Dr. Cox is great and really takes time to explain things thoroughly and listen to concerns. The woman who did my sons allergy testing was WONDERFUL. I cant say enough good things about her. She was patient, kind, caring, and talked to my son, waited until he was ready, offered him ice packs, and just listened to him. Highly recommend!
My experience has been nothing but good so far. I had an appointment in late January and they were able to move it up almost 2 weeks earlier. Dr. Melecca and his staff were friendly and very helpful. I have a little road to travel before being free of everyday headaches but this is definitely a step in the right direction. Look forward to working with him and his staff.
Everyone here was amazing. The girls at the front could tell I had my hands full with two babies and did everything they could to make our visit smooth. They were patient, accommodating and the doctor and nurses genuinely listened and addressed my concerns. Highly recommend GR ENT!
Dr. Cox at the Wyoming location was wonderful!! He was attentive, caring and listened to my concerns. He has tools and equipment which removed the ear wax that others couldn’t find. And though I was also in for a hearing test, the wax removal helped greatly. Hopefully a larger facility will be available in the future. It’s not the easiest accessibility for wheelchairs, yet the staff is understanding and helpful with this. Thank you for the excellent care.
Dr. COX was very knowledgeable, caring, and professional . He was highly recommended by another patient, so I scheduled an appointment . I was very pleased with how he took the time to listen and explained his recommendations. He is truly an asset to the profession.Sarah I Hampton
This has been one of the most wonderful experiences I have had at a doctors office. The staff is wonderful and very caring. I have never felt more comfortable and my needs were met way over what would ever be expected by a doctor and staff. I have had more relief since I started coming here then I have had in over 3 years. I want to give a hugh thank you to Dr. Artz and his staff for making me feel important and and comfortable. And thank you for everything you have done for me. I am only allowed to give 5 stars but in my book you are a 100!! Thanks again 💐
My experience with Dr. Pfennig was extremely disappointing. He spent most of our appointment suggesting that I was being dramatic and my issues weren’t going on for as long as I had said. It wasn’t until test results came through that he finally believed but he still treated me like I was a waste of time.
Dr. Cox is a great doctor but his scheduling staff and rules for scheduling previous patients is absolutely awful and disrespectful. My appointment was rescheduled multiple times for no less than 40 days out from the previous appointment due to his rule that he only sees 2 returning patients a day on a limited number of days and there is no bending that rule. Prior patients should get priority over new patients. I will not be going back.
Dr. Robert Meleca is a great doctor. I came to know Dr. Meleca and his staff after being misdiagnosed by the Detroit VA with cancer. He is thorough and has a great bedside manner. He gives you every option for any treatment that may need done. He has helped me feel at ease especially being a veteran with anxiety and PTSD. I would refer anyone to see Dr. Meleca. The staff is super friendly and very welcoming from the time you walk in until the time you leave. This is and has been my ENT home for a few years now. I would trust no one else by Dr. Meleca and his staff for my needs.
Dr. Cox worked on my nose surgery Twice when I was just a kid about 10 years ago. My surgery turned out good. But as the years went by I had pointy nose bump which was not fun at all. It was very embarrassing throughout my middle/high school years. Instead of leaving my nose apppearance nice how it was in the first place. It turned out worse. I was very disappointed. But thank god 2 years ago some place else did surgery on my nose. And turned out perfect which changed my life to happiness
Grand Rapids ENT has a very friendly, and efficient staff, with short wait times for office visits. Dr. Cox has performed surgery on both of my children, and with both kids, he had a way of making us feel at ease. I would definitely recommend Dr. Cox, and Grand Rapids ENT.
Great staff and friendly, professional service. The doctors are great and take time to listen to patient needs/concerns. The audiology staff is kind, professional, and knowledgeable about current hearing aid technology. I would definitely recommend to friends/family members in need of care by an ENT specialist or audiologist.
Took my wife here for an exam. The receptionist was warm and friendly. The nurses were also friendly and professional. She saw Dr. Pfenning and was he very personable and professional. He talked to her and explained what he was doing and why he was doing it..Would highly recommend.
I had an audio test with Karen, the audiologist. It actually was a 2nd opinion was looking for. Karen was very thorough and I was happy that I had this test. I will go back for a follow up to see how my hearing loss progresses. I am not quite ready for hearing aides yet. I am very satisfied.
I had an appointment with Dr. Robert Meleca, MD due to my hearing concerns. He went over the hearing test that was conducted prior to me seeing him (all in the same office on 44TH ST) and discussed what they like to see above the dotted lines and for each ear to be aligned. I understood that. A few days prior to this visit I lost my voice, he was more concerned with the loss of my voice verses what my concerns were. I advised him that I have no problem hearing piercing sounds however when they are not those sounds it is extremely difficult for me to hear. I explained to him my work environment as well and due to him asking, he asked about my seasonal allergies, then had the audacity to state that I am not being clear on my allergies. I have seasonal allergies like most Americans do spring/summer, the typical runny nose, scratchy throat, and itchy eyes. Nothing that has been anymore of a concern than it was when I was 5 years old. Here I am at 27 and I did not explain thoroughly. I am a medical billing supervisor so explaining things to the T is my profession. He advised of the frequency of the sound waves which I can understand, but what does not make sense is how I cannot hear someone less than 5 feet away verses hearing the piercing sound of the typical iPhone notification. I did not want to give no stars however the other staff were nice. I understand that if the doctor has a specialty and can diagnose within moments due to extreme training/schooling however when a patient exhausts concerns, those should not be dismissed by the doctor. He suggested options for the reasons why I lose my voice once a year for the last few years and made that very clear it is my option to exhaust them. Also decided to send me home with reading on TMJ which I had to ask for upon checkout. Standard for our new and advanced medical technology for 2019?
