I’ve known Travis personally and professionally for over 7 years. I watched him grow in the security field. If there’s ever a guy to believe in and a company to take a chance on it would be this one. Great company with great employees.
These guys are amazing. They provide the security at the apartment community I live in. I have never seen security guards who are as professional and active as these guys are. Keep up the great work!

I worked the roadkill event as an armed guard on august 14 2021 and still have not been paid.
Quality company ran by quality people. Youll get knowledge and care when dealing with them and folks that are fair. Pain and simple if youre looking for a security company, give them a chance to earn your business.

MEAN WHILE OUR HANDICAP WAS RIGHT THERE ON DASH YOU CAN SEE IT I LAY IT CAUSE IT WONT HAND IT FALLS... THEY I HAVE TO SAY DONT MAKE ME FEEL SAFE AT ALL MY KIDS HAVE SEEN THEM PARKED CHILLING MORE TIMES THEN I WANT TO HERE....I CANT WAIT TO MOVE AN WILL MAKE SURE I NO WHO THE SECURITY PEOPLE ARE 1ST... I know the owner of great lakes security. I can vouch for his leadership abilities having gone through the police academy with him. his leadership is sound. his company is professional, law enforcement and military friendly. when and if you invest in security services with great lakes security you will not regret it. i recommend great lakes security to anyone in need of a security solution.
I asked the security guard a simple question about where I could park. He was very rude to me. I didn’t even reply to him and he kept doing on about how I couldn’t park where I was even when I was just asking a simple yes or no question. If he had told me no I would’ve moved and respected his response but he was very rude questioning me about if I had the authority to park there. It was very unnecessary and disrespectful. I’m VERY unsatisfied with my encounter with him. I never did anything to deserve such disrespect and I wasn’t asking for it either—just simply where I could park. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. No one should have such unfriendly employees working for them. (This was in East Lansing, MI)
I have had the pleasure of knowing Travis Howell for some time now. He is a man of integrity and displays this in how he has created and runs Great lakes Security. As a security and law enforcement professional myself I am impressed with the knowledge and enthusiasm he brings to the field of security. Horrible.. I worked the Grand Prix stood in the rain. And worked extra hours.And I never was paid . After I spent weeks calling and the HR person just never answered my calls. I Call the HQ i everyday Ann arbor and they never answer the phone ...moral of the story is I work an entire week and never was paid.

I hired Great Lakes Secrutiy to take over the security services at the high end student high rise I was managing off campus in Ann Arbor. Both Travis and his staff are courteous, efficient, and highly qualified. This company is built on strong values, and it shows. Highly recommend!
I worked a nascar race with them for 3 days. I worked roughly 33 hrs over those 3 days. After waiting 3 weeks to get my paycheck I find out they only payed me for 15.75 hours so I emailed a bunch of people and here I am a week later and still nothing has been done so needless to say, DONT WORK FOR THEM.

Great Lakes Security is about as real a deal as it gets as far as security goes. I’ve dealt with a few other security guard agencies in my past, and while they all put up a great front with excellently worded mission statements, and impressive marketing tactics, GLS seems to be a cut above the rest in that they actually deliver on what they promise. I believe that the guards care about their work, and have the customer’s best interest at heart. Keep up the great work, fellas!

As a law enforcement professional in Washtenaw county I can attest to the professionalism of great lakes security. I interact with many of the security companies in the Ypsilanti and Ann arbor areas and I can say that great lakes is first class. Everything from their vehicles, uniforms, and professional empmoyees show that this company cares. They have gone out of their way to create relationships with local law enforcement in an effort to provide their clients with the best service possible. If you are looking for a security company that is run by a professional who truly cares about the community they serve look no further than great lakes!!
This company blocked the entrance to the parking lot of my business while directing traffic. My landlord asked their employee, John Quinn, if he would move his vehicle so my clients could access the parking lot. The employee then gave my business a bad review. My landlord called Travis, at Great Lakes to remove the review from my business. The employee, John Quinn, then removed the review. However, he had his signifcant other, Candra Suliman, leave my business a one star review and John left a five star. So again, my landlord call Great Lakes to remove both reviews. Travis, at Great Lakes replied with “this is a civil matter” and hung up the phone. What am I suppose to do, I lost business that day and my business is being attacked because two people had a lack of understanding?

2022-06-150 stars if I could. On Belle Isle, there is three guard blocking the road to the Belle Isle Casino Parking Lot, since there was no sign or gates I biked through, but the guard in the middle and separate images, who didnt even have a uniform and wreaked of weed tried to block me on the bridge with his run down Cadillac, and tried to grab my bike when I was on the bike, and threaten physical violence, the bottom line is the Grand Prix was completely gone a week ago, and no streets are unauthorized, I believe these are a bunch off duty guards trying to cause trouble.

2018-03-20Had some issues with the ends of the cabinet wood pulling away from the cabinet itself. Town and Country responded quickly and did a great job. Cant tell that I had a problem. The gentleman that came out was polite and courteous. Thanks for the excellent work. Recommend for new, replacement and repairs to bath and kitchen cabinets.

2021-02-16Does not pay you enough for the work, very rude management, corrupt favoritism within the workplace, managers are self hired and don’t deserve to manage at different sites, no benefits, they are short staffed so THEY WILL CALL YOU AT OBSCURED HOURS AND WILL “FORCE” YOU TO WORK AND WILL NOT ASK, THEY TELL. and that’s not how this company works. They are money scammers and you won’t get the check you expect. not worth working at this company if you want to live out your career choice. THEY TEACH YOU NOTHING. I was trained completely wrong and then I was shamed for it, I decided to leave this company because of these issues. THIS IS A VERY CORRUPT COMPANY!
