These people went above and beyond for our family this weekend. We had a last minute destination wedding and they really came through for us. Super friendly and great rates. Beautiful rooms very well kept. We will be staying with them again and highly recommend it to anyone staying in the northern region. A++
My husband and I stayed here for our one year wedding anniversary and we were extremely disappointed. Right when we got to our room, we noticed that our lock did not work on our door. We told the person at the front desk and he said “I’m sorry, I don’t know what to do, I’ll have the maintenance guy look at it.” The “maintenance guy” never fixed our lock and the hotel itself does not lock to the outside public, so we felt very unsafe the entire weekend. We literally locked our own door with my husband’s belt. Also, the staff does not clean your room or even empty your garbage AT ALL during your stay, which they don’t mention to you upon arrival, so we we ran out of towels, soap, toilet paper, etc. and had to flag the front desk person down for refills, which by the way, there is rarely anyone sitting at the front desk. Towards the end of our trip the front desk person was literally avoiding us, running into a back room whenever he saw my husband and I about to walk in. The reviews on this hotel were good so we booked without hesitation, but we both wished we had booked at the hotel right next door and agreed we will NEVER stay here again.
This place doesnt look like much from the road but once inside we had a great suite with a sliding door that went out to the river. You can dock your boat right behind the hotel. The rooms are a bit dated but very clean and comfortable and what a great view. Lilacs and green grass. we watched the baby ducks paddle around the boats. Excellent customer service and friendly ppl. Will definitely be back!
Dad stays here every time he comes to visit. Older building but well kept. Plumbing seems a little slow. Maybe because the building is old? Staff is always nice and helpful. The dock/pier out side the hotel really needs some TLC. Beautiful views and majority of the time nice and quiet. In walking distance to Walgreens and Big boys.
I booked through Expedia, and when we called the Inn the first time, around 2pm on Thursday, nobody answered. There was a sign informing us that nobody would be around to service the room because of COVID19, which is understandable, but staff was rarely at the desk, and didnt answer the number that was left to call, so getting fresh towels or trash bags, or coffee, or fixing our one key card that stopped working, or new batteries for the dying remote was difficult. This place survives solely on the view, which is gorgeous, and there are ducks! The beds are comfortable, and other than the chair arms pictured, the place was clean, although VERY dated, the table provided is of a decent size though, and the bathroom was spacious, though equally dated. There are 2 chairs and a small table outside to sit on, which really was great with your coffee first thing in the morning. The tiles were poorly superglued together and not exactly attached to the actual foor in places. The outside door nearest our room was pretty filthy tbh, and this place is bordering on falling into dilapidation if its not updated in the next few years, the hallways are visibly stained, at least in the area we stayed in.All in all it was *fine*. But just *fine*.
Its a very spacious hotel. Im not but great for anyone handicapped. The front desk clerk was very nice. The beds were very comfortable and the river view is great. Its also conveniently located next to a Big Boy so food is just a walk away. The only issue I had was the wifi didnt work but who cares, and the dispenser soap in the shower was empty but I already brought my own (same brand they use) so I didnt call to request more. All in all I would highly recommend it!
My family and I stayed there and were so happy with our stay! It only 20 minutes from Mackinaw City! There was lots of room and we had a waterfront view. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was very good. There were bagels, cream cheese, coffee and yogurt! I enjoyed my stay there more then the Mission Point Resort on Mackinaw Island! Thank you for the great experience!
Front desk staff great, free breakfast no hot items but diverse, all rooms open out onto the waterway. We had a lovely patio to enjoy what Im sure would be lots of water traffic in the summer. Lost one star for lack of bathroom towels in room, thin pillows ( 3 for 2 people), charging outlet only on one sode of bed, and rips/holes in room blinds. Nitpicking yes, but...
We really enjoyed our stay at the Fleetwood Inn. The view of the river is terrific, and you can fish right off the docks just feet from your room. The staff was wonderful, and there is access to a 24 hour gym right across the street. My only complaint is that the beds were pretty uncomfortable. We will stay here again the next time we are in the area.
Stoped in late at night praying they had a room available after we left one of the nasty motels I have ever seen. Devang was at the front desk and helped us. He was great gave us extra blankets made sure we had everything we needed. Was so sweet and kind. Room was clean beds were comphy. Nice breakfast. Definitely going to stay there again. Especially if they have the same staff working.
I have been staying here for over twenty years on business trips, both in summer and winter. The owners are great people and they have pride of ownership which I can see by the great maintenance of the hotel. The rooms are large and clean with all the amenities. The best thing is that the rooms all face the Cheboygan River so it is a nice peaceful view from the patio or balcony. It is only a handful of minutes from the wonderful downtown, Lake Huron, and scenic Mullet Lake. You can walk to Big Boy for a hearty breakfast, a Walgreens, or a large grocery store. If you are here during the Summer be sure to try the Hat-Ma-Tack restaurant in a setting out of the early last century.
If you have the opportunity to stay here, you will not be disappointed. The view of the river from your spacious and immaculately clean room will be enhanced by the gracious hospitality of the owners, Mike and Angela. A mom and pops, bed and breakfast feel. The Vanfleets make you feel at home away from home. I have stayed here on and off for the last 18 years and would recommend anyone to enjoy the Fleetwood experience. Dock your boat right outside your room and have immediate access the the inland waterway as well as the Straits of Mackinaw. Paradise at your fingertips. No matter your reason for coming to the tip of the mitten, your visit will be enhanced in the comfortable and relaxing environment this hotel offers.
I really enjoyed my stay at your Hotel! I have been to many hotels that proclaim to be clean neat and orderly, but your Hotel is truly neat and clean and you guys were very accommodating to our very picky needs!!! We came in by boat and even found a shuttle for us to get get food at a late hour!!! All around beautiful place to stay!!!!For a family owned Hotel....Great Job!!!!!
At first glance from the outside looked great, once we checked in the room looked out dated. Bed was not great but we made it work.It was not until some 6 hours after we checked out that we got a call from the front desk saying we did drugs in the room & smoked in the room & had a party. The man stated (from what we could understand) that people complained about smelling smoke. Now if that was the case why wouldnt they say something when we checked out. We never smoked or did drugs in the room. Yes we smell like smoke its on our person we smoke in our car due to it raining the 7 hours we were @ this place. So yes they are the cheaper place to stay in Cheboygan but be warned seams like there trying to make that difference of money up in other ways. Best bet stay @ the Best Western River Terrace stayed there many times & never had any problems & they have a pool & real beds.Only reason we went here is to try & support the community, lesson learned we will not be staying here or recommend any friends or family staying at this place.WRT
Every fall we do a pilgrimage to Indian River and Mullet Lake. This is where we stay. 100% consistent and comfortable for us and what our family likes. AWESOME new dock for your boat and the on-the-water access is what keeps us coming back!Reasonable rates and very clean.
Well Id like to start by saying the management at this hotel was incredible you check in they offer extra blankets they offer extra pillows the rooms are extremely clean and just nicely done.. we will definitely come back and we will definitely stay at this hotel they have docks right out the back where you can park your boat if youd like to they have a really nice continental breakfast setup they keep it nice and full coffee in the rooms nice large refrigerators I really recommend this to anyone coming into the city
Smelly rooms no towels terrible breakfast bar a pit bull tried attacking us thru the screen door at night not worth the money rust around heater in bathroom 3 inch gap under door people also lived there I thought this was a hotel not a place to live loud partying all night from above us bathroom fan extremely loud
I stayed here for one night only.ProsLocation - in the Cheboygan city very ni e place. Morning was quiet peaceful pleasant , little drizzle and morning coffee in the balcony made my day. Far from noise of mackinaw cityView of lakeStaff were niceIt gives Lotion shampoo conditioner of good qualityConsIt is an old property but it wont bother if you r staying for 1 or 2 daysIts a 2 floor building so there is no lift

