This stay was very horrible, we got there on Saturday and had a 75$ Dollar holding deposit, and they had us leave early on a Saturday night because a few kids was in the rooms..they was so disrespectful they was so mad and they’re racist.. this was my worst stay ever. Moral of the story is, dont come to this hotel unless you goin straight to sleep or they’ll kick you out.
Update: breakfast was lacking from the previous time. Had a king suite this time and really liked the room layout. Theyre undergoing renovations soon, so that will really update this hotel. Ill be interested in trying it again once its complete!Room was clean. Breakfast had good waffles. Beds were on the small side. The pool has stairs which is great for small children, but the rooms have lots of low, loud cupboards and drawers. Overall is was a fair experience for the price.
The worst hotel stay I have ever had. Staff was very rude, sheets were stained. Our room had two towels for four people for a 3 night stay. When I asked for two more towels, I was given one. I asked for a towel for my son who was in the pool because there were none in the pool area and the woman at the front desk questioned me and then proceeded to follow me to the pool to verify for herself that there were none, yet when their extended stay tenants asked for towels they were given a large stack. We were there for a hockey tournament for my son because they were one of the stay to play participating hotels and they clearly should not have been. The front desk staff had zero tolerance for teenage boys sitting in the lobby talking, walking in the hallways, sitting in the pool area, etc. We were threatened multiple times with eviction for them sitting around talking. We were even told by a front desk staff member that she has kids and “they wouldn’t act like that”. Meaning act like teenagers who are trying to hang out with their friends in between games and at night in a hotel where the staff wanted them sequestered in their rooms so they didn’t have to hear or see them. Obviously this hotel should not be volunteering their services for hockey tournaments. Customer service was definitely not a priority.. we were made to feel like a burden and an inconvenience. Unfortunately it was a stressful weekend because we were walking on eggshells and dealing with dirty rooms and condescending staff.
This place was a hot mess! Check in time was 3pm we arrived at approximately 415pm room not ready . 15 minutes later room was ready and we were given a handicap room with limited space it was cold and Michigan so we had big coats and NOWHERE to hang them on the room??? Really . The room we had contained no closet and everything room item was “short “ to accommodate wheelchair bound people which neither of use had the disability. My mom who has bad knees and a bad back has to bend down almost to the floor to put her clothes in the dresser really ???? Everything about this room was off. We were not informed that we had been assigned this type of room or I would of taken my business elsewhere!! I reported my concerns to the manager, she totally missed the point and acted nonchalantly. So guess what we won’t be back to that hotel and I won’t be recommending it to any friends or family.I’ll go elsewhere where I am valued as a Marriott member. Thanks but no thanks Fairfield inn.
If this was my first experience with a Marriott I would never stay at the brand again. Very disgusting rooms and service. Manager Kim needs to find a position in which she likes. because managing a hotel is not her forte. The hotel needs a new manager and a new overhaul. The rooms were not cleaned well and when the issues were presented to the manager she ignored them and said is there anything else I can help you with? Yes, a refund!
The room was clean very nice staff. The only issue I had was the mini fridge in the room was broken. The fridge was old and I showed the woman at the desk who made a note to have it replaced. It didnt effect my stay but for a king suite at 495 for 2 days it would be nice to have everything working correctly. Traci was excellent even though we had to wait an hour due to our room not being ready on time. Overall I would stay here again. The only flaw was the mini fridge.
Decent Comfort | Good Price | Helpful StaffThis place has a good location and a decent price. The staff is very helpful as well - the AC in my room was not working properly, so the receptionist promptly gave me a different room. The breakfast is pretty standard. They also have an indoor pool and a basic fitness center. All the amenities are kept fairly clean.
Stayed one night for a child’s birthday, they wanted to swim. The pool was clean, there were towels available for use and it was quiet. They had a time limit for an hour but no one signed up so we got extra time. The front desk woman was nice and helpful. Overall experience was really good.
From the beginning this was the worst experience I’ve ever had with any hotel or motel. I understand this is a horrible time in the world but this hotel is so sadly understaffed. It was hard getting someone on the phone and when you finally do they are little to no help. This isn’t 100% the staff fault as they honestly just don’t know. Poor management when the staff can’t tell you a simple answer about a shuttle or early check in. Let me state that I was the maid in honor of my best friends wedding and that’s why we were staying in this hotel. I was told I would be on the list for early check in. I was also told I was not aloud to check in after the wedding. Well this all changes when they couldn’t get me early check in day of let alone at our actual 3pm check in time. After multiple phone calls by all of the bridesmaids and groomsmen going to the hotel we were informed non of our rooms were ready and we could check in later but it had to be before 1pm. I just don’t understand how our rooms weren’t even ready for check in. When I do finally get there the elevator and hallway smells of cigarettes. The room seemed fine until I found a long black hair on my pillow. So fun to sleep on my sweater. The real cherry on the top though was when the bride and her brother got stuck in the elevator. The guy at the front desk had to be woken up. He’s woken up and he was so useless and lethargic. Not really the time to be asleep. Maybe act like you care a little that you have guest stuck in your elevator. He had no key to fix it, the emergency buttons didn’t work and he had zero answers. Finally we told him he had to call the fire department or we would. Thankfully the fire department was helpful and got my friends out. The front desk clerk never apologized or said a word. We just went to bed. The mattress was some what comfortable but hard to sleep when the air conditioning unit sounded like it was going to break every hour on the dot. All in all the worst place I have ever stayed. Highly over priced and I wish I give 0 for some of the review. I will also be writing reviews everywhere possible so no one makes this mistake on their big day.
The person who assisted us through out the process, Kimberly Williams, was very rude and unprofessional. She diverted away from concerns instead of addressing them. And her way of diverting was by cutting me off to dismiss or by making passive aggressive statements. Also, my room could have been a bit cleaner. The headboard to the bed was filthy and there was a little bit of dirt in the jacuzzi. Please obtain more towels for this hotel. Each time we asked for towels, they stated they were low or didnt have any. My past experience with this hotel was immaculate in service and cleanliness which is why we returned, but this stay not so much. Questioning whether I will go back.
The most incompetent and unprofessional hotel agents Ive ever come across. Incredibly rude and would not assist in obtaining a receipt for a stay despite repeated requests. Consistent with the experience my colleague faces on site from the front desk agents and consistent with the other reviews on Google. Do yourself a favor and stay at any other hotel in the city.
The tub was dirty. The light fixtures broken. Clock not working. They dont offer housekeeping if you extend your stay. I was harassed by receptionist Bianca She accused me of keeping a door open after a little girl did it. I told her I did not. Then she threatened to close the pool down. She spoke loudly on the elevator about throwing guests out there room. The pool had nothing but dirt in the bottom. Explains why no one wanted to use the pool. Oh & the free breakfast is gone by 8. We wanted to check out the first night but Bianca told us we wouldnt be refunded for the next two days. She wouldnt even apologize. It seems like shes been getting away with poor service alot. Cause her boss was contacted & she wasnt trying to resolve the issue at all.
Everything in the hotel in our room was super clean and check in and check out super easy. The staff were wonderful and so accommodating. We used the Jacuzzi for our extended family and it was big enough and very clean. And the Suites were big enough for all of us together and spend time in our rooms. Great experience
We booked the hotel as we drove at around 10pm. We knew we’d be arriving late so we did mobile check in so the hotel knew we were coming. We had an infant and a dog with us, so this was the location we chose so we could have a two room suite for the infant to sleep separately. When we arrived at 1am, we woke the infant up and went to check in only to be told they had no rooms. They knew they had a problem but told us it isn’t on the list to call people that have reservations that they’re full. Had we known this we would’ve stopped much earlier, as we didn’t need to go all the way to Detroit but since the hotel looked to be perfect for us we figured we’d get there and sleep a little more. Unfortunately, there were no hotels with suites and allowed dogs nearby so we ended up at a hotel 15 mins away in one normal room…no one slept well. Marriott did nothing about it, and no one seems to care that this over-selling practice and not informing people when they are full before getting there is terrible customer service.
