Comment: This place is very shady. Ive rented from Public Storage for years but gave Extra Space a try because the location was more convenient. Upon moving in, I learned my unit was actually smaller than advertised. I signed up for a 5x5 unit and upon move in, its actually 4x4.5. After talking to the leasing office, they offered to upgrade me to a larger unit on the 3rd floor but advised against it because theyve been experiencing a lot of break-ins due to that floors design. They credited me half months rent so I decided to keep the unit.Now, just 3 months into my rental, theyve informed me they are raising the rent by 22% starting next month. The property is not well maintained either, its dirty inside and out. Its unfortunate they have such poor business practices because I really liked the location.

She answered all my questions to my satisfaction.The only drawback is that the online price I was Given whats not permanent. I was never told when I made the reservation with the lady. I spoke with that this would be only temporary.This feels like a trap to me, but since I am desperate to get a storage unit, I dont have the option to keep looking at this time. As I have been told, this time of the year is busy for storage unit rentals.That would be my only complaint, but your facility was very nice, well lit, and clean.

Only been there for 2 months then they raised up the rent then after 6 months again and again after wards within just a year 3 increases of rent3. From cubesmart it became extra space storage different management4. To open and to get out of the premises of the gate you have to get out of your car to put code in which is not good especially during night time for safety reasons it is not a drive thru put your code in..

I had to deal with this problem for over a year, and it was very stressful. Sheila as an assistant manager had a friendly manner, and a willingness to help. She listened to me and what I needed, and found a solution in less than 10minutes!! I couldnt be more happy with her attention to my situation and the solution she provided. Now that this facility has been taken over by Extra Space Storage I’ve felt more secure that it will be managed by nice, friendly, accommodating professionals because I have previously used other facilities in the Orange County area and have found ALL Extra Space Storage employees to be the same. I would like to especially thank Sheyla B. & Will Chapman at the 3rd St., Riverside facility for being SO helpful & efficient with their advice to me when things seemed impossibly hopeless during my move. They’re just the best! I absolutely recommend!

Comment: Update: don’t store here. Someone in my neighboring unit used wire cutters to breach the chicken wire ceiling and steal from me.This was a nice place, 5 years ago when I first moved in. They keep selling the facility and I don’t find that out until they tell me my payment is due and it’s from a new company. First packing house storage (LOVED!)Then CubeSmart (they increased prices and called me delinquent with informing customers about change)Now I just got an email this morning from Extra space storage with a $5 increase and that I need to make a payment. This is HIGHLY irritating because I have to keep giving the new facility my information. If I had the room, I would just keep all my stuff in my apartment so I don’t have to deal with this.

Comment: Do not rent here;stay away!My storage was broken into and people literally live in storages. Homeless people have codes to come in and out of the facility I saw a few people on foot looked like crackheads coming in and out..If you notice there is a gap above your storage door well homeless climb in with a latter and steal your things and even put their own lock so they can make it their own. There is peoples clothes trash and urine in plastic bottles outside that place..Go, run somewhere else and not to long ago my rent went up 60% that is so wrong...If your going toincrease have security to guard the facility!!!

Original operation of what used to be Packing House Storage was great, but unit rental rates have gotten too high under several management/ownership changes to justify keeping my belongings there any longer — especially given that when I came to move things out of storage, I discovered rats had eaten through a hose in my washing machine, among other items. There were also dead flies everywhere, and the facility generally smelled rank. Not expecting a perfumery or a five-star hotel, but definitely would expect it to not have such an odor or have bugs/rodents. Funnily and sadly enough, someone else I ran into on the ground floor was also moving their things out and had also discovered rats had eaten through their things.

Sheyla was able to cut my lock and provided me a “store” lock until I was able to order a brand new lock. Although the lock was difficult to cut through she did it!! Comment: Used to be good when I first got there and got worse with new owners. They changed owners like 2 times within a year that i been with them. Raised the rent a lot higher from what i was originally paying. No one is never in the office or answers the phone. Definitely will be moving my things soon. The only good thing is the security with it being a inside storage facility. Thats why I gave it an extra star. I wouldnt recommend unless you want a rate increase randomly every few months or so. They also dont work with you even though the phone system is horrible when making payments. Late fees are really high too if youre late. Dont rent here. They raise their prices every few months or so. No one ever answers the phones and they have a new manager or management every 6 months.

