Comment: I used Hertz through my dealership for a repair. The customer service was one of the worst I’ve experienced at a car rental place. Upon entry three agents were in the lobby area, one in the phone with a customer the other two talking to each other briefly. Regardless no one greeted me or even acknowledge me after making eye contact with me multiple times. They literally walked passed me until I had to ask if someone would help me. Had I not said anything would I never have received service? Additionally my rental wasn’t comparable to my car being serviced but they gave me the cheapest vehicle they had on the lot. When I tried to leave one of the agents the refused to help me that was just talking to a coworker literally blocked me in and ignored me when I tried to get his attention I had to find a different agent to move the vehicle out of the way for me to exit. This again was an absolute mess.

Comment: Did not enjoy my experience with Hertz rental short summary dirty car, untrained staff, and understaffed location. I tried the rent to buy program they gave me a car with dirty interior, mysterious liquid exploded on the ceiling, and pitted tires. When I reserved there was never any follow up. When I tried to call to ask if my reservation was still on nobody could help and I was told they would call back around a few hours later. Noone ever called. Several days later someone calls me to ask if I will pick up the car, so I head over and low and behold no one knows how to use the system. At first I felt bad because maybe the person helping me was new. Nope, they had been there 9 months. So I get the car notice the pitted tires take a picture of that and start driving. Later I look up to see the disgusting ceiling. The car itself I didnt like doesnt accelerate much and you can small smoke if you go up too steep a hill ( I dont recommend the Honda H-RV). So suffice to say I didnt want it. I returned the car which took over an hour in line as the place is horribly understaffed. I told the woman the car she gave me was dirty and pointed out the tires. She frowned and handed me my bill. Today was a very expensive lesson to never ever go to hertz car rental or do a rent to buy program.🙁

My experience with this location was one of the worst as a President member of hertz gold member rewards. Car are unkept tires are worn out the car are even out of date. 2020-2022 vehicles should not be rented out in 2024. Someone needs to reach out (management) to corporate to receive new vehicles. Associates needs to be trained on dealing with the public in a respectful matter.

I want to cancel the whole thing, I have a appointment at noon. Most times they dont pick up phone, manager is not there, no hybrid cars, mostly electric. Ill avoid the whole process. The customers complain about charges. Its not worth it.

Comment: This is a warning for Uber drivers looking to rent a vehicle here: STEER CLEAR. There is absolutely no phone number to call for any assistance of any kind with your rental. The excuse: Their office is under construction and have no power in their current location on the lot. They do not check emails over the weekend and have not responded to other emails at all in some cases or maybe the next day if you’re lucky. Their maintenance portal does not work that is required by a certain mileage but without any assistance provided over the phone or email besides “keep checking your email for the new login” that doesn’t actually work, has made this experience very inconvenient. This rental location is inconsiderate of driver’s time.

They then topped it off by picking up the tab for my Lyft ride back to the dealership where my car was being worked on. Christian initially gave me the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE I’ve ever had at any any car rental establishment. He went above and beyond including follow up phone calls. I promised to continue renting from this Hertz location because of him.A week ago, I got into a wreck with my rental. Mauricio made the experience of obtaining a new rental seamless and in such a timely manner; I was in and out within 35 mins max. Honorable mentions also go out to Elijah! Even with 100 degrees plus weather, Elijah manages to treat every customer with professionalism and a kind smile.I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I’ll continue to rent from Hertz Riverside location for their AMAZING STAFF!

Comment: I had a great experience renting a car from Hertz in Costa Mesa, but this location is terrible, especially for Uber drivers. They make you walk to another building to check in because they said there is a long wait, and when we arrived at the check-in building, nobody was there. When you return to the regular building, the one employee who only deals with Uber car rentals had an awful attitude and bad business customer service, impolite (spanish male - forgot to ask for his name). Then he said he cant accept the bank i had. I am just curious why they dont list the cards they accept. I came from so far to recieve no service. My fellow Uber drivers please choose different location!!