Dr. Cox is terrific but his office staff is unorganized and not service oriented. They lost the authorization giving me authority to treat my grandbaby. I was the one that took my grandbaby in to see them so had to have authority to do it. They wont release results to me and refuse to return phone calls from me or my daughter to get mri results for my 3 year old grsndbaby.I used to see Dr. Pfennig many years ago and the office was run much differently. The service is terrible now. I hope the doctors step up and make changes to the way the office staff handles things because if they dont they will lose patients left and right from this type of service.
Grand Rapids ears nose and throat PC was a wonderful experience. Thereceptionist we kind, caring and professional. Dr. Pfennig was the only doctor who knew how to treat my cancer sores he listen to me and ask if there where any more concerns and explained my concerns in ways I could understand. Thank you Dr. Pfennig
I was sent over to Dr. Cox from my primary Doctor for bad vertigo. Dr. Cox was nice and intelligent. Long story short got the MRI done at Spectrum Health a month goes by after calling his staff several times for the results. Not a single person called me back I assumed everything was ok, I called once more after receiving thousands of dollars of bills for the MRI, the nurse answered, said you have to come into see Dr Cox he wants to go over results, made the appt took the day off work at this time was worried. They called me the day before my appt and said that they over booked the doctor for that day. I thought well this must not be that series and the nurse said wouldnt give me the results unless I came in, called Spectrum had them send results to my primary Doctor and she said everything was absolutely fine! They just want to charge you 200 dollars for a specialty office visit For nothing. Staff was rude too!
They told me that my visit would be $45 with my insurance and I received a $200 doctors bill a few weeks later. I come from a medical background and I was extremely displeased with this lack of knowledge from the staff. Be transparent with your patients. Also, train your staff to understand how to read insurances and let patients know if they will be covered or not for certain procedures. I dont appreciate being lied to and will never return to this location.
Dr. Cox was nice & all but as far as I’m concerned there’s plenty of other nice, good doctors that have a much nicer office staff that isn’t going to sit there & argue with you. I got my tonsils out & have been out of pain meds since 9 am, when she calls finally today at 3pm she argued with me about how many voIcemails I’ve left, gave me an attitude even when I tried just dropping it & saying can I please just get my medications refilled. Her name was Olivia & I will deffinatley be bringing this up when I have my check up visit.
Runs generic testing and does not listen to patient symptoms and concerns. I could hear through the paper thin walls someone else trying to explain to the Dr. that something was not right and he was constantly being dismissed and told that there isnt a problem. Once I was seen the same thing happened to me. I was essentially told that the symptoms I am feeling arent real and that its all in my head. Yes because i absolutely love having to take time out of my busy schedule to go to a specialist and throw away money for fun. If you want to see someone who will actually listen to you and take you seriously, do not go here.
I am so frustrated with this doctors office!! I have surgery scheduled next week. they neglected to tell me that the surgical center is out of network. This greatly increases my liability and costs! The doctors also have horrible communication skills and so does the staff!
I went here when I had an ear infection that doctors and urgent care could not treat effectively and they treated it in one visit. I go back about once a year with ear complications (due to so much damage when I was a kid)- and they are the absolute best! I’d rate them 6 stars if I could.
Avoid this place at all costs. Unless you have all the time and money in the world. $700.00 for a 15 minute visit?! Are you out of your mind?! Not calling patients back, promising the doctor to call and he blows them off. This is THE WORST communication I have ever received. For the OBSCENE amount you charge your patients you could at least return a phone call. STAY AWAY from here, go to a place that actually cares about patients.
Have been going here for the last several years and would not think about going anywhere else. When you arrive, you are greeted kindly by the receptionists, the nurses are always very knowledgeable and caring and the doctors have always been on-time and thorough answering my questions. Wonderful staff, wonderful service!
I wish I could give ZERO stars. This place NEVER listened to me about my concerns about my daughter. Ignored me when I thought she had a hearing problem and a submucous cleft palate. Put my daughter through an unnecessary adenoidectomy and tube placement. Finally changed ENTs and my daughter was dx with unilateral deafness and a submucous cleft in the first appointment. Now because they took my daughters adenoids out with the submucous cleft, she had a permanently nasal voice. Already getting made fun of in school. Im beyond LIVID. NEVER EVER go there!!!!!!!!!
Made one appt...they canceled at the last minute...Rescheduled and waited for over 40 min...never got in to see Dr as we had another commitment to go to...Dont know how you can be that far behind..if I came to my job that late I would be fired....so thats what I did...wont go back

