Famous Daves Bar-B-Que in other cities:
Waitress was kind of rude appeared to be out there on something oh well good help is hard to find I guess the worst part of it was I ordered chicken breast and fries and the brests were 2 small halfscut off at the tip of the chicken wings leaving barely enough chicken to make a small sandwich. Dont know what they did with the rest of the breast(the meaty side) I would have preferred that.Only thing that was good was the corn muffins infamous
Ordered a Signature Sampler Platter and the only thing cooked properly was the catfish! Tried to send atleast my fried pickles back after being too over done to eat, came out the 2nd time just the same. Ribs and chicken were both overcooked. Increased prices and decreased quality.
FAMOUS DAVES IS THE WORST RESTAURANT YOU COULD EVER GO TO . THEY LACED MY DAUGHTER DRINK & THEY GAVE ME FOOD POISONING. ALSO THEY ARE VERY RACIST , THEY WOULD NOT LET ME GO TO THE BATHROOM BECAUSE I AM AN AFRICAN AMERICAN . DO NOT COME HERE . THEY FOOD IS VERY SOGGY .
First time eating here and I have to say I was really impressed. Even in the midst of the Covid-19 issues they did a great job of offering specials, ordering our food, maintaining drinks and delivering delicious food. I picked the 3-meat lunch special with bbq chicken, rib tips and cheese jalapeno sausage. Their cornbread is tasty and fluffy. I had a great experience and will plan to go back very soon!
A favorite of ours for quite a few years. Ive seen many decry Daves for being corporate and not tasting like home or pit cooked barbecue. Its true, it doesnt. How many of us have the time or energy to smoke brisket, roast chicken, make burnt ends whip up smokey mashed ect ect ect. This is a great sit down place to get good food at a decent price. These 3 pictures plus 2 pork sandwiches and one other salad came to 93$ and fed a family of 5 for 3 meals. The food was juicy, tender, warm and cold all In the places it needed to be.The young lady that attended to our curbside pickup was courteous and friendly. She even apologized for the wait, when I didnt even fell like much of a wait was had.Anyhow, we are in Flint, MI not in the heart of bbq country, and when other bbq places close at 7 (what is that?) Daves is open till 9. Its a great place to fill your plate and enjoy your food.
This is our go-to barbeque restaurant in the area. Our waiter Alex went out of his way to make sure our dining experience was outstanding. Meals here are not exactly cheap BUT you get what you pay for. If you want good homestyle BBQ and a nice atmosphere, you have found it. BTW, this location generally is busy but they get you seated quickly.
Service is very good with a friendly staff. I thought the food was ok, but a little to much on the spicy side for me. The prices are on the high side with limit of side items to choose from. Had to pay 2.50 extra for a baked potatoes and the same for a toss salad. I think they should have been on the list of sides to choose from.
There was NOTHING special about those ribs, very disappointing. It was my first time; however the brisket was cooked perfectly and the grilled chicken fabulous. The corn, baked beans and coleslaw nothing special. The value was good. I though the price was fair. My waitress could have definitely been more attentive. It took our food over 30 minutes to come, they eventually blamed it on waiting for the chicken. The chicken is hot but our other food barely warm. I wish they would have brought our food when it was hot and then apologize and brought the chicken later. The only reason I wouldnt go back is because if Famous Dave is based on the reputation of ribs they failed the standard but if you get pass that you may just enjoy Famous Daves
I remember the Famous Daves from a few years ago and it was nothing like that when I stopped by just recently. I was entertaining family from out of town and the food is so skimpy it is really embarresing. I ordered the 2 meats 🍖 on the menu Catfish and Chicken. They came out with this little skimpy plate three of the smallest catfish straps I ever seen and two small chicken strips. Came with 2 sides. It was less than a kids meal. I asked the waitress who seem to be new and she was embarrassed as well, but said this is what they are serving. I will not be back!
This Thanksgiving my kitchen was out of commission. Its also the first year that my mother, 84, could not make dinner. I decided to order the Turkey Feast, it was the best decision I made. We also added on ribs...best ever! Thank you to those that made it possible...I am so thankful! #newtradition
It is 5:35 right now. 6 is the busiest time if the day shown by the graph. Tbh I think that this is one of the best places to get ribs in Michigan. The place sets more of a country tone. Has pros from famous car companies. Normally very clean. There are concrete floors so not great for children to be on the outside of a booth. Waiters/waitresses are amazing. Management is average. Nothing special. Brings milk to customers who need it. Great place for country men. Ages 20+
The food was not bad but the people that greeted you at the door were completely rude. I personally did not have a problem with them but I watched them continue being rude to customer after customer that walked in while I waited for a table. They lied to customers About the wait time just to make them leave I know this because the people that came in right after us were told 20 minutes and they turned around and left because it was too long of a wait.. The next people that came in right behind them were told 30 minutes. After we got seated it was a little bit of a wait but that is completely understandable because of lack of help in the industry. But short staff does not allow for rudeness. A 60 plus year old woman walked through the place to get her take out order and a lady approached her told her that she needed to leave even though her order was right on the table in front of her and drive around to the back to pick it up. Thankfully another wait staff stepped in and helped her. I understand that the customer is not always right but a few of the people there were treating the customers like they are always wrong. At the end of the meal I addressed the issues with my waitress which was 5 stars, hopefully she reports the problem. What little interaction I have had with the owner I know that he would not be OK with this..... it is just poor management. Hopefully the women at the front desk and the woman at the take out Will be educated on how to deal with and talk to customers
As always, the food is amazing. The only reason my review today is a four star, is because it took them 20 minutes to bring out a quart of Wilbur beans to my car. No worries since they are worth the wait LOL Im glad to see that they are busy even after the shutdown in Michigan.