Very Pleasant stay. The young man at the desk Jordan was extremely nice and professional. He was able to get me upgraded to a suite with a jacuzzi for my anniversary. The housekeeping staff was very helpful and brought me towels on more than one occasion. Great get away.
The first room we were placed in was freezing. After sitting in the room for a few hours with the heat on high it was still freezing so we had to move to another room. When I picked up the room phone to call the front desk I noticed the phone was visibly dirty. Once we got to the new room we turned the heat on high and left so that it could warm up. Once we were back we tried to settle in but could not because it sounded like a bowling league was above us. All hours of the night it was nothing but noise. There was a dirty Wendys cup sitting outside our room window also. This was my first and last time staying at this facility. It was uncomfortable and unpleasant.
The room was nice, clean very clean. The bed was comfortable. The gentleman at the front desk was nice engaging helpful.Only issue was noise, the doors of the rooms in the hallway slammed so hard all night. The room above us seemed to be running back in forth in their room. It was hard to sleep.
This was a HORRIFIC experience! The jacuzzi in the room didn’t hold water, 2 of our 4 pillows had hair all over them and were told they couldn’t be replaced, the doors all around us needed to be SLAMMED to be closed (so sleep was nonexistent), the breakfast wasn’t ready at 7:30(states 7am on the welcome paper), when attempting to check out the front desk worker seemed like we were really bothering him and the big kicker my partner and I both had red splotches all over our legs after sleeping in the bed. Primary care doctor said they’re definitely bed bug rashes. Please stay ANYWHERE else! For $230 a night not remotely what was expected !!
I love the staff here. They are very professional and kind and CLEAN. 3rd time here in two months. My family and I have found relief from cabin fever here because of the pool and their cleaning policies. I can reserve a spot and know that they disinfect in between uses. Impressive customer service and clean facility. I also must add that Carlos, Ramone and their team were so nice to acknowledge by bday and made sure my stay was lovely. Thanks so much!
I would like to compliment the staff at the Marriott Fairfield Farmington Hills Michigan. My power was out and on short notice needed to find a place to stay for my family and I. Being a rewards member there was hesitation on where I was going to stay. From the time I arrived Carlos (Manager) welcomed us and made my family feel comfortable staying at the property. Providing information on new Covid-19 precautions that the company had put in place but still making sure the quality standard still remained 100%. The staff was friendly and courteous and really showed pride in taking care of the guest as well as the property. I needed to extend my stay and Kim (Manager) was so polite and helpful and made the process so smooth. She was also training a new team member and could tell from the brief interaction with the young man he also will be a asset to the company. I would like to thank the Marriott brand and continued success through these tough times!!!! Please feel free to contact me if needed.
Overall the hotel was clean and very quiet. The staff was also friendly and checking in was easy. The hotel is easy to get to from the freeway. The room was a good size and everything was clean. The shower had good pressure with two different settings. As far as the breakfast goes, it was pretty standard, but didnt taste as good as other hotels weve stayed at.
Let me explain by saying our stay was just out right horrible. My fiance, 1 year old daughter and I stayed here due to our apartment undergoing unexpected repairs that were only were given 3 days notification. So we really wanted to go somewhere with a cheap rate but decent and suitable for our daughter. This place has good reviews supposedly! We checked in last Sunday and up until Wednesday/Thursday is where things got hectic. The room for 1 was dingy like, the window in the room was not closed all the way the top portion was closed while the bottom half was like jammed cracked open it would not push in no matter how much force I used.It was a heavy draft, but due to the circumstances we were facing I decided not to complain out of being grateful for having somewhere to stay despite basically being out our apartment wrongly and not compensated for having to do so since they decided to do repairs without prior notice.Checking is was kind of unprofessional, usually hotels ask what floor youd desire, they did not put us on the top floor in a dingy room, but again said nothing because I was grateful to have somewhere to go. So back to the window issue...that following friday bugs began coming in the window due to a hole they were coming through according to my fiance which was true he had pictures and will be posting his review too.So the front desk attendant for the day was nice, We asked for new room, extra towels, and a compensated night she gave it to us.then when the other lady came in that night things got horrible. We are in our room relaxing the power goes off at 8:30pm on friday the only thing that worked was the heat thankfully because we had a 1 year old daughter and she was sleeping. But they said they wouldnt do anything about it until the following day...like this is a hotel an our room was the only room that went out of power along with the room next door. Those people had family with them in other rooms so they went to other rooms but us we had no choice but to leave. My fiance called front desk once it hit 9:00pm and told them could they compensate the next night as well since we had to be in the dark. She replies, no only half off tonight and no other compensation n will be done. We explained that earlier that day when we moved to this room from the bug issue the other front desk attendant told us we were compensated for this night... She called the other attendant and called back still stating that we could not be compensated only half off.I dont know what hotel logic they have but when guests have bugs infested and have to move to another room especially with a child, that should require a compensated night, period! So we told her how we felt and she said ,we can give you half off the night from the power outage, move you to another room or you can just leave.Like REALLY JUST LEAVE by that time its almost 10pm my toddler sleep and its 40 degrees outside about to rain and you mean to tell me I have to drag my toddler out in the cold to go to another hotel (which we did)We booked through third party so the rate was cheaper but their original rate was damn near $90 ...not worth it at all. The walls are paper thin! The carpet had stained in the first room, my daughter has to wear socks and long sleeve and pants because I was afraid the carpet would irritate her skin because her skin is already sensitive.I wore socks the entire time too I mean any any hotel I always have my slippers etc but to be in fear of my foot touching the carpet is absurd. So instead of taking the room they offered that came with no compensation only half off, we left !! They had no concern or care that we had a daughter at all! They just out right were unprofessional lazy and no regards of respect for their guests. I would never go back The management and employees they hire are the issue. I have more to say but I have reached my character limit 🤷🏼♀️🤬
Really bummed that this hotel did not workout. The staff was kind during check in to explain that there was no internet for 2 days, I had to continue asking if it was back up. The rooms are very outdated, wallpaper was peeling up from the bathroom walls. The workout facility was in poor shape. I will be looking to stay elsewhere my next trip through.
Initially our TV was not working and we reserved time for the pool but was not able to swim due to it had to be cleaned. My husband spoke with Kim the manager and she was very accommodating. She not only allowed us to swim after the pool was cleaned, got our TV working but she allowed us to check out later. Thank you all so much!! We will return.
We stay at this hotel several times every year and have never been disappointed. Our rooms have always been spotless and the hotel staff is exceptionally friendly. These beds are very comfortable, the showers are strong and hot and the heating unit works well. The hotel has a swimming pool, hot tub and exercise room. Breakfast is included every morning and Monday through Wednesday nights dinner is served at no extra charge. This is a nice, clean, friendly place to stay.
Got to hotel and they wouldnt accommodate us for late checkout. We where told that it was only a 2rd party offer. Ok fine, got to room liked it UNTILL the mattress was soaked in pee from previous quests. And to top off the staff not happy about us reporting the matter to them.
I made room reservations for a king size bed room for my in-laws. I booked as a member of Marriot Banvoy. I never saw the room but my in-laws took a picture. It looked like a double size bed. It was not a queen size bed as the final bill showed even though my reservations showed I booked a king bed. They said the room was narrow and long and right next to the elevator. What kind of a room were they in?! I am embarrassed for booking this room for my in-laws and I will not book with the Marriot chain anymore.
This place is an older building. But my Room was clean and the staff were so outstanding. They definitely go above and beyond for the comfort of the customer. And I loved how they abided by the COVID precautions. Even the cleaning ladies kept their masks on while cleaning the rooms
The customer service at that location was was terrible the first day but the ladies the next day at my checkout were nice. I stayed at the one in Troy the last time I visited and I will go back there from now on. I dislike bad customer service and that puts a strain on your business and the way it’s operated.
