Comment: Me and my sister contacted Kia of Simi Valley on Sunday, April 21st. The salesmens who picked up the phone was Josh, a very nice and polite guy.I told Josh about the car that Im looking for and I told him that I have willing to pay $5,000 down payment and $600 for sixty months financing (out the door).I explained to him that I need all the numbers prior to me coming to the dealer at Simi valley.Josh took the time to check, and he called me back saying I have a great news for you. We can give it to you for the $600 with the $5,000 down. Just come over. I said grate and made an appointment with him.At the appointment they increased the number of payments/months to 84 at $600 a month and the Manager JOHNNY KIA said that he was next to josh when I called the dealership and I never said 60 months, which was clearly a lie!! because they record the calls (I will get back to that). JOHNNY started all is sales pitch on us and why we are not understanding, and he give us the car at no profit, and 84 month is what everybody doing etc. etc.The deal that he was offering after he worked so hard, I already got from a different kia dealer without any negotiation.Once I realized the game they were playing, I understudy that we cannot buy the car from them.I don’t mind if the deal that I was asking is not doable for them, then they just needed to say, no we can’t, and I wouldn’t lose my day of work and drive all the way from Tarzana to simi valley and back.40 minutes after I left the dealer, I received a call from JOSH, and he was telling me that he listened to the recorded call and that it was 60 months!!!

Comment: *DO NOT GET YOUR CAR SERVICED HERE AND IF YOU CAN HELP IT, DO NOT BUY A KIA*If I could give negative stars I would.TL;DR: My mom serviced her car here, received it with missing paint. Doug and his manager, Guy gave us awful customer service. Still not resolved and we are frustrated.I took my mom to get her 2013 Kia Sorento (~64,000 miles) serviced in the afternoon of Feb 21. Her car was to have an oil change, brakes replaced and tire rotation. Doug Mcintosh was our service attendant and seemed nice enough. His pre-inspection check consisted of him walking around the car. He didnt point out anything out of the ordinary. He said to be back in a few hours and we did. We went to watch a movie to escape the rain while we waited. It wasnt until the next day that we noticed that the A pillar of the windshield was completely missing about a foot long piece of paint. I immediately called Doug and he said he had noted the missing paint during pre-inspection and that he would send me a copy of that paperwork. He never did. My mom spoke to the service manager, Guy. Over the phone, Guy claimed that the car was like that before the service and had pictures to prove it.Meanwhile, I called Doug and he claimed that peeling paint is COMMON on Kias and that he didnt know how the paint just went missing. He literally told me that maybe someone spilled acid on my moms car! What?!!! Lol! I asked him if they used a pressure hose on the vehicle to wash it. If they used too much pressure then its a plausible reason for the missing paint. He said the car wasnt washed and that he didnt authorize any wash. I know for a fact that the car was washed because it had been raining that day and the streaks from the windshield wipers were gone. It was at this point that said he was new to the business and if the car was washed, he didnt know what kind of hose they had in the back. Finally, he said he didnt want to get in the middle of everything and that my mom was already talking with Guy and that it was out of his hands.So back to Guy... when my mom went to meet him, he apparently didnt have any pictures after all. He couldnt supply us with ANY proof that the car was already missing this paint before the service. He said that he had left a voice message to a male (me) on Tuesday, Feb 19 to tell me about the missing paint. I never spoke to Guy. I never received a message from Guy. Since, of course, the car was serviced on THURSDAY, Feb 21 and at that time Kia didnt have my phone number! Oh, did I also mention I was out of the state on Tuesday?!! For completeness, I did give Doug my phone number for that service paperwork he never gave me.At this point my mom was frustrated and left. I called Guy myself on Friday, Feb 22, asking him to call me to talk about all this. No response, so I left him a message. I called again on Saturday, Feb 23. No response again and another message.It is clear that the service department at Kia does not want to claim responsibility, but whats even worse is their customer service. As I reflect on our experience here, I have had other vehicles serviced at Toyota and Chrysler dealerships and during pre-inspection Im always told of the damage thats on my car prior to service. Furthermore, I expected at least a phone call from their service manager to least discuss the situation. Every contact weve had with this dealership about this issue has been awful. If Doug and Guy are representative of the entire staff at this Kia then I can only conclude that this Kia dealership is inept, doesnt care about their customers, and flat out likes to cover up their mistakes. My mom has had a Kia for the better part of 12 years, after this experience I am doubtful her next car will be a Kia.

