Comment: GoCar Tours of San Francisco is one of the highlights of Sista Trip 2024, the wonderful retreat |with my baby Sista| filled with faith, fun, food and wandering afoot! After enjoying a city Big Bus tour, an Alcatraz tour and a Bay Area tour, the GoCar tour was the perfect vessel to experience the Crookedest Street, O.J. Simpson’s high school and the marina area.Georgia, the new hire, was awesome in assuring we were well versed in the operational aspects of the car.I highly recommend the GoCar experience.

Comment: Giving it a 5. What a blast ! GPS is quirky at moments and the volume knob jumpy. We took the 3 Hour tour, and what a way to see and experience S.F. Next trip maybe Muir Woods Park or Sausalito 🤷🏼♂️. Absolutely would Recommend. And the Staff was Very Friendly and Helpful . A quick safety video and youre on the road. And simple to drive or control. Will even make it to Coit Tower or Lombard. 4thumbs up on goCart #16.

Comment: Taking a GoCar tour in San Francisco is a great idea to explore the coastline areas by the Golden Gate. Youll enjoy lots of green spaces on a somewhat ‘clear day’ for hiking, picnicking, and views. We were able to explore some of the touch points on the GPS within a 3hr time frame.1st time doing this and for sure gave me a lasting impression - would highly recommend for those who just need that time to be slightly spontaneous while still organized with how to spend your day outside.

We took our children ages 8 and 10 and they had a blast. The only thing concerning was the fact that we were part of traffic but because we moved slowly cars tended to go around us which is intimidating when you are so small. Weve been telling all our friends how fun it was!

The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 was because the upgraded GPS tablet stopped working. We called and explained what happened . They sent some one with a new car to where we stopped; on the road we went again. Would recommend 1st time visitors to the city to tour this way. The history and directions are told to you through speakers on the car. Easy to hear and follow.

We booked an hour tour (wish we had booked a longer one), but got stuck in traffic and went over our time, even though we never strayed from the route. Comment: Im giving this location 2 stars due to the post experience handling of how they chose to not honor the $80 refund. My wife and I are always in the Bay/Napa area for jazz and business. So this one time we took our cousins and friends. We planned out an array of activities that started in Napa. As we were at the later part of our getaway. I suggested GoCar Tours. Ive seen them every time I was in town. Everyone agreed. So we picked the twilight hours. 3 hours from 2 pm - 5 pm. We arrive, sign in, and look at instructional and safety videos. Then, we proceed to pick our adventure. We chose to do the Golden Gate Bridge Sausalito tour in the faster 2 seater scooter bike vehicle. This vehicle takes on all SF hills. Were told that the GPS will start when you get to the corner. So were off enjoying the streets and sights of San Francisco scooter style. We get to the picture taking point at the Golden Gate Bridge. Take our pictures and feel excited to cross the bridge scooter style. This is where the problem starts. We proceed while noticing the gps isnt taking over the bridge. So I pull over and call GoCar to confirm which line am I supposed to follow. Okay, confirmed, follow red lines. So were following red lines, were going through the park, up a hill with gorgeous homes, cruising the cold coastline, back through the crowded park, and into a neighborhood. We pull over and make the call to GoCar because our time is dwindling. While awaiting information from GoCar. My cousin informs me that his gps is blank. He has no lines. His gps stopped displaying lines after we left Golden Gate Bridge picture stop. So hes just following me. We find out that my gps is on a different route. Were on the city tour. GoCar says my cousin gps was the Sausalito route. We had to do a FaceTime call so GoCar could see the screen. I guess to see if we were being truthful. So after 25 minutes of trying to get a signal of the new route to just finish with Lombard Street, which was an awesome short experience. I always thought it was longer. So were back at GoCar. The asian gentleman at the desk said he would give us $40 each credit because our friends did not participate. Plus, he will not charge the $19 each insurance. Cool accountability received, and were pleased. This was Sunday, April 28. On Friday, I called GoCar because I noticed I had not received my refund . On Friday, May 3rd, I speak to a gentleman, and he takes my number because hes going to get to the bottom of what was promised. He said an outside agency handles refunds, so they would have to send them a message to refund. But, first, allow him to communicate with the person who promised me. He took my number because hes supposed to call me back with information. Now its Thursday, May 9th. No call from GoCar. My next step is to call again while also reaching out to the BBB for being unprofessional after an admitted error and a suggested return of charge.

Comment: If you’re visiting San Francisco then a few hours in a GoCar is a must! We got to see so much more of the city than we would have been able to walking or public transport. The car will guide you on a set route, with the option of taking detours to see additional things along the way. The voice in the car will read out tourist information, as well as helping you to navigate and giving lane guidance on the roads. If you’re nervous about driving in the US, then this is a good way to experience it - the car only takes you on quieter roads. For the most part, the locals/other drivers are considerate of you. You’re able to stop the car and pull over for photos whenever you like and there is ample parking. A HIGHLY recommended thing to do in SF.