I was attracted to the hotel by their rates. Once I checked in I started to understand why it was so cheap. The pool was not available, and the public areas looked run down. The room itself was nice, except the walls are paper thin, and the other clientele were not very considerate. I overheard the staff complaining about the guests partying all night and leaving their rooms and the breakfast area a mess - I was there on a Sunday. This will continue until they start throwing some people out.
Great place and will stay again. Very friendly staff.Room was comfortable and spacious. I was upgraded to a spa room and used it once. The hotel also has a gym and a pool and serve breakfast. There were a few minor annoyances. The spa tub didnt work as intended. Luckily I didnt need to use it all the time but it was frustrating when I did. I was surprised that they didnt switch up the meat during breakfast. Both days had sausage no bacon.Beside that it was a great place. Close to a freeway and restaurants are nearby
We loved our stay here. The beds were very comfortable. The heater/air conditioner was tricky and we went from having a stuffy room to one that was too cold. Other than that, our room was great. The complimentary breakfast was pretty good and the area was very comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
When there was a problem with the height of the bed a stool was put in my room to help! Staff are always friendly and helpful. Reception is great and all staff members seem pleasant. We have been going here since it was built well over a decade ago and the renovations keep improving. The place is always very clean and the rooms are comfortable.
So much to say about our 2 night stay. I will start with the staff. TRACEY has our VOTE for EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR. 2 hours into our 4 hour trip home I realized I had left our hours we worked on their note pad in our room. Not only did Tracey hang up with me and go right to our room. She called me on her phone to explain it wasn’t on the night stand, but found it in the trash and sent me a picture of it. Every staff member I encountered asked if they could help me with anything and was very friendly. I CAN NOT express how great the staff is here. The presentation and cleanliness of our room was outstanding. To top it off, you get free breakfast and dinner with your stay. You can’t go wrong by staying here.
My family was forced to relocate temporarily due to an extended power outage. The front staff was excellent. They went out of their way to ensure we had a good stay. They were able to allow us to stay in the same room for a 2nd night at the last minute since we still didnt have power, even though I did not reserve a 2nd night. Then when I reserved a 3rd night, we were not charged when we cancelled the 3rd night - just very accommodating and polite. The room rate was an outstanding value and included a delicious breakfast (waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, juices, etc). The room was quiet, comfortable, and clean. The pool was a hit with the kids. Clean and comfortable temperature.
I had a terrible visit at this hotel first there was blood on the sheets and the second room it had not been cleaned properly because there was a big nasty stand on the table in the room and lastly there was no hot breakfast on Friday morning that I was promised so I was forced to leave a hotel early to go and get breakfast so that was a waste of money that I could have kept in My Pocket had the Fairfield inn did what they were supposed to do which was feed me a hot breakfast. Totally turned off by the entire experience at the Fairfield inn and will never set foot in another Fairfield inn anywhere because of this issue
I have never felt more welcomed at a Marriott before I stepped in the Fairfield inn thanks to management on hiring two of the best employees I have seen at the front desk MARTINA and CHLOE!! They are what made my stay so comfortable and accommodating. I was a driver for one of the sports team and when we arrived the lobby was filled with people they both stepped in making sure to fix any issues we had!! They remained professional at all times and they seemed happy to be working at this facility. Our rooms were very nice and clean. THE BEDS were very comfortable I did not want to get up. The breakfast lady MARY was on top of everything and mind you the lobby and breakfast area was filled with very hungry young boys, but that did not seem to stop her from greeting everyone with a genuine smile!! I would also like to Mention SOUSAN she is yet another asset to the company for her dedication to making sure everything is clean and taken care of. I can easily recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a hotel were customer satisfaction will always be met!
I Booked for the pride and joy couples package for the valentine weekend. My expectations was high only to be disappointed about the details of the package being false. The package states a bottle of champagne on arrival and we ended up getting a sparkling apple juice. Really? Coupled with the over priced stay fir the package was really outrageous. I was ok with paying such high charges expecting to have an awesome experience with my wife but it turned out to be a total waste of money. My wife was clearly not happy but she didnt want to show how disappointed she was in order not to hurt my feelings. We ended up staying 3 nights, we could hear loud noises from rooms next door, the jacuzzi was unkept. Basically, i thought i was paying for something sophisticated but it was below the package advert. Breakfast was great though.
The staff was friendly. I was referred to great restraints for dinner. The pillows were better than most hotels Ive stayed in. The rooms were comfortable but couldve used more sound proofing. They do have excellent shower heads. In all I was clean and well rested when I checked out.
When I first checked in the front desk worker I believe her name was Martina and she was absolutely very helpful and kind towards me, she walked me to my room and made sure I was all good. The room was spotless and the beds were very comfortable, I also really liked my room because I couldn’t here any loud noises. In the morning breakfast was amazing and very tasty, I love how open the seating area is for eating. I definelty recommend this hotel to stay at its very clean and the staff are very helpful and nice, I really enjoyed my stay and will forsure stay here the next time I’m back in the area!
Our rather large family recently stayed at this location. The rooms were tidy, clean, and stocked with the necessities we may have needed for our stay. We held our 2 year old grand sons birthday party in the common room which was the perfect set up. The staff and management were very accomodating during the party ensuring we had everything we needed. The entire staff including janitorial / maintenance were friendly and greeted us as we passed in the hallway. We enjoyed the variety of breakfast options that were complimentary. The staff made sure the items stayed stocked during breakfast time. There was always coffee and fruit available during the day. There was also a well stocked snack selection available for purchase. Our family enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and work out area. This area was always stocked with towels. We have stayed here in the past with some minor bumps that were addressed and worked out. However our stay this time met and exceeded our expectations on all levels. Thank you Farmington Hills Fairfield for a perfect stay and for helping us make awesome memories on our 2 year old grand sons special day. Kudos to you all
We live in town and wanted to get away for night. The staff is very friendly. The front desk staff was exceptional, and weve stayed many places. The hot breakfast is definitely better than most. The pool was a bit small, but my son didnt mind. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Overall, we had a great time and will be back. Great value for the price.
I have stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites twice a year for about 10 years, in connection with a regular meeting. Each time I have been impressed with the low-stress environment and considerate staff. The rooms are invariably clean; the breakfast is a great start to the day; the room rates make it a great value. The hallways are generally quiet and its easy to get a good nights sleep. I highly recommend the Fairfield Inn!
I would also like to add that although registration was not the best, she offered the next customer a bottle of water but not me, why is that? I felt as if my casual appearance wasnt good enough because the gentlemen behind me had on a suit. I was confused about this. I didnt check to see if the $75.00 was put back I just hope it out of respect it was. Thank you.
Recently stayed here for 5 nights to handle some family matters in the area. This place was a great value for the money. Enjoyed having a free breakfast each morning and the afternoon cookies were a nice touch. I will say the heat was extremely hard to adjust, it was either way too hot or way too cold but it was extremely cold outside during our stay so that could have affected things. Other than that nice hotel and easily accessible to our family in Southfield.
The bed was not very comfortable but everything else was great. I stayed here for an entire week receiving medical treatment. It was very quiet and the breakfast was great. Everyone was very friendly & nice as well. Coming home to a freshly baked cookie after being in a doctors office all day was lovely. My room had a street light right outside it, which made me have to use an extra blanket to cover up the gap which let light through. Overall, I would stay here again. Just wish the bed was more comfortable.
Very accommodating as we had our grand sons birthday party there. We had numerous rooms with absolutely no complaints. The staff was courteous and on top of any request immediately. Rooms were clean and stocked with necessities. The common room was a great set up to host our guests. Complimentary breakfast was good with a variety of things to choose from. Thank you Fairfield Farmington Hills for helping us make our grandsons first birthday celebration a success. Hats off to you....we will be back.
