First I would like to state that Devin was great and had exceptional customer service. However Ill NEVER rent a car for this location again. It was my first and last time. I needed the car for one day to attend a funeral so I figured it should be one easy transaction. I was sadly mistaken. The car itself was just janky and uncomfortable to drive . The key came broken. I was told if it comes apart no biggie just put it back together. The car was wobbling all over the road as if it needed a wheel alignment and lots of other mechanical problems. It wasnt properly cleaned before me and overall just not a good rental car. To top everything off, the computer accidentally charged me an extra 100 dollars so I didnt have access to my money for a week because of that . Never had this problem with enterprise, I guess you get what you pay for .
Nice person. But when I got the vehicle it was not cleaned. Cup holder was dirty and sticky, and back cargo area had dirty footprints and dirty/muddy rubber floor mats in it. I was to much in a hurry to go back inside to complain.This put a very bad taste in my mind for ever renting from Hertz again.
During beginning of rental everything was fine. Told us we would even get a free upgrade since the car we rented needed an oil change. Our luxury vehicle smelled like smoke when we first got in even though it was clean on the inside but it had a service engine soon notification on the dashboard. The car was give. To us a 3/4 tank. I was informed to bring the car backAt the same 3/4 a tank. Upon driving out of state we kept getting low tire pressure notifications and had to put air twice in just to make it home. Looking at the tires I realized they were bald !! I also had a non functioning wind shield liquid situation where is barely squirted out which made it difficultTo drive. Before returning the vehicle there was a proper amount of gas 3/4 tank as advised. I spoke with the gentlemen working when I returned the car and informed him that the tire kept running low and he told me that he put air in it before because it was low and it probably had a slow leak . Why would u give a car out with a Slow leaking and bald tires ?? After all that to the same being charged an extra $40 because they say the car didn’t have gas when it was returned the same way it was given. I will never rent from this location again !!!
Don’t even waste your time. I made a reservation a week ago for the sake of holding the best price, and expecting an actual car to be available during that time. On the day of my pick-up, the Thursday before my weekend trip they wait until I call them to tell me they’re sold out until Monday. Which is the day I was planning on returning the vehicle. Don’t even waste your time. Pick a better company for your rental.
We reserved a minivan 2 months ago, and just received a call from Hertz one day before our departure saying that they overbooked oh, were sorry hopefully we can find another car. this is unacceptable I will never rent from Hertz again and I recommend everybody to Veer away from this company they dont know how to do business. The people we spoke with on the phone were very rude, inconsiderate and so unprofessional I will never work with these guys again. They also told me they had other people that they had to call and tell them they didn’t have cars for them either! As if that’s supposed to make me feel better?! Just shows the level of incompetence in this company. We reserved 2 months ago they should have told us if there was no car available we should have been told before 2 days before we leave. I would be very careful working with these people. theres many different rental companies out there and Hertz will not be on our list anymore.
Absolutely unprofessional! Never been at a business thats shown 0 concern for the customer. The manager is not concerned about the reservation and doesnt care what car we booked.We booked a Full size SUV and paid the price for it and he says we only got a reservation for a small SUV. In the end, did not even have an SUV and gave us a downgraded Minivan and called it an upgrade
Not the worst experience, but certainly not the best. Customer service rep seemed annoyed that I asked for a different vehicle than the one he arbitrarily assigned me without asking me a single question about my wants/needs for a rental. It was given to. Me under a full tank of gas, which is fine but return it at the same level isnt really a practical thing, so they got it back on full. My biggest concern was that the location is anot COVID compliant. When I walked in, the rep was eating in the lobby and then only barely managed to get his mask over his mouth; I could see his top lip. He didnt attempt to adjust the mask, just rocked that nose-out look. Gross.
This is my first time renting from this location. The initial car I got had a strong smell of perfume. Tried to just deal with it, but after a day I couldnt deal with the headache from the smell so I called to see if they would switch it for me. Mel accommodated me immediately and within an hour I had a new car! Good customer service is hard to come by and Ive had a pleasant experience because of her. Excellent customer service!
Awful customer service I rented a 2020 car fr this place and had mechanical problems from the time I drove out of the parking lot till the time I dropped it off. The tire went flat every hundred miles when I called the desk he said just make sure you keep it filled and we will fix it when you get back, extremely unprofessional. All the sensor lights kept popping on and off the whole trip, the breaks were grinding and to top it all off there was someones dirty nasty used mask under the seat along with 2 cubes of cheese and a lot of dirt and a half used pack of cigarettes in the center console, so this tells me they do not sanitize or clean out these vehicles between rentals. Id stay away from this place the guy behind the counter did not want to hear about the cars faults and Im sure they did not fix them the guy behind the counter was also extremely rude and pushy I will never use Hertz again.
I picked up a car from Anderson, SC; nice staff and management., they gave me discount on an upgrade. I was supposed to drop off the car in this location on Saturday 8:00 AM but since I was close to the location I dropped it off the night before on Friday at 11:30 PM.I call them to see if everything is alright with the car and to confirm the final charge, first, they were trying to charge me $200 more; the agent was claiming I returned the car on Friday and since they processed it on Monday I was responsible for Saturday and Sunday. Long story short, after 30 minutes waiting on the phone he dropped the price down but still was charging me $12.00 more than what they supposed to for 1 day late fee. They were claiming they didnt see the car on Saturday and they refused to check the security cameras. Management didnt help either.
I got cheated by this agent!My insurance company AAA booked a car for me, around $25 per day for four days due to a car accident as my insurance covers $30 per day. When I picked up the rental car, I restated that I only need a car which costs less than $30 with all tax and fees when I was offered an additional insurance. I knew my car insurance already covers rental car insurance so no any additional insurance need to buy. When I was required to give my credit card, I asked why as AAA should pay for it. She answered me it’s temporary. I left the agent with a rental car and requirement of full tank gas when returning car. Then I returned the car with full tank gas after four days, got checked if it’s full tank gas and got a receipt with about $89 charge. I questioned her and got answer that the charge will be gone after AAA pay it so I thought it’s rental fee. But after a month, when I checked my credit card account and found this charge and called the agent, I was told that this is additional insurance, $14.99 per day, including car return with an empty gas tank coverage and because I signed the document they can not do anything. How come I knew that the document I signed included this item? I thought the document I signed is for the car rental. They insisted that as I signed the document and was aware of this charge so they can not do anything. I feel that I was fooled! Why did you required me to return the car with full gas tank when I picked up the car and checked it when I returned the car if there’s this insurance coverage? $89 is not a lot of money but the thing made me feel so awful! I’ll never rent car from them and hope you can learn the lesson from my experience! Be careful when you rent a car from them!
Their customer service was outstanding they even sent the car and had me picked up tell State Farm could not pay any more for it. and Varsity Ford Lincoln Mercury gave me a complimentary car after that but hurts was outstanding I would rate them a 10 out of a 10 thank you Hertz

