Then month 3 they send you a small discreet piece of paper in the mail saying that due to changes in the market the rate is increasing. Well the rate almost tripled!! They are an extremely shady business! You are better off renting elsewhere!Thanks for replying to my post but you’re just trying to save face. I called the number and they basically said “we don’t care, we can raise it, it’s in the contract that it’s month to month and we can raise it any time for any amount”So thanks for nothing and as I said before! Rent elsewhere!

And theres one trolley to use when you need to move your stuff and the whole entire place at 9 times out of 10. Somebody sticks it in their storage unit and locks it up so you cant even use it. And theyre charging me $200 a month Ridiculous this place is A joke!!!!! Do not rent here! I will be talking to the managers whenever they decide to be in the office and I am going to logic complaint with their corporate as well. Because this is a joke. I had to fix my own door with WD40 because they claim there was nothing wrong with it When I couldnt even get the door open and its still isnt right And they still havent fixed it. Do not rent here. And do not store your stuff here!!!!

Comment: I have been at this facility for about 5 years. When Kim was here i nevwr had one issue. The current manager of this store will have your unit broken into, will attempt to reach out about it, but wont leave an urgent message. I didnt find out about my unit being broken into for 20 days! I moved into another unit at the same facility because at the time it wasnt able to go elsewhere. Then she raised my rent 3 times. Between both units I occupied under her managemnt my rent was raised about 6 tines. If you try to move out she will not credit or prorate the amount and acts like she cares but absolutely does not. She will smile in your face and then act like there is nothing she can do about it. I am so glad to be leaving this storage facility. I was in the hospital and she wouldnt even waive the late fee, which is possible. I would advise to use a different location for Extra Space storage.

Comment: I moved in on a Wednesday 4/26 and by Sunday 4/30 everything of value in my locker was stolen and my lock had been changed. This was about $6,000 worth of belongings, including my deceased mothers belongings that can never be replaced. The facility told me that they do not have any cameras on the inside of the buildings so there was basically nothing to be done and because the cameras are able to be seen in the office the thief could see what angles would work to not be caught. Additionally, my lock was changed and no one noticed until Monday morning at 10 am despite supposedly having as sticker system to find out whether locks had been changed.I would NOT recommend this establishment at all, especially if you are storing anything of value.

Comment: There’s not enough security cameras and security in general. Less than a week after getting a storage unit, our lock was cut and people broke in and stole about $300 worth of stuff. When police contacted management, they admitted to not having cameras where the interior units are, or in the hallways, or even the entrance to the interior units. I honestly found that part to be ridiculous, not having cameras in those areas. They’re guessing other customers broke in and stole. We do appreciate the staff giving us another lock, and the insurance money, but overall, we personally didn’t have a good experience here.

Originally, I tried to use the Rapid Rental Link sent to my email, but kept getting an error message. I also got an email saying that my reservation on the unit expired, so I was worried that I lost my promotional rate. So I called and got Jason who was very professional and helpful. He helped me rent my unit at the promotional rate and answered all my questions and concerns. I was so grateful for his help, because I wasnt able to rent the unit online before the office closed, and I had a truck load of stuff I had to unload. Jason was very friendly and saved me from a lot of trouble and worries. I couldnt have been happier with his assistance.

Comment: Kim is the best!! My mom died suddenly and I had to vacate her apartment immediately. The problem was, due to Covid restrictions, the packing and the move could only start after 6pm. That meant that the unpacking at a storage unit would be late at night. We had been to several storage facilities all saying they could not accommodate us.Kim was a breath of fresh air. Not only did she listen and understand what the situation was, she bent over backwards to make it all happen. Her storage facility is open until 10 but she gave me her cell phone number so I could call and get in after hours. She could not have been more kind and helpful.Kim is friendly and really keeps an eye on the place. She is constantly cleaning and making sure all the elevators and hand carts are clean and working properly.My boyfriend is moving a shop from Northern California and there was no doubt from who and where we would rent a storage unit. Kim to the rescue again!