The food was just okay. I havent had Famous Daves in at least 4 years but the ribs were not seasoned at all. I also had rib tips and catfish that were seasoned perfectly so no clue what happened to the ribs. I also had to wait about 30 minutes after my pickup time for my order.
So its mothers day. We knew they would be busy so we stopped in the day before to ask what the procedure was for ordering ahead. The young woman at the front desk told us we had to drive around and talk to the people that pick up to place our order we did so and was informed by the young woman who was out there that we couldnt do that. When I responded with oh the girl inside said we could, she said let me get my manager. The manager came out and told us we would have to place our order online. She then told us that since it was mothers Day we would most likely have to get in line an hour before the time we wanted to pick up our dinner. I did so. An hour before I was supposed to pick up my dinner I was in line stretching out on the Miller road. At first the cars moved every 2 to 4 minutes. The closer I got the slower it got. I was on the property at the correct time. And in my Lane slot at just 20 minutes after my time. Here it is 2 hours after I entered the property, and 40 minutes after I parked in the slot they told me to and I am watching people who parked after me get their food before me. Never again. I started deducting tip money half an hour ago and now its all gone. Its now close to 50 minutes past the time I was putting this parking spot and a young woman just said to me were still waiting for your order it should be out soon. My family called from home, theyre ready for McDonalds.
Over the past 15 years Ive been coming here it started off great. The last three years the rib tips have been getting cut thinner and thinner. Last night was the last straw for me, a waste of money. I ordered takeout and didnt see my order until I got home. I would have been better off getting McDonalds. Famous Daves have officially lost my Business
I walked in at 8pm and the person that greeted me said their service was a little slow and they couldnt seat anyone else even though they were open until 9pm. I ask if I could make an order to go. After a little hesitation he said yes I could. So I sat at the bar, ordered and was out the door in less than 10 minutes. Now I have to say I was a little disappointed about the service. But the food was good.
So extremely disappointed in our most recent visit. We have always loved Famous Daves..until now. Visited with 2 other ladies. To make a long story short, we spent a decent amount of money dining in. My friend had a question about the bill.. I think it was around $7 or $8 discrepancy. The waitress got a gentleman that we afterwards found out was the kitchen manager. He not only refused to try to rectify the situation, he purposely was loud enough that other customers could hear. He was condescending and even mocked her. We literally had 2 other people at seperate tables say thats not right. You should ask for the owners information & dont let him ruin your day. Trust me when I say that this complaint is not over the less than $10 difference that was the original issue. I have been a manager and employee, a waitress and business owner..and I could never imagine in any circumstances justifying the way he spoke to us and what he said. A lady at a seperate table said she was going to call to complain. I dont know her so I dont know if she did or not but I would certainly love to talk to a DM, GM or owner if any have any interest in reaching out to me
We visited the Flint location on a Friday evening, for the first time in several years. We expected the place to be busy because the other restaurants in the area had lines of people waiting for tables. There was no line at Famous Dave’s and we soon found out why. From the iced tea (which tasted like chlorine) to the chopped pork (which tasted warmed over) to the brisket (which tasted like processed lunch meat) and burnt ends (which were just small cubes of fat without any carmelization or “burnt” aspect), there was not much worth waiting for here. The broccoli and mashed potatoes were good, but we decided that when we want barbecue in future, we will drive to Bad Brad’s in Auburn Hills.
Never ceases to amaze me how nickel-dimy and penny pinching these guys are and it started long before covid. I didnt complain a lot when they started charging extra for one of your sides to be a salad a couple years ago although we did go from visiting the restaurant couple times a month to maybe once a year. and its not just the salad there are other instances of the same type of thing. when we eat there last night all we got was a bowl of lettuce with some cucumbers turns out they dont give you cheese or egg with toss salad anymore unless you request it. anyways used to eat there a lot eat there rarely anymore.
Continued: The meals came out luke warm that the butter wouldnt melt on the mashed potatoes, broccoli, or corn cobs. The wall & decor picture at our table had old dried sauce splatter. We asked 2 different waiters to get our waitress after 10 minutes. We requested the manager & waited another 10 minutes. The manager finally compt our meal. BUT this is the worst BBQ shop in Flint, MI. This is the 3rd attempt at eating here. We will never eat here again!
The staff were friendly and what-not, but the food was subpar. The ribs were tough, almost flavorless, and luke warm. The burnt ends were okay but barely luke warm. The brisket was also tough and cold. There was not a whole lot of the barbecue flavor I was expecting from this place. Im from Oklahoma, so maybe Im used to a different kind of barbecue, but this was honestly very disappointing.
I first was skeptical to go here as I have never been and Im horrible with change but I am so glad we did first our service was fantastic and the food was unbelievable. We got the feast for two and it was soooo much food . I will be going here again also I will be using their caterinf.
