Very nice people, well organized. Cars are raised up, making it much easier to access parts. We received a list of car locations by row, showing only cars whose parts were interchangeable. This experience was so much better than I imagined it would be in single digit temps. A Plus - U pull open 7 days a week, not to be confused with their repair shop next door.
I bought an project car for my kids and we have been able to save a TON of money using u-pull. It’s a great staff and nice organized. They have more than one of the car I need and they post inventory online with VIN numbers so you can see if it will match your car BEFORE you go there. Worth the $2 to get in even if it’s just to browse. I’m on my 6th trip tomorrow, but only because my cars a mess and they have what I need. LOL.
I love going here and getting stuff I need or want for wayyyyyyy less then Ill pay on eBay or anything else..its like an adults playground..you get free rain of the yard with no rush and is always polite....this is my go to yard to get what I need and want..thanks again for the pleasure of getting what I need!!!! Will be back as ALWAYS
My favorite scrap yard. They have a huge selection thats constantly changing and their prices are great. I got two of the same part cause neither was in the best condition and they only charged me for one. Plus only 30 cents for a year warranty. I always check here first and they almost always have the make and model Im looking for, usually a few of them to choose from.
Probably the best U-Pull in the surrounding area imo. Ive done extensive searches for specific vehicles and these guys have had the most inventory consistently for a long period of time like leagues above. Also they have the place next store which sells already pulled high quality used parts if you strike out at the U-Pull it does cost more but itll be in great shape and guaranteed to work. All in all this can be a one stop shop I say can because of how many vehicles there are in existence so saying its guaranteed is far fetched but you have the best chance possible here I HIGHLY recommend starting your search here.
Been going here for a couple of years. Ive pulled everything from transmissions to axles, differentials, fuel injectors, fuel pumps, radiators, blower motors, etc. I think they may be the only salvage yard in the metro Detroit area that when you go inside and tell them what you are looking for, will print out a list of every vehicle on the lot and where on the lot they are located that has the compatible parts youre looking for. Everyone else youre on your own to know which parts from which vehicles will work with your vehicle. Remember, auto manufacturers will often enter into joint builds with other car companies and a water pump for a Nissan could fit a Ford if it used the same engine. I have not come across any other salvage yard other than Fox Auto that has been able to give me a printed list like that.
Ive only been to the yard twice. First time, to scout for the parts I was hoping to find after seeing a Facebook post with new inventory. Second visit, I was able to find and pull the parts I needed in 20 minutes or so right as they were closing. Friendly and helpful staff. Definitely would look their way again should I need to salvage anything! In and out both times for under $100 collectively.
Great place to explore all those hard to find parts for all your cars. Bring your tools to save $$, pull your own parts, or use their customer service desk in the adjacent building to see what parts they already have ready for you. With the Parts Galore yard (temporarily?) closed in Flat Rock, this is the place!
Being my first visit to this particular yard I was sceptical, but I had an easy experience. The polite staff, quick and clean pulling process and price made it a breeze. The whole yard was well kept and organized, with calling ahead to check on if what I was looking for was available i didnt struggle at all to find what I needed. I can safely say after this visit I will be returning.
Awesome customer service, as well as prices. Could not be more pleased. They have a running water sink as well as a hand dryer after youre done so you can wash your hands and they even had a band aid and hydrogen peroxide for me when i sliced my finger open. I couldnt be more pleased. The cars werent that picked over compared to some other junkyards, and I got a lot of parts for my car. 10/10 would pull again!
Amazing place to be if you have an older car that needs little repairs here and there. Youll find yourself saving tons of money just pulling your own parts and doing the repair yourself. The front staff is very knowledgeable with any questions you may have, and actually know a good deal about cars. Very smart with with parts interchange. If they dont have your exact car, theres many parts that are compatible from other models. Think envoy/trailblazer. And best of all, they will print you out a little slip with the row number and color of any car youre looking for. Quick and easy!
The hours on the website are not accurate, they close the yard 30 minutes before the posted time on the website and google. Drove 45 minutes to get laughed at by staff, was directed to the signs on the door, this didnt help me at all. Would have comeback the next day but did not appreciate the go screw yourself attitude and bought the part online instead.
Great place to buy car parts. Do not waste your money buying a brand new one before you go to Fox Parts. You can find parts just like new for as cheap as eight dollars, while the brand new one is around a hundred dollars or more. They have no tools available for customers. Do not forget to take yours.
Complete scam. Sent my kid to pick up a 1 pc drive shaft listed online as $27. Guy charges my kid for an axle. I call to wonder how they confused a drive shaft for an axle and Lance tells me that what we call them. So you cant trust what their pricing says because they charge you whatever they feel like calling a part.It has a $10 core... it would be laughable to show up with there with a drive shaft and see them complain that I have to bring in an axle to get the core charge back.
This is the biggest and nicest auto salvage Ive been to. All the cars are off the ground, the rows are neat and labeled, and they give you a slip that tells you where the cars you are looking for are and even what color they are. Paid a little more than i was quoted at other salvage yards for the same part, but not much more, and it was kind of worth it. I also saw other guys in the yard using cherry pickers that seemed to be supplied by the yard.
I found the staff to be both knowledgeable and friendly. Place seems to be very well organized. Yard wasnt a giant swamp mess. However place seems a lot bigger from the outside. I found next to nothing for the multiple vehicles i was looking for parts for. I strongly suggest calling ahead and verifying whats on the lot and what part your after before driving out here.
They usually always have what you need for your car. They DO charge a $2 fee per person and they do not allow anyone under 18 to enter the yard. I would suggest bringing your own tools too as the cars are no pre scrapped and I believe they dont provide tools. Friendly staff.
They wont tell me if a car they have is a sedan or coupe, only a sedan has parts compatible with my car. I called, they wouldnt tell me on the phone. I was relatively close today, so I stopped by during their posted hours, and they wouldnt let me in the yard (it was too close to closing time, but dont post your hours as until 5 if you dont let people in until 5…). Nope, their solution is to drive 40 minutes roundtrip an another day, pay $2 to get into the yard, and hope the 1 car they have listed is a sedan and not a coupe.Another time they wanted to charge me $20 for a (single) handful of small screws and plastic bits ($5 wouldve been reasonable). No thanks, Ill be finding another junkyard for my parts needs.
My first visit was last year to repair my gfs car after a minor crash. The staff provided a list of compatible vehicles and where they were located. Beyond the staff, other folks in the yard were also helpful. I did have one part that wasnt cross compatible and they accepted the return. They also honored all the core charges for damaged parts.
Used to come here all the time, but last time I was there they charged me an INSANE amount for an engine and wouldnt work with me AT ALL. Super rude and disrespectful the entire time. Not going back there again, unless they get the old staff back who were pleasant to work with and knew what they were doing. Nice yard but i still give them the 1 star because of the service.
I Was Able to Go To This New Place Which Is Very Nice And Was Able To Get Parts For My Ford Econoline Pretty Cheap I Was Going So Fast That I Grabbed The Wrong Part Was Going To Try To make It Back Over To Exchange It For The Right One. So Hopefully I Will Be able To With A Receipt.
This place sucks its a scam. they charge you money to get into the lot, tell you they have the vehicle. The vehicle could be stripped down already or the last person pulling parts destroyed it. So you walk the lot find the vehicle to find all the parts are striped off. Walk back to the office I said do I get my entry fee back, nope. So I basically paid to walk a mile. If anyone wants I have a nice clean 5 acre yard, I will charge you and you can come walk it. I wont go back, way too many free salvage yards out there. I gave it one star because I had to. Coming soon boycott Fox Auto Parts on Facebook......30 min later. I went to E&M Auto Parts located at Van Born and Morton Taylor and I asked if they had the vehicle? I was let in the lot for FREE, pulled the part myself, paid them the same price Fox Auto was going to charge me and walked out with my part.
Called from 100 miles away and they told me they definitely have parts I need so I drive all way there and had to pay $2.00 admittance fee for me and my brother and we went out into yard to walk all around to sites listed they gave us and not a single part they told me they had but the wrong types were there. They were wrong. All day wasted many hours and gasoline wasted.
Horrrrible.. Im a dealer so i spend thousands at salvage yards but i agree this place is a scam.. They charge u core charges on nearly everything! Its bad enough that thier prices are significantly more than the average yard then they charge u core charge on a fiber glass bumper? Core support? Wat are u going to get off a plastic anything? Nothing .they know folks are at auctions and donot keep that crap as a core no one does so they are getting over all across the board.. I avoid wenever i can try ryans or parts galore much better prices
Ive seen some changes to their pricing stucture that is more aligned with the u-pull industry. As with any salvage yard you need to stop by frequently as they update their inventory. If your vehicle is 10 years or older then they most likely have one of your models there. Their tire prices are still too high in my opinion.Their parts store next door (non-u-pull) needs to go through the same transformation. Their prices are more geared for repair shops and insurance jobs not the DIY person. For example I priced out a front differential for an 07 Suburban and the prices came in at $1000 (used), $1200 (used with warranty), $1500 (rebuilt). The rebuild kit for this unit is only $175 (not including ring and pinion).
Dont think i will be going back here i go out there for a wiper motor and i was told it would be $15 plus a $2 core i get it go to pay and they want almost $35 out the door i can get a new one for $50-$60 i looked for some saturn parts and they didnt have any its a joke
Overcharge me over Price Place charge me $32 for a fuse box that you can get any other junkyard for 1799 go to US Auto Lane Ryans Auto Parts in Detroit or Parts Galore this place is twice as expensive as any of them the people behind the counter are very rude not helpful they do not know what part is what this place is disgusting compared to any other yard Ive ever been to In My Life the biggest rip-off of my life

