This hotel wouldnt waive their 154 dollar cancellation fee because I realized I booked the wrong Fairfield Inn in flint. The one I was supposed to book is in Grand Blanc.I am very disappointed that they were too greedy to approve despite needing to rebook at the same hotel chain in the same greater Flint area.Whatever good it might do, I will be sending a letter to Marriot telling them how I am deeply disappointed that this location would rather alienate someone that stays at Marriot properties frequently rather than show some common courtesy.
Rooms werent the greatest there was pee stains on the wall behind the toilet in the bathroom the only good thing I had to say was breakfast and her name was Linda and I was in a walker and she helped me so much that I thought maybe she was the manager of the place she thought so much of everybody I know that there is regular there and they caught her by name and it felt very warm.
I got a oom here for a clinician and she had dogs unbeknownst to me. They kicked her out of the room at 10 at night and charge a dog fee.I am the one paying for it not the clinician and had to pay for another hotel room elsewhere. Which I made very clear to the managers.Yet still the hotel is still charging me for the dog fee.(and the room)which I understandIt seems there should be an exception to that dog rule because it was not me.Beyond that if they were service dogs they would have been allowed. This action, from a Marriott is an extremely low level of customer service. Super disappointed in management shame on you!!
Gentleman at evening desk was very efficient & pleasant. Friendly. Hotel was very nice. Clean, new. Lobby spacious & clean. Great breakfast. Gentleman at desk in morning was so friendly & nice. Very impressed in this day & age when customer service is severely lacking. Keep up the good work! Stayed one night oct 3, due to car troubles.
Our stay was not the best, we had some issues with our room not being cleaned. After the first night, they moved us to a new, clean room. Unfortunately the toilet seat was broken and they did not have a maintenance man on-site to fix it, so we dealt with it. After returning from a long day on Saturday, our room was not cleaned again. Luckily, the staff was very accommodating and helped make sure we were taken care of. Overall, the hotel was nice, clean and an okay place to stay. The breakfast was lacking a little bit, but I believe that was due to Covid. Other than that, the front desk agents were extremely helpful and always willing to work with us.
We loved this hotel! The staff was friendly, the room quite spacious and CLEAN, and the bed was comfortable. They serve a hot breakfast (7am-9:30am) in the morning, and have a large common area near the lobby in case you need a meeting spot. I definitely recommend the Fairfield Marriott-Fenton!
Great location with lots of convenient food options and shopping. Friendly, helpful staff. For outdoor runners like me, extensive sidewalks in good repair allowed for safe running. Rooms are well-equipped and generally very clean. Minor annoyances marred an otherwise great visit: (1) No shampoo; (2) Kleenex Dispenser empty; (3) Burnt out lightbulb in entryway ceiling fixture; (4) Smeary film on TV screen.
I was in Fenton for my brothers funeral, and reserved rooms for myself and both of my sons. My first impression of this hotel was that it was a cold, uninviting lobby and no one working at the front desk to greet us or check us in. Our rooms were adequate, but no amenities like Im used to, such as a pad of paper and pen on the desk, a night light in the bathroom, no microwave, and not even a luggage rack to set my suitcase on. The next morning I went down to get something to eat and the dining area was totally dark and no one to ask about where I could heat up one of the breakfast sandwiches that was offered at a long table along with a few other breakfast foods, so I had to go find a restaurant instead. I asked housekeeping for more towels and was told they are short on towels and I would have to wait for the laundry to get done, but then another worker found some for me. Overall, it was a disappointing stay. I only knew the location of this hotel because Im familiar with Fenton, but for someone who had never been there before it would be hard to find since there is no sign pointing to the drive that goes to the hotel from Silver Parkway or Silver Lake Road.
This place was clean, taken care of, run well, and just a safe place to be. Breakfast was great, the rooms were immaculately clean and comfortable, and the service was amazing! Everyone was sweet and smiling and happy! We will be coming back again for The Renaissance faire next year!
Room was very over priced and not clean. Mildew in shower, drywall pieces on top of archway. Headboard was gross. Husband explained over phone while making reservation that he was handicap and inquired about the shower. They suggested a suit as a stand up shower is available in them. Would have worked fine had that shower not had a 4 inch tall threshold. If the room was $80 we would have called it fair but at $156.00 it was way overpriced for the quality. Staff was friendly but not helpful. Should not boast new level of clean as they certainly are not.
The location near the expressway made it very convenient. The hotel has been under renovation for a very long time (almost 2 years), but our room still looked like they had not gotten to it yet for renewal, e.g., no usb plugs. The staff was friendly (and younger than our previous stays) and everything was very clean. They had a difficult time keeping the coffee urns filled.
The rooms looked like they had hardly been cleaned. Found a grape on the floor in the living room. Pulled the sheets back and there were 2 brown stains as well as a big yellow stain on the comforter. The sheets were white. I don’t understand how someone could make a bed with stains on the bedding like that and think it was ok. Called the front desk to ask for new sheets and she said “I’ll bring them right up” waited 10 minutes and they still hadn’t come up. I get it, the front desk is busy at night and I’m sure they’re short staffed. I just cannot understand how housekeeping was okay with making a bed in the condition ours was in. As for the rest of the room, the walls and floors were pretty beat up and looked like they could use some TLC. Breakfast was your average Covid era breakfast (was glad they still offered something). Overall, I just cannot believe this place is part of the Marriott family.
Let me start by saying it seemed they were renovating and that may be most of the problem. The staff was nice and the beds were clean but the rest of the room and hotel was not what I expected from this chain. We have stayed in many and this was the only one I would not give a 5 star.Nothing was so out that it made us leave but there was a mountain of little items like things/trash left in the room, stains in alot of the carpet, dirty tub grout, elevator out, etc.As I said tho some of this may be attributed to renovation and for a single night stay it worked and the bed was clean.
Oh boy where to begin. Bedding was stained, and there was trash next to the bed. Above the bed there was a sprinkler head that had no escutcheon around it and air was blasting through the opening. The bathroom door handle was falling off and wouldnt lock, the exhaust fan in the bathroom didnt work either. The toilet seat was coming off and slid around the toilet. The toilet also kept running. The shower head arm was loose and broken inside the wall. There was only one body towel when I arrived and no wash rags in the room. I also asked for the room to be vacuumed and it was not. So I asked again then next day and it was still not vacuumed. Switched hotels to the Comfort Inn & Suites across the street.
To start off, hardly ever was anyone visible behind the front desk. From the start, the elevator was dirty. We stayed for 5 nights, we asked for a bathroom refresh on 3 separate occasions, never received service. My husband had to go downstairs to get clean towels for the room. The blow dryer was in pieces hung on the back of the bathroom door. I informed the front desk and they said they would send up a new one when they refreshed...both never happened. The iron was old and dribbled black debris all over my Easter clothes. Lastly, the hotel is worn and needs a renovation, and personnel training and upgrading. This was by far the worst Marriott property I have ever stayed at.
