Im kicking myself in the butt for never trying this cafe before today!I worked in Auburn Hills for years but never stopped in because, in my mind, their menu was going to be limited to diner type food. Boy was I wrong!!!This place is absolutely great and their prices are very reasonable. In addition to their indoor seating, they also have a few tables outside. Im all about being able to eat outside, especially in the Summer. Our Waitress was super nice and got our order 100% correct. This was very refreshing, especially in todays world where very little is done right.Ill definitely be back now that I know how good the food is! I highly recommend that you try it, too.
Great place! My husband and I love coming here for brunch. They have great sandwiches and omletes. The photo attached is of the pesto chicken sandwich. The pesto is so fresh and absolutely delicious. The veggie omlete with goat cheese is also great. Out favorite thing on their menu is the veggie bowl. We have also enjoyed the nutella french toast. Great place for a family to enjoy their meals.
This is a good place if you want to have breakfast on a weekend with your friends and family. The ambience is moderate to good. But the one thing is really liked about the place was the quality of the food and service. We had a chicken sandwich and a Veggie Omelette which was great to taste! The service was prompt and good. Not too expensive either.Overall, a perfect place for breakfast on the weekends!
The Family Table Cafe has the best Breakfast in Metro Detroit! Family owned, family ran. The coffee alone is worth the trip. We come for the Ricotta and Raspberry Stuffed French Toast, Breakfast Burrito, and Monkey Bread! Service is welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Kudos!
Very cute place in downtown Auburn Hills with excellent homemade food. The service is very good, people are friendly, and the food was fantastic. Very clean and sleek inside. It is a bit more pricey than a diner but its well worth it. Havent tried breakfast yet. Will be back
Delicious food, portions are not massive but what a normal dish serving I think would be considered. Pricing is reasonable but with the portions if youre looking for a large breakfast this would not satisfy. Food was delicious and fresh. Service was very friendly and fast! Great local diner I would absolutely eat at again. Only dropped one star for value but overall this restaurant is great!
My girlfriend and I were looking around for a nice place to grab breakfast/brunch, and stumbled upon Family Table Cafe right downtown! We came right after the morning rush and sat down immediately. I got a coffee, and had the choice between light and dark roasts. I chose the light roast, and it was great! They were very attentive with coffee and water refills, which was greatly appreciated. This was our first time here, so we ordered a little bit of everything. We had the Cali Benedict, BYO Omelette, and a small order of chocolate chip pancakes. Everything was amazingly fresh and delicious! The eggs benedict were perfectly runny, the pancakes were light and fluffy, they were very generous with the bacon in the omelette, and the fruit was perfect! And to top it all off the price was very reasonable, and the portions were as expected. The time between ordering and getting our food was a bit slower than desired though, but two guys had very large carry out orders right in the middle of our stay so that might have affected things. Looking forward to coming again!
No complaints. The staff was friendly, the food was fresh and flavorful. I got a burger and tater tots. The burger was very homemade tasting. The tots were crispy. Very very kind staff. Soda was good. Would go back again if I’m in the area. Very small place so plan for that!
This place is literally in downtown Auburn Hills and they serve brunch seven days a week. The seating is open (customers seat themselves) however we were greeted by a couple of employees as we made our way to a table. The menu is has great selections for breakfast including a few items that include a house-made Hollandaise. Everything we ordered was great tasting and thoughtfully prepared and plated. The service was fast and our server was very friendly. Im looking forward to going back for their homemade Belgium waffles. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for something different than a coney breakfast.
Went for breakfast on a weekend. Overall we were dissatisfied. Service was okay, couldnt get refills on coffee, server seemed friendly yet unattentive. Aftet meal, never came back except to give the bill. French toast Order came Room temperature, and was fairly dry. Kids rainbow pancakes were inedible. They were very rubbery/chewy, and didnt have a good taste. Daughter would not eat them. The avocado eggs Benedict, was 10 for a normal small English muffin, poached egg and 2 tiny pieces of avocado. The sauce was a avocado blended hollandaise concoction, was okay but felt like it just tasted like avocado. Nothing else for the 10 dollars besides an orange slice on the plate. Ended up paying and going somewhere else to feed the family.
Overall a really cute diner with nice wait staff. I ordered the veggie omelet which was tasty.Only making 4 stars instead of 5 because the creamer for coffee is only those little individual creamer cups. And they didn’t have the type of salsa I like (cholula). But coffee was still good and I’ll make due with tobasco sauce.
My wife and I visited with our two small children age 3 and 4 months on Sat. Aug 13. Immediately upon seating ourselves at an unoccupied booth, a server brought us a complimentary monkey bread pastry of cinnamon and sugar as they were experiencing 20 minute ticket times. Our drinks order came within seconds and our oldest daughter was given a cute coloring page to keep her occupied. When our food came the first thing I noticed was FRESH. The salsa on my Mexican omelet was sapid and light, with notes of cilantro and fresh pico de gallo. My wifes Ricotta and Raspberry French Toast was grilled to perfection and quite delectable. Our daughters Rainbow Pancakes were lively and colorful, so much so that at home today for breakfast, I was asked to replicate them again.I have worked as a business professional in the Auburn Hills community for then past 14 years. To say that I have sampled fare from business lunch to catered breakfast in the community would be just scratching the surface. While the new Family Table Cafe should not be compared to be the old Toasted Bun, it should definitely be given a few visits to enjoy and divulge in their carefully crafted menu. Frankly, these are new owners with a new concept. The previous restaurant was a local favorite, but the new atmosphere plays on their culinary strengths to elevate the cuisine they share. I will state that if you are trying to get something quick, in and out, this should not be your first choice. Fresh food will always take a bit longer to prepare and serve, but the new owners are looking to make this an affordable, breakfast, lunch, and brunch gem.The fresh paint and white table cloths, along with a staff in white polos or oxfords and black dress pants, give a professional, yet homey feel to a class establishment. The place was packed when we dined and Im sure that as they get more in a groove, food orders will be faster and tables will be turned over more efficiently. The sampling of fare intrigued us to want to repeat our visit several times over. Keep up the good work and save us a seat as we will definitely be back.
