Will (my service technician) was very easy to work with. I like asking a lot of questions and he was patient and explained me what was wrong with my AC and he was very confident that the fix he identified was the correct one. I had the AC repaired and working within 30 mins and the price seemed fair as well for both part and labor. I like working with Flame. Thanks for a great service.
Ive had Flame install my new A/C and service my furnace. Today, Samantha came out to inspect the furnace and was fantastic. She was knowledgeable and thorough. She explained things completely. Really great experience and I will continue to use Flame whenever necessary.
The Flame service Tech Paul was great. Very Knowledgeable of the issue with the furnace. This was my Inlaws home that Flame serviced. It was a Sunday call and Paul the Tech was there within a couple of hours even though he had to travel from across town. The service was outstanding. To add to all this there was even a discount on the parts. Flame is the company to go to. Thanks again.
Beware of the bad gal, good guy service and sales pitch that is orchestrated by Tara Wells (service) and Troy Marowske (sales). On March 29, 2022, Tara performed a diagnostic check on my furnace and Troy was summoned to sell me a furnace based on Taras recommendation. From the start of the diagnostic check, Tara wrote the amount of every major replaceable part of my furnace on the back of a FLAME contract (in my possession). I do not believe she had any intention of repairing my furnace. Her intention was to have FLAME sell me a new furnace. Tara tried to convince me that all the major parts of my furnace would need to be replaced in the near future, using today, tomorrow and next month as examples of time. Tara told me my furnace would cost $3,197.40 for a standard repair or $2,739.29 if I chose FLAMEs gold plan that included a $219 annual charge and a 10% discount on parts. The repair cost was approximately $1,000.00 less than a new furnace. Who would pay that much to repair an old furnace if they could get a new one for $1k more? This forced me to get a second opinion from FAMILY Heating, Cooling & Electrical, Inc. Here is where the fun part begins. My furnace only needed an inducer motor assembly. FAMILYs part cost was $260.00. FLAMEs PART COST WAS $1,025.52. How could that be if FLAME was not trying to rip me off? Today is May 3, 2022. I purposely waited over a month to write this review. My furnace is working fine. Brett was the service provider for FAMILY. He stated my furnace should be okay for at least several more years. FLAME has deceptive service and sales practices. They are also price gouging their customers. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!!!!If FLAME wants to dispute my claim, we can do so with the Michigan Attorney Generalβs Consumer Protection Division.
The Flame team returned to install a new air conditioner. They were prompt, well prepared, & worked hard. All 3 team members were very polite & seemed highly competent in their work. They checked in with me several times to update me on the progress. Everything was cleaned up before they left. Flame has been servicing our heating, cooling & hot water systems for over 20 years.
The crew that worked at my house was very good I just love the work they did they cleaned up their mess they kept me in contact with everything they did I would use them again and I will refer them Work I had done in my house first the furnace the air conditioner and an update my electrical box outside I have the same crew all the time I love that part thank you for the service and I hope you tell my crew I appreciate everything they did Mrs. Weaver
Flame is our βGo Toβ company for 2 generations! Their staff is very well trained, knowledgeable, courteous, smart and resourceful. Iβve never heard βnoβ from them - they find ways to make things work! Big Thank You today for our service tech Paul, who came out in 98 degree heat to help with our broken thermostat. These guys are not the least expensive, but they are fairly priced and well worth the money. Thank You Flame!
This was my first time using FLAME Heating and Cooling. They are very quick and easy to deal with. From the dispatchers to the installer I was very pleased with their workmanship, and their product. It was a great value. Will R., - my service professional installed my Water Heater and exhibited a high degree of regard for my home and my time. His finished product left my home as clean as it was before he came. I appreciate that! I recommend FLAME to handle any related business needs for anyones home. FLAME ROCKS!!!
The installers were very nice, and professional. Job went very smoothly, and no unforeseen problems. The original service tech Tony, was very helpful in explaining the problem with my furnace. Troy from the sales staff was very helpful and did every thing he could to keep the cost down.
When our old furnace quit working in mid-January we called Flame HVAC to look at it. They came right out. They send a message or email when they are on their way to you. They did a great job and were very professional and tidy about their work. A great crew that worked well with each other. We are very happy with the quality of the high-efficiency equipment installed.
Very professional dispatchers and if you have an issue that cant be figured out right away on the first visit, they will send someone back to check on it, which gave me confidence in this company and the willingness to continue to help until the problem I had was resolved. We contacted Flame due to a gas leak at our church. It was very nice that they sent a text message with the technicianβs name photo and estimated arrival time. I feel that they went above their service responsibilities by offering to work with the gas company to find the problem. Throughout this process we also discovered that they have certified plumbers on-call as well. It was a long process and they did a great job! I would definitely recommend their services!
Great experience from quote to service. I was able to get an install within 2 days. My technician, Gavin, was very polite and communicative. He called before he came, explained the procedure, explained water would be cut and provided opportunity to use the restroom, installed the water heater, explained that water had been restored and wait times. I also received another quote. Detailed invoice and quote were sent to my email.
Technician Brandon Peltier of Flame Heating did a phenomenal job. He was honest, courteous, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, answered all my questions, very professional. I would highly recommend using the companys service again. The employee named Donna who set our original appointment provided excellent customer service.
I called Flame first a couple weeks back. We had an aging and failing hvac system in our house, and the service techs were able to assist in keeping it alive. After the second component failure (and second service call in two weeks) we decided to pull the trigger on a full replacement of our AC and furnace.The install guys came out early on a Saturday, were professional, friendly and hardworking. They did a prompt and thorough job installing the full system, kept to their schedule, and answered all my questions. Canβt recommend these guys enough.
Excellent service from start to finish. Guys were polite and friendly and explained everything they did. Really top shelf. The guy who came round to turn on the AC, Anthony Francona, told us there was a minor mistake in the wiring as our furnace was 2 stage and the AC is one. He completed the rework in 10 minutes and explained everything as he went. The ladies who we spoke to in the office were also very friendly, helpful and just very nice. If you are looking for anything HVAC, give these guys a call. Outstanding work at a fair price and they are worth every penny! Thank you Flame. Customer for life.
Used this company twice, one for a same day gas line install for my dryer and then as a second opinion on an alledged leak and low refrigerant on my AC unit per another company. Turns out that there is no leak and the refrigerant levels are fine. All of the Flame technicians that I have worked with have been prompt, courteous, and go above and beyond. You cannot go wrong with Flame!
Their technician Alan came out and investigated some very strange behavior in my furnace and was able to diagnose it and help me figure out what needed to be done to fix it. I really appreciated Alans thoroughness and especially his honesty about how costs and benefits of different solutions as well as doing nothing. Honesty can be a hard to come by quality and I really appreciated it from Alan
Adam and his apprentice were incredibly professional, helpful, and effective in fixing our boiler that had quit working. I felt that they provided me the information I needed to fully understand the problem as well as the different solutions available to me, including cost. When we couldnt find any other business to fix our boiler before the following Monday, Flame prioritized getting our heat back up and running to ensure a warm home for my wife, two newborns, and me.
The plumber called before he arrived. He arrived on time. He evaluated the situation immediately. Went to pick up the parts he needed, replaced the sump pump and installed a back-up sump pump. The job was done in a timely manner. Very pleased with the plumber, his work and Flame. Thank you!!
Absolutely fantastic service. I had a tech out to take a look at my air conditioning systems blower fan when it started making a terrible earsplitting hum and cutting out after a few minutes of running. He found the cause of every issue and corrected them all in under 90 minutes.No high pressure sales pitches or attempts to upsell repairs into replacement, just high quality service.
We scheduled a plumber from Flame to come out and replace 2 hose bibs. I specifically asked during the call if they would be able to do the work, or if this would just be a quote. I was promised that they have fully stocked trucks and would be able to replace the hose bibs on the day they came out, and that the service call fee could be used towards the replacement.However, the plumber who came out refused to do the hose bib replacement same day, saying it was too late in the the day to do it and only provided us a quote (as well as a charge for the service call). We asked if he would at least try to remove the hose that was stuck on the bib, since we already were paying the service call fee and he was already out. He refused.Flame refused to do work as promised on the scheduled date and time, refused to provide us any services during our appointment time, and charged us for the pleasure. While I had only heard good things about Flame in the past, even having worked for one of their vendors before, I feel like I was taken advantage of and that my sisterβs requests and time was disregarded.
Very pleased with Curtis. He definitely went the extra mile to determine what the problem could be. He was very professional, polite, and answered my many questions with patience. I highly recommend this company. Had bad experiences with other companies. Very nice to deal with honest serviceman.
The team at Flame is one of the most profession teams I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Each member of their team worked hand in hand from the initial quote thru the install. Everything happened like clock work. I happened to be out of town during the install, and the field crew kept my wife informed at all times, and most importantly, she was comfortable with them being in the house.Amazing team they have over there!
Moved into a house with some baseboard heaters that suddenly quit warming. Quickly sched an appt, notice ahead of time with a photo of tech and he arrived right on time and fixed the problem quickly. Fair price, knowledgeable tech. We have a service contract and they do good honest work. We even got a whole house generator from them this Fall and that too was an excellent experience. We are former Customer Temp Control customers and remain satisfied with Flame who bought CTC - Highly recommend.
Had a complete replacement heating and a/c system installed by Flame Heating and Cooling which took about eight hours. All the technicians were very professional and kept me updated on their progress and explained the entire new equipment operation when complete. They also did a thorough cleanup when done.

