Kroger in other cities:
This place drove a family member into work one night when her car broke down (a district manager was coming in, so it was very important that certain things get done). This manager then left her stranded there at 4am after working 10 hours. She had to walk home in the middle of the night. Management here is absolute garbage. On top of all of the other things that go on here...no one with any sense should ever shop here.
After 20+ years shopping at another Kroger location, this is now my new store. There is no comparison to the quality of the fruits, vegetables, bakery, deli or meat and seafood areas. While this location is much farther away, it is worth the extra time. Please keep up the great work!
The Kroger by my house that is the closest for me to walk to has been renovated in some departments but overall the appearance of the store and the cleanliness has a lot to be desired. I was excited when I moved into my house last year but now when I walk to the store to get items the majority of what I need is either gone or never was there. They cant keep the deli open or the customer service closes early leaving you know alternative if you take your bottles back to cash your receipt. Very frustrated. The store is filthy. Needs a complete renovation
Places a pickup order at this location (Ford Rd and Central City). 5 min before it is scheduled to be ready I get a text delaying it for an hour. Ok, fine, I’ll deal with it. Show up at the new time it is supposed to be ready and waited over 25 min before calling to find out why no orders are coming out. All pickup spots are full waiting and literally no orders coming out. Don’t offer a service if you can’t provide it. I could have gone in and got the groceries on my own rather than wasting my lunch hour waiting to get nothing.
This location gives you exactly what you’d expect from any other Kroger. However, they didn’t seem to have enough variety of organic produce. Visited this place for quick grocery shopping while I was traveling. While I was able to get the non-organic versions of the things that I was looking for, would have liked to get the organic versions instead.
Sunday I stopped at the Kroger in Wesland on Ford Road to pick up a few groceries. When I was ready to get in line there were only two registers open and lines went to the other end of the store. There were several other customers in front of me with full carts and everyone had been waiting a long time. The cashier and bagger were moving at top speed their customer service skills were exceptional. The cashiers name was Karla and the bagger was Kyle. Between the two of them they were moving the line as fast as they could. I just want to say they were excellent representatives for Kroger handling customers who had been in line for awhile. During the time I waited the intercom came on asking for staff to walk the store at the top of the hour. Rather than walk the store they should man the registers and move the customers. Several people walked out leaving their carts just sitting there.Several other customers in line also remarked that the store staff not walk the store but rather open the register or two
No carts NEVER ANY CARTS by the west doors! I was told to go to the east doors to get a cart. No, my knees hurt and I dont want to have to walk to get a cart! There are some next to the store thats at the west of the west doors, but I dont want to have to go and get a cart way down the sidewalk. I was told that the west doors werent for customers. THEN LOCK THEM AND PUT UP A SIGN FOR GOODNESS SAKE. The sign should say Go to Meijer! And those blue bins that are sitting there empty blocking the way where the carts used to be, and the grocery carts full of items that dont belong to anyone, and its very dirty at the west door, inside and out. Nothing seems to help, not talking to the managers, not writing to corporate, nothing!
Thank you Denise in Kroger pickup for always , always trying her best. We always have huge orders and she does her best to make sure we get everything. We appreciate you Denise. It’s been crazy through this pandemic with shortages and issues with the system but it’s not so bad when you have a smiling face ! Stay safe and healthy and use Kroger pickup.
I ordered a delivery today and Im very satisfied with my order. The shopper, for Instacart was Alejandro, and he got my order correct and made good choices for substitutions. He was helpful and friendly. Kroger has the best prices for fresh food, great meats and a wide selection of pantry items, frozen food and even flowers.
Used to love shopping here, but one of the female manager who works at the front has made it awful. Very unprofessional and rude! My husband works late most of the time, and we ran out of baby formula for our 9 month old. He came in at 10:55PM knowing they close at 11PM but knew he had more than enough time to grab it and cash out in 5 minutes. But the Manager, I wish I knew her name, stopped him and said “I can’t let you in, we close at 11.” My husband still had 5 minutes left and knew exactly where the formula was, for a 9 month old, and pleaded to let him get it. She said, “No, I’m sorry, I can’t.” Really?!? For a baby?!? Shame on you! You shouldn’t be a manager with that kind of cold heart!!
This place is horrible as far as checking out!!! There is never more than 2 maybe 3 lines open at a time. They have 12 UScan and they will only have 6 open at a time. Even during their busy times. It has nothing to do with Covid and people not wanting to work either because it was like this before.