Family table is honestly my favorite restaurant. They have fantastic vegetarian options. It’s always very clean and there’s never a long wait for a table or your food. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. This is a restaurant that truly values it patrons and you can feel that as soon as you walk through the door.
Stopped here after eastern market to get some quick breakfast and saw the good reviews. Besides the food being absolutely amazing I was blown away with the service for how busy it was. I don’t think my water was ever left half full. Even when we left EVERY single employee said have a wonderful day. Coffee was great and again never halfway. My girlfriend and I both walked out saying the same thing. that was by far the best service at a restaurant we’ve ever had. When employees enjoy the job you can tell and know the owner is doing something right. my only complaint is I don’t live close.
This is the best restaurant in the Auburn Hills area. The food always tastes very fresh and delicious but with diner prices. All of the employees are beyond friendly. They are also accommodating to substitutions and requests for my child. The name is fitting for the family atmosphere they provide.
Service was great. I wasn’t crazy impressed by the food but it was good. The waitress Sarah, I believe was her name, was amazing. Awesome service by her. The food came out in a timely manner and was presented well. The menu did have all important aspects. I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich. The spinach was great. The chicken was a tad bit dry but other than that it was good. My friends enjoyed their meal as well. Once again, I wasn’t blown away which is why I’m not giving 5. But it’s definitely worth checking out!
I’m amazed at the rating of this place; it’s not that good. The biscuits are among the worst I’ve ever had. They were like hockey pucks. What is up with that? How often do you all make them? Once a month? I don’t know, I guess when you are the only place in town, people give you higher ratings.
I absolutely adore this place! Not only is the food excellent, but the staff has a light about them that cant go unseen. Their menu is diverse, the building itself is always clean, and their ticket times are quick and efficient. I especially love their breakfast quesadilla and the chicken caesar wrap! If you are to support any small business, let this be the one!
This is a fantastic spot for breakfast in downtown Rochester. They have outdoor seating as well, and their service is very quick. Their food is very good as well, 8/10 on a bad day, 10/10 for breakfast alone. I meet with a friend here once a month just for breakfast outside.
We were looking for a good breakfast place off I-75 (about a mile), it was definitely worth the stop. Nice diner-like, family atmosphere and the food was awesome! I had the breakfast burrito and 1/2 order of stuffed raspberry french toast....I couldn’t decide between sweet or savory. Anyhow, they were both awesome and I had leftovers. Loved the food, we will be back!
Hands down the very best place to eat in Auburn Hills and probably all of Michigan...Maybe the United States. The service is more than great, and the food is beyond 5 stars. I wish there were more stars to give this place because they honestly deserve them. Im vegetarian and have ordered and eaten multiple dishes from thier menu. Ive now been coming here for over a year, and have never been disappointed. If Gordon Ramsay came to Michigan I would recommend he come eat here because I honestly dont think he would have one bad thing to say about this place. This restaurant makes me proud to live where I do. Thank you family table cafe for always giving me and many others exactly what they need. I place they know they can trust, no matter what they order. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐♾
The First time ordering and will be the last time. My spinach mushrooms feta omelet with egg whites was cold, rubbery, and missing the feta cheese. The biscuits, and the waffle were also cold and soggy. The second order pancakes and eggs required re-heating. I tracked the order and my delivery person waited for the order to be prepared and came straight here only about a 4 mile trip straight down Auburn. The delivery was timely, so my food should have had a little warmth to it. I rely heavily on grocery and restaurant deliveries so I can avoid going out unless its absolutely necessary, because of my medical issues. Ill happily take my business elsewhere I just cant justify supporting a business that doesnt support me.
An average stop if your nearby and within the area but nothing that makes you want to rush down to.Waitstaff was attentive and kind. However, breakfast dishes werent as exciting as they sounded compared to other cafes within the area. There wasnt a wow factor towards the presentation or taste of the meals my group had.Overall, simple eats but photos of lunch look more appetizing than breakfast.
We walked in we were promptly seated they have a code thing you scan with your phone it pops up the menu for you on your phone you pick what you want they have you sign a document with your name and your address just in case you came in contact with covid or they have a case. it didnt take long for our food to arrive it was perfect everything was good. we checked out and left it was a wonderful time. I will go again
I love this place. Its a beautiful cafe with food made from real ingredients and I cant say enough about the service. These are some of the best people youll ever meet. Everything on the menu rocks, but my faves are the Nutella & Banana French toast, the chive biscuit which comes with any of their HUGE salads, and the sweet potato fries. They have a house made cinnamon whipped butter you gotta try with those!! Hands down an Auburn Hills gem.
Great restaurant - the menu has all the classics and new, creative dishes. I had the apple white cheddar omelet and it was absolutely delicious. The fruit cup was super fresh too. This is a family business with hardworking owners, and I highly recommend Family Table Cafe.