People always leave trash outside (mountains of trash), we recently got rats and they ruined all my stuff (family items, kids car seats, my mothers belongings that passed away and much more ), and we know the rats didn’t come from us since we have been there for a couple years and have never had a problem, the gates half the time don’t work or are left open the whole time when anyone can go in there so if your looking for security than don’t come here, the workers are rude, and there’s times I had to wait for a worker to open the gate past the time the property “open”, if your try calling for questions or to speak to a manager they never answer but once you call like your trying to rent out a locker than they answer quick, save your time and money on this place, the insurance is a scam and covers only things that can happen in the mid west and up 0 stars to this place …

We had rodents go into our storage facility and all of our belongings were damaged. The insurance policy they give you covers for “sonic boom” but doesn’t cover rodent damage? Makes zero sense.Ever since cube smart took over packing house it all went down hill. You can never get ahold of anyone here and whenever you do you get the run around. Forget about corporate because they tell you to deal with the store directly.Whoever says this place is clean must not go often. We go on a daily to weekly basis and every single time there is trash everywhere. The gate is constantly left open for anyone to just go in. There’s been several people in the units around us that have had their units broken into. This whole place is just horrible. I don’t recommend for anyone to come here. Look somewhere else that’s secure, direct and clean.

Your belongings are probably not secure here.Apparently the only way that a customer can communicate with CubeSmart is through posting, very disappointing.I went to my storage unit today (12/26/22) and stopped at the office after noticing the access gate was wide open, the entry door to my area of the storage building was inoperable, and the broken out windows in the front office (covered in plywood). I wanted to know if it was safe to keep my storage unit because it looked like there had been a break in.The new manager, Lauren, was very nice, albeit looking a little nervous, and said that she had only been there a couple of weeks. She said she was working on getting everything fixed and was trying to walk the property at least to three times a day to make her presence know. She said the windows would be replaced within the next couple of weeks and the back entry door was also on the agenda to be repaired in about the same time period. No mention of a break in to any of the storage unit areas.I went back to my unit and to my horror my lock was not on the unit. I lifted the door about a foot and saw a couple of my expected items. I immediately shut the door and went back to the office to ask what was going on. Lauren said she would check. She confirmed my unit was paid up to date and THEN mentioned that my unit was probably involved in the break in back on 10/21/22. WHAT?! I was never notified of a break in. Not by phone or in writing.She and I walked back to my unit and I opened it right up. She explained that it appeared the “temporary” lock was improperly installed or wasn’t the correct one. WHAT?! You mean to tell me that for TWO months my unit has been open and unlocked?! My old lock and the bracket was found inside my unit.This is NOT okay. At the point when I fully opened the unit I was stunned to realize some things were missing. Lauren provided me with the info for the storage rental insurance and the number for Riverside PD so that I could file my own claim.Sadly, one of the items stolen was a one of a kind family heirloom. While a monetary value can be established, the sentimental value makes it irreplaceable to me and my family.I have been a customer of the prior owners and now CubeSmart for quite some time. I depended on them to keep up their end of our storage unit contract. I kept mine by paying my monthly bill on time and by using their recommended lock. They did not keep theirs. In addition they were negligent by leaving my unit unlocked for TWO months. They advertise at least three layers of security. All three failed?This lack of care and responsibility wasn’t always the case. Several months ago, I entered the facility without entering my access code at the gate. When I opened my unit, some one from the office immediately came down to check on who was entering the unit because an alarm went off in the office.I am beyond devastated and so disappointed in the lack of customer care by all those who dropped the ball (except for Lauren, who was visibly concerned for me and showed compassion and kindness). Unfortunately, I believe the rest of CubeSmart couldn’t care less about me or my personal loss.Current and future customers beware.

The same day I filed a police report for theft, I was able to rent a new secure storage unit with this agency and I was able to feel safe again. That means the world to me. Not only is the value worth it, the facility makes moving simple and frustration free. I never thought I could fall in love with a storage facility, but so far, helping me in a moment of crisis, has been amazing. Thank you!The review above was for the former owners (Packing House) and I gave them 5 stars.Since it switched to CubeSmart. Ive become disappointed. Not only has the price changed so has the hours. The gate is only open during office hours. Which is impossible for the working person. Ive rushed over to the storage facility hoping to make it on time and constantly miss it. The times differ among M-F, Sat, Sun. Since the storage site is by train tracks, the train passes near closing time. The street becomes heavily congested and causes delays. Weekends should be open longer not shorter. I tried to go get my Christmas tree at least 3x and the gate is locked. One of the appeals of the previous hours meant I could stop by before and after work. Now Im lucky if I make it. Ive had staff let me know they are closing soon and I have to leave because of the short hours. I understand wanting staff on site to prevent theft, reduce littering, and prevent homeless wondering the property but the limited hours also prevent those of us who pay to have access to our things. There has to be a compromise between the company and the clients. We more accessibility.

There has been 2 rate increases since packinghouse got bought out. The first was a given and a small increase was nothing considering they expanded on access hours.Now I get a subtle notification theyre jacking up the rate another 40 dollars.

