Well I spent about 200, a little over to shoot at the twangs and I had selected my gun I wanted before hand I was going to purchase, they kept myID I assumed for a background check and said come out at7:30 then because some lazy worker didn’t wanna do his job they lost out on a thousand dollars. Half the staff is really nice! The rest are rude as can be. Oh and they called me and said hey we have your if while I was in the range, when they were supposed to be doing A BACKGROUND CHECK. Glad I blew 200 for absolutely no reason. Two workers even said they would place it aside for me. I’m salty as can be.
Purchased a handgun a couple of months ago from The Firing Line. Ive returned a number of times to use their firing range. NEVER an unpleasant experience. Floyd, Tyler and Bryce are extremely friendly and helpful. With regard to $$$, their prices seem fair. Sure you can Google the snot out of a gun, ammo or accessories but they do carry a good selection at decent prices. Wouldnt think of going anywhere else.
My first time here and I was very impressed with the customer service it was unbelievable. All of the worker were very friendly and knowledgeable. They help me step by step all the way. I recommend these guys if your in the market for some home defense. Thank you guys.
I’ve been coming here for years, in fact I ordered my first handgun through Firingline, back when they were located on Hix.I was a member of a gun club for several years, but finally decided not to renew my membership, as I did not feel like I fit in with the (mostly retired) members. Luckily, I still have Firingline to entertain a boring afternoon!
I called at least 20+ gun shops in southeast, MI and nobody had the gun I wanted except Firing Line. I was unable to come in same day to purchase it, but they held it for me without even asking for a deposit! When I came in, Jeremiah took care of me and made the purchasing process super easy. It was my first fire arm purchase, so I needed someone to really walk me through it and Jeremiah did an excellent job even though the store was busy. I was able to purchase my HK and fire it on their range same day. 5 STARS!! Will be returning for future purchases and range time!
First visit with in-laws: Been a customer here for 12 years, even had one of my first dates with my wife here. I brought in my in-laws to get their first handguns. The staff was friendly, full of smiles, and informative, and they helped us pick appropriate pistols for my in-laws needs. Father-in-laws background check went through no problem and we bought his gun. We had to come back for my mother-in-laws.Second visit with in-laws: After a few days, we called to see if the background was done and it was, all cleared and good to go. My mother-in-law was excited, we went in to pick up her gun. An entirely different staff was here his time, no smiles, and a rude man named Dave would be the person who would help us today. Dave, after checking my mother-in-laws ID, address, social, and information; decided to add another requirement to purchasing a gun.Dave asked my mother-in-law to read a sentence in English to him as well. Mind you, this is after she had passed the background check. My in-laws are Asian-Americans and were speaking Vietnamese in the shop. I guess this bothered Dave. Dave decided to include an English language requirement to our 2nd amendment right.I will never shop here again.
A very nice young man named Jeremiah helped me. He was very patient and knowledgeable. He was courteous/ friendly and showed me the best type of firearm for me with my limitations. The store has many options and very affordable products. I would recommend The Firing Line and will continue to give them my business.
Great experience! They have so many different guns in their rental program, They make your purchasing process easier than anywhere else I have ever been. Have family who took got their CPL after taking the classes here and they had nothing but good things to say about it. For any and everything firearms please choose the firing line, You won’t be disappointed!
I came in to Firing Line to buy my first handgun and the older gentleman named Joe was very helpful and knowledgeable when helping me make my decision. He let me hold any of the guns for as long as I wanted in order to figure out which one felt like the best fit for my hand size.I came back a few days later to take the First Time Shooter Course and I was instructed by a friendly gentleman named Andy who seemed to have a very extensive knowledge and was able to answer all of our questions. I had some trouble with my new gun malfunctioning but he was able to help me figure out what I was doing wrong and corrected my grip so that my gun wouldnt jam up any more. Overall it was a very positive experience and I think I will be coming back from time to time in the future. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because were currently in a pandemic and cases of COVID-19 are higher than ever before, but despite that many of the employees did not wear masks (Andy DID wear his mask, however). I wish the employees would wear their masks just for the safety of the customers but besides that I think they are friendly and knowledgeable.
Went into the store today and will never shop here again. I asked one of the team members for help with buying a Glock with Blue label pricing. I handed him my Identification for the EMS company I worked for and he stated it was invalid. He said the ID had to have a city on it where I work. I asked for clarification since I had just bought a Glock in January using blue label pricing with the same exact ID, the employee proceeds to say “What did you not understand about what I just told you”. I am never really one to get easily upset, but I will not be spending money in an establishment where the employees talk to their customers like that. I also contacted Glock personally for clarification on the Identification used for purchase for a Blue Label firearm, my Identification is 100% valid and is able to be used to purchase a firearm. Very disappointed with the interaction I had today. Nowhere near the same experience I had previously. Will not be returning.
I recently purchased an AR15 lower at Firing Line. The staff was very helpful. Jeromiah helped me finish everything up after my background check was cleared. He is very friendly, knowledgeable and a Star Wars fan to boot! I enjoyed my experience there and will be back as a regular customer in the future. I would recommend anyone to stop in. Ask for Jeromiah! He’ll take care of ya.
Just left, couldnt wait to get home to write this review. I love that the rifle range is separate from the gun range. Having to go to two in the same hour is worth the separation. This review on personnel is for Kane and Brice. Kane helped me pick out the right cleaning kit for my weapon and Brice is the friendly cashier who told me what I only had to do, regarding checking in, on my next visit. Very polite and professional. Will be back and hope the entire staff treats me the same!Back, two days later. Bought a another cleaning kit from Al. Al has a great sense of humor and customer service skills. I drive 45min to use this range, bypassing others in route, because of the people. Brice, remembered me and that goes a long way in my book!!! Some places treat you like a number, get your money and thats it, not here.
I will NEVER purchase another gun here in my life. If you want Top Quality and three months of FREE range time when you purchase your gun then go to TOP GUN in Taylor. Firing Line is unprofessional, they overcharge you and they are dishonest. Go to Top Gun in Taylor if you want excellent service.
Called them for a gun I was looking for they, had it in stock when most stores do not. The price was also the cheapest I have seen for the gun I was looking for. The gentleman who helped me was very professional and friendly. Only negative is the first guy I approached was more interested in his phone than making a sale.