My first time here in 5 years. I was a bit disappointed . The service was mediocre, honestly I dont think our server wanted to be there. Both sides I went for they didnt offer anymore and what I chose they were out of. My sandwich was child size and my server said it was 7oz it looked more like 3. Anyway probably would have returned but never even spoke to a manager.. Not good customer service Mr. Daves 😔
Hadnt been here in a couple of years. Truthfully, Ive never craved the food here, but I do believe thats just because of my flavor style. Its sort of like being either a cake person or a pie person. Im sort of a salt person and this is a sweet person place . . . The remulade is good though!
We walked in and there was another couple in front of us. The hostess came to the front and sat the people ahead of us. Another couple walked in while she was gone. The hostess came back and the couple that had just walked in said they never received a text saying their table was ready. They stated they were waiting for 50 minutes in the parking lot. To which the hostess replied, well, our list is gone. She then tried to seat my fiance and I first before the couple who had just stated, in front of us, that they had been waiting and we had only just arrived. At that point, I said to the couple that they could go first. The hostess then looked at me and my fiance and said, are you sure? Youll have to wait 30 minutes for a table. I said yes I am sure they have been waiting way before we got here. A server walked up and asked what was going on and all I could say was, that is bad customer service. I dont know what happened after that point because we just left. Ever since Covid, customer service and work ethic has gone out the window, completely. There are a select few that actually care about their job and their customers and that hostess isnt one of them.
I will never go their again. I ordered ahead for curbside take out. My food arrived more than 30 minutes after the time they told me to pick it up. After I arrived home In less than 10 minutes all the food was cold, and the 2 muffins were not in the bag. I certainly could have spent $45 somewhere else, and been a lot more happier. They have lost me as a customer forever.
I heard great things about Daves so the family was excited for dinner. There was already a 30 minute wait around 5pm. We waited patiently, excited to sample the goods. While our server was very personable, we didnt receive the level of service that we expected. I think they were understaffed for the amount of diners on hand, which made us feel sort of secondary. The food was good, but not amazing. I would still be willing to try it again had it not been for the price. I spent just shy of $100 on dinner for my wife and I, and two small children. I just cant justify spending that kind of cash on a meal for a lackluster dining experience.
I want to start by saying that I love Famous Daves food and their service has always been good with this exception.I placed an online order for a Mothers Day Platter along with the Famous Feast platter, a 5 gallon jug of lemonade, and a 6 piece side over of corn muffins plus I made sure to add a 15% percent tip. I did this all up front and I did it the day prior to make sure I would not have any hassle but would simply be able to receive my order and go.When I arrived 15 minutes early on Mothers Day, I arrived to complete chaos and a staff that was completely unprepared for the demand. The ladies who worked the to-go door, I am sure were trying their best but no system was in place to deal with the demand. The parking area being filled with cars made it difficult for orders to be matched with a purchaser. I had to drive around once in order to find a parking spot. I finally after waiting got out of my car along with 15 other customers to make sure we received our order. After an extended period of time one of the workers claimed we would be contacted by our cell phone number used with our online orders. I returned to my vehicle waiting for a call. After an hour and 10 minutes of waiting I decided to drive off without my order and drive to a local Taco Bell to purchase a mothers day meal.At 4PM in the afternoon and still having not received a call to pickup my food I decided to call the local number to cancel. I tried the correct option #4 to speak to a worker at the establishment but I only received dead air. I never received an order or a call to let me know my order is ready. When Daves dining area is open then I will return but until then I will not be purchasing food from the place.I know that in this pandemic that something like this would have been difficult to plan for but most of the orders were made in advance and as soon as management realized that demand was high they should have planned accordingly and at the very least called customers and let them know they could not fulfill the order. Please create a system to deal with the demand of holidays if your dining area will remain closed.
My boyfriend and I ate here tonight. It was busy with about a 20 minute wait, but it was well worth it! Our waiter was fantastic! He greeted us and took care of us from start to finish! Our meals were out of this world delicious! We will have more dinners out at this location in the future!
Placed online order at 5:30, for 6:45 pick up, get there at 6:45 & call for pick up and the young lady said just a few minutes. 7:15 I called again & was told my order is not ready and she would check on it, wait on hold for 2 minutes and listen to hold music for 2-3 minutes & then hang up, I have seen cars pull in and pull out and I am now up to 40 minutes since my scheduled pick up time. I am stuck because I already paid and pre tipped 20% because I get it that it is busy, but come on.
This was our 1st time visit at this restaurant in Flint. It was after the lunch crowd and it took awhile to get seated as the hostess was clearing & cleaning tables & did not know that people were waiting. We were seated & a very friendly waitress was there to get our drinks & take our order. My wife ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries & I had the brisket sandwich with fries & baked beans. The sandwiches were very tender & tasty as usual & fries likewise as were the baked beans. The waitress made sure that the order was for lunch & saved us some money. I would recommend this place to anyone if you like good food & a comfortable atmosphere along with a cold beer or soda.Dave
Refused to seat me and my family together for a birthday lunch even though there was not a single customer in the restaurant. I asked why and the “manager” Chad told me it was governors orders?!?! I questioned how the kitchen staff was not wearing masks and he said that’s different?!? I actually emailed the customer service section from the website and have yet to get a response. We took our lunch down the street to Texas Roadhouse and had a great birthday lunch, thank Famous Dave’s for not wanting our business.
