Very rude ManagerNot cooperative manager as per website, you have ev charger and also you didn’t mention that this paid on website and whatever charger is out of order / not working. Also this is not compatible with Tesla. for charging manager not allowed my personal charger on regular plug. Also she told if you want I can cancel your room.As per this 0 ratingsI am not recommend to anyone.
I would give zero stars if I could but you have to leave something. We booked this reservation on what we thought was the hotel website, however it ended up being a third party which charged us in advance. We selected this hotel because it had a pool and we were staying overnight to do Lego land and the aquarium. Upon checking in we were told their pool was down for maintenance. We asked to cancel our reservation as the pool was the main reason for our stay. The desk clerk stated that they could not do anything for us. ( they already had our money, so what were we going to do). We tried calling the booking service who contacted the hotel and explained our case, and asked for a refund. The hotel again said “Too Bad” so I’m out 150.00. I will go out of ,y way to tell everyone I know that Hampton Inn sucks and I will NEVER stay at another Hampton in as long as I live.
The front desk clerk Natalia was very polite and accommodating. The atmosphere was so peaceful and pleasant. From the lobby to the room was very clean and neat. I enjoyed the breakfast during my stay as well. Just an awesome experience overall. Thank you for your professionalism Natalia. We will definitely stay there again!
UPDATE: I reached to Hilton Corporate Offices via email after our trip. The next day they called me and listened to our experience. They were extremely professional and understanding. They later reimbursed me the amount I paid for the room including tax. They even gave me extra Hilton points. I knew I couldnt go wrong choosing Hilton brands. Thank you Hilton team!PREVIOUS REVIEW: I wish I can give 0 stars to this hotel but I understand that 1 star is the minimum allowed. I have already emailed the CEO of Hilton hotels about our horrible experience at this hotel and I will be filing a complaint to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) as well.I booked a room at the Hampton Inn Detroit/Auburn Hills-North (Great Lakes Crossing Outlet Mall) for one night, April 2nd, 2021. We were traveling with our 8 years old daughter and she loves to enjoy hotels pools during our stays. From all the reviews I read, it seemed like the hotel pool was open. My daughter was very excited about the pool.Unfortunately, when we arrived at the hotel, I saw a sign at the front desk stating that the pool was closed for the weekend. I was extremely disappointed about that and I respectfully told the front desk associate that we cant stay at the hotel if the pool is closed. I told her that this matters to us because of our daughter. I was in total shock when she showed absolutely NO sign of empathy about our situation. The next thing she told us was that it had passed 24 hours before our expected stay and they would not give us a refund. This did not make any sense to me. I told her that I would have chosen another hotel if I knew that the pool was closed. Unfortunately she was NOT trying to understand us a bit. I have never seen such a careless associate at a Hilton branded hotel. I wanted to talk to the manager. He seemed to help a little bit. He called the hotel next door and asked their manager if they would allow us to use their pool but he didnt get a positive answer. He told us that the pool closure was out of their control and he cant do anything else. He told us they are not supposed to give us a refund. I told them pool closure may not be under their control but its under their control to give us a refund. It would have taken them only a refund for one night to make us feel valued. They failed to do that. We ended up booking a room at the last minute price at the Holiday Inn Express next door.Im still under the shock of this event. I can NOT believe that we have been treated like trash at a Hilton hotel. Im now expecting someone at the corporate level to give me an apology and a reimbursement.
Positive: The rooms were big and clean and the breakfast was great Negative: The staff (manager on duty the night we stayed) was rude and inconsiderate. She accused us of being too loud 3 times at 8pm at night when we just gotten back from shopping all day and were watching TV and the teens were on their phones watching tik toks
The receptionist was very sweet and kind. And she did an amazing job cleaning our room. Thats the only reason Im giving stars. We got there to check in around 4. Our check in time was 3. We had two rooms next to eachother and due to them being understaffed we were told both of our rooms wouldnt be ready for a couple hours. They had no one there to clean them. I got dressed in their public bathroom and headed to our destination we had plans for. Thank goodness I decided to get ready at home instead of the hotel because I would of been SOL. We returned to check in to our rooms at 930pm, waited an extremely long time and finally the same receptionist came down from just getting done cleaning both of our rooms herself. 6 and a half hours after check in time was supposed to be, we were allowed to go to our rooms. They are unbelievably short staffed and I actually feel terrible for their employee that was forced to run the whole hotel by herself. Unbelievable. And they still charged us full price. Horrible.