I’m rating based on two scenarios. I purchased a firearm here and found the sales team to be informed, helpful and kind. It was a smooth transaction and I was happy with my purchase. Based on my positive experience, I decided to sign up for a “New Shooter/beginner” course which cost $50 plus $19 for ammo. It ended up being a complete waste of my time, money, patience and energy. The instructor seemed impatient (although it was literally a beginner course) and a bit aggressive. He also lacked professionalism in my opinion as every other sentence he had to say included the “F” word, which is fine but I don’t know you and I’m a customer not an old college buddy or someone who went thru service with you. I had trouble understanding his off color humor, references and remarks. I ended up walking out of the class and the experience has changed my view of the business. I feel I could have learned more from a YouTube video and it wasn’t worth the $70 and wasted time.
Came in and looked at a couple of handguns for concealed carry and Jeremiah was extremely helpful. Being an amateur firearm enthusiast I thought I knew what I wanted when I walked through the door, but I was pointed in a different direction base on my wants and needs. The Sig is top of the line and I enjoy every-time I get the chance to shoot it. Next gun I buy will be from him. Thanks again firing line.
This is my usual go-to in the area for a reason, but today reaffirmed that in spades. The Staff is always friendly, helpful, knowledgable and patient answering questions while looking at new gear. Better yet, One of the sales staff noticed my bag had a small tear and wrote a personal note with who to email for warranty service which was an amazing touch. The rental/range is also very well run and very friendly staff. Definitely will continue to give my business here and enjoy every time I go (which is not nearly enough lately).
Clean organized and well stocked I would recommend this place to anyone. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful while some people may find the staff dry you have realize that a gun shop and range is not like your typical retail store. The ranges are nice and I like the fact that the rifle range is separated from the pistol range. They have I believe 16 pistol lanes and a few rifle lanes. Accessories guns ammo rentals they have it all and classes. Also they have a gunsmith if you need work done.
I have bought two guns there and was so impressed I took my wife with me and took their cpl class. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. We shoot there regularly because of their strict attention to gun safety rules. Be prepared because if you do something stupid you will be reprimanded. I was taken aback by their zeal at first, but common sense prevailed and I was thankful that such a watchful eye was kept...keep up the good work ladies and gentlemen!!
Absolutely great gun shop! I’ve used their range many times and purchased a couple guns as well as accessories there. When I bought my AR-15 the guy who sold it to me said that because I was patiently waiting to sign the paperwork he hooked me up with a free box of ammo and a free P-MAG. As far as who sold me that gun I’ll leave names out of it so I don’t get that particular employee in trouble LOL. Great place to do business, it’s my go to gun shop. The only question I have is why do you need to have someone with you when you want to rent a pistol to shoot? Other than that it’s a great store and I look forward to doing more business in the following years!
Messed up the pistol sales record and when I called Firing Line to inform them of their discrepancy that was completely their fault the person on the phone was very short and somewhat rude.I decided to buy another firearm, this time at Top Gun in Taylor. Over there you are met with more professionalism and they check over the paperwork with you to ensure everything is correct. Now, I have to try to figure out how to correct the pistol sales record on my own behalf which is a pain because due to Covid 19 it is hard to get in contact with the people who handle firearm registration records via phone.I do not think Firing Line as a whole is incompetent when selling firearms. I just think the guy who sold me the gun is incompetent. It did appear that other employees at Firing Line were more professional and reliable.
Update: As stated in my previous review Ive been a customer probably a couple decades. My previous review was glowing besides the range counter staff. I do however have to change my rating as they are price gouging transfers. Center Mass is still $20-30 but firing line is price gouging at $75 per transfer. Just to be clear before COVID19 they were $20-$30. Im very disappointed, will pass this on and remember it when things stablize.Original: Ive been a customer since the original location. Overall its a great place. It is hit or miss with the attitude you get from the range counter. Negative experiences with poor customer service with an attitude on that front. Other than that highly recommended.
Knew what I wanted, called to confirm availability. Spoke with two salespeople, one to order, one who called when order was in. Both very professional and courteous. (Dina and Floyd) Went to pick up my order, the shop was really busy. I was greeted and had a salesman helping me within 5 minutes. Matthew F was very helpful and professional. He processed my order expediently, and was courteous and professional while answering my questions about ammo, night sights, and holsters. In all, a very quick, very professional transaction. I recommend Firing Line and will be back when I need more advice or need to place an order.
During my month long quest of picking out a new EDC these guys were very helpful every step of the way. Staff was polite and answered every question/concern I had with the desired gun. I ended up picking up a p365 and the worker that dealt with me was very polite and helpful. I only have 2 complaints that I encountered during this quest1) gun rental: didnt make much sense to me that I couldnt rent a gun if I was by myself unless I already had a gun with me. Luckily I happen to have my EDC on me at the time so I was able to rent the pistol I planned on buying.2) holster selection: now their selection is decent but not of youre left handed. Left handed holsters for specific guns are far and few between. This forced me to just order one online vs spending a additional $70+ in the store.
It’s all about WHO you get to help you there with purchasing guns, one person seemed to be very disrespectful and didn’t want to help me at all while the other employee came to my rescue and helped with no problem. I was told guns were in stock over the phone got here 15 mins later none of them were in stock.
Bought a red dot which led to me finding out I have astigmatism, dot looks crisp for those with good eyes but I see it as a flared out shooting star. Staff was very courteous and professional, allowing me to exchange the optic even though it wasnt due to any fault of theirs, even helping me choose the right one. Great customer service, I will definitely be giving them more business in the future.
I haven’t had my class yet but when I went to sign up I went over to see the gun I thought I wanted to purchase, the guy who helped me was Doug who convinced me that the gun I wanted was not really what I wanted. I thought I wanted this Sig 9mm but actually it was too big for me to handle and also I wouldn’t have been able to conceal it. I know women that do carry a 9mm but they keep it in their purses and I don’t want that...I want to wear mine on my side. Doug was patient and very informative he showed me a P 365 which I think is better for me. My class is scheduled for the 20th of October and afterward I intend to purchase my firearm from you guys.