We have been going to Famous Daves for years and have always enjoyed it. Yesterdays experience was not good in Flint where we usually go. First, we were told since corporate took over they no longer do the $10 off dinners for 2 and 4 on Tuesdays. Strike one! Next, we ordered and normally the food is at your table hot in about 10 minutes. After 35 minutes and no food I asked a waitress to find our waitress. She came to the table a few minutes later and asked what was wrong. I told her we had been waiting over 30 minutes. Her response was that they had a lot of to go orders and two large parties in the back and it should be coming right out. We have been there when it was packed and the food still came out in 10 minutes. 10 minutes later our food arrived. Strike two! Then there was only one corn and we had to ask for the second one and the food was lukewarm at best after a 45 minute wait. Strike three! I dont know what since corporate took over means but its not good. Did a franchisee lose the franchise to corporate? Are they privately owned and the owner sold it back to the corporation?Whatever it means, this was a bad experience and it may be quite a while if at all, that we go back. It is a shame when a great restaurant forgets what put them on the map.
Pretty pretty....pretty good. I came here for a birthday and my boyfriend thinks its solid. I thought the portions were sort of small for barbecue but it turned out to be perfect for lunch time. Price was good, service was good. A little slow but I think it was because of our big party. The barbecue I think is on par with Slows but less of a hassle since its a more efficient chain experience.
I was there for lunch. The service was great, I ordered the lunch size salad with chicken. It was basically the size of a salad you would get anywhere else with your meal, but it had a few pieces of fried chicken on it. It was a salad, nothing special, bit the cost of $7.99 would make you think it was a little more, like maybe with a slice of egg and some cheese, something. But nope, nothing but lettuce, two or three slices of cucumber and a few pieces of the chicken. I was very disappointed. I was disappointed the time I went before, but thought Id try again.
I order two slabs of ribs yesterday. First of all , I have gotten ribs here before and they were delicious. Yesterday, my family and I was truly disappointed. Our ribs were burnt and they tasted burnt with no seasoning on them.. If I ever come back, I hope the ribs will be better.. Have a nice day..
My latest experience with Famous Daves was Memorial Day Weekend. They had a special on a Holiday Feast that included a whole chicken, brisket, pulled pork, two sides and corn muffins. I picked it up and got home when I discovered I did not have a whole chicken. There was only one leg so I assumed it was close to a half chicken. I figured they were busy and everyone can make a mistake. I called the manager and she assured me they would take care of it next time I came in. I would received a half chicken and 6 corn muffins to make up for their mistake. I picked up the free half chicken and 6 corn muffins today. I got home and opened the chicken box to find two small pieces of chicken One had white meat so it was a breast? The other was dark meat with a leg attached so it was a thigh and leg. However, this was the smallest half chicken I have ever seen in my life. The breast from KFC is larger than the two small pieces of chicken I received. I realize everyone makes mistakes but when you tell me you will take care of it then I expect it to be taken care of. If this was a half chicken then they are slaughtering small chickens before they reach full growth. I am done with Imfamous Daves.
Always a fun time here. The staff is incredible, lots of options on the menu even for vegetarians. My family loves coming here for their birthday and the staff is always happy to share their special day with them. They are super kid friendly, and the drinks are out of this world. I adore the staff here.
Over the years service has declined dramatically. Covid aside, the menu options have shrank, the food quality is reduced, and service has gone gone down we well. We ate at the restaurant yesterday and the meat in both our meals (brisket & chicken) were both cold. Unfortunately its time to stop patronizing the restaurant and eat somewhere different.
Money everytime Ive been there. Its probably been 9 years or more and its been great. To go and dine is all great. The DIFFERENCE is the variety of sauce and smoke on the meat. Chain restaurants for me are usually oven ready, if you know what I mean. But, Famous Daves has it figured out....
Didnt get that warm friendly feeling the last few visits. Is almost like the staff is getting tired of working there, or the new staff is not getting that great customer service training anymore. Didnt have a problem with my food, it was ok. It was again, mostly the atmosphere felt off. The staff not so friendly or cheerful as were use to seeing there. I even had another table mention the same thing on our last visit. I gave it a few tries to see if maybe there was just a few off days, nope. Havent been back since and that was our families favorite restaurant.
Customer service is good. The wait time sucks. Definitely need to be faster. Each time I’ve ordered online I’ve waited over an hour to even get my food. The food could definitely be better. The greens aren’t cooked long enough and the meat on the rib tips barely exists. It’s mostly fat and gristle with bbq sauce on it. Some ppl like that I guess.
It wasnt a great outing at Famous Daves today. My friend and I really appreciate good bbq and ordered the brisket. It lacked a smoke ring and any smoky flavor. Ive had it here before, and there is usually a dry seasoning added before serving which was missing today. The brisket also had too much tug, meaning it was too hard to cut and too chewy. I also had the fried catfish fingers. They were good. Not served with hot sauce, so I asked for some. Then I had the audacity to ask for butter for the cornbread. She eventually brought it when she was good and ready. Lunch took 90 minutes.