This is my favorite Kroger store, but Im thinking about changing stores because there are rarely any fresh herbs. Today I needed three different herbs and there wasnt any. Every time I shop there, I might get lucky to get one or two. This might sound pretty, but I need them for my family meals.
I understand that there is a limit on the amount of bottle returns, but you can go a mile down the road and return as many as you want to meijer. Half the machines weren’t working and that bottle room is not even designed to hold enough people and have them social distance. Didn’t appreciate the staff being rude, the rules are different everywhere.
Ive shopped here for over 20 years and watched it slowly go down hill, I just got back from shopping and the cashier was rude, the people that collect groceries for pick up leave there big carts in the way and roll their eyes if you try to go by. Its dirtier then its every been! Bring back the old staff!
I like coming to Kroger, its more pricey than some stores but I figure its because of the baggers. The only thing I wish is they would do is show the baggers what goes on the bags together. Meat and fruit do not go together, but it seems to happen every time. Also I think of the cashiers got a bit of a raise they would be more pleasant to interact with. Also they should have someone who likes to talk to people doing the the free samples, they are usually the most unapproachable people. They dont have to smile the whole time but they could be nicer! This is just what Ive experienced at this Kroger. I love coming here! Its so close and convenient!
Great grocery selection. Their organic range of groceries is awesome for the size of the store too. Aside from organics, they have a really cool and unique selection of groceries you cant find elsewhere such as rare Coca Cola singles! Like Georgia Peach and Raspberry! All natural flavoring and with organic cane sugar! Thats just an example of their unique and special stock!
I was at the store today taking my mother shopping When walking past one of the sales Associates her name was Karthleen She thank one of the customers for having on a mask And then turned Towards me and another customer and said because they don’t care At this point I was embarrassed cause who that she had the audacity to point out that I didn’t have a mask I then proceeded to let her know that I was essential worker I work at the hospital and there is no way in the world that it would be OK with my boss if I called out a patient for not having on a mask I don’t know if she’s not aware of it or not there is a shortage on mask so everyone is not fortunate enough to have one and if she’s afraid to be at work and coming in contact with others who are not wearing mask then maybe just maybe she should take a voluntary leave Cause working with the public at this point might be too much for her I work on the front line every day and I have never once approached anyone for them not doing their part to cut down the spread of this virus I had on gloves and I also had on the scarf Sorry that wasn’t good enough for you I will definitely be reaching out to the corporate office to express my Concerns
This used to be my favorite store. People were helpful, food fresh and a good gluten free selection. Lately, their meats are not always fresh, in fact I try not to buy ground beef there. The seafood counter usually smells fishy. Employees are not nearly as helpful, and have stopped saying hello, which they used to do. Organic area doesnt carry food that I need.
Your Customer Service desk is a nightmare!!!You have one person behind the desk and a line of 10 people waiting to be complete various transactions. (You are aware of what transactions can be performed at Customer Service)Every time I get in line it is a 30 min wait or more. You need more registers and more associates behind your Customer service Desk.My time is too valuable to wait like this and you are going to lose Customers.Figure it out soon it is not conducive to Good Core Business Practices!
Kroger Pharmacy really help me out today especially Darrell and staff. Darrell helped me get the over-the-counter stuff for my dad and his medication I didnt even ask him. I really appreciate your help. In these times its good to know that there are still some decent people out here.
Used the Clicklist service at this store for the first time today. Ordering online was easy and service was good. There were 3 others in line ahead of me, so had about a 25 minute wait, which was longer then expected. Pick-up window was 4-5:00 and I arrived at 4:15 - may be the busiest time for them. Biggest complaint was that my 36 items arrived in no less than 17 individual plastic bags - extravagant from an environmental perspective, and also annoying from a convenience perspective. Why so many bags?
This review is on Kroger bakery! Let’s start last year.. I ordered a cake for my daughters birthday & it was forgotten about I had rude service about the cake even though it was their mistake. I love Kroger cakes so this year for my sons birthday I decided to give this Kroger another try.. I go to pick up my cake & once again no cake!!! Pure mom panic mode set in, but Tasha saved the day!! She whipped up a stunning & delicious cake in less then 20 mins. She was so kind & understanding. Thank you Tasha for your awesome service and amazing skills
Cashiers are always nice especially with kids. theyve been given small toys or stickers which make it fun for them. Shelves are always stocked and if I need something staff is happy to help find your item. I enjoy having a bagger as well. Gives grocery shopping an old time feel.