I went there to purchase a gun. Upon arriving to their shop I was treated very poorly by the staff. Even with my CPL, a background check was still conducted and I was then placed on a delay. It only takes up to 5 days and then without hearing back from a background check, by law that gun would have to be sold to me. I did not receive a call back from this place for almost 2 weeks. When I received the phone call I was told I could come and pick up my gun. When I told him how unhappy I was with the experience and the wait they put me through, I told him I was not sure if I was still wanted to purchase the gun from them. Without them saying any other word to me, they just hung up the phone on me. I will happily wait a couple extra weeks for the gun to come in stock at CQT, a store where they treat you with respect
As far as the “sales personnel”, the most rude and unprofessional group of individuals I have encountered. Back in the summer, I was looking to purchase a sig 229 and came across one online and here at the store. In the store, they offered a better deal. There were at least 7 sales associates around and out of the 7, only one acknowledged me after standing at the display case for about 5 minutes, which he stated to me someone will be with me shortly. That shortly turned into another 10 minutes. Mind you it was not busy, and 3 other associates walked past me while I was standing there, and another guy just stood there looking at me. I ended up purchasing the firearm online. Fast forward to last week, a buddy of mines wanted to come here and shoot. We meet up here and before shooting, he wanted to look and see what new firearms they had in. Same scenario as the summer, as no one even acknowledged us while we were browsing. Not a “can I help you” or “interested in seeing something”. What we did get however, was 3 sales guys sitting at the displays eating their lunch. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a shopper that looks for the red carpet treatment, but common courtesy and sales basics is all I ask for. These guys here don’t get it, or simply don’t care. I told my buddy I’ll never spend another dime in that place. It sucks because the range itself is pretty good.
As with any business you have good employees and you have bad employees I had experience with both for my visit here at the firing line. The store has extensive parts yet could be arranged and stocked better for a better shopping experience but that being said it has a little bit of everything again it was Friday afternoon store was busy received but not from another employee but I did not shoot on the Range. The range seems small for the amount of customers coming through the door wanting to use it also the firearm rentals you have to be accompanied by an employee to rent and shoot on their range one of their firearms. I dont understand that but that is one of their rules crazy as it may be, maybe I misunderstood their policy on firearm rentals I didnt stick around there was again Friday busy day I will be back to make another assessment of this range.
Ive been going to the Firing Line for years. I have bought several guns over the last 4 years and have had great treatment, very professional service and knowledge. Ive recommended them to several of my friends and all had good results in their purchases. Ive seen them extremely busy at times and just not able to answer all the questions of beginners. But Ive also seen them talk to beginners and spend all kinds of time helping them when they were not backed up 6 deep for each sales person. I have dealt with most of the sales people and NEVER had a problem with any of them. Their pricing is excellent on firearms and fair on accessories and ammo. I drive by at least 5 gun shops to visit them and will continue doing so.
Great selection of firearms, just some of the most annoying sales staff ever, everyone their acts like its a huge inconvenience to ask them about a firearm or look at one, just an absolutely lazy staff who think they all know everything about any gun but really they know nothing about customer service which is ultimately what they need to focus on. Great indoor range to hone your shot, but just painfully annoying and rude staff.
I have visited the Firing Line a number of times mostly for target practice with my own equipment. There has always been ample room for a spot on the range. The range is clean and well lit. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. Every experience has been positive so far.
Bought my first pistol here and the staff seemed ok during the purchase. Now after going back multiple times to use the range and then trying to get a gun transferred through them, I will never go back. They don’t seem to understand the rules and regulations and therefore will only do what is convenient for them to transfer a gun. Along with this, they said we won’t ship it, but will give me 40% if what you paid for it new last year. I went up the road and had no issues transferring and the staff was much more friendly and accommodating. Unreal, my business has gone elsewhere since and I do not plan to go back.
This review was completed by a customer that bought a pistol from The Firing Line and uses their range often. My comments are based on my impressions over multiple visits (10+).Customer service is very poor. Staff are often rude or condescending. I have witnessed staff behave in ways that were shocking. It is a shame because this store has AWESOME firing ranges, a large range of quality stock of firearms and accessories, great prices, and is the only place that I am aware of that rents pistols, allowing consumers a chance to fire a pistol before buying it.Please take the time to read other reviews and you will find that most of them are negative.Hopefully this establishment will find a way to ensure good customer service in the future. I have not yet decided if I will continue to use their firing range. I do know that I will never ask for advice at the Firing Line because I do not want to go home feeling like I was walked all over for asking a simple, relevant question.
Took the CPL class here, grt instructor, experienced and well informed. Will be back for membership, really clean and Covid prepped. Love the variety of guns and riffle, and accessories. The girls at the counter were polite and ready to assist. The old man in there is strict and all business, Do Not Mess with him! This place was on my radar for a long time, since there aren’t any ranges in Canton so this is the closest one to us. The parking and due to covid the weekend are not a good time to visit, since the classes are only happening on the weekend they are only taking maximum of 8 ppl at a time, you’ll have to wait outside for someone to come out and for you to go in. Price for membership was $200 for 6 months, and for the CPL class was $125.
My husband and I decided to purchase our first handgun, so we made several trips in, and each time the staff at the range and in the shop were super helpful! I went to Ladies Night to get a bit more experience and it was awesome! Robin and the ladies took away all the intimidation and made it a fun learning experience. I would HIGHLY recommend this class for any ladies thinking about getting a gun. Its a great intro, and a good way to learn the fundamentals. When we decided what we were going to purchase, Matt was very happy to help.I will definitely be returning to continue my education and probably spend more money!
Ive been to a lot of gun shops in the past 25 years and let me say I will not go anywhere else for the purchase of a rifle or firearm. They are approximately an hour away from where I live. My wife purchased a rifle and right off the bat we were welcomed and felt very comfortable, the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable...They really did take the time to explain the gun how to clean it, how to break it down...I cant say enough good things about the store.
Ive been here about a dozen times and have bought two guns. Always respectful and timely. Ive never had to wait more than ten minutes before someone helps me. Ive seen them help new shooters and people new to guns multiple times, with patience and respect. From my experience they just dont appreciate people wasting their time. If you are friendly and respectful from the beginning, you will receive it in return. Will definitely return to buy more firearms in the future.
Nice clean range and they were very friendly. Im not sure why people had trouble here in other reviews. I have been several times now and they have been great every time. Very knowledgeable about all their products. My only complaint is the range was like a sauna the last time I was there...not really a big deal though.
