Green Lantern Pizza in other cities:
Great family spot. Huge Memorial Day dinner for 4 with drinks for $75.00. Very friendly staff. Bubbly tap beer. Pizza fresh from the oven. Kid friendly and nice outdoor seating area. Thought I had lost my keys and staff was helping me look all over. I found them. Let’s go back!
Placed a to-go order I was told 15 minutes. Came back in the allotted time and was told only a few more minutes. Waited maybe 10 More minutes and I was told again only a few more minutes, waited another 10 minutes. Then I was told they messed it up and had to fix it so it would be 2 more minutes. 10 minutes later I finally received my pizza. If you place a to-go order or a pick up be prepared to wait for more then an hour for your food. I will not be a returning customer.
We ordered a carry out. Large pizza and a cheese bread. We were told it would be 25 minutes. We arrived about 25 mins after we placed our order. The young lady looked confused when I gave her the name the order was under. After several minutes I was told they gave my order to someone else. I told the young lady to reorder my pizza and bread. I asked if I would receive a discount, she just gave me a blank look. I asked if she would make sure my order was moved to the front of all the orders, the place was very busy. She said, yes, it wont be to long. I waited for approximately 25 mins and I received my order. I will say the pizza and bread was very good. But the customer service needs improvement. They were packed inside and a lot of carry outs were going out so maybe it didnt matter that one customer wasnt happy. I dont agree.
I just finished my first slice of GL pizza and bread and had to stop my meal to tell you all how DELICIOUS it is!! Sooo good! It is now going to be my go-to pizza place! You can tell that they use quality ingredients and the sauce is really good! Bravo Bravo Bravo!! 👏 oh and the contact-free delivery was great since Im not wearing any pants. One last thing... thank you to the driver that did not put the pizza in the puddle on my porch - FedEx cant seem to figure that one out!! 😀
I knew the MH location pretty well but this was my first trip to this spot. It did not disappoint. I introduced a person to this place and they said it was the best pizza experience they’ve had in a very long time and I agree. Patio was clean. Service was prompt and friendly and the pizza was excellent.
Last week, we tried this place and placed a fairly large order. At delivery, our wings were not delivered so we had to wait 30 minutes to get them redelivered and (of course) they were cold once they arrived. Today, we decided to carry out and the staff was rude and unprofessional. No greeting and no response to a question that was asked. I’m in awe that we were treated so rudely. I’m not sure why, but maybe because we don’t mirror the demographic here. To top it off, our order was wrong. If you don’t have the Berkeley “aesthetic” I wouldn’t recommend this place. Just go somewhere else.
All star ratings are for the bathroom, not the establishment. The bathrooms at GL in Berkley are pretty nice. Black and White, clean, but a strange carpet in front of the urinal. Most bathrooms I visit have that puddle in front of the urinal... so its nice not to see that, but at what cost. Can you imagine having to clean that carpet? I saw a scrub brush, but not a plunger. The faucet was a manual handle, no motion sensor, not a big deal, but Id rather touch as little as possible in a bathroom. The air dryer was one of those Dyson blades, it worked great and it had the foot pull on the door so I dont have to touch the dirty handle.Overall good experience.
Green lantern is my favorite pizza place! Their round deep dish pizzas are amazing. Plus they have a bacon appetizer that is usually really good, but this time a few pieces were very burnt. It was slightly disappointing getting home and seeing this. I really enjoy green lantern though and they may have just been very busy. I will definitely be back here for more!
I had a very uncomfortable experience with takeout at Green Lantern on Saturday, which calls into question their business practices. I placed an order for wings and pizza. Upon getting the order home the wings were not tossed in sauce and none was sent on the side. I immediately called Green Lantern and informed them of the issue. The woman I spoke to offered to remake the wings, provide the sauces, refund my money or let me speak to a manager. I chose to have them remade so they’d be fresh and tossed in sauce. After hanging up the restaurant proceeded to call me back 3 more times. The first two calls were placed by the woman I originally spoke with, she first wanted to let me know the error happened because I selected 3 sauces for the 24 piece wings and they only allow 2 sauces, therefore they had been put on the side but never given at checkout. She again confirmed I wanted the wings remade. She then called back again telling me I could only have two sauces and again confirmed I wanted the wings remade. Finally, the manager Dominic called me again telling me he was fine to remake the wings but I would need to return the original incorrect order. I waited 20 minutes as instructed and returned to pick up the fresh wings with the old wings in hand. The woman I spoke to took the old wings and walked them back to the kitchen. She then returned to tell me my fresh wings weren’t ready and it would be a few minutes. This leads me to believe they took outside food back into the kitchen and the old food was tossed in sauce. This whole situation left me very uncomfortable and uncertain of the food that was provided.