The food here is really good, but it doesn’t seem quite good enough to justify the prices they put on small portions. The portions definitely don’t compete with most other breakfast places. It’s rare to leave a breakfast place still hungry, but it seems like that always happens when I eat here. Also, the service takes so long that it makes it extremely difficult to eat here with kids. I really want this to be a five-star review, but it never seems to work out that way.
Its a cozy little place with a friendly staff and good food. The food is definitely better than I expected from this unassuming diner. I didnt really order much, because I was fighting a cold, but my eggs and toast were perfectly prepared. Those are both things that to me have a narrow window of when they are sufficiently cooked to becoming overcooked, so I appreciated it. My friends ordered the Mexican omelet with avocado and those looked quite delicious as well with quality ingredients.
Havent been here since the new ownership took over a while ago and now I know why I havent. Took 40 mins to get breakfast for a two top. Server never checked on us. Food has bland and greasy. Toast was drenched in whirl. Omelets are over cooked, biscuits dried out and premade gravy is just horrid.
Nice little hidden gem of a diner. Very cozy and family friendly, great to sit alone reading the paper enjoying breakfast as well. Food is fast and quality, I loved their breakfast burrito! The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, my glass of water was never low nor my coffee.
Had waffle, scrambled eggs and bacon.Everything was tasteless. Poorly scrambled eggs. Cheap bacon, the waffle tasted as if no seasoning of any kind had been put in it.The one star was for the ok cup of coffee.Server was nice.Tables were nicely done but floor looked like it had not been cleaned this winter season.
Really nice service here, the coffee is always fresh tasting and good. The food here is also always fresh tasting and its all reasonably priced. We love coming in and trying new things as they got some really interesting food options here that are not your typical diner options although dont worry they still have some classics. If you ever in the area and want a good breakfast or lunch try here but be careful it can get packed.
I placed a large breakfast order on a Tue. for a Wed. morning pick up for a film crew. The order was packaged and ready at 6:45am when I arrived. The food was hot when I delivered it and not one item was missing or incorrect! My crew was happy and ready to start their day! Excellent, friendly staff, a great place for breakfast!
I was in town for a wedding and stopped in here on a whim for breakfast. It greatly exceeded my expectations. I ordered an omelette, cinnamon roll pancakes and some coffee. The cinnamon roll pancakes were incredible, my friend and I ate those before anything else and both agreed they were superb. When I ordered my coffee, they asked if I wanted light or dark roast, and the coffee was good. Im generally terrified of dinner coffee but was pleasantly surprised with theirs. My omelette and my friends breakfast sandwich were both very good as well. If I lived closer, I would absolutely frequent this place on a regular basis.
Everything was excellent. Every single person we interacted with was friendly. The food was excellent. Try the homemade potato chips, they were delicious. The sandwich I ordered was great and the price was super cheap for what I received. I will, without adoubt, be returning.
Not only has the Family Table continued to defy my expectations every time I walk through the door, but the menu is amazing. Never have I had a bad item. The staff is beyond helpful and friendly, treating us just like their own family. The desserts, get out of here, are they incredible. I dont think any breakfast place could top the all around PERFECT (see 5/5 above) experience had at Family Table. Try the riddles and the Veggie Bowl. You wont be disappointed. 8
Family Table is my all-time favorite breakfast spot. The menu is full of unique options, including house-made pastries, all delicious. The daily riddles entertain me while I tuck into a delightful meal. The staff are amazing. Managing partners Brandon and Jocelyn are siblings and I would willingly die for them. I have even met their mother. She is also wonderful.
This is by far the greatest local restaurant Ive ever been to. The food is great, the atmosphere is great, the location is great, and the staff is phenomenal! This cafe is one of the few things I genuinely miss about Auburn Hills. The Mexican Omelette is so good that my mouth has been watering from a Pavlovian response to the words Family Table Cafe. The chorizo is perfect, and the pico de gallo tastes like it came fresh from mi hermanos garden.Stop in for breakfast, and youll see what Im talking about. Tip the staff fat, because they treat you & feed you like royalty.
Ok great when they first open. Servers now not experenced to young. Cooks lacking safe cooking methods serving raw sausage under cooked bacon smells of burnt food under cooked eggs. French toast full order 4 half slices. The owner is great really nice place needs to get more talented staff. Wiil go back we want this place around for a long time.
First visit this morning. For sure, not the last. Food is creative and delicious. My friend had eggs benedict with avocado hollandaise sauce. I had the chorizo omelet, and chose parmesan grits, biscuits for my sides. The monkey bread is a sinful treat. Next time will try the homemade scones. Waitress was very friendly, helpful, checked on us for coffee refills. Great prices too.
Updated review (10/01/18)- Any odor issues we encountered have been resolved! No more smelling odd after enjoying the great food here.Thank you for taking action on this and Im glad to be able eat here, scent free! 😁 👍 💯🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Updated review (8/31/18)- Docked a star because lately weve been returning to work smelling heavily like the kitchen. Weve been going to Family Table for lunch for over a year now, about once to twice a week. Im not sure what changed within the last month or so, but the last handful of times we went, we left with our clothes holding a strong kitchen odor, like a greasy smell. Reminds me of how you smell after cooking your own steak at Black Rock.I love their BBQ chicken wrap and sweet potato fries which come with a sweet brown sugary cinnamon dip. Service is always great!
Didnt know what to expect...first time there...the moment i walked in it was a light of sunshine the smiles the smells...ordered breakfast...an as i was waiting, saw all the wonder foods passing by...my breakfast was awesome...thank you...will definitely be back to try some other dishes..a must try....p