We had the most positive experience possible. Bob was so informative and knowledgeable. He explained everything about loading and firing a gun. He was very patient with us when it was time to experience firing a gun. Bob was polite at all times. I never felt like a fool when I did something incorrectly. We will definitely be returning for more lessons and practice. I highly recommend the Firing Line if you want a positive experience at your first time handling a gun
I have dealt with the staff at the firing line for several years now. Everyone I have come into contact with has been knowledgeable and straight forward with good accurate information. They are always willing to take the time to explain and show you the proper use of a firearm. Keep up the good work.
I read the awful reviews before I went there. I was hesitant to go but very glad I did! Very helpful and personable staff. Joe helped me purchase my first revolver and was a very cool and polite gentleman! Mario also gave me some insight into my purchase and was helpful as well. I will definitely do more business with this place!
Prices are very good on guns, most accessories and ammo is pretty highly priced but the gun prices are some of the lowest around. The people that work there are very commonly rude and dont want to spend any time helping out customers. All and all the shop is very clean and they will most likely have what you want but their customer service is definitely lacking.
I went in with a general idea of what I wanted, what I wanted it for, and how much I wanted to spend. Very good prices by the way. I did a lot of shopping around and they had the lowest I could find. Very nice range, one of the nicest I have been to. Knowledgeable staff, good salespeople. Werent pushy, didnt try to upsell me. Guy with 82nd patch on his shirt didnt call me a dirty leg once. Cant ask for much more. Theyll be seeing a lot of me at their range in the future, and for all my future firearm purchases.
I have to say that I would have given this place a very bad review in the past. Ive had experience with Firing Line for years and they never used to be good, but sometimes they were the only place to go. My experiences recently and particularly since they moved have been better though. The staff was courteous, the new rage facility is great, and overall my experience there has been better than your average retail experience. So, if you havent been to Firing Line in a long time and youre soured by your past experiences, give them a second chance.
I went to here to use the firing range was not a bad experience, however when it came time to buy a piece I was unable to get any customer service. I knew which make and model that I wanted, but stood in the store for 5-8mins with out anyone asking Can I help you? so I walked out. I called the next day to report the issue and informed him that I would rather buy the hand gun down the street and pay the extra $100 to get the customer service that is expected from a local hot spot for arms and the manger did not even care. They have lost my business and I will encourage my friends and family to go else where as well.
Great Service, extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Could not have asked for a better experience in purchasing a firearm. Not sure where the bad experiences are coming from. Had two salespeople ask me if I needed any help before I even made it to the firearms section. I will be back and will recommend to my friends and family.
Blue label pricing on Glocks is great, they have an onsite rifle and pistol range. The accessory selection is a bit lacking and firearm selection is limited as well.I did have a bad experience when buying my FNX tactical and their reloaded range ammo. The staff was unwilling to assist with the feed issues I was experiencing. I bought a box of White Box and it ran the gun fine but they would not take back the 45 ammo that would not run my new gun. They also would not take care of the magazine release issue with the FNX. At my store we would have contacted the manufacturer and taken care of the problem.Overall a solid store that is just a bit lacking in selection and customer service.
Absolutely worst gun store I have ever been in! Their pricing is OK, but you would be better off going to Action guns. The sales people here are some of the rudest and most arrogant people you will ever meet, and god forbid you have a problem with your purchase... they will NOT help you at all.Stay clear if you do not like Drama, frustration and stress in your life. Immediately upon meeting a sales guy in this store you will realize what I am saying is true.
This is my favorite indoor range. Ive been there numerous times and have purchased one gun from there. They can be busy though. Ive waited 45 minutes before just to shoot for 30 minutes. The folks behind the counter are human and when busy might be short at times but are generally good folks to talk to.
My wife and I took their beginners shooting class and our instructor Andy was great. He walked us thru all the basics in the classroom and then took us to the firing range. He gave us little bits of constructive criticism that really helped with out shooting. My wife and I are looking forward to some practice time on their pistol range and would like to take another class from Andy.
There is a big dude there looks like a ex cop or military, has a attitude and is rude. Not a large selection of handguns and they are way over priced. If you want to buy online and have it transferred there they charge $50 which is outrageous! Bought 1 gun from them won’t be going back again.
Came in today to sell my pistol and the man I talked to at the counter was rude and impatient the offer for my gun was also really low but what makes me give this place a 1 star was the staff. They made me feel very unwelcome. Firing line is now the last gun shop and range I will go to.
My previous experiences with Firing Line had been positive, mostly consisting of of renting firearms and time on the range while I was there with siblings or friends. On my most recent visit however I was alone, and was refused a firearm rental on these grounds. Not sure if a different employee would treat me differently, but Im probably not going to go back to find out. The range is within their rights to refuse business, but so are customers, and I will be taking my money elsewhere.
Robin is amazing!!! She helped me pick the perfect gun and I went through the ladies CPL course with her. She was very knowledgeable and patient. I learned so much from her and will definitely signing up for more training with her. Thank you so much Robin for helping me become more comfortable with my gun.
Most of the sales staff needs to be re-trained in customer service. Arrogant and unhelpful. I don’t take it personally, I’ve witnessed the same guys treating other customers the same.Ive purchased several firearms from them over the years, the attitude is getting old. Time to take my hard earned money elsewhere.
Love this store. Pretty friendly staff but they kept trying to sell me a 9 mm when I had my heart set on a 45. Bought what I wanted to buy but had to tell them quit pushing something on me I dont want right now. Police, Fire and EMS discount. Ill be back for my AR15 and now a 9 mm.
Alright, I read a few of the reviews here, and to be honest, I didnt see any of the bad things, but as a disclaimer I havent been more than once or used the ranges there. I went in to claim my raffle prize, as soon as they opened up I walked in. New to the store I walked up to counters, waited for them to end their conversation, and I was dealt with promptly. We exchanged greetings, I stated my purpose there, and we performed our business transactions. He told me about the pistol, what ammo I should use and even helped me pick out hardware for my AR-15s, including snap-caps. Without trying to up-sale me. They even went as far as entertaining my questions about non-lethal self-defense options. Needless to say, I will be going back for the majority of my recreational shooting needs.
