Computer lets you set reservations when counter will be closed. Rude counter people. Non-existent customer service on phone. No care if reservation in 1 name while card in another and card in a completely other state. Just a Sorry and next. Or sorry will cost additional $20 per day. Complete rip off artist.
I recently rented a Nissan Ultima from Hertz for 9 days, picking it up at Flint Bishop Airport, Michigan. The employees were very helpful and courteous and the car was clean.On the last 45 minutes of my 3-hour drive that night, it started raining fairly hard. Unfortunately, the windshield wipers were desperately in need of replacing. My concern was poor visibility on unfamiliar roads with no street lights and bad wiper blades. This was not a good combination. Fortunately, I arrived safely at my destination, but the following day I had to take time during busy vacation schedules to get the blades replaced. The price of the new blades was deducted from my bill at the time the car was returned.In addition, six days later my dashboard warning system alerted me that one of my tires needed air. I was on my way to a funeral and wearing dressy clothing. It was, unfortunately, another inconvenience to stop and take care of this.Both of these issues, although small problems at best, tells me that routine maintenance was not performed on this vehicle. I will keep these experiences in mind the next time Im in need of a rental car.
We now understand why they are filing for bankruptcy!! Card was charged for an extra when the car was returned on time, by 5pm ... the place closes at 2pm on sunday and now we have to wait 3-5 business days for a refund that should never have been charged. Secondly, we ordered a mid sizes for camping they gave us a 2020 mustang because thats all they had and still charged us for the mustang even tho we requested a mid size and they didnt have any. Hands down worst experience, wait on hold for hours to get answers. NEVER NEVER RENT HERE
The only reason I didnt give five stars was because they didnt have enough people to clean the cars other than that I was in a bind and I had to return the car I was using for a car that wasnt broken down Linda and her team was very thoughtful and helpful throughout the process and made it go by as quickly as she possibly could considering the constraints
I accidently left my wallet in the glove compartment. Granted that was my error. But these people knew exactly who had this car. It was rented within minutes of me dropping it off. I tracked it myself. Made contact with the flint michigan store. They actually started ignoring my calls. Makes me feel it was.your employees that stole wallet, stole my cash, and used my credit cards. Shame on you. If I wasnt trying to be a half decent christian id tell you to choke on what you bought. You never even called me back. Poor management, thieving staff, and ratchett customer.
2nd time I ordered from this location and was able to place a reservation only to show up and be laughed at saying they were sold out for weeks. They were confused as to why I would be frustrated they would take a reservation and not have a car with no advance notice, leaving me stranded. Will be reporting this location to the BBB and contacting the heads of customer service and North American operations to investigate, don’t want anyone else to show up like I did with no means to remedy the situation.
Very rude desk lady. Reserved through expedia for a total of 135 and some change. Get there and they needed to downgrade my reservation for a total of 258 and some change. Lady told me that expedia had added extra coverages but expedia has their own coverage for 10 a day not 150.
If there was a zero star rating I’d put that. Booked a reservation and had a CONFIRMATION NUMBER but was told when we got there that they had no cars available. Their representative compared their booking process to that of the airlines where they overbook in hopes someone won’t show up. He then explained how because of supply and demand they up charge everything they do have to make The most money. Good thing I wasn’t coming from out of town and banking on a confirmation number actually confirming anything. What a waste of my time and gas up to airport. If you don’t have cars available then I shouldn’t have been able to get a confirmation number and think you did. Then when we ask questions you refer to “they” overbook. You’re a representative of this company and you should take accountability for how it operates when you’re working there. Will never be booking or recommending this company to anyone ever.