2021-09-15Although the rooms are dated, they were clean and the view of the water are fantastic. Sit in the back patio and feed the birds or watch the fish jump. Friendly people. We stay their twice a year as we head to and fro to upper Michigan from Florida.Lady two years no breakfast but lots of places to eat near by.Good value for a day or twos stay.

2021-09-07Great location on the water. Watch the wildlife and the boats go in and out. Very quiet too. But rooms are out dated and need some work. Carpet is getting gross. Holes in the walls. No breakfast.

2021-10-05This was a nice little hotel right on the Cheboygan River in Cheboygan, Michigan. The rooms were decent sized (we had a king size bed) but the absolute best part of our stay here was our balcony over looking the river. My wife spent every minute in our room out here enjoying the river. If Im ever this far north again I will be coming back to this place

2021-09-12Ask for the bottom floor! Beautiful view, fed the ducks in the morning. Your paying for the view. In the room, there was some cobwebs in the corners, but everything else seemed clean. Also no breakfast, FYI. Would still go back and visit!

2021-05-29The outside was a little rough, but the room impressed me. The bathroom was huge, but very pricey. We paid $475 for 2 nights, 4 people. I loved the view outside, but the docks were wobbly. And also made me nervous to walk on. As soon as we walked in, I noticed the cracks on the tiles, me and my best friend, were running straight to go outside. The screen door is very, very hard, stuck. It was difficult to open.I honestly didn’t really like the swinging lamps. But after all, think about it. I was looking through some of these reviews, and some of them are so chaotic, I can’t even explain. It’s probably just a little family trying to make money by doing his/her job. It may not have been the best, but it wasn’t the worst. Have a good stay.

2021-08-10Not the place to go if you are disabled--no elevator, just a long set of steps to climb--very difficult with my hip replacement. The carpet in the room had a huge stain in the middle. My wife put a towel over it so we didnt have to look at it. The easy chair had a broken spring in it so when I sat down, it went all the way back and dumped me on the floor. The AC was barely functional and the room was very warm. No table on my side on the bed--no place to put my glass of water, medicine, or glasses. No continental breakfast. I thought we were put on the second floor because all the hotel rooms on the first floor were full, but later found out there were very few guests because it was a Sunday night. We were sorry we stayed at this hotel.

2021-08-02The view outside my room was beautiful! Unfortunately the bathroom was filled with tiny ants. There was barely any water pressure to flush the toilet and the shower water pressure was a joke. One of the blankets on the bed had what looked like a spot of chocolate that you could tell wasnt washed. The bedding was all wrinkled and looked like the top blanket was very old.. the room didnt smell horrible but it smelled like an old persons house. And this is petty but why would you have 2 of the same exact pictures on the wall?

2021-08-15Get a room on the channel, watching the boats and wildlife made for a really relaxing stay. If you have a boat, they have slips on the water available. No continental breakfast during CIVID but that is probably for the best safety-wise. All-in--all a great place to stay and close to everything downtown.

2021-06-28Clean and pet friendly. We loved having a ground floor room to let our dog out from. Staff was very friendly & responsive. Also great water pressure & hot water for those who enjoy a nice shower. My only complaint is they still used -covid- as a reason for not serving breakfast.... when others hotels still do offer it... Cheboygan luckily has many great breakfast spots & this hotel is located downtown so you have easy access to food and grocery. The drive up to St Ignes & Mackinac is also a breeze and quite scenic from here.