BLACK PEOPLE!!! Please beware. The WHITE staff doesn’t want to see your people arm themselves. I went here and the morning staff said they haven’t sold any rifles in weeks. So I figured they should have some good prices. Apparently if someone asks you to shop around and find them a certain weapon for a certain price then you will still have to get said weapon in your name. Even if you didn’t want it. Or they won’t sell to you.SOUND RIDICULOUS? This bs happen to me at firing line. Then after being refused I went down the street and got the same rifle 100$ cheaper. 2A all day
Before I get into it, I want to say that while there the 25 year carrier of firearms pointed a weapon at me TWICE. That is he pointed a GUN that SHOOTS PEOPLE TO DEATH at me not once on accident but TWICE. I dont think I can stress enough how disturbing this is to me and should be to anyone considering visiting this sub-par establishment.Me and my buddy went in to purchase some ammo to go to the range. He impulsively purchased a firearm and was disappointing at the range (different range) that it would not fire accurately. Being reasonable men we decided to go back to the shop in a few days to at least discuss the problem. Now we arent ex-military or anything but we did our research about the firearms. When we walked in at 8pm (really the effective closing time) we got sneers and a generally unwelcoming feeling. My buddy explained the situation and we were told the sig does not have elevation adjustment >
I took my CCW class, bought 2 guns and use the range about once a month. I have seen the rude behavior that others describe but, in general, the staff have been helpful. I generally deal with one specific salesman because he will take the time to discuss options for what I want. I went in looking for a shotgun that I could take to Australia (lever action). He didnt have the answer but called over a distributor to see if they had any suggestions.
Good grief, I just read through several reviews by others...only because I was already on the website for other matters...and was given the excellent service, via telephone, I have always gotten from the Firing Line. As someone who did quite a bit of database and statistical work for the US Army for a couple decades, I can say one thing about the reviews....when you have a bunch of 1s and 2s mixed with a whole lot of 5s, you need to consider the disparity. When a spread is wide like between 2 and 5, frequently, go with the 5s....the 1s and 2s are emotional responses more focused on the responder than the subject of the review.I am speaking from experience from day one, including the lovely ladies who work the range desk (the iced coffee drinker is most charming) , and from purchases of at least 5 pistols, with plain simple clear assistance....from various personnel, all who were very helpful and knowledgeable. I brought my daughter in for her first pistol, then her second, and subsequent 12 hour CPL class, which I took with her, and it couldnt have been better. The patience required of the teaching staff during the 4 hours range time was enormous, but they handled it with aplomb. Impressive that they included the Tueller Drill as part of it.I am too wordy, so for the best review see : Brittney Thuss comments a while back...This place has excellent service! Dont listen to any bad comments on here. Ive been there a number of times for classes, range practice, and purchasing guns. I was a newbie to purchasing and owning a gun the first time I went. They had the best prices and they were very helpful and informative. They really know their stuff when it comes to guns. The range is also top of the line I have been to top gun and a couple other places and I would recommend firing line over any of them. She said it best.
Love this place. They are very inviting and want to sell you what you want. I have went to other gun shops and they make it seem like you are a burden when you are shopping. I live about 30 minutes away or more, probably pass or could go to other shops, but going here is worth the travel time. Also they have 90 day layaway....cool place
Show all prices so we don’t have to ask someone to show us. Please. The Owner and two employees are Awesome. The rest of the jaded and tactical goobers need to find a job NOT IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. if they’re this unfriendly why do they work with people? Hmmm..one of the better selections for accessories and arms in metro Detroit and prices are average for brick and mortar. But you may never know unless you can read from where you stand. I’m done pulling teeth to get help to see. I like to support local shops vs online. Making it harder to do so.
I refuse to go anywhere but to firing line. Nothing but family here. Literally 6 guns in and climbing. Clean environment, great conversation, honest & humble people. Goe & Bubba will have you crying laughing. Larry is too humble, took this guy 5min to explain why i should upgrade from my SD9VE to an M&P to ensure i didnt get offended. Very knowledgeable. Not lazy like a few shops i know. My appreciate for these guys is beyond me. My loyalty remains here. Highly recommended.
Youd better know EXACTLY what you want when you go in there. Very wise-ass impatient sales people, typical for gun shops though, especially if they sense youre a democrat that doesnt buy into their conspiracy theories (hey, it helps sell guns)...and I was told so by the saleslady. The classes they offer are very informative. The cover all aspects of concealed pistol ownership. Ive recalled the lessons Ive learned there many times, , and Im sure its kept me out of trouble.I highly recommend taking a few of these classes. And try to have patience with the jerks behind the counter, Ive bought, traded, sold and shot more pistols than these punks have since I was a kid, Im 68 now.

The women that run the range counter are extremely rude and their rifle ammo prices are very expensive. The gun range is pretty nice and well kept. I only use Firing Line as a last resort when shooting outside isnt an option. The new place in Ann Arbor is a much better choice.
The ranges themselves are very good. But the staff was rude and condescending. When you have a customer who is inquiring about membership and the woman at the front counter ignores all your questions they are in effect throwing potential long term money away. Also the woman at the front counter has no sense on how to act like a clerk. She didnt even tell me how much it would cost to rent a stall in the range until I asked her a second time. In fact she almost ran my payment method. She was insulting the party in front of me complaining that they were a large group. I can understand if they do this outside of earshot to other customers but she was talking clear as day RIGHT IN FRON OF ME to her colleague. Horrible experience. If you want to be talked down to, waste your money here.I will never go there again.
Bought 2 memberships there for me and my stepson to shoot our rifles, after they took my $600 a week later they told me that there is a charge to use the rifle range even as a member. They told me $7, a whopping $1 discount of if I were a non member. I call to complain to Don, and the answer is it cost $200k to build the rifle range. Well, sell 666 memberships and you have it, but you just lost 2. May sell a separate rifle member ship? Too bad cause the place is a decent facility, but Ill avoid it like the plague and make sure no one wastes their money on a membership unless they want to shoot just handguns (good luck no ammo either!)
Went for the range not the store.Pros: ample range space, automated targets you can operate easily with the control switches, not too busy.Cons: no rapid fire and no drawing from holsters which basically forbids realistic defense training. Probably a liability issue to prevent negligent discharges. This could be mitigated by offering an assessment and issuing proficiency cards to more serious shooters.
The most equipped and intelligible firearm business around for miles and miles. They carry high end firearms and accessories that I havent seen in stock in any other places along with every hot and popular item youd ever want to get your hands on. It sometimes can be hard to get what you want quickly during peak hours, but their expertise, service, and amazing prices are worth it hands down. This is my go to firearm store and range. I also did my CCP class here!
