Love getting my nails done here! They always come out beautifully and the staff is super friendly.

MIMI was very rude kept snatching my hands and rolling her eyes when I asked questions. My nails started popping off and lifting 3 days later. Its a little over a week and all my nails are off. Total waste of money. The shop is dirty too. Floor and furniture is gross. Do not go here.
They give bad attitude and very mean, she gives and appointment and when you show up she’ll tell you I’m too busy. Absolute horrible!

They do a really great job here. They are just a tad bit rude. I was late for my appointment and they made sure they expressed how they felt even after me apologizing and saying I can reschedule. Everyone was offered drinks and were being treated very differently than me.
Awesome. Love this salon. I went to a place by me instead of coming back here and I so regret going elsewhere. My nails and toe nails are jacked. I will make sure once my nails heal to come back and no where else.

MiMi polished my toes and I had bubbles in paint. Got an attitude when told. She repolished and still had bubbles in paint. I know she saw the bubbles. Clearly you can see them here! Bad service trying to rush!
Updated 6/19/21 : so Ive been back here 3 times in the past week and 1 day to fix my manicure. I wear gloves all day, so theres no reason the shellac should have come off of my nails so quickly. I came here on Thursday to fix the nails that were done on the 10th. So I come back on the 17th because 4 nails were messed up. On the 18th, 4 of those nails plus 2 more, the shellac came off.They had the nerve to say since Im coming from Belleville, they suggest I find somewhere closer to me to get my nails done. Wow. Okay. I mean, I was, but to tell a customer that instead of owning up to your performance is kind of messed up. They fixed it quickly with an attitude, but bet this comes off in 2 days. I will not be back! Sad too, because they actually did great work!They were in such a damn rush that they cured nail polish onto my skin, the damn palm at that. How tf that work out?Yeah, scratch this part of the original review: Really appreciated the work they did. Very friendly as well

I was a customer for a long time and I recommended a lot of my friends and family to get there nails done here. I had an appointment on Friday at 6 pm, I was 5 minutes late because of an accident on the freeway and they didn’t see me and I wait for them all time. Also, I noticed they treat there white customers nicer than the clients of color. I’m taking my friends and family somewhere else.
Refused to make me an appointment to come in and have my nails fixed after someone else did a bad job... she told me that they dont have time and go back to the place that messes them up in the first place.... I want to give you business and you refuse to even give me an appointmebt.... Im new in town and desperately need a good nail tech...if they did a good job fixing my nails I would certainly be a returning customer.... no need to be rude and turn away paying customers
I love Family Nails and have been going here for years they never disappoint! Mimi and Jasmine are the best. Everyone is always so nice. I moved out of state and everytime i was home for a visit i always came back to Family Nails. I wont go anywhere else!
I love this nail shop. My first walk-in was with Mimi. I was a little nervous because I had some bad experiences elsewhere, but everyone was so very accommodating and professional. They had a broad selection of polish, and my nails were absolutely beautiful in the end. Ive been to one other person since, and they did an amazing job as well. Great experience!
Love this place. They are busy a lot so sometimes they have asked me to come back later when I don’t have an appointment. They give me a time to come back. That way I’m not sitting and wasting time. Even if there are people who “don’t seem busy”, they are not going to start doing your nails when they have an appointment coming soon. They are actually as accommodating as they can be. That being said, Mimi (who is hilarious and a lot of fun), Kevin & Jasmine are the top talents there. I don’t let ANYBODY but Mimi touch my eyebrows. All give good mani/pedis. The most talented are always in demand and you might have to wait for them. This is how much I like them: I moved to Ohio but it seems like every time I come to visit I come to the shop. Going to try to squeeze in time today to get my eyebrows done. 🤨
They do good nails but are lacking in customer service area. Mimi decides when she wants to be hospitable and decent and is often rude. I wanted to stay and like them but Id rather give my money to someone with better service. Today was my last day
This is a great place to go if youd like to be disrespected!! My mother and I were walk ins this past Saturday. I called ahead to see if we could be accommodated last minute. The young lady fit me in since someone was late for their appointment. I had no idea she didnt take my name and number.I ended up getting a full set even though I was only there for a fill and my mom got shellac. Thr older gentleman did my nails and feet.Fast forward to today, Thursday, three of my nails are lifting after no major activity. They didnt even last a week!I went back to get a repair, wasnt even looking for a refund, even though I should have. Several of the techs took a look at my nails and asked me who did them. Each time I pointed him out. The older lady just put glue on my nails and Im sitting there like, I could have done that.Then they were going through their book trying to find my name and number. I tried to explain I was a walk in. The the older lady had the nerve to tell me I didnt get my nails done there. Shocked 😲 🙀, I started getting defensive , like why would I go to a random shop and accuse them of doing a shabby job!!!I stormed out and will never return, they dont deserve my money!