I use this company for a lot of different properties. They have done a great job with annual inspections, repairs and replacements for me on many of my clients properties and my own as well. I feel confident when I call them that it will be done properly and fairly.
Flame was highly recommended by a family member so when I had some concerns about an aging furnace, I called them. I was very pleased with the information I received and the unltimate installation of a Dalkin 96% 2-stage furnace with variable fan and ECM motor and an Aprilaire 700a fan-powered who house humidifier. The enitre crew was very professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. The only concern I had was that when they were making connections and had to turn the gas off and on, my water heater was reset at a very high temperature causing it to kick off as a safety precaution the next day. I didnt discover it until we were down to just warm water. I had to relight the pilot and reset the temp.The maintenace plans were a good buy too so I purchased the NO SURPRISE PLAN for the new furnace and their GOLD PLAN for an existing AC unit - which I used today. A very nice tech named Alana - again, very professional, knowledgeable, and thorough - really took her time.I also like the text messages that Flame sent prior to their visit that not only included a picture of the technician that I would be seeing, but included a little bit about them.
Flame charged us four times for the same repair because they failed to identify the problem the first three times. Mo identified the problem on the last visit. However, we should not have been required to pay for the service call since it was Flames responsibility to correctly identify the problem on the other visits, or to exclude the charge for subsequent visits.
Requested a quote for complete home comfort system the sales person came out didnt explain anything or even asked what we were looking for, quoted the bottom of line system didnt have any info on what they offered made it seem like we were wasting his time. I wouldnt recommend Flame to my worse emery. They lost what could of been a sale if their sales person only cared about his job.
I paid them the $89 Service Fee .1st tech came out and gave me diagnosis .I Never received a receipt. I wasnt concerned because I thought it would be deducted from the installation fee. The next employee name Troy came out to survey my home and intrusively entered each room to measure each heating unit. Afterwards he stated that he would call me back in 2 days with a price. Troy did not call me so I called him( He knew it was winter and I had no heat) He blatantly lied to me staying Hey I will call you back tomorrow morning .He added ... we are crunching the numbers to get a great price. That was 4 weeks ago . I have not heard from Troy or FLAME Heating . I have never received a receipt for the cash payment I gave them,He ( They /FLAME ) have no shred of decency to call me back. So disrespectful .PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST.. ADD UP AND READ ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEW AND GO ELSEWHERE!!
I had tried calling numerous places before finally getting a suggestion to call Flame Heating and Cooling. I was looking to replace my electric baseboard heating for a gas furnace but that meant I needed duct and vent installation. Most other heating and cooling companies (or at least the ones I called) did not do duct and vent installation as it is quite the project. However, Flame Heating and Cooling told me that is something they could do! I dont have a basement, so everything had to be done in the attic considering it was Spring, the weather made it able for them to take on this project, if it was summer it would have probably need to be held off until Fall since it gets so hot in those attics. Troy was wonderful to work with, he had originally came out and did my estimate, very polite, knowledgeable and helpful. I asked to see what it would look like to do everything, duct and vent installation, gas furnace, AC unit and removing electric baseboards although that was probably not the route I was originally going to take because thats a lot of work and money however when I received the estimate it seemed like a no brainer to just do it all. Pricing was very reasonable. Moving forward to the job, which took a week to do, Chris, Kole, Brian (there may have been others here but I know these guys were the ones I met) and the electrician David (which I didnt get to meet) did such a wonderful job. Chris, Kole and Brian were all so polite and knew what they were talking about and doing. It was a messy project as well, but they cleaned everything up and made it seem like no one was ever in the house. Highly recommend Flame Heating and Cooling for your needs. Very polite and very reasonable pricing! Couldnt ask for better.
Got central air installed in my house on September 1st. The salesman came to my house to review my furnace and house. Itβs was pretty painless and itβs cool they offer financing as an option. The crew came at 7 am and were pretty efficient and respectful. The only problem, was they were not prepared with the correct materials to do the installation for the furnace. New ducting had to be installed with the new setup. The crew mentioned to me the salesman didnβt do the correct measurements and that affected the crews install time. They crew spent a good hour to two hours waiting for parts to come from the shop. I want to stress that the crew did nothing wrong, they were fast and efficient when they had all the parts to do their job, but as a company Flame/management did not correctly prepare so the crew could do their job efficiently. The crew arrived at 7ish am and left around 4:30-5:00pm due to the set backs. At the end of the day they found my Nest thermostat was not turning on the furnace. They found I had a two wire connection to my thermostat and it needed a 3+ wire connection. Since the crew was so set back waiting for parts half the day, they didnβt have enough time at the end of the day to install the new wire connection for my thermostat so I had to wait until Friday (September 4th) for the electrician to come back and install the new wire. The technician came back on Friday and everything worked after the new wire was installed.The crew was great but sales and management did not correctly supply the crew so they could do their job on a timely manner. I was quoted the install would take 4-5 hours so I was a tad irritated that this install took nearly 9 hours....
I paid for FLAME to come out and look at my newer furnace that started making a loud rumbling when kicking on. $250 later, the technician (who was nice) left saying he did everything he could. During the process he also ripped out the new filter from the furnace and did not have a replacement for it. He left with furnace still making the sound which he acknowledged while insisting to give me a quote for them to redo the system and join their gold plan, but why would I do that after spending $250 for the original problem they could not fix. I emailed FLAME about the problem, I got a call which I missed but called back a couple times with no response. I also texted the number listed on their site, with no response. I was hopeful going into this based on previous reviews, but after this experience I will not be going back and will actively tell other homeowners looking for furnace work that this is not the choice. I hate to leave a bad review but this is what it is.
So, I called them for a simple repair to the thermostats wire. That would amount to no more than ten dollars worth of materialsβ¦the quote was 530.00. To repair a splice in thermostats wire no bigger than a foot and a halfβ¦ called a second company and they did it for $60. Just why?