I came here for lunch the other day The place looks fantastic inside, and I love all the windows and TV screens they have. I came in and sat at the bar.I ordered up a medium pizza with Pepperoni and ground beef.My Pizza was so yummy. It was fantastic. It did seem to take a little longer to get my food then it should have. But they have only been open a couple of days and probably still working on their groove.
Have only used the carryout since they opened in Barkley location. The pies have always been tasty and just the right amount of toppings. Crust is nice and crunchy on the outside and just right on the inside. Toppings always taste fresh.Salads are made to order and not made in the morning and sitting all day in the fridge. Lettuce is fresh and crunchy and toppings are tasty and the right amount. The salad dressing tast homemade, dont know if it is or not but doesnt come in a mfg. packaging .When they say 20 minutes its 20 minutes. Never had to wait on carryout order.
This is the most horrible experience i have ever had for a cheese pizza. I ordered in at this location mistakenly and went to the other one. So i was already late here half hour. As soon as i arrive the pizza wasnt ready. Asked the lady at the counter on how long its gonna take since it is already half an hour late she said it should be soon. It took 1 hour and 30 min for a cheese pizza. Over that the staff didn’t even apologize and have attitude.
For whatever reason I was emailed a free large one topping pizza. I ordered a large round mushroom pizza. The pizza was ok. It didnt knock my socks off- but it was ok.My problem is this: In addition to the pizza, I also ordered a turkey sub light mayo. It comes with chips and a pickle. I received a turkey ruben with mayo. The chips were included, the pickle was not. The sandwich was of a substandard nature. I think Green Lantern is have a hard time replicating the goodness of its flagship store.
Yo!!!! This pizza place was everything. The patio was absolutely beautiful. The bar area is spacious and clean. The food came out hot🔥. This place is more than a pizza place. My hubby ordered a burger medium and I had the antipasto salad. The corn beef egg rolls were good. They had very thick corn beef and we also had the cheese bread that was good even hours later.
Great to see a new location open, the royal oak location is our go to place for carryout , the sub I got in Berkley was good. A little soggy and messy the way it was wrapped, but not a deal breaker. I am sure it will take time get things dialed in . I look forward to dining in
Had a wonderful experience at this location. I had my first visit at this location last weekend. Pizza was wonderful and staff was great. Food came out in a timely fashion, given how crowded it was. Restaurant was very clean and spacious. Bar area looked great I didnt think itd be that roomy in there. Plenty of outside sitting as well. Great bar area and plenty HD TVs. Very pleased and will definitely return. Well done!
Wow ... I know there is a shortage of workers, but perhaps management should answer the phone themselves instead of leaving it up to the 18 to 20 something with an attitude right out of the gate when trying to place a carry out. Given that Im a 50+ year old who can clearly read the menu, I dont need to be talked to by the child as if Im their teenage dorky brother! Incredibly BAD take on this place tonight! I didnt even pursue the order ... went somewhere else instead. Not the first time with this place.
Ive ordered take out from this Green Lantern location a couple times now so I feel comfortable writing this review based on their take-out alone. Ive had good service through their take-out arm of the business. There is a dedicated pickup counter easily identifiable when you first walk through the doors. There are two registers there so the line moves fairly quickly. They also seem to have some warming cabinets to keep your food warm and fresh while it waits to be picked up. Overall, Ive had a good to great experience with their take-out service, no complaints here.In terms of the food, Ive currently only had the chance to experience their pizza, cheese bread (Lantern Bread), and french fries. Their pizza is top notch. I really enjoy their sauce and crust combination. Their cheese is nice and melted and their pepperonis are just the right amount of spicy. Their Lantern bread is amazing, its essentially a pizza without the sauce. I like how you can add toppings to it like a pizza too. My kids and I love the lantern bread. Lastly, their french fries are some shoestring fries. not my favorite style of french fry for sure. If there were 1/2 points here I would make this a 4.5, only docking them 1/2 point for their fries.Overall, fast and easy service for delicious hot pizza and cheese bread.
