After almost 14 years of community 30+ miles to work, I finally hit a deer. My insurance company told me that Fernelius Ford was the preferred body shop, so I called and got in first thing the next day. It was a couple of weeks before I could get in, but they assured me my car was drivable and to not worry. When the day arrived, they had a loaner for me to use while the work was being done and sent me on my way. Everyone was super friendly and I appreciated how they answered my questions no matter how silly Im sure they were.
While on vacation we were nearly stranded with brake issues. The service team at Fernelius took care of us even though we were from out of state and didnt have an appointment. We could have been held hostage, but instead were treated exceptional well. Special thanks to Robbie our service rep and Matt the master mechanic.
Michael Ashbaugh Cutler went above and beyond to make sure I purchased the exact right car for me. Michael was very professional and easy to talk too. I really wasn’t what I wanted but he was patient and listened to my ramblings He even brought the car to my work so could test drive it. Michael got it exactly right, the perfect car for me. He worked my bank and my insurance agent so I was able to pick up my car the next day without any delays.I highly recommend Michael to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle.
All five of these stars are for Sierra Oliver! The amazing service that she provides is top notch! She makes sure to get the job done and provide the best customer service. I have had some issues with a truck that I have purchased I have had this truck for just 2 months now. It has been in the shop three times already for the same issue! If it were not for Sierra Oliver I dont believe that this situation would have been so smooth! In a time like this somebody that works that hard definitely deserves recognition as well as a raise. People like that are hard to find, and if it werent for her I wouldnt have anything nice to say about fernelius!
Sierra was a great salesperson, I drove 700 miles to trade a vehicle for a 2016 Shelby GT 350 that was in mint condition, when I arrived there was a smooth transition, in and out in about an hour. The whole staff was very friendly. I would recommend Fernelius Ford to anyone interested in a vehicle. Very happy with my purchase exactly the condition they said it was mint. I needed a battery and none was available in my area. Battery I had was under warranty with about half of its life left. I drove an hour to Sheboygan. They indicated they would need to test the battery for four hours. I asked if they would let me purchase a new battery and credit me the warranty amount, if the battery turned out to be bad as I suspected. I didn’t expect them to agree but they did and in fact called me back the next day and credited my account with the warranty amount. Rarely do you see businesses go out of their way to help a customer. I know it involves extra paperwork and I appreciate the effort. Thanks to Matt in parts for helping me out into the service department for processing the warranty.
I cant say enough great things about Fernelius Ford in Cheboygan. They were extremely responsive and professional in repairing my 2016 Ford Explorer that had a sudden blinking Check Engine light issue. After having the car towed there from Alanson MI late in the evening they identified the issue and had the car ready for pickup in just a few hours the next day. Thankfully the part needed, that was eaten by a mouse, was quickly available. A special thanks to Robbie for his professionalism and support in handling my issue. He kept me informed of the status and it was a pleasure working with him. This just goes to show how the service department has customer service as a high priority with great Management. As a note I went to Fernelius Ford after MANY attempts to reach Petoskey Ford with no luck at all. They finally called me back 2 days after my first of 3 voice messages. By that time Fernelius Ford had already fixed my issue. I am from California and vacation in Michigan each summer and now have a great and trusted dealership that I can count on in the event of any issues with my Explorer. Robbie and Nate were very informative about what was happening with my vehicle. They are both friendly and fun to work with. The mechanic, while I did not get to meet him did a fantastic job on my vehicle. I believe his name is John Grenier. My vehicle drives like a new car! I’m very happy with the service I received. Also I can’t forget the “face of the operation” Karen at the front desk, always beautiful, happy and laughing .
Working with Jordan Vizina has been a positive refreshing experience. Jordan went out of his way to make our purchase quick, simple, and fair. Honestly, so impressed with Fernelius Ford. We dealt with Brad and he was so helpful! He was very friendly and helped us purchase a vehicle easily. He even stayed after hours to work with us. We purchased the vehicle Wednesday evening and it was delivered to us early in the day on Thursday (we live two hours away). We will definitely be recommending this dealership to others!