Comment: This may be a bit long but its necessary. I have had a couple of questionable experiences in the past over petty issues. This is not one of them.My car had a rather serious issue that couldve resulted in engine replacement. A bit of a nightmare for any car owner. When I first started calling around I was told that it would take a least 3 weeks to get my car in to even have it diagnosed. In steps Brian.From the minute he was on board everything went smooth. My car was in their care in less than 3 days and he was in CONSTANT contact with me giving me updates and keeping me very well informed the entire time it was there. I felt heard and taken care of. Repairs were done quickly with zero hassle. I just got my back today with all the proper repairs as well as my faith in this shop COMPLETELY restored.Thank you Brian. You are a prime example of what customer service should look like.

Comment: Had my car towed there because it wouldn’t start, there was corrosion on the battery. I had a 16,000 mi service scheduled for the following day. So I brought it a day early so they had time to work on the battery issue as well. First question was “where did you buy your car” when I said Van Nuys, the second question was “why didn’t you bring it there?” Last time I checked you don’t have to bring your car back to where you purchased it for service or warranty issues. The service manager is a real piece of work and needs to be retrained on how service works. His lack of respect for the customer shines bright. He is argumentative and told me multiple times to bring it back to where u bought it. He said the service technician couldn’t recreate the issue with my battery and told me my case was closed and to pick up my vehicle. Only to get there and my 16,000 mi service had not been completed. I asked to look at the battery together, of which you can clearly see something had been sprayed all over my battery terminals. They said they don’t have any anti corrosive spray on site so it must have been sprayed from the other dealership at my last service. Thankfully I took pictures before I brought it in. You can clearly see the corrosion and the spray that was done at the dealership. Would not recommend this dealership or their service. They lie and make more problems for you.

From picking out the car to sitting and talking numbers. I never felt pressured or felt like they were upset by our negotiations. We laughed as we went back and forth. They were all so polite. Offered water and popcorn. It didn’t feel like a transaction but more like a conversation. I got a great deal and best of all I left happy with their customer service. I wondered why and then I got the report from the service department. They put 2 nails in my tire and tried to sell me triple the price for the tires. Glad I have Sam’s club. Also I told them about my tire pressure system not correct but instead of them checking that they pop up I need a new battery. I made a mistake buying from them but I only make mistakes once. Comment: The service was horrible. Went in because my usb port in my EV6 was not working. After I dropped it off got a called from them saying their tech plugged his phone in and the charging and Apple CarPlay was working fine and then when I went to pick it up had the tech plug his phone and he could not get it to work. Then they tried to tell me that it was probably not covered under the warranty. The tech and the service rep were idiots and the whole time I was with them and they were trying to get it to work in front of me took over ten minutes and I was telling them to there face that I had told them it was working intermittently and they tried to charge me for it. I will never go back to them for service again. They even tried to tell me it was working because it was playing music and I had to tell their tech who should know that the music was playing through the Bluetooth connection not the Apple CarPlay.

Comment: I recently had my 2014 Kia Optima serviced for a manufacturer recall and needed a diagnosis for the air conditioner not blowing cold air. I was told that the compressor was not functioning at an optimal percentage and the recommendation was to have the part replaced. I was provided a quote which included their standard fee for the diagnosis of the problem minus the tax on parts. I decided to proceed with the repair. However, upon arriving to pick up my vehicle, I was told that there was an error with the original quote and the labor was not factored into the final price. I was obviously not thrilled about this and Oscar Robles was kind enough to right the situation and provided me a reasonable solution to the error. Oscar was very thorough and professional throughout the whole ordeal and made me feel as though he was doing everything he could to make me happy. Even though this was a frustrating situation, I left feeling well taken care of and my air conditioner is running perfect. Thank you Oscar!

