Highly professional and friendly, knowledgeable, thorough staff. Answered all my questions before I even asked. Explained everything up front; no surprises. Staff is very easy to deal with and takes good care of the facility. It is clean and well-maintained. They also have several security measures in place, which gives one peace of mind when renting a unit. There is also a manager living onsite. I am very pleased with my experience here, and will rent again, should the need arise. They also have nice renting specials. I highly recommend Extra Storage Space in Canton. I’ve been satisfied customer here for a couple of years. The place is clean and secure! Dick is awesome and very thorough when explaining the contract and getting you all the information you need. I would love to own a storage facility. It’d be like getting free money compared to the work I do now being self-employed with my lawn care business. Maybe one day.
Rented out what I think was the largest unit they had to hold a 1500sqft+ home. We maxed out that unit for sure. Jeremy was easy to work with and explained everything well. We ended up extending an extra two weeks and it was prorated so we didn’t have to pay for an entire month which was really nice. Never had an issue with the unit or management. Would definitely use them again.
I always spoke with Deborah, she was so kind and always helpful, I would definitely recommend extra space storage to store your things. Very safe and secure.
I just called to confirm a unit at this facility and the manager Jeremy was very unprofessional. I was quoted a reservation online by a customer service employee Alfredo ten minutes earlier and Jeremy failed to honor that reservation. It is unfortunate because the Farmington Hills location went above and beyond to have my business. It was a guaranteed year rental but due to his careless attitude my business will go elsewhere.
We had an extremely pleasant experience here! The lease terms were laid out clearly and concisely, the men in the office (Dick and Jeremy) were friendly and attentive to our questions/concerns, and the facility was clean and obviously well maintained. I would totally recommend these guys!
I work with rent space multiple self storage unit facilities in different cities for my business. Ive never experienced better service than with the team at this location, in Canton. Phenomenal response time, willing to keep on the lookout for specific needs that I have, and generally kind, thorough, and flexible. Also, they were priced lower than the two other places in the area that I called.

I had a great experience. I was moving out of state for 12+ months and prepaid for a year of storage. After a month, I ended up selling my belongings and was refunded extremely efficiently. Jeremy was a great help, both at the beginning and end. Would highly recommend!
Wonderful place, great employees, so helpful.I am a truck driver I was putting one of my customers belongings into a storage unit. This required me to turn my semi truck around and back down the lane to the unit..The fine folks at Extra Space blocked traffic to allow this maneuver to be safely accomplished. I had such a great experience the first time I used them last year that I had to come back. Once again, Jeremy and Dick helped me find the best place they had available and I was able to save a little money at the same time. Rented here for a little over two years. Facility was always clean and I always felt my stuff would be safe. The staff was helpful, the on site manager had to cut a lock off my unit on a Sunday after I had lost my key. I was so thankful to be able to get into the unit that day. This may not be a great solution if you plan to rent for a long time as I got two rate increases in my time there, though they did waive one for me. Overall very satisfied.
Just started on my 1st month renting a space here, had a very professional setup and was very well explained all matters and issues.The paperwork was thorough and detailed as was all the information. Access to the facility is simple yet secure, space is clean and dry, all seems well after all snow and humidity has left the area.I hope all is well in my rental tenure in this company, will add some more feedback in next quarter.

Clean and secure grounds. Keypad entry to even get near the storage lockers and I believe someone is on premise at all times, so it definitely seems to be very safe.

This was a great solution for me and Dick and the team scored me a great deal. I dont like the nature of storage units when it comes to guessing timelines and the penalties that come with those when youre wrong (i.e. I moved out a week early with no refund) but thats more a reflection of the industry than this facility.Definitely recommend and would use again

Storing our extras here is the easiest part of our move process. Jeramy and Dick explained everything, gave us options, and answered our questions so we are comfortable with the process. The paperwork is all electronic and took just a few minutes . Really great!
Dick Paddock the Assistant Manager was super helpful. This was my first time using a storage unit and I needed information for my daughter to store here college dorm over the summer at there store in Washington DC. Dick went out of his way to answer all questions, showed me the storage space and made a call to Dc to get me a good deal. Not a friendly storage facility.Moved here from Oregon to help out our Son and Daughter in law who are in the health care service. And since their daycare closed they had no one to watch the children. Needed to Store a new 5th wheel we purchased. Have the original owner signed off title and proof of insurance showing the correct vin numbers. The problem is since all The state agencies are not open I cannot change the title into my name. They would not accept this as proof of ownership. Terrible company policy for a pandemic situation. Shame on you.