So we had a to go order, drove a way to get there excited for dinner and it was wrong , food missing altogether and our appetizer was wrong. When I complained they were rude and unhelpful!! I was very surprised as I have used them for catering for work at Christmas for years ( so do our other stores) and they have always been wonderful!! The mgr was irritated and short with me.... I was the one spending over 80$ and a tip I just dont understand! Disappointed have not been back
Service was very slow and there were very few people in the dining room.Rib tips were tough and flavorless. Probably due to being re-heated several days.Iriss Comeback Chicken sandwich is no threat to Chick-fil-a or Popeyes, heck or even McDonalds. Very small piece of chicken with zero to no comeback sauce.Drinks were not refilled the whole time.I have been to this location several times and usually get good food and service. This time we got neither. I understand things are tough with the pandemic but average service should be the minimum expectation.
A little disappointing. We found out after we received our food this restaurant is no longer a franchise, but bought by corporate. There are quite a few changes to the menu.We went for Friday all you can eat Catfish Fingers $14.99, but were sad to find out you only get the fish and fries (no choice of side and no corn muffin) forget that!My husband ordered a two meat dinner (as he usually does) Catfish Fingers and Boneless Wings. I wish I had taken a photo of what he was served. Instead of wings the chicken is hand cut and weighed (per the manager). Some of these wings were mere slivers of meat. Certainly not what we were accustomed to for Famous Daves portions.$89.00 plus tip for family of four. My meal was good but certainly not that good.
Have not eaten here in 15yrs and Wow! The food was amazing and the service was top notch! Brittany was our server and she not only was super nice she answered every question quickly and accurately! Her recommendations were spot on and she made the overall experience of our visit wonderful! Well definitely be back!!
Ive been away for 3 years yet those wilber beans were memorable but the day I purchased a huge meal. The meat was bouncy, (chicken), ribs werent the quality I remembered, & the spoonful of pulled pork for a 40.00 meal was below my expectations. They did although try to make up for my unsatisfied query yet even the reserving was appreciated but still not up to the standard it used to have.
This is the pettiest restaurant Ive ever been too. The waitress immediately says that your saled that has always comes with cheese, egg and bacon no longer come with it. The saled only has lettuce, cucumbers and croutons but you can add egg, cheese and bacon for an upcharge. (What???) This makes no sense.
I ordered 4 dinners. 2 rib tips. 1 w/mashed potatoes and beans. One with corn and greensone burnt ends only nothing moreand one ribs with bone fries and beansI received ribs that were hard could not even take one bite. The ribs with bone in was the only ribs that were tender. No beans only friesMissing: 2 beans2 ribs dinner1 greensAnd corn was terrible. Tossed it with our dinners. That was $46.00 for one dinner. This was to be a birthday dinner for a friend. I was so embarrested. Me or her could not eat one bite. NEVER AGAIN. . .Will you do this to me again!!!!!!!!!!
Food here is usually awesome. Sometimes the ribs are tougher but cant totally blame FDs. I think it has to do with their supplier because they are almost always premo.I enjoy the different flavored bbq sauces, especially their Devils Spit. Yes, its nice and hot.The cornbread rolls are excellent. Service is usually stellar, especially in the bar area and the drinks are excellent.
Place was clean service was great. Very helpful for my Sister in a wheelchair. Handicap parking and entrance. The food was delicious. They also have discounts on certain platters on Tuesdays. Ribs, pulled pork, brisket, BBQ chicken, Baked beans, Cole slaw, potato salad, green beans, corn on the cob. Corn muffins ..... All had good flavor, seasoned well, and was hot when it arrived at the table. I love this place. ;)
I would have given 0 stars today if we could have. We purchased the Mothers Day Feast plus added ribs and pulled pork. We had a pick up time at 1PM. We talked to people 3 times about our order. We finally got our order at 2:05. When we got home, the buffalo wings were missing. I tried to call at least 20 times. No one answered for the place an order selection or speak to a q specialist number.
The waitress was friendly enough but she gave us terrible service! She took our order, a guy dropped it off quickly, we didnt have any silverware, my blackberry tea took 20 minutes never got a refill. She was racing away from the booth next to our table so I hollered to catch her for silverware. We served the food with our fingers but the baked beans and collard greens uh no. We were there longer than usual and my 6 year old granddaughter was getting antsy, she darted through the restaurant when we left the ladies room. I could just see her running into a server with a tray of food or drinks. I was looking forward to the yummy salmon dip and it was no longer available? Not my most enjoyable meal, the brisket and ribs were the highlight! Miller Rd Flint, MiWe wont be going back! The point was not slow iced tea, WE USED OUR HANDS TO FILL OUR PLATES.
Ordered day before and paid!!!! Got there at the appointed time and had to wait 40 mins for our take out. Picked up other food before this stop and the other food was cold and ruined. Will never order from them again. The ribs were dry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!®®®°°°©°°¥¢*5_-:___56%®✓{^^=×¥-_@@*%
I ordered the brisket and side of potatoes and corn on cob. The Mountain Dew glass over filled with ice and the red straws to are to large for the glass. The food was cold except the muffin and corn. The brisket taste was horrible, cold, taste like fatty tough jerky, and the butter was frozen in the little container, no silver ware until after two different waitresses brought out the food. Service was slow. Girl cleaning the table with a towel and talking on a cell phone sitting in the booth. I will never eat at the establishment in the future. No taste in the food. Rather ate a frozen dinner and cooked it in the microwave.