The technicians were all friendly, knowledgeable, patient and terrific to deal with in a very uncomfortable situation - our furnace called it quits while we were out of town and it was snowy and cold at home. We were really impressed by the quality of their service!

Furnace stopped heating on one the coldest days of the year. Service came out inacouple of hours.Tecnician explained problem and weighed costs of repairs. Went with new furnace. Tom quoted a resonable price and a unit installed in 2 days.. Install occured in a timely manner and working well. Good past service, current support and will use in future work, if needed..
We are still in the process of getting our air conditioning put in . It was supposed to be five days we are in five weeks . They put it in and late at night we had major water coming through my daughters newly done rooms ceiling fan and ceiling. Destroyed our plaster. We get no response from the higher up people. Itβs been a horrible experience and itβs continuing to be a horrible experience. I wish there was some accountability and action taken we are at there mercy .
They were supposed to be here by 8, we went to bed at 9:15, tech finally called between 10:30 and 11 p.m., when I called the next day I was on hold for 10 minutes while they checked the schedule for today. Hung up, called back, to be told we were on the schedule. I told them to forget it and I would be reviewing on Google and Facebook. I would give them zero stars but Google wont allow it.
I became a Gold member of Flame thinking I would save money. What it actually does is make you a slave to regret. Sure the initial absurd 89$ βtake a look feeβ is reduced to 59$ through Gold , but after they arrive β¦ let the games begin. My problem was simply to reset the dishwasher, as was explained to me over the phone (I wasnβt present) when the Flame tech arrived . So imagine my astonishment when the bill actually totaled 159! Apparently the tech took the initiative to also clean my disposal for a whopping 100$ more! To save face, the manager I complained to claimed the cleaning was necessary to reset the dishwasher, but that is not at all what was explained to me when the tech was on site. Donβt pay to be a Gold member. Itβs not worth it, and you really want to feel free to shop somewhere else besides this fee gouging company.
Absolutely the worst. We replaced our AC with this company just for it to break twice within a month of it being installed. The first time it broke, the employee said they ordered the wrong part, so we had to wait a week for it to be replaced. Now, the AC unit is running, but it is freezing up and not cooling the house. The company claims that they are available 24/7 but no one picks up the phone. Finally, when someone does answer, they say they cant send someone for a week. Now I have to play phone tag and try to reach a live person before this 90+ degree heat hits us this weekend. At this point, I either want a brand new unit installed or my money back.
Flame installed a complete HVAC system (furnace, AC, and humidifier) in my home back in 2012, they replaced the old furnace which was 47 years old and the AC which was almost as old.Flame installs Bryant HVAC systems and after some online research, Ive decided to have a full Bryant HVAC system installed and Im completely satisfied with the new level of comfort and energy savings Im getting.Ill start by saying that this was not cheap, it was very expensive, but you really get what you paid for, competent technicians and a company that stands behind the products they sell & install.What I ended up with was a new 96% efficient furnace, a more efficient AC system, a really good and efficient (low water usage) humidifier, a new chimney flue liner for the hot water heater exhaust (the new furnace exhaust & intake is through the side of the house), and last but not least was the duct cleaning.The install crew, Stephan, Bill and electrician Bill, were truly professionals and they did a tremendous job removing the old and installing the new, you can tell by looking at the details of the install like how the humidifier and AC condensate drain line is actually pitched properly to drain, how the intake and exhaust pipes were run parallel to the outside of the house, how the water feed line is routed to feed the humidifier, how the old water heater exhaust was upgraded to draft properly with the new chimney liner, small things like that shows that care was taken when it was installed. The crew showed up in the morning and was done with the install before 5 PM. I scheduled the duct cleaning 2 weeks later because of my personal schedule and the duct cleaning tech showed up on time and did a complete and thorough job.As with any job this large in scope there were some problems to be hammered out. The service tech that came out to setup and check for proper operation of the furnace found a gas control valve that was plugged up with debris and was stopping the valve from going into high-burn, he ordered and picked up a new gas control valve at the local supply house and installed it. Unfortunately, that valve would not go into high-burn either.The tech looked at the valve and saw debris/dirt at the inlet of the valve, he had to remove the newly installed gas piping to remove the clump of dried mud and bits of plastic from the inside of the pipe. Unfortunately the local supply house didnt have another gas control valve in stock and I had to wait a few day for the factory to ship one in. After the install of the new valve the furnace was set up and gave the proper combustion readings and I was good to go, no problems with the furnace since. As for the dried mud and plastic bits in the pipe, Im guessing that it was in the pipe before it was cut and threaded because the pipe was clean and rust free when it was delivered to my house which tells me that its a vendor QC problem.Fast forward to late spring of 2017. The AC was working perfectly until now. Im a Gold Plan member and I called for my annual AC inspection and I told the nice lady on the phone that my AC is not cooling and Im getting fault warnings on my intelligent thermostat.The inspection tech arrived on time and found that my AC evaporator coil (above the furnace) has a leak and needs to be replaced. It was a pleasant surprise to find that the leaking evaporator coil was covered under the Bryant warranty and it did not cost me anything for parts or labor.As a Flame Gold Plan member they come out and inspect the AC in the late spring and inspect the furnace in the late fall. All in all, I happy with Flame.
I called at 8:00am made a appointment for the same day they texted me with a pic of the tech and all of his qualifications, his name is Will Robinson he walked me through the whole repair letting me know the problem a faulty capacitor and price which was very reasonable, he was very professional and courteous, I will definitely be using Flame again if needed and already recommended them to my neighbor
