Omg this place is phenomenal!! They werent kidding when they say your unit will be immediately available after you set up your lease online. I literally live like 5 minutes from the place & as soon as I finalize my lease & leave to go take some stuff over there it was already ready! I was even greeted & given helpful instruction on my lock from one of the employees there. My unit is very clean & easy to find. Definitely one of the best transactions Ive had with a company yet! Highly recommend coming here for your storage needs!! :)

Customer service is great! Jeff was very responsive to our needs and followed up quickly with favorable results. We appreciate his fast response. I only gave it a 4 stars because I feel the issue we called about probably should have been addressed as soon as they knew the unit was being rented out. However his response to us made up for it.
Jeff Morton could not have been friendlier and helpful from move in to move out. Everything I would go to my unit if he was out he always had a Hello and a smile. Only reason Im leaving is because rent kept going up and found something more in my price range. Area was always clean and hours were great.

Extra Storage Space is the most affordable storage company in my area. I’m living in a one bedroom apartment and I’m on a fixed income. I am in desperate need of an extra closet for the storage of those household items that I don’t need for everyday use, but also amount to clutter. Very friendly and knowledgeable. When called about space and described what I was using the space for, they recommended a different size from what I had picked out. I am sure glad they did !!! My items would not have fit in the original size I thought I needed. When I went to sign the contract, everything was very easy and streamlined. I really liked the security features too.

From the first phone call to seeing the unit and calling to secure the storage unit, Jeff was absolutely AMAZING! He answered any questions we had and went through the entire contract signing over the phone to make sure we were not confused or had any questions. Easiest process ever! 100% recommend!
We have used ExtraSpace twice. We stopped the first time because the rent had doubled over a 3 year period. We decided to go back to them Dec2020. The initial rent was $84 a month. We paid $98 in Nov 2021. We just received a notice that Decembers rate will now be $167 a month. This is an increase of 100% in 12 months. Just be warned that there is nothing in the contract that limits how often, or how much, they can change the rate. On my way to Lowes to buy a storage shed.
I want to thank Jeff for his over and beyond customer service. He reached out to me to make sure I was able to get a unit in my last minute timing. On this day his great customer service worker him til closing time and I’m very thankful for all his help!!

Love the accessibility of these units. Was only here for a month, but was in and out many many times during my moving process. The units are easy to get to and park beside making it a snap to load and unload quickly, and I like the simplicity of using the gate and that they were open until 10pm!

There was an incident just recently (water damage) due to a very bad rain storm. Jeff contacted me to alert me to the fact that some units may have been affected. Turns out, ours was one of them. Jeff was quick to apologize and remedy the situation by providing us with an alternate unit. He was under a lot of stress with the water damage problem, but kept his cool and dealt with the situation with calmness, kindness, and professionalism. Hats off to Jeff for being able to handle this situation with grace and still have a smile for his customers. :-)
I would really recommend renting a unit from here. I have used Extra Space Storage for two years now while moving from apartment to apartment. They have always been very friendly and helpful and they really try to give you the best deal that they can.

Colleen and Jeff are WONDERFUL examples of great customer service! It took less than an hour for me to secure a space and start to move my things in. The contactless contract system they have is AWESOME - easy and efficient. Colleen was SO helpful and friendly (even though I had to make multiple phone calls because Im needy) and Jeff made sure to help me find a flat bed to move my things. I called to get some information on a storage unit and was given details about sizes and ongoing specials so I could make the best choice. Jeff was great and very helpful. He helped me to transfer to bigger unit once I realized the one I selected was too small.
I rented a 15x10 unit here for three months. I have only had pleasant exchanges with the manager, Jeff. He is a nice, helpful person. I was confused about the date I had to be out by - it was the 29th but I thought I just had to be out by the end of the month. I had movers move my things from my unit on the 31st, and Extra Space Storage already billed me on the 29th for a new month. He was completely understanding and reversed the charge right away.I’ve never had any issues with the code or the gate. Every time I came to the unit, I could always access it. There were not any people back by the units that should not be there.I would rent a space from here again and recommend it to friends. I love good customer service and overall good experiences!
I had a unit here for almost three years always amazing service. Jeff and everyone in the office is super helpful and accommodating! The rates increasing with the units as time goes on is a bummer but to be expected I suppose and they always gave proper notification. Also they Usually have a furniture dolly around free of cost to help move items which is very helpful.

The best!Above and beyond on many aspects, I have used and seen friends use many storage spaces throughout different states this is by far the best. The set up was step by step and East and upon arrival the manager happened to be there and even though I said I didn’t need assistance he ended up at my storage unit to assist, which was greatly appreciated.

