They treat Uber drivers really poorly and this is the ONLY LOCATION here. Uber drivers pay them thousands monthly !! So to be paying that much and get awful customer service is just disgusting behavior. Especially dealing with the Indian guy there.Wish there was another location for Ubers to rent cars from because giving this company your $$ feels like a whole a$$ scam !! Terrible place.
Horrible customer service. I worked with branch manager Baljeet Singh who is shady and incompetent. Not only was i lied to and told that my rental just had an oil change but upon checking by myself i found out that by the end of my trip it would have been overdue for a change as it had not got one in 10k miles. And this was after i paid over $400 for a one day rental. Thanks to this location and Mr branch manger Baljeet i will not be choosing hertz rental for my future needs.
Horrible experience for uber drivers and unfortunately thats the only hertz location in Michigan thats partner with Uber. They just dont care about the customers. It doesnt matter if you reserve a car I showed up and they just didnt have that car. So hard to find an uber rental I had to call every morning for a few days in a row to catch one. They dont have enough cars and seems like they dont really need more customers cause the customer service is straight up horrible. I wish I could give them 0 stars.
Terrible communication and never there to answer the phone. Tried to extend my rental the day before I had to return it and the member there wasnt helpful at all and its sad its the only location in my area that does uber program. Very very hard to find uber rentals which should be easy and reservations dont matter because its still no guarantee I showed up after someone told me there were available uber cars but showed up to be disappointed to see they were taking all the cars to maintenance. More car rentals places need to implement uber eats program because this one is terrible
This place with the general managers help is providing the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I rented a car from the Norfolk Virginias Airport Hertz location at 8 am to return it at this location at 8 am after 24 hours. Apparently, this place does not open till 9 am, thus when I returned the car, the general manager insists that its not his fault and its my fault that I held on to the car for an additional hour, as such, Im required to pay for an additional hour even though I was there at 8 am to return the car however the place is closed and I could not. In all honesty, we are not talking a large sum of money here for the additional hour, but to deal with this type of customer service is ridiculous, unnecessary, and unacceptable. In my opinion, Hertz is essentially stealing money from their customers and I will never rent another car from this place.
Horrible experience with this location. Everyone we spoke with had a terrible attitude!! Was told that a car was on hold for us due to an insurance claim. Was told to call when we were at the dealership and someone from Hertz would pick us up to get the rental car. This was not the case! Whoever answered the phone (wish we would have taken his name) had a horrible attitude and was extremely condescending. Ended up having to use a different Hertz location due to the incompetence of the staff. No car was ever placed on hold for us, and no car was even available according to the staff member. Should have known they were incompetent last week when no one returned our calls regarding a question. If i could give no stars i would. If you use State Farm and are ever in an accident I would avoid this location.
What a terrible experience. Please save yourself and avoid using hertz. It makes sense why their average rating is only three stars. The reviews are definitely accurate of this hertz location.I had made a reservation for a full size and was told they only had mid size vehicles available. OK, no problem things happen. They tried to still charge me the full size rate. The rep acted frustrated and angry at me for asking her to correct the rate due to them not having the vehicle I reserved.When got in the car it smelled like smoke. I then asked the rep if i would be charged for this upon return. She said no, we keep records of things like this.Well... of coarse when I returned a different rep tried charging me for smoking in the car. I asked him to pull the records on the car and he did not, he was going on and on about how the cleaning fee would be $150 etc. After a half hour of back and forth I told him I was not leaving until he pulled the records.After pulling them up word for word he says I will not be charging you the cleaning fee, someone else smoked in the vehicle.This was the WORST experience I have ever had with a rental car company.
We had a bad experience at the Livonia pick up point. They didnt have the car we had reserved and we were offered an upgrade which was totally a shame. It looked like they dont need customers anymore and they expect you to tolerate whatever nonsense they come up with. Totally a bad experience renting a car from this place.