There was coins on the carpet signs it was never vacuumed also the dashboard had chocolate stains the back seats had drinks or liquid on them. Comment: I will not be renting from here again unless absolutely necessary.I placed a reservation for a cargo van a month and a half ago, showed up a week ago to grab it and they told me they didn’t have one for me. They offered to give me a box truck instead but I made it very clear that’s not what I wanted. Waited around and the manager called to see if a cargo van had finished up at an auto shop. They told him it was finished and he went to grab it. The lady that helped at pick up and the manager were nice through the whole process.. that’s the only good thing about this renting experience. Once I received the cargo van it was very dirty inside and outside. They did make it clear that this was going to be a part of the situation of it coming straight from the repair shop. However; I still reserved an adequately cleaned cargo van. That is not what I got. The biggest problem of all was that after I drove off I realized the back right tire had a PSI of 18. I’m not even sure how the tire didn’t pop. I had to take it to an auto shop to get it properly filled up. They were astonished I was able to drive on it as well. This seems very negligent that Hertz would let me leave without properly checking all of the tires pressure with a gauge on site.I had spoken to a lady when I brought it back about this situation really just looking for a proper apology and that she would ensure that this doesn’t happen again to anyone else. Instead, I received attitude and was told that it wasn’t their fault. I had applied my AARP online for a discount when I made the reservation but it was sprinkled in that I had received a “50+ discount” (which must be how the discount looks in person on their screens) that I wasn’t supposed to receive to somehow make me feel better about this tire pressure issue. I told her that I’m clearly not 50+ and that that’s not an issue on my side but I definitely got that discount after using my AARP card.Please look into who is in charge of making sure rentals are on site for reservations and seek out better training for customer service with all employees.I will not be renting from here again unless absolutely necessary.

Comment: I am very disappointed with Hertz Rent A Car at 7777 Indiana Ave in Riverside, CA. I rented a 2020 Chevrolet Spark for initially 3 days, Friday to Monday. I go there at 7:37 am on Friday, May 21, 2021. I let the representative, Raquel, know I may need the car longer, depending on how fast my truck can be repaired at the shop. She tells me I just need to call to extend the rental. I extend it to Wednesday, May 26, 2021 after calling on Monday, May 24, 2021. Subsequently, I extend it to May 29, 2021 because my truck wont be ready till then. Raquel tells me over the phone the hours are 9 am to 12 pm on Saturdays, so 9 am will be the earliest I can turn the car in.I go to Hertz on Saturday, May 29, 2021, to turn the car in. The wait time to be helped was almost an hour. The man representative (he did not tell me his name, nor did he ask me for mine) that helps me then tells me I will be charged an extra day because I brought the car in after the 7:37 am drop off time (the rental time starts at whatever time you pick up the car). He tells me I needed to bring the car in by that time to not be charged an extra day. I tell him Raquel told me over the phone the hours on Saturdays are 9 am to 12 pm, and the earliest I can bring it in is 9 am. He tells me he was there at 7 am that Saturday and I should have brought in the car then. Again, I tell him I was told the hours on Saturdays are 9 am to 12 pm. If I had known I could bring in the car as early as 7 am, I would have done so. Rather than argue with the man representative that was helping me, I shake my head and pay the extra $51.00 (40.00 a day plus $11.00 daily insurance).I was so disappointed in Hertz Rent A Car at 7777 Indiana Ave in Riverside, CA. It seemed like all they wanted to do was make as much money as they can. I even brought the car back with a full tank (8/8 of a tank, and it was rented to me with 7/8 of a tank)! DO NOT GO TO HERTZ RENT A CAR UNLESS YOU LIKE BEING CHARGED MORE THAN YOU WERE TOLD!