I have had flame out multiple times for different issues over the years. This was the first time I had issues with my furnace. My technician was Anna. She did a great job! She communicated everything with me throughout the work. She had my furnace fixed quickly and the price was reasonable. I would not hesitate to have her back.
High marks!!!! Dave is an excellent craftsman whose work can be admired. And so can his customer relationship capability. Clearly his nearly 40 years of experience came through. I have nothing but the very highest grades for the Flame team that Dave led. He will be a hard man to replace. In addition, follow up visits were very good.
Flame upgraded the electrical system at my home and I couldnβt have asked for any greater degree of professionalism and attention to detail. I observed them consulting with other experts to ensure that everything was consistent with city codes and they kept me apprised of what they were doing. In addition, they limited the amount of time that I was with power to the bare minimum. I highly recommend their services.
They came out and assessed my dead heater. They saved me because another company had been here on weekend and said they could come back and fix it, but it would be 2k. These guys caught a crack in the exhaust exchange, which is very dangerous. Now I have a safe new heater instead of a very old dangerous heater with an outrageously expensive repair. Thanks for your diligence!!!!! Will call you first next time.
After my home was flooded recently and my heating unit was destroyed, Flame came to the rescue. I called many name brand companies and their answer to me was that, We dont service Detroit! Flame was professional, thorough and fairly prices. The unit is quiet and seems easy to maintain. I did have a small issue and they came and corrected it right away. I would definitely recommend this company and all of its employees! Great job Flame!
Kyle was the best! Ive been with Flame for years and theyve always been prompt and fixed my problem. Kyle explained what everything did and what parts effect eachother. I really appreciated that so I understood what went wrong. He also told me about the Gold card (which I got) since I have an old furnace with problems. Thanks Flame. Where to startβ¦from calling at 8pm on a Saturday night and their customer service agent actually answering the phone when other companies are closed until Monday, to the professional employees like Rob yesterday to assess and advise to Gavin today removing the old hot water tank, putting all new piping and connections plus installing the new incredible 50 gallon tank while both of these professional gentlemen were kind and courteous. Explained every step. Did it with genuine smiles. Not only will I be a loyal Flame Customer for life I will also have my new connection to pass onto family and friends. 5 star service. You guys rock.
These people are terrific! We needed new hvac, new water heater, back-up sump pump, new electrical panel and a bunch of other smaller things. We got quotes from 4 or 5 companies, decided to give the entire job to Flame, and they did it all in 2 days. The guys were all polite and friendly, a real pleasure to have working in the house. I give them my highest recommendation.
Flame installed a new whole house generator for us. We had to wait a long time to get it because it was out of stock and when ordered it took what seemed like forever to get it. Four wonderful gentlemen came out and spent all of Wednesday working on the change over. Two of them were back today to finish up. The installers were all wonderful, very helpful, and did a GREAT job of installing and explaining it! We will continue to recommend Flame to anyone we know that they might be able to provide service for!
The service was at my 89 year old mothers house. I set up the call but was not there for the service. The house is heated by radiators and the furnace operates by steam. There is a glass pipe that shows the water level in the furnace. The glass pipe broke so all that was needed was to replace the glass pipe. I informed Flame when setting up the service of the problem so that they would have the glass when the technician arrived. The technician finally arrived (about 1.5 hrs after their stated window). The tech was professional and the problem was not necessarily with him. He replaced the glass, performed a check to ensure the furnace was operating properly and charged my mother 483 dollars!!!! Thats right, 483 dollars. I called the next day and spoke to a manager. Long story short, I was advised that the only error was that the tech should have waived the 89 dollar charge for arriving on scene. The manager justified the true cost of 394 dollars to replace a glass pipe and make sure the furnace was operating properly by stating that there are fixed and operating costs across the board that Flame must recoup. The tech, the van, stocking the material for calls, their call center, etc. I understand business but I asked him to think about the eye check here. Justifying charging 394 dollars to replace a glass cylinder. I understand business but this is not right and in no way can be justified. The manager only ensured a refund of the 89 dollar arrival fee. Nothing else. I was hoping that Flame valued me as a customer more than just explaining their need to recoup business costs regardless of how little the actual cost to them is on a particular job. BUSINESS IS BUSINESS BUT FLAME CANNOT JUSTIFY THEMSELVES IN THIS INSTANCE.
Our furnace started clanking on Sunday. We called FLAME heating and cooling on Monday afternoon and were able to get someone to come out the next morning. By Tuesday morning when they came, our furnace had stopped working all together. They sent me a picture of the technician via email so I knew who to expect. They called me 20 minutes out to let me know about when she would arrive. The technician wore PPE equipment and shoe booties to protect our floors. She diagnosed what was going wrong, went and got the part needed and installed the new part. They offered a maintenance plan to get a discounted rate on the service for the year. They told us what else might need to be replaced soon to keep the furnace running and offered a discount if we wanted to buy a new furnace in the next 15 days. The technician was knowledgeable and thorough and friendly.
The gentleman who came to my house was fantastic. I received a text prior to his arrival with his image so I would know who to watch for, he was courteous, took time to answer all my questions and make suggestions on the best ways to keep my furnace and AC working at top performance. He was not pushy or in a hurry and covered all the checks that he completed. I have had great service and support from Flame since they installed my new furnace and AC 6 years ago. There are very few companies that I feel good about recommending but I would recommend Flame with full confidence!