I would rate this place zero stars if that was an option. Manager was rude and not the least bit helpful. We leased a car from Florida location and dropped it off there. We dropped it off a day early but they close at one on Saturday, so we were charged two extra days plus late fees, even though we dropped it off a day early. Management not interested in repeat customers. As we will never lease another car from Hertz.
I wish that I could give zero stars. Now I fully understand why Hertz is having the financial struggles they are currently having. I reserved a car and went to pick it up on this past Saturday. Well, I get there, wait in a very long line, just to be told that he doesn’t have enough cars in his lot to rent one out to me. Excuse me? I asked him how that was possible and he told me there were other reservations booked in front of mine. Then he asked me to leave. I couldn’t believe it. I will never book a rental with this company again!
Lots of stupid little problems with their communication and knowledge. Each employee told me a different thing. Mainly regarding my contact info, the receipt, and extra charges for keeping the car longer.They rushed me out after I dropped off the car. I asked for a receipt and they said they would email it. I said I needed to give them my email because I didnt during pickup. Guy said it was Hertz policy to have our email so I must have given it to them. Days later, no receipt in my email... I called telling them I never received my email receipt. They looked and said I had never given them my email. Duh, this is what I tried to prevent from happening. The guy said even me giving him my email on the phone wouldnt help because the transaction is closed. No solution offered.Keeping the car a day longer? Even if you call ahead of time, you get a return change charge of $10 every day you make a change. It isnt just an extra day tacked on to your bill like I was told at pickup.I feel like I now know more about Hertz policies than the people at this location do. At least they were nice... kinda.
If I could give zero stars I would. Had to get my bank involved to get my money back, which I did for a car I never got to use. Marcia the young lady that works at this hertz location had a little attitude to her from the start and she stated she couldn’t give me my money back and that I had to call an 800 number to get my money put back on credit card, and Hertz’s phone people are a complete nightmare and scammers! I did get my money back only cause my bank got involved! Go with enterprise! Less drama, headache, scams and no attitude.
The reviews are REAL, Today I booked at this location despite the reviews. I originally already had rented from another location and decided to return and re rent from this location. You would think, me keeping the same vehicle 10mins before closing would save them time and the company money on labor but they declined me because I booked a midsize and my vehicle was a Jeep and tried to offer me a standard size car HE tried to pass as a full-size.-Keep in mind I’m Presidents Circle member (means nothing)- I also booked a midsize and received a Jeep upgrade- Booked a midsize here and they wanted to offer me a standard size as a full size even tho I’M GUARANTEED car size upgrade- They just wanted to Finesse me from something they never had in their inventory in the first place- I left with my Jeep and that location is left with this review and profit loss for this location.
I rented a car and Andrew UPSHAW was the rudest personI wouldnt recomend going to this car rental place he said he was the manager and is horrible customer service agent. NOW I AM WORRIED THAT THEY WILL FALSELY charge me for damanges that were on the car when I got it LUCKLY ME I took a recording of the entire car on the lot with the sales person saying - dont worry if your husband drives the car just dont tell anyone -_- umm no! I dont do this so he just wasnt able to drive the car since I didnt get a clear understanding of whatever that meant! RUDE
This place lied and said I was smoking in the vehicle I don’t even smoke. Charged me a 300.00 cleaning fee! And turned around and said he don’t smell any smoke because of his mask. But he see ashes which was actually crumbs on the carpet. The car smelled like wet Dog when I got the rental! Worst rental location ever!! I will never rent from hertz again!!
This is the most Unprofessional place I’ve ever tried to rent a car from i work for Uber and have called literally every day this week Regarding a reservation that I booked , I’ve called every day like The guy who works there named Mohammed told me to do and every time I call he has a attitude but keep telling me to check in every day to see if they have rentals for the Uber program but when I call you can hear the frustration through his voice which makes me not want to check to see if they have any rentals available which is ridiculous why should I have to be able to feel someone’s tension in frustration through the phone why is Lavonia the only location that merged with Uber but cannot accommodate any rental I would not refer anyone !!