If I could give this hotel a rating of ZERO I most certainly would. Both the staff member that booked my reservation over the phone and when I checked in were new and training. My discount was not put in correctly with either employee. NOT MY PROBLEM! To make a long story short .... .I reserved for 3 nights and had a confirmation of reservation prior to checking in. I got an email from hotel manager on 2nd day stay to call desk. I was basically forced to pack up and leave because they refused to honor my 3rd night stay based on the wrong discount they applied to my stay. Again NOT MY PROBLEM. I refused to pay anymore money because my card already had a hold for 3 night stay. I packed up and checked out and went to Comfort Inn for a much BETTER last night stay in Fenton. Packing up and having to go to another hotel while traveling alone with my 3 year old Grandson was not the most convenient howeveR, Fairfield was NOT getting another dollar from me. This hotel is WAY OVERPRICED for the condition of the rooms. I have stayed at MANY Marriott hotels.....THIS IS NO MARRIOTT! I should have known not to book here when a family member told me the week before my stay they were put in a room with blood stained sheets and hair in the bed 🤮😡I understand times are hard right now and its probably hard finding good employees but MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT LEFT ALONE WHEN BOOKING A RESERVATION OR CHECKING SOMEONE IN IF THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO DO IT‼Thanks to Comfort Inn for a GREAT last night stay before heading back home.
The place has slipped just a little. I guess bcuz of Marriott being slow to lift all covid restrictions. No towels in the work out room, how does that help anything? No TVs in the workout area. No BAGS for soiled clothing in the bedroom- again HOW DOES THAT HELP?! Overall, still good, just disappointed with some of the continued nonsense.
We reserved the room solely for the hot tub and it was full of debris. We cleaned the tub, filled it with water and ran the jets, twice, and both times gross brow debris and hair was everywhere! Toe nail clippings on the bathroom floor and black curly hairs all over the sheets and pillows. We use to come to this hotel every year to celebrate birthdays/valentines day/anniversary since they were all around the same time but our last two visits have been awful! We will not be returning!
Reserved a specific room a month ahead of time on their official website and received confirmation email. When I showed up I was told my room wasnt available and I was lucky they had a room for me. I had my wife and infant daughter with me so I took the room they had but Ill never stay here again.
Upon arrival the check in area was dark...nobody was there. Saw a lot of construction and wondered if it was even open. Finally, after a few hellos out to anybody, staff came out of the office and we proceeded to check in. I guess due to Covid, there was no pool, limited access to the work out room, and what was a nice eat in area completely closed for renovations. Breakfast, what it was, was where guests check in at the hotel desk. Since there was no room service (towels, bed made, trash taken out...etc) it was pretty disappointing during our 4 days. We have stayed many times at this location, and was always at the top of my lists of where to stay. Maybe when things return back to normal, my favorite hotel will as well. Lets hope so!!
Typical, but clean chain hotel under the Marriot Mark. Extended family has often used this location when visiting from out of town. They were super nice, and accommodating last year during the height of the covid quarantine when we had to host and quarantine an extended family member we rescued from a domestic incident, going so far as to find her a and move her to a more secure, top floor location to help ease her fears over security.
Took an overnight trip for my daughter to compete in an early morning competitiin. The lady who made our reservation went out of her way to help ensure we got our connecting rooms reqest. And she was so friendly at check in. She personally made our stay so easy and enjoyable. The hotel was nice - but because of how nice the desk clerk was we really didnt even notice much else. The breakfast lady was really nice and helpful too.Great staff.Management picked some good people!!
Id leave a zero star review if that was an option. The hotel wasnt dirty. Staff was great. But after being charged three times for a two night stay in a standard room, totaling $1640.43 and another $128.00 in over draft charges, Im not amused.Jordan, the highest ranking employee of Marriot in the United States, was courteous at first. But as time goes on, 14 plus days since checkout, and what seems to be a reaccuring payment of $513.99. Jordan has assured me that Expedia is going to refund $279.00 for all my trouble, but he cant give me a date as to when I will receive ANY of my money back. Expedia is Out of my hands, and he hangs up the phone. Im still on hold with Expedia with a 2 and a half hour wait, checkbook is still in the red, and Ive still not had this resolved. My bank was even on a 3-way conversation with me and Jordan and cant believe they charged me a third time on the 22nd of June, after the conversation with all of us. High ranking Jordan blames my bank for the 3rd charge.Obviously, I am not happy and will not stay here again. I wouldnt recommend to anyone. Especially, a simple standard room for 2 nights @ $1600+ $128+ bank account still in the red and no answers as to when it will be resolved.
This is was a very nice and pleasant stay, everything was in order, my favorite room, my amenities and my extras that I requested. The place was clean in my room and in the lobby even though we had a snow storm. The Staff were all friendly and professional and efficient in their work, whether the front desk staff, the Food Service Staff, Housekeeping Staff; They all did a wonderful job!Thank you all and keep up the good work!
The room I booked had pictures included in the booking that were for a more expensive room with less features. The room was not clean, and old coffee grounds were in the coffee maker. The tub had dust and hair in it. The bed was comfy, though I had to combat my hesitation of even climbing into it.
Weve stayed at this particular Fairfield Inn several times in the past and it is a decent budget-friendly hotel. The staff are always extremely nice & helpful and the rooms are comfortable & clean. Breakfast has a good selection of offerings and the breakfast staff are always very cordial. The pool is small, but our Grandchildren enjoyed it. It is definitely not an upscale hotel, but well worth the cost and great for a one or two night stay in a great location, with lots of stores & restaurants close by. The only negative comment I would give is that new fitted sheets for the beds need to be purchased that actually fit the depths of the mattresses better. Other than that, great hotel at a decent price in a convenient location right off the freeway.
Had the pleasure to stay at this wonderful hotel! The front desk staff was very friendly & helpful. I was pleased by how clean my room was. I’m also very impressed to see COVID-19 precautions in place. I will most certainly stay again when I’m in town. Thank you, job well done!
Check in and out were very easy, otherwise the hotel was dirty and the furniture in the room was very beat up. The remote for the tv would not let us channel down or volume down. Also the shower took at least 10 minutes to get luke warm... I would not recommend anyone to stay there.
I love this place, it makes me feel home even when Im away from home. The location is excellent, the Hotel is clean and accommodating, the Staff are friendly and strive to make the guests happy. The Front Desk, the Food Services and the House Keeping are all wonderful people and they are willing to go the extra miles and listen and understand the guests needs.Everything is in order and they are always proactive in their work performance. The check in process is very easy, fast, and efficient. The Room is nice, clean and has all the amenities that I need. The Food Services have many varieties of food options and the staff always alert to what needs to be done and get everything set up on time or even ahead of time.Im very thankful and grateful to the hotel management and staff for all the efforts they put to make this hotel to be my favorite one, even though it is 15 miles away from my work, but it is worth it!Thank you all and keep up the good work!
This particular hotel is very friendly. The conference rooms are of a decent size, with adequate heating and cooling. Concierge is able to adjust the temperature of the rooms. Parking lot is close to the building and well-lit. The bathroom setup leaves much to be desired, however. It is very clean and well stocked, but only ONE SINGLE toilet for each gender, to be shared with guests and employees alike. Unpleasant at best when you have a conference with 12 women.
We stayed in a spa room, which was very well laid out and offered all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful during an obviously difficult situation. We arrived at 7 PM and our room was not ready. Had this been a business trip it would not have been that big of a deal. However, we paid extra for a hot tub and expected a long, relaxing evening since both of us work 2 jobs. The desk clerk immediately gave us a discount for the extra wait and the electrician helped carry our bags up. Apparently, 3 staff had quit on the same day, leaving those left to deal with the fallout. It made us wonder what the mgt was like there. We never saw a mgr. Breakfast was very good for being free, as hot food was available. The server was very helpful with finding a tray to take breakfast to my husband so he could sleep in. The staff were instrumental in making an initially unpleasant experience a very pleasant one. Also, we highly recommend The French Laundry and attached Linchpin microbrewery downtown for an amazing dinner to add to your experience while in Fenton. Please dont leave without stopping by the Crust Bakery for something yummy to take home.