The ABSOLUTE WORST customer service. Their employees are extremely rude, non-informative, and hardly comprehend Michigans gun laws. Ive been to pretty much every gun shop in a 10 mile radius from me, and this one was so horrible I actually felt compelled to write my first google review on them. Reading everyone else experience with them... its a wonder theyre still in business.
Reasonable prices, poor service. They also make you do a background check for all firearms even when you have a cpl, i was told this is ismply their policy(so it takes much longer, more annoying than anything).Bought a new glock from them, went and immediately shot it. Had multiple failures to feed. Took it right up to the counter and told them what happened. You would have thought i took a dump on their counter. Could not have been any more dismissive, condescending and rude to me. The only reaso they even get 2 stars is that their prices are good and they offer leo/first responder discount programs.
Great prices, PEOPLE, and pistols! Im not sure why people are having such a bad time here. I go in for ammo and stay for almost an hour. NOT B/C OF SLOW OR POOR SERVICE, b/c I enjoy the staff so darn much. Where youre reading that the staff is rude or arrogant some of these guys (and gals) just have a dry sense of humor. Go in light hearted and not so sensitive and youll see. Theyre a pack of fun loving people...
Rude people. If you are not in law enforcement, you are treated like crap. I would spend $100 more elsewhere than deal with these people. That isnt necessary as their prices are higher than most everyone else. They even mark up LE law enforcement discounts above what the manufacturers price list calls for.Their rude treatment has cost them over $2000 in sales from me alone. From the other reviews, we were not the only ones treated badly. Think of the sales lost. Not a good business practice.
I have never had a good experience here. Went there initially to purchase a firearm. I knew exactly what I wanted. And, although it was .22 handgun, it was still a purchase. The guy had to keep his giggle back when I told him I wanted a .22. It didnt matter or was none of his business that it was for my daughter who wishes to learn more about firearms and how to shoot. He thought I should have been looking to buy some hand-canon instead. And yes Don as stated by a previous poster is one arrogant guy. Went back to get ammo for the .22, which they didnt have for carry-out but would sell me ammo if I was going to use the range. I asked for advise on a spray type cleaner for the gun. His response: yeah, its somewhere over there on the shelf in a black & yellow can. All while reclined back iin a chair behind the counter. But, when one of his buddies came in to talk he couldnt wait to get off his fat butt and talk about whatever, while dropping F-bombs every other word. They can do this because the demand now is so high for firearms and ammo. So, I guess they figure, why do I have to be nice if they have to come and see me anyway. Well, not that they are going to miss my sale, but I will never go back again.
Dont bother with this gun shop. I placed a special order on a S&W .454 in march for a trip to Alaska in august and to take advantage of the LE pricing. Every time I called to check on order status I got the run around. I asked to speak to Robin the Manager I place the order with only to be told she was too busy. Nobody knows what the status is, nobody calls you back. So I bought one special ordered through the Selfridge Air Base shop. Paid a bit more but at least I was able to obtain the weapon I wanted for back country trip.I did get the sales push on another firearm that I didnt want from some guy who didnt know what he was talking aboutAs a former combat vet and LEO buying firearms and accessories at various gun shops all over the US, Ive never come across a more dont give a $hit attitude gun store.
My favorite gun shop period. My money has a will remain here. I appreciate the friendly service. They take the time out to speak to not just me but my wife also. Joe, larry, Bubba, al and whom ever i failed to mention in this review thank you all for being so kind to my family and i. See you and my canik tp9sfx soon.
The people that work there are very rude and dont seem to want to give you any help. the lady at the register is always rude and acts like she dont stand her job if so dont work there. and as far as there new policy they wont sell any ammo unless you shoot there is BS, the customer is good enough to pay 6-700.00 for a gun which i have bought 2 from there, but when it comes to buying ammo they wont let you..they have lost my business and wont be going there again along with at least 20 others i know.
I have been ignored in the past when I came in looking to buy a Kimber (and you know they arent cheap) Maybe they were busy....because I have not had this issue since that day. I ended up going to Cabellas in Milan and buying it from them. That being said ....the range is close by and convenient. I go in and used the range by myself no problems...and with my dad no problems.I took a friends bachelorette party to the range.. (maybe 5 other women) with little to no gun experience. They were really nice and asked if we needed someone to assist in the range. My dad & I told them we were fine ..since he was going to take one lane and I was going to take the other lane. They didnt hound us to rent any guns...we had a variety of handguns with us. It was a good experience.
Not exactly a fan of this place due to the attitude I get from some of the employees there and the price gouging that appears to be a thing here. The firing range is fine to use but I really dont recommend anything else from here, plus bring your own fire arm in cause the guns there jam alot
Im a veteran from the united states army and i went in to shoot and possibly buy a pretty expensive firearm and when i went in because i look young they didnt give me the time of day and just kept talking to eachother and didnt show me the respect i deserve, because of this they lost out on a big sale that day. This isnt my first incident with them either. The shooting range customer service was great however the sales customer service is awful. no wonder this place gets a 3 star review.
Firing line has a nice facility with a lot of shooting lanes. They also have a nice selection of guns for sale and rent.Their staff however, leaves a lot to be desired. For the most part they are rude and unhelpful, even to paying customers. Most of the time theyre too busy talking to each other or their friends who seem to hang out there constantly to help you if you need something.I also dont like that you cant shoot rifles and handguns on the same range, so if you want to shoot both, you have to pay for two different lanes. They also wont let you bring your own rifle ammunition to shoot there, so you have to buy theirs (which is overpriced). All in all, there are better places to shoot not too far away, so Firing Line would not be my first choice.
About 12 bucks to shoot for 30 min is a bit much. They have a decent little selections of pistols to rent. Ammo prices are raised a bit but for the most part havent had issues. Only issue we had was they gave us .45 acp ammo when I specifically requested .45 long colt. They did not have moon clips to hold in the .45 acp for the judge. The ginger haired woman refused to understand the situation. Once a shell got jammed in the cylinder, somebody with actual knowledge of guns came over. He saw what the issue was, and brought myself a governor with the correct ammo.
Fantastic service. Knowledgeable guys and gals..nice range. Good prices on rifles and pistols.. bought several from them. $40 transfer fees from internet bought and transferred items, $20 for second item in same transaction.. they have a silencershop kiosk for nfa items.