I appreciate what has been done at this store for safety and health. However it defeats the purpose when bagger at cashier does not wear gloves. I reported this to mgmt .josh lane 11.His answer i dont have any!For God sakes ask your store mgr. Operation not up to par. No wonder they have corona cases.
73.000 Sq. Ft. of shopping delight! Give yourself plenty of time to experience this store if you have not been here before. The store is clean and well stocked with fresh merchandise, and a wide variety of it. The associates are friendly, helpful, welcoming and guess what? They smile....a lot!!! I will be going out of my way to shop at this particular Kroger, even though the one at Merriman and Cherry Hill is closer.
Staff is very friendly and helpful and the store is very clean. They run out of some sale items within a couple of hours after opening on the first day the sale starts. Today they were out of the Angus ground chuck for $2.99 per pound. At almost $4 a gallon for gas what am I saving if I have to drive back to the store again to get the sale item? Im on a fixed income and need to plan my meals around whats on sale.
Please update and enlarge bottle return area. 2 machines break down constantly and the poor kid working there had to keep resetting every.70 because machines would stop. Only one working machine and don’t fit 3 people well in there at all. Awesome store inside but 0 on bottle returns.
I always like kroger but that selection is limited I wish they had more speciality cheeses and Meats. what they do have is always good in fresh except the frozen section always seems to have defrosted and then being frozen again. This probably happens when they are stocking at night. Other than that the store is always clean and the people are friendly
Krogers is my personal favorite place to get grocerie. There is always a fresh selection of produce and meat at great deals. You can get majority of all your cooking necessities in one trip, not to mention Kroger points. Get up to a dollar off of gas you cant beat that.
Its really irritating that they lock the doors to the left after 9pm it forces you to have to walk to the other side of the store when you just need a pharmacy item. Also, theres NEVER any one to bag! The store could use some massive updates. Most Kroger stores are far more updated then this location.
The new layout is terrible. The long narrow aisles make a trip for groceries take much longer than before. When I get stuck behind a family of 6 and still need to go 20 more feet to reach a bottle of ketchup my blood starts to boil. There are very few registers open and unless you dont mind scanning $200 worth of food in the U-Scan you have to wait and additional 15 minutes. A few times that I have recently entered this location the lobby was without any shopping carts. Then when I get to my car to leave I notice three employees sitting on a long line of carts talking and using their phones. Unfortunately I still frequently shop there due to convenience but Meijer is starting seem more appealing.
This Kroger was not logically organized and when I finally found where the item I needed was (with help after going up and down several aisles on my own), the actual product I was looking for was all out. I left without purchasing anything and went to my usual Kroger where I got everything I needed in half the time.
This place does not have double carts! Got my babies out of the car, walked inside, asked three different employees if they had the carts...all said NO! Unbelievable. So Im packing everyone back into the car and burning more gas to find a place that does! Very disappointed 😞. Edit: I called corporate and told them about the cart situation. They immediately got double carts at the store! Now I can shop close to home.
I had a wonderful experience yesterday in the floral department. Kim went above and beyond to turn my 2 dozen long stem roses into a beautiful bouquet that was incredibly beautiful. As I was walking out to check out I received 3-4 compliments from different women as I was leaving, one right in front of her husband. The bouquet was just as pretty if not even more pretty than ones I have bought from floral shops. I truly appreciate the babysbreath she added to the bouquet it truly made it pop. Kim even wrapped them in green paper and put a pretty ribbon on it. Thank you Kim your customer service was amazing and the Roses were perfect and appreciated more than you know!
Not too much to say about Kroger. A common store around the state, and it has pretty much anything you need for groceries. Take advantage of using the numerous amount of coupons out there to save some money. As for the location itself; its pretty easy to find. Parking can be a bit of a pain in the more busy hours. All in all, just head to this place in early hours to avoid the crowd.
This isnt a 5 star top of the line, like a super fancy place or in a rich neighborhood, but its not a bad area, average. If you are shopping on a budget, and need groceries this is the Kroger to go to. Nice employees, never a long wait, quiet peaceful atmosphere, although a little challenging to learn the stores floorplan at first.Even if you have a Kroger closer to home, go to this one for lower prices!! Milk and eggs are always half the price of the other 3 Kroger stores (Dearborn on Ford rd, Garden City? on Cherry Hill rd, and Westland/Garden City on Warren & Middlebelt.)Dont forget your Kroger card, and use their app for digital coupons (so you dont forget to use them, or leave them at home!) The app and website make it easy to select your store and check out the sales paper for your chosen location.