Great hotel! perfect location, very easy to get on and off i75. It was quiet, clean and sanitized for covid. Shower had great pressure. Beds were one of the best I have stayed in! If you download the Hilton app you can use you phone as a digital key so you don’t have to go to the front desk. Perfect for late arrivals! I would 10/10 recommend and will definitely stay here again.
The suite we were in was amazing. Comfortable beds, an amazing looking room with an incredible layout. The Hampton Inn is located right across from a giant mall that has anything and everything to entertain your shopaholic needs. Theres a pool, fitness room, and the staff is super friendly and helpful.
Please be aware of your surroundings because a man who had been sitting on the bench outside followed my daughter in-law into the hotel asking her for her name and room number. The front desk did not ask if he was a guest or not nor did they ask her if he was bothering her - instead they asked her for her room number while the man was near (as her key was not working). If you care about your familys security be aware because this hotel does not pay attention!
Hotels was very clean and tidy. Nicely decorated. Rooms are spacious. Bathrooms were very large. Beds were comfortable. It was quiet except for a garbage truck that came to collect trash outside our window at 4:30 a.m. The breakfast was totally amazing. Delicious hot food and tons of choices. We were very impressed. The pool is nice except the water was too chilly for some of us to go in. We really like staying here and were very impressed with it. If you plan on going to the mall, we were able to walk from our room to the mall in only a couple minutes.
Supposed to be able to check in at 3pm; didn’t get to until 8:30pm! My friend had to get ready in the public restroom because our rooms were unavailable. No apologies were made besides the front desk employee saying only two people were working. After check out, I found out they charged us incorrectly for both of our rooms. Tried contacting the manager, Joe, and he was too busy to talk and never called me back. Finally had booking.com get in touch with him, and he wouldn’t give us any compensation for the extremely latecheck in. He also said they billed the correct amount, so I’m currently involved in a billing dispute between them and booking.com. Only stay here if you want to deal with a headache!
We needed a room for 6 and when we got there we were given a room for 4. We were then told that a mgr made the mistake. We were then told we would have to rent another room. I asked the clerk to have the mgr call me but he/she didnt. The pool has vomit in it and was very clouded. This is by far the worst experience I have had and all because the mgr wouldnt correct their mistake and made me pay for it. We, of course, didnt have other options nearby otherwise we would have left. I also Love their response, unfortunately your reservation called for two queen beds. Lol, I didnt ask for 2 queen beds, I asked for a room for 6 people. No, sorry we made the mistake and forced you to pay for 2 rooms. Way to go!
Positive: Was clean which is vital these as days. Negative: Desk person had a name tag that said banana.. one of the keys didnt work. Wasnt told about energy efficient light system and just thought another location had a power outage since no lights in main room or bathroom.
We stayed here for a family wedding. Our room was very clean, quiet and bed comfortable. The staff is excellent in every way! Very caring and attentive. Breakfast was the usual continental breakfast with a few hot options, but was well kept, stocked and clean. We would definitely stay here again!
I have been going to this hotel for 10 years 5-6 times a year they have always been spot on with every thing and i understand the problems with help now a days as they make more money from the government by staying home. My issues during my last stay was not the norm with this hotel as hey have always been one of the BEST that I stay in!
Great breakfast, very clean. Out of dark coffee at 7:30 am.221 is a very nice room but has issues. Glad I had ear plugs for the noisy refrigerator and the adjacent vending machine humming in the wall against the headboard. No need for alarm if you want woke up at 4 am, thanks to the dumpster pick up service noise. Recommend stay out of 221 and ask for the east side of the building for a room. Ill know better next time.
Very nice! Ruth at front desk was excellent. I mentioned we were in town due to a birthday party, and they had a small cake for us in the room! We had a 2 queen with sofa suite, and it was huge! More than ample room. Bathtub had grab bars, which I do appreciate. Plenty of towels. Only reason I am not giving a 5 star, is that there was only 1 bathroom sink. (The was a kitchen style sink in the mini fridge area.)