This hotel is a rock solid value for the money. Three of us stayed for two days in one room in complete comfort. The hotel was always very clean and the staff was always available despite it being a very busy two days there. The breakfast was very solid and provided a large variety of options. The Internet was relatively speedy and always available, even though we were using the free option. The location was also close to a number of excellent restaurants and shopping areas despite being a little bit out of the way of heavy traffic and congestion.
Room was very clean, but best of all Chloe at the front desk was very professional and friendly. She recommended two awesome restaurants for us to eat after long days at an art show. Was very nice to have such a friendly employee greeting us every time we came in. Great job Marriott.
Hotel is located right off I-696, but far enough that noise isnt a problem. The rooms are comparable to most Marriott budget hotels and have minimal, but modern amenities like a mini-fridge. My room was clean and comfortably sized. The sink was a little cramped. All hotel staff have been polite and have greeted me with a smile. Breakfast includes eggs, sausage, cereal, fruit, bagels, danishes, waffles, yogurt, juice, milk, and coffee.
We gave this hotel a second chance based on the managers word to give us a discounted rate for doing so. We were actually very pleased with our stay this time. The pool and hot tub were both functioning properly and we were given a very nice room. We had no problems at all and a very enjoyable weekend! Thanks to the entire staff for their hospitality and professionalism!
My husband and I decided to stay for the night to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary. We booked the king suite with a jacuzzi tub. For fun we decided to do the romance package. The romance package is described as rose petals, a box of chocolates and chocolate covered strawberries (my favorite). The romance package was completely underwhelming to say the least. Fake rose petals, tiny 4pack container of non name brand truffles and worst of all no chocolate covered strawberries! Instead of the strawberries was a plastic, like kids party goodie bag with 4 brownie bites. 😕 see pics. The room was nice, front desk staff was friendly and helpful, room and bedding were clean. Breakfast was very good as well. It was an enjoyable stay.
We were in town for a family funeral and several of us stayed at the Fairfield in Farmington. Everyone of my relatives were thrilled with the staff at the hotel. They were so nice and accommodating. The hotel is in great shape and the rooms are large and comfortable. We especially appreciated the curtains that did a great job blocking out the sun. The rooms are also very quiet and we could not hear noise from any other rooms. At the price point for a hotel, you sometimes get paper thin walls. Not here! The price was also very good. Best bang for your buck in the area.
The hotel is in a great location and is easy to find. The staff are helpful, accommodating, and courteous. There is a large variety of breakfast items. The exercise room equipment is top notch. My guest room was every bit as clean and pleasing as other hotels whose rates are significantly higher. The bed mattress was very comfortable and I had great nights sleep.
I would give 0 stars if I could. My fiance and I booked a room for 2 nights here. We got a king room. The bathroom was not cleaned good. Hair on the toilet, counter dirty. I found a toe nail in between the sheets, and after I laid on the pillow for an hour, I was very itchy. Also, walls are paper thin, I could hear everything and in the room next to us, someone was playing music all night which I couldnt sleep through. The AC in our room was also not working correctly. When I asked the front desk if we were to cancel the second night, would we still be charged, he told me as long as I checked out by check out time we wouldnt be charged for the second night. I told him about my findings he did offer to upgrade our room, but at this point I just wanted to switch hotels. We were already charged for the second night. They said they refunded us but wouldnt give us a reciept. The manager was really rude to my fiance about it. I do not recommend this hotel.
I have been a Bonvoy member for several years now and I have never experienced anything like this! I was charged a Loss & Damage Guest Exp on 2x separate 1-night stays at this property. NEVER in all my years staying in hotels as an adult have I been charged for damage! These charges probably go unnoticed in a lot of cases thats why merchants do it. Ill bet if you checked you will see that these types of fees happen often at this property. Since I havent experienced this before, I would guess these egregious practices are that of the actual hotel independent owner and not the Marriot chain itself. What I cant understand is why Marriot wont refund me or compel the owner to do it???Needless to say I will NEVER stay at this property again. I am also reconsidering my Marriot Bonvoy relationship as I am highly upset with how this has been handled.
Both queen mattresses were horrible ...old, wore out and lumpy. Also sheets would NOT stay on the beds.Second floor in pool building. We were given an ten dollar discount for our horrible nights rest. :( LolAlthough I must say everything worked in the room and it was spotless.:)You will enjoy the best fast breakfast included with your stay that we have had in a long time.Oh and they said they were in the process of replacing the mattresses floor by floor. If you get a good one its a great place for families and business personal as well
I had a wonderful experience here at the Fairfield inn in Farmington hills! The two young ladies at the front desk Martina and Chloe went above and beyond our expectations. They had multiple groups staying here and handled times of pressure in an efficient manner with a smile. My room was very clean and housekeeping did a great job with making sure we were comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others because I know they will be welcomed in and taken care of like family!!
This hotel has it all. There’s a pool, laundry, 24 hr. Coffee and tea, great breakfast with a good variety, exercise equipment, etc. The part we appreciate is the friendly and efficient staff. The people who work there make us feel welcome, right from the cleaners through the management. And if we ever had an issue, I’m sure it would be addressed. We’ve never had one. The quality of everything is consistent. And the location is quite convenient. We stay there whenever we are in the area. The beds are very comfortable and the tv and internet work well. It’s a pleasure.
I will start with the positives. The staff are friendly and the check in was smooth. My room was ready at 1pm. The breakfast selection was great. Definitely better than any hotel Ive stayed at. The negatives were the rate per night vs the hotels decor. This location is extremely dated. The carpets are old and stained. The hallways smell musty. My room Jacuzzi was loud and the tub was cracking on the bottom. The walls are paper thin. You can here every little noise.
Stayed here as part of a group booking for a wedding.Check in is at 3 pm. We arrived at 4:45, room was not ready until 5:15 or so. Even then, not cleaned properly at all. Everyone in our group had the same problem. The front desk staff was very polite, but clearly overworked and running ragged. There was hair left over in the shower, sink was not clean, floor was not clean, window was broken and would not shut all the way. Multiple room items in general disrepair, broken, etc.Only redeeming quality was the excellent water pressure in the shower, and how cheap the room was.
This property was fine for our two-night stay in Detroit. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our first room’s Hester was not working, so the staff quickly moved us right next door, which we appreciated as we had our one year old daughter with us. The decor is a bit dated, but the hotel and rooms were clean, which is my biggest concern. If in the area again, we would stay here.
If it wasnt for the great attitude and ambitious of the staff here I might not would have gave them 3 stars. But I had to get a room here due to a power outage and we had after the ice storm April of 2018. Upon arrival I was informed that at 2:45 I couldnt do it early check-in and that there were no rooms available? Only to later find out by another staff that rooms were available so I was offered an upgrade to the jacuzzi King and the room once I stepped in looks like I stepped back in time to the 70s !! The orange and triangle carpet was old and tattered and torn on the edges the jacuzzi was not cleaned looks like someones bathtub at their house had to call the front desk and informed them and one of the front desk guy came and personally cleaned it rather than us having to wait for housekeeping which really made me look at things a little differently that he would go out of his way and do that I thought that was very nice and it did a very great job! Pretty much the only updates in this hotel I guess our to the lobby and the bathrooms in the guest rooms. . The bed was okay! And as a Marriott Reward member I didnt get my requested High floor nor my phone pillows or extra towels I had to request those things. I have something called a managers appreciation dinner which was nice and it was free for the guess and it was some Italian food for me Italian carryout place only catch was you had to eat it down in the eating area. Was it able to go to bed really fast as the people above me sounded like they were lifting weights and dropping them on the floor for several hours and I called to complain about 11:30 or 45 p.m. and they didnt go to bed till about an hour later cuz I didnt want to continue to complain rooms very Hollow and dents every time somebody close their door you heard it very well and loud I think this hotel did some major renovation. The breakfast in the morning was really good although I missed having some hash browns or some type of potato. I was denied late check-out even though I wasnt able to check in at the appropriate time. I guess thats enough for now I would not go back here but the staff was exemplary very hospitable and considerate and always going above and beyond to make things better!