This is our second car from Fernelious. Scott and everyone there was wonderful to work with! Super friendly and and low pressure showroom. The service dept was very friendly, knowledgable and great communication while they swapped out my snow tires while I was car shopping. Will return and highly recommend!
Outstanding sales and service! Nate and the service department have been outstanding! I’ve unfortunately had a few issues with my truck, but the upside is every time I schedule an appointment. The crew gets me in and takes care of any problem right away! Easy to talk with and on top of keeping me in the loop! One of the best local Ford dealers in my opinion!
Fernelius Ford has a great staff, very friendly and helpful. They were able to service my automobile and answer my questions in a reasonable amount of time. Their facilities were clean and well maintained, very comfortable. Their costs were in line with other businesses that provide the same service but with less amenities.
Car salesperson Sierra, was very prompt, took us for a test drive and answered questions, to the best of her ability. Sierra asked for specifics, in the vehicle we were looking for and She followed up, in less than an hour, with more vehicles, for us to look at!!! She was very pleasant and wore her mask, on our test drive, very courteous.We will, more than likely, go back to look for more jeeps and definitely, give Sierra a call.
I desperately needed a solid winter vehicle and was searching for a Honda CRV. Saw one on car gurus in my price range on Saturday. Requested info and was immediately contacted that I would get a call. First thing Monday morning Jordan contacted me with details. I explained how anxious I was and not sure how to get this done. Jordan jumped in with answers, help and understanding. Then worked his magic and voila! I am now a proud owner of the CRV!! They even delivered it to my house!! Traveling north on US 27 Kurt hit a deer at full speed. Fortunately it didnt hit the windshield but instead after hitting the bumper was thrown to the passenger side front & rear doors. Damage to the front end bumper and doors was extensive. Fernelius Ford Collision & Parts Departments of Cheboygan worked together to get our vehicle back on the road in minimal time and in perfect condition. They were courteous & professional in every aspect of the job from the initial estimate to final delivery. We would highly recommend them to others.
Outstanding service during a car crisis. While on our way to the upper peninsula, our brand new Ford Edge experienced a total computer network failure right outside of Cheboygan. We limped our way to Fernelius Ford. While the problem was a major one which will take several weeks to fix, the service team understood our dilemma and made sure that our car was safe enough to turn around and drive home. They prepared paperwork to give to our home area service team. Fernelius service team was kind, helpful, understood the timeliness of our situation. Outstanding team.
I must say thanks! A pure pleasure doing business with Fernelius Ford. Thanks Joe Kryska for a quick, effortless (on my part) and painless purchase. Joe and Mary both stayed late to complete my purchase. First class customer service with zero pressure and no haggling. Using my smartphone to get my insurance policy honestly took longer than agreeing on price, having financing approved and Mary doing her magic. I WILL be a return customer!

