Comment: Poor customer service, longtime repair and very shady businessI got rear-ended on Jan 15th, contacted my insurance ( Farmers ) and they recommendedFix Auto Escondido to take my car for repair. Wish I’ve never done that.Claudia came out, introduced herself and explained that they would take everything apartand would give estimate of repair by the next couple days.I did not hear back from her for a whole week, then I called and she said” oh I was aboutto call you” so she explained the damage to the car and she said the estimated cost isabout $12K and would take about 15 weeks!!The insurance company covered only 20 days of rental. What was I going to do for therest of the 15 weeks? I went back and forth with her, but I got to a point that I waswasting my time as she did not understand, or she did not basically care.After going back and forth several times with my insurance company, my insuranceagent, recommended that if I could find another repair shop who could get the repairdone quicker, we could pull the car out and took it there, but since they had started therepair, nobody else would touch her.I got the estimated repair cost and time from my insurance agent which was generatedby Claudia at 2/9/2024 10:38:54 AM, $12114.02 and 94.2 hours of labor, she hasalready confirmed at that time they have ordered all the parts and have them all at therepair shop.So, I called her and asked her since they have all the parts and with the estimation of 94hours of labor, so where is that 15 weeks come from? She denied that and she kepttelling me that it was a big repair and could not be done sooner.In mid-April, they called and said the car was ready. I was not able to pick up the car tillmid-May, so I went in there, the lady behind the counter asked me to sign the paperwork and asked me to pay the deduction asked if I could see the car first.My dad and I went outside and met the general manager, he was showing us the back ofthe car and explaining of how great of a job they had done and did not look like that itwas in the accident at all and …., the second my dad went around the car and to thefront, he said “ oh we did not touch the front”.My dad noticed that the windshield was cracked, and as soon as we mentioned that, “ohwe noticed that yesterday” he said and then he was trying to say the windshield waschipped before and cracked because the car was sitting there for a couple of months.Supper shady!!!He was even trying to have me pay the deductible and take the car and send someoneinto my house to replace the windshield. I told him no and the windshield needs to bereplaced before I pay the deductible, he did not seem happy at all.I also found out that they have even tried to put an aftermarket windshield, but since theycould not calibrate it, hey had to get an OEM one. But they did not use the original rearcamera.The most annoying part was when I looked at the total repair cost, they are charging$19,211.46 for a $26,000 car.With that all being said, the car could have been total lost if they have provided theaccurate estimate at the first place, and I did not have to wait so long to get her back andit cost me over $3000 for that time being. They kept the cost at 73% so they can get themoney from the insurance company.I would stay away from these guys, and I would not recommend even consider takingyour cars there.

Comment: Dang it, this place has so many good reviews, but unfortunately, when I got my repairs, my experience wasn’t so great. My passenger side door was re-assembled incorrectly, and my right side speaker wires were never reconnected during the re-assemble. No sound on the speakers. I also didn’t receive an alignment, even though my insurance stated it was to be covered after the accident. Finally, Claudia, my advisor, was extremely rude and made me feel like a burden for asking multiple questions about my vehicle repairs. She had an unpleasant attitude, and lacks the customer service skills needed to be able to uphold the company’s reputation. Needless to say, I took my car to Toyota after, and they did the alignment, took apart my door again, and reconnected the speaker wires correctly…because at the end of the day, I’d rather spend more money and be treated respectfully, than return to fix auto, deal with Claudia, and have them fix their own mistakes for free.

Comment: DO NOT GO HERE. the lack of professionalism and customer service at this place is astonishing. Took my truck in for a major repair. They completely dropped the ball left my truck sitting for a month with out submitting estimate to the insurance company for repair and then blamed the insurance company. After getting on the phone and being furious at the adjuster he showed me that they hadn’t even submitted supplement for repair. Got on the phone with fix autos rep and chewed him out he just so happened to get the insurance estimate over that day. After getting the run around from this company I decided to move my vehicle to another shops fix auto had the audacity to charge me $600 out of pocket to release my vehicle after they used up my a lotted rental car time to let my vehicle sit in their shop. So not only did they cost me $600 they also cost me a months worth of rental car charges (another $1200) because I had to pay for my own rental car while my car was fixed my a much better more professional shop. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to deal with these people.

I took a look under the hood and one of the bolts was bent compared to the other side and my driverside window was rattling but fixed it once I mentioned it and said it was a loose bolt smhThe second car took longer than what the person “fixing it” said and a poor job as the pictures show 😞 I will never bring noir recommend FIXIT AUTO to anyone with a new car. Good people, don’t get me wrong but poor work skills as shown and if you do take it here make sure to look around where the damage was at because there could be damage still around that area where they fixed it.

Comment: As I was taking bolts off of my license plate, one broke and was stuck. I went to three different body shops and none of them could help me. Lastly I came to Hensons and I chatted with the ladies at the front desk. They were super sweet and told me that someone would look at it. Within 20 minutes they returned my car and fixed the problem. They also went above and beyond to add clips to make sure that my trunk was closed. So very pleased and forever thankful for the help I received today! I recommend!!!!!