2022-03-02Came here for the first time and had high hopes due to hearing such great reviews of Family Table. It’s a very inviting and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly and I would probably come back to try the lunch menu and other items. The food was just alright in my opinion. The Parmesan grits I had heard great things about so I wanted to try them. The grits themselves were bland and lacking seasoning. If it wasn’t for the Parmesan tuile, I’d say they would be a total miss. However, when eaten together, it wasn’t half bad. The breakfast quesadilla was not bad. It was what was expected. I think I really need to dive into the menu more in order to get a better review. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get breakfast/lunch. My only wish is that they were open later for dinner.

2022-04-09Awesome experience! Wonderful service (Leah was so friendly and attentive to us). My Breakfast Quesidilla was really good. My wife said the same about hers and my son really enjoyed his Southwestern Omelet. Highly recommend 🙂

2022-05-08Great food and staff.Hopping place on a Sunday @8:30am. Snagged the last indoor table by the door. Immediately greeted and seated and asked if we wanted a beverage. Despite the activity, our server did a great job of attending to us. Food was excellent and fresh tasting. Pricing was as expected or maybe even a tad cheaper for the area.Lots of guests came in the door, but nobody waited more than 5-10 minutes before they were seated. As other reviews have mentioned, this place knows what it is doing. I would definitely recommend it!

2022-02-27My husband and I love coming here every weekend before we go grocery shopping! It’s our usual breakfast spot because the service is AMAZING and the food is so comforting. We love the servers, especially Sara, Renee, Leah, and Orlando…they’re the absolute best to talk with!!!! Food never disappoints and it can be crowded but that’s because everyone loves to come by for good food and even better vibes!Signed: The Harris on Sundays

2021-11-06Lets start with the positive things first. The restaurant is so cute, the wait staff was friendly and attentive, the coffee was delicious, and the presentation of the food was fantastic.Unfortunately as soon as I took a bite of my eggs benedict I was disappointed. It was the most bland meal I have had in a long time. I attempted to add just a bit of salt to help it... and then all I tasted was salt. I was very disappointed.

2021-09-05They seem fully staffed, and to be that way in this season they must be doing something right. The waiter was very polite and all the food was great. Prices are reasonable.

2022-07-17They were busy, but was still attentive. Food was really good. Only gluten free bread, not pancake batter.

2022-03-12So good! Fresh ingredients and food came out fast. Money bread is to die for. They have such a great variety of menu items that this will be my new go-to spot. It was a super busy Saturday and our waitress was still super on top of things and very friendly.