I do not recommend this place. 2 of the workers were not wearing masks. Their service is terrible. Today when I was getting my nails done the guy filed my nails too short, he rushed through my nails and when I was trying to explain what I wanted he told me I was picky. On another occasion I was told I was a difficult client. The last 2 times I went I made an appt and one time I waited almost 2 hours until somebody started on my nails. Do not go here.
The techs are amazing and very talented and friendly but the owner MiMi? Has a real problem with black women. I have sent others in to the shop because they loved my nails, and her treatment towards them was very rude and cold as compared to her Caucasian clients. I was so upset at her treatment towards me recently I was shaking when I left because I truly wanted to curse her out and cause a scene. I hate I have referred so many to this salon knowing I helped line her pockets, but I will not be going back. I would drive 30 min to this salon twice a month, not again.
Took 2.5 hours for a mani/ pedi. Left with uneven nails, and still have debris on my hands. Didn’t have the first 5 colors I picked out. We made an appointment and didn’t have to wait so that was nice. Be careful who does your nails. Almost feel bad because I don’t think it’s her fault but I would not return.. cleanliness due to covid is not in place.. do not recommend.
Walk in’s are not welcomed. I walked in at 6:15 on Thursday (online hrs says open till 8) and the women in charge called me rude in front of everyone because I didn’t have an appointment. I was very polite when I came in and asked for a mani and pedi. I’m new to the area and never been there before. I believe they advertise walk-ins are welcome which is not the case. VERY RUDE
Went to come in for a simple repair on a nail got basically told to get out of the store and come later due to not making an appointment for a SIMPLE REPAIR BECAUSE THEY MADE ONE NAIL TOO THIN. Even though there was three people and one was helping another customer. Attitude is off the hook at the place with Kevin. Just snappy and rude to his customers. Sure they do great work but expect to get an attitude from this nail place.
Rude . Mimi makes you feel as if you are imposing on her day by asking for your nails to be done , poor customer service . Old outdated salon. Only came because they were open late . Never again.

I dodged a bullet here. I googled the Top Rated salons in the area I was in, with a 4 star rating I ended up at Family Nails. When I walked in, the lady, who all the reviews says was a nice and caring mom type, snapped what do you need. I told her a soak off and manicure. Nobody even responded, nobody told me to go pick out a polish. Nobody said how long the wait could be, nothing. After 45 min of sitting on their disgusting furniture I started to actually read the reviews. One customer stated that they pick and choose who to be nice to, it makes sense to me, because about 3 people walked in after me and the older lady stopped what she was doing to get a good understanding of what the customer wanted, then told them to go pick out a color and someone will be available soon. Then I started reading about how everyones nails were chipping or lifting or whatever from cheap products, which is why I left my last salon. So after about an hour of waiting and not even being spoken to I left. No thank you.

They took my walk in appointment and the laddies where super nice! And they did a amazing job and were very helpful and I only paid 35$ for long acrylics coffin shaped and 3 different designs along with rhinestones.

Although I love Chang I’m NEVER coming back here because they keep turning me around stating that they’re too busy for the last 3 times I’ve come. When I was inquiring about appointments they said no we accept walk ins it’s fine but all of sudden I have to call I’m super over this and will not be returning due to the inconvenience this place has caused me the past few weeks.

This place is a nice place. But Mimi husband is very rude. And after an argument over the price for shellac nails with her husband. she explained to me about what he was trying to say to me. Then after coming back she begin to become rude.. And most of the times I just go in and get my eyebrows done and I always I have to tell her I like them shaped and she gave me Attitude so after that I just stop going back there Because some of them in that shop got rude mouths.
PLAN to wait an hour EVEN if you have an appointment this is my third time coming as they are good nail techs but Time management is horrible third time is a charm for meIn 6 weeks without one apology. I suggest you find a better family oriented nail tech
I came here after a recommendation after i had a not so good job at another place. I had a great experience. Kevin did my nails & he made me feel sp pampered & made sure i had a great experience. He paid so much attention to the little detaials which mean alot. He also kept good decent conversation. I would recommend this place!
Went in for pink and white acrylic full set. They are really thick and the corners werent filed so they are sharp. I feel Mimi rushed through. She had her headphones in the entire time, kept answering the phone on speaker and asked me what the customer was asking and was eating from her drawer in between steps. I dont think Ill go back to this place, I think I can find better.
Do not come here if you are sensitive & care about customer service. The owner, Mimi is rude & will insult you. Even if you make an appointment you end up waiting over an hour. They do good quality work though. So, if you can handle the wait and rudeness, great place!
I have been searching for a nail shop..to do my nails how i like them done..and i was beyond pleased. So with that being said this is my new nail place. UPDATE the lady in charge has a very bad attitude...they are very rude..I stop going after the first couple of times because although they do a great job with the nails they are just freaking rude as ever. So I wont be going back here.
I’ve waited hours for a manicure. So I made an appt and still waited but stuck it out. I make another appt missed the appt and I forgot to call so then next time I went in I said hello to the girl that I see and then they starting talking in their language and told me they could not see me. I was so embarrassed