Id love to give this place a 5: the staff was very friendly, my kids loved the pool. The decor was attractive, a computer station was available for guests, my room was clean and welcoming. The only problem I had was with my mattress. The left side had obviously been used more than the right. Luckily my husband was not with me so I was able to move to the other, more comfortable side, and sleep well. I let the staff know and they promised to replace the mattress immediately. Because I dont know if this is indicative of a need to replace a lot of mattresses or just the one, I was unable to give a 5 rating.
The room was small. The king bed was undersized and uncomfortable. It caused back pain that lasted several days. The a/c was noisy and did not keep a constant temp. The room/bedding was dusty, and caused congestion. The bathroom design/layout is very poor. It was difficult to bathe the children. The pool was broken during our stay. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. Do not eat here. Go to a restaurant. I left hungry both days. They ran out of several things including coffee and silverware. The silverware was flimsy cheap plastic. The coffee, when available, was respectable. The parking lot flooded during a light rain. Park on high ground. I dont reccomend this hotel.
We stayed here over Thanksgiving for 3 nights. Check in was quick and very friendly. Room is normal sized and nice and clean. Hotel was reasonably quiet given location near highway. They could improve sound insulation between rooms, but couldnt most moderate hotels? The beds were comfy but very firm, which I like, if you prefer a soft bed, you may be uncomfortable. Great pillows. Safe area near shopping and restaurants. Bathroom is a split between sink and toilet/shower. One small issue with shower, I have poor vision without glasses and the shower floor is very sloped to facilitate drainage. This made me off balance a bit, fyi. They have a swimming pool and a Jacuzzi here which I did not see on website.Breakfast was good, normal offerings of eggs, sausage or bacon, cereals, fruit, waffle maker, yogurt, muffins, etc.I would absolutely stat again.
Pros: We checked in on Thursday, and they have freshly baked cookies! Love it. Just wish they had it everyday.Cons: Swim pool was a little dirty (I saw some hair). I didnt use the pool because of that, but not a big deal for me.The hotel was remodeled in 2013. Everything looked brand new to us. The gym was in good condition. The hot tub was nice. The room was clean, nice and in good condition. We stayed for 3 nights, and felt very satisfy with everything. Will definitely come back.
Everything was perfect. Staff went above and beyond. Service was impeccable. Thank you fairfield inn Farmington hills. We will always return and will recommend. Breakfast was so good with many choices. They have a complimentary dinner 3 days a week for FREE. Everyone was amazing. Thanks to the general manager Marina for training such great staff and providing us with immaculate service
The check in clerk was good - and pleasant and was good overall. The clerk next night through morning was NOT AT ALL HELPFUL. She was on the phone most of the time when I was asking her questions. Asked for help on several things, and the standard answer was No, and not willing to look up stuff, to be helpful etc. Was not willing to do anything to take care of guest needs. On checkout, same deal. The food staff was also grumpy and not helpful. Food was sub par compared to other Marriotts I stay. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable. The place was noisy. The outside noise in the rooms from hallways and outside the windows was SUBSTANTIAL. It was not a good experience. Internet was spotty or not connecting at all. I would not stay at a Fairfield Inn again, I think.
Highly disappointed that this hotel treats its customers so disrespectfully. It is a lovely property, but if you are unlucky enough to have a billing issue be prepared to spend MONTHS trying to get this manager to respond to you. As a Marriott loyalist who spends 75+ nights a year with them, I am absolutely shocked that they would employ a property manager who can’t take care of simple billing issues, doesn’t return phone calls, and blatantly lies to customers. There are several other brand new hotels just steps away from this one that I’m guessing would handle these situations much more tactfully and are more worthy of your business.
Booked our room a month in advance for a nice relaxing weekend. After checking in on a Friday, we learned the pool and hot tub were not in working order. Was not fixed by the end of stay on Sunday, either. A bus full of children were booked in the rooms directly above us and, despite asking the desk clerk to have them keep the running and noise to a decent level, nothing was done about it. Today, I noticed that the original rate that I was quoted when making my reservation (and I have confirmation of the reservation) is different than the final bill....yet no other amenities were used. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with our planned stay.
I found this location to be adequate for our needs. The location was good for my schedule. Front desk was above and beyond in helpfulness. The breakfast needed a bit of sprucing up. Nice pool to exercise in, not for laps, of course. Relaxing Jacuzzi and patio. Watch the TP and the coffee for refills seem a bit hard to come by. The rooms, although a bit dark are clean and comfortable. The employees are warm and welcoming.
Overall, the hotel was very clean and the employees were friendly. The breakfast was convenient although the coffee selection could be better. Our only complaint was that our room had doors adjoining to the next room that were cheaply made. We could hear everything in the next room even though the other people were not necessarily being loud; it was just due to the very poor quality of the doors. We tried to change rooms but there was a conference in the area and the front desk employees said that all of the rooms in the hotel were sold out. I recommend staying in this hotel because of the cleanliness and updated decor but I highly recommend that you do not have adjoining rooms.
Weve stayed at this hotel numerous times throughout the years and never have had regrets. Location is excellent. Rooms are always very clean and fresh and the staff is always pleasant. I would recommend this to any traveler - especially with families as they offer all the amenities - pool, fitness center and free breakfast! Always a win!
I bring my kids here to swim because they are on break from school for a couple days and the pool is closed the whole time because someone got soap in the pool. I was told it would be open in the morning, still not open. I asked how we could be accommodated They said we could check out an hour late. The complementary dinner and breakfast was honestly horrible compared to hilton hotels. The people above us were arguing all night and stomping so we did not get to sleep until the middle of the night. I would not recommend this hotel and will not be staying here again.
Great place to Stay! Clean rooms. Warm swimming Pool! Delicious Dinner on Tuesday and Wednesday! Great breakfast! Reasonable rates. However we encountered a very awful situation when we were staying there some how my wifes debit card was charged almost $700 for a 2 night stay! Which almost ruined our honeymoon. The manager was very accommodating. However I contacted customer service to make sure the issue is resolved. Another issue we had was the sign to the inn was very hard to see off Stansbury street. Our uber drivers dropped us of in the hotel next door. Other than that this is a very good place to stay! I highly recommend it.
I stayed at this Fairfield Inn Farmington Hills for 4 nights. The room was well presented and clean. The overly large but had the necessary amenities i.e. desk, micro, fridge. The staff was very friendly making check-in easy. Convenient, quiet location with easy access to 696; nice selection of restaurants nearby. Only complaint was the mattress was uncomfortable. I was told by staff that all king size mattresses were scheduled to be replaced. Would definitely stay here again.
Terrible stay!! I reserved the Whirlpool suite to relax. I get to the room and after unpacking. I tried the whirlpool but it didn’t work so I called front desk. Someone was suppose to come up to fix it but after awhile when no one showed up. I went to the front desk to ask for another room. I get to the second room and that whirlpool was broken, front desk person “totally forgot” it was broken. So I get to the third room whirlpool works but no microwave!!!!!! I wasn’t offered anything for my inconvenience!!!!! Horrible experience!!!!
READ this post for the truth on this hotel. Also search the similar 1 Star reviews (as I did), of this particular hotel and you will read very similar stories. I arrived on business trip only to find they have given my RESERVATION Room to another person. It was late (1:45am), with a long flight behind me, I arrived to get some needed rest. I was shocked to hear they had given my reservation away. I had no car as I had arrived by Uber. I sat there in disbelief. The receptionist did virtually nothing! She didnt even call a manager stating she wouldnt wake them and that this was not important enough. Sad, but true. This place is not worth the bricks they used to build it .... Spend your money at a hotel you can trust.