Our tech was Jim, called to give us a heads-up that he would be arriving in 45 min and he did. He is without question the professional that you want checking something as important as your furnace. His inspection was through and he explained many of the results in detail and in a way that it was clear and understandable. Great job.
Typically, our furnace went out on the first real snow day/night of the winter. Called Flame at 5:30pm and they had a truck here by 8:30am the next morning. Driver traveled through very bad roads to get here and re-traveled them to get a new motor out of the warehouse. Replaced defective motor and had the system checked out and working in an hour. The responsiveness and professionalism of the company and their personnel is the reason why we have relied on them for probably more than 30 years. And thank you Jeff for a great job!
Flame let my husband know she would be there in about 20 min. Tara arrived in less time than that. She told me the fee for the service call figuring in my service contract. She ran diagnostics and checked the air flow temperature at the nearest register vent. It was only rising 2 degrees and should have been rising by 45 degrees. She checked the gas flow it was high but the flame strength was weak. The cause was a spider web plus the dead spider. A little eerie and a little creepy and rather appropriate considering Halloween is only 5 days away! Tara did a thorough job of cleaning out the πΈοΈ and π·οΈ. It was a fair price for the service rendered. Yeah! We have heat again! Thank you Tara and Flame. π
Extremely disappointed. There was a minor understanding in how work was to be completed for a new AC installation. When brought up through phone call, was reassured that some simple wiring would be immediately done and I should not worry. One month later, no word on when the technician would come. Then I went to the office and spoke to someone directly who again reassured me that Flame would take care of it. Once again, three weeks, almost a month has passed with no communication. Frustrated and tired of trying to have this company keep their word.
After scheduling my annual furnace checkup with Flame for the first time, I was impressed with their protocol... Well-detailed service explanation, price, date/time, and how I will be notified prior to the appointment. I received an appointment confirmation email upon finishing the call, days later a reminder text, and on the day of the appointment, a detailed text introducing me to my technician along with a photo for identification and the office phone number was provided in case I had any questions. Soon thereafter the technician, Kyle, arrived in the companys van and introduced himself (although I was already fully aware of who he was). A friendly smile, very polite, and happy to answer any questions. He immediately began by explaining what he will be doing and after showing him the location of the furnace quickly got underway with the inspection. I was thoroughly impressed when making the call after learning they offer a thorough 22-point inspection, but without any disrespect to the company, I was very / more so impressed with Kyles recap knowledge and answers to all my questions without hesitation. I would rate this a 5-star experience and highly recommend Kyle as a technician. Excellent Service! Rob and Jeffery from Flame plumbing were outstanding in the repair of a cleanout drain in our furnace room. Super professional, and did an outstanding job. Before they even start the job the Flame techs always lay down a runway of protective paper from the entrance to the home all the way to the repair location. They wear protective booties and make sure to clean up after the job is done. Cant say enough about the professionalism of these guys as well as communicating the scope of work and any potential issues...etc They also send you a text of when the Technicians are dispatched along with a photo of the tech and their customer rating. Highly recommend them.
The customer service was great!Curtis was excellent! Walked in and explained to me exactly what was wrong with my furnace, (unlike the contracted technician sent out by the city utility company.) The previous technician told me I needed to replace everything and the city agreed. I had been using the same company to repair my plumbing and furnace for years but lately every time I call them it is a 10 day to 3 week wait. So I called Flame on Monday and the plumber Carlos came out that day. The heating and cooling repair person Adam came out Wednesday. Both technicians were on time and very professional. Very far pricing and honest. Flame is now my go to for repair work.
The technicians are very knowledgeable, friendly, courteous. They did a very nice job and cleaned up before they left. The Humidifier was leaking excessive amount of water. Shortly thereafter the problem was solved. Very pleased with the service and installation of our new heating and air conditioning units. The crew sent for installation were very professional and respective of our home and surroundings. They were very willing to answer any questions through out the process At end of installation the crew leader took me around installation to show me work done and explain proper procedures to use. Incidentally the units replaced were installed by Flame 23 years ago.
Mike was able to get to business the same day that I called for service. He was very professional and worked quickly to get my AC units back up to full speed. It was extremely hot but Mike worked continuously to get our units back on track. I would highly recommend Flame for any AC maintenance or repairs.
We have been Gold Plan customers of Flame Heating and Cooling for several years. They have inspected, maintained, and repaired our previous furnace and AC, replaced laundry room faucets, and fixed a leaky shower. In February they installed a new furnace and AC. Their service technicians are consistently very professional, skilled, informative, polite, respectful of safety, and on time. The technician always lets us know when he will be arriving and texts us with a photo and also calls. Their installation of the furnace and air conditioner in February was done with a team of technicians who worked together well, got it done in one day, and left everything cleaned up. We just completed our first extensive experience with Flame, following their purchase of our long-time HVAC company (Custom Temperature Control). Based on what weve seen this year, we are very, very impressed. We had a long-standing AC leak problem before and during this transition period. It was handled wonderfully and was perfectly resolved, with original warranty honored. That says a lot. And every phone contact with Flame has been great so far - everything explained, smooth transition program, scheduling adhered to (thanks Ahmed!), and good followup. This whole thing was complicated, and yet everything happened when it was supposed to, everything was explained in advance, and every promise was honored. Best of all, our Flame HVAC technician himself (Mo, who weve worked with for years) is the just the finest that weve ever worked with - so we were extremely happy that Flame picked him up from Custom Temp. To sum up, our initial experience with Flame was so positive that will be very happy to continue using their services. I was completely impressed from beginning to end of service. The customer service rep was amazing when she set up the appointment. She quoted me a price and detailed out what I would get in this service. The service tech called before he arrived. I even received a text to say the tech was on the way. It included his picture and a short bio so I would know who was coming into my home. The tech talked me through what he was doing and answered any questions I had moving forward. Inspection stickers were placed on my appliances and I was totally impressed. My invoice and inspection form was sent to my email before the tech even left my home. I will totally use FLAME again!!!
Flame heating and cooling was very professional from the start, the Customer Service rep was polite and courteous. I called two companies and Flame responded promptly. The Service Tech was very knowledgeable and honest. I have the DTE service protection and their tech came out previously said the furnace couldnt be repaired, Matt from Flame ran a diagnostic and found out it was the blower motor. I had an AC installed in February and I couldnt be happier. I had a great deal with the February special and the installers did quality work. They were very respectful of my new floors and corrected the corner cutting from the previous hack job. They have a better product selection than the manufactured home service companies. I recommend FLAME to everyone for all of their services.
My generator was cycling my air conditioner every 4-5 minutes. The Flame technician Mo Kang was fantastic. He was familiar with both ACs and with generators. He spent the time to diagnose the issue, test it and get things running. Perhaps the best HVAC technician Iβve had in a long time. Couldnβt have been more pleased with the service. Flame also installed my new AC last week and did a great job.