Comment: This place is extremely unprofessional and they take lots of short cuts rather than doing actual work. I took my car here and they said they were just going to do an estimate on it and said it would take 2-3 days. But later I got a call and they said they ripped my bumper in half on accident while taking it off. This was unprofessional in my opinion since they were only supposed to be looking at it and doing an estimate, they were not authorized to fix it yet or take it apart.They also told me that they deemed my car totaled because the cost of the repairs is the same amount as it’s worth, however once I got their estimate I realized it’s because they ordered all new parts for things that could have just been repaired. For instance, my hood was misaligned and instead of adjusting it they said I needed a whole new hood.I decided to take it elsewhere but when I went to go pick my car up the front desk woman was extremely rude and told me that I would need to pay for my car to be towed out of their shop because they already took off the hood and bumper that was still ripped in half and that I couldn’t drive without those on. When I asked if they could put the hood back on so I could drive it since my car ran fine they refused and said no since I was no longer going to have them fix it. I called my insurance and luckily they got them to put the parts back on my car. But even after that when I got my car back my bumper was still ripped and they broke my air freshener somehow while moving my car.I would highly recommend that no one takes their car here it’s completely unreliable and unprofessional. I ended up taking my car down the street to Madrid Auto Body which is a family owned business and they did great work on my car and it costed me $1,600 less than Fix Auto wanted to charge me.

Comment: I brought my car in to have the drivers side mirror fixed, They wouldn’t order the part ahead of time and wanted me to leave the car there, told me it would just be a few days so I left my car. I called after three days and had to call twice to get through to somebody.. They said that the part was back ordered and they wouldn’t be able to get it for another 3 weeks! I decided to just get my car back, they barely were going to give me the keys back if I didn’t go forward with the repair, which sealed the deal on me not using them. I had some work done through my insurance here and they did a good job but I don’t recommend using them if you are paying out of pocket.

Comment: Im usually very happy with Fix-It Auto but I went in with a minor fender bender and it took them 2 months I just got my car back today my insurance only covered rental for a month I have been paying $500 a week for the past 4 weeks for rental car and all I was told was oh I went on vacation a couple people called out sorry needless to say my family will not be having Christmas this year because I had to pay for a rental because they couldnt get it together.i would have rather drove around with a wrecked fender they did not have my car for 2 months and had to cancel Christmas. Theres no excuse for this and I was just told oh well so sorry. After the first month when nothing was done to my car I asked if I could get it back until they could figure it out and they told me it was disassembled and I couldnt have it back. They did absolutely nothing to my car the entire time I had my insurance rental. I really do hope that they enjoy their Christmas with their family this year because we cant even afford a tree now. Comment: This is the body shop to go to! I worked with Claudia this time around who was amazing but my family has been coming here year after year for as long as I can remember. I was let down by my local dealership who damaged my car and failed to fix the problem. They had my car for 5 days and did the worse body work on it. I left the dealership unhappy and drove straight to Fix Auto, met with Claudia who reassured me my expectations to fix my Denali were reasonable and achievable. She ordered the part we needed that day, called me as soon as it came in, set me up to fix it the following week, I got it my Denali back looking good as new. I recommend and keep coming back here because they are professional, talented and most of all make me and my business feel valuable. Comment: The good: All replaced parts look factory new, and the painting they did looks good. I have a car again at least.The bad: I am low income with a cheap car, but even after explaining this to them, they refused to not make it perfect (Ill get to that term later). I got my car evaluated at a different place and they said only the Right Fender, Washer Fluid Tank, Right Headlight, and Front Valence needed replacing for safety, but much more was replaced without even asking, making this simple repair over a month long and very expensive. Expect to get a text every 2 days that says the same thing every time about the progress of your vehicle. The text/email/call updates were always not very informative as to when the car would be done or what they were doing that day.The ugly/perfect: The hood and front badge plate around where they were working have large paint chips and red scratches that werent there before. In the price out list it says they took these parts off, so it looks like they are careless with parts they take off. Expect your car to come back with new dents and scratches. They also installed used parts from another car without asking me.The Bottom Line is Please Find Another Shop to use, youll be much happier than with Fix Auto. If you do want to still use this shop, please takes tons of photos right before drop off and on pickup.Update 1: After their autogenerated response to this review I called them and they said they would look at the extra problems they caused, I took it there and they denied causing the obvious damage, despite the fact that it wasnt there before I gave them the car. I have also been getting nonstop survey requests so make sure you cancel text updates when you get your car back. After their unwillingness to make things right I am dropping my review to 1 star.

Comment: I will definitely not return or recommend this establishment. It took forever and a day. I got different stories on why it was taking so long. The days kept changing. It was almost done and then not close. Over and over again.They also said a door handle I gave them to paint was installed, but the old broken one was still in fact on. Then it was no they didn’t install it. Then they couldn’t find it. Seems very unorganized and felt lied to the whole time. The tool kit that came with the car was open and my trunk in complete disarray and things were moved all around. Scuff marks everywhere on the newly painted side. And for being washed two times at least, was mediocre at best. Black road dirt everywhere in the wheel wells. Not pleased. Not pleased at all. I’d choose somewhere else.