The salesman was rude, impatient and not professional. On top of that, 4 other Kia locations I spoke with told me it costs $500 to reserve a car and you get your money back if you don’t take the car, here (in an of course rude tone) he told us it’s $1,000 and not a full refund. When I tried explaining that’s not what I was told on the phone or by other 4 Kia dealerships nearby he just kept saying, well that’s how we do it here. We left. Our money will go somewhere else!

Comment: I wouldn’t trust these people as far as I can throw my car. I’ve come here twice and the service tech was extremely rude to me both times, and refused to look at my car. I have a warranty that states I can come to any Kia (took this to both my lawyer and the original dealership later that day to verify this- the service manager at Simi’s Kia kept trying to say that wasn’t the case and that they wouldn’t touch my car, but it is) and they literally refused to even look at some problems that took 20 minutes to fix at another dealership. Don’t go here if you aren’t prepared to be taken for every penny they think you’re worth.

Our last lease with Subaru was up after we had extended for six months, and everywhere we looked we were essentially doubling or even tripling the price we had paid.Justin worked with me and got VERY creative about turning in my old lease and using the value it built in this crazy used car market toward my down payment. It made the entire cost of my lease barely more than the great deal I got almost four years ago.Very happy with our purchase!My only constructive criticism is that Ive been a long term leaser. This is the first 3-year lease Ive had that didnt include at least two years of service included. Its a perk Ive come to expect, but certainly not a dealbreaker.

Comment: Update: 10/31/2021Both the First Kia Service department and Kia itself really went above and beyond to take care of us. Our 9-year, 11-month old Kia Optimas engine seized 1 month before the 10 year powertrain warranty was due to expire.The service department went to bat for us and worked with Kia to file a claim and replace the engine in our Kia. First Kia also replaced the starter and intake manifold due to their being collateral damage to the engines seizure. Kia also paid for a rental car for us for the duration of the repair, which took several weeks.I also bought 4 new tires and did an alignment on the car, and I added new brakes. We not only got our Optima back, it was like a new car! Were so grateful for your assistance! First Kias Service department has always been fair to us and weve never taken our car anywhere else. I highly recommend them, even if you dont own a Kia.______________________________________________________________________I used the late-night drop-off and pick-up options that First Kia offers, as theyre very convenient for me to not have to wait for longer service appointments. I was kept apprised via text and phone of when service started, any issues encountered, and suggestions for repair.I had 2 recalls done, and they noted after an inspection that my front end was outside of their recommended alignment parameters. In fact, the car was pulling to one side, and the steering wheel also vibrated at high speeds. I intended to do this work at a specialty shop, but when they quoted me competitive rates for the alignment and tire rebalancing, I went ahead with those repairs, too. I was able to view an invoice online and pay online, too, which meant that I only needed to sign and pick up the key during pick-up. I highly recommend First Kia for your service needs for their honesty, diligence and service.

Comment: DONT GET THE CILAJET!!! Salesman added the extended warrantee and Cilajet finish to the contract without consulting me. I caught it just before signing. Salesmans response was these are things we highly encourage our customers to have. There was no encouraging, just an attempt to slip it by me. I told him to take them off. He insisted the Cilajet finish was a great deal. Said it covered a host of issues with paint, such as damage from bird droppings, water spots, rust, AND MINOR CHIPPING!!!!! It does not cover minor chipping, even if its the size of a pencil eraser. He even used the scenario of driving down the highway and a rock or pebble hits my car and chips the paint. You call Cilajet and they fix it no questions asked, just like that. Turns out thats not how it works, and he convinced me to spend $2,000 on this.

I look for honesty and quality service. Kia posts vehicles on auto trader (as many others do) then upon referencing the stock # for the advertised vehicle, refuses to honor their advertised price. This is the first time Ive run into this. Beware and stay away!! I don’t think the people who are giving good reviews have done diligent research or just believe the dealerships reasoning. But this is not the norm and not okay.

