Firestone Complete Auto Care in other cities:
The air conditioning on my 16 year old car was working but not as well as it used to so I took it in to be recharged. Firestone emptied the refrigerant my car had, told me it was leaking, said I needed to pay over $1000 for a whole new unit, and refused to refill it. Now were having a heatwave and I have no air conditioning at all. I asked if I could try a recharge kit and he said it would leak out within a week. Really? I had air conditioning when I got there. The employee who explained this to me would not look me in the eye the whole time so I knew I made a mistake taking my car there. I do not believe it was leaking and Im hoping they didnt intentionally do something to cause it to leak because Im going to try a recharge kit myself. Thats what I should have done in the first place. I do not recommend this Firestone at all.
Awesome place & service. We were traveling through on the way home to Illinois when we experienced trouble with our Ford diesel truck. Being a Sunday there wasnt much open or if they were open, they couldnt fit us in until 34 or 48 hours later. We needed to get back because we have livestock not mention jobs to return to. God blessed them withnot just any mechanic but a diesel mechanic. Staff was great...above & beyond...& they put a fresh pot of coffee on!
Went there to fix my car lights (both headlights and one fog light). They told me that only one fog light and a marker light needs to be fixed. They fixed the fog light, but told me that the marker light harness needs to be fixed and I have to take it to dealership. The very same night when I turned the lights on, the fog light that was replaced wasnt working. When I was inspecting it, found out that they after taking out the marker light, they hadnt put it back in its place and left it out hanging and had shut the hood on top of it. They had ripped the plastic cover on top of the tire ( i am assuming trying to reach the fog light) and hadnt put it back in place either (because it was broken now). Called them the next day, and the employee who answered the phone told me to come in the next day and assured me that I dont need appointment. When I went in, the store manager told me that they cant help me because their schedule was full. The store manager was courteous and made an appointment for the next day; but after making appointment I changed my mind not to go back in there because they are obviously not very professional. I went there and they told me the headlight was fine, even though they were both burned out. I wouldnt recommend going in there.
I cant possibly describe how great these folks are. Just recently, I took my sisters car in for an alignment and two new tires. John and the technicians were just great. No high pressure sales tactics, pretty fast quality service and they do more than just tires.I usually work on my own vehicles but there have been a few occasions I couldnt perform the necessary tasks myself, so I brought my vehicle here. Highly recommended.Plus they like veterans here. You wont regret going there.Edit:I purchased some tires for my Trans Am GTA off of eBay (they couldnt get the tires I needed so they recommended that). I took them there and had them mounted and balanced. Very pleased.Edit:. Just went back and purchased 4 new tires for my moms car. She and I couldnt be happier. Very pleased with the service.Edit:. Went back and had them repair the back drum brakes. Total cost. 39 dollars. Great people and great work. Thanks to a new loyal customer.
Don’t go here. I am convinced they have been negligent and that they tried to rip me off by flat out lying. My wife went in with a Ford Edge we bought a week before that was having issues braking. They told her the car had a broken axle and it would cost nearly $700. I called so I could get a sense of what the issues were, and the price came down to $600 and told them we had just bought the car. We wanted a second opinion. I picked up the car and the guy told me some of the other issues can wait but the axle must be fixed and it could fully brake while I am driving. The price came down to just under $500.I took the car to a private shop on the north side (see my other car repair reviews for a good recommendation). I told them nothing about what Fire Stone told me. They never mentioned a broken axle. When I asked about the axle, they said it was fine. The problem was a sensory that tracks the movement of the wheel was cracked, and so, it would give false readings to the breaking system. The price to fix this was $200.A while ago I brought my wife’s car in: a Mazda. I don’t remember why I brought it in. Just to tune it up and change a belt. They said there was one other issue. It wasn’t too expensive, and we went ahead and did the work. The guy we worked with was great and said the car was in good shape and would last a long time. A few days later I was at a stop sign when the car shock and there were a bunch of popping sounds. I turn off the car. I look underneath and the car was losing all its fluids. The lines just came apart. I had it towed back to this Fire Stone and they fixed it for free. But after that I had to jump the car every time I started it. I took it in, and they changed the battery. It would for a week or so then the issue started again. Then after dealing with this for a month the engine of the car dropped out of its casing while I was driving down Oakland. It was cheaper to buy a used car then to fix this.
I had Firestone check out a used car I was interested in (10 dollar inspection fee much cheaper than the surrounding mechanics. Granted I am sure they would charge more if you really want them to dig into the engine) and they did a wonderful job. Ryan Lee was great at explaining exactly what was going on. He took the time to show me the problems that the vehicle was experiencing and how urgent each of them was. As a DIYer I asked how difficult some of the maintenance would be and they were straight forward about that as well. Whenever you are checking a car out go to them first (it also helps that they are open on sunday).
I want to give a big THANK YOU to Ryan and the techs. They went way above and beyond and got my plow truck back to me on a Sunday before the big storm. My brake line was leaking and they fixed it properly and got me back on my way in a few hours even with being a very busy Sunday by the looks of it when I was in there. Will absolutely continue to go to this Firestone and mention it to anyone I know needing work on their cars. Thanks again!
Have to be fair! The employees were awesome, customer service was awesome BUT had to ding them on the Quality Of Work. At least they were honest about their mistake but for the amount I paid for my all-terrain tires, everything should have been perfect. I would recommend.
I just took my sisters car for an oil change. It was my first time visiting this place. OMG......those guys were SUPER helpful and friendly!!! I felt so comfortable there, they took their time to explain everything. And the icing on the cake was this..... i have public toilet phobia..... (lol) lbvvvvvs..... they the CLEANEST public bathroom ive ever visited..... it was soooooo clean, smelled good, warm water, well stocked supplies.... i sincerely appreciated that the very most. I will most definitely be taking my car there soon!!! I would highly recommend this business to family, friends, and strangers!!!!
Do not take your car to these crooks. They are out to burn you.I took my 2001 Subaru Outback to these guys when it had broken down on my road trip. My car was stalling out, and they told me I needed a new catalytic converter. It should have been obvious to me from the start that they were trying to rip me off. They were using terms that were way too technical to describe my catalytic converter issue. They basically told me it was clogged. The repair cost 1,080$. Heres some statistics for you. A catalytic converter costs on average 100$. My car was in their shop for about 3 hours. That means these guys either make 300$ an hour for labor, or they are total thieves. You decide. On top of that, after the repair was finished, my car STILL BROKE DOWN nothing they had done fixed my car! And when I called and demanded a refund, the guy on the phone tried to haggle me down to 750$. I reluctantly took my 750$ and will never do business with firestone again.
I took my 2006 pontiac torrent in because I have no heat and the blower was constantly on you couldnt turn it off. Well I got a call today to pick it up and low behold the heat wasnt fixed. They put a new control panel in and it was blowing cold air. So one thing (and let me mention it was not the important thing) was fixed not my heat!!! They charged me over 600$!! Now I have to take it back to them a second time! Would not recommend this place!
Made appointment for a quick and routine service and intended to wait in the lobby for completion. 60 minutes after the appointment time and my vehicle had not moved. Meanwhile, a half dozen techs are standing around and smoking cigarettes. I asked to reschedule and the clerk was rude and abrupt. Very unprofessional outfit
I knew I needed brakes done, so I scheduled an appointment online and figured they could do my oil change too.I did drop my vehicle off an hour later than expected which wasnt an issue, but it was surprising that they didnt even contact me to see if I would still be coming in. When I did drop off my keys the two workers in the shop looked at me like I had 3 heads - they didnt even say hello they just stared! I work in customer service so I know how emotionally exhausting it can be to have a customer facing position, but I felt like a nuisance already for attempting to patronize their business...On my way home I checked my email - $123 was the price for my oil change. I typically pay $80-90 at other shops for full synthetic. I called to let them know I do not need that service. They called to advise me that my brakes would be close to $1200, as I needed all 4 done plus two calipers. At that point I was already concerned over the price difference in a simple oil change and had a gut feeling I should take it to another shop. I declined the repairs and took it to another chain shop in the area.I work in insurance, Im no stranger to the fact that different shops have different rates. Im absolutely flabbergasted that people pay that much to have their vehicles repaired here. Or maybe I dont look rich enough to bother with, I dont know. Regardless my experience here left me feeling completely unvalued. And the other shop said my calipers were not a concern - so if youre a woman Id definitely be weary of this location being the type to push unnecessary options if you arent familiar with vehicle maintenance and repairs.