They were completely rude to me for no reason. My temporary license expired, and while I completely understand their policy; What I do not understand is why they had to be so rude to me. This is happening during the Covid-19 and my license never came (guessing the mail is delayed) in the mail, and I had my passport and expired license and no way of getting another new one at the moment. I feel like they could have handled the situation better and without attitude. I just do not understand, and do not appreciate their rudeness towards me.
I would love to give them no stars! I reserved a vehicle almost 2 weeks ago with my corporate card. I had the pick up time arranged & spoke to them the night before. I showed up on time & waited in line for 40 minutes just to be told that they didn’t have any vehicles. I have a gold membership & wasn’t supposed to wait in line. The guy was rude & when I told him who I had spoken to he said “yeah he would have told you there would be a vehicle.” He also argued with me saying I was not on their list of gold members, although the evening before they confirmed I was. Then they also told several other people in the line that had reservations that they didn’t have any vehicles for them either. Even worse is they act like they don’t care whatsoever. I have to travel for company business & I can’t just say oh well they were out of vehicles 😡. Guess what Enterprise had a vehicle & I was only in line for about 5 minutes. Hertz will not be getting any more business from me!
WORST COMPANY-- I made weekend Reservations prior to the weekend I needed vehicle for.Get all the way there to get my rental just to be told they didnt have it available as Amazon decided they needed to Rent all the vehicles...SO I 100% will never book with hertz again, as they couldnt put me in a new vehicle nor cared go call me to tell me they wouldnt have a car available.. Seems shady
Nick Stone, Mgr at the Flint Airport made a poor situation into a pleasant experience.We had rented a compact vehicle from Detroit Airport. Once engaged into drive, it sounded like there was a bad lifter. Noisy, so load you couldnt speak at the normal volume.Our plans were to drive to Indianapolis, however, we didnt feel confident the vehicle would make it.Flint Airport was the closest Hertz Rental Car. Spoke to Nick 11/27 , he explained we could make a car exchange on 11/29 on our way to Indi.As soon as we arrived, Nick had an upgraded car ready for us. It is so refreshing to have someone concern for you as a oustomer & proud to represent his company.Thank you Hertz, you will have our business for future travels..
I travel to the Flint area several time each year. I usually just borrow my sisters car while I am there but Last summer I needed a car so I used Hertz at FNT. The prices are very reasonable, and the customer service here is excellent. Since that time I rent a car every time I come. For under $100 Its worth every penny! But even more impressive is EVERY time the customer service is Excellent. Great job Hertz at FNT!! See you next month!
It’s been a month and a half, still have not received all the money they held! This company is a scam! They charged my card twice, once for a hold on the funds and another for the actual funds. Never have gotten the hold back. So I was charged twice for one service. I will never use this company again!
I specifically had requested a vehicle with SIRIUS and GPS. The young lady at the front desk gave me the keys to a car that was supposed to be well equipped. Needless to say the vehicle turned out to be a very basic model without satellite radio, GPS or even a backup camera. I rented the car at the airport in Flint, Michigan. I do realize that they are limited with their rental vehicle fleet but not to even have one car that has a couple of modern add ons it pathetic.
We rented a car for a week to drive to Arizona. We got a Chevy Cruze. It was a sports edition I think, had leather bucket seats and bigger rims. I enjoyed the car a lot, it was nice. The only thing I could complain about is when we were in Sedona AZ, the Change oil soon light came on. I took it to a Hertz in AZ and the said dont worry about it. The car ran great the whole way there and back and I got a good rate last min. Id return to them.
Nick at the Flint Bishop location is literally a hero - on Fourth of July weekend Hertz overbooked their location by 70 cars! 70! Nick got us our car and stayed over an hour past closing, also dealing with some nasty Karens who came up from Fl*rida. All the while it was a full pandemic outside. Shout out to Nick at Hertz Flint Bishop for being a true king - give him a raise and promotion.
Run awayDeplorable welcome, makes no effort to explain to us, signature of the contract made digitally before having it in hand without being able to read it before, saying that the full has been done and clean too, tank at 2/8 BUT indicated 8 / 8 on contract (I made a complaint, I never got a response), the car was dirty and smelled bad. Do not go there is advice