They would not meet the trade-in price we were offered from CarMax. We really wanted to buy a new car here, but there was no discussion or movement on her trade-in. I have bought many cars in my lifetime and this experience was so bad. I know the car business is hopping, but the car we wanted was a 2020 that the salesman said they needed to move out. Some amount of negotiation should have taken place. But, no. We left and went back to CarMax and got her an excellent deal on a gently used car. Never again and no need to contact me. Our deal is done. I will not recommend this dealership to anyone, not because they didnt even work with us, but because all they wanted from the get-go was to talk money. Didnt just let us wander around and discuss as a family. Yuck.

After we came back we had to wait for some more time and after that, they told us we cant have the test ride unless we are going to buy the vehicle that day. He pointed out all the features and answered all my questions, without any pressure when I left. As Josh predicted, I loved the Sportage and when I was ready to make a deal the next day, he was fair and honest. It was refreshing to deal with a straightforward salesperson. I left with a beautiful new car and feel really good about the deal we made. Oh, and when I realized I had left an important item in my trade-in, I texted Josh on his day off and he made sure I got it back within minutes. All the people at Kia were friendly and helpful, so I have a feeling my year of free oil changes and any service needs will also be positive experiences. Thumbs up all around!

Also after a day or so once you are done with the service, you will get another automated text message asking how their service went out.I responded to the text how I experienced with improvement area that I felt. However they never contacted me back on any of my comments, which made me feel this system was just there for “showing off”, instead of getting actual feedback from their customers to improve their quality of service.Service lounge is cozy and filled with complimentary water bottles and hot beverage vending machine, which is not bad (not sure if they provide WiFi to the waiting customers), but again their customer feedback system needs to be improved.

I went in to First Kia for them to take a look at what I would need to fix my car and replace my windshield. The parts manager was patient, came out and wrote down all the parts I would need, looked everything up and gave me a professional written quote. At no point did I feel like he was pushing me to buy something. The service gentleman was nice and professional too. He explained what I would need to do to install a front license plate bracket. It seems like a good, professional dealer. I will definitely be back when my car needs service or parts.

It was around 25K miles, and I only done oil changes for it prior to that, so it was due for a check of all its components.Oil change and recall fix were completed.However, it turned out the mechanics only did a simple quick check (fluids, tire pressure, air filter and such - something I can do myself).So now I still have to go through the proper checks procedures again...Also their garage is very open, which lets all the dirt and debris blown inside while they worked on my car (i saw that on my dashcam footage).Definitely not recommending their service department.I would go to a different Kia dealer, who pays more attention and cares more for their work.

We had purchased a warranty through 1st Kia and scheduled an appointment to have it looked at. The wait was about 3 weeks but I could understand that they were busy. However It turns out that they do not service Hyundai and in order to get the vehicle serviced we needed to take it to a Hyundai dealership. This was never mentioned during the buying process or when we scheduled the appointment. So now we need to find a dealership, schedule another service appointment and take another day off of work in order to get the vehicle fixed. In the meantime the car will be sitting in the driveway. Had we known this, or the fact that the vehicle was a rental prior to us buying it we would have chosen a different car. Needless to say, Im extremely frustrated. They may treat Kia owners differently, however I would not recommend buying a used car from them.

I didnt NEED a car, but if the price was good.. my experience over all was fantastic, I had Jonathan as my sales rep both times (when I initially looked and when I came back to purchase). The receipt shows it was completed by 11:30, the customer service was disappointing, not welcoming to the customers, didnt offer the waiting room dont even know if there was one. I was stranded in Simi Valley from 8-3p.m until my car was completed. My car wasnt even washed or vaccumed as a courtesy. The rotors are glazed all the way around and need to be replaced (800$ repair and they said the breaks were recently done). If the car you are interested has an advertised rebate, make sure you get that rebate that same day or dont make a deal with them because you probably wont see it if you wait 7-10 business days.I bought a vehicle from this establishment this past December and I was promised by an employee of this business that I would get my rebate within 7-10 business days of buying the vehicle. Its been a month and I still have no rebate. Ive had to call several times to get updates and Gary, the Sales Manager, is either not available and when he is, he has another employee talk to me rather than speaking to me directly. I am starting to believe I wont be getting this rebate because I keep getting the run-around. I finally got the chance to speak with Gary directly (after I demanded that the sales guy I was talking to let me speak with him). Gary told me he had told me many times that I would be getting my rebate (his tone of voice implying that I was a nuisance and a waste of his time) but he just didnt know when because First KIA doesnt fund rebates. He said that KIA funds the rebates directly. This is totally understandable, however this information would have been useful to know PRIOR to purchasing the vehicle. Instead, I was told by Henry, their finance guy, that I would be getting a check in the mail within 7-10 days of purchasing the vehicle. When I told Gary that I had been promised a rebate within this time frame, he said he never made such promise and he didnt know why Henry had said that.I am very disappointed in the customer service at First KIA since my experience with the other First Auto Groups has been nothing but exceptional. Getting laughed at by a member of the Sales Team is unacceptable and definitely not appreciated. First KIA, this may not mean anything to you, but you lost a customer and i will make sure to tell everyone I know about my negative experience.