Just bought our 6th vehicle at Fernelius. The sales staff are courteous, helpful, understanding and friendly. There is another dealership close to my home, but Id rather go to Fernelius. Thanks for all the help getting my new car last week guys. Special kudos to Terry and Joe!!!
Fernelius Ford Lincoln in Cheboygan is bad. I found a vehicle that I was interested in purchasing. When we arrived the truck was in the service area up on a hoist and the mechanic was doing the initial inspection to their newly acquired trade-in. Chuck told us he was fixing the side mirrors and that he had ordered replacement sensors for the rear park assist. During the test drive, I noticed that there was a problem with the steering. The wheel was out of alignment and I felt a “clunk” on the floor board. We agreed to purchase the truck as long as they were going to complete the work already in progress and complete a front end alignment to fix the steering and fix the clunk. They put the terms in writing. We signed the paperwork and planned to return in one week. This week allowed us time to bring the cash money down required and gave them an entire week to complete the repairs on the truck. When we returned a week later, the truck was parked out front waiting for us. We saw that the mirrors were fixed but to our disappointment there was still an empty hole where the rear park assist sensor was supposed to be. When we questioned Mark about it he said, “We had to put a lot of money into your truck. It turns out that we had to replace the steering box. That cost us $2400. So we couldnt spend any more money on it.” Mark said, “Take it for a drive!” My wife and I went for another test drive. The clunk was gone but the steering wheel was still off center! When we returned I informed Mark of this and asked if they did a front end alignment. The mechanic was at lunch but he was sure it was done. He asked me to take him for a ride and to go down the smooth road because it was “probably just the bumps in the road” making me think the wheel isnt straight. Even after I took him and tried to show him he disagreed that anything was off even though it was plain to see from my vantage point that the steering wheel was off center when going straight down the road. I felt like he was calling me a liar. I did not believe that a front end alignment had been done even though they assured me it was and the entire time we were there the mechanic was “out to lunch.” We expressed disappointment that they failed to repair the back up sensors even though that would have fallen under the “work in progress” portion of what they agreed to do for us. The financial guy Warren said, “We fixed all the safety issues and spent more than we expected on the steering box. If we fix EVERYTHING, then we would ask $40,000.00 for it. You got a great deal. We dropped the price to help you get your financing. If you dont want the truck, thats fine. We will cancel the deal and put it back on the lot.” So now they resorted to a “take it or leave it” tone. I felt like because we had already signed the sales contract the week prior they did not care about customer service. They didnt care if we were offended or not. After I got my truck home I had it inspected. I found out that they replaced the steering COLUMN, not the entire steering box. The steering box was covered in the same dust that the rest of the undercarriage was coated in. It had obviously not been replaced. My research reveals that a replacement column costs approximately $150, not $2400. They said that they did an oil change but they did not grease anything. All the u-joints were bone dry. Now I have to pay another dealership $80 to get it aligned. I have to spend $40 to buy a back up sensor and a bezel. And the moral of the story is what else that I DONT know about have they neglected? They made my wife and I sign a “as is” document before they would hand over the keys. So to sum it all up, I am very disappointed in my experience with Fernelius and I would not recommend them to anyone. I feel like I was treated poorly because they had already made the sale and didnt have to even try to please me, the customer. And they wanted to argue with me, I thought the motto was “the customer is always right.” Mark has a sign at his desk that says “ Are you 100% satisfied?” No, Mark. No,... not even close.
Last month,October, was traveling through Michigan and my F250 developed a code for bad secondary coil. I limped my way into Cheboygan . I searched the internet and found Fernelius Ford. They were closed as it was Sunday. I was sitting at there service door at 7:30 am Monday and ask if they could look at my truck. I explained all the details and the service guy, Lawrence, said not a problem we can help. They allowed me park my travel trailer in the far area of the lot and pulled my truck inside. About 15 minutes later they explained my issue was a coil connector pigtail. They did not have one, After some calls they found one and told me about 1 hour they would the truck ready. I spoke with the mechanic Mike and thanked them all for their quick and professional approach to my issue. They all were professional and very customer driven. Great job Guys. Truck is still running GREAT! Also, Cudos to the management for selecting and training a great service division. Again, my wife and I appreciated your assistance and your work allowed us to complete our 3000 mile trip.We returned to Branson, Missouri without another incident. Highly recommend this dealership.
Bought my 2017 super duty new from Fernelius Ford I was very happy with the sale. Really love the truck. After owning it for just a year I was in a fender bender, took it back to Fernelius Ford for repairs and was not to impressed with how my $43,000 truck was handled. Took three months to get it back . After taking it in two or three times for a vibration I was told it was because of the tires that I had on it even though it did not vibrate prior to the accident . Not satisfied with having to deal with the vibration I took it to another local dealership to have it checked and was told by there mechanic that all four of my rims are bent. They asked if I had been in an accident. Really would like to know how this was overlooked by Fernelius??? I like to keep business local, hope Fernelius makes this right.
I was having the worst possible day ever 800 miles from home breaking down and the workers at fernelius ford made everything better and i made it home with no issues and not to mention they squeezed me in and got me back on the road quickly thank you soo much!! You guys are life savers
I would like to personally take this time to thank Barry Vizina and Jordan Vizina for taking their time and introducing me to the Ford family. After driving my 13 year old Escalade for 220,000 miles, I never expected to find comfort in a F-150 crew cab pickup. Computer screen went out after leaving Walmart. I live in Florida. Found Fernelius Ford dealership. Two very nice gentlemen helped me right away. Went out to car, restarted, and screen activated normally. It was embarrassing. These two gentlemen said my computer was probably trying to connect to Walmart. We shook hands and I went on my way. I regret not getting there names. Great service. Thank you so much.
Refused to even look at my little Ford van style motor home, powered by the common 351 V8, saying heavy hoist not available. I explained any kind of hoist was not needed as the problem I was sure was in the carburetor, which it was. We were saved by Anytime Towing and Repair! By the way we were returning from a vacation in the Upper Peninsula and were still many miles from home and were towed in.