My family all came to visit bc of a funeral. We wanted a clean room and nice pool. Our kids has a blast swimming! The pool was small but warm. The rooms were small (small bathroom counter), but were up to date and clean. Waffles and coffee were good. We were happy with our stay!
Very nice friendly front desk staff However, Absolutely one of the worst Fairfield in the chain. Breakfast is only so-so. They use so much bleach to try to keep the place clean that my allergies were affected the entire time I was there. Cleaning staff launders even the towels that you hang up to try to save water.
Dont let the plain exterior of this building fool you, however, in Spring, Summer and Fall, the flowers are INCREDIBLE! The landscaping is beautiful and perfect! It has very clean, modern rooms with extremely comfortable beds, and this is from a woman who has a neurological muscle disease, so the bed was incredibly comfy!! They have a VERY professional staff, educated in Hotel Management. A bar and lounge on the inside with food available for purchase. Breakfast was unbelievable on a Sunday! Salt water pool, I was not brave enough to try, but NO chlorine stench!
Check-in was fast and the woman who helped us was very friendly. We got a great room on the first floor... we had a large whirlpool tub in the main room surrounded by mirrors on two sides. Fabulous surprise! The king-size bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows. The room was clean and also included a refrigerator. This Fairfield Inn gets two thumbs up from me!
The manager and front desk lady were extremely helpful to me and my family when I came in at night for a wedding. I had a free platinum member gift and they allowed me to take two waters vs the one. They went out of the way to make us feel at home. Also the waffles were excellent in the free breakfast buffet!
We stayed at Fairfield Inn & Suites Detroit Farmington Hills while visiting a dying relative in Beaumont Hospital, Farmington Hills. The hotel was conveniently located. It was clean, well-maintained, and the staff were excellent. Check in was easy and we were made to feel very welcome. Our room was clean, spacious and the bathroom was well appointed and spotless. When we had a small problem with the phone, it was resolved immediately. Internet service was strong and reliable. The breakfast provided was ample with a lot of variety. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Very nice for the money. Everything was clean, and check in took 2 minutes. They allow 18 year olds to check in here, it is one of the only places in the Detroit area to do so. Housekeeping was great- they picked up our room each day of our stay, made the bed, and refreshed toiletries. I would definitely return if staying in Detroit again!
We stayed last summer. A clean room and a decent free breakfast. The staff let us grab some food early because we had to leave early in the morning. We didnt have problems parking our classic car in the parking lot overnight either. Its nothing to write home about but I would stay again.
Overall the hotel and staff were great! Room was VERY spacious; water pressure was great; whirlpool in room was great; amenities were great; it was very quiet. The only thing that was not good was the bed - it was hard as a rock and uncomfortable. It took me forever to get to sleep and was hard to stay asleep (kept waking up due to discomfort) and I really needed a good, solid sleep because I had all-day Zumba instructor training the next day.
I requested an early check in and it was granted. We were attending a wedding nearby and wanted a place to stay. The Fairfield let our group check in early and provided a shuttle to the hall where the wedding reception was held. The people at the front desk were courteous and friendly. The rooms and hotel itself was clean and comfortable. My room was clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the shower worked very well. I was happy with my stay and found the cost to be reasonable. I would recommend the Fairfield Inn to everyone.
As a frequent business and leisure traveler, I love stay here. The location is right off the freeway and in a nice part of town with restaurants and shopping nearby. It has been recently remodeled and is looking good, nice decor, simple and clean looks. Staff is very friendly and take care of anything you may need almost immediately. Felt like a very efficient operation to ensure a exemplary guest experience. Highly recommend!
Ive stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Farmington Hills over 15 times for a semi-annual Board meeting. My stay is usually four nights. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast is very nice. The lobby is very conducive to gatherings which makes my stay more enjoyable - having a comfortable (and free!) place to unwind with colleagues after the days business is finished. The staff is extraordinary in their efficiency and kindness! And all for a very reasonable rate!
The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good too. Didnt get a chance to try the swimming pool or hottub but they seemed nice tooRandom side note: This hotel has very high water pressure! Flush one of the toilets and you will know what I mean!
I made the mistake of staying at a different hotel when I first arrived in Detroit. I regret this geatly. I immediately switched to Marriott Fairfield and they were able to accommodate me for the remainder of my stay. I felt so warm and welcome from the moment I walked into the door until I checked out. The staff was so friendly and provided everything I needed. The breakfasts were always great and helped start the day even with the cold days and the 24 hour coffee/hot coco was awesome. I have learned a great lesson that you get what you pay for and I will always stay with Marriott! Thank you Fairfield for saving the trip!
We needed to be in the area for a Bowling Tournament. As we soon found out at a lot of things where being held in various locations. We had a hard time finding a hotel that could house all of our group. But she did her best to get us the 9 rooms that we needed for our group. She is just a doll. Very nice. Did a great job. Once again, THANKS TO DANA.....made the stay even better.
The Fairfield Inn was a very nice, convenient place to stay for all our needs. We also had the most comfortable bed and slept very well. The place is SPOTLESS! (... and Im a stickler for that)! The pool is adequate for exercising when no one else is in it, and the outdoor patio off the pool was a lovely, and welcome shady spot to sit and enjoy a second cup of coffee. Very pleasant front desk person who was very helpful. I would definitely recommend the Fairfield Inn and would stay here again.
I stayed at this hotel for three weeks while my daughter was receiving specialized therapy. We enjoyed our stay. It was nice to have the continental breakfast and the microwave and fridge. We had a suite so I was able to work after she went to bed. The room was clean and the staff was great. I would recommend this property.
Front Desk clearly understaffed, we waited at least 15 minutes, before we were able to be helped. The gentleman was very polite, but clearly frazzled. When we arrived, 2.5 hours after check in time, our room was still not ready, and we had to wait another 35 minutes while housekeeping quickly slapped it together for us.Unsurprisingly, housekeeping neglected to clean the shower properly, leaving hair and other dirt behind. The room itself was in so-so condition, with the curtains falling off of the window. The window itself was broken and would not close all the way, so we heard outside noise all night. The closet knob was broken, the carpet was poorly vacuumed, the foyer and bathroom floor tile was sticky and broken in multiple places.Overall, very poor experience. If we had not been staying overnight for a wedding, I would definitely have left immediately and found somewhere else to stay.
This is a low-cost place, but you get what you pay for. The free breakfast is totally inadequate in terms of quality and choices. the place was noisy at night, including late when you might want to sleep. The staff is helpful and friendly, but that only goes so far when you compare it with the whole experience of staying there.
I paid in advance using credit card points. When I checked in they made me swipe my card as a hold, no charge, just in case of damages. After I checked out they accidentally charged my card $153.86 trying to get me to pay twice. I called my credit card company and reported them.
The staff a the Fairfield Inn is incredible. They go out of their way to help your stay perfect. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The continental breakfast is good and has a lot to chose from. The pool and hot tub are relaxing and great after a long day. I definitely enjoyed my stay here.
This place was amazing, they had everything my family and I needed. They were very accommodating and polite. One thing I would suggest for breakfast eaters is to go down at least 1.5 hours before it stops because they dont keep the food coming out until the end. But if thats the worst thing that happens at this hotel, ill go back every time. We loved it.
Loved this hotel.very nice staff. Ali b night audit was so helpful, i arrievd late night and was starving and tired. Ali offered me food which i was missed at the dinner. At check out front desk Manager Martina was soo nice and friendly. housekeeping was perfect. breakfast and dinner was awesome. i will be staying here in future.