Reserved a room for 3 days because the water is out in my home. Checked in online and was packed up and heading over to grab the keys. 2 hours later (45 ins after I checked in) and I was told they are sold out and I am out of luck. Very poor communication and the kid I spoke to wasnt pleasant at all or understanding.
Tried 3 different times to let water run for a hot shower & it never went beyond lukewarm. Room phone for front desk didn’t work & I had to look up # & call on my own phone to inquire about shower. I was told to try shower again in 10 mins. Moldy shower. Outdated rooms for a Marriott. Kind of like a multi-floor Super 8. TV remote didn’t work to turn it off & on, button worn out.
We arrived at the Fairfield at 3am after a horrendous day of travel delays. It took us 20mins to contact the front desk person to open the front door. I finally saw him folding sheets in the back so I knocked on the window. He was startled and apologetic but it was still frustrating. The rest of the trip was fine other than not having enough accessible outlets in the room for charging our phones.
Lobby under construction. Strong smell of construction adhesive throughout hotel. Room not completely clean, several hairs found in tub, unfinished renovation/construction tasks Im room. Price extremely high for these reasons. Have stayed at many Fairfield Inns and this is the first time Ive been shocked at the room condition/upkeep/maintenance.
Hotel has/is being updated. Looks great. Contemporary. Very clean, and comfortable. Staff is excellent. Front desk staff knows repeat customers by name! TV actually works all the time now. They were upgrading/changing cable providers in the past. Would recommend staying here.
Amazing staff. Would really like to thank the housekeeper who serviced our room this past weekend, Melinda, great job! Also, didnt catch her name, but the woman working the morning breakfast (8-24 and 8-25), what an amazing job she did. Crazy busy yet she kept everything fully stocked. Front desk was also super nice! Thank you for an excellent weekend.
We took our grandkids here for the night. The pool is a little on the small side, but it was perfect for them. Our room was clean. The staff was friendly. . We had the continental breakfast in the morning, which was great. We enjoyed our stay and the price was reasonable.
I blocked a group of rooms for my son’s wedding, and reserved/paid for 10 for immediate family in addition to a conference room for the rehearsal dinner. The rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast was hot and very good, the staff there were extremely friendly and professional. I had a couple hiccups but they were reported and addressed promptly. It made all the difference having the reservations and stay go smoothly so we could focus on the wedding! I would highly recommend this hotel!
Our family stayed here and the service was great! We have a 22-month old with lots of food allergies and the staff was very helpful in helping us determine which foods he could eat and which he couldnt. We stayed in a 1-bedroom suite and the room was large enough for us (3 kids, 2 adults) and the pool, while on the small side, was still large enough for everyone to enjoy (if there were lots of kids there it wouldnt have worked well, but no one else was in it while we were). There is a small beach at Silver Lake a couple minutes from the hotel and a larger one about 10-15 minutes at Seven Lakes State Park - both were great! The Fenton tourism website has good recommendations and we ate at The French Laundry (amazing, fresh, creative, and since they are a made-from-scratch kitchen, they could easily accommodate our sons allergies) and got carry-out from Fenton Fire House (also amazing, best mac & cheese weve ever had, probably not allergy-friendly but I didnt ask since we only got food for my wife and I to have after the kids were in bed). We also took a day trip up to Frankenmuth (which was only about 45 minutes away). Overall, great location, great hotel, and a great trip!
This location has the best staff Ive ever had the pleasure of knowing while traveling. Everyone from the General Manager all the way to the housekeeping staff makes you feel very welcomed, and are very personable, and caring. My work gives me the opportunity to stay at numerous Fairfield properties in Michigan and none of them have even 1/2 the friendliness and hospitality that the entire staff of the Fairfield of Fenton has. I enjoy my stays at this location, and look forward to many more.
The location off a major highway, but in a quiet corner was perfect! It was close to our family members. The breakfast bar was very good. The hotel is undergoing a long renovation, but there was no noise to disturb our stay. Also, we were assigned a room, which was very comfortable and quiet.
I love this hotel. It is my best hotel in Flint/Fenton area in Michigan and I will stay nowhere else except at this hotel when Im in the Flint area.First - The hotel is conveniently located within short driving distance to my work, many grocery stores, many restaurants and many department stores.Second - The Hotel is clean, well maintained and welcoming and has all the amenities that I need during my stay.Third - The staff there are very friendly, and they go above and beyond their work of duty. They are very helpful and with a sincere and a friendly attitude. The staff there are also very professional, skilled and they know what to do.They are very prompt and efficient and have great communication skills.Thank you to all the efforts and hard work, Keep up the excellent work!
I Love this place, The Staff is awesome and very helpful, and they are always proactive and willing to go the extra mile for the comfort of the hotel guests. The hotel and room amenities are very good, satisfying and meet the needs and the expectation. The Food service is great with variety of Breakfast items that fits everyone. The Room Services and House Keeping work very hard to keep the rooms and the hotel clean, organized, and pleasant for all the guests. That is why I chose to stay in this hotel even though it is located 15 miles from my destination, but it is worth it to feel that I am at Home even when I am away from Home.Thank you to everyone working at that Hotel. Keep up the good work!
Had to stay over Christmas, staff is very friendly and accommodating, hotel is clean. Rooms are spacious and quiet. Breakfast hours on weekend only till 9:30 and they mean business as it was cleared up very quickly so get there and get what you want quickly or you will miss it and any seconds. That is probably my only real negative other than at the holidays would have been nice to see it more nicely decorated for those of us who had to be in a hotel with children at Christmas time.. really lacked in the Christmas/Holiday spirit.!! Overall good value for business travelers.
I always love to stay at this hotel. Ms. Martin and her staff are always so courteous. I was so pleased with the Covid19 precautions that the hotel had in place. My room was extremely clean. Breakfast was very good. Thank you to Ms. Martin and her staff for always making me feel home away from home!
Upon arrival the staff was friendly and professional. Lobby very neat and appealing. The odor of chlorine was very very strong. Entering our room we were very disappointed. The room smelled stale and was very dusty. The bathroom shower curtain was dirty and there was not enough toilet paper in the room. Had to go to the front desk to get a roll!!!The breakfast bar was absolutely wonderful, so that helped take the sting out of the disappointment of the rooms.
Stayed in the hotel to get a head start on a wedding the following morning. Mike, at the front desk, was one of the nicest team members Ive ever come across. He was a huge with scheduling and helping us find our way around. The hotel is right off 23 for easy access to nearby cities. Room was clean and basic, but Id expect that at the lower price. Breakfast was good too. Overall, my family would definitely stay again.
False advertising when online booking. I looked at 8 different hotels online before selecting this location based on photos and descriptions. The room I reserved online, showed a jacuzzi tub in the room and a large sofa sleeper. We had 3 teenage girls in tow (celebrating a sweet 16 birthday) and wanted to make sure we had enough space to accommodate sleeping arrangements. After checking in and getting in our room I went back down to ask about the missing hot tub; we were informed they dont have rooms with jacuzzi tubs and online photos are misleading (apparently we were not the first people disappointed in what the actual reality was). Ok. We accepted it for what it was. The sofa sleeper is a love seat hideaway bed. 2 people max, may fit on here. So, my husband and I ended up on the most uncomfortable, rail-in-your-back all night long twin bed sized sofa pull out. Went to get ice and there was an empty hot cocoa packet in the ice container as well as a dead stink bug. Gross. Also, found a beef jerky wrapper in the window. No hot tub in the pool area, but there was a dead stink bug down there too. We will not utilize this hotel again in the future. Im still giving 3 stars ONLY because their staff here is great and they alone deserve 5 stars. Everyone we came across was genuinely nice, helpful and working hard. The place in and of itself, a bit of a let down. I dont like being duped and thats what I feel like happened.