Horrible service, had a car the reeked of cigarettes and had to take it back and trade for a different vehicle. The original car had a full tank of gas so we filled out full on return. The second car had a half tank, so we filled it to half on return. They ended up charging us because they didnt change the record on the switch.Avoid this place if at all possible. Tell your insurance you wont do business with them.
I called more than an hour ahead from the dealership, despite the employee telling me the car would be ready...it was not ready. There was trash from another customer in the front seat, back seat and glove box. There was no washer fluid and the driver side wipers did not work and needed to be replaced. The guy at the counter was short with me because I had a sense of urgency to leave to get to the other side of town to get my son from day care. Not to mention, I had a stroller and car seat and none of the guys offered (not that they had to) to help me put it in the car. I will never use this location and possibly Hertz again...thanks for a horrible first time experience!!
I had the worst customer service experience at this location!! The representative at the front Marcia Hamilton tried to pull a fast one on me. Knowing I was covered by my State Farm insurance why try to make me take your insurance. They charged me $14 a day... I spoke to my insurance rep & they also stated Hertz was not suppose to charge me or even try to offer their insurance. I don’t understand why try to get over on people knowing they already going through enough as it is.. I do not recommend this location to no one!! I’m every dissatisfied with my experience & how I was treated!!
The worst place you can try to get a rental i booked online 3 weeks in advance they called me the day of at 8 am and told me they didnt have the vehicle I booked online and that they have a mini van for me instead of the suv I booked...and to top it all off I get their and they told me they dont except debit cards even tho I payed upfront 3 weeks in advance and have 8 people I just Uber over to u guys with and payed for just to get done like this ? ..Happy 25th bday to me
Horrible experience. The gentleman was rude he was not helpful. The vehicle was not given to us at a full tank, so we didn’t return it on a full tank. They charged us $22 for fuel? There vehicles aren’t kept up well, there was still trash in the center council. I will not be back. Now I know why everyone goes to Enterprise.
I am a hertz gold member and recently met with an accident in my car. So, started taking rental cars on and off from hertz. Every time it was a great experience. Received 2016 model cars for great deals and got free day rental days. The service was very good and the cars were ready for pickup for all the reservations. I would recommend this rental for others. Just need to look for deals before making the reservation.
Terrible customer service. If HERTZ will not monitor this location, they will end up losing business to other rental companies. The manager AJ is very rude. I called this morning to ask a simple question if there were vehicles inventory at this location. Instead of answering the question he asked me about my rental eligibility. Completely irrelevant. He comes across as if he owns the business. Continue to tell me he has the right to refuse to rent. Becaus he was so RUDE I hang up and call another companyI needed 10 vehicles for business use o end up getting them from AVIS. I am going to report this to HERTZ corporate. This is a second time I have received very poor customer services at this location. The location at Canton are better and friendly. Sadly they didnt have enough vehicles today.
If I could rate this place less than 1 star i would. My experience with the staff located at this Hertz location was terrible. I recommend people to not rent a car from this Hertz location. if someone needs to rent a vehicle they will be better off geting a vehicle from another rental agency. Hertz rents out economy size vehicles in the mid size class, and they rent out mid size cars in the full size category, and so on. This is one way of how Hertz is taking advantage of people. Hertz has the perfect company name as their company business practices hurts customers wallets!!. Another way that Hertz is hood winking people is thier agents and managers will agree to a price deal with customers, but when the customer returns the car Hertz will add on additional fees to the final price that was not discussed with the customer during the original deal. The branch manager AJ Jensen is notorious for this. He is a terrible manager. When I went to the location to rent a car, a customer was upset about the price that was worked out before renting a vehicle, and after the customer returned the car they ended up being charged more than what they agreed to. There is usually only one agent left working at the branch to deal with multiple customers, which leaves customers frustrated because they are not being attended to for long periods of time. This should have been my sign to leave and go somewhere else to rent but I didnt, I though I would give Hertz a chance. I WAS WRONG TERRIBLE MISTAKE!! Hertz hurts!! The manager AJ Jensen should not be trusted! he quoted me a price before I rented the vehicle, we even shook hands on the deal but after I returned the vehicle more fees were added on to the final price. I discussed this with AJ and he had the unmitigated gall to tell me that the initial price was not what we agreed upon! This is not how a company should do business. Take my advice people, and just go rent a vehicle from another company! Doing this simple thing will save yourself valuable time, frustration, and money! Also, this location hardly ever has any decent cars to rent. You can rent a better quality vehicle for less money somewhere else!!