I was shown a car that was price marked at $13,999 but the salesman, Darcel, told me that a guy came by the other day and negotiated the car to $10,999. It was a little outside my range, however, this is the pricing we had discussed throughout test-driving and even in front of his manager, Robert (I believe his name was). We left our conversation talking about this car at the price of $10,999. I had planned to come in today to purchase the car when I receive a text from Darcel that the best pricing they could do was $12,900.....Now, I am being asked to come in, to talk to the GM about the pricing and why they cannot offer to me at that price ($10,999). My question is... why were they able to drop it down to 10,999 for a guy the other day but now only be able to offer it to me at 12,900? This whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. I recommend going avoiding Nissan, Kia, and Honda in Simi since they are all connected.

They were not willing to negotiate whatsoever and attempted to avoid any of the manufacturer promotions that were going on. It was a big waste of time and am sorry I went there. In addition they put multiple requests in for high interest rate loanso instead of using the promotion through Kia. They have now messed up my credit and Im getting mail from multiple credit unions mentioning 9% interests rates that I did not consent to. My score has already dropped almost 30 points due to their unauthorized credit applications to outside financing companies. At downtown la Kia I got the Kia financing promotion of 0% April no questions no hassle. Be careful if you shop at first Kia they are shady.

He would not accept my pre approval letter from a federal credit union and was telling me I had to use a co-signer so I left and drove an hour and half back home and waited for the weekend to end so I could have my bank call and fix it. I finally bought the car. I waited for my plates and registration for almost six months to come in. I called the dealership multiple times, I got hung up on, sent to voicemails that were never returned or something of the sort. Finally I find out that they hadnt filed my paper work yet (five months laters!) and after all the pestering it finally got finished. When I received my plates in the mail they were sent to my old address. The manager had changed it on my paperwork to match my license even after I explained I had just moved and no longer lived there. I didnt even bother to fix it through them I went willingly to the DMV to get it done the right way.

So I called for an appointment to come check it out, and right away from over the phone Eian sounded like a good guy and was very helpful with setting up a time. Went in a few days later and met with Eian and took care of me and helped me reach the best deal I could with my purchase. Thanks man!

Comment: My most recent visit of 1st KIA was about my 15,000 miles service on my 2014 Optima SX Turbo. This was the best experience that I ever had servicing a vehicle at ANY dealership ever. The best ting about it is that having visited 1st KIA for service 3 times now, the best in my description of the experience keeps repeating itself over and over again, it sort-of becomes the norm rather than the exception. Im really getting spoiled by this place! The place is unreal.

Comment: Went by First Kia on a Wednesday and looked at new Optimas. I told Marlon I would be back Saturday morning to test drive. When I arrived Saturday morning, Marlon was there and there were two brand new Optimas waiting for us. After test driving them both, I decided on which model would suit me better, the EX with Navigation and SiriusXM. Within an hour I was in finance and leaving the dealership. The entire transaction took less than an hour and forty five minutes. It was sensational. So much so that my wife went back the following day and bought a brand new KIA Forte EX. Marlon is exceptional employee and great sales person. I recommended the dealership to some friends and they too bought two vehicles from Marlon at First KIA. Great store, great people and I will definitely go back when its time to get a new car and get my service done...great job Marlon!