We had some gas leaks that required repair to the pipes. The master plumber came out and checked everything and fixed everything very professionally. We had to wait for Con En to come back out to turn the gas on and you never know when they will show up, but the plumber waited and it got resolved. Can finally move back into our house again! FLAME was recommended from a friend and it did not disappoint. Would highly recommend.

I was dissatisfied by our past provider, Mastercraft.FLAME was referred by a number of people in our neighborhood. I needed an inspection and was pleased by the ease of communication. The tech they sent, Adam Olsen, was knowledgeable and a great communicator as well. Well be a repeat client.
I called them out for a quote to eeconnect a new sink i installed along with a dishwasher and garbage Disposal. The quote was $723.00 plus an additional 228.00 or something. My wife was home along. Mind you i just had the Dishwasher set in place and electrical done brand new along with having the sink installed so had that had to be done was connect the waterlines and drains to the sink and then reconnect the dishwasher and harbage diposal. $1000.00 almost. I think not. I think he tried to take advantage of my Wife because she was a woman and the rep didnt think she was knowledgeable and also possibly because it was a new kitchen cabinets and granite countertops so maybe he thought we would pay the high cost. Now i am stuck paying for an Service Call of $89.00 and the Guy wasnt even in my home for 2 minutes. Also i tried to savage the deal and say just hook up the sink. He told me no and that his Boss wouldnt let him and even if he did the costs would be the same. What a RIP off. Use Extreme Caution when dealing with this Company. Called and asked to speak with the Manager and dont know if he truly was or not. But he cosigned everything the Rep said. Smh.
From the call to the service that was given was flawless. Carlos was very friendly and knowledgeable about the job. He cleaned up after himself before he left. The receptionist was nice and got me in real fast plus they had a $99 drain special that helped on the pockets. I would recommend this company and I will use again in the future.
Most unprofessional lying individuals I have ever contacted. Had an estimate done the sales person told me he will go back in the office and let me know next day the actual price day goes by nothing second day goes by nothing third day no call for a day no call I decided to call nobody return my phone call few days later I get an email with a quote I agree to it and never heard anything back schedule installation or anything and then one morning I get a phone call stating that Installation crews will be coming out to my house today who does that nobody called me to schedule anything they just randomly show up whenever they feel like it terrible customer service.
FLAME came to the rescue today after a valve burst in our hot water heater and water went everywhere in our basement. As soon as I called them I received a call from Troy to give me a quote on a new hot water heater. Not only was his quote very reasonable but the warranty included was unbeatable! The technicians were out within a few hours to install our nΓ©e hot water tank so we didnβt have to go without water for more than a few hours. Iβm so thankful for everyone who helped us out today! It was honestly such a blessing and positive experience I will definitely be using them in the future if needed. Highly recommend this company.

I am so thankful for Flame right now, especially Sean who just left after fixing my A/C unit. My air stopped working last night, and with 90 degree temperatures and 90% humidity, this was a major problem since I have severe asthma. We have been regular customers for over 8 years. We needed a humidifier installed on a new furnace. They arrived on time - to the minute. There was a glitch that the estimator missed which required a plumber. The plumber was called, glitch fixed, install complete and within the time frame specified - and no additional charges. Prices are fairer than other local red truck company.Only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because our furnace repair service bill was over $1,000, and no receipt was given to us. My husband was informed that it would be emailed to us but it was not.
Iβm very disappointed with my experience from Flame. I would not recommend them to others.I told the gentleman who came the issue β that the fan blower began humming after use for awhile. He went into the furnace room, pulled the cover off, and before even checking anything he immediately tried telling me to replace the whole furnace. I felt like I was getting my oil changed from a trash shop who was trying to rip me off.When I started asking more questions then he started βtestingβ the parts finally, and to his discovery the blower was actually testing fine.He sent me a quote for the replacement parts incase they fail β which were all generic without any part numbers. Iβve done my research and the parts online are 1/3 or less of the cost. Do not use this service if you want a trustworthy opinion, repair or quote. Use someone local who actually cares about their customers.