Comment: This first half is for the customer service. Kim Buchanan-Coleman, the on-site manager, made my entire rental experience a very smooth & pleasant one. She explained everything in detail, answered all my questions and showed me the property before I signed up. Every time that I showed up with some kind of need, she accommodated me with a smile - even when she was getting ready for lunch. Oh! She even walks the grounds to check up on everything. A great example of genuine customer service!This second half is for the facility itself. I rented with Public Storage before & it just got scary, dirty, unkept, etc. When I found Extra Space Storage just down the street, I was thrilled. After a tour of the facility & the units I was looking to rent, I knew this was my new place to store. The grounds are kept clean, clutter-free. The storage units are clean. There are no holes in the walls. No signs of any kind of infestation like there was at the other place. There are pull dollies on every elevator to help with transporting your stuff from your car to your unit. Every hallway is lighted for safety. Theres even music playing. Every time I come here, I dont feel scared or nervous because of what might lurk on the grounds or in the units.Overall, an ideal place for storing my things with peace of mind. Close by. Clean. Congenial staff. I highly recommend this place if youre looking for a storage company!

The first person I made contact with was the Assistant Manager—Fale. She is a lovely lady who personifies what excellent, “Wow me” customer service should be. I met with Fale and the facility Manager Kim the next day. Kim is a great Manager who knows the importance of working with a customer to meet their needs, not just take their money. She and Fale both had to go the extra mile to help me with paperwork, because I’m disabled and they were incredible. The facility is wonderful, just what we were looking for, and, less expensive than where we currently are, with WAY more space. Sometimes you get a bargain. Some times you get great service. Comment: Kim, in the front office, is amazing! She is always smiling and so nice. The day that I was vacating my storage unit, I was there by myself. Kim knew that I haf gone through chemotherapy and radiation treatments, for brrast cancer, the year before. So, when I called the office phone that day, and asked Kim o come up to my unit, because I was feeling a little dizzy, and if she had a bottle of water that I could have, she said, Il be right there! It only took her 2 minutes to get up to my unit with a bottle of water. She asked if I was going to pass out, and I said, I dont know, maybe! I called my boyfriend, to come over and get me. Kim stayed with me, outside, in my moving trailer for the whole 40 minutes that it took my boyfriend to get there, from his work. She is a truely beautiful, caring, good hearted person! Comment: Kim and Eduardo were perfect. I cannot give this place enough stars. My wife and I were frantically searching for a storage unit, and we contacted Extra Space Storage online. Their customer service was outstanding.When we arrived at the location Eduardo was ready and waiting. He showed us the unit we had picked out, and explained the benefits of the unit, showed us that although we were on the 2nd floor, it was easy to maneuver the items we planned on storing. He answered all questions we had, and responded and addressed all concerns.My wife wanted to see other units, and he took the time to go and show us two additional units. He was incredibly patient throughout the whole process.He said something a long the lines of, Moving is stressful enough, we want to make it as stress-free as possible.They really do just that at Extra Space storage. When we arrived back in the office to sign documentation, Kim recognized my wife from her voice on the phone, and remembered her name and their conversation from before. She specifically asked if a concern she expressed over the phone had been addressed.Great customer service. Very clean facility. Very good price.

Comment: I made a reservation for my unit in the morning and received a call from Paul at Extra Space maybe about 5 minutes later. He was extremely professional and he had such a happy disposition and was so accommodating. Once I got to the storage site, he was on the phone but he made sure to acknowledge my friend and I right away. Once he was done, we were shown the unit and given all the information that I needed. I was impressed with how clean the property is and very happy with my unit price as well as the efficiency of Paul, as he is the only one I have dealt with so far. I cannot express just exactly how amazing at customer service he is and I sincerely hope that the management takes a look at Paul and his professional demeanor. First month in and I am very happy!

Comment: I had a storage unit there a while back and then had a unit under my fiancés name. We split and he was making things difficult for me to get my boxes out of storage and I did not have a key. Kim the manager who I had been on a consistent communication with through the situation took very good care of me. I was able to get my stuff easily and without any fuss. Paul the attendant went above and beyond to help me cut the lock and take care of leftover bills. If I ever rent storage space in the future, this is the first location Im coming. Thank you both.

Comment: I went to check out this storage to try to figure out what size I needed for all my stuff. The place is clean, has cameras and feels pretty secure. The staff is SUPER nice. Eddie and Kim were great! Moving and dealing with storage isnt anybodys idea of fun but the staff made everything easy. I decided to not look anywhere else and just get a 5x10. Price is reasonable too. So far so good!