The service took quite a while, but it was during rush so we understood. I got the burnt ends, but they were really fatty. They also forgot my cornbread and my husbands bacon. Lastly, the floor was incredibly sticky. Overall, still ok, but Ill get takeout from here from now on.
Me n my family came here for my dads birthday. I asked the hostess could they say happy birthday or bring a dessert to him. She said they dont do that here. I said oh OK. We ordred. They have great long islands n the food was really good. My brother in law told our waitress it was my dads birthday. She brought a ice cream. Me n my daughter looked at each other. I said we were told you dont do that. I dont remember what her response was but he got ice cream 😊
Food was delicious and we had a good time. But they werent really able to sit our large group. And our food didnt come at the same time. There was about ten minutes between the adults food and our kids food. Next time we will make sure our kids get there food first. And it took 37 minutes for the food to start coming to our table.
My husband wanted ribs for his Fathers Day dinner I call continuously for 30 minutes couldnt get anyone to answer the phone went there to order in person placed my order. Ordered a Chicken breast for myself. Went back home because they were very busy was told its will be 2hrs . Return to get my order and got it home the chicken breast wasnt in the box they had a drumstick😧. I called them for 20 minutes straight and finally got someone and she said you have to dial the same number and push 4. No one answered I called 10 times.😡
Not like they used to be, ribs were tough, side dishes were mediocre at best. For what they charge, would have been better off going to Kroger and buying precooked ribs and eating at home. This seems to be typical of all these chain restaurants, at first they are great, than once they are popular, they dont give a $h#t. Just collect the profits and screw the consumer. Quality of product and care in preparation go out the window. Ala, Applebees, Chilis, TGIF and so many others. Than the wonder why they go bankrupt and out of business, youd think they would have figured that out by now?? The only thing that was redeemable was the service, I feel sorry for the wait staff, they do a fine job, but all the rest is out of their control. This is just another restaurant, in a long line of them, that I will not be patronizing again.
Went there last night with my wife for the first time in over a year because last time we went they didn’t have any baby back ribs, so how does a rib place not have ribs?So last night we went they over book an area and we had people standing around us while we were eating then when our food came and I picked up the rib they were burnt on on the outside and raw in the inside.. Also aren’t ribs suppose to fall off the bones? Not there as I couldn’t get the meat off!!! The mixed drinks were horrible as well. Thanks for the poor food as we will NEVER be back!!
Not the best BBQ Ive had but it is better than most. Love the devils spit sauce. And rib tips are alright most of the time. Sometimes they are a little too well done and come out like extra tough boot leather. Drinks are mixed well and tasted good. But then again sometimes you have to wait a bit to long for drinks. And the drink will show up either just before your food or with your food and it could be after the appetizers with the wait at times.
I feel bad for leaving a bad rating. But overall the food was not good, brisket tasted like a steroid infested pig, and the dishes were very very worn. Plastic plates at a resteraunt?! Everything seemed very cheap, but the prices arent cheap. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food around us though. Me and my husband were so confused by this.
Good food and good service2/7/2021Three years ago I posted that This restaurant was good. Today I ordered the Sweet Water Catfish appetizer and for 6 super skinny fish sticks $ 8.99 😠. They did a better job before the Pandemic. We cant change everything on covid-29, somethings address just are just careless people and business trying to get over.I tried paying the pictures but Google wont let me!
I placed an order at noon to pick up at 2:45. I am STILL waiting for my food and it’s been over an hour. Instead of calling me to let me know they are so behind I’m missing time spent with my family in the parking lot where the communication is beyond limited and not at all empathetic. Rude and disorganized.
The absolute BEST barbecue of any national/regional chain! I have loved this place since I first ate at the original location near Hayward WI. It love the beef brisket, the corn biscuits and soooo much more! They have a great To-Go menu as well. I like to order to-go just so I can sit there and take in the smells while I wait. Im not sure why the Lansing, MI location closed as it always seemed busy and the food was great but Im glad I can still get my fix in Flint, MI.
The wait was a little long (45min when they told us 30min or less), tho we did have a party of 9. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection. The service was slow and took a while to get something simple we asked for. The floor was trashed with used paper towel from people that had long been gone. Tho the staff was friendly.
Great food, great service. This location is by far the best restaurant on Miller Rd for service. No matter how busy they are, we are always in and out in a reasonable amount of time. We also have catered our wedding from this Famous Daves, and that also was a great experience. Highly recommend!
Just wanted to let everyone know how Famous Dave gift certificate promotion for Christmas was a big scam. They advertised buy a $100 gift certificate and get a $40 bonus E card with the purchase. Sounded like a great deal so i bought 4 of them for my family. I then received 32 $5 ecard to my email. After i received them i was going to give $40 to the 4 people i bought the GC for. Then i read the fine print on them, you can only use one per order and only one per table. And, they expire on 2/28/2020. So they really think anybody would eat there 32 times in 3 months. Quite the ripoff! I contacted them to see if i could use more than one when we eat there and they said no! Ive ate at Daves for many years but looks like they dont want my business anymore.