They stole our money! Arrived at 1am, they charged 2 nights to our card before informing us they had to hold another 40 for just incase.... We didnt have another 40. Would not budge! So he supposedly refunded our money. Went to the Comfort Inn down the road and explained the situation. They were cheaper AND unlike what the other front desk guy said at Fairfield about the extra charge being industry standard, they do NOT charge ANY fee on top. Because the money was not back on our card because the idiot put the transaction through without informing us of the extra charge our card declined at our new hotel! Guess what?? THEY GAVE US THE ROOM ANYWAY AND LET US SORT OUT THE DETAILS LATER! ITS CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE! LEARN SOME! AND GIVE US OUR DAMNED MONEY BACK NOW! The front desk guy was an absolute jerk about the whole thing and showed NO customer service skills. He needs to find a new job and some humility.
I’ve stayed at multiple Fairfield inns as I do a lot of traveling for work. This location in Detroit just didn’t meet my standards. This trip was for pleasure/leasuire unlike my typical business trip. This location did not let me upgrade we had booked a king room and I wanted to upgrade to a jacuzzi room. I was willing to pay for it but was told since i didn’t book directly with Fairfield and used a third party that no upgrades were allowed. I’ve never heard this before from Anytimes I’ve stayed at a fairfield. I just didn’t have a properly functioning hotel. From broken elevators to unkept rooms with no towels. The elevator was down for 2 days on a weekend. When we asked the host when it would be fixed she just said “we’ve called Maintence”. Luckily our room was near the stairs. But it was annoying to carry luggage’s down the stairs on the day we were leaving. Their breakfast wasn’t fresh or updated quickly for the demand of guests. Typically I’m use to fresh fruit and a nice breakfast at Fairfield. This location had old spotty fruit with food that was picked over. This was two days in a row as well. So I just feel as though that’s not an important thing for their staff. Along with making sure the elevators work. I typically enjoy staying at Fairfield’s but this weekends trip has got me looking at other hotel brands instead for my next trip.
I’ve stayed at this hotel several times the manager Tracy double billed my card several times whenever and however she wants very rude lady. Chloe and the kitchen staff that help are very professional friendly and considerate ...please be careful pay attention to your billing and check your rooms to make sure they have been cleaned
I can NOT believe there were BLOOD stains on my sheets the second room we were put into had not been cleaned properly and the HOT breakfast I was promised verbally as well as in black and white was a joke why because there was absolutely nothing HOT about the breakfast
We stayed at the Fairfield in Farmington Hills during our trip to the Woodward Dream Cruise. I was pleased to find an open reservation within a reasonable distance to the event. I did learn at check-in that the hotel was completly booked for Friday night. The hotel staff was helpful and kind. The room appeared up to date and all hotel facitilities appeared clean at checkin. The internet worked smoothly with the three devices our room had running that evening. The following morning, the breakfast area was crowed and not as clean as I would have liked but with a full house some allowances could be made - Maybe if there had been two attendants for this area in the morning it would have run smoother.
The desk attendants were nice, some more than others. They have 1 elevator and their maintenance person decided to repaint the inside of it with black spray paint while people were riding in it. The fumes made my niece sick. The next time we got in it there was wet black paint on our clothes. They dont run the heat in the hallways in feb and it is freezing when you have to leave or travel to your room from the staircase or elevator. Not much to be desired from the in house marketplace and no alcoholic beverages onsite. They definitely should consider adding chocolate milk or chocolate syrup to the breakfast venue. The hotel is clean and always smells very nice. There is an indoor pool and small workout center with nice equipment. Minimal parking!
The hotel was beautiful inside! We loved our room. The service was wonderful, especially Dana at the front desk. We felt very welcome and comfortable to stay here. Will stay again. There was many things to do around the area! You are never more than 15 minutes from great restaurants!
DO NOT STAY HERE! MARLA IS THE MANAGER. This hotel is a joke. The manager should never work in customer service. I booked a block of rooms for my wedding 2 months ahead of time. They offered a free shuttle from the reception hall to the hotel. That is the only thing they got right. I informed the manager several times that I was paying for 10 of the 15 rooms that were booked. I even offered to prepay for the rooms so there would be no issue with the guest checking in prior to me and my groom checking in. The manager assured me that there would not be any issue. On my wedding day I spent 40 min to 1 hour of my photo time trying to resolve my guest not being able to check in. Apparently they forgot to have me sign some paperwork and wanted me to come up there to take care of their mistake. As if that was not bad enough the front desk guy called my husband and my room demanding that my husband come down stairs. When my husband did go down the front desk guy informed him that he was receiving noise complaints and asked my husband to look into the situation. Upon my husband investigating the noise issue he found out it was two rooms who were not part of our group..... Something the front desk guy could have easily realized if he took two seconds to do his job instead of rudly disturbing another guest. The morning of our stay I was eating breakfast with my parents discussing the rudeness of the staff. The front desk lady yelled across the lobby threatening that if I didnt stop talking about the poor customer service that she would call the police and have us all thrown out for slander. Its been almost 30 days and I am still working with Marriott to get a refund.
We always judge our stay at hotels by the cleanliness of the rooms and facilities in general. Our stay at Fairfield Inn & Suites (Marriott) in Farmington Hills, MI was awesome. We felt like we could eat off the floors. Our first choice for hotels is always Marriott and the Fairfield Inn & Suites have been excellent. You can book without any doubt. Youll have a great stay. Also the facilities and amenities are awesome too.
Was told my card didnt work as a deposit on the room. Went got cash to hold room having to pay an atm fee just to find out my card did go thru and was double charged. Call they say oh youre money will be refunded back on the card. Terrible I mean terrible way to conduct business
We booked a block of rooms and shuttle service for our daughters wedding. It was the most stressful and unprofessional experience that I have ever had.... in my life! I did a phone and in-person walk through of the hotel discussing our needs with Grace the Director of Sales. She assured me that she could handle the transportation/shuttle and the block of rooms. I even questioned her about a recent bad review and she blamed it on the guest. Long story short.. We never got a correct contract for the block of rooms after many, many attempts by me to get one. There was a huge lack of communication and response from Grace. I called asking to speak to the manager and she intercepted the call twice. The evening before the wedding, she sends me an authorization to charge contract for the shuttle service that was completely BLANK. I was instructed to return to her ASAP because she was trying to go home! The shuttle forgot 7 people including the bride, groom and us. Now we are in the process of begging for the Marriott points that we were told we would get for booking a wedding. Again, there is a total lack of response. My advise is Do NOT use this hotel for any wedding function or at all. It was an unnecessary nightmare.
Normally, I stay in Hilton properties, but one of the people in our party made a reservation here and in the interest of convenience, I booked a reservation as well. I was not disappointed one bit. The room was comfortable, although a little small, the staff was helpful and breakfast the next morning was great. There are plenty or restaurants nearby and we were close to major highways in the area. You wont be sorry if you make a reservation here.
I stayed for 4 nights in November. The value provided by the inn is tops. It is a basic facility but everything is clean and totally satisfactory. The staff is exceedingly capable & friendly, particularly evening staff of Marina and Brandon. I have stayed here twice a year for over 4 years. Each stay has been equally good value.
The staff was not friendly and lied multiple time during our stay. The room had a very unpleasant smell. To add insult to injury we called multiple times to front desk about people( kids) jumping and running above us at night, only to be told their was nothing they could do about it.(How about tell them to sit down and behave!) Worst night of sleep ever and I was treated like I was not a guess paying for the room. The upside side was the girl who work the desk when we left Sunday morning. She is the ONLY REASON I’m giving this place 2 stars. Otherwise it would a zero stars.
I have stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Farmington Hills. It has always proven to be adequate. My last time there in April 2019, the bed was obviously in need of a new mattress. I was able to make do as my stay was only 2 nights, but I would consider some of the various alternatives in the area on my next visit.