We are auction buyers and it is so stressful to get there at 9:30 Am and no one in office till 10:00 Am or they leave and close for hrs or days. Comment: I would do a negative stars if I could. There are people living in the units, taking sponge baths in the restrooms, and units are being broken into. Even though you report these issues to staff they to not do anything about the situation. People leave trash every where and there are bugs as well. Once CubeSmart took over the storage facility it drastically changed to a filthy place. I would find a different company than CubeSmart.

When we got there with our queen size bed, we find out that our unit in on the third floor and the elevators were broke. Cannot even speak directly to the person who could actually adjust my rate back. Saying they have no knowledge of my old contract- thankfully the current store manager is trying to help, but this business model pretty much takes any decision making ability from the hands of the people the customer can actually talk to. I didnt sign a contract with them and they have raised my rate over fifty bucks. Very disappointing and sad.

She has been welcoming and professional, and even has a small welcome bag ready for you with information and a very sweet card.The facility has excellent security (enter your code at the gate and again at the elevator/sliding door), video surveillance, all units have their roll-up doors facing inwards, and its climate controlled! No worries about attempted break-ins like other places where your door and lock are just a fence-hop away, and stored items dont get aged/crusty/damaged by sitting in an oven.I rented here back when it was the Packing House, and Im pleased to report that the service quality has not suffered under the new CubeSmart management. They do require that you have insurance, which you can get through them if you dont have renters or homeowners insurance on your own.

I called ahead about the availability of units, then upon arrival, was given a prompt tour of the units with the office manager. Given a first-hand look at the sizes of the units, I was extremely confident in the choice of my unit. With provided dollies and an elevator, it was absolutely easy and convenient getting my boxes and items into my storage unit. All-in-all, from the time I arrived, given the tour, finished the paperwork, and stored all my items, I was in-and-out in about an hour. I highly recommend this business for all your storage needs!

From the big corporately owned place with the orange doors to those that are privately-owned. Most ppl probably think storage is storage, right? Absolutely NOT! If you are storing with Packing House Riverside, you and your stuff are with the best of the best! Every aspect of doing business with Manager Lynette and also with Melody (tho it might be Melanie) is 5 Star. You will not find a shinier, cleaner locker anywhere. It is new. All units are inside. All units are climate controlled. The entire bldg benefits from AC. Ive never seen a single bug in or near the storage bldg. No dust. No dirt. No rain. You can rest easy putting boxes on the floor which is polished cement btw, and not worry that anything will be water damaged. To gain entry onto the property, there are 2 checkpoints. You will have to clear both. And should you ever lose track of time and find yourself locked in after closing, dont panic youll be out in a jiffy! (So long as you provide the necessary information.) Ive locked myself in twice! Out in a jif! Theres a huge elevator and big push carts to transport your stuff from your vehicle into brand new shiny unit! If at any time I need to store things, now or in the future, Packing House Self Storage will always be my #1 Go-To storage solution to which I can rest easy knowing that my stuff is in good hands with only the best!! 💗. A good selection of space sizes, conveniently located, secure, and temperature controlled. More importantly, it provides a calm and pleasant environment in which to complete what otherwise is an unpleasant chore.I highly recommend.

They have promotional prices and it’s free for the first month to those who have AAA membership or 50% off for the first three months or if you get lucky, both.The customer service is great. Their office is spacious and they also offer free coffee! Awesome! (although I didn’t have one lol; just saw it)The place is climate controlled and units are clean. The only problem is that the elevator sometimes don’t work. One time I got stuck on it coz it won’t move down and it kept having this weird noise. I thought it’s the cart but even after removing it, still, it won’t go down. So I went on the other elevator instead and have to move my car. It would have been 5 stars if I hadn’t encountered this problem before. Also, I don’t know if it’s true or not, but they are closed on Sundays according to the customer service representative that I talked to. It’s because I came here on Sunday morning and I found no carts on the floors that I have access to. It says on the website that they open at 11am-4pm, it also says on their business doors outside. I came here early during access hours so I called and asked so I can decide whether to stay and wait for them to open so I can borrow a cart, or just move my stuff by myself. So it’s weird when I called and the customer service representative told me they are close on Sundays and google does not update their system. Or perhaps even the information that they put on their doors? Anyways, don’t expect to find a cart if you move on Sundays during access hours.Update: 5 stars. Because there are carts now during the weekend. And also, this is probably just the storage unit that have music! It’s chill. Not creepy at all. This is so far the best storage unit I have ever had that is why even if I live far in Carson, I wouldn’t let this go. Lol.

I had to go inside the lobby 2 separate times and was assisted by a different gentlemen each time both whom were very polite, helpful and professional. Also, I noticed the temperature of the storage units is set at 71 degrees.