I love this hotel. It is my best hotel in Flint/Fenton area and I will stay nowhere else except at this hotel when Im in the Flint area.First - The hotel is conveniently located within short driving distance to my work, many grocery stores, many restaurants and many department stores.Second - The Hotel is clean, well maintained and welcoming and has all the amenities that I need during my stay.Third - The staff there are very friendly, and they go above and beyond their work of duty. They are very helpful and have a friendly attitude. The staff there are also very professional, skilled and they know what to do.They are very prompt and efficient and have great communication skills. This place is an awesome place, and I usually refer to it as Home away from Home.Thank you to all the efforts and hard work, Keep up the excellent work!
I’m happy to see cosmetic upgrades. The pool needed some attention around the wall of pool was a little dirty and it was very cold. I hope to see a hot tub added somehow. Those factors would have made a huge difference in my ratings. Overall Marriott treats me well and with my card I do enjoy benefits.
Thank you for providing a comfortable sleep in a nice clean room! We had a really busy day at a conference and we needed sleep. It was so cold out and we were so happy the heat was on in our room when we got there. Even though we had to check in late (our conference ran late) and it was busy, the staff was friendly, helpful, and happy. The morning came fast and it was time to go back for day two of the conference. But we were so thankful for the delicious breakfast on our way out!! Thank you!!
Ive stayed at this property for business for many years. My opinion is that this property (although being remodeled) has gone down hill with regards to the amenities inside the rooms. I stayed in one of the newly remodeled rooms during this most recent stay. Not very impressed. The atmosphere in the room can only be described as sterile. No pictures on the walls, inadequate lighting, just a bare room. There is no longer a folding luggage stand in the room to place your roller bag on. I will not leave my roller bag on the floor of any hotel. The only option to keep it off of the floor is to place it on the chair, or next to the TV on the cabinet. Not ideal spots. There was also no work light on the work table. Again, unacceptable. Once the sun goes down, there is inadequate lighting at the work table to continue working. Additionally, the local TV channels continuously kept going out on the TV due to poor satellite reception. If I didnt know better, Id say that the hotel owner is trying to get reception without fully paying for it. Just my opinion. All in all, Im much less impressed with this hotel than I was years ago when it was new, or possibly under different ownership. On my next business trips to the area, Ill be looking for alternate lodging.
As always, this Hotel is #1 on my list for this area. The Hotel location is excellent, the Hotel property, staff and amenities are outstanding. The Front Desk Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, Jaimie, Nicole, Katie and Jareen are very prompt, proactive and willing to go the extra mile and meet the needs of the guests. The wonderful and the very pleasant ladies Mary and Sharon are always working hard to keep the Food Service area well maintained, The Breakfast is always ready in the very early morning and with many varieties that can fit everyone. All kind of coffee, tea, hot chocolate. etc. are always full and ready to be served. The Breakfast and the Dining areas are always clean and inviting.Miss Kim and her team with House Keeping are amazing, they know exactly what to do and they keep all those rooms ready and clean and they know exactly what the frequent hotel guests like for extra amenities in the room and make sure it is available for them, they work behind the seen to make sure that all the guest are comfortable during their stay.I’m sure the Hotel management and the other staff in many other areas are working hard as well to make this hotel to be a desirable hotel and number one for me.It is my Home away from Home.Keep up the good work and Thank You for taking care of me during my stays at the Hotel.
Most of the stay was a pretty standard fare that would be found at any chain hotel. It had a few bonuses that pushed my rating towards an average rating 3.5 out of 5 (For the record, I am a hard grader and anything I consider standard gets a 3). The weightroom actually had headspace which is a big deal for a tall guy like me. The bed and linens were comfortable to a degree above what I normally expect when I travel. Finally, being a AAA member helped increase the value of the stay just enough to rate that category a 4 out of 5.
My stay at this hotel was excellent. The hotel is located in a convenience location and it is close to many awesome restaurants and other stores. The hotel is very inviting and is very well maintained. The staff is very friendly and willing to go the extra mile to serve their guests. They have great amenities; The Breakfast is very decent and has many variety of items for everyone. The rooms are clean and has all what I need.It is a place that I call Home away from Home!I appreciate all the hard work of the management and the staff of this hotel, keep up the good work!
06/07/2018 Day 1: We were issued one door key - even though I made reservations for two. Not a big deal, but I had to come back to get a second one.06/08/2018 Day 2: After returning from a full day out, my wife noticed that our bathroom and coffee station were not completely cleaned. Towels were picked up, but the sink area was not cleaned. Also, the provided lotion bottle was used and not by either me or my wife. The housekeeper left a handwritten note thanking us for our tip.06/09/2018 Day 3: My wife left a note for the housekeeper about the bathroom, coffee station, and the used shampoo bottle. I left another tip. After returning from a full day out, we notice the room had been partially cleaned but the bed was not made-up. Once again, the housekeeper left a handwritten note thanking us for our tip. I brought this to the attention of the desk clerk and asked to speak to the manager.06/10/2018 Day 4: Spoke to the manager first thing in the morning. After returning from a full day out, we notice the room had been adequately cleaned. 06/11/2018 Day 5: I went down for morning breakfast. There were no plates. I stuck my head into the pantry and asked the lady there for plates. The look that I received was not a pleasant one. She stopped what she was doing and placed plates out. I thanked her for her help – she did not acknowledged that at all. At no time did she, utter a word to me. I found this very troubling. After a full day out, we returned and noticed that our room had not been cleaned at all. The trash cans were not emptied; the bathroom was not cleaned; the bed as not made, etc. My wife spoke to the front desk – we were told nothing could be done. 06/12/2018 Day 6: We checked out.
We really enjoyed our stay and the staff was very nice. When we asked for an extra blanket they did not hesitate to go get it and bring it to us in the conference room. We were there for a Christmas party and they came in with coffee and water and came and dump the garbage for us. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Beds were very comfortable and clean.
Loved the size of the King bedroom. Realized later it was an ADA room. It was bigger than my parents which they loved. Their King room was cramped. 2 feet between the bed and wall. Hard to move around in. My room had a moldy mildewy damp smell. Had to keep the air conditioning at 62 to get rid of it. The shower curtain was so high up you flooded out the bathroom. The tub backed up so you were showering in 6 inches of water. There we children who dropped chocolate cookie chunks in the elevator on Saturday. On Tuesday when we left they were still there. It made my Moms.skin crawl that it wasnt cleaned up. She wanted to clean the elevator!!
Fantastic place to stay, close to everything, many restaurants nearby. Staff always wore a smile and were very helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is much more than just the continental typical items, this place had a lot of choices for breakfast: eggs(Omlette, scrambled and boiled), yogurts, cheese, breads, hot waffles, oatmeal, lots of hot and cold beverage options, even a gluten free option.
I recently had the pleasure of meeting Rhonda at the front desk during my stay in Fenton, Michigan. Not only was Rhonda welcoming, but she made me feel truly special! She represents all the qualities one should have in her position - she is genuine, attentive, professional, pleasant and a simply lovely human being. What a difference it makes to be greeted and assisted by someone who is so present, and clearly takes pride in providing an excellent customer experience. In this hustle bustle world, I think its highly important to stop and recognize folks like Rhonda. Congratulations on finding and retaining such a wonderful woman as your employee. Thanks for making my stay so enjoyable :)
The Marriot staff was very friendly and knowledgeable from the very beginning. They were courteous and polite, and friendly. The hotel was clean, neat and very easy to access everything we needed. Thank you for making the hotel unstressful it made the trip that much better. We would definitely try to stay at this location again.
