Comment: I started dealing with Extra Space when I wanted to store things precious to me in case there was a brush fire at home. That was a common occurrence at home. Then, circumstances changed for me and my house sold and I needed a larger space to store household items until I could move them out of state.Mark was always very helpful and saw to it that my needs were met. Both with changing units when I needed a larger one and with helping my family storing the things and, now with clearing out the unit so that my things could be moved to my new home in WA state.I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who has need of a little extra space!

Never had an issue and always highly recommend to friends and family looking for storage options. I had to wait until 930 to gain access while having to be at work at 10 AM. Hence the reason why I started at 4 AM very upsetting and Customer Service did not help other than advising me. I would have to wait until someone came in the office. There should be something in place for these one off scenarios and having to wait for hours is unacceptable. Still waiting to hear back from management and still have not.

Comment: No hassle both leasing (including arbitration opt-out) and service! I recently rented a clean, indoor, five-by-ten-foot unit. Conscientious, helpful, and diligent is how I describe my experience renting from this business. It is comforting to know someone cares about the safety of your belongings by staying vigilant, on-top of rodents (I saw no evidence, aside from the usual traps and an anti-rodent pouch in the unit) and fixing any leaks with alacrity! 😊Note that as of 9/2023 (as far as I know?), ExtraSpace Storage is upgrading from their disc-ring padlocks to a walnut sized “cylindrical” lock: so, factor-in a new lock fee if you have not rented anew in a while. I did not ask if they would trade their old lock for the new lock.Always take advantage of the Web rate by paying your expected term in-full, up-front to avoid surprise increases and needing to relocate during term. My last ExtraSpace Storage unit went-up 50% after a year!Also, remember to ask for a copy of your counter-signed lease with their signature! as they usually forget.

As I am a woman, and didnt feel safe at night at my current unit. He graciously moved the location of my storage unit, to a well lit area and open area, and even waved my unit transfer fee. When I was moving all my stuff to my new unit that day, he brought me a cart to make it easier, without me even asking. He even brought me a cold water bottle, while I was moving things! I really appreciate him! He is the best representative to work with, and this storage location is great and a safe location to move your things.

Comment: I’ve used Extra Space Sportage for the last year and when recently relocating cities used them as my go-to to store my belongings again. Not only do they offer great price, but I’ve never had a greater guest service experience than I’ve ever had with them.I’ve locked myself out of my unit (lost my key) and they had a courtesy lock cut which I’ve paid fees for in other storage space companies. I ended my contract early (short notice) during my move and they prorated quickly and without hassle or the need for me to be there in person as I was traveling. Employees are always professional and coutous and on top of thongs ensuring your items are safe. I felt at ease knowing my items are there. There were times I didnt realize I failed to properly secure my storage unit, and I would receive a call about it. This made it especially nice for me knowing my items were safe. The manager, Mark, is very approachable and kind. He is very easy to speak to & treats you respectfully. Upon my no longer needing my storage, I actually felt a little sad leaving. It may sound odd, but I felt I was leaving behind my old home.

They always greet me and will open the gate if they see me.The facility is clean even after some guests leave their trash outside their units. This might be the cleanest facility Ive seen.I highly recommend renting from them. Be sure to reserve a space though because they seem to fill up fast, at least at this time (spring 2022). I received the free 1st month promotion but my next payment will be slightly high for a 5x5. However, I still recommend their facility over all the other storage facilities that I viewed.EDIT: today I moved my storage outand was sad to say goodbye to the gentleman. Comment: Its been a year since I discovered my unit was broken into and I still suffer depression from it.Whoever broke in knew not to leave a trace that Mark would see, so its very likely they had and may continue to have a unit there. Mark did attempt to review all of the footage after my last visit, but of course the camera above my access door was not working.If the person responsible sees this, I hope youre satisfied having taken a box of hard drives that had little to monetary value but stored countless projects and memories that I will never get back.I was given a three month refund after Mark insisted on it to the district manager, but the fact of the matter is that I spent thousands of dollars storing my belongings at a place where I thought they were secure.

I have left my storage locked in the open position quite a bit on accident and every single time I receive a phone call letting me know it is open. They do their daily rounds of the facility and look closely for anything out of place. 9 times out of 10 I drive up and the gate is already being opened for me. Customer service is excellent. I am always asked if I need any help, or if I need a cart they bring it to me. I have had 3 different storage units with extra space storage: One on 10th W and L, one on J8 between 15th and 20th, and the other on 23rd west off of Ave I. Each facility is always clean and staff is always helpful and friendly. I would recommend any one of these.

Comment: BEWARE!We have always trusted Extra Space Storage. I’ve even rented space here all over CA for its security. However, yesterday my wife and went to our unit after a few weeks. Opened the roll up door and our entire unit was ransacked. Just about $2300 of tools, dishes and personal items were gone. Our blackest that we’re in a hope-chest were all over the floor and thrown everywhere. The odd thing is, our lock and the roll up door had no sign of break in entry. We have insurance, but the on sight manager didn’t say much except for hand us a brochure for the insurance. If you do rent here or anywhere in Lancaster or Palmdale, just double up your locks and be aware of who’s around you.

Comment: I have dealt with three different people in the office. I feel that because there is not one person to deal with on a regular basis, there is no continuity. It is difficult to build relationships with or get good, consistent information. There has been one person whom I absolutely did not get along with and I hope never to deal with him again (Juan). After having a terrible experience with Juan, I dealt with Caterina. I absolutely adore her. She takes her time and explains everything to you so you do not have any surprises. She makes sure to go above and beyond to help you and make sure you understand. I very much appreciated dealing with her.