2022-05-17Wow, was leery about getting a car from small airport, expecting a variety of possible issues and had none. They are one their game! Staff were helpful and efficient, car ready, clean and good to go. Easy check in and out. Same easy process on return! Great job! Thank you for a stress-free experience!

2022-04-11When picking up my car, I was told they need amajor credit card. I only had a debit, and was not informed of this before hand. They would not rent to me until I had this. I will never do business here again. The lady at the counter was rude! Never again

2021-12-14Got charged more than it’s supposed to be.. saying I booked a private jet location. The place I booked for is flint bishop airport. The rate was higher of course. Then I called the original booking place to cancel for pick-up. The same counter person picked up the phone. This place is so sketchy. Don’t go here if you don’t wanna be scammed.

2021-04-06Positive experience.Picked up a rental car recently and had no issues. Prepaid online, the customer service agent was friendly and all I had to do was sign and go. Easy pick up, car was ready on time, I just arrived early. Car was easy drop off using the drop box.Had a brand new car with less 1k miles and had a good experience renting. Due to increase travel rates where getting really high ($200 a day) but I don’t think the branch directly influences those.

2021-03-18An employee accidentally voided my contract the night before i turned the vehicle in. The manager made me wait until i was nearly late to catch my flight....and then surfaced to tell me that she had to generate a new contract. They then charged me $40 / day for insurance verses the $20 / day that I agreed to, on my original contract. This brought my rental to over $700. When I complained, I was told that the insurance rate change had nothing to do with them. This was a scam to give them an opportunity to change the rate that was advertised... and sold to me... by Expedia. And they are unwilling to assist me after the fact. This company is awful and I will never use them again. Who in their right mind would pay $40 / day for the insurance?? I would not have rented the vehicle if I had known that the rate would be that high or if their employees were that incompetent. Having said that, I do not believe the managers story. I believe the voiding of my original contract... was intentional. As for the vehicle itself, it was filthy upon pick-up but the vehicle and its capabilities were as advertised. DO NOT USE HERTZ FOR ANY REASON.

2021-07-29Nice vehicle, friendly service. Only draw back was the passenger seat In front and Part of the back seat has something sticky and melted on them. Had to purchase a can of shampoo and brush so we could sit down.

2020-12-28I put a star so that I can write a review but in reality Zero stars. After reserving and paying for a rental car days in advance, when we got there the lady said they didn’t have a car for us. No solution, nothing, just no car for you. Even worst, the costumer service was very bad, the lady had an attitude, and even threatened to call the police on us, because apparently we should just be quite and take their bad service. The other rental car agencies near by were all sold out for the day (this is only 11am) so after waiting for 1 hour for someone to hopefully return a car, and no certainty from them about whether we could expect a car at some point that day, we ended up canceling our reservation and having to take our business to another company but unfortunately we wasted time, had an unnecessary bad experience, and were not able to get a car until the next day. Avoid this company.

2020-07-10We made a reservation a week in advance for 9:30 and were told that was fine, but when we arrived on time we were not given the car until 2 hours later. In a pandemic when people are trying to travel as safely as possible this is completely inexcusable. Also, none of the employees were wearing masks and there was no barrier set up between us. I will never again use Hertz for car rental needs after this awful experience. I would urge you to use a different car rental service.

Booked a 2 night / 3 day cargo van rental (Friday-Sunday) when I got to the counter I was told they have absolutely no rentals available because Amazon rented them all and there is nothing they can do, yet the Hertz website and Expedia both say they have rentals available and there are at least 10 cargo vans sitting in the Hertz parking spaces.The woman at the counter (no name badge) was rude and unhelpful. She told me they left me a voice-mail. I went through my phone right there at the counter - no calls and no voicemails on my phone. Glad I am local and wasnt coming off of an airplane expecting a rental! To top it off when you call the national customer service number you have to pay 5% on top of your rental cost to speak to a person! Never using Hertz again!