Used Extra Space Storage on Carpenter Rd. for 4 years. Each time I visited, the storage unit was always clean. Conveniently dollies were always available in hallways to load and unload boxes-no need to ask anyone in the store. Speaking of which, the staff was always a pleasure to chat with. Ike assisted me with my lease and was very professional. I was extremely pleased with the facility! Well maintained grounds and they keep up with the salt/snow removal as well as keeping it very clean. The storage unit pricing were the best in the area. I was happy with everything accept for not being able to get into the unit 24/seven or on Sundays, so I asked them to cancel My storage unit, I was told I should receive my refund within two business days , Im going to check tomorrow and see if my refund has been put back on my card , I never use the unit and I cancel the unit before I hung up the phone with the agent after booking the unit. Jeff and Chris are very friendly, helpful and professional. I wasnt able to utilize the unit for several weeks and they held the price and the unit for me until I was ready. They are more than happy to help...pallets are available as well, no extra charge.So far the experience has been fine and the unit is maintained well; salted and shoveled on the outside as needed. The insulation on the ceiling of the unit is torn in one spot, and the dust is a problem so cover your items well! Again, Jeff is always willing to help, good guy.

The storage space was clean and orderly when I swung by on a whim. Gated front entrance is accessible with a keycode, and there are cameras viewing the entrance as well as other areas. I barraged Jaclyn with a number of questions, but she answered them all very clearly and thoroughly, she didn’t make me feel pressured, and her friendly demeanor made for a comfortable and pleasant interaction. It was such a good experience, I ended up signing up that day anyways! Everything I could ask for in a storage experience.

As part of a retirement relocation from NW Indiana to SE Michigan, it was necessary to quickly find a storage unit in the vicinity to contain our belongings until we could locate and purchase a new home. I did the reservation on-line and when our stuff arrived, the unit wasnt suitable to off-load from the movers truck in a snowstorm. Jeff - the site manager - went out of his way to quickly find another unit that worked better and made the whole experience as smooth as could be. Hes a genuinely great guy -- helpful, and very professional. Thanks to him, Extra Space Ypsilanti gets my highest recommendation!

There are many storage companies closer to our home but Extra Space Storage has the cleanest, most secure, and professional service. The customer service experience has been outstanding and there are a number of different options for storage unit sizes and all at very reasonable prices compared to less impressive places in the area. Great experience with the services here. The staff, especially Jeff Morton, the manager, is highly personable and professional. The premises are clean and well taken care of. There were no last minute surprises in terms of the contract. Our unit is easily accessible.

I liked my experience at Extra Space storage but I felt like I should’ve been told about my being able to provide my own insurance I shouldn’t have had to ask. Now if she would’ve told me before we got the lease process that her insurance was actually worth while compared to mine then I probably would’ve bought it. After I had already signed my lease she told me that my insurance has a deductible and hers didn’t THATS A SELLING POINT GIRL UPSELL ME. But yeah it was fast we got the lease signed I loved how they showed me the unit and did a review right in person to sign it she’s not even from this property but knew a lot of about it so that’s great I would just grasp a better way of selling (: thank you and one last thing I didn’t like the fact that I had to pay before I even signed my lease that’s makes no since ? I should be able to look over the lease that I am signing before I pay anything as well as why do I have to do autopay that makes no since
Jeff was great and even amended my contract to get a larger space for a cheaper price (and climate controlled too!). I’ve rented here before and it was great, that’s why I came back.

Rented at Extra Space in January this year. Needed something with climate control and this site had availablility for me. I had a large truck coming to deliver my property to the site and the truck was able to get in and out with ease. Site was much cleaner than other sites we had looked into. Move and rental experience was seamless and easy.
Very nice place to use and store things at. Have multiple units. The Manager Jeff and Ike are both very helpful, on site and on the ball. They catch smaller things like locks not being locked properly. Great place.

2022-03-01I had a very bad experience with this storage place. Not only many mice, but also lots of stink bugs got into my storage unit after I locked my unit and left town, mice droppings are everywhere when I reopened the storage 5 months later, mice went in most of my cardboard boxes bite almost everything they like. Two luxury mattresses both are ruined by mice urine and droppings. I found two mouses homes with multiple mice inside, stink bugs were still alive mid-February. I was speechless when I first saw my entire houseful belongings were ruined like this when I stored them in storage.

Most importantly the manager Rob was……I’m speachless, I don’t know what to say. I wish more people were like him in this world .AMAZING person all around. 2022-06-20Total scam. They arbitrarily raise the rental prices. Started off paying $99 for my unit and didnt think much of it when the promo ended and the rate increased to $117.Without notice they raised the monthly rate for a 5x10 to $170. Will never go back.

2022-04-30Raised rates five times in three years, the most recent being a $70/mo rate hike from $151/mo to $221/mo for a 10x10 unit, citing market rate increases. Moved within a mile to another company for $100/mo., so Im not sure which market they evaluated, but you assuredly have better options nearby. Never open at the stated start of business hours any time I attempted to speak to someone in the office. Will never rent here again.

2022-07-14Was told at the end of a year of storage that there were possibly “bugs” in my unit and that I needed to let them in to treat the floor of the unit. No perishable items were stored in my unit-All furniture and boxed items for moving. When asked what type of “bugs” they stated they did not know. Called twice, same response. Let them in to treat. I moved out a month later only to find out it was a mouse infestation that was going on for a LONG time. Mouse droppings , damage, and POISON found all throughout my items. Lied to me and have had to keep my dog away to go through this mess. Left numerous messages. Was assured a response and NO call or follow up.

2022-07-21Everything was super easy. I was able to rent my storage unit online in about 20 minutes and was able to visit it immediately. Didnt even have to call anyone or visit their office. The unit was a little dirty but it wasnt terrible.