We had to change appointments due to weather and a conflict on our part...nothing was ever a problem. I wish I knew names of those who answered our calls.
Flame installed central air in my house and I initially had some problems with the system that, while frustrating, Flame came through and addressed for me when they came up. To begin with, the initial installation was done with ducting that was not up to code, and they had to redo everything for the city inspection to pass. The guys who put in the air handler didnt coordinate with the electrician who wired up the thermostat, and he had to use some workaround to get it working the first time. Then came my annual problems at start of each summer. The first time, the thermostat would not get power from the air handler, and someone had to rewire everything with the consequence that the fan was no longer functional. This year the compressor wouldnt kick on, but Flame was not responsible for that one. I had some roofers who unplugged a cable and left it that way without my knowledge. Louis came by and got everything up and running along with an add-a-wire to fix the fan problem I mentioned.
Lightening struck our house and knocked out our A/C on a hot muggy July day. We called 10 companies who all said βa day or twoβ then called Flame who said theyβll be out in 2-4 hours. They were, got us up and running and weβve been loyal customers since (15 years). Gold Plan offers free inspections 2/year and reduced rates. The service techs are great, knowledgeable and friendly. We used them for a brand new HVAC/humidifier/water heater install and they were outstanding!
Im very pleased with the inspection/maintenance service provided by Flame Furnace per their Gold Plan. Prior to his arrival, Kyle informed me via text message of his expected arrival time, and he arrived promptly at the time indicated. After showing him to the HVAC location in the basement, he performed the furnace inspection/maintenance while I went about my business with very little interruption, and with the utmost courtesy and professionalism at all times. After he was finished, he explained exactly what he had done, and gave me a thorough report of the condition of the system. He even offered to replace the filter with a new one I had on-hand, and to help winterize the AC condenser unit outside! Again, overall Im very happy with the service I received, and exactly why I signed-up for their Gold Plan in the first place; thank you Kyle and Flame Furnace!
This morning we had Mr. Jackie Gaitors doing the furnace tune up for fall 2021. He was extremely thorough and explained everything that was checked and how our system was working. He was very neat, taking the old filter with him and also, very professional in manner. Flame is very lucky to have him as an employee and we were fortunate to get him to do the furnace maintenance today.

Came home after a weekend away to find my water heater had leaked all over my basement. Called Monday morning to see if someone could come out and take a look at it. Rob came out within an hour of calling. Said I needed a new water heater which I expected since mine was over 15 years old. He said he would be able to get it done same day. He even cleaned up the water in my basement and unclogged my drain in basement without charging me. Great experience!

We didnt feel as if we were being sold products that weret needed.On the day the guys arrived, they were punctual and mindful of COVID regulations. They very positive and professional. Nader, Joshua, James along with other FLAME service technicians were fantastic! The work they performed was just beautiful!! Our steam boiler stopped working on a Saturday. Flame was able to come out on a weekend and fix the issue quickly. I was worried about the cost since it was the weekend but it was very reasonable even if it was a weekday. Great thorough work, I will definitely use them again.
I noticed this morning that my kitchen sink drain was blocked, called Flame, and someone was here at about 11 am to unclog the badly blocked drain. Not only did he unclog the drain professionally but he also cleaned the sink and the area under the sink. Very happy with the service, responsiveness to my emergency, and professionalism of the work.
FLAME was very responsive and communication was great. The service technician called to advise of time of arrival and was very professional and gave me a thorough explanation of what caused my furnace to go out. I cant be thankful enough about the friendly and prompt service I received.
We use FLAME for all our heating/electrical/cooling issues, and they have always been very professional and thorough. Today we had an electrical issue (possible short in our wall) and required advice on installing a new electrical panel. I cant recommend them highly enough! Every single service professional they have sent has done a great job and they always take the time to answer any follow-up questions.
We had them fix our thermostat and they did a great job. This past time Jackie Gaiters came out and was fantastic. He was professional and helpful and I was distracted with work and he was understanding and worked with my husband and me as we navigated work too. He explained a lot to my husband as he did the maintenance and he was really professional.
My water heater ruptured and I needed it replaced immediately. Flame replaced it within hours. The technicians were respectful of my home, using PPE gear, they rolled out disposal liners, instead of the usual drop cloths companies use, for a clear and clean access path from my front door to the basement. The tank is a beauty. Thank you Austin, Dan, and Alex. The service was awesome. I will use Flame in the future.
I wonβt go anywhere else! My service tech, Lee, let me know about a Class Action Lawsuit on my 11 year old furnace that replaced my heat exchanger. I doubt other companies would do that, so Iβd have to buy a new furnace in a few years. Thanks, Lee! Iβll see you when my AC needs its checkup. And by the way, they did a great job with the installation 11 years ago. Even my plumber remarked on how neat it was.
I was home for most of the installation day with Dave and I think Bill. These two stayed at our home from start to finish. Dave clearly has years of experience, heβs knowledgeable and is very personable. Bill also did a great job! He worked on the AC unit and was patient with our puppy.There were two other men that came over; one that took everything that needed to be disposed of and the other man came right before I left for work. I think he did the thermostat installation.Dave also took time at the end of the day to go over everything with us and to answer any questions we had about the new units.This experience was great just like any other experience with Flame in our home!Our salesman was easy to communicate with and set clear expectations for our installation, cost and service. He also addressed my concern with the brand we were having installed and we were pleasantly surprised to have our installation scheduled so quickly. Just in time for the next heat wave!We will stick with Flame for any of our service needs in the future!
Mike C. came to check the furnace for fall and not only explained in detail his findings and what that meant, but helped replaced our filters that I had bought and talked me through options to balance temperature zones. He was courteous, conversational, clean, and kind to our children on top of that all!
At the start of the hottest week of the season, our main floor air-conditioning unit broke. We have a gold plan and it took a week for aservice man to come and tell us the obvious, our 25 yr old unit needed to be replaced. I said fine, order one. He could not, he said a salesperson would have to come out and give us a quote??? Oh, BTW it would takea week for the guy to come see us... for what , to try to sell me a newunit?? I know I need a new unit....meantime it will start to swelter soonand we will be trapped in our basement. Flame is great until you need them in a pinch. The Gold plan is worth as much as a VenezuelanBolivar>