Comment: This is pricey, but was a very fun way to see a lot of San Francisco with kids. I wish there were a few more options for choosing a route, and it was hard for me to see the screen while driving, because my polarized sunglasses didnt work with it. Fortunately, my nine year old was on it! By the end of the day, I wish I could have skipped some of the neighborhoods, because the traffic was getting heavier. Many drivers were patient, others were less so, but the GoCar folks did a pretty good job preparing us.

Comment: The GoCar experience in San Francisco was fantastic and we’d definitely recommend you do it! You get to some places where tour buses aren’t allowed, and you see some amazing sights! The information from the digital tour guide helped us plan things for the rest of our trip, so make sure you do this early on in your trip! We did this from 1200 til 1500 on a Monday, and traffic wasn’t an issue. We had such a great time!

Comment: I have never had so much fun on a tour in my life! My 10-year old son and I took the Go Car out for a day around SF. The staff was fantastic, the experience was stellar and informative and we stayed out 2.5 hours longer than we were supposed to because we were having such an awesome time. The car is easy to drive (even though it’s a little scary at first), the route have so much cool information that I had no idea about, and it was just absolutely fantastic. We didn’t want to return it or stop. You have to do this tour - it’s gives you so much flexibility to do what you want.

We did a three hour tour and we learned so much about San Francisco and visited parts we never knew existed. The guided tour is so informative as well. We did our tour in April of 2024. I recommend bringing a jacket as it can get chilly. Also sun glasses for some eye protection against the wind. Overall an excellent experience and well worth the money.

Comment: Fantastic way to see San Francisco! We rented the large electric trike and had an amazing day. Staff were very friendly. The map and electronic tour guide were great. We rented for the full day and could have easily still done more.If you are going to rent for more than a few hours, do consider if you want to pack a lunch or a few snacks to take with you, water etc. That is the only thing we would have done differently.Highly recommend and would rent again if we return to SF.

Comment: We took the 3 hour tour and our only regret was that we didnt reserve 4 hours. We had an absolute BLAST! Cant recommend enough. After adding the basic insurance $19.99, $10 tablet/gps guide (a must) & a couple of other nickel & dime stuff, we paid about just over $200 per person and no regrets!My recommendation to the staff is to assure their customers that there are plenty of bathroom stops along the route that are easy to spot, the beeping sound you hear is your turn signal & going over ALL buttons & switches before driving. My recommendation to anyone reading this is to be picky about the stops you make, and make each stop brief. Three hours goes by VERY quickly. OR you can come back late for an extra cost (dont know how much). Also, we started our tour early, around 8:30am on a Friday and experienced NO traffic. If youre worried about hills, no need. The provided route avoids steep hills.

We chose not to stop at the Golden Gate Bridge because we were biking it later in the week...this allowed us more time to explore some other things.I was nervous about driving it, but it wasnt bad at all. Other drivers are very patient and accommodating...unlike here in the south! I wish we had enough time on our trip to rent one for a 2nd time!The audio portion was informative and helpful. Comment: We love the GoCar ride it’s pretty cool. We’ve seen most of the top must see sights. I recommend getting the 3 hour or more so you can stop for 5-10 mins on each area and explore a bit or take pictures. This will also give you opportunity to stretch your legs so you don’t get cramps in between. The GoCar is kind of small and the seat will get uncomfortable in the long run. So getting out for a selfie or explore the area will help. You don’t need to worry about traffic the navigation will only take you to east road with less traffic. The navigation was very easy to follow and if you get off tract the navigation will tell you so.The check in process was quick the staff were accommodating and friendly. You should pay attention to the video it’s a guide how to navigate the vehicle.I suggest keeping a slow speed so you can enjoy the scene and vicinity instead on focusing on your driving skills. Also don’t forget to set your timer when you leave and empty your bladder. overall we enjoyed this ride so much we fill like we’re a kid again.

Comment: Pretty interesting experience for me and my wife. Especially loved the curvy downhills at Lombard Street.Be early so that you will miss the heavy traffic. They have a marker before the Golden Gate to made a U-turn, and we followed the Lombard Street segment, making it back with 7 minutes to spare. And most roads were easy to clear, with vehicles generally willing to give way to GoCars.Probably only issues (or rather be careful) are:1) The side mirrors arent exactly firm, so take note when changing lanes.2) The roads are bumpy at max speeds, take care when doing videos or photos along the route.3) Its hard to hear your partner or the audio when going around at high speeds, so take it easy.4) For those not used to driving in the US, the roads are relatively safe to drive, but some overtaking is required where vehicles are parked anywhere.5) Its difficult to navigate and drive solo, since the tablet is far right.But its really fun, didnt expect to enjoy it and was worried. Will take another personal trip to Lombard again.