2022-05-19I work here at Firestone and I work with three very qualified guys that work hard for our customers. We consider our customers the boss. And we try to please each and every one of them. I know the work that is done here is quality work because I check each and every job as I am the lead Auto tech. I have a good 30 years of experience with Car Care. So we hope to see you in the future my name is Richard and the guy in the front counter is either Mike, Jeremy, or Doug.

2022-07-18I have had nothing less then amazing service here. The team was awesome, every single person Ive encountered. The store manager was beyond helpful, Ive used this location in the past and will continue to do so. This is my go-to car place, and Ill continue to reccomend them to anyone seeking car help. They also helped with suggestions on where I could take my car for the issue they were not able to help with (specialty not normal issue haha).

2022-06-23I went for a rotation but also need a tires. They steered me to some cheaper tires that they felt were just as good as some more expensive tires and said I needed an alignment but when they put it on the machine found that I did not need an alignment so I was not charged. The service took 20 minutes less time than they quoted! Overall I found the group of people at this Firestone location very honest and very nice.

2022-05-07Had to take my car here because it was one of the only places the warranty worked at. Had it taken in 3 times for the same thing that they fixed all 3 times. Then we have to take it back for the 4th time and low and behold the transmission is missing in 2nd. They cant diagnose anything for the life of them.

2021-12-05Big thanks to Jeremy for scheduling my service and delivering prompt and professional service! Clean and convenient location with nice waiting area. Went in for a tire rotation, oil change and a headlight out. I was scared that I might be in for a lot more, as my car is high mileage. Nope! Quick service and I was on with my day! Highly recommend!

2021-08-27I highly recommend this shop! They got me in on short notice in an emergency. Every other shop in town told me theyd get to me next week or after labor day. Alexis was incredibly friendly, kind, helpful and compassionate. They got me in and out in one day and charged me an astonishingly fair price for the work. I live in NWI, but will gladly drive back to Kalamzoo to have this shop do the rest of the repairs I need done.

2020-09-25I just had my oil changed and a new battery and a couple other things done to my car. The lady who waited on me her name is Alexis. She was the sweetest , polite and very helpful. I had questions and she had the answers. She told me that is why she is there to help people. I was so pleased. She deserves a BIG promotion. I give Firestone 5 stars because of her and of course the mechanic who worked on my car.

2018-12-30I had a great experience with this location. We took our SUV in for an oil change and the manager working on the Sunday was upbeat and really friendly. Great prices and knowledgeable staff with no pressure for up sales.3rd visit this year and they are the only place Ill go. They tell you about potential issues and future service needs but never pressure you to make additional purchases. Ryan, who often works on Sunday is the friendliest manager Ive met. Highly recommend!