I was impressed for the price and pleased with the quality.Clean and spacious room/bathroom.Very polite and gracious people work here. Breakfast area was clean and the eggs were decent. That alone is a miracle for breakfasts of this type. The room was clean and both the room and bathroom was spacious. I loved the huge shower. They won a 2015 award for excellence and you see why.All and all I will come back when the need arises.TlDR:Price, service, cleanliness all are above standard for this hotel model.
This was an excellent hotel. Not overly extravagent but had all the amenities one would typically need for both personal and business travel. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was one of the better ones Ive had in my recent business travel. More importantly, hotel staff were EXTREMELY hospitable and helpful. Overall, I was very pleased with this stay.
Ruth, at the front desk, was so friendly and helpful I’d stay again just because of her. That being said it had been a while since I had stayed at a Hampton Inn. I don’t remember the beds being so cheap feeling. It was hard to get a good night’s sleep on it and I could also hear the person in the room above me stomp around late at night. Perhaps the hotels are cutting cost these days where they can, figuring most people will deal with it for a night or two.On a positive note, this hotel had been upgraded with the key system to activate the power in the room like many hotels in Europe have been doing for years. I wish more hotels would do this.
Stayed 1 night, but wished that I could have stayed longer! James at the front desk was the greatest! Very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and the good eats! Breakfast was pretty good! 1 waffle maker so be prepared to wait. The sliced pineapple was the best! The outlet mall is also behind the hotel for those of you that love to shop!
We used The Hampton Inn as the designated hotel for my wedding in the area. We could not have been happier with the accommodations at this hotel. The rooms were clean, spacious and updated. The service was outstanding from start to finish! Every staff member we interacted with was extremely helpful and kind. We had a lot of requests with a large group of people and Im very grateful for their willingness to accommodate. 10/10 would recommend for large groups and events!
I satay at this location every two weeks for at least a night. The staff is amazing. The location is great close to Top Golf and across one small parking lot to the Mall. Truly a great location. Two right turns to major highway so no traffic lights to get on the road south.I highly recommend the stay, Beds are very comfortable. And Complementary water at check in so that is a very nice touch.
Beds were comfortable, shower was nice. Tv was terrible , I mean terrible. The tv is directly on the wall to someone else’s room. So keep your volume on 15 or you’ll get a noise complaint, I don’t think it’s worth me coming back. Only scheduled cause it was close to shopping.
The hotel met ALL my expectations and beyond! The welcome from the front desk was truly amazing! My daughter wanted to celebrate her 10th birthday in a hotel to swim with her friends and be close to the mall. Im so HAPPY I chose this hotel! The ladies at the front desk were the best, and when they found out it was my daughters birthday they made sure she felt special. I was extremely touched by the warm wishes, birthday card, balloons and they even wrapped towels to resemble a tiered birthday cake. This was the first time I visited this hotel and I was extremely impressed with EVERYTHING! The room, lobby, pool, all the amenities were perfect. NO EXAGGERATION here.Thank you Hampton of Auburn Hills. Youre #1 in my book!
While we were at Top Golf, an ice storm hit, we live right about 45 minutes from Auburn Hills so we didnt want to chance a risky drive home. We made a late/last minute reservation to stay for the night and they welcomed us with great hospitality and amenities to accommodate our spontaneous stay. Glad we chose the Hampton! Would recommend, as well as stay again!
We had a wonderful stay. Every member of the staff was smiling. The desk hosts are very kind and assured that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The room was very clean! It is obvious the employees take pride in their work. The beds are amazingly comfortable! I need to say thank you to General Manager, Brandon Louchart for going out of your way to accommodate my family with adjoining rooms (last minute plans.) Your professionalism goes above and beyond! You truly care about your guests. Thank you again! P.S. My children loved the pool!
No staff wore a mask for the 2 days I was there. No housekeeping, front desk staff or most of the other guests in the lobby. Nobody asked guests the put their mask on either. I brought it to the staffs attention and the night clerk told me, sir, Im behind a screen so she doesnt have to. Not safe to stay at this hotel, clearly they have a culture against masks.