I made my first and last purchase from here yesterday. The waitress got my order wrong. Asked for sampler platter - got chicken wing platter. This was a take out order. The food was all scrambled together in very unappetizing display. Who wants to eat raw vegetables covered in grease? Very disappointed.
A BBQ restaurant. Decent food. Usually good service. Atmosphere is a little schticky but somewhat humorous. We ordered the onion straw appetizer--excellent! I really like the BBQ chicken which I am usually not crazy about. My friend ordered the ribs and thought they were pretty good but we are still looking for the old PX ribs! My other friend ordered the salmon which she said was rather bland. The side dishes ranged from grilled pineapple steaks to broccoli to cole slaw to traditional fries and more.Desserts:. Let me just say they are meant for sharing. I have had the banana pudding which was very good and I ordered the hot fudge sundae which was enough for 3 or 4 people. Its definitely a go back place--the way I judge a decent restaurant from a not so decent restaurant.
We come out to Famous Daves all the time Flint location. We order over a 100$ dollars worth tips four days and two big slabs. On this day we noticed that the tips were way off and the fries. We spoke to the manager Tim and explained that we noticed that everything was not what it should be. He stated that to call him if we get home and still feel the same way. Well called Tim expressed our concerns and he was very dry towards us and said are you just calling to tell me or do you want something. After years of coming to FD we couldnt believe that this is how they treat loyal customer. I hate to be a b**** but really want to call corporate still just dont want to get anyone in trouble. When your Management you should have a better attitude towards customers and make us want to come back. Not sure if he thinks we need some food or if thats just him either way be more open and understanding friendlier to paying customers that never complain. Would have given it a lower score but waiter was nice and smiling.
I have been sitting for 41 minutes and havent received my food yet. We had a 35 minute wait at the door. When i look around there is 3 open tables that i can see but nobody is sitting the people at the door in those tables. Our silverware didnt even come to our table until 25 minutes after we sat down. The waitstaff seems almost none existant.
Ordered a pulled pork slider bar and mac and cheese for a party of 45. It was awesome! Definitely worth the wait in that little tiny take out area. I would recommend making that a bigger space. Also, I was in the Flint location on July 4th and the people working the take out and catering orders did such an amazing job. They were kind and efficient, and they were non-stop with customers. It was crazy in there and no one lost their cool. I will order again!
Slowest service I have ever experienced. Started off with a crabby hostess complaing about the staff. Manager was condescending & rude. Waited over an hour for our luke warm food and was brought the wrong meal (which they did take off our bill). Thankful we are out of town and this isnt the regular FDs we go to. Will never go back to this location. Very disappointed.
Great BBQ as always and the cedar planked salmon is a hit with me as usual! We are from Alabama but now live in Michigan. The Miller Road, Flint, MI location of Famous Daves has consistently served A+ meals for 5 years in a row weve lived here. Im so happy theyve added the sweet potato souffle as a side dish. And the Bread Pudding is better now than ever with, it seems like, a larger serving and more caramel sauce! We will be back as usual...so thanks Famous Daves!
The Famous Dave’s in Saginaw is much better quality. I paid 4$ for a side of Brussel Sprouts. There was 4-5 brussel sprouts. When I called to express my disappointment, the manager said... “inside it’s 2.99, I don’t know what Door Dash charges”. Even inside that would be 60 cents a sprout. Lesson learned. I will order from Bad Brad’s. At least the food will taste good and my 60$ will feed more than 2 people.
I would give this place no stars if i could! The food was not eatible...was not cooked properly at all. They claim that all their mac n cheese comes with jalapenos and that they do not make it any other way, which I can assure you is a lie! When I called and asked for a refund the owner himself said he could not give me one, instead he can replace my order FREE of charge! I dont want more food...Why would I want more food when the first order I got, I wouldnt even feed to my dog! Poor business practice om their end! Would not reccomend this place at all!
We came in for lunch and someone came and seated us but then we sat there and it had been awhile and I was really thirsty so I remarked about it and we waited some more so finally we tried to get a waitresses attention and she completely ignored us so we walked. I went up to a waitress and let her know the situation and she said sorry and she brought it to a waiter’s attention and he said sorry but no one offered to make this right nor asked us to stay with any offer to make things right. Very disappointed, we found another barbecue place and went there.
A order for 2 took over 40 minutes to receive our food. My husband was on his 2cd drink. Another couple that came in 5 minutes after we did & they gotten their food 10 minutes before us.. I ask the bartender 3 times to see what the hold up is & he said they are working on it. Because the have to finish a cater order first. When the meal arrived the manager came by & ask hows the food. I am thinking oh now you come by. We told him & he offer us a free desert. That was a waste of $70..
Ive driven by for years but never visited Famous Daves, just assuming it was the fast food of BBQ and wouldnt be any good (having been spoiled by Slows BBQ of Detroit). I was very pleased with my experience when I visited on my boyfriends birthday for lunch. The lunch prices were awesome, and the brisket was great. I loved the sauce selections on the table. For sides, I had the firecracker green beans and he had the mac and cheese. We started with the brisket nachos, which we highly recommend - they were SO GOOD! The cornbread muffins were to die for, too. Well definitely be back.