I used that Hertz location few times already for Business and it was overall very good experience. The only improvement I would suggest is to have more transparency when it comes to car selection. I would like to know more details about cars engine, horsepower, etc.Overall, I would recommend the place for sure.
So incompetent we left without a car that was reserved for a 9am pick up. Wasnt ready until 10:30 and even then had issues. Destiny claimed to have filled the tank personally but it had less than an 1/8 of a tank so obviously lied. Refused to adjust the tank data to 1/8 and claimed to have taken a photo which was lie #2. Wanted us to feel sorry for her because she was the only one working instead of trying to be accommodating.
We initially we’re looking for a luxury vehicle for two to take on a romantic road trip down to NC and was promised and PAID FOR a Kia Sorento but when we arrived to pick it up they claimed they didn’t have any and LIED and gave us a mini van which is nothing near the price point or style of vehicle we paid for and is most definitely not romantic or a great car for long distance with gas. Not to mention the seats were dirty! And the sliding electronic sliding doors don’t work. VERY disappointed and will never rent from Hertz again.
Had a reservation at Enterprise in Novi, but they had no cars available at my scheduled rental time. Enterprise Northville and Farmington Hills had the same situation. Absurd. I called Hertz and they had at least a dozen vehicles available. I rented a Buick Envision and it was fabulous: clean, Sirius/XM included, and service was fast and friendly. I might make this my new go-to car rental location even though Enterprise has a location closer to me. Well done, Hertz.
The staff is very rude, unprofessional, bad customer service. not the girl though but the manager. They cheated me and charge me an extra more day. I dropped the car off on Sunday, and they were too lazy to close the contract, so end up being charger 1 extra day. I will never rent from hertz again. worse experience in my life
Would not recommend. Total scam. I had contract that states 12.99 day. Overall they took over 350 dollars from me saying I was overdue when i talked with at least one of all 3 people that work there everyday I had car to extend my contract. Nope overdue so overall these scam artist ripped me off 350.00 dollars. While Im going through a tough time in purchasing a new car. Plus they didnt accept my AAA DISCOUNT when they promote it TOTAL SCAM and wont ever go back and will make sure everyone I talk to knows about this place. The prices are just for show and to get you in the door.
Worst experience EVER. PAID FOR A RENTAL Tuesday, and they gave it to someone else! I was late for my trip because I had to drive to a different location, even though I had PAID FOR THIS CAR TO BE HERE WHEN I ARRIVED. Regardless of ‘reservation’ time (off by just a little over an hour mind you), if I PAID for this car THE ENTIRE DAY if should be sitting in their PARKING LOT - waiting for me because I PAID FOR IT - THE ENTIRE DAY. Instead, they double dip in their customers pockets as soon as they get the chance!! Rip off. NEVER AGAIN.
The customer service at this location was less than stellar from start to finish. The representative was not answering the phone when I arrived which was before their closing time. She tried to up charge me on my vehicle rental. I wouldnt recommend this rental location.
Reserved a car in Waterford originally and got a call saying they didnt have the car. But, that Novi did have the vehicle we wanted to rent. We confirmed that there would be no problem at the Novi location and that they received are reservation transfer. Got to Novi, they didnt have the reservation. Not very helpful with that and had to wait for a vehicle to be cleaned.
Sarah at the Novi location was great! I wanted to take my boy on a Father - Son trip for his 13th birthday. I thought it would be fun to rent a convertible Mustang. She said they dont get many requests for convertibles at this location. She said she would try to find one at another location. After a few hours she called me back to say she did some maneuvering and was able to get the car to the proper location on the day we needed it. I though she did a great job of going above and beyond! I will definitely use this location again and highly recommend them.
Hertz Gold Member, and every single time I rent from this place there is a problem. Slow, unhelpful, complete lack of customer service. This is the closest location to my house and I will NEVER rent from this location again - I suggest you save yourself an unnecessary headache and do the same!
Rented a 12-person van for 1-day to transport people for an event. When I arrived the morning of the event, the two bottom-of-the-barrel employees working (who could barely communicate) stated they called me the day before and left a message stating they would have no vehicle for me. I checked and have no record of a voicemail being left. AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL!
The worst customer service ever!!! DO NOT RENT HERE. The guy who has an accent is terribly unprofessional and rude. How are they still open and in business treating customers so terribly?! You’ll do your self a disservice renting or patronizing this location. Not sure how the other locations are but this one is by far the worst business in Novi!!!
Terrible rental experience, rented here several times, car is always dirty, tire pressure was always low, had to stop to inflate mid-journey, called for customer service and put on hold for over 20 mins, charged late fee without explanation, snow scraper not provided in winter, etc. etc.