We have always been pleased with this Hampton, but this time, we had a very loud neighbor. They started playing their music (loud with lots of bass) at 1:30 in the morning. We heard the night desk attendant banging on their door, but to no avail. After our complaint at 3:30 a.m., we were told WE could move rooms!!! We had planned on staying for 5 days, so we had moved in and were not about to move all of our belongings at 3:30 in the morning. Needless to say, there was no sleeping this night. There had been other complaints besides ours. Not sure we will keep our 5 day stay. I dont know the policy about disruptive guests, but there sure needs to be something in place so that those of us who are responsible and respectful dont get punished for those who arent!
Great location for shopping at Great Lakes Crossings. Easy on and off the I-75. Clean and comfortable rooms. Good breakfast with multiple options for the whole family. Only downside was the temperature/humidity of the room. Room was very dry and the temp control was on the unit right by the window. As the window area was very cool the heater would kick in and heat up. Then the rest of the room was very warm. Maybe with multiple night stay we could have regulated the temperature better. But we find this temp/humidity problem in a lot of hotel rooms. We will stay here again
I was only there for a short while between the ceremony and reception of a wedding. The front staff and shuttle driver were incredibly nice and pleasant to work with. The area seemed clean and well kept, with a nice coffee nook, modern and stylish decor. Slow elevators and Im told the complementary breakfast left much to be desired
I found the rooms to be perfect for a flying visit. The size of the room is ok for us without any big luggage. The rooms are immaculately clean. The staff was courteous and even complimented us on our wedding attire. In the last few weeks all the Hamptons I have stayed at have improved.
Top notch service upon arrival and also departure. Breakfast was included. What a great location to be in also. Youre right across from Great Lake Crossings so if you need to take a break and freshen up, just walk across. Meijers and Costco and down the road (5mins) and also the Gas station is across the bridge. The rooms could use a little upgrade in terms of carpeting but otherwise the beds were comfy to my liking. Being able to have breakfast included is always a key thing when choosing hotels. The food selection was healthy and delicious.Really recommend this hotel. Definitely coming back.
Everything in the room is well set and thinked of. It has all you need in the right place and dimension. Additionally all decoration is modern and relaxing. The bathroom is one of its better advantages due to the nice distribution, high pressure in the shower and tub. All products provided are of very good quality. The best part is to get into bed. They have the best mattresses and pillows for an incredibly comfortable rest. In the morning, the complementary breakfast is very nice, with a variety of options for all tastes. Very good option and very well located.
Great hotel and location. Very clean, friendly staff, and spacious rooms. Needed to stay overnight after a return flight from Florida, as a bad ice storm was passing through the state and hitting the area where I live. It was a warm and welcome place, during the cold and miserable weather. I slept peacefully (for hours) and was ready to drive home the next day.
I thought the hotel as a whole was incredibly clean. We were greeted with friendly warm smile everywhere we went. Excellent location with easy access to all public transportation. The stay in the hotel is value for money. I will stay at this hotel on my next trip to the area.
Excellent friendly staff, room was nice and clean, the Noon check out was very nice, and free breakfast had a lot of variety including a smoothie option and fresh fruit. Two complaints though. The room was so hot. The AC was on the whole time and we still ended up sweating and the blackout curtains didnt actually cover the window so as soon as the sun came up we were blinded
I stayed over memorial day weekend. The rooms were clean, and comfortable. The only reason Im giving it 2 stars it because the tile they used around the pool is EXTREMELY slippery when wet. I slipped and fell getting out, and cut my foot. My pinky toe was bruised and swollen for a week. I would have gave it 5 stars but my foot injury ruined my weekend. The breakfast eggs were kinda gross too. Just be careful in the pool area. Also the pool is small, the angle they used for the picture is just flattering.
The hotel room was clean. I was getting married that weekend and the staff went above and beyond to make my stay as stress free as possible. Having a complimentary breakfast was fantastic and gave us the opportunity to visit while we ate there without having to go find a restaurant.
The room was clean with great water pressure, but what really stood out was the staff. Both Megan and Mike at the front desk helped coordinate and execute a surprise for the bride and groom of the wedding we were attending, and they helped us store supplies for the reception for a few hours. Truly wonderful.