Delicious! Every time, Every meal. I’ve ordered their pizza, sandwiches, you name it and everything is delicious and made well. They have catered two parties for me in the past month and the service and quality of their food is top notch. I highly recommend. We go here weekly now for trivia because their food is so good and we try something new each visit!
Painful experience. We came by after a Berkley High School choral function to celebrate and enjoy family time. Some guy with a cheezy tinny microphone was going on and on about some trivia game that a few people were playing. I dont mind trivia but this guy had a microphone he might have bought at what, WalMart? 7-11? Tinny sound, noisy, clattering. Bad atmosphere. We had to shout at our table to be heard. It was very unpleasant. My first time there and maybe my last.We complained to the waitstaff and she agreed saying I tell the management but they pay no attention. Needs sound baffling of some sort. We tried numerous tables and it was just too clatteringly noisy everywhere. The menu was okay. My father in law said he would not order the chili again. My sister in law loved her salad. My french onion soup taught me a valuable lesson: dont order french onion soup in a pizza joint The pizza was passable. Too bready but the sauce really is good. After ordering we nearly left to go to Crispellis which always has a pleasant atmosphere and a fascinating array of good pizzas. But we had ordered so we stayed. Oh well. Not a pleasant experience at all.l
Tried Green Lantern for the first time last weekend, since then we’ve ordered two additional times (all 3 times delivery). The food arrived fast and as we ordered. Everything we’ve tried has been delicious but the jalapeño popper appetizer and the pizza is our favorite so far. They also use their own delivery drivers, which is refreshing to see, and they’re always extremely polite. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Im a pizza fiend, so maybe its too hard to impress me, but I dont understand what the hype is here. I ordered a pepperoni and bacon round and an order of their amazing cheese bread. Sorry, but Jets has better cheese bread. If youre a sit down place, and Jets does better, then you have a problem. 2 stars for the decent pizza-but nothing I would order again. Toppings were yummy, but cheese was bland and sauce tasted like it came out of a can. When I went to pick up my to-go order, the young girl working at the counter was civil, but not friendly. One time try, but wont go again.
Uncomfortable. Extremely so. We came to enjoy family, company, pizza and celebrate Berkley High School theatre program and it was just painful. Some guy on a blaring microphone yelling about some trivia game that perhaps a dozen people out of 100 customers were playing. We had to yell at our table to be heard. When we complained to the nice waitstaff she said “I’ve told the management but they don’tPay attention.”We tried different tables one worse than another . That forking big mouth with the trivia game was overwhelming. And the speaker was just tinny; a true piece of junk you might buy at Walmart. From now on this place will be carryout only. Never coming back.
First Visit=A Great Experience! Visited Green Lantern in Berkley on Friday Feb 12. My family and I were promptly seated. We were greeted by a very hospitable waitress. The restaurant was very clean, friendly and overall nice atmosphere. They had good COVID restrictions in place as well. We ordered pizza-of course and it was DELICIOUS!! If you want great pizza, the way it should be-try this place. Along with great pizza the waitress was great-Sheila! Sheila did just those small things that make a dine in experience memorable -for the right reasons. We will be back! Even my five year old is still talking about how nice Sheila was!
I’ve been here multiple times for take out, tonight was different. I waited over an hour for a medium pizza. Period. This shouldn’t happen. I understand it’s was a Friday night but don’t take online orders if you can’t keep up with demand. The most frustrating part about it was that not one employee could give me a time frame of how long it would be until my food would be ready. Oh, my pizza was also lukewarm after an HOUR wait.