When will you reimburse me for charging me for staying there whrn you didnt have any rooms available when I tried to check-in even though I made a reservation 2 weeks. I need my money. Said I would receive a call from your supposed GM 2 weeks later nothing. Stop stealing from customers. Thieves . Never dealing with Marriott again. And ive left several at your sister hotel for some reason everytime I call Fairfield inn by Marriott Fenton number they answer. Email address is fraud. I need my money with interest. Your going 2 see me on all social media. Been trying to be nice. Please give me my money youll stole
Hotel was fine overall, more or less what I expected and no major complaints. Im not picky and it served the purpose of what I needed at a fair price. Staff was okay...the woman I check-in with was pleasant but the woman I checked-out with was oddly rude when I asked a pretty normal question. She kind of made me feel dumb for asking...didnt feel great about that and its kind of stuck with me.
I attended a seminar in the area & booked a room at this hotel. I was very happy with how clean the rooms were. The staff here is very professional & want you to feel at home. They go out of their way to help. The beds were comfortable & the breakfast hot & tasty. There was waffles, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, muffins, bagels, milk, juices, cereal, yogurt & fresh fruit. Very clean - food was good !
Fairfield Inn & Suites Fenton is quite a gem of a hotel! The staff is truly what made our stay great. Kayla at the front desk is a true leader in the hospitality world. She created our reservation, checked us in, and helped with all of our questions in the kindest manner. Everything from beginning to end was made easy and pleasant during our stay because of her! Grace in housekeeping is also an amazing staff member, she went above and beyond from keeping our room tidy to just being friendly! I give her an A+++! There was one other staff member that stood out but I did not catch her name, she has long dark hair and worked in the kitchen. Every time I saw this girl she was working as hard as she could and most of the time by herself! Sunday morning there were a whole bunch of people that came to the continental breakfast and I believe it was unexpected because she was working alone, but she kept a smile on her face and kept bringing out the food! I worked in hotel management for 4 years and I tell you what, if I wouldve found personalities like the ones these girls had a lot more than what I did, my life wouldve been a lot easier! I do not know if any one of these girls are managers but I did not see any manager on duty during my stay.
No microwave or room frig. Lighting is insufficient. Clean enough. Checking out was a long process. Breakfast buffet and Mary were wonderful but it didnt open until 7:00 on weekends. Small pool. TV channels always went directly to FOX news when you turned it on. Beds and pillows were comfy.
I chose this hotel because when I called the pool was up and working! I drove two hours to find out “oh it’s been closed for weeks” then we get to the bedroom I’m so tired however the pillows were clumpy and uncomfortable so I decided I’d go downstairs and ask for another pillow which I was told “due to covid “ they couldn’t. Now, the blonde woman who works their I believe she was a manager could have cared less who had or didn’t have a mask on ! As she didn’t have a mask on either talking with either another worker or a friend both front lobby no mask! For hours !!!! Don’t go to the Fenton location!!! Was the worst !
The hotel was fun and fresh. The breakfast changed daily with tons of options. One morning they even had vegetable sausages as an option along was bacon, so you could choose which breakfast meat you wanted. The vegi sausages were delicious. I was pleasantly surprised with the healthy breakfast item choices. One of the best hotel breakfasts Ive ever had at a hotel. Thanks for a great stay!
While not in the luxury category of hotels, I was warmly welcomed by all staff members from front desk to breakfast attendant to cleaning staff. They were so personable and attentive and polite. This speaks to their respect for their guests but also to the work environment. Thank you for a pleasant stay!
This hotel did not have a restaurant, but it did have snacks and beverages, a great hot breakfast and there are restaurants in the area. We found everything to be clean and up to date, even though we heard that they were going to do updating within the next year. All staff was friendly and helpful and addressed our needs on the spot. This hotel was quiet, which is harder to find these days, had comfy beds and was also reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will likely stay here again!
We reserved a block of room and the meeting room for two nights for our sons wedding in Holly. The entire experience was great and worry-free. The manager was easy going and very helpful, as was the whole staff. The hotel is very nice, clean and comfortable. Even those people who made last minute reservations were taken care of and given the group rate. The staff was helpful to our guests, the caterers, the shuttle bus driver and especially the wedding party. I highly recommend the Fairfield Inn & Suites Flint Fenton for individual, family or group stays.
This review is for a 5-day stay in a king suite (separate bedroom). No housekeeping at all one day; 5pm housekeeping one day; issues with not getting clean towels or not getting enough of them. However, staff was very nice and complimentary breakfast was decent. Rooms are a little out of date, and contrary to what the website says, there is no blow dryer in the room. Also there is no light in the hallway where the small coffee maker is located. There is a small refrigerator and a microwave, which is helpful. There are TVs in both the bedroom and living area. The sofa bed is not very comfortable, but the king bed was quite nice.It is a good location, and there is a lot nearby.
We made last minute reservations due to a funeral. We had a very late check-in, but the staff was still courteous in those wee morning hours. Room was clean and comfortable. There were sports teams staying in the hotel, which made the complimentary breakfast a little less desirable than what I am sure is normally much more.
We have stayed at this particular Fairfield Inn & Suites several times in the past and it is always an enjoyable stay. The rooms are clean, beds are comfy & the staff are always extremely nice & helpful. The only down-side we find with this hotel is there are no in-room refrigerators. When traveling with small children, in-room refrigerators are extremely helpful. Other than that, this is a very nice, affordable hotel & we would definitely recommend it!
Worst hotel experience I have had yet. Was a guest at my cousins wedding and was instructed to get there early due to overbooking by the hotel and my cousin. Upon my arrival NO rooms were ready at 2 oclock. I understood due to staff calling in sick. It wasnt til 3 oclock ( check in time) when I was told my room STILL was not ready. At this point the lobby was full of my family and guests that could not check in and got ready in the bathroom just to make sure to be able to make the shuttle. This hotel should have compensated every single person that went through this when they were the ones who made promises and fell through on that. One cousin even called at 9am to make sure there room would be available at 11:45 due to coming from Traverse City upon and was told that would not be an issue. Upon arrival that was yet again another lie. There room was not made available to them til 2 oclock.
I did not have a good experience at this hotel. The previous guests towel was left hanging in the bathroom, there were fingernail clippings on the floor by the nightstand, the AC unit was not working, the room was HOT, the room was up against a Home Depot where the garbage dumpsters were emptied at 6am on Saturday morning, and a patio was below my room with very loud guests gathering until 2am. It definitely was not a stress-free/relaxing stay. I will not stay here again.
The room was alright, the bed was clean but the bathroom was dirty. The tub jets were grimy and the shower floor felt dirty. The tv was broken and no remote was around. The girl we checked in with was pleasant and friendly but the assistant GM was rude and dismissive.
The hotel is a nice hotel & pretty standard for a Fairfield Inn. The beds & pillows were comfy and breakfast was good with a nice variety of selections. The coffee, that is available all day, is EXCELLENT! The only issue we had was the room we were given had somewhat of a sour & musty/moldy smell to it. We reported it and, hopefully, it was simply a shower curtain or something in the bathroom that needed changing. Other than that, the staff was very nice and we had a comfortable stay.
