Comment: The mechanics don’t know how to repair a Fiat engine. I would give them a zero if possible. I had been told the check engine light suddenly appeared but don’t worry, we fixed it. Consequently, the car needs additional work associated with that.They also removed an additional part, without my permission, that was added years ago to enhance the performance of my car. It was working when I left my car in their care Service said we fixed the check engine light by removing this performance part. Are you kidding me?! BTW: The check engine light wasn’t even an issue or related to why I took the vehicle in to begin with.Upon Pick up: My car was dirty inside, my key fob was damaged, the rear hatch was scratched causing $800 worth of damage, (the car hatch had been newly painted), new dash warning lights appeared on my way home and the list goes on. Now my car needs a jump everytime I try to drive it.When I called _______ (the person’s name I dealt with has intentionally been left blank) he says just bring it back, we will fix it. I don’t trust this repair shop to take it back to them or their body shop to repair the paint damage. The service person was told it had just been painted when I dropped it off.I paid out thousands of dollars in repairs when I picked up my car and now it needs at least two or three thousand more for someone else to fix it. OMG! It’s ten years old, I just wanted a safe ride. I was told my car would be handled with kid gloves.It’s like they gave it to a gorilla 🦍

Comment: SERVICE DEPT: This place is doing so much better, from the waiting area which was completely remodeled and equipped, to the online scheduling, invoicing, parts, wireless paying, Uber or rented car availability if needed, etc. Most importantly, your car is serviced by experts. Try to work with Mr. Pedro Leal, he is your guy, tell him I sent you!Also, please note that most bad reviews here are from some time ago, even from when they were at a different location. I think management changed, or they internally decided to change, and even when I had complaints too from those days, since a couple of years ago they are functioning way better, and Id like to acknowledge and appreciate that. Give them a chance!

Comment: This is the worst customer service experience Ive ever had.I called few weeks ago, as I needed a new rim for my Fiat 500 as mine got damaged.I decided to special order from here as they told me it would only take 10 days. The other places I inquired about the rim gave a better price but longer wait, so I decided to order from FIAT dealership as I need it my car.After a few days I paid for the rim and no contact was made with me I decided to follow up and only then I was told the rim would arrive in 3-4 weeks instead of 10 days. Extremely upset I was told that the fee was not refundable and I was then stuck. I never received an apology or a compensation for the mistake.After more than 3 weeks of waiting and nobody following up or sending any tracking for my rim, I decided to send an email and they replied that my rim was arrived.I then schedule a pick up time specifying that I would need also labor in order to change the rim (how else would I do it).I arrived at the date and time they agreed on and I was told no appointment was made. I then showed the email where they agreed on the time and they sent me to the parts department (which is a couple of steps away). At the parts department nobody wears a mask, just so you know. I was handed my rim in the box and in a very rude way I was told by R. (the most unprofessional employee I met in my life) that he only deals with parts and not service, and it would take too much effort for him to coordinate with his same dealership (couple of steps away) to accomodate customer needs after made him wait more than double the time it was supposed to. I was then told that if I wanted to make an appointment it would take another 3 weeks.In all this story I never received an apology, and they could change the rim in less than 10 minutes.Ive never experience anything less customer service friendly than how I was treated by R.I WOULD ENCOURAGE EVERYBODY TO AVOID THIS PLACE AS THEY REALLY DONT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND THEY ARE VERY DISHONEST PEOPLE.

Comment: This is about the service deparment. We have a Fiat. Service Rep. Casey is amazing! He works with your situation, and has a lot of valuable knowledge about the product. Its expensive to get repairs here (its a dealership, thats just how it is), but everything about the experience reminds you that they are taking extra care with your automobile. It can be such a relief to hand your car to the professionals, and let them take care of it, (and extra covid precautions and an included car wash.) Thanks!

