Preston and crew recently renovated our cottage on Beaver Island and working with him was by far, one of the best customer experiences we have ever had! The project was completed over the winter when we were not on the island and we cannot say enough great things about working with Preston. We were impressed from the first walk-through until the project was completed. He quickly put us at ease with his construction expertise, smart solutions and transparent communication style. Throughout the project, he kept us updated regularly with photos, emails and the occasional phone call if there was a decision that required a more thorough conversation. He stayed on time, on budget and navigated all the details of our renovation with care and professionalism. It is rare to feel like you can put your full trust in a contractor, but Preston made that easy to do. We had full confidence that our project would be completed at the highest standards, and it certainly was. We are already thinking of future projects for Preston and his team… he is truly a one-of-a-kind contractor working for a one-of-a-kind company. We highly recommend Greenwald & BC!! We could not be more pleased with the work on our A-Frame on Beaver Island by Greenwald & BC Inc. Preston and his team worked with us to create a remodel that is stunning -- complete with a black spiral staircase that looks like a work of art.The attention to detail was outstanding and this was done while we were miles away. Preston remained in touch during each phase of the work and guided us with recommendations and options to make the end-design both functional and artistic. He was also careful to keep our budget in mind throughout the project. The team finished the project in the time promised.We are now excited to be moving in and are appreciative of the continued updates and follow-up from Preston and others with Greenwald & BC Inc. Preston and his crew put a new roof on our house in Beaver Island, the workmanship was outstanding, they corrected all the mistakes and errors from the previous contractor! That we put up with all these years.The professionalism, the work the clean up after the job was very very impressive! So we decided to have them update our old siding with different designs! Every year after we shut the house down and come back up and open it its just impressive, the workmanship, I just cannot Rave enough about them I wish I had more work for them to do! Highly highly recommend them.

Ive worked with a lot of contractors in my business career, and Greenwald & BC is one of the best. We did a remodeling of our Beaver Island house (Rest of Our Lives, 37756 Kings Hwy.) and like any remodeling there were challenging structural, electrical and design issues. Preston Herren was on site and up to the challenges. I usually have to specify materials and design aspects in great detail in order to make sure the contractor is doing a high quality job. With Preston, there was no need to worry because it would be against his nature to do anything less than the best. I was unable to be on site during most of the work, but Preston stayed in close contact and it was a pleasure dealing with someone that was knowledgeable about construction details. If you want quality work at a fair price, Greenwald & BC is a great choice.

Due to insurance coverage, I needed to have my roof replaced within a very short period of time. Preston was very helpful in the decision making process, and provided a quote and samples right away. His crew got right to work, and completed the job quickly.

Preston and his former partner Paul did a MBR/Bath/Office remodel for us. The work was completed on-time, on-budget and professionally. Preston installed basement windows, a door-wall and a tiled a second bath, all first class work. He is always willing to let me contribute to the projects and share his knowledge. I like woodworking and fabricated the window and door trim for the MBR, he installed it. Integrity/honest/on-time/on-budget/professional come to mind when working with Preston. We have a small cottage on Beaver Island, Lake Michigan. Greenwood ( under direction of local leader Preston ) has provided work on our house over the past several years - new roof, new sliding doors, some repairs.With the rise of the lake’s water level, our house has been in danger of erosion of the 15 foot dune bank. Regulations, working at the waterline and up the steep bank have stymied others we have talked to. However, Preston and his team have persevered and explored several different options for building a protective berm and sea wall. Everything has seen a different engineering and design challenge. We now have a solution that will work, be permanent, comply with all regulations and waterway restrictions, and save our house.In all of our experiences with Greenwald, we have never felt that we were secondary to the team; that they were only looking at making a quick dollar; that they didn’t know what they were doing. If a new challenge appeared (such as in building a new water barrier) they were able to find and contract with relevant experienced subcontractors - locally and from the mainland.We have the highest regard for how Greenwald works with its clients, and will recommend them to anyone who needs “normal” and specialized engineering and construction services.

I have known Colin and the team for many years through my position at Eikenhout. They have always been very professional and great to work with.
