There isnt much to actually do at Grand Circus Park, but lately the city of Detroit has begun to use it as a landing space for events. For instance, this weekend was a lazy auto show so each of the 6 parks downtown hosted a number of new cars for the public to check out. Circus Park just happened to have the new Ford Bronco, so we went over and looked at the cars and spoke to the reps there about them.Last winter, there was a really big and cool Detroit sign that you could take pictures with..The downside is the amount of homeless that claim the park is theirs, and sometime get loud to certain people they try to scare away who are sometimes just walking by.
Cute and quaint central city park. Several dining options and lodging. Huntington Bank HQ and condo development going in to fill in a few blanks. Hopefully Little Caesars and Huntington Bank can cover improvements to the park since they both now have shiny newly constructed HQs on the park.
This is a nice park conveniently located in downtown Detroit. I came here after I got off a bus, and was satisfied with my experience. I left the bus stop and walked around the western portion of the park, which was green and shady. After that, I crossed Woodward Ave to walk around the eastern portion of the park, which always also quite nice. In addition to being green and shady, (when I say shady I mean the park has lots of shade from trees, not that the park is sketchy) it also has a really nice statue which looks great. I passed the statue and walked to a part of the park where there was a long row bench shaped like a circle. The bench encircled a small circle of pavement, which I walked through. I walked through the entire western portion of the park and left. I gave this park five stars because it’s conveniently located in downtown Detroit and it has lots of shade and greenery.
I will not go there anymore.they have no smoking any more and if you want to go out side?? Its not reantry. They said it was before the covit ,them why do not mandate mash ?? I say if you are smokers, I will not recommend to go there, stay home and watch it on the television. No one was wearing a mask why?? Everyone should be mandate to be vaccinated like they do it with the smoking period.
Location Location thats the main thing about this small park for me, its the feel of the park you can feel the vibe off of Woodward, basically across the street from Comerica, Ford Field, and down the street from Little Caesars Arena, and the Fox Theater, the Fillmore, and so much more, the vibe is real, and the park is cool for a quick chill, or its even a good short cut 🤷
Grand Circus Park with Candace is An Automatic!!As A Goodwill Industries Ambassador I did a Lot of Ground Maintenance in Both Grand Circus Park East and Grand Circus Park West😊 And I was Proud.Grateful when i was Downtown Yesterday...Thank God The Virus is Going Away...Keep Looking Forward Everyone
Grand. Great for walking your dog or for special events. So much cleaner than it used to be. It used to be a bum hotel every night. Nowadays there are flowers and fountains and Fido. I like the statues and fountains the best though. It is also a very practical park with a parking garage underneath it.
Grand circus Park really looks beautiful right now I love the way it looks in the winter time they really do a good job decorating, and its right in the center of everything so if you want to have fun everything is surrounding it bars theres a store for Fields right there Fox theater
This can be a wonderful place to visit. However because of the many walks of life makes this an understanding comfortable place to be and unsafe. Even with all the cameras in the area. You will be approach by someone for no reason wanting to cause trouble. So my family and friends and I will stay away from this area!!! No police present to protect you...
Good place to walk around and enjoy the Detroit city views. Occasionally events or things happen at the park but nothing like other parks around the Detroit area. Its a nice park but does require quite some work, which seems to be in progress. Much potential within this park, but perhaps in the future.
Grand Circus Park is an interesting place to visit. There are plenty of benches. It is located in a very busy location. It is a true circus as there is circular driving all around the park. The crossings to the other streets are short and well identified. Some of the cars enter the circus a little too fast. Either they arent used to the small street motion or they are being careless. The park has been neglected for a long time. It is great to see it being put back into use.Its a great place to stop for lunch. Whether you are having takeout or a brown bag lunch. The last time I stopped there they had some example patio furniture around. The pieces looked like something youd have in your living room, so, I thought it a bit much but its a durn sight better than having the place empty. There is some underground parking there but Im not sure how it works or if it is still in service. The Opera House is nearby and some great apartment buildings. I am so glad they are being fixed up. Most of them are still empty as people move back around the park I expect to see more people there. Come on by when youre downtown. Its got a great fountain, a giant statue and an obelisk!
I love the design of this park, especially in the Winter time when they have the lights and everything. Its really a constant work in progress and they keep adding to the beauty. Last year they included this truly beautiful Detroit Sign which I feel needs to be a permanent addition and could arguably become as iconic as the Love sign in Philadelphia if they work hard on it. In the parks they have also been trying out these pop-up shops in these glass structures which too add to its beauty. Its peaceful and what an urban park should be like. Its important to know it is right above a parking structure underground. It is the perfect Welcome to Downtown gateway. Its also good to know that the Qline light rail has a stop on each side of the park. A must see when visiting Detroit!

I tried to indicate location by Original Namesake, not just Detroit, yet The MotorCity, Original home of Motown, Despite, negative Output of the City, across the waters of Canada,(Windsor, Ontario), as of Grand Circus Park, I recall attending movies at the Grand Circus Theatre, during the 1970s across from Ole Theatres Adams, Madisons, Palms,(now; Filmore), Fox, Burlesk Roxy, & Colonial(24hrs).down Woodward.....a long drawn out story of just the Grand Circus Park, yet photos of Then & Now.......would be more than just Memories or a Story....*!☮️😷🈲😷😎
Park in the center of Detroit, beautiful views , plenty of seating very clean overall..... Why one star you ask!Someone was shot here this summer ..With the gunman still on the loose and yet to be identified!Let that sink in ..Someone was able to get into a fight here, walk away, get a gun, come back, shoot someone, walk away and never be apprehended
I love this beautiful park right in the heart of downtown. It is surrounded by great establishments like the Detroit Opera House, ALoft and The Royce as well as Comerica Park and the soon to be opened newest Buddys Pizza location. The park spans both sides of Woodward with a fountain on one side and a court area and dog park on the other. There are also DDOT, SMART, Qline and people mover stops on Woodward in Grand Circus Park.

2022-06-08The Grand Circus Park Historic District contains the 5-acre Grand Circus Park in Downtown Detroit, Michigan that connects the theatre district with its financial district. It is bisected by Woodward Avenue, four blocks north of Campus Martius Park, and is roughly bounded by Clifford, John R. and Adams Streets.

2021-12-22Charging is free but impossible to find. You need to find west. Minus 2. Literally took me 30 min to find it and I missed my dinner reservation. I gave it 5 starts bc it was free charging and I desperately needed a charger!

2022-05-31It was nice, I was only there at the Qline station waiting for a train. There wasnt alot of seat room in the station, had to stand until someone got up when they saw a friend.

2019-07-15Best spot in Detroit downtown. I would highly recommend it. Its great area for a walk and people watching. Its surrounded by bunch of fancy restaurants.Vibes are totally different in winter & summer. For parking - I would recommend to use public parking which is $10 per day.

2019-07-21Great improvement over the last few years. Grounds are better kept & it is safer. Super for events like Shakespeare in Detroits Much Ado Para Nada & Crash Detroit festival of street bands. Theres also $1.50 real ice cream cones & good Mexican food within sight!