Click list at this location is god awful. Nothing is ever in stock. Prices online are not accurate. Staff changes frequently and no one knows what’s going on. Soft stuff on bottom. Every thing is smushed. Missing items. Random items I didn’t buy? Meijer around the corner is 100x better.
I only go to this Kroger because it is close to my home. I go early Saturday morning otherwise it is complete chaos. More now that they closed down two regular registers and replaced with U-Scan.The carts are usually not stocked in store (on Saturday mornings) and all outside.Parking lot is a hot mess. Needs to be relined. The yellow shades are not safe. IF something were to happen inside the store (crime, etc.), no one can see inside. This is a simple safety measure.Baggers need training. You do not put three boxes of cereal in one flimsy bag. Cans do not go in same bag as bread. Cold items go together, double bag heavy cans and please do not overfill. When it is busy, fill the bags quickly, not chit chatting with other baggers. The produce department NEEDS an overhaul. The produce staff needs some personality training, they are always rude. The organic selection is poor quality and really need a different supplier (especially the celery)There are only a handful of delightful employees here, if I had their names, I would definately shout out to them.I hope you take these comments into account. This is my recurring experience on Saturday mornings.
I will never return to this location again, the employee Stephanie was stocking and I asked for help, she looked at me with disgust in her face. I called and spoke to a manager and she was rude too!! Its very sad we live in a world where racism still exists!! My money spends just like the next person!!!!
I dont really care for kroger went there got a pumkin which spoiled the next day. Had rotton holes on top and stunk. While returning pumkin i bought a can of Brooks chilly beans so i could make some chilli got home prepared opened the can it was all black inside and stunk. I returned told them they should remove from shelves.
I was appalled at the number of people who walked in this morning (I was in the car because I am high risk and daughter shops) without masks or gloves!!! Even the young man taking groceries to the cars did not have any gloves or mask on (even though the person in the car did..obviously for protection but just the same as walking in yourself w/o protection!!) DO NOT let people shop w/o the proper gear. Westland is on of the top cities with many Covid cases....DO NOT LET THEM COME IN and make sure your workers abide by the same rule...its not that hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In light of the Meijer-ization of Kroger, forcing shoppers down every aisle, I will pay more at another market that values my time, instead of treating me like garbage... And you dont even want to get me started on the uselessness of your paid aisle walkers/Customer avoiders... Who also dont have a clue to where anything is located. And to think Kroger was a customer oriented place of business, a long time ago, in a land far, far away. Shame on you!
The main reason why Im giving 5 out of 5 stars is because of the 2 locations that are more local to us we DO NOT LIKE! From the horrific parking lot at the Middlebelt/Warren location to the poorly thought out floor plan at the Dearborn Heights location. We miss the old Kroger that was at Ford/Middlebelt. That one shouldve never closed! The one at Middlebelt/Warren needs to close! Would love to see a new Kroger open where the Kmart was at Ford/Middlebelt! Oh, the other reason was because it was very easy to navigate the store. We were also able to get ALL the stuff on our list too!
Dearborn heights is our main store but we use this one for clicklist. For this purpose they are very good and highly recommended. The shoppers always do a great job. The Dearborn hts store is behind the curve. It didnt start out right, their always super busy and old people mistake the clicklist spots as handicapp as they used to be. We have lived in the area for 35 years and would say overall the Ford rd westland store is better.
Ive tried to get a job here. Went to the hiring fair, was told to apply. Applied. Received an email telling me to call. Did a phone interview, then wanted me to come in for a 3rd interview.. 3 interviews in 2 weeks, just to be told I wasnt qualified. Disappointed because I thought I did well in my 2nd and 3rd interview just to find out I was given the run around for 2 weeks simply to waste my time.
Clean, well stocked, some prices are very good and some prices are too high. They have food already cooked in case you dont feel like cooking. They bake cakes here also. There is a bank and a pharmacy here. You can also go online to order food and they will deliver it to your car. This is called Clicklist. They have cheap DVD rentals here located inside the Redbox. They also have a lottery machine and a Coinstar machine in case you have a bunch of coin that you want to change into dollars.
Love this Krogers, friendly staff always willing to stop what they are doing to help you find what you are looking for... & it is convenient when the milk is in the front but this trip I had to walk to the back because the frig in the front was full with other stuff...