Stayed multiple nights and they did not clean the room overnight. There is apparently a button on the wall that if pushed by accident they will not clean the room. They also have the typical sign you hang on the door, which we did not hang on the door to keep them out. Upon returning in the afternoon and finding our room not cleaned, they only offered to bring up clean towels. Very disappointed in there customer service. As a side note, the breakfast is below standards for Hampton Inns.
Perfect for our family to stay at the night before our adventures at SEA LIFE, Peppa Pig play area, and Lego Land. Very clean room, great in room amenities. It was a beautiful area and convenient location for family fun all within one shopping strip. A+ Hope to stay again.
I really liked the hotel. The lady at the desk said no shuttle on the weekend. I’m like ok so I need it today cause it’s Friday and then she was like.... oh ummm no shuttle today. So the front desk staff are liars but the room was tight. Oh the breakfast was gross..Nice response you just went down to one star... it was 3 in the afternoon on Friday and they said no shuttle. So you just proved that your staff are lazy and liars. DONT STAY HERE
We arrived to find that they didnt have the room we booked. My sister called to confirm the room because the reservation was made through Expedia. She spoke to Meagan and confirmed that was the room we were going to have. We were supposed to have a king bed and sofa bed and accessible bathroom. Well we got the king but no sofa bed. They did bring in a portable bed for us. I called and left a voicemail message for the manager and it still has not been returned. I would at least have expected a call to convey their apologies for our inconvenience. There was what appeared to be black mold in the grout of the tile in bathroom. Would think twice about staying there again.
WOW! After having to do a last minute change of hotels while in town for a wedding...we made the PERFECT choice. Extremely friendly staff, very easy to book, this hotel is practically sterile. Top to bottom everything is new, cozy, quiet and very comfortable. I highly recommend staying here. Thank you Hampton Inn!!
Stayed for one night and drove from Toronto. Check in was after 3pm, so we did shopping at the mega outlet thats right across the hotel. Fast check in, friendly staff. We had a room on the 2nd floor with 2 queen size beds. Super clean and very comfy beds/pillows. Had breakfast in the morning. Great selection with hard boiled/scrambled eggs, toast, croissants, pancakes, cereals, muffins, yogurt, fruit, coffee, tea, waffle maker, orange juice, apple juice....amazing! We didnt use the pool, we had no time. All in all, amazing hotel and one of the best ones we stayed in so far and we travel quite a bit! Thank you!
The hotel is the perfect place to spend a couple of days relaxing. We found the location very convenient. All in all a good hotel in a good location with great transport connections. The service is exceptional. Our suite was kept impeccably clean. These rooms without doubt will be the best hotel room we are ever likely to stay in.
We reserved a room online for 5 people in July and when we arrived in October, we got a room with only 2 queen beds. They said that is what we reserved and that we could get an additional room for extra $$ or a rollaway bed. We chose the rollaway bed.We called Hilton Honors to figure out what happened and talked to a customer service representative and then to the reps supervisor. The 2 customer service reps were awful!!! They said that rooms with 2 queen beds can accommodate up to 6 people! I have never heard of that before! 3 people to a queen bed? When I said, Obviously, this room is for 4 people because there are 4 cups, 4 sets of pillows, and 4 sets of towels. They said, Well, we can get you additional towels if you want. It was unbelievable! They were so rude and unapologetic. I guess you have to be a Diamond Prefered customer to get any of the hospitality 100 years of hospitality, that they bost about on the large window clings on main lobby doors. Then to make matters much worse, my friend who slept on the rollaway bed got bitten by BED BUGS!We will never stay at a Hampton Inn or Hilton Hotel again. :(
Clean place to stat. Friendly staff! Good breakfast too! The pool was kind of small though. And they didnt have the roll away bed in our room when we got there like I requested so i had to go back to guest services to request for one and wait till they brought it to our room.
A friend and I stayed here for 4 nights as part of a mystery holiday. We are sure the thoughtfulness of the design will be appreciated by ***y todays travellers like us. The hotel is very clean in general. The hotel has all the services imaginable. Check in/out was quick and painless.