The Firing Line is the closet range to my place of employment and it is my go to range. I am a regular there and have gotten to know the staff well by now. I must say that they have been pleasant from the very beginning and have helped me with some minor side work here and there. They also offer the largest number of pistol lanes and will do their best to accomodate you when the range is busy. Selection of products is also great. I have no quams and consider The Firing Line good to go in my book.
These guys are rude! I wouldnt spend a dime there, You call and they are upset that a customer is calling. You arent the only business in town Flyold.I decided to give them another try went back to the store two weeks ago, what a differnce from my last visit. Joe is very knowledgeable and knows what customer service means.Would be nice to have a numbering system to know what customers are waiting for service so your not overlook while waiting.
First time at the range.. cant buy 9mm ammo because I am not 21... ok? How am i legally able to obtain a handgun and not be able to buy ammo to train with it? Not going to argue about it. Decided to just shoot my rifle instead.. but wait! Cant use my cheap TulAmmo! had to pay a ridiculous amount for their 5.56 ammo and it wasnt even quality. Failed to fire 3-4 times (And no it was not my rifle). My cheap TulAmmo was more quality than their overpriced ammo. Store looked nice and will probably only go back to purchase a firearm or accessory. Only positive thing about the range was that they had 3 50 yard lanes. other than that, nothing special or worth coming back for. Ill stick to Top Gun where they allow me to train with my handgun.
Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. They are not commission based and follow a no pressure sales approach. Matt went above and beyond to help me even after he knew I was not purchasing that day. Pricing is the best around and even better than most online suppliers!!!
The old Firing line employees was so nice and old respectful expert people , since the retired officer bought the store he turn it to police station !! they look at you as suspect !! talking to you rude way !!I start ordering my gun from online (gunbroker) and save money and my dignity !!
I just bought a henry goldenboy 22 rifle and these guys were wayyy nice to me..from when I came in and shopped for cases, had questions about transportation for hunting, ear protection, ect. Great service and fair price. I had purchased a 15-22 in the past and they were great then too. I live in Royal Oak but would most def travel to Westland since everyone there was nice, professional and helpful.
My cousin and I went here to shoot our rifles. My cousins name is Mohamad and he looks very, very Arab. Dark hair, eyes, well kept beard. The girl working behind the counter literally walked away from the line to go get her manager / owner to come and question us before we were allowed to go in and shoot. At the time I thought it was ignorant but still laughed it off...after reading these reviews, not so much. F this place and their staff.
Somebody please tell me why I have been harassed on 2 separate occasions by this place for asking to look at handguns with a safety. When asking if a specific gun could be ordered with a safety, on the phone, I was actually told by someone that since Im in the military I shouldnt need a safety because, and I quote, navy seals dont even use a safetyHe also told me I shouldnt be buying a ruger if Im in the military.I gave it another shot and came in and asked to look at handguns with safetys and was berated with a line of questioning similar to that of a small child,I would prefer to see something with a safetyWhy?I would feel more comfortableWhy?To the point of an argument as I walked out the door.I drove down to Action Impact where the store sales person familiarized me with different types of handguns with safetys and explained the safety mechanisms of each gun. He was very polite and informative.Do not recommend this place.
Ive never walked inside and had anyone offer to help, see if I need anything or simply say hello. It never happens. Then when I approach someone with questions I feel rushed. Like Im wasting their time with my nonsense. Their customer service reminds me of that of the Secretary of state or the Detroit police department. Horrible. Ill go somewhere more personable and friendly with a drive to help their customers instead.
I go to FiringLine all the time and I give them tons of money and my business. Well today I go in and was disrespected by Floyd insulting me as a person and insulting my disability’s. They are a bunch of pompous assh*les and they acted all hard because they’re retired Westland Police which are a bunch of d*cks as well. They insult all their customers all the time and nothing gets done. I’m reporting them to Fox 2 news and will tell and my law enforcement friends take their business else where. Nothing but total garage
Another review said The sales people here are some of the rudest and most arrogant people you will ever meet. Could not be more in agreement!!!!! Have purchased two firearms from them in the past, but last few visits have been dreadful. Prices are MSRP or higher, customer service is provided by some grumpy old x-cops (its this way or get the %#@$ out) types, and Ammo is way high!!! Change in ownership or management or something. I Won’t be back. There are a lot of new shops opening up. I’ll try somewhere else and I think you should too.
Came here for a first experience and it will be my last. As this was my first time shooting at a range, when i was practicing i shot the wall up top from the target and a employee that was back there helping others started yelling at me and my friend about i could damage the line and he would be down a line?isnt this a gun range!??? There were plenty of holes on the wall from others missing the target. Then he says we have to pay a fine! Aside from that my friend tried to explain this was my first time so im not an expert! We paid the fine (10.00) on top of our session, the thing that bothered me the most was how we were treated.
3 to 5 business days for an online transfer..After they recieve it.. unheard of! Happy i called first! Background checks take 15 mins. Mostly all companies offer same day service. I wouldnt waste my time or money until they step there game up. Seriously , this is 2020! Laziness maybe..... idk!
Where do I start? When I asked for a specific item... the big guy behind the counter didnt seem like he wanted to be bothered. He lumbered to the shelf and said they didnt have any. After asking if they expect any in... let me say that he needs some people skills. He might know about other things.... but surely turned me off and I will never return. As I drove home I thought about how he treated me as a potential PAYING customer. I couldnt understand how they would put a guy behind the counter to treat their customers so poorly!
Went there last nite 5-30-17. At 8:40 pm. When I opened the door , it looked like half the staff was at the door leaving. Someone then said we are about to close. I looked at my phone and it said 8:40. I thought, ok in 20 minutes they are closing. Their website said they closed at 9:00. As I continued entering , a real big guy said. We are closed, it was slow tonight.. I believe it was the owner. I said its only 8:40. So I asked could go look at something very quickly and his response was no, you can come back tomorrow. Well, I will not return. They might not feel like being open during THEIR open for business hours. My time is valuable. I will spend my money somewhere else. So to the owner, I understand leaving early. Let your staff go and YOU hang around and honor the written store hours or change them on the website. This is rude and disrespectful to your customers. Who are bring their hard earned money to YOU. But based on your demeanor, I really dont think you care. I wont come back tomorrow!!!!!!!