An extremely friendly environment. I wouldve rated 5 stars if the last time i went there, one of the employees would have actually helped me the first time or directed me to a person that knew more than he did. I wanted some TexMex. Its a southwestern SourCream Dip(didnt know that it was sour cream at this time). I didnt know where it was so i asked the nearest employee. I even showed him what it looks like. He went to go search for it, but its a refrigerated product which i told him but he went nowhere near the fridge. He told me this store didnt have it. What pissed me off was that the dip is a Kroger Made product so the store has to have it. So even though i was still in the store, i called to ask where it was. The moment i said the name, the lady knew exactly what i was talking about. Gave me specific easy directions. She even checked up on me to see if i found it. She was amazing!
I like Kroger but this one sucks! Nothing beyond the register is taken care of. They always have tons of carts scattered through the lot, the bottle machines are always broken and non of the stockers seem to know where anything is?If you have an extra 10 minutes, avoid this one and head to the Kroger in Plymouth.
They are close by and have some items that other grocery stores do not have and a wider organic section. Most of their employees are friendly. However, it doesnt seem very clean and their produce is often near expiration if not already moldy...especially the tomatoes. No cell service so make sure you transfer enough money before you go inside if you are using a debit card.
This seems to be a smaller Kroger store, seems to be missing a lot of items that are sold at other stores. With that said, the employees are friendly, and there always seems to be enough help at the front registers and in the aisles, something that seems to be rare in this day and age with retailers.
Somebody finally woke up and removed the woman manager, she was horrible towards employees and customers, now if they could allow employees to do their jobs before more customers arrive on weekend mornings, meat processer, stockers,I wouldnt have to ask for sale items & wait for them.
Crappy checkout clerk, had to keep throwing his hair out of his eyes to see fruit tags, drinking from a doctor pepper can while at the register with people in line, outside door blocked off with only a small sign that you cant read until you ve already walked to the door, next door blocked with carts so you have to go in the out door, all this at 8pm and still light out, what gives?
Casher very rude said she didnt have to look on my key ring for the Kroger plus card and told to find it that was the first time all the years I been going to Kroger thats happen and I use to work for them i would have done would you have done it of you work there???

2022-05-20If you are in need of deli trays, you are taking a chance by ordering from this deli. I went into the store at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday and was told by a deli person that it would be no problem for me to place an order for Sunday. She said that I needed to call the following day or place my order on line as the person who I needed to talk to wasnt there. I placed my order online. On Friday I received a call saying they could not fulfill my order. In a bind, I called Holiday Market in Canton. The employee said it would be no problem to make up a similar order for me!

2022-07-09Do not order any party platters here. I did so for a graduation party and they say they never received it and it was never made. When I called to get it, they had no one trained to make the sandwich platters. The manager was of no help and acted clueless for being a manager. Good thing jimmy Johns is fast with platters. They almost ruined my party.

2022-06-24Dont bother shopping here on the weekends unless you like to be followed in the parking lot by people with clipboards. They follow you to your car and knock on the window. They will grab onto your cart and refuse to let go unless you sign something. Ive told management multiple times yet every weekend there they are stalking people in the parking lot. We live in scary times and having someone follow you to your car is VERY CREEPY! Really kroger?!0

2020-02-15So happy with the amazing customer service I received today in the floral department. When I came in the floral manager Kim was very busy and had several customers ahead of me. She asked me while she was assisting the other customers how she could help me. I said I needed a wrist corsage for a daddy daughter dance the same day. Although she really didnt have time to make one she set out to do just that. She artfully created a beautiful and sweet corsage for my daughter. She was super polite and friendly despite the fact she was clearly swamped. That is the type of customer service that keeps people coming back to a business. I would have given 5 stars for this experience but was thinking back to two nights before at night around 10:30 or 11 on Feb 13th I was picking up a few things when I hear a female manager literally screaming at the employees about the amount of time they take for their breaks. I didnt see her because I was not near her but I could hear her yelling. Very unprofessional. I wasnt the only one taken aback by this as I saw another customer look at me with wide eyes and just say wow.

2021-12-19Once again I find myself going to another Kroger location across town in order to purchase basic groceries. The Westland location is an among national, even during these challenging times. Understocked, dirty, nasty perishables, no public hygiene enforcement or basic sanitation products for carts/baskets. The new staff is terrible and management couldnt care less. Corporate, where are you? Do something! This was going on BEFORE C-19 and escalated.

2021-11-13This Kroger location has taken care of most of our food needs for years. During the past 1.5 years, they have had some difficulty keeping everything in stock. However, I feel they’re doing the best they can with what have. Why not 5 stars? Because they’ve given us produce with mold on it a couple of times. They’ve had so many people asking for items, though, I can forgive them.