Just got back from three days at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in Fenton, Michigan. We were excited to have the spa suite! Checked in, and started looking around. There was hair (not ours) all over the bathroom floor. More hair in the spa tub - so bad that we never touched it. The first day we were there, we returned to our room to find a note from housekeeper Natasha - Due to personal items on the bed, I was unable to make it. You have fresh towels and soap. However, Natasha failed to wipe out the bathroom sink / counter, nor did she take our dirty towels. For the price paid, I expect better service. I would look elsewhere next time. Very disappointed in Marriott.
From start (check-in) to finish (check-out) my stay at the Fenton Fairfield Inn was an exhilarating relaxing experience. The staff was accommodating, especially Michelle in housekeeping who serviced our room initially, but was reassigned to another area as we were leaving. Front desk, morning buffet breakfast staff all were GREAT!!!
The staff screwed up by failing to clean the room and change towels before the last night of our stay. Had the night clerk leaped into action and profusely apologized the damage might have been minimized. We did get towels after he sold another guest snacks. The minor annoyances included breakfast only running until 9:30 a.m., a toilet seat that wouldnt stay up, sound on the television that lagged the picture, one chair in a room for two people, a rip in the carpet, evidence of a leak in the ceiling. The fitness center had one bike and one treadmill along with a number of dumbbells. The pool is not for fitness; its only big enough for entertaining children. Other than that, it was adequate.
This was hotel was very nice, up to date in their decorations, and the rooms were very well kept. I always stay at Marriott Hotels because I know I will receive good service and have a nice place to stay. Beds are always comfy, rooms are clean and tastefully decorated, and the continental breakfast never disappoints.
Worst hotel experience I have had yet. Was a guest at my cousins wedding and was instructed to get there early due to overbooking by the hotel and my cousin. My fiance, 2 year old daughter & I were just venturing out for the weekend & came across this hotel. The woman that worked front desk was FABULOUS! Terrible with names but I remember she was from Saginaw.. we would most definitely be open to going back because of her hospitality. The only issues were that the jacuzzi in our room wasnt properly cleaned. It was oily & debris was floating in it before we even entered it. Also the remote in the living space WA not working..Otherwise it was wonderful.
The pool was tons of fun for our kids but unfortunate,y the maid service was inadequate and breakfast was not good. We bit into a rotten egg and the waffle maker was broken. The room was not vacuumed in the four days we were there and the bathroom not cleaned. We had to ask for towels. The pillows were terribly uncomfortable and a bug was in the bed. I see why this hotel is cheaper than comfort inn... Not worth the savings.
Was nicer when it first opened but nothing special anymore. most everything is fair. Staff is nice enough. Breakfast food is low quality. Gym is almost nonexistent. a few dumbbells and some cardio equipment stuffed into a tiny room. Pool looked dirty. The suite is not much of a suite as youd expect.
I have been staying at the Fenton location since 2012. Its a wonderful hotel with a great staff. The staff is absolutely amazing and will go over and beyond to assist you. The location is great, right off 23. Lots of restaurants close by. My children always enjoyed the pool and our request to stay on the main floor is always granted to us! Thanks for making it a memorable stay always!
While some items were dusty and in need of a good cleaning, the most important items in the room were spotless: the bed and bathroom. Certainly would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. The lobby was inviting and updated. There were a lot of breakfast options - something to please everyone.
This was one of the worst Marriott properties I ever stayed at. I was here for 2 weeks for work and the only good thing about the hotel was the front desk staff. I have never once complained or wrote a negative review about a hotel but this place deserves it. I got bed bugs in my room. I saw the bugs, have pictures of the bugs, and have bite marks all over my arms. The hotels response was to make ask to make sure I didnt have bed bugs before I got to the hotel. The TV reception is awful, as all the channels are fuzzy. After I let the front desk know my room had bed bugs they moved me to a different room. In the new room the AC did not work. When I told the front desk they said they were calling the engineers but that 5 people on the floor had the same complaint. I looked in the AC unit and there was about 5 years worth of dust. Stay away
Of all the years I have been staying at this hotel, this time was by far the best experience. The entire staff was professional, kind and more than accommodating. Best staff I have seen in years. I flew in with my family for a funeral. The trip was hard enough as it was, but everyone made it feel so much easier for us. I can’t thank all of the ladies and gentlemen enough. And a huge thank you to Ebony, our housekeeper. She was absolutely wonderful to us. We had a 84 yer old and a 19 month old in tow. She was so accommodating and wonderful to my family. Absolutely beautiful person inside and out. Thank you Ebony for being the kind, the compassionate and the dedicated person you are! The manager (I forget her name!) is wonderful too! So upbeat and kind. And the concierge lady! (Never got her name either). She greeted us everyday and was so beautifully wonderful to my daughter. I could go on and on. Thank you everyone for everything!
We love this hotel at this location. The room which is a queen suite is very nicely laid out. Our granddaughters like the option of watching tv in the bedroom, while my husband watches in the living room. The pool, while small, gives me the ability of keeping an eye on them all the time. The breakfast selections are a variety, waffles, eggs, bacon or sausage, cereal, or yogurt, along with bagels, muffins, doughnuts and other assorted breakfast items such as fresh fruit. Juice, milk, coffee or tea also.
This hotel smells really bad. We had to switch rooms becuase the first one smelled so strongly of mildew. The breakfast is like any other hotel: not great and they were out of orange juice all morning. We did request a mini fridge and they gave us one. The staff was very friendly and helpful so that is a plus.
Anyone utilizing a wheelchair must request room 110. Staff is excellent........hotel is clean..........complimentary breakfast is great...........wonderful location............this stay we experienced a problem with two childrens parties and noise. We will continue to return as our experience with other local hotels has not been good. Room 110 has a roll-in shower with plenty of space within the bathroom. I do miss a small fridge for medication needs........and a microwave would also be a great addition to the Fairfield Inn and Suites of Fenton, Michigan. Other than noise.........we are very satisfied and as I mentioned..........we will return.
From check-in time being delayed 2.25 hours, room not being stocked with towels, toilet paper, coffee & coffee cups, or extra pillows. Whirlpool not working. Internet service only working in half the room. Front desk staff not following through with room issues. Only nice things was the bed was comfortable and the breakfast selection was large. Will NOT being using this hotel again. I will pay more for a hotel less than 1/4 mile away.
The hotel was located in a great area with places to eat surrounding including Buffalo Wild Wings. The hotel was very clean and most importantly the beds were clean and comfortable. The hotel offered a free breakfast in the morning including waffles, bagel, scrambled eggs, and Canadian bacon. It was a great experience overall.
Unbelievable, we have now stayed for two weeks and it has been nothing but issues. Today they came into my room (despite that I have a do not distribute sign on the door) without knocking to measure my window. No warning, I was on the phone with a client. For someone conducting business do not stay in this hotel. You will not be able to concentrate with these interruptions. I have stayed in Marriott hotels all over the country but this is a first.
If youre in the area of Flint Michigan, this is one of the nicest possible hotel locations you could select for your stay. The property is up to date and well maintained, and the staff is fantastic! Everyone was quick to respond to our needs during the entire duration of our stay in Fenton.Because I remembered to confirm my rate upon checkin, the desk associates were glad to confirm that I had the best possible rate for my situation and circumstance. As always, I would recommend working with this hotel directly to get the best room rate: third party websites and other venues do not have the necessary details to help accommodate you.
I can truly say that this hotel is my home away from home. The staff is terrific, the rooms are clean and there is just a calmness that relieves any stress you may have. The staff here is like no other. They are kind and want to ensure that you have a wonderful stay. You cannot go wrong staying here!