Went here for moms birthday dinner with 17 if us. They stuck us in the middle of the back and was way too cramped. We ended up separating the younger ones to a different table. Food came out very quick and unknown to us our daughters and niece ordered the chicken strips which we found out later was cooked in the same oil as the fish. They were not sure how to bring it up to the manager and ended up not eating it. After finding this out we notified the manager (Dave Otool) who was very rude and right away was asking where the food was because We dont give away food for free.... Our niece had boxed it up but the waitress had already cleared the food away from the table as the manager went on to say No ones ever complained about it before and All restaurants cook their chicken with their fish.... If McDonalds doesnt do it why would anyone else. Further went on to tell us we should have asked if it was cooked with fish. Even after taking the chicken out of the box he only reimbursed us for one and when we mentioned the other two he asked where the chicken for those meals were.... They had cleared the table ans took them. He went as far to call the waitresses out and ask them if they took the chicken when they cleared the table, as if Im trying to steal food that no one wanted. Rude beyond measure. There is officially 17 people that will never eat there again.
Honestly, my favorite chain BBQ in the country. I have always had pretty good service here but what stands out is the amount of good BBQ for the money. Two people can easily split their big meals. Their sauce is good too. If you like BBQ, then its worth checking out.
Theres been an unsavory decline in ambiance and flavor since the changeover from franchise to corporate management. Greens are bland, disappointing, i usually look forward to those. Corn muffins are different... why mess with perfection? And the music has taken a complete nosedive. Listening to really awful 60s music has me reminiscing of my last trip to the pharmacy. What happened to the cool bluegrass tunes? Might want to rethink that. Seriously, i feel sorry for the employees that are subjected to this audio cruelty on an ongoing basis. AND they no longer serve local cheesecake from the mom and pop shop in Swartz Creek called Worlds Greatest Cheesecake. It really is. Wont be ordering ho-hum dessert from wherever theyre getting the supply now. Sad.Hope corporate is reading this. I used to love this place.

2022-06-21The BBQ was ok. Kinda hard. Thebfush was very good. I bought 3 helpings of banana pudding because I had some before in KY and loved it and wanted to share with my family.I was very very dissapointed in the banana pudding. For the most part there were no vanilla wafers inside, just a couple on top. It was mainly all whipped cream with a bunch of rotten brown bananas inside.

2022-06-22Very friendly staff. Great food. Since our food came out a little late the waitress gave us a small bonus of extra food. Highly recommend this place to others. Also a big thanks to our great waitress!👌

2021-07-11Absolutely phenomenal BBQ! The sauces are all so good. From the Devils Spit to the Rich and Sassy you will find a sauce you love. Cornbread is perfect and side note you can buy it in most stores. I got the Smoking Long Ice Tea , so awesome to watch the smoke! We had Ribs and Brisket. This place never disappoints! Currently they are short on staff so if you are impatient and can’t enjoy a drink while you wait maybe wait until that changes. Their staff is hardworking and made the meal a great time. Price$$$ *specialty drinks were all $8.50. (Worth it)

2022-04-07Came on 4/4 for lunch, first time ever at a Famous Daves. I have to say Service was amazing, our server was so sweet and attentive and dealt with my pregnancy accomodations well! Food was priced well and tasted so good :) Too bad I already ordered my food venue for my gender reveal or else Id say this place all the way. Ill definitely go back in the future and consider them for catering as well.

2022-03-26Good food and 4 different bbq sauces, 3 of which are on your table to use as you want. I think you have to request the 4th due to its heat. I had beef brisket, corn, loaded bake potato, and a warm corn muffin 😋. My son tried The Devils Lick (hottest one at the table). Said it wasnt too bad to handle...until a few minutes later. Yes, it cooled down a bit later but kind of stuck around making its presence know a few hours later. My potato was huge and the meat servings were smaller than I would have liked but very moist and tasty.

2022-05-08Service for pickup sucks. Waited 2 hours for them to not be organized and give our food away. Told me twice that itll be brought out when its ready. Arrived at 315 pm to pickup an order that was ordered at 2pm. IT IS NOW 404 PM! LOUSY service! I will be contacting corporate. This is definitely not the first time. Always spending over 200$ for a meal to get orders completely wrong! Missing items. Peoples pick up orders randomly sitting around.ars that pulled up after we had was in and out. Well, someone got a 200$ order for 60$. Yep! Nope. Go ahead and cancel that order.

2021-07-12Decent staff, food wasn’t fresh tasting not hot just warm maybe, very disappointing considering I came all the way from Dallas to have one of my hometown favorites.

2022-02-26The restaurant was less than half full and it took about 30 min to get to the table (all American feast). The collard greens were bland, the rest of the food was barely warm, and if you wanted any sauce besides the base rich and sassy you have to buy a bottle of it just to have it there. This was a regular place for me and my family to go, but no longer.

2022-04-30I’m a Famous Dave fan, and have been to multiple locations, however I was disappointed with my visit here. We had the feast for two, the corn bread, Mac and cheese, and fries were good. The brisket was probably the worst I have had in a long time. It was very tough and chewy. The ribs were tougher than typical. It appears they are not slow cooking these items and it shows…..