2021-08-21The staff is generally friendly and helpful. The doctor is knowledgeable, but can feel a bit standoffish since he usually gets right down to business and doesnt do a lot of small talk. But there is a difference between that and hurrying you along I personally find it refreshing sometimes to get straight to the point, but I can see why some people would consider that unfriendly or feeling rushed

2021-09-28I had no problem with the staff, they were kind and friendly. Its the doctor I have a problem with. I understand hearing loss sometimes happens. Nope sorry, cant explain why, so, the other doctor was wrong in her diagnosis with fluid in my ears. I wanted to discuss other things going on, but, I was blown away, and taken aback by his lecturing me on not getting the covid shot. You need the shot. After that I felt like his whole demeanor changed, his attitude changed towards me. Im a leper. Whether you agree with my decision or not, its not your job to lecture me. Besides it has NOTHING to do with my hearing loss. I felt like a scolded child listening to him. I did not appreciate this. I was rushed out the door, thank you very much for nothing. I now have more questions than answers. He was no help at all.

2020-06-24I recently went to grand rapids ear nose and throat and i felt welcomed and was treated with the most excellent care. Dr Pfennig helped me with my septum issue as i went to another doctors office in December and they recommended removing a whole bunch of cartilage and wasnt sure if it was going to work. Dr Pfennig reassured me that they would shift the cartilage around and then if it didnt work, then remove extra. He made it understandable and easy to process as this is a big decision in my situation. If i have to recommended somewhere to go, go here. They are mostly known for hearing aids and middle ear infections with kids, but they are excellent at their specialities.

2020-03-05My experience at GR ENT was amazing. Specifically with the Audiologist, I had a great experience. I have never been spoken to about my hearing loss the way she presented it. She made me realize how much I was struggling in my day-to-day life due to my hearing deficits. She presented my hearing test results with calmness and was incredibly understanding when I had lots of questions to ask. Her kindness and soft disposition made the situation must easier to handle for me.I also saw Dr. Pfennig. His visit was very thorough and he was full of knowledge when I asked my many questions. He even took time to explain, medically, why I may be having the issues Im having.

2020-06-15Staff was wonderful and I appreciated the extent of the information that the doctor shared about my situation. The only reason they did not get 5 stars is that I was there late on a Thursday and the doctor told me that they would arrange a urgent biopsy. It was not until Monday morning when I got a call confirming my preference of facility to have it (already provided that when I was in the office). Then the biopsy was not scheduled for more than a week later. Under these circumstances it was hard to wait those extra 4 days!

2020-01-18Very great doctor! He explained everything to me very well and in great detail. The nurse was awesome and listened to what I had to say. I definitely felt like I was in good hands. The reason I can’t give a five stars was the office staff wasn’t very friendly. I felt super nervous just getting told I had to have surgery and it felt like they were just used to it and didn’t care.

2019-10-19All of the staff I interacted with was friendly and helped to set my nerves at ease. The scope procedure was explained thoroughly beforehand, and I was given the opportunity to ask questions and air concerns, all of which were addressed. At no point was I made to feel like I needed to hurry things along so they could see the next patient, which was a refreshing change from most doctors offices Ive been to. The doctor also took the time after the scope to show me what he saw and explain what it meant, and he was simultaneously friendly and professional throughout the entire visit. I would definitely recommend Grand Rapids Ear Nose & Throat, and in particular Dr. Taylor.

2020-06-11I love Dr. Meleca and the entire staff. I recently had my 5 year exam after cancer and just started seeing him about a year and a half ago. He is very patient, compassionate, and thoughtful. His staff are also very patient and compassionate. I am very happy with the treatment and will continue to receive treatment with them.

2021-01-22Unprofessional service. Performed services beyond the scope of my initial appointment and the doctor spent half the appointment with another patient, going back and forth between rooms. If youre going to charge this much at least give a patient the full attention for a 20 minute slot.

2021-07-21Its a fine practice, but they dont have a lot of modern technology available. No HIPPA compliant email, so no email reminders for your appointment. No emailing forms or sending them digitally. Youve gotta hunt down a fax machine somehow if you want to send them something. No my chart integration so you gotta call for any info. How do you make it to 2021 without basic email??
