Comment: Visited yesterday with my husband when we realized our 10x10 unit from the Skyway drive location was far too small for our stuff. I’m glad this location was not too far from them and they were able transfer our information and details right away to help us get started with the 10x15 upgrade. Skyway staff processed a refund immediately and the staff from the Farnel location was super kind and helpful to us throughout the process. He gave us a full demonstration on how secure the facilities are. Everything went by quick and smoothly without any hassle! Highly recommend!

Comment: As a business owner myself, I hate writing these kinds of reviews because I know the impact they can have on business. My Bus/RV was stolen from the property during a 2 week period where the gates were broken. The facility does not have cameras in the back so we could not gain any evidence as to who stole the Bus/RV, and the manager could not provide me with footage of the RV leaving the compound because it was too much work. I am aware that the waiver I sign in the beginning makes them not liable for my property. But I can tell you that they did nothing to help me with in any way. I couldnt even get a conversation with the owners in order to request at least a discount on my space. I was fortunate enough to find my bus parked at the local walmart with the thiefs inside, but the vandalism and damage that was done to my Bus/RV along with the stolen solar panels, batteries, inverters and appliances is more than I would spend on 3 years of storage with them. If the owner reads this, please reach out to me. I would much rather rectify this situation with you than leave a bad review about your business.Pictures are what the Bus/RV looked like before. The video is how I found my Bus/RV after it was stolen.Update:I changed my review from 1 star to 4 stars after talking with the new manager Daniel. He did what he could within his power to make things right. He moved my spot to a new location which is now up front and under surveillance. He also reduced my monthly rate to help compensate for my loss. It wont amount to the damages done, but it definitely helps me a lot. Thumbs up to Daniel for doing what he can for loyal customers.

Comment: My family rented a storage unit at the location. Their unit was robbed TWICE! When they went to ask they were just told that there is nothing they could do. After reviewing their security system they could only come up with lukewarm conclusions as to who could have possibly been the perpetrator. To be very clear, the employee who assisted my parents was very understanding and professional. This review is not an indictment on him.More frustrating is the fact that they (my parents) do not recall having been told that they had the opportunity to purchase optional insurance against theft. The most infuriating and discouraging part of my parents experience is that there were priceless possesions that were stolen. These are apart from other items such as tools which my father had accumulated over decades.I CANNOT IN GOOD FAITH RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Their security measures failed to keep my parents possesions safe not once but twice.

Angel and Daniel have run this location for years and surprise me when they know me by name outside of the office. Prices are good but insurance is no longer optional, its included (almost gave 4 stars since its not optional). Office hours are good. Gate hours are awesome, closing at 10:30pm. Theres a lot of locker options, indoor lockers with typical room doors and larger spaces are outdoor with roll top doors. Rental parking spaces available for small vehicles upto full size RVs. Carts for moving your stuff are available. Pretty clean and nice looking place. Bathrooms arent always unlocked due to other renters ruining it for us but they have restrooms unlike a lot of places, just ask someone for help. Cameras are watching almost everywhere too. I even noticed a pest control pouch slid under door one day so they are on top of that too. Overall, definitely where you want to go for self storage.

Comment: I called around each and every storage facility in the Santa Maria-Nipomo area down to the buellton-solvang area and the best deal I found was here at extra space storage. The price combined with the hours I can access my unit open until 10pm (on farnel Rd. by blosser Walmart). Not only was I greeted with professionalism and courtesy I was given a better deal than they quoted me over the phone just hours before. When I arrived, the place was well kept- neat and orderly. It was reassuring that the manager lives on site and frequently patrols the area while quickly addressing unfamiliar people or ones who strayed too far from their own unit with a friendly reminder that hes watching. They have plenty of options as far as indoor or outdoor availability on to storing your furnishings from an entire 3 bedroom house (R.V. and car too) or just enough space for your mini fridge and toaster. Angel and Daniel run a tight ship here and are very competitive with their pricing. I highly recommend storing here, or at least taking the walk through to see for yourself. Ive been here for almost 3 years with no issues whatsoever.

Comment: I highly recommend the customer service I experienced here. I drove up to Santa Maria late on Friday night and Extra Space was going to close for the weekend before I arrived. I called and asked if they could stay open for a little longer to allow me to check in and they stayed past closing time to let me check in.After checking in only one time the staff knew me by name and which unit I was in. They were extremely receptive to any concerns I had and were really nice and courteous. Highly recommend them for their great customer service.

Comment: Extra Space Storage on Farnel is exactly what my wife and I were looking for! We live in Arroyo Grande and I was comparing prices with all the storages in the area and I cannot believe how reasonable their prices are! Choosing them wasnt a difficult decision to do at all. I signed up immediately. Our main concern in search for a good storage was the price (check). The security (check) they have cameras everywhere. The availability (check) they are open till 10 with a manager who lives on site. We wanted to make sure that our stuff wont be exposed to any moister (check) We got an indoor unit. And of course good customer service (double check!) The staff there is absolutely amazing. They go out of their way to make sure their customers are satisfied. From the very first phone call to the singing on the dotted line, their customer service is wonderful, very upbeat and positive. I know it sounds like Im kinda laying it on thick... But I am dead serious! My overall experience thus far with them on a scale of 1-10 is easily a 10. Good luck finding a better storage!

Comment: Extra Space Storage is a great place to rent a storage unit. The units are decently priced and extremely secure. Not only do they do lock checks daily, there are cameras everywhere, and Amanda (the manager) lives on site. Amanda is such a sweetheart and does everything in her power to help you and make you feel like part of the family instead of another storage number. Im glad I chose extra storage, and will again in the future!