They charged me $60 for the full coverage insurance and all I had to do was go pick up the car. Drove 20 miles to do so, waited outside for almost an hour only to not be able to rent the car. Customer service was terrible. They wouldnt even give me the phone number to get my $60 refunded back to me. They just said it was a third party. Literally went right next door to Enterprise with no previous reservation and was able to rent a car in less than 25 minutes. Dont waste your time with Hertz.

He was very attentive, respectful, had a great sense of humor, took the time to assess our needs and asked questions to recommend the right car for us, took pictures of the entire vehicle and emailed them to us. We also got an upgrade because the car that we requested was not the right fit for us. All this to say he went above and beyond to make our experience the best. Comment: Rented a 300 Chrysler on June 13th from this Hertz. We left at 3 a.m. on the way to a 12 + hour drive. On the freeway we started to experience problems with the front end and called into roadside service for help. Well, because it was 3 a.m. no other Hertz was open in order swap out a car. We were told to keep driving and then call back after 8:00 a.m. and maybe by the time we get to the next city that has a Hertz location that possibly we could then swap out. Well, that did not happen, no Hertz had a car that they could give to us, so then we had to continue driving praying that we would make it. Then we called back and were told to go to a few different locations to pick up a car, first location did not have the vehicle that we were told they did have, the next place same thing, so on and so for 16 hours we received no new car. Oh, it continues for the next 4 and one half days. We were told to take the car into Firestone to have them fix it and they would pay for it. Not taking into consideration that were had plans and this was not our car. We were also told that they would come and pick the car and they would then end our contract. This would leave us Stuck with nothing. Roadside service is horrible has no consideration for the safety of their customers. In order for us to have the car exchanged we had to get approval from a General Manager who was at a Fathers Day function with his son and had to take the call from one of his employees in order to sign off on having a car towed from a city 3 hours away. this also ruined my Husbands Father Day. I could go on but this would turn into a book. So,. .. I will update you as to what Hertz does now that we are returning the vehicle. Note: I have one star because I had to under to write this review, however my true rating would be minus 1 star so basically no rating available.Good morning, this is an update to our post... Hertz did remove all fees from our account. I just hope that someone will look into their roadside service.

He quoted me $104 total (my original rental was $72 plus $32 for another day and the CDW) to which I agreed and then came back and said after all of the fees it would be $119. I decided against extending my rental and Ron informed me that it was fine and I would not be charged, however, shortly after I received an email notification from Chase Bank letting me know that a transaction from Hertz (for the same amount) was charged to my account. I immediately called and Hertz and asked why. The gentleman informed me that he did not submit but it may just be a hold. I actually dont care if it is $40 or 40 cents, no hold should have been placed on my account. After I inquired further I was told that their was nothing they could do and I would have to wait for 5-7 days for it to release... meanwhile I turned the car back in already and did not keep it for another day. The gas registered at the same level when I drove it off the lot and returned she stated she was aware I did not use the AMOUNT OF GAS I WAS PRE-CHARGED THE DAY BEFORE.SHE SAID IT WAS HERTZ POLICY TO CHARGE FOR THE GAS BEFORE THE CAR LEAVES THE LOT AS A COURTESY TO THE CUSTOMER. I needed to rent a vehicle through my insurance and it started out rocky as I originally was going to go to Enterprise. After contacting my insurance and this location they literally saved me. I worked with Stephanie and she made the entire rental process simple and I felt I was in good hands. I appreciate people who enjoy the work they do as it really shines through in the level of service they provide. They even provided me with a ride to the auto body shop my car was at. Comment: If I could give a negative 5 stars I would!! I went through AAA website to rent a car through Hertz, located at 7777 Indiana. I showed up 30 mins early and was immediately told by lady at the counter I was too early and car wasnt ready. Her tone wasnt helpful but I was ok. I asked her about the car, thinking I might need to upgrade to something larger. She told nothing else was available. Her tone again was short so I just walked away and waited until 11am. They didnt call me so I went back to the desk at 11:03 to check on the car. She then told me they didnt have ANY cars!!!! I asked her what happen to my reservation? She said that the reservation doesnt guarantee the car, the only way to guarantee is to have paid online. What?!?!?! I told her that information was not online, but again I went through AAA website. Then I asked why she didnt tell me this when I first got there 30 mins ago!! She then pointed at another customer who had been waiting longer than me. I told her that wasnt my concern, and she didnt answer my question!! I walked out, never again!