2021-08-07Best junk yard around.I came here to help a friend pull a transmission out for a Ford focus. Lot is always filled with cars/trucks and has the largest selection Ive seen in the hundreds. They have wheelbarrows, pullers and stations to clean-up once your done. You have to bring your own tools and pull the items yourself, but they give you a warranty of about 45 days on whatever you buy. Youll have to go find a d get another one but its nice to know they dont screw you over on it. It is a 2 dollar entrance fee per person as well.If youre doing it yourself and want cheep parts this is the place to go.

2022-06-29The staff here is really nice! Iv been coming since 2006 and recently have been going alot more due to my vehicle. Recently I came last minute and they still helped me put my tire on so I could make it to work the next day. Very much recommend to family and friends!

2022-06-20Staff was great, and the cars are very accessible to get the parts you need. I recommend visiting this salvage yard for the parts your looking. This salvage yard even has a good location to clean up after you retrieve the parts that youre looking for.

2022-06-25Some years back they installed a engine into one our cars that’s still running fine to this date. I have a 2012 Mustang GT that I’ve been trying to get back on the road and Fox gave me my dream car back. Very professional and nice folks that run that place. A+ work and customer service!

2022-06-15Was looking for parts for my trans am was told “we have a few in the yard” I drive 45 mins to get there to be told at the sign in that they don’t have any cars. I spend 30 bucks in gas to be told I’m not sure who you talked to. Do not waste your time here visit a yard who will value their customers time and actually look up your car when you call.