Our room was clean, spacious and had many nice features. A small fridge and microwave were provided and many charging outlets were available. Room temperature was easily controlled and water pressure and drainage were good. The hot breakfast and evening snacks are a nice bonus.
Clean room, with big kind size bed. The staff were very nice and helpful. The hotel is very close to a big shopping mall so you can easily satisfy all you shopping needs :) The breakfast was a bit not on my taste, but I am an European so it takes a bit to get used to it.
I would have had a better experience had the prejudice staff person not even allowed me to use a guest restroom. She said it was for guests only. That would be everyone that comes into the hotel right? Well Denisa is the only who has had a problem with me using the guest bathroom within the hotel. My irritation really comes because I was about to book a room this time because of the weather, but I had to pee really bad this time first. But she changed my mind and now I remember why I never book rooms here. She is a very snarky privileged looking young lady who needs to learn to appreciate anyone who walks in that door who may be a potential customer.
Do you want to sleep? If so, the Hampton Inn at this location is not for you. It appears to save on construction costs, the hotel was made out of paper. Literally. From hearing the people next door have intercourse, to the person upstairs every time they decided to walk around their room (which was unusually a lot), to the cleaning staff vacuuming a room 3 doors down, everything can be heard in this hotel.Dont get me wrong, the hotel is new, its nice, its designed well - but, if you want to sleep. If you want quiet, it just isnt the place to go.
Internet is iffy.TV is programmed to tune to state-run-propaganda channel (FauxNooz) when powered on.Climate control does work well - ran A/C all night and it barely got chilly.Shower head fell apart when trying to adjust from crowd dispersing water cannon to normal node.Bathroom door wont close because door improperly installed.Buttons allow guests to request privacy and please make up room. Neither was selected when I left for the day, so I suspected housekeeping would not make up room. I was wrong. On the up-side, front desk staff was pleasant at check-in.
Be VERY aware of the cancellation policy options when you pick your room.. called Monday morning to cancel a Thursday reservation and would liked to have been made aware/reminded that because I had a “semi-flex” option I would be charged IN FULL $220+ because I didnt cancel 9 hours sooner at the “4 day mark”. Definitely going to be choosing a different hotel next time I make plans in this area.
This is one of the best Hamptons that I have ever stayed at. Ruth, the GM, is someone who pays attention to the details. We were in town for a wedding for the weekend and she kept asking when it was, how it went, everything and knew us by face. That takes some special talents to recognize people like that so quickly. Breakfast was standard Hampton Inn, cant knock any points here as the brands breakfast is just average but it was clean and well stocked. If I could say anything, its that the staff needs to have things ready to fill back up when it runs out a little quicker than it was.Internet was good, sure wish there was a hot tub :(Side note: this hotel is right next to the michigan crossing outlets and its a big bright clean mall with a lot of options including a Barcade in the vein of Dave and Busters that is ran fantastically and open till 2am for adults 21+ We had a lot of fun there! This hotel would be great if you have a lot of downtime and want something to do.We asked for late checkout as we had nowhere to be for a while and it was met with no questions asked, and made sure we were taken care of. I would absolutely stay here again. Great job team!
Went here to look at room group rates for a wedding. Rooms appeared to be clean, with quality linens and accommodations like TVs, coffee maker, decent lighting. The suites they have are interesting, very large main area. I do wish Hampton Inn would change their carpet in their hotels because it has always come across to me as kind of dull looking. Other than that, breakfast and coffee has always been good at Hampton Inns, but make sure you put your DND sign in the door if you dont want to get woken up too early.
Horrible experience. Checked in with grandsons 5 &7 and my daughter. Sink drain did not work but kids were already in bed. In morning shower drain did not work. Tv turned on but a black blob and starburst appeared. Picture missing from wall. Front desk said they would take care if it all. They charged me $400.00 for replacement of the television we never touched! I called corporate to find management had written in notes that tv was smashed. I am a senior citizen, respectful and honest, 4 hrs away from home, late night, 2 small boys and we left the hotel feeling victimized. Hotel refused a refund of the evening we left . $683.00 bill for one night stay in a substandard room, treated disrespectfully , kids crying. Their explanation was that 2 staff members check each room. I find it hard to believe that they didnt check the 2 drains and missing picture, but DID check the TV! Will never stay at another Hampton or Hilton. 100percent satisfaction guarantee is their motto. Perhaps We break it, YOU buy it is more appropriate! I have never felt this helpless, vulnerable, and taken advantage of in my life. I value my integrity. It has been stolen. Please pick anywhere else. No one needs a family fun adventure turned into a bad dream. I am heartbroken.