Comment: The work done on my car was so bad that I refused to sign off on the bill for the insurance payment. My car was hit in the rear which cracked the plastic bumper cap. When I brought the car in for the estimate, they said that they could repair (rather than replace) the plastic parts. When I came to pick the car up, there was a large (1/4 ) gap between the two plastic panels that form the bumper cap and there were obvious runs, sags, and chips in the paint both at the repaired area and elsewhere on the panels. They were able to push the two panels together but they are still very easy to separate which makes me believe that they damaged the holes in the panels and the clips that normally hold the panels together no longer fit properly. They had already painted the bumper twice at this point so I have given up on the idea of having them try to fix this. They also had the car for more than 1 week for what should have been a 2-3 day repair. I contacted the insurance company and they have told me that I can take the car to another shop to have the repair done properly. In addition to that, someone also was kind enough to steal the Ipod that I normally leave in the center console. The manager did say that if I brought in a receipt, he would pay for the replacement. I have not tried this yet.

All staff were professional, friendly, knowledgeable and good with communication and follow-up. In addition they were patient with me as I worked my way through a warranty issue with another company and then helpful when I decided to do the repairs through my own insurance policy. Donna and team helped me to understand that FJs are a bit of a challenge to work on, so I was even more thrilled when she brought in a windshield expert that had replaced multiple FJ windshields in the past. (Replacement by an inexperienced tech at another company is what damaged my vehicle). My FJ is my baby, Ive had her since brand new. Im really particular about how work is done and the result of the work. Im 100% satisfied with the job done at Hensons Fix Auto Escondido.They also helped me get to the rental car agency down the street, and when I came to pick up my car I was able to leave the rental with them for pick up. Easy! Our family has used Hensons Fix Auto Escondido three times now, and every experience was exceptional. I will NOT take our vehicles to any other repair shop. I most times just drive straight over to Henson’s. I began coming back because of Lauren (who has moved on now) but Mr. Paul Brandt helped me to get my vehicle right again. If they had done anything less than a perfect job, Id post about it. But, they did a fantastic job. The paint matching is perfect. Fit and finish on the new parts looks like new. And they even threw in a couple extra little paint touch-ups that really werent part of the damage I asked them to repair. The price was remarkably affordable, and they were done in 2 weeks (which, because of supply chain issues in the world today, is a miracle in itself.) These guys will be my new auto body shop. Happened to me twice. One time it was the scratch on a newly painted bumper, the second after having to repaint it again, they didnt put the bumper on properly. Geico gave me a few options and I found this place through their system and with all of their amazing reviews I got an appointment for the NEXT DAY (I made this appointment Sunday night, color me impressed). 30 minutes later I was driving away in my rental and feeling relieved that my baby would be well taken care of, and she was. They kept me in the loop 100% of the time and Curtis was so professional and amazing. It was the best case scenario in something you never want to happen. Thanks guys, youre all awesome. I went over the part of the car where it was repaired and they did a great job. Carlos didnt have anything to say unless we asked him. USAA scheduled the pickup for monday the 26th and instead they pick it up the same day i talked to USAA, the 21st. My husband went to pick up a credit card out of my car on the 16th before we even knew if the car was totaled. Apparently the shop notated that we gave verbal release and picked up ALL belongings out of the car. We still OWE the car and havent signed any release documents that came in the mail on the 22nd from insurance!!! Thankfully we are getting the car towed back to the house monday so we can clean it out and swap parts off. 😡😡😡😡Positives - they took care of my last car that was rearended and did a lovely job with the work and the customer service. And this car the only nice thing was the mechanic stayed late on the day of my accident to receive the car and ensure it was safe inside the gated yard.It would be nice if they communicate better before making assumptions and annotating false notes on customers records. My car was estimated to be finished 3 weeks or so after receipt, however other damages were noted which extended the service out. Due dates passed about three times BUT Excellence and Integrity in their product was the standard.... nothing less..... and they surely produced! Comment: I took my 2012 Honda Civic last year for a repair on my rear right quarter panel, they did a great job on it. This year I took my 2016 Honda Accord to get my front bumper repaired and same thing, they did a great job on the repair and paint. YES, I would recommend this place!

Comment: Have used Kirk and Henson Fix Auto for a long, long time for any body/collision issues having to do with my vehicles.The team at Henson Fix Auto ALWAYS do quality work, at a great price, regardless of whether you, or an insurance company is paying.I will always recommend them to my family and friends, and pretty much anyone in north county.

Comment: FixAuto has done an amazing job on my car. From accident damage to small Knicks and scratches. When I picked up my car it looked like new. Very happy with the quality of work performed by their techs and staff.

Comment: Have had many of my cars here over the past decade. Their service is hands-down the best in the business. One of my cars had been in five times (Chevy SSr) and they fixed it so well that when I had a dealer appraise it for trade, they were confused when the history report said it had been in an accident. I also like the fact that they support local Escondido sports teams; I see their banners at Kit Carson Park.