Felt too generous giving a 1, my rate goes up every 3-5 months. Others havent change on a unit Ive had over 15 years!!!!! Building is old, I have a double, both doors difficult to roll up. No access to trash dumpster unless you go to office. Store elsewhere.

Ive been a resident at this facility since October 10 and couldnt be more satisfied. The location is fantastic, grounds and units are well-kept and secure, the gate hours are great, the management and staff are helpful and friendly. There is no better place to rent in/around Canton, recommend highly!

( ( ( ( 3 STARS ) ) ) ) )I have rented from this storage unit for nearly a year now. 08/2012 to 03/2013. The staff is very helpful and nice. The grounds are well kept, well lit and safely gated. I did feel that my things were safe; however... it wouldnt be too much hassle for the person in the unit next to you to take a ladder and climb into your unit to steal things because there is a 1 1/2 foot gap at the top of this 10 ceiling between units...There isnt any available trash cans so be prepared to bring your own to store inside your unit. Honestly though future renters, the things mentioned above are nit picking... the ONLY reason Im writing this complaint is because they rented me this unit under the impression that my rent was not going to go up (at least for the 1st year). Well a few short months into my year-long stay, these guys hiked my rent up ((( $20 ))) dollars!!! If I didnt have so much stuff to move I would have transferred rental facilities immediately, just to show them I wouldnt put up with their shenanigans! Buuut as they must know better than I, its simply too much work to do for a measly $20... so I stuck it out. A plus though; I took my new found issue to management and they DID knock off the up-fee ONE time for me. The thing that got under my skin was the fact that these people dont ever warn you that your((( Promotional Period WILL end SOON ))). Thats a dishonest scam in my opinion. They know dang well that we arent going to move everything we own to another storage company over $20. Sucks...Anyways my renting peeps...If it werent for this little scam they are pulling with their unsuspecting clients then I would totally give these guys 5 STARS. But because of this rip-off scam I choose to rate them at only 3 STARS.So I have learned my lesson yall...* READ YOUR SMALL PRINT!!!* ASK QUESTIONS!!!* GET THE EMPLOYEES NAME!!!* COVER YOUR BUTT and if this company doesnt change the way they do business then I WOULDNT RENT HERE!!!I hope this has helped and/or forewarned future tenants...(((((( 3 STARS )))))))P.S.I will gladly remove my complaint if all my $20 monthly up-charges have been refunded to me. 8 )- J. The management staff at the Canton facility is friendly and helpful. The facilities are well maintained, clean, and well lit. It would be nice to have access to a dumpster so I wouldnt have to leave garbage for the facility staff to deal with.

2022-05-09The 10x10 are smaller than 10x10. The place is nice and clean. You can use a phone app to open gate. Don’t have to get out of the car of it is rainy, cold, or hot 👍. Provided lock is useful. Only annoyance is the light inside the storage and the size.

2022-01-29Extra Space Storage is a SCAM OPERATION. After signing up for a storage unit that had rates comparable to what I found elsewhere, I chose ExtraSpace because it is close to my home. After less than 4 months, I received notification that after reviewing market conditions that my monthly rate was increasing by more than 50%. It is CLEAR that Extra Space understands no one wants to move out of their storage unit during a Michigan January, and also fairly obvious that ExtraSpace hopes to catch people largely unaware of the increase (notified thru a small postcard mailing) because they have you set up as an auto-pay.If you are considering a unit at ExtraSpace, what you really have to determine is if you keep your unit for any length of time, are you going to be willing to pay 50% or more (some people with smaller units are getting notices on price increases more than double) than your original rate in order to continue storing your belongings at ExtraSpace in Canton?I am one totally dissatisfied customer urging you to stay away.