The room was very spacious and comfortable. Best of all was the rest room which had plenty of complimentary goods to make up for my poor planning abilities. The location was conveniently located for getting to DTE Energy Amphitheatre. The only downside was that parking seemed a bit scarce. Luckily here is plenty of parking in the mall next to the hotel. Im sure if I had arrived earlier than midnight I would have found a spot.
Hotel is well located on the loop around the Great Lakes Crossing mall, which makes it easy to find, easy to direct people to, and has convenient amenities close by. The rooms are generically simple for hotels around the same price range, but I did find the beds comfort level to be above average. Overall a good, affordable stay.
This hotel is i. Then parkinglot of the great Lakes crossings mall. Perfect location for shopping. The rooms are up to date and kept clean. Free breakfast in the morning was good and they kept the food fresh. Better than the holiday Inn next door. Ive stayed at both and I would recommend the Hampton over the holiday inn if you have a choice.
Stayed here because of the proximity to the mall, The hotel is fairly new and everything was great. The whole place was very clean. With easy access to all public transportation. Most of the people who work there are very professional. From the moment we pulled up we felt taken care of.
Checked in with my mother and two boys (5 & 7) at 9:00pm on a Friday night. Tucked the kids in bed and went to sleep. Tried brushing our teeth but the sink wouldn’t drain, the shower wouldn’t drain, and the flatscreen tv had a black blob with a smash mark when we turned it on. We complained to the front desk at 8:00am and they said they would repair it. When we returned to the hotel, we were told we were being charged $400 for damage to the tv! We left that evening and they refused to cancel the reservation and still charged us.
This is the best location. Next to a huge Mall. Tons of restaurants. Stayed here during the Woodward Cruise last year. Quiet rooms. Comfortable beds. Friendly desk staff. 24hr free gormet coffee. Excellent buffet. That guy who left the bad review needs to get his head examined.
The stay was great. But. Lol. The room card key light controller is dumb. I wish someone could explain this to me. I can’t imagine how putting your room card key into a Reeder so you can turn on lights in your room is more energy efficient. I just left one of my keys in it Motion detection seems to be the more reasonable way to go and more convenient for the occupant.
We booked this place because it had open pool and we could have adjoining room...when we arrived Micheal at the front desk made me feel like I was asking for a million dollars it took him forever to find conmecting rooms I dont know why we make reservations then the pool was open but you could only have it right now or in the morning we had plans for right now so that didnt work for us.I called back later in afternoon amd was able to get a slot in the pool for 9-10 when I call in the morning to see if we could go a little earlier he said oh we only have it from 930-1030 what why did I make a reservation if you were going to change it ugggg and I thought there was some sort of grab amd go breakfast but where is it 🥲🥲 I sure would of went somewhere else we are here for two birthday and wow so so disappointed a lot of $$ not alot of service
This review is merely a heads up to let your perspective customers know what type of place they are dealing with. I am going to file with the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission unfair treatment of people (especially the elderly) during these (“unprecedented times” is a trite phrase used to describe our global crisis brought on by the novel coronavirus, which has altered life as we knew it.) First know that I have tried for several MONTHS to resolve this wrong. I’ve emailed your GM at his email address (waited almost a week) for a response and never got one. So now is the time to let everyone know how Hampton Inn treats people.**Beginning follow up** After filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau we received the reply from the Hampton Inn Detroit/Auburn Hills North General Manager. He said in his response that I was “Slandering” him! Between GETAROOM.COM and the Hampton Inn Detroit/Auburn Hills North when we reached out to have the reservation money charged back to our Credit Card they said they would make a determination and then advise us. In the meantime we called the Hampton Inn Detroit/Auburn Hills North to discover that they weren’t requiring the third party partner GETAROOM.COM to process any credit card payments to them because they were basically closed. That the Hampton Inn Detroit/Auburn Hills North only had persons to answer the phone. Remember this was the 1st week and just the start of the lockdown. When I didn’t get any return Information from either GETAROOM.COM or the Hampton Inn Detroit/Auburn Hills North about the charge back we decided to “dispute” the reservation charge through our Credit Card company. The dispute was denied on the basis that we were “no shows”. That was the first thing we did was”cancel the reservation” But GETAROOM.COM requires a 4 day cancellation period, the lockdown or the Governors Emergency order was THREE DAYS before the reservation at the Hampton Inn Detroit/Auburn Hills North. So the fee for missing the GETAROOM.COM period for cancellation was 1 nights booking in our case this was ($155.86). Our event was cancelled by the Governor’s Lockdown order and because of our age we were told to stay at home which was also part of the Governors Lockdown order. But the Credit Card”dispute” was denied because GETAROOM.COM claimed we ever cancelled the reservation so we were “no shows” therefore we forfeited the room charge. We got zero help from the Hampton Inn Detroit/Auburn Hills North who actually was paid the $155.86 per the denied “dispute” from our Credit Card company.