Waitress served everyone else but Our table promptly, my husband ordered a drink that wasn’t brought out with the rest of the party’s. The waitress brought my drink and my husbands drink 45 minutes after being seated. A guest in my party noticed something in her drink and when I brought it to the waitress’s attention she said “what do you want me to do about it” there was a whole receipt paper in her cup and the waitress showed no sympathy food was great service was despicable
Sorry to every other pizza place in the metro area, but Green Lantern is THE best! Amazing pizza all around! The pizza is of course stellar, the other food items are good as well, full bar (with well priced drinks).I’m not sure you can say anything bad about them. I will always support and choose Green Lantern!!
I am a loyal customer of Green Lantern but my last carryout order left much to be desired. I ordered the All American burger with onion rings appeared dark in color and tasted burnt. I also ordered 8 chicken wings and I requested medium sauce and rece none. The wings were dark and burnt. I will continue to patronize Green Lantern because they have the best pizza in Metro Detroit.
If you like uncooked dough, dirty glasses, chicken thats cooked days ago (never grilled but advertised as grilled), and bartender who doesnt know what theyre selling on tap or what kind of meat their burgers are made of, than look no further. Appalled. Blows my mind this place has 4.5 star rating.
2nd Restaurant I have sat inside since Pandemic BEGAN. Isat@the bar, I ordered a small deep dish pizza&small garden salad2go. I had a diet fountain cola@the bar. I watched the excellent TVs, Miguel Cabrera hit his 500th home run. The diet Pepsi had by far the most carbonation, bubbles served from a fountain gun, thus@good@A can of diet Pepsi, excellent. The pizza & salad2go were excellent! The bar tenders & wait staff were kind attentive and grateful 4 my business. Location of their 3rd store is an excellent choice, outside El fresco provides safety& relief from the stress of the COVID PANDEMIC. LOTS OF CHOICES IN BERKELEY, I WILL RETURN 2 GREEN LANTERN !!! 😎😎
I love Green Lantern, and I love this new location even more. This location is close to home and is very family oriented. Even though the restaurant was busy, we only had a short wait. The food was fresh and delicious & the service was awesome. We were seated close to the kitchen, and I noticed that there was extra staff to bring the food out so that it gets to your table right out of the oven. One of the owners, Pete, even came to our table to personally welcome us and to make sure we were having a great dining experience. My family & I will definitely be regular customers. Green Lantern is definitely a great addition to Berkley and the surrounding neighborhoods. Kudos to Pete & his awesome team.
This could easily be the the best pizza I’ve ever had. I had come here while visiting from out of state and after learning of the opening a few weeks ago. With any new restaurant, I expected a few setbacks but it felt like this place has been open for years. The staff was friendly, the beers cold and the pizza delicious. I remember coming here years ago when under a different name (Silas) and am impressed with what they’ve done with the space. I’m really looking forward to catching a few games once in better weather, I think this place will become an asset to downtown Berkley in little time. If your looking for a little excitement outside of a typical pepperoni pizza (which was also great), their BLT pizza is amazing. The crust was cooked perfectly, with an amount of sauce that was enough to bring out the unique flavor, but not overdone. The toppings were spot on, bringing the whole thing together. Delicious. I don’t usually rave about pizza so we’ll have to come back to make sure it wasn’t a fluke!
Was in town visiting my folks for a week and decided to give this place a try. Ive been to the Hazel Park location a few times when I was younger and heard Silas was shutting down and Green Lantern was buying a location here. I got a takeout pizza and it was fantastic. the menu is clean cut and nice and the ambience seems great. Highly recommended and exactly what Downtown Berkley needs other than clothes shops and hair salons. Will go again next visit in town and check consistency.
Carried out 4 times. Each time excellent. Each time we ordered pizza and something else.Pizza is just about my favorite food. They actually have a real thin crust pizza. The crust is not pre made and they cut it in triangles not squares as any respectable round pizza should be.As Sheldon once said...pizza is the perfect food. Its a circle. Cut into triangles and put in a square box.
Very noisy and extremely slow service. We were there for almost two hours just for pizza. It was hard to talk because it was so loud there. They need to add some kind of sound dampening material to the room. The pizza tasted good and the server was friendly, but I dont think well be going back soon. Stay away from the bar if you practice social distancing because the bar area was packed.