Comment: All I can say is Thank God for Extra Space Storage, especially Kim And Eddie. I just got thru with a brutal Storage Unit experience for 2 years. That being with PUBLIC STORAGE. High Rent, Rude, cold staff, and while I was out of the Country for work, and I had been paying my rent already for almost 2 years, I could not get back within 30 days, THEY CUT MY LOCK AT 31 DAYS AND DID IT 4 TIMES!!! Brutal to say the Least. Extra Space Storage is the way to go !!!!!!! Great Service, Real People, Clean Facilities.......Amen

Comment: Ive had a bit of a mixed experience here. In four years the rates were already 50% higher than move in, and the insurance feels questionable. That said, Kim checked me in and has been exceptionally attentive to my needs and questions!Storage can feel sketchy at times, but this facility has been clean, and the staff great. Again, the only grip would be price increases, but guessing thats normal in this business.

Comment: First of all, this facility is clean, secure and smoothly run by a great team of Kim, Eddie & Tim. Secondly, any glitches like elevator or gate problems are quickly and efficiently addressed. The grounds are always kept up and the hallways swept daily. Floors are painted often so the place looks great. Extremely convenient location and hours. Highly reccomend.

The manager Kimberly is an in and out beautiful person.She keeps the facility very clean; in fact I never saw other Extra Space Storage facility that clean. The environment is very pleasant. Comment: Weve only been storing there for less than a month but as storage places go we have found the staff very helpful and friendly. The facility is kept clean, plenty of moving carts available, and quick operating elevator....Big Plus there! Our space was clean and ready to be filled. Two thumbs up for the staff and facility!!As for Management....The prices are reasonable but we were surprised about the required earthquake insurance and we didnt care too much for that. Nothing was mentioned by the phone staff and nothing on the webpage mentions this requirement, only the monthly rate. In order to compare facilities prices with other companies, something about this requirement should be clearly noted on the webpage because its sort of a bait and switch and faults advertising. Just a suggestion but most folks really dont care for hidden fees like this. Had this information been clearly noted on the webpage (Near the Pricing), Wed given you 5 Stars....

Comment: Ive been renting from Extra Space Storage for about 6 months (+) or so now and Ive had nothing but great customer service from the 2 individuals I see. They are both highly courteous and friendly-never had I had to introduce myself more than twice:). They keep the environment clean and easily accessible. Ive moved storage units within the same location (needed more space) and happily they took the time to show me various options so that I could make my decision based on my needs. Although this location is a significant distance from my home (completely out of my way), I wouldnt change it due to the price and staff.

Comment: This is the second Extra Space Storage property unit that I have used. One was in San Diego and now this one in Garden Grove. The staff is always courteous and helpful. The grounds are well maintained. I was previously on the second floor and opted to pay extra for a first floor unit this time. It is so much easier to manage and manuever when you dont have to use the elevator, too. The hours are great and being able to manage my account on line is adventageous.It is too bad that some tenants are too lazy to remove their trash and just leave it in front of someone elses locker so that tenant is blamed.I would recommend ESS to everyone I know who needs short or long term storage.

Comment: The staff has been very helpful making 2 moves go easier. We had a 53 truckload coming from the mid-west and were able to get the truck in the right place and have it unloaded in less than 3 hours.My other storage unit (10x10) works great for me because it provides me with a lot more cubic feet than most other places Ive been. Its on the 3rd floor and is a little cheaper to rent, but Im not there all the time so that is not an issue.The only issue I have is the elevator door sometimes will get stuck on the 3rd floor and will not come down. But they will be addressing this issue soon.Also, if you have your own home owners or renters insurance, make sure to get them a copy up front or they will automatically charge you $10 extra per month as they say its required. I gave them my copy and now Im not being charged the extra fee.The gate hours are great, much better than most (6am-10pm). And they have flat carts which help a lot going inside the buildings.I wish they could put more light upstairs, more so inside the units with a timer. I have to use a battery operated lantern to get a good view of anything I need to work on while inside.Overall, I would recommend the place. Their prices are reasonable and seems to be very secure place.