2022-02-08After waking up to 46 degrees indoors, I realized the furnace had stopped working. After calling Flame they sent out a tech to look things over, but of course my Attic Furnace part wasnt in his van, so I had to wait until the following day for the repair.Jeff and Mike were both so polite, quiet, and very nice about breaking bad news.I will call again. Perhaps the only thing Id change? If theyd ask what type of furnace make/model so they could ensure they had the most frequently broken parts with them. HOWEVER - my furnace is 21 years old so I cant really complain, can I? :)

2021-12-29My technician Samantha G., was very prompt, courteous, very knowledgeable of her craft and professional. She explained exactly what our furnace needed and what she needed to perform in a manner we understood. I appreciate the respect to the property, by wearing shoe guards and tidying up afterwards. Overall, we are fully satisfied with the quality of service she provided to us. We bare in mind this experience when in need of service again. You rock Samantha!!! π

2022-06-14I am very impressed with Flame Heating and Cooling. After my experience with this company, I would recommend them to acquaintances, friends and family. Although the price for a new AC unit/installation is higher than most, I come from an HR background and understand all too well what it takes to train/keep exceptional team members and the overhead costs that come with running a business. What sold me on Flame Heating and Cooling is two things...Exceptional Customer Service, and no interest financing for up to 18 months if you qualify. I can also add that the quality and workmanship is outstanding. The team members are good-natured, personable, and they do a clean installation. My first encounter with Flame was a service call to repair an old unit. The technician, Anna, is exceptional. Anna isolated the problem within minutes and had my air running in no time. The charge for the service call and part was very minimal, and in my book, she is a rock-star! Overall, my summary with this company is this: Responsive and answers/returns calls, sends text/email with appointment reminders, sends a short bio and pictures of the technicians, professional over the phone, professional and forthright sales team, exceptional customer service from every technician and licensed contractor, exceptional labor and parts warranty on new units, no-interest financing for those who qualify. I give Flame Heating and Cooling 5 out of 5 stars.

2022-02-09What great service! I spoke with Tom first thing in the morning after finding out late the night before my water heater was leaking out water everywhere! He was quick to send over the estimate and get someone out the same day to remove my old water heater and install the new! The technician Eric was very friendly and helpful. He was in and out in no time and even asked to clean up the mess! All around great service! Iβd recommend Flame to everyone!

2022-05-26Overall, Im very pleased with my experience with FLAME.Every step of the way, customer service has been friendly and helpful - from the first phone call, to installation day. Unfortunately, there was a scheduling mistake on FLAMEs end when a service tech was scheduled to come out and diagnose what was wrong with my old AC unit. My appointment was accidentally placed a week late. However, when I called FLAME, the receptionist apologized profusely and contacted someone to come out promptly the following day. Unfortunately, after the visit we decided the best route forward was to replace our 17 year old unit.I was told that a salesperson would contact me the following day. They did not. Two days later, I called and scheduled a salesperson to quote us on a new unit. They managed to come hours later. The salesperson was friendly, quick, and not overbearing in anyway. He was in and out within 30 minutes or so. The price of the unit with installation was actually about 1/4 less than we expected it to cost, so we signed and chose an installation date. Much to our surprise, again, they were able to schedule us only 1 week out. We fully expected that with the state of production and lack of workers that it would be 3-4 weeks out. I understand that these guys are working incredibly hard right now since the weather is changing and the world is in utter chaos.Today was installation day. The crew was on time, early even! Once again, they were kind, respectful, and professional. From what I can tell so far, they executed the installation adequately and cleaned up after themselves. Our installer even helped secure a rattling vent rattle than made itself apparent after the install, but wasnt caused by anything they did.Payment was a breeze as well. I didnt feel like I was being taken advantage of at any point like many other contracting businesses do.After a bad experience with a different air conditioning company, I wont hesitate to reach out to FLAME for work in the future. If anything changes, I will update this review.

2022-06-01This was my first experience with Flame, and it was a very positive one. I switched over to them from another company after not being fully satisfied with the other companys service. Communication with Flame and my assigned tech was excellent. The tech took her time in assessing both my furnace and a/c unit. She identified some suggested maintenance, which I had her take care of for me. She also let me know about some issues with current a/c unit which is an early warning to me to save up some money for a new unit in the near future. I appreciated her transparency and helpfulness. All in all, very good experience and Ill be using Flame again!

2022-05-14My water heater was not working after the gas was shut off for unrelated work. I called Flame to come check it out and they sent Rob out almost immediately. It was a simple fix, but Rob explained everything to me in an easy to understand manner, whereas I may be able to do it myself should it happen again. Rob has been to my home before and has done excellent work. Hes polite, professional, friendly and efficient. I hope Flame has a reward system and Rob receives one for the excellent work he does.

2022-04-01I was with Custom Temperature Control in Clawson and Flame since has taken over. Flame H&C has not missed a beat. Their customer service is world class and this is a lost art these days. Everyone in the office is amazing and my Technician Gavin is a very nice and professional young man. Super organized, friendly and humble. Flame made a great decision hiring this young man. I will be staying with Flame for as long as I own my home. Highly recommended. Thanks to the Entire Flame Team

2022-03-18Flame Heating,Cooling,Plumbing and Electrical is most definitely a professional company. For my first call to them they sent out a quote, made an appointment for an installation of a new hot water tank. Before the professional employee arrived, they had sent me an email showing his picture little history on him and his professionalism. Austin was absolutely wonderful and explaining everything he was doing, everything was done in a timely matter and my old water tank taken out. A very clean installation. Everything was installed neatly they laid down blue matting so my home stayed clean. They walked me through everything in detail. Truly appreciate and very impressed.. highly recommended.