Called the property early and assisted by Terri who was a complete delight over the phone. She answered all my questions and took care of our request for early check-in. Upon arrival, Terri greeted us with a smile and soft-spoken enthusiasm. Knocked out the check-in process efficiently and clearly explained the breakfast hours, on-site amenities and directions to our room. All business and still reflected her bubbly personality which was contagious to say the least. Youre lucky to have her on the staff and hopefully shes working the next time were boating in the Fenton area.GREAT JOB TERRI!
I reported a broken toilet at 8am expected it to be fixed while I was out and about at 8:30 came back around 1 - 2pm to find out it was not fixed. I had to put a fight to get it fixed and or give me another room. Rhonda at the front desk was not even trying to get it fixed and or help, had an attitude and did not even apologize. This is outrageous!! I will never recommend this place! Id rather stay at other properties where they value me as customer!
I will be returning to this property on a regular basis. It is centrally located in a portion of my sales territory. The only thing that was shy of perfection was the internet speed during peak hours. Early morning and early evening it was good.Sarah 1 was perfect in her hospitality, friendliness and curb appeal.I did not get to meet the management team as I was out the door by 7:00 am all three mornings and not back until after 8:00PM.
As a gold rewards member, I was upgraded from a king room to a suite with Jacuzzi which was much appreciated. However there was a sewer odor in the bathroom and the TVs are of pretty poor viewing quality. These issues werent major, and I will return to the property. Probably because there arent many Marriott choices in the area.
0 stars! They are the worst!! I was up from Florida with an emergency and had my small dog. He is emotionally supported for travel and residency. When I checked in around midnight the front desk clerk took my medical letter from my doctor about my dog and checked me in for approx. $80 night stay. Woke up early to leave and took my dog out to relieve him. He never messed in the room and we were barely there 7 hours. The manager followed me and told me dogs were not allowed and I had to leave. Not a problem. I packed my stuff up and I took my room key back to the front desk and we left. After a month i received my bank statement that they charges me over $200 pet fee. WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE. I tried calling in regards to this and no on will return my call. ABSOLUTE THIEVES! HORRIBLE
Check in was supposed to be at 3:00PM. We arrived at 3:45PM and no rooms were available. The front desk asked that we come back in an hour and our room should be ready. We had a wedding to go to (thank goodness we didnt plan in getting ready in said hotel room) so we left for that. We then arrived back at the hotel at 11:30PM to check in, again no room was available. This was infuriating. After a long day of travel, wedding ceremony, and reception, our party was ready for bed and we did not have one. Reception then went and checked to see if a different room was available. After more waiting a room was given to us. However, this was the handicapped room, which leads me to believe the hotel was overbooked and our room was given away. I hate to think what would have happened if someone came into the hotel and needed to use the room that they gave us. I have never stayed with a Fairfield before, but probably wont again.
The front desk clerk was incredibly rude and obviously annoyed that us arriving interrupted her personal phone call. After trying to call about a roll away bed and the phone not being answered (because she was once again on a personal call) I went to the desk and she was so rude. She later called to tell us no rollaway beds were available and when I asked her what could be done about my family trying to fit in 2 queen beds she basically said not her problem and hung up on me. After calling corporate to complain about her attitude, she miraculously found a rollaway bed. The room was also very dirty. The A/C unit had obviously not been wiped or touched in ages & it was covered in dust/dirt/grime/hair. So disgusting!!!
I was the maid of honor in a wedding that tried to have all of their guests book at this hotel. Seeing as we brought so much business to them, youd think they wouldve taken care of us well. That was not the case. To help the bride, I took point on answering phone calls so she could focus on more important things. A couple of days before the wedding, the hotel called and told us they over booked, and to have our guests come in to check in as early as possible, so they could get a room there instead of the other hotel that we were forced to get rooms at because of Fairfields error. I was on the phone for most of the wedding day talking with our guests about how Fairfield not only wouldnt let them check in early as we were instructed, but that they told them to get ready for the wedding in a PUBLIC RESTROOM. When finally getting them a room AFTER their 3pm check in time, as well as hours after they arrived for the early check in the were told by the hotel to do, their keys didnt work. Since the wedding started at 4, this hotel made a lot of our guests late.I myself also had an issue. I had called earlier in the day and confirmed my reservation for a double queen room. The person working the desk, I think Carl, assured me my room was set and that I could check in after the wedding with no issue. When I arrived, the hotel had given my room to someone else, and they had no more double queen rooms. Luckily they had a king room with a pull out couch, which I greatly appreciated being able to have, but Im sure theyve charged me extra for the upgrade which was only needed because of their error and inability to read IDs at check ins. Should there not be an extra charge, I would still keep the rating at a 1, because of the many, many issues me and all the other guests had to deal with.
Good location walking distance to great places to common places to eat. The worst of the stay was housekeeping. My room was cleaned half way everyday. Shower and sink counter was skipped two out of the four days stay which made me wonder what was actually being cleaned.
Enjoyed our recent stay at the Fenton Fairfield Inn & Suites. Very clean, comfortable beds, quiet rooms and good breakfast. One of the best hotels in the area that lives up to the Marriott standard of quality we expected. Will definitely stay here again when in the area.
I received free points from a prior bad stay at a different location. Fairfield Inn of Fenton was great, and truly showed that not all hotels are created equal. The staff was super friendly, the room was clean, and the atmosphere was inviting. There is no hot tub, but the pool was great for the kids.
This place is trash, people that work here suck at there jobs minus one or two of them. I got 2 charges cant use my credit card because they find tabaco products in my room and charged me 500 dollars when i didnt smoke in my room or anything. So if someone leave a pack of smoke in a room they assume you smoked in your room and now you got to deal with a pain of finding a manager because they wont call you back. The bride and groom got there rooms switched on there wedding day. Would not recommend this place to anyone. You think you good until you check out and they hit you with a millions fees.. anyone a lawyer and want to help me sue let me know! How can a place charge you for something you never did? Look how do i get 2 charges for the same thing look how they do business!! Never felt so mistreated!!
While the staff is accommodating other problems often occur. My sisters room lacked air the first night and it was in the 80s. It was fixed the next day. We alll endured the chemical/construction and/or installation materials they used and they began work at 8 am which made sleeping in difficult. Other times the tvs were all out. Always a glitch here to prevent a good experience. This was especially disconcerting given we were there grieving the loss of our youngest sister.
Ok so first of all the rooms had nady sticky stuff on the walls and werent clean. we were told over the phone 7 people would be okay and then the desk lady refused to give us our blankets and called her manager to kick us out. i truly hate this place and the staff sucks
The staff was extremely nice and the room was very clean and nice as well. It is a short ride to the flint airport and centrally located to other areas as well. Jamie the GM answered every question I had. If I am up in the area again I will definitly stay there again.
The service was great, but cleanliness is more important to me when I travel. The room smelled like feet/BO, bathroom was disgusting (mildew/mold, grungy shower curtain, dust covering everything, stained fold out mattress, blood stained curtains, and dirty walls/carpet)
Worst Stay Ever. I was charged for 3 nights and fought for about an hour with front desk when our stay was only 2 nights. When we made reservations DIRECTLY THROUGH THEIR OWN WEBSITE we reserved a rollaway bed and requested check in at 1pm. We couldnt check in until 4pm. The cot was not ready upon check in. I had requested it be sent to our room as soon as possible as we were dropping off luggage and heading out to visit family. When we returned around 10pm the rollaway still was not in the room. I had to ask twice before we received it after midnight while 1 of my 2 little children was waiting for it. The pool area did not have any towels stocked at any time we were there swimming. A do not disturb sign was placed on the door at the start of our second day and still housekeeping came in. I think next time we are in town again to visit family we will try our look at the Comfort Inn.