2022-02-26I had an 11 am pick up time . I show up and no one was there the doors were locked . I had to wait 15 to 20 minutes for someone to show up . The car wasnt full I went back in to say something and I was told the car had 3/4 of a tank of gas I said no it barely had over a 1/2 tank I was I was told the amount of gas in the tank moves around not sure how that happens. I go to leave and clean the windshield and there is zero washer fluid so I had to go back in ..... absolutely a terrible experience.... stay away

2022-03-15Im very disappointed with my rental. It was end of day when picking up the car. I dont notice until I had stopped to get something from the back seat. I notice a can under the drivers seat. I pick it up and its an OPEN BEER CAN! Thatd be an open inbox ticket, and Id go straight to jail. Then, when calling it into report it, the first rep hangs up on me, the second rep tells me to email corporate. Thanks for the help guys!

2022-06-02We reserved a cargo van (e.g. Ford Transit) to move furniture from Michigan to Wisconsin. Anticipated gas mileage was ~19 mpg. When we went to pick up the van, we were given a box truck instead as they had no cargo vans. The agent claimed we would see the same gas mileage. We actually saw about 11 mpg vs 19 mpg. With the price of gas, this increase the cost of the rental significantly. When we returned the box truck, we informed the staff our disappointment. The manager actually told us that they never have cargo vans available for rental. If this is the case, why make this an option for rental? Sounds like a bait and switch to me. Very disappointed.

2022-06-20Location is not clean. Vehicles are not consistently clean or sanitized (I.e odorous, seats and carpet stained. Dust films, or steering wheel and other frequently touched items not wiped clean). Vehicles often have malfunctioning equipment ( I.e seat adjustments, horns not working) The staff is not accommodating when concerns are given to them. They say that older vehicles are too difficult to clean.Today given a car with 1/4 tank of gas.

2019-10-14Worst experience. Rented a car over the weekend. The car was not washed, cleaned, had coffee stains in cup holder, oil marks on the seats. When asked about the condition, got an amazing reply from the store rep The car has 23k on it. The car is old. This is best we can do. Cant really argue much after such customer service.

2021-08-03Arrived at 4:15 to pickup my car(scheduled for 4pm). Lights off doors locked(sign on door reads open till 6, same on web). Called customer service was told at 4:35 that the guy was at lunch and would be back at 5. At 5:20 customer service told me that there was nothing he could do for me and hung up on me. At 5:38 a much nicer and professional customer service representative told me the closet location for pickup was the airport. Hertz, this wasnt your first time screwing me up but it will be your last.

2021-11-01Business said it closes at 6pm online, at the website and on the door at the business location too. Upon arrival at 5.40pm found no one at the location. Tried to call the business location number provided but no response and calling hertz customer service was pointless. Never renting from Hertz again!!