Comment: Five stars and bring your sunscreen. Even as a local, you have to check this out. I can tell you right now that my friend and I had more fun than anyone on the road yesterday. We booked the seven hour tour online and had no problem seeing everything and more.Our only recommendations would be to avoid Embarcadero at 4 PM and apply a layer of sunscreen before you spend all day in a convertible. We loved the talking tour guide and particularly enjoyed the tunnel joke.If the weather is nice and you want to see all the sights, book yourself a GoCar Tour. You won’t regret it.

Comment: These carts are the best. The drivers are very respectful of the carts driving amongst them. I took the 2 hr tour but it took 2:45 to finish. We stopped 2x. The 3 hr one is probably the best. Stay on the path because (as they mention) the gps doesn’t guide you throughout the city from just anywhere. Gets you right up to the Golden Gate Bridge and views are spectacular just past the GGB. There are trunks in the carts for stuff. Suggestion would be to get the early bird special (rent from 10 to 11) and get 3 hrs for the price of 2.

I think it was nice, fun and without a big group of people, what to expect?- It is a bit pricey- The car is small, I don’t recommend to share 1 car if you are too tall or big- The car doesn’t do reverse, you have to go down and pull the car to do reverse- Be careful with the traffic areas- You need a driving license if you wanna drive- It is nice to stop and see different places but it will take a lot of time, we got 3 hrs ride and I still think it wasn’t enoughEnjoy!

Comment: Great experience and definitely a must if youre a tourist! Check in was a little long; mostly going over routes, watching a video, picking a helmet etc.. so my advice is to get there early. No issues driving it, parking it, or feeling pressured by other cars. Expect people to take pictures of you randomly. Also, we were stuck in traffic at The Embarcadero for over an hour which was horrible! The GPS feature is a must though, its super accurate and kinda fun/funny. At times we got off route but that was our fault. You can get off anywhere, park, and walk around. I recommend the Japanese Gardens! Also, be prepared to be out in the open air it can get really cold.

We paid for the full day so we could take our time, get out and eat, etc. We reserved online and did the waiver then the confirmation email said to arrive at 9:45am. We arrived then but they were closed until 10am. We didn’t get let in the building until 10 and checked in first since we had our waiver done. Then we had to wait for others to check in before they started the safety video. It a little was frustrating to lose an hour of time waiting around, but once we got on the road we had a great time. It was chilly so we had to bundle up. My only regret was that I didn’t bring gloves. The car was easy to drive but a little tight in the turns for two adults. Also, since it doesn’t go in reverse there were about three times we had to get out and push it backwards. Also it’s a bit pricey. Still worth it, we thought.

Comment: I was not sure what to expect when I initially booked, but this really was a great experience! The website is slightly confusing - while booking, it doesnt specify which car is which. The electric car (E-sport) is the newer black car that can drive on highways and the smaller rounder car is the V-sport. And when booking on the website you are booking for how many cars you need, not how many ppl taking the tour (dont make the same mistake I did and book 2 cars instead of 1 but they refunded me for the difference). The tour itself was great, the gps was very easy to follow. If you are a slightly bigger person like myself, it may be a little hard to get in and out as the cars are very small but even my skinny friend had trouble as well. After getting over the initial looks from looking like a full on tourist, it was great! Would definitely recommend especially if you have never been to San Francisco.

I only knock of a star due to the rather rubbish staff at the hiring location who didnt explain things very well and quickly disappeared instead of helping out. I loved the gps guided tours with the history and being able to cross a whole bunch of things off my bucket list in one day. The only problem I had was the actual vehicle itself. It was disgusting and in really bad shape. Dirty and falling apart. I can not believe that it is still on the road as it is. My other issue was that these cars are not made for bigger people. Had I known that, I would have booked a different type of vehicle or something. It made for a very uncomfortable day. Comment: I rented a GoCar for my birthday in San Francisco. Less than a mile away from the GoCar rental facility, the car that my sister and I were in shut off. We couldn’t get it to start back up. It was a horrible experience because we stopped (involuntarily) at the corner of a light. The car was blocking traffic and city buses, so we had to push it out the way.Customer service was very lacking when I called for help. They eventually brought us a 2nd GoCar, but stopping cost us over 30 minutes.Additionally, the different routes feel a bit like a purposeful set up. The GPS doesn’t tell you which way to turn to stay in the route you chose. I would recommend writing down those specific directions because it’s really easy to forget. My group and I ended up getting confused, and we took the wrong route back. This caused us to be charged for a lot more time.Overall, the cars are fun, but I don’t think the experience was worth the price I paid especially considering the car breaking down.