Green Lantern bought the old Silas Restaurant on 12 mile near Greenfield in Berkley a few years back, remodeled it and opened up over a year ago. Well my wife and I used to cruise to the Green Lantern on 15 mile near Hayes for a good pizza and a drink. Now its about a 5 minute drive to the Berkley location for the best pizza in town!
Always solid. Great value with great service and great food. I like the layout and the amount of TVs. Warmer weather invites the roll up doors wide open and adds to the ambiance. Bartenders are cool, know how to handle a conversation without interrupting your meal. Beer is cold, smiles are warm. One of my favorite places.
Great pizza, the bread sticks are addicting. The garden salad was kind of par for the course. However, if there salad is the weakest part, this place is so far worth the price. The dining hall portion isnt open yet, so this is based off my experience with pick up. Ordering through the website is fine.
I had a terrible experience here Saturday 11/26 pickup up my carryout order. I placed (and paid) for the order online early in the day Saturday for a 6:30pm pickup. The pizza tracker on their website indicated the pizza was indeed ready at 6:30, but the line to pick up carryout was wrapped around the building outside and I waited more than 30 minutes out in the cold only to pick up my cold pizza that had been sitting there while I waited outside. The response from the employee was only a sorry we are behind today. Sorry, but I wont be back and I caution you all to think twice about placing a carryout order there as they seem to still be struggling 8 months into the pandemic.
I ordered for Superbowl night. The square pizza large is like a medium at other places. The large salad had very little toppings on it I had to add more cucumber and tomatoes to it. I also added spring lettuce to it because it was made with all iceberg lettuce. I usually go to jets but decided to try this new location of GL pizza.
New location in Berkley! Great pizza, staff is very friendly and attentive. Awesome place to take family and friends, full menu of options. Nice big bar setup and table dining for larger groups. The Bartenders are on point! Appreciate the Clam Chowder offered during Lent season too.
This is my first visit. Being a handicapped person, the first thing I noticed was how there was only one handicap parking spot near the door. I had to park across the street which was the closest spot to park. Next was how loud and noisy it was. Then next was the large number of people in the restaurant. I came at 4pm and was seated promptly. The waitstaff were very nice and attentive. It was disappointing that I couldnt order unsweetened tea. The menu had a good selection of salads and pizza. I ordered a round pizza. I would likely order a square pizza the next time. I dont particularly care for a thin crust. Bottom line is that if like a big noisy pizzeria with a ton of flat screen TVs tuned in to a variety of sports, then this is the place to go. Me, Im going to find a quieter place that serves unsweetened tea.
I love it! A Green Lantern in my hometown! Not that the other locations were all they far away, but this one is just so close! The quality is the typical Green Lantern quality that you get at the other locations, the staff is helpful and friendly, the prices are good (especially for what you get), and parking is ample. You can’t go wrong here, I’ve been here multiple times and have never been disappointed. Unless you only like bad food you’ll love the Green Lantern Berkley.
Pizza was good, not worth the wait though. Told on the phone my order would be ready in 25 min. Arrived in 30min, waited another 45min in the lobby. Was told a few more mintues, a few more minutes.... so I waited, and waited, and waited. Just tell me up front that you forgot to put my order in. I can decide then if I want to wait, or come back, or cancel. Really poorly handled.
My 1st time going & it wont be my last(on thurs.). the atmosphere was modest and soothing, especially w/the help of our delightful mixologist Brittany(hope i spelled that correctly) who created on point drinks for a my brother (watching his sugar intake); and for me (a non-drinker, that wanted something strong who wasnt watching my sugar intake). btw it was smooth and had me in a chilling state.her and the rest of the friendly staff & friendly clientele added to the serenity of G.L.P.the food was awesome & worth the price andthe parking wasnt bad (again it was thurs)
This location of GLP is awesome. Love what they did with the building and making it a family friendly restaurant + bar combo. I used to be meh on their pizza, and admittedly only had ever tried their round. But tried their square (detroit style) a few weeks ago and Id say its one of the best, if not the best, of its kind. The service was good. Manager consistently checks in on everyone. All around, theyre doing a great job and I hope it remains a stable in the Berkley community for years to come.