If you know and can understand this then youll appreciate this review!Sylvia my service provider associate was great! My car was having some noise that my mechanic couldnt figure out and then was suggested to take it to the dealership. Did I know it was going to cost more? YES but you get what you pay for is what I say!The part to replace was going to take a few weeks and seeing we are in this pandemic I asked if they could just keep the car and they said yes. They also offered a rental but seeing again that I was working from home, why have them give me a rental when someone else needed it!Sylvia kept texting me and keeping me updated and even more importantly a picture of what the issue was. At the end it was the sway bar that was causing an issue on my suspension and after now a couple of weeks, THE NOISE AND BANGING IS GONE!5 stars is not enough to give a score for Sylvias service and the mechanic who made magic happen ad fix our 2011 Fiat!THANK YOU SANTA MONICA FIAT for repairing the car and the service that was provided! Great job and great service! 5 STARS!!

Comment: Maserati hired our coffee catering for the launch of the dealership and again for the debut of the Maserati MC20. Energetic staff, good inventory. I believe this is currently the number 1 Maserati dealership in the region and they obviously appreciate high quality coffee so theyre great by us!

Casey and the team at Fiat of Santa Monica were very honest and fair throughout my whole experience there. I thought bringing my car to a dealership would bring high fees and upsells for repairs ; however, this was not the case. I recommend coming to this dealership for repairs.

Comment: I called the sales team couple of times about the special they are advertising on the website for Fiat 500e. It was advertised as zero down & $2500 down which we get through CA state rebate. Acquisition fees, Taxes and first month payment due. When I visited the dealership this morning, the sales team is openly saying that they advertise these fake deals just to get the customer down to the dealership. They are asking for an additional $3000 as drive off fees which no where mentioned in the advertise nor in the fine print anywhere. This is completely ridiculous and unethical business tactics. Dont fall for these false advertisement.

When I pointed this out, I waited an additional 15 minutes, when it should have been done before I arrived. After 15 min, it was still sitting in the same place untouched. It wasnt until I pointed this out to someone that it was finally washed, and I was told it may take 30 min.

Comment: Outrageously disorganized, most indifferent staff/customer service experienced ever, in any situation. I turned in my Fiat a month early after being urged to do so by a customer service rep. at Chrysler Capital, the leasing company. The benefits of doing so is the dispensation fee is waived as is any wear and tear under $250 and the dealership pays your last month on the lease. I called the dealership to confirm and was told, yes, bring your vehicle in any time! I made sure the vehicle I wanted to lease was available and drove over.The dealer I worked with, Frederick, neglected to tell me that the rebate program was not available after your second lease. Turns out he didnt know, neither did Alex, the general manager and neither did the finance Manager, Nick. I found this out later when I went online to apply for the rebate then called the dealership. Would I have leased another Fiat if Id known the rebate was not available? NO, I really wouldnt have. But, too late! How none of the people working at the dealership knew that one of the primary perks of leasing a Fiat 500e is only available twice in your lifetime is ridiculous. do they not go through training?I asked if I could purchase the vehicle so I could benefit from the tax credit. Alex said he would find out and get back to me but they would have to run my credit again, even though it had only been 24 hours and my credit score is 831. Did Alex ever get back to me? No, he did not. I guess a vehicle sale wasnt meaningful to him at that time.A month later and Chrysler Capital sends an invoice for: wear and tear of $250 and the final months lease payment. Many, many calls later my issue has been escalated to an executive at Chrysler Capital. She was kind enough to call the dealership, magically got Alex on the phone who acknowledged the final payment was due from his dealership and assured her/me that it would be overnighted to Chrysler Capital that night. Surprise, it wasnt.Its now been months and Im still getting calls from Chrysler Capital asking me to pay for the final lease payment because they dealership never paid them. They have let me know that its my responsibility to follow up with the dealership to make sure they make that payment. Can I get Alex on the phone? NOPE. Does he return calls? No he does not. Can I reach the finance manager? NO, I cannot and he doesnt return calls either.So, basically I paid for a new lease and will now pay for the last months lease on a car I no longer had possession of in an effort to protect my credit score.Thanks so, so much to Fiat of Santa Monica, Frederic, Alex and Nick for taking away hours of my life I can never get back, taking money from me that I can ill afford to toss away and for demonstrating THE WORST customer service Ive ever experienced, hands down. When this lease is up I will never consider another Fiat and I discourage anyone from purchasing or leasing from this dealership unless you have lots of extra time and money to burn when something goes wrong.