Just received another charge thats worth a 3rd night and only stayed 2 nights, checked out before 12 which is their deadline unless theyre lying to customers. Now I have to dispute the extra charge on my account which didnt show up til a week later. Dont go here, they play games with your money!!!
Nightmare... I booked and asked for a jacuzzi tub room was told that there were 3 available on that day. So I got there at 3pm and am told that the room isnt ready yet.. and then am told that the room has 2 queen beds.. room was booked for 1 person.. then was told that there were no jacuzzi rooms available now. So she said that she had a king bed room on the 3rd floor. I said ok cause I needed to get ready for a wedding ceremony. Then was told that the elevator was not working.. sweet. Then offered me extra points for my next stay...lol never again
My wife and I stayed here March 9th to March 10th of 2019. Saturday night to Sunday morning. As strange as it sounds at about 10PM someone in the room above us began running back and forth. The sound of stomping on the floor and the wall shaking led us to call the front desk immediately. The front desk said they would call the room above us. After another 15 minutes of running we called a second time. Still no avail and the gymnastics team above us was still practicing their tumble routine. As if that wasnt enough the paper thin wall that separated us from the room next to us didnt stop the conversation over there from entering our room until midnight which didnt allow any sleep. At about 3:45 AM I wake up to someone banging on our door. In the confusion of being woken abruptly I open the door thinking there could be an emergency of some kind and it would be hotel staff. I opened the door to find two young women who were in fact not hotel staff but just people who had the wrong room. To think my suffering was over yet was a mistake as both my wife and I woke up at 5:30 AM on Sunday to very loud moaning on the other side of the wall by our heads where the beds are located. Again the walls holding back nothing for sound. To top off the whole disaster of a night the running above us began again at about 6 AM. Just in case we slept through the screaming in the room next to us. Absolutely awful. Please stay somewhere else so you do not share our misery. Free hotel stays for life as reparation would be declined becuase I dont want to die in my early 30s from sleep deprivation and insanity and misery. If anyone who works for Fairfield would like to challenge this review as fake I will send you the receipt for my stay.
Over all the stay was nice, but the thick paint smell in the room made it hard to breath. Also, on the second day we went to breakfast at 9:31. We were told breakfast went till 10:00, yet there was no meat or eggs available. When we got our room, we were told that breakfast went till 10:00; yet when the food was out, we were told they stop putting food out at 9:30. If your not going to put new food out after 9:30, then state breakfast only goes to 9:30.
Very disappointed in my initial night at this Fairfield inn in Fenton. I was able to get an upgrade to a suite but the WiFi is awful. Won’t be back. Sorry for the negative post but this is one-way businesses improve. This is NOT Marriott. They also held $160 for incidentals for 6 nights. It is supposed to be $20 a night. SMH.
Great hotel, great location, friendly staff, large updated rooms. Very comfortable hotel overall. Huge breakfast area and always fresh coffee and tea in the lobby. After always looking to find the best deal in the area, I have never looked or stayed elsewhere after staying here.
The staff is very friendly and always makes sure I am very welcomed. I am a project superintendent and have been working in Fenton for 9 months. Fenton has 2 motels and both are what I think very pricey for what the area has to offer. The Fairfield by far is the better motel but the cost per night should be about 40.00 lower than what they quote. I have a negotiated price per night and I am very pleased. Not much of a night life in the area if thats what you are looking for and the restaurants/bars are satisfactory.

2022-01-01Great time! We came here as locals to enjoy the pool during winter break and for my sons birthday- he just wanted to go swimming with some friends. The staff was great, we had pizza in the lobby kitchen after swimming in their small but clean pool. The rooms were very clean and everyone that worked there that I spoke with was fantastic!

2022-05-10All of the following actually happened. I promise I am not embellishing.#1- the hotel stinks. I mean, the stench traveled home with me on my clothes. It is awful.#2- my husband used a half-used bottle of lotion on the counter top. He thought I used it. No. It was left there from before us.#3- hair strands everywhere in the room.#4- I tried to sweeten my coffee with chocolate milk at breakfast. The chocolate milk container that I took directly from the fridge was spoiled.#5- the toilet was dirty when we arrived.#6- the drawers near the bed had a loose clump of...dirt?I hope.We stayed because we felt we would be taking a similar risk anywhere we went. We thought that, based on the brand, it was a good place. No. If we paid $80 a night, I would say we got what we paid for. We paid upwards of $200/night. It was disgusting. I bought cleaner to clean the place myself, but I could do nothing about the smell. Go at your own risk.

2022-04-20Really comfortable beds, and solid cable channels on tv. It’s not fancy, but it is comfortable. The best part of our stay has been Linda. She is the lovely lady who is in charge of breakfast at this Fairfield. The breakfast area was spotless, and the breakfast selections well displayed. The spinach egg rounds are particularly good & a waffle maker I intend to try. Linda was friendly & personable with a cranky confused travelers, such as myself, which was a wonderful start to the day. Thanks Linda!

2022-07-02Horrible customer service. I canceled my reservation and they claim I never did! The dates they claim I booked are not mine. I have dates of cancellations , and still no help! Just very disappointed in the service. I stayed at this hotel just about every year and I will never give them my business again. Rude! Rude! Rude! Enjoy my no show fee…. Because that’s the last dime you will see from me or anyone else I know that stays there! The fact that you could be so nasty , when I reciprocated nothing but respect, is sad!

2022-06-08CONS: The hotel entrance and hallways smelled like mold. Water stains in bathroom, a reddish pink stain on the wall. Toilet kept running randomly. Pool is tiny. Could hear noise from outside. No decaf coffee.PROs: Comfortable bed, breakfast was nice, people were nice, water pressure was great.Overall, it wasnt terrible. I would stay there again, and hope the mold smell disapates.

2022-04-05We stayed two nights. Was charged an extra $100 because they said that we stained the linens and the towels. Which I know for a fact we did not. Never spilled a thing. Kids only ate crackers in the room and we went out for every meal. So I have no idea where the stains came from ?? I also asked what color the stains were or what they looked like and they couldnt provide that information. Also, they were very rude when I called to ask about the extra charge. Dont waste your time / money here. The pool is extremely dirty and small.

2022-03-27Room seemed cleanish. Although I dont think the grouts supposed to be black. Phone in room didnt work unless you messed with the cord. Just a very basic, sparse room. Got to enjoy the neighbors tv all night.Workout room seemed small but decent. (Just looked in.) Pool was very small and the water was cloudy. Clerks were...rudish.One star for the bug bite I got on my eye lid while I slept. Its been almost 3 weeks and Im still dealing with the allergic reaction. Makes my skin crawl. Be careful!

2022-07-02The wife and I made a reservation to be there from June 30th to July 8th I made these Reservations in May. My wife got diagnosed with Breast cancer so we called and canceled. Today is July 2bd and I get a charge of $143 for not showing up to a reservation I canceled. They had no records of me canceling and the reservation they had was wrong they saying July 1st - 4th. Which was wrong and stupid. When I called to Talk about this a guy named Dekota was rude and nasty. The manager Ashley was the same . This place is shady and horrible

2022-03-01Staff was great, and some parts of the hotel seem recently renovated, but the room itself (one king bed) seemed a bit well used. Clean, and cared for, but well used

2022-06-26Ive traveled the world, and this is the worst hotel Ive ever stayed at. The management has a contemptuous attitude toward the guests. As long as you understand that theyre doing you a favor letting you stay here, youll be okay.