Live in Berkley so I had to try. Very disappointed. Toppings were clumped in middle of pizza. Canned mushrooms? Worst thing ever. They tasted like rubber. The wings were not cooked enough and very slimey. I threw it away, not worth the calories. Would have gone back but since we are on lockdown I am not going to.
My family and i dined in and we had an amazing time. We ordered pizza, and the lantern bread is to die for! The amount of cheese on the bread make every bite savory. Service was great and our waiter answered every question we had without problem . Cant wait to go back!
Love Green Lantern - all locations! The new Berkley spot did it right... thank you for continuing to expand and delivering excellence every step of the way. Eat here people and youll be happy! I having pizza tonight... what do you say? If you want deliciousness best be Green Lantern, ya hear?
Last nights carry-out order was just terrible. This is the 2nd bad pie from GL in 2 weeks. This has surprised me since the mothership has produced exemplary pies for decades. So good that I was willing to make the drive. What happened to you GL? Your Berkley store is going to ruin your reputation.
Advertises gluten free pizza; however, per the waitress it is not safe for people with Celiac Disease. One of the main reasons we went. After telling us the pizza wasn’t safe and clearly knowing there was a person with Celiac at the table, his salad came with breadsticks in it. Waitress was knowledgeable and friendly, and we were seated much faster than the estimate. Recommend a warning on the menu about the “gluten free” pizza that isn’t, people with Celiac could become extremely ill.

2021-12-22My husband and I got married last night after canceling our wedding due to Covid. Then we had a issue at the first restaurant however Green Lantern when above and beyond to make our night special. Treat all our guests great and treat us very special as well. 2022-06-28Pizza is almost always great. Whether youre a fan of pepperoni, mushrooms, onions or anchovies, youll surely find pie that pleases. But when you find a pizza place with both attitude and atmosphere, youll double your pleasure.Green Lantern is that place! Inside, its a lively bar. Outside, its a private patio with a terrific downtown Berkley view. And if youre lucky enough to be seated where they roll up the garage door (essentially, the east wall), you get the best of both worlds.Recommended!

The Lantern bread.... I will DREAM about that bread, so delicious!! We also got the Candy Coated Bacon, which my husband loved. The pizza was AMAZING!! So, so good! I really enjoyed the atmosphere, too. Tables werent packed together. Lots of TVs, with various sports playing. Awesome experience, I hope to return soon!!

2022-04-17Excellent place to dine for couples, groups, and more. Lots of TVs to watch sports and the food is outstanding. Been coming here with our gaming group since last year. A great place to dine for our group before heading next door (Gatekeeper Games) on playing our CFR (Championship Formula Racing) game. Highly recommended!

2022-01-23Im giving the Green Lantern 5 stars primarily because of the flavor. The portabello wrap was delicious. The pizza is fantastic. The wrap was a little pricey since it was just under $12, but did include sides like French fries. There is an outside seating area in a tent, but on a sub 20 degree day, still a little chilly for seating. There was ample seating during the weekend daytime we went. I didnt take pics this time, unfortunately. I would highly recommended this restaurant. They have a great variety.

2021-12-11Ordered online & it was ready on time. The candied bacon is delicious & so is the BBQ chicken pizza. Not too many parking spaces but its worth taking the time to find a spot. Will definitely revisit when Im back in town.

2022-05-27I went to Green lantern Pizza for lunch because they had a partnership special deal where I got a free slice of Pepsi pepperoni pizza. The flavor was subtle but tasty. I also got a extra large chicken pizza that I custom ordered with tomato sauce. When the pizza first came out, it didnt have the sauce per my special order, but our server was happy to correct the issue and there was no extra charge. Overall, I had a great experience and would recommend it to others

2022-02-18Very much enjoyed both round and square pizzas. Its a great problem when you cant pick a favorite.Sausage and onion square was a throwback to my childhood and was about as perfect as food can get.Round pepperoni is pictured.