No complaints. Needed a standard sized SUV, which I dont think they normally have on the small lot. Called to confirm they could get it. A 2018 Traverse was ready prior to my requested pick up time, and the key and paperwork were ready upon arrival. Friendly staff. Overall a good experience.
I got into a car accident in December and had to receive a rental car through insurance. I was driven to the Hertz and I talked with the man there whose name I wish I knew now so I know who I could curse for a month of frustration. There was nothing wrong with the car, his attitude, anything, except the 450 dollars I was wrongfully charged because even after I had discussed that I did not want ANYTHING that was not covered by insurance, he put on my contract that I signed up for additional insurance on the car even after I specifically refused it. I was traumatized after the crash that morning and stupidly trusted the man so I did not read the agreement because I assumed he had abided by my wishes. After a month, with no warning, they posted the charge to my account . After numerous phone calls to the company, they finally offered me 50% back. Do not go here, do not trust them.
Even one star would be far too much! Both employees that tried to help were ridiculously incompetent. Gold Card rental and it took more than an hour to get a car. They had do bring the car to a repair shop first, although they mentioned that they had to pick up the car earlier that day from another location. I wonder why there was no time to check the car before my arrival. Luckily after an hour another customer brought back a car. The neverlost I got was more a everlost as they forgot to make it functional in the system. I could go on forever. Just a nightmare, places like these should be closed immediately

I cannot say enough good things about manager aj! My wifes car was needing a fix unexpectedly at ford, aj was able to go above and beyond to get me a nice focus for two days, told me if I get it back within 24 hours, you save a day, which I did. Just very friendly, quick location in and out no issues. Highly recommend
Worst ever, booked a mid size car in advance, just picked up but AC was not working. Went back and asked for replacement, but guess, they dont have any in stock so now I have to drive that oven to Airport and replace there. And even I am not getting paid for doing their job.Damn sure not to look back in future reservations
Dont even bother with a reservation. Youll show up and they wont have a car nor will they care they dont. Then proceeded to argue with you stating you dont have a reservation. You then show them your reservation, theyll look again then find said reservation and say like oh hmm yeah here it is...well I aint got none you might wanna call that ride back.. 🙄
Trash sevice. I picked up a car on 8/25/18 and was given a dirty car with dog hair in it. I guess it would have been too much like right to give me a car that was already clean. Nasty clerk just shrugged it off. Apparently, they had no way to clean out the cars. Then I was overcharged the insurance rate for whatever reason. Go somewhere else.
They tend to take advantage of people especially when an insurance company is paying for it. Random cleaning charges without evidence of an issue, rude customer service in every way from booking to drop off and an overall just nasty attitude from their staff. AVOID this location if you want to save hours of phone calls to nowhere.
This is the second time Ive received Unbelievably horrible service it took 15 minutes just for somebody to actually look at me theres no music theres 5 people twiddling their thumbs looking at each other wondering where the worker is. overall I wish I could give you no stars but theres no option for that. horrible management horrible workers that are also talking to each other about other customers right in front of me laughing about how theyre going to let the guy on the phone hold because they dont feel like dealing with him. hertz...you guys really need to do something about this Livonia location you are losing a lot of business and I seen two people walk out because of this and I was just dropping off a car. One guy asked if he could be helped out by some other guy sitting in the office and the guy straight up looked at him and told him I dont do rentals instead of just grabbing somebody for him you guys need to get over there and fix that problem u call a store immediately.