This place was my worst stay ever didn’t have towels when checked in had to ask for them the room stinks and after all that a week later I get a charge for 50 buck and they tell me it’s for damaged items they just ripped me off and told me there’s nothing they can do about it I would not stay there at less at the Auburn Hills in Michigan worst place ever DONT STAY HERE
Excellent location, just across the street from the biggest mall in MIchigan and very close to many restaurants and the Pistons stadium. The staff is great. Price is a little high compared to other places but definitely worth it. Indoor pool, parking and breakfast are included.
Service was horrible at desk. They gave away the suite we booked and prepaid for 3 months in advance. Upon arrival, we had more people for the room available. Their solution was to charge us additional for a 2nd room or find somewhere else. Will never stay at a hampton inn again. Ever
Very nice plqve to stay when you are away.. good ambience, good hospitality, ckean, well maintained.. only concern is that there is no restaurant in the hotel.. but they have complimentary breakfast.. also, you can order through doordash any kind of food you want.. overall, its a worth...

2022-02-23Ciara at the front desk is super pleasant and amazing! Third shift lady didn’t seem to have as much love for her job as much as everyone else I noticed on the team, even the breakfast lady was pleasant! Comfortable beds, a 24 hour gym, complimentary breakfast 6a-10a in the lobby, pool goes up to 5.5 feet and the biggest PRO is it’s right off the highway and within walking distance of Great Lakes Northern Outlet! Only con is the rooms needs to be updated and you can hear every stomp in the building. Also, I know marijuana is legal or whatever but I didn’t appreciate finding a little half of “blunt” under our bed. I think of crawling babies please be more careful with cleaning housekeepers! Thanks so much again! Would recommend!

2022-02-24If only there was an option for zero stars! Customer visiting from Turkey, booked two rooms for 4 nights, flight was cancelled from Miami to Detroit, I called Sierra (Manager) at Hampton Inn and ask they wave the charges for one night since their flight was cancelled. She says, sorry. I ask her if she would rather have them stay for 3 nights (by waving the charges for the 1 missed night) or have them stay somewhere else. She chose the later... brilliant service.

2022-03-31Rating based on expectations for price. Check in staff was very personable, and helpful. Breakfast was great, not sure if everyone expects this, but they have the waffle makers my kids love, sausage, eggs, potatoes, and many other options. Coffee wasnt the greatest, but didnt take from experience. The facility was very clean; room, pool, breakfast area. Right next to Legoland, Sea Life Aquarium.

2022-05-04The location is unmatched. The pool was closed (100% of the reason I booked the room was for my daughter to swim.) Very disappointed. Breakfast was hot and ready. Average stay.

2022-03-30I was double charged for my room and had to bring it to the hotels attention one two different occasions. I still havent been reimbursed for this charge that was the hotels fault. I did not have great service when I brought this to their attention. All I was told was they hit the wrong button. Later I checked the status and nothing had been done to fix their mistake. Very disappointed.