I am write or days about this place! Great hotel service was super. The staff is very friendly. Rooms are clean to perfection! Only thing I didnt like It was as raining when I came but thats not the hotels fault! Okay had to throw in a joke, but seriously guys go check this hotel out and you will see why I fell in love.
*** Bugs***Me and my boyfriend booked a room with a jacuzzi tub for tonight and when we got to the room we pulled back the sheets there were hairs and the sheets had stains and the tub had dirt in it. So the guy moved us to a different room. As soon as we got into the next room I looked the blanket and there was a red bug crawling on it. We appreciate the guy trying to help us and the customer service definitely isn’t the issue here. But never again will we be booking at this hotel.
Cost too much, if the daily rate was half of what I paid, that would be a great value. The advantage of being a Marriott member, will allow you to request a late checkout. For $100 a day for 3 days was tight on my budget a bit too much. There was no close by convenience store.
I have a semi-annual meeting near the hotel twice a year, and Ive probably stayed here about 18 times. Every time, the staff is incredibly nice and helpful, the hotel is clean and comfortable, and the breakfast has lots of good choices. Ive been very happy at this hotel every time, and I would definitely recommend it!
We were charged a higher rate than everyone else in our 20 room group. When I asked for our rate to be adjusted, the manager refused. But the hotel was nice, clean and the night manager was very good. Because I feel they were not fair with respect to the room rate, I would not recommend this location.
We arrived for a 3 night stay at this hotel and found the the beds somewhat hard. The pool was closed all 3 nights we were there because of themirky waters. Said they were going to fix it, but never did, but did give us the aok to jump in an hour before we left.No oj until the last day. Drain was plugged, but never fixed. They were friendly up front, but follow through led something else to be desired. This is an older hotel and see no future sign of renovation. Outdoor landscaping was nice.
I stayed here for 16 days and had several issues that were unsolved. I also experienced 4 consecutive days of no housekeeping service. The shower curtain has plastic hooks instead of the customary metal, that allows the curtain to remain closed. Everytime I took a shower the floor was drenched, because the curtain would not close.
We stayed for a long weekend to visit family in the area. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The front desk staff were very friendly and informative when we needed advice on local. We had fresh fruits, coffee and water in the dining area all day and night. The breakfast was nice and fresh.
The price was right and the hotel service was generally quite good. The breakfast was good with real eggs and a variety of meats. The attendant, however, failed to empty the lone garbage can when full causing gusts to leave their refuse on the nearby stone shelf or the floor. There should be more than one garbage can.
A nice hotel. The wifi is free they have a faster one you can pay but you probly will not need it. They have some neat rooms some of which have a big bath with the jets in it right in the bedroom felt nice; they also have a shower in the bathroom as well. Pool was clean. Few nice resturaunts near. Had a problem with the heater in a room got us a new room no problem. The two clerks we dealt with were nice and attentive. Beds are not bad i slept on it rather well. Overall it was a nice place to return to during our few hectic days around here it is not the most amazingly fancy hotel but if ya want a nice comfort and clean filling room without dropping too much on it try this hotel. Hope this helped yall some.P.S. We booked at the radison near here first but there were alot of drunks loitering also when we went on the elevator it went up one floor it stalled and fell back to first floor only to be met with a unprepared room we promptly left while making jokes about ghosts and movies.

2022-05-171 bed king size; 5 nights. Had issue with bathtub at first but manager went to fix it asap and moved me a room over while they worked on the other room.Place was busy from comic-con event traffic, but it wasnt noisy, even on the first floor.More of a Courtyard guy myself instead of Fairfield, but the experience here changed my opinion. Great experience overall, would stay again.

2022-05-22The hotel is getting ready for a full remodel and honestly it needs it. The bright spot is the front desk staff. Super friendly and knowledgeable. But overall it is centrally located from downtown Detroit and the suburbs. Very satisfied for the price. Management should give some raises to the front desk, they deserve them.

2022-05-17I haven’t even left the premises yet but I felt compelled to type this review. From an aesthetic standpoint this hotel is easy on the eyes. Unfortunately that’s about it from the apathetic check in who didn’t even tell me what floor I was on. Had to discern that from the keycard holder, they couldn’t remember if they gave me the welcome letter either. Once I got too the room the set up is really unique in a good way but boy do I hope you get the top floor or like feeling like an extra in the avengers movies because I’m pretty sure Bruce Banner(Hulk) stays in this hotel. Because it sounds like someone is jumping around on the roof and fighting for their life. Woke me up not once but twice. The shower sets the smoke alarm off so I hope You like cold showers. The list goes on but fortunately fun activities outside the hotel have arrived

2022-05-26My bed had hair in the bed we asked for new sheets, the people next to us were super loud! And the people about us were loud as well. The breakfast was nice, the morning front desk Lady was nice. The lady from the evening shift wasnt so pleasant. She didnt want to give us another blanket. Our shower curtain wouldnt stay in place, which caused a lot of water to get the bathroom floor wet,so we asked for more towels and the lady didnt want to give us any more. I couldnt understand why she didnt. Seeing that I had explained to her the problem. We stayed two days for so of course we showered and needed more towels.

2022-06-17Front desk professionalism left a bit to be desired. Victoria was the person checking us in. I couldnt understand a word she said . I had to keep asking to repeat. Then we were supposed to be paid for by the company and Victoria skipped right over that and said we need a credit for incidentals. We checked out the next day and our card was charged for full room and we were told the manager Heather would handle it on Monday. I had to call the hotel every day for a week solid if not more to get results. I didnt feel like a valued customer at all . They were not going to refund my money. Horrible customer service.

2022-02-06I had a suite. The Kitchenette was in the bathroom area. The screens were all tore up. The room was very outdated like it was in the seventies. The hot tub, in the pool area, only has one jet working. Beds were comfortable. Front desk employees, were nice. 02/01/2020.

2022-03-19Terrible customer service. Dirty hotel. Do not trust the pictures online. Do not book online. I booked a king bed jacuzzi suite on their website and when I arrived all they had was a double queen room. No fridge. Dirty hallways. Dirty walls. Clerk tried to tell me it was my fault for not calling to reserve, which I did attempt but was on hold for 20 mins and the automated message said to book online for best results. But its my fault.

2022-05-30The front desk staff when I checked in night of Thursday May 26 were very rude. Instead of welcoming me, they reminded me of all the ways they could evict because I had my dog with me. Just a heads up, they dont have a water dispenser and expect you to purchase bottled water. They dont tell you that the hot tub is also broken. They refused to give me extra towels and basic items that should come with the hotel stay. Basically got nothing but threats during my welcome to the point Im still surprised I stayed there. The next morning, and every morning, the housekeeping staff were yelling and bickering unnecessary loudly and yelling at each other across the hallways and in rooms. Extremely unprofessional and wouldnt recommend it here.

2022-06-07The receptionist at the front desk is very rude. My nephew had a birthday party for his daughters 1st birthday.... She threatened to call the police on us because she said we were being too loud. There was another party going on and she didnt complain about the noise the guests were making! I guess it was based on the color of our skin!🤷🏽♀️ We were forced to leave. Never will I patronize them again nor recommend this place to anyone!👎🏾

2022-03-29A decent place for an basic room. Room was not white glove clean by any means, but very comfortable, as you should be carrying your disinfectant spray and wipes with you in this day & time. Stay here was very quiet, an added plus. Staffers are friendly, courteous and attentive. Their internet (WiFi) connection had only the free option available; the upgraded bandwidth option was not. Well be undergoing a remodel shortly and will be able to offer it once completed. Hmmmh, I was told the same thing when I visited here 5 months ago. No remodel yet. No upgrade bandwidth option yet. Now, we all know that you definitely should be using a VPN with any public, unsecured WiFi connection. That being said, your free basic WiFi connection will be greatly slowed after the sharing with other users and then securing your connection with a VPN. Depending on your access needs, this could be a deal-breaker.