Don’t ever use them unless you want extra charges on your Account!!! Don’t try and call customer service either you will be told they don’t know what’s going on and give you another number To call and you will sit on hold for hours and never get through!!!! Straight thief’s!!!!!
I could not rent a car from Hertz because i didnt own a credit card, i have a debit, but they wouldnt not accept it. There was only 1 employee working at this whole location, and after an hour of my time being wasted i left for another car rental. Please save yourself the trouble and take your business elsewhere.
The rental car was dirty... I had to take my own personal time to clean the windows because it was an obstruction to my view... Todd the manage when I brought the car back and the showed no companion for this... Even when I picked the car up it was not ready... Do not recommend at all..
Been here for an hour already, we were the only people here for the first half hour. Brought me a car full of dings, bird doo doo, trunk full of dirt and only a quarter tank of gas (they put in the paperwork there was more gas in the car). Now they told me I have to wait for them to help a long line of people for them to wash the car and fill the almost empty gas tank and washer fluid. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE
Jenny Saad is phenomenal. she seems to always know whats best. thats the kind of thing i look for in business partners. we do a lot of business with them so i can call her that. when someone can take a lot of the guess work out for you and pick things that always make you happy its priceless. shes always looking out for you. Philicia is also very good.

2022-06-01I received a rental through my insurance company. I’ve since the returned two vehicles because of concerns regarding the safe functionality. I called and spoke with Adam the manager, who’s told me that I probably hit or ran over something because the vehicle (2nd one) was fairly new and only had 12,000 miles. He said this to me before even seeing the vehicle or exactly what was actually malfunctioning. He was very condescending when speaking with me over the phone. Despite me calling ahead to inform them I’d be coming in to exchange the vehicle I still had to wait close to 2 hours for my vehicle to be ready. I watched Adam assist customers on the phone while holding in his possession the keys to the vehicle in which was assigned to me while my agent waited for him to give him the keys. That took 20 minutes before they even began then I had to wait for the vehicle to be cleaned. As I wait for that to be completed they had to call on star which took another 45 minutes to a hour. The final straw was when I got into my vehicle and to find hair and stains on the seats. I’m trying to understand the reason for the extended wait if the car was barely cleaned. We have vivid going around and I have a 1 year son to care for. This is absolutely unacceptable. I will not be returning in the future I am deeply disappointed in the service I received from management.

2022-01-12Horrible management! Don’t even waste your time ! Either pick a different location or a different company!My insurance company booked my car but they decided to try to rip me off! They wasted 40 minutes of my lunch time! The only time I had to get the car! Then they were rude and unreasonable! They tried to manipulate me to upgrade the reservation by lying and give me wrong information! Do not go there!

2022-06-09The staff was pleasant. Eventhough I had an appointment I had to wait way to long to be picked up over an hour. Then I had to wait at least 45 minute at their office to get a vehicle & the vehicle was not riding as though it had checked out mechanicaly..The employees pleasant attitudes are the only thing that was positive, in my opinion.

2022-04-25STAY AWAY !!!The worst rental experience I have ever had. They will add charges for no reason. They charged me an extra day just because the car was dropped off on a Sunday (even though I called before renting it and made sure I can drop it off at that time with no extra charge).

2021-12-27Had 30 days of rentals on hertz or up to $600 . Returned car and was pretty much lied to and tried to over charge me. Turns out branch manager finally helped us. Thank u for your Help Andrew. U should fire the middle Eastern man working your front desk. Because of this experience WE WILL NEVER USE HERTZ EVER AGAIN. Funny how that works.

2021-06-24100% competent and friendly staff. Far superior to the other rental agency nearby. Clean, not crowded waiting area. Car was ready on-time and far exceeded my expectations with how seamless the online ordering and pickup went. Literally took two minutes from when I entered the door to when I left with the keys. I will be doing more business with them in the future.