I recommend paying the extra $10 to get a tablet sized GPS unit to ensure youre going the right way. The cars themselves are pretty comfortable and go up to about 65mph although you will likely go around 20 to 35 majority of the tour. We used the gas side by side car but they do that an all electric model that looks alot not comfortable. You have to try a tour of youre in town. It will not disappoint.

We both live in the City and would see these little yellow cars driving around on the weekend and my boyfriend thought it would be fun to do this ourselves. There were so many new facts we learned about the City thanks to the included GPS (we named her Sunny) and sites around the Golden Gate bridge weve never seen before. I would definitely recommend purchasing a tour for more than 2 hours. I cant imagine only having the GoCar for an hour. There is so much to see and the usual SF street traffic eats away at time. Our 4-hour experience was the perfect amount of time and allowed us to stop at a few places for photo-ops and even Golden Gate Park for a 30-minute picnic.My only complaint was the disorganized process of obtaining the GoCar. I made an appointment 2 weeks before online for a Saturday morning at 10 AM. We arrived on time and didnt leave the office until 11:15 AM with our GoCar. I overheard the staff talking about being overbooked and not having enough keys. Luckily, we got our GoCar, but there were so many people behind us for their tours that I dont think everyone actually got a car that day. Definitely arrive early, and opt for the morning tours. Expect to wait awhile. I would still say its worth it and made for a very fun memory!

So know you may have to skip a few stops if you want to stop for food.The blue line tour GPS is not good at all. We unfortunately spent more time trying to get back in track than seeing the sights. There are a few good stops on this tour line so wouldnt recommend missing.

If youre based in Union Square (as most tourists are), I recommend taking the cable car up to the Fishermans Wharf location and starting your GoCar tour from there, heading toward the Golden Gate Bridge, down the coast, and through Golden Gate Park. Youll end us going through some really cute neighborhoods, too. We only had a few hours to spare while on a business trip, so we didnt have much time to stop at each of the notable places or take any of the little detours, but we had sooooo much fun, anyways. I was a little worried about navigating San Francisco traffic, but it was no problem at all on the routes we were guided along. Comment: I had such a fun time zipping though San Francisco’s streets in this silly little 3-wheeled motorcycle in a flashy helmet. Awesome photo opportunities everywhere. We got the early bird special which is 9-12 (but due to long line, we didn’t get out until 9:50). If I had to do it again, I would take the full day tour (as we could only do the short version of the tour)..and plan for some stops. The GPS tour is probably the highlight, since it points out historical facts along the way. And adds some humor. Made a few wrong turns. But it wasn’t a big deal. Found our way back just in time.

Comment: We were able to see more of San Francisco than we ever could have hoped! After taking the three hour tour my only complaint I would have would be the GPS volume, we just couldnt hear her over our driving on the busier streets. Overall amazing experience and made our trip very memorable!

Comment: YOU HAVE TO DO THIS!!!This was seriously the best 4 hours of fun we had in SF. I’m a big guy and 183cm but I had plenty of room for me and my 17 year old nephew, and easy to get in and out of. This is such a great way to see the sites. With the built in GPS / Tour guide it’s just perfect. You can go at your own pace and stop for photo ops and even lunch like we did. This is $$$ well spent and you won’t be dissatisfied 😊👌🏻we’ll be doing it again when were next in SF.

Comment: I had always felt things like this was super cheesy. I saw tourists riding by on these and thought, how insanely lame. Then I found out my work team had been scheduled for a GoCar tour for an off-site. And I had an ABSOLUTE BLAST!! This was so much fun. Felt like I was a little kid again riding my toy cars, and I loved the reaction of people as we drove by. Ended up loving this so much that when my family came to visit I scheduled a tour for us as well, and they kept telling me how much they loved it. Best part was when you get to go down Lombard Street (the famous, curvy part) and the tourists get so jealous and laugh right along with you at the silliness of it all. Long story short, two thumbs up. Highly recommended. Great way to experience and see the city, and have fun with friends and family!!

Comment: So. Much. Fun. We planned to spend 3 hours on the full tour, by ended up keeping it all day! Fantastic way to see the city. Nice that they cap the cost of the tour at 5 hours. Georgi was awesome! Id do this again on every holiday if it was an option.. the highlight of our trip for sure!

Comment: Extremely fun way to explore SF!You can make your own way around town or follow the GPS Tour. The tour really packs in many of the tourist attractions (see pics).Really great time, but make sure its nice weather of course!