AwfulCalled and was hung up on abruptly before I could finish my question. In store was worse. Alpha male egotistical staff. They work selling guns and managing a range, they act like wardens at a prison. Strap a gun on their hip and become superior beings. They make you feel as they are doing you the favor by letting you buy their products. Horrible
I am 17 years old and so was my buddy.I am Active duty Army(Infantry recruit)My buddy is in the Police departmentWe both where denied access to the rifle range because we didnt have proof of a hunting safety course (I didnt have proof but I do hunt and have previous years of unused kill tags but I didnt have them with me) I understand the proof of hunting safety is for my own safety and an insurance policy but I felt disrespected as an active member of the US Army. I also had all the proof I was in the Army and what MOS I am but was still denied access. And my buddy also had his Police ID.
Steve Gregory, Mike P - No doubt you are being truthful.I have been going for 14 years and have watch the customer service disappear. It happened before they moved locations but I hoped the new place would suit their needs and ultimately mine better. This was not the case. The service has deteriorated to the point, that my free range time pass will go unused. The staff is not knowledgeable about ballistics of projectiles, nor in the engineering of firearms. The have said over the years things that make me cringe. Short barrel ballistics - Without special ammo for short barrels, the bullet exits the barrel so fast it can bounce off your attacker if he is wearing so little as a t-shirt. So fast its slow?? It is not for reduced flash?? 10 years ago guys routinely bounced 357 magnums off their chest if fired from a snub nose??Dry Fire - No gun is made to be dry fired. They dont know how to design the firing pin to withstand that amount of force. Stress = Force / Area. Increase area until stress is under endurance limit?? Stress concentration problem - increase fillet size?? No engineer can solve this problem??Basically I cant take the stupidity any longer, because it is not offset by courteous service. Do not recommend spending money or valuing their opinion.
Rifle range serves its purpose. Got kicked off when I needed to pay for more time during a rifle sight in. Made the last adjustment and couldnt take my last grouping. Pistol range is standard. Unless I need to do rifle Ill go elsewhere. Counter girl told the customer on the phone that she was busy so if they were done asking questions she has to hang up. Could have transferred the call to another employee or put her on hold.
Had a few bad experiences here but decided to give it another shot. Came in early around 11AM or so and Joe was great to work with. The whole morning staff seemed much better overall than the afternoon shift who give this place a bad rep. Would reccomend this place but would advise to visit earlier if you want good service.
Will never return here. The employees must either hate the owner or hate their lives. Most miserable group of unhelpful people Ive ever encountered in real life. I swore for a second I might have been on candid camera. These people make it clear they want you to leave and you are not welcomed. The newness and location of this facility are only thing keeping it open. I was warned about this place too. Please save yourself the aggravation. Go anywhere else....
Called sales to see if two certain items were in stock rather than driving up. The man who answered was rude and offered zero help, this person even hung up on me. I will not be spending any more money with the place better smaller shops in the area that are minus the attitude.
First time ever shooting a gun they just give me a tub with ear muffs, eye protection, and a gun that I DID NOT PICK. I asked if they could just show me the basics and the tall guy laughed in my face.. talk about being humiliated ... I got a free rental and free range time but all that was not worth it! I have never felt like an peace or garbage untill I walked into this place. So needles to say I had to go into the range not knowing gun safty, gun knowledge.. DO NOT come here if your new to shooting. Take your love for the sport some were els that will respect you
Just left here having sights installed. Gun was oily so didnt see it in the store. Get home wipe off all the excess and see that they totally cracked my slide on both sides!!! How do you manage to crack a stainless steel slide?!?! Only have 100 rounds thru this pistol and the finish is ruined!
First off this place closes a hour earlier than competition ranges. The staff is rude and unless your friends with them they treat you as a nobody. Range closes at 7, but as Im walking out Im hearing gun shots go off. Just save your money and time and just go to top gun.
Terrible, lazy and rude employees. I called looking for a particular handgun and they told me to come in and they can order the gun I wanted. So I drove 40 minutes to be told by 1 of 5 employees watching tv, that they actually cant order it for me. Dont waste your time here.
Once again horrible service.(not like it suprised me)Will not be coming back for range use or purchasing, sad part is I came in ready to spend some serious money but they wouldnt know because they didnt give me the time of day. Ill take my business to Center Mass were the employees treat you like people.
I really wanted to like this place, as it is nearby. But Im going to have to agree with all the other reviews. This range has horrible service. Ive only been there about 2-3 times, but each time I hear some staff member bad mouthing customers. It took me forever to be helped and when I finally went shooting, staff forgot to turn on ventilation for me.
I received word of a sale, called to confirm the sale and was told the pertinent details. Showed up at the prescribed time to patronize the business and capitalize, and they renig. First by acting like they didnt know what I was talking about and then by simply refusing to honor the deal. Thanks for wasting my time and being an snotty about it. Go drink some cranberry juice.

2022-03-27Excellent class. Karl was very informative. Very interactive with the class. Kept us engaged with laughter here in there but also explained the seriousness of our decision to carry concealed! Class was a nice size making it easy for us to get one on one time for questions. The virtual range is a must see! It was also a great experience! THUMBS UP

2022-05-17Went in just to browse to pass some time, started chatting with one of the guys, ended up finding one of my wishlist items they had there on consignment. Friendly, knowledgeable, asked if I needed any help several times by staff. Will definitely visit again!

2022-04-09Just finished taking the, “First time shooters class” with my fiancé and it was an awesome experience. Our instructor Dan was incredible as he was very patient, knowledgeable, and took gun safety very seriously. Leaving that class had my fiancé and I both feeling confident to check and shoot a gun on our own now, plus Dan got some awesome pictures of us with our phone so that was a bonus. If you are new to shooting then go take this class with Dan, the man!

2022-03-26We bought the Groupon Firing line for four people, however we were give only two pistols instead of four as described and at first they tried to give us only one box of ammo but then gave us the second only after talking to them. Also we arrived at 5pm and we were given 30 minutes instead of the full hour. I guess they dont honor their Groupon sells

2021-12-15I came into the store today and I gotta say, it seems there employees are short and kinda rude. To many places to spend your money and feel welcomed, well I figured I would try going in the store one more time… and sure enough the same guy Dave that works the gun counter was a complete a**hole again. Get rid of Dave he’s hurting your guys business!! Oh yeah and I came in to purchase a sig rattler but a $2500 sale means nothing to him