Comment: Had a great time at this location Tony and Codi were a great help. I had to move my stuff from my apartment and I needed to store my stuff temporarily. I even got a truck to help me out with the move all less than $100 bucks. Uhaul was charging me way over $100 I greatly recommend this location to anyone wanting to save some money.

Comment: Everything about renting out a unit here was great from the cost to the facilities themselves. The two guys who work the front office were very helpful and professional through the whole process (which was very quick and painless). They show you your unit prior to signing anything and during the inspection they caught stuff and fixed any issues before I even did so I was very appreciative of that.The facilities are very clean so I felt comfortable storing away my household items. They spray the perimeters and outside the doors quite often so theyre great with preventing messes.Theyre also literally half the cost of the units over the hill so coming here was an easy choice.Also, while I was talking with the staff member about costs and if there will be any surprises with fees / monthly cost increases (like there usually is), one of the customers nearby said she only had about a $3 increase in the 1.5 years shes been there so theyre really fair with that. The staff member did mention their price increases are always relative to the cost of other units but there will never be a drastic increase, only a couple of bucks which isnt a big deal.Id definitely recommend this place to anyone and will come back any time I need more storage.

Comment: Very happy with Tony and Codi, the staff for their help on a late weekday night of vacating my unit. They lent a hand helping me shimmy a trailer so it could be hitched and towed out. I was exhausted from a long hot day of moving and they were 11th hour reinforcements and refused to even accept a tip. Very honest guys, and really came through. Would recommend to others.

Comment: If you want to rent a storage space where your belongings are subjected to deer mice poop (and pee as well because our stuff stunk like it) and the likelihood of potential harmful HANTIVIRUS and have it all over your belongings when you go to get them out then be my guest. Rented here for 2 months and went to pick up my stuff to move into our new home and discovered that I had deer mice poop in my brand new refrigerator, all over my new couches, my new Cal-King Bed, our childrens bed, on top of my microwave, my washing machine, my dryer, in my bag of bath towels, in bags of our kids clothes, all over our Christmas light and ornaments box, ALL OVER THE PLACE. As a matter of fact my last comment to the manager before I left was I am not responsible for cleaning up all this mice crap in the unit right? He answered No. He did explain that there were other instances of this and they were going to call their rodent/pest control out and let all the tenants know that they would need to access their units (after the fact). Keep in mind my stuff was in there for 2 months. On top of this all I am required to carry their insurance and (this is the best part) was told to contact the Premium Insurance that I purchased from them about my Deer Mice poop infestation problem. I contact the insurance company and they said sorry we dont cover rodent damage. They cover everything else shy of a Nuclear Missile Strike or crap that clearly wont or is on the High Probability list of not happening EVER in the city of Lancaster California (I.e. Tidal Waves, Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Tsunamis, etc.) but not the obvious rodent infestation and damage. I spoke with management again and said this was unacceptable as I have 2 small children and my cancer stricken mother that will be in the house using the couches, the beds, towels, you know EVERYTHING I had stored in this unit. Their response was that this had to go up to corporate and someone would contact me in 48 hours. Keep in mind I asked to have the cleaning costs covered as I contacted a company (CHEM-DRY) and they gave me a quote to CLEAN and SANITIZE my belongings for $2,000.00! I didnt ask for BRAND NEW furniture, beds, fridge, washer, dryer, clothes, towels, etc! I asked for the cleaning costs to be covered so that I felt safe knowing that my belongings would be sanitized and habitable for use by my family. That was on Monday April 18th 2016 so I should have received a call on Wednesday April 20th, 2016 right? I had to call them today (Thursday April 28th, 2016, 10 days LATER!) just to get an update and be told that sorry nobody called you back. We can do our best to make sure it doesnt happen again in the future but we are not responsible for rodent damage (or health issues that could arise from breathing in mouse crap and pee i.e. HANTIVIRUS) and this is why we require you to have insurance (insurance that doesnt cover against rodent damage). If you are looking into getting a storage I would not recommend getting one at this location or any other extra space storage locations. For a company to place their bottom dollar over the health of a family and their young children is absolutely uncalled for and to not even consider working with the tenant on the cleaning costs to ensure that their belongings are SANITIZED is just beyond me. I cant afford the cleaning costs and had to wipe down and attempt to sanitize EVERYTHING. My mother cannot come into our home now. NEVER AGAIN!Let me make one thing abundantly clear. This is not a reflect on the assistant store managers (Cody) ability to perform his job as he followed every procedure that he could for me. This is a direct reflect on the Corporate office and their disregard for health issues/concerns that arise (rodent poop and urine) from storing belongings at their facility when rodents infest the spaces and shear lack of customer service in communicating with the customer when an issue like this arises.

Comment: OMG!! I cannot praise these guys enough. We were in a really tight spot. We had to be out of our rented house by 8:00am on Monday. These guys rented us two 10x15 spaces, for a great price, on Friday on Sunday night we ran out of space and still had a ton of stuff to store. The office was closed and wouldnt open until 9:30 the next day. My wife just happened to run into Tony on his day off. He opened a third locker for us, let us move our stuff in with nothing more than a promise to fill out the paperwork in the morning.As the owner of a local real estate company, I will be sending all of my clients to these guys.Thanks to everyone here for saving us.

Comment: I needed storage for my daughters car damaged from an accident and Extra Space came through. The people there were extremely nice, personable and provided fantastic customer service. The price is great and the facility is very clean and well-kept. No problems here and highly recommended!