Comment: On the surface it seems like they know what they are doing, however, beware. This dealership and the people that work there are very incompetent. We recently leased our second vehicle and just like the first time, they made mistakes on the forms which resulted in the DMV having our incorrect address on the registration. The license plates never arrived so the DMV sent them to the dealership who then forwarded them to me without making the correction. Multiple phone calls and voicemails left and not one person has responded to help me correct. Now I have to go to the DMV and wait there for some ridiculous amount of time. I would suggest going to another dealership for your purchasing/leasing needs.

Multiple problems with a new Fiat 500e and Management avoiding contact or fix despite multiple attempts.Bought a Fiat 500e end Dec 2018 from Sales guy Mauricio (who then left the company).1. No User Manual. Just grabbed an old 2016 one for me at delivery. Chase many times until they ship back the original new one after two weeks.2. No flat tire inflator. Grab another one (not sure if used or new) at delivery upon asking only.3. No 2nd car key. Only tell me about it after all payment and paperwork at delivery. Still waiting for it now after 4 weeks.4. Front parking and turn lights are off. Fixed it at another dealership.5. Worst Problem: Parking Light Warning still ON after fixing the light. Fiat Ontario said the wiring has been tempered with (see pictures) and is not covered under warranty. Its a brand new car and of course I am not paying a dime to fix it. Chase Alex Schwartz Sales Manager of Fiat Santa Monica many times and to no avail. Left many messages and wont call back. Finally got hold of him and he said he has to check with Service and never call back again.Deal with this dealership at your own risk. You have been warned...

Comment: Buyer beware. I’m hoping this post is helpful to any Fiat owners out there. Came here to get a window fixed. There is a $185 diagnostic fee. Little did I know, that just gets you in the door. That fee is a base plus any other service they perform on your vehicle. Expect a high tab leaving. A quick fix for my window regulator and I was quoted nearly $900. I don’t have Maserati money so I declined and walked out having to pay over $200 just for an explanation of what was wrong with the door and window. Complete waste of time.

(Anya) was great (5 stars), Service Department hours & time estimates are abysmal (1 star for at lease providing a rental every time), so average is 3 stars.I had 3 to 4 recalls on my 2015 Fiat in the 1st year I owned it. My leasing experience was fantastic--if Anya is still around, ask for her. She is no pressure, straightforward, and she worked with us to get us to the numbers we wanted.However, the so-called Service Dept. was abysmal, and has been for me since Day 1.The 1st strike against the Service Department was when we went to pick up our new Fiat: our car was dead. The Service Dept. was in charge of prepping it for delivery. When we showed up, the car would not function at all. We turned the key, and the dash wouldnt even light up. It was the weekend, so nobody was around to figure it out. At least the Sales Dept. gave us the option to wait a few days for the Service Dept. to work it into their queue and figure out the problem with our car, or take an alternate vehicle that would power on.Since then, we have had to deal with the Service Dept. many times thanks to 3-4 recalls (it flat out stalled twice, once in the middle of an intersection).The 2nd strike against the Service Department involves their hours. The Service Department is unavailable to service vehicles at times that are convenient for the average working human being, and they wont work with you or Sales staff to make your life even the slightest bit easier:- Want to drop your car off early? Too bad. There are spaces on the lot, but the Service Department wont let you leave your car on the street or lot or leave your key with Sales staff- Want to pick up your car after 6 pm? Too bad, the Service Dept. wont arrange it with Sales- Want your car serviced weekends, when youre not working? Too bad, Service Dept. is closed- Want to get service while you are on vacation? Too bad, Service Dept. wont give you a firm completion date & time, or they will blow it, and wont keep your car past the day they finish service.- Is it a holiday? Service Dept. is closed, so no service for you.If they can do anything to make your life easier to make up for these drawbacks, they wont do it.The third strike is our Fiat service has involved problems the Service Department knew aobut but did not tell us about. Good service departments reach out to customers about known problems to avoid headaches later. Instead, SaMo Fiat Service waited for our car to die, then told us about the known issues after our car was towed in.The fourth strike is that the Service Dept. always takes longer to complete the service than they tell you it should and even takes longer than the extended time they build into their scheduling to give themselves wiggle room. A couple of the recalls for our car involved reprogramming a unit on our car. They told us it should take only a couple of hours. Every time, it has taken a day or more. So I have dropped the car off thinking I can have it later that day, then I end up going back and spending an hour at the Service Dept. negotiating a rental.This last point brings me to the only redeeming qualities: The Service Dept. comps a rental every time I go in, and they do eventually fix the many problems that creep up in a Fiat. Usually its because theyre taking a few days for service that they said would take only a few hours. But they would be truly and completely awful if they didnt do at least this much, so Ill give them a star for that.The final strike is that a better Service Dept. might recognize that being fully booked for days in advance during their bankers hours might mean that there is enough business to add some hours after 6 pm or on weekends.A friend of mine who worked at a Honda dealership said that the Sales Dept.s job was to sell a customer the first car, and the service department was responsible for selling every car after that.Fiat Santa Monicas Service Dept. successfully convinced me not to lease another Fiat, because it is so difficult to find a convenient time to get it serviced.