OK so! They are very friendly, fast and have great technique, BUT It’s clear they must use cheap acrylic, I gave them a few tries because I like the work but each time my nails Pop or break off. I am so disappointed
This use to be one of my favorite nail salons. It appears that they pick and choose which customers they do and dont like. Ive never made a fuss or had a issue while being serviced there. Just all of a sudden it seems like there was an issue. My money spends wherever i go.
Very rude workers ,especialy mimi the owner. Shes got a very bad attitude . She made me wait for so long, and when i complained she start yelling at me ,and speaking her language with other girl. My mother turned me on to this place. My entire family and I went here for YEARS for all our manis, pedis, and waxing. One day I needed a nail fixed before I went on a date and MiMi wanted me to wait ONE HOUR! To repair one nail. One girl even offered me to go in front of her. She said no. Horribly long wait times, VERY short staffed ALWAYS! I do not recommend this place to anyone! Two Thumbs down!

Used to be my favorite place! I love Jasmine :) shes always sweet and does an excellent job on my nails, always! And I will truly miss her! Recently Ive been feeling awkward when going in there. Ive been a good regular since summer (P.s. I drive from Detroit to garden city just for this place 😕) and the last 2-3 times Ive been in Mimi has been awful! completely ignored us (myself and daughter) never greeted us, looked at us, said thank you goodbye, nothing! A bit of an attitude for no reason. Im upset! Shes usually always nice to us, gives my kids treats and even gave them money one time for snacks from next door at speedway. I asked if I had did something wrong because she blatantly ignored me when I asked her to wax my daughters eyebrows! 😳 I couldnt believe it! Ive done nothing wrong, only come in regularly and spend quite a bit of money there too. Pfft not anymore. I just cant, theres no way I would ever go back to a place of business where I feel unwanted, completely uncomfortable and treated like garbage. Im bummed because now I have to find another place/person that I will actually like that does a good job. Its hard to come by...
I wont be going back. The people for the most part are friendly but I waited for over an hour before I even got put into a chair and after paying over 40 bucks for a full set they started popping up a week after I got them done and one of the nails fell off completely.
I try to come in there to get two nails fixed and they let me sit there for 20 minutes knowing what I wanted and then telling me I need an appointment and telling me that they didn’t have any time today.

2022-04-15Super cute BUT not what I asked for. I picked a color I liked and showed a design I wanted on my big toe. He said he could do it and I was happy then as my feet are soaking he tells me that the color I picked was too old for me. (mind you it was a purple color) So he made me pick a different color. After that he mumbled something about glitter and I was like okay sure and it came down to painting my nails he completely did not do the design I wanted.... So basically I didnt get what I wanted but I did enjoy the salon it was clean and everyone was nice and my toes do not look bad but for sure not what I wanted.

I did a pedicure here and they actually take their time and not rush. I wish i could remember the young woman’s name that took care of me..nonetheless, they are amazing.

2022-03-19Stopped into Family nails for the first time. They really took their time and did a great job. They payed attention to details in my toe and finger nails when providing the mani/pedi. Also got eyebrow wax and that came out good.Usually I go to a nail salon in royal oak but now that I’ve moved to Westland area, I’ve been looking for a new spot. Will definitely return. Nail techs are very friendly.Good prices.

2017-03-09I have had a hard time looking for a great, reliable salon and after my first visit, I think have finally found it. My first visit was excellent. Even though two other women were waiting she took her time and showed me all the different colors and styles they offered, I honestly was amazed. I am seriously in love.

2022-06-09I didnt even have my nails done but a week in a half and my nail came off ne er had that happen before I will not be coming back