2022-07-11Had my truck towed here after a deer destroyed the front of it. They got it in and repaired before most other dealers would even commit to assess the damage! Excellent work, awesome communication, super friendly, and done right. Aaron and the crew in the body shop are pretty great by my book! Thanks again guys! Will certainly be back when it comes time to buy another vehicle to see how the sales staff measures up...

2022-06-26My wife bought a car here and less than a few months later we started having issues with the engine. Took it back to the dealership because we paid for the warranty and they told us it wasn’t bad enough for them to have to fix it. We went to two other mechanics that said it absolutely was. Ended up finding another mechanic that would fix it under the warranty. My advice if you’re looking for a dependable dealership is to look somewhere else.

2022-03-22Sierra worked extremely hard to get me the car I wanted, even with it being very hard to come by right now. Everyone at the dealership was great to work with and made the process super easy! I absolutely love my new Ford Bronco and Jacob and I are very glad we worked with the Fernelius Ford team!

2022-06-14I was on my way to Gaylord from the Soo for a meeting and as I was coming off the mackinaw bridge, I started hearing a periodic metal scraping sound. I pulled off at the next exit and discovered that a metal panel under my Ford Escape was hanging from only one side. I called my husband, he found the closest Ford dealer, called them about my problem and had him tell me to bring it right over. I got there and they got me right in. They told me if they couldn’t fix the problem and were able to remove it, I could have it taken care of once I got home. As it turns out, they were able to fix it and only charged me for a half hour of labor plus parts. I got to my meeting in plenty of time. They were great!

2022-06-30Treated like I dont matter and Im lying for the 3rd time when I bring my Jeep in for service!. Different problem each time. (Sales manager, Barry) (and service guys, Joe and John)This review is the 3/45 that got a 1 score from me ever!!! (10 years), which I hope means something to someone because honestly it is the truth!I purchased the Jeep at this dealership and the warranty they claimed was amazing (Toyota care), Sales manager (Barry) called me personally to make sure I bought it!!!! (After saying no)DONT DO IT! Only they can can fix at that dealership!!!!Ive had to have a Jeep shop tell fernelious whats wrong every time they send me away with the Jeep (3rd time) saying nothing is wrong from their shop.Once the Jeep shop actually found the part claimed on backorder for fernelious! at another dealership (browns).I Literally have 2 state certified mechanics at 2 different shops tell me I have issues currently, then to be told its not bad enough and to drive it til its swamped! By your mechanic. (And sales manager, Barry, in which he has NO Idea what hes talking about)Since then took to another ASC certified mechanic and he too agrees your wrong. Obviously I wont be returning for your services of any kind in the future.BTW Im mechanically inclined so the bs they give is annoying and a lie too dont trust them. Wish Id never bought the warranty or gave them my business!

2021-12-29I meant to write this a while ago. I bought a used, out of warranty truck from Fernelius. A week after I owned it, I had a few issues that my local dealer (Ohio) said needed addressed. I reached out to Fernelius and they reimbursed me for the expense. Very fair dealership. A quality that is tough to find now a days. Thank you. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a used vehicle from Fernelius!