The process was easy and he worked with me on the price to get to a place we were both happy with.If youre in the market for a Fiat, Alfa or Maserati, I can recommend Mauricio and SM Fiat without hesitation.

Comment: I called around to several other Fiat dealers in the area about a specific car model, and after being met with several disintersted eh, we dont have that responses, I miraculously stumbled upon Fiat Santa Monica. From the very first phone call, Mauricio was more than happy to answer my questions and then elaborated on what they did have in stock and what else I might like instead. Due to his super friendly and professional attitude, I headed over that afternoon. I ended up getting exactly what I wanted, just in a slightly different color (which Mauricio had sugggested I would really like in person, and he was right). Mauricio cheerfully helped me through every step of the process and was the complete opposite of your typical car salesman. I was afraid that as a single woman, I might be spoken down to or patronized in some way, but that was not at all the experience here. Nick, one of the managers, was also extremely courteous and friendly. I would recommend Santa Monica Fiat and Mauricio in particular wholeheartedly if youre ever in the market for a Fiat, Maserati, or Alfa Romeo. 5 stars!!

I refinanced with another company, meaning I get a nice refund from the gap insurance and service warranty I did with this dealership.Over two months the original documents for cancelation of the warranty were submitted in person at the dealership(June,2018), then calling and calling to get any update after the appropriate time had passed. Im Constantly getting the Cold Shoulder from all the reps, even managers; I took it to myself to contact the companies that SMFIAT got their GAP insurance and Service Warranty through.Found out in mid August, the service warranty company JUST received the cancellation form and the GAP company had NO CLUE about any cancellation!!! Where then I had to fax over My copy of the cancellation form to the GAP company so that they can start the process and told me to call back in 10 days...11 days later, I call the GAP company and they tell me that the form has been submitted (YAY) and then now I need to call the Dealership to find out anything more...(-_-).......... Guess what I called the Santa Monica Fiat Dealership(Accounting Dept this time) and still couldnt get ahold of anyone. (-_-)AHHHHHHHHHHH Around and around it goes!!!!!! SAVE YOURSELVES THE HEADACHE!!!!!!

The staff at Roadside Assistance and myself made many calls over the course of 4 days to this dealer and nobody knew where the car was.Finally, I drove to Santa Monica myself and lo-and-behold my car is parked front and center in their lot. The people answering phones did not care enough, and repeatedly couldnt be bothered to look for or investigate my issue.

Comment: It’s sad what has happened to this place. The former Fiat of Santa Monica was wonderful and had excellent customer service. The service center has now moved and has been combined with Maserati, as Fiat owns Maserati. The “new” employees (Maserati employees who are now dealing with Fiat) are completely arrogant, uncommunicative, and dismissive. It’s really unfortunate that no one at Fiat cares about this.

Comment: No care about customer retention. I started out thanking them for being available to see my Fiat 500 Abarth, and that I might be in the market for a 500e as well. I mentioned I came to them because they sponsored several exotic forums to where I am a member. And when the 32k service and inspection was recommended, I opted in, because I wanted to start out the relationship with a car with a clean bill of health. So when I returned to get my car I was met with a bill for $650+. A little steep for such a car, but hey, relationship building. Then I was pointed to the valet. My bill of service had no notes on it of any use. Was my car falling apart? was it in perfect health? was it burning oil? Nothing. Even a $100 oil change at Jiffylube or Pepboys they at least say thanks for coming in and give you a thumbs up or go for the upsell with a checklist of things to look at. Nothing. They tend to be a dealer that leases a lot of Maseratis and Alfas to people that probably know nothing about cars beyond the badge, so maybe they are just used to taking money and pushing people out the door without any information.

Comment: Terrible service. Took them three days to tell us that our Fiat 500 needed a clutch. Then they tried to charge us $3000.00 for a clutch replacement! Even at their ridiculous $225/hr labor rate that seems like a lot of hours to replace a clutch. They also wanted $400 to change a battery (part + 1 hr labor). I did it last time and it took me 15 minutes. I was told that they would match any estimates that I had. I had one for $1,100 that I was told they would honor. Hmmm. Overprice much? Oh, did I mention that Brad, the service guy, was a condescending jerk. Stay away from this place.

Comment: Ok guys you, I gave you MULTIPLE times over the course of 3 months to rectify my complaint. Now, in good faith I can leave the review you deserve. When I leased my car I was talked into purchasing a wear and tear insurance and told that would prevent any charges at the end of the lease. I turned the car in in March and was told by Chris morales that no charges would happen and given his card in the event it did. Sure enough charged for some wheel rim scratches. I called and was given the run around about how to remove the charges for 3 months!!!! No return calls from this guy either. After enough of it, I called fiat who said they will send me a check. Watch out, this insurance they try to sell you is a scam and a run around. Bad business guys and I will never be back!

Comment: Who knew. FIAT dealerships dont need to perform all of the items listed on the required maintenance lists unless you specifically ask. FIAT USA basically leaves it up to the individual dealers to decide. Santa Monica FIAT didnt rotate my tires (as stated in their own maintenance manual ) for the four years Ive been taking my FIAT to them. When they finally did, there was significant road noise resulting. Now they tell me the solution is for me to buy new tires. Who knows what other required maintenance has NOT been performed over the last four years. I called four other LA FIAT dealers and they all rotate tires every time an oil change is performed as the manual states. Santa Monica FIAT refuses to return my calls to resolve the situation. People ask me often how I like my FIAT. I will have a much different answer from now on.

Comment: Isaac Monsour is fantastic. Knowledgeable, friendly, candid, not pushy, helpful in every way. Hes got a nice low-key personality, and was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He even appears to have some special kind of double-jointed knees that allow him to fold his long legs up, origami-like, into the back seat of a 500 without crying in pain. Either that or the back seat is WAY bigger than it looks.

Comment: This was one of two Fiat dealers in the LA area that I had narrowed down after doing an online search for the 500e I wanted. They were very flexible in terms of timing to accommodate my busy work schedule during the week, and I completed my new lease transaction in about 2 hrs. If you already know what youre looking for or have a pretty good idea, Id completely recommend going here as they dont waste time and will take care of you. The right-sized showroom itself is also very open, inviting and not car-sales-feeling. Tommaso was a great sales rep to work with!

I took the car to Santa Monica Fiat and was naturally concerned that mechanically it be restored, as close as possible, to an as new condition. I expressed the issues that I believe needed attention to Rodney, the Service Manager. He understood completely. The bodywork was done be Hermans Auto Body and they did an excellent job. The mechanicals were addressed by Hermans and S.M. Fiat. I really appreciated Rodneys knowledge and professionalism. Hes the best Service Manager Ive dealt with. With respect to Hermans, Tony Garcia was fabulous and always kept me informed as I live 90 miles north in Santa Barbara.

The whole place has the atmosphere of friendly welcoming without the pushy typical car salesmen attitudes that permeate throughout the industry. Throughout our visits there while considering the 500e, there was no, and I repeat NO pressure to make the commitment. They were there to answer all of our questions and guide us through the process, but never once did we feel pressured into anything! A truly remarkable car buying experience.