Comment: Mostly a pleasant experience, and we got a great car in good condition for the weekend at a much lower price than we anticipated. However, we were told the wrong return policy - that we could return the car in 3 hours after the time we picked it up without any extra charge. When we returned the car ~2hrs after pickup time, we were nearly charged late fees that were more costly than the rental itself. Once we explained the miscommunication, the late fees were removed, so overall it was a pleasant rental agency with good customer service.

My husband and I were desperate for 2 vehicles with a certain number of seats and he was so helpful and accommodating in getting us what we needed last minute and at a great price. Comment: I rented what appears to be a new Hyundai accent. When I drove it off the lot, I didnt bother checking the tires because my assumption was new car new tires. At least that is what you should expect. Noticed when I hit freeway speeds the car starts to shake alot. I get to my destination, I inspect the tires and come to find out that the front passages tire is completely bold. Literately no thread on the outer edge of the tire. I called the local hertz number, and the phone just rings no one picks up. I call the 800 number and Im on hold for 1 hour, then my call gets disconnected by their phone system. I called the 800 number again this time I selected road side emergency in hopes that I colud speak with somebody sooner, Sure enough two minutes later a live person picks up. I explained to her the situation her solution was for them to charge me 79 dollars to mount a new tire. So now I tell her, just to clarify your company rented me a vehicle with a bold tire that not only puts my life in danger, my passengers life in danger, and every body else around the vehicle life in danger, but on top of that you are going to charge me 79 dollars to mount a new tire on a car that dose not belong to me? She replied yes.I asked her to transfer me to the hertz in Riverside and instead she transfered me to the hertz in Ontario. On top off that, I asked the rep is this the hertz in Riverside? The rep replies on this is Ontario and hangs up. Will never do business with hertz again. Next time, Imax calling thrifty or enterprise.

Comment: Had a recall on my car. When I picked up mu car, everything was okay. When I took it in to get the contract renewed a month later, the guy working was very rude and condescending. When I returned it, went okay. I forgot my garage door opener when I returned it Saturday. Called Monday earlier in the day and he said the manager wasnt there and to call later on the day and I gave him the info and my number in case they found it. An hour before they closed I called back and I was on hold for 40 min. Called back and told him that I was on hold for 40 min and he said after this customer, he would get to me and 20 min later, nothing and they were closed. Called the next morning and he was confused and didnt understanding anything I was saying but finally said he found it and when I went to pick it up, the same rude guy went into the back for 5 min coming with 3 door openers that wasnt mine and got annoyed. Went outside for another 5 and nothing. When he came back, he said, if you knew the name of the person, I could help you in a condescending tone. Even though the person never said there name and I explained how it looked. He went in the back for another 5 min and finally got the right one. I know this is long and doesnt seem that bad but the service was horrible and I shouldnt of had to go though all this hassle just to get my stupid garage door opener.

They tack on 30 bucks to the toll road fees through some third party, they are completely helpless over the phone, the car got a flat and they provide no spare, then they want to charge me extra for normal wear and tear on the car! Heres hoping they actually charge Honda for the rental fee but somehow I think theyll try to stick me with it. Spend your money elsewhere, this company is horrible

I have used transportation so many times for the Indiana location. This particular day I couldnt get a ride home I had my 2 kids with me. The girl that was in charge was so very rude. I couldnt believe as many times Ive rented there and a month consecutive I couldnt get a ride due to me being 2 miles out of range I was in tears because I had no one to pick me up as well as my children. I will never rent there again the worker there was so rude no compassion for the situation.

Comment: Our insurance gave us the choice of Enterprise or Hertz having had a bad experience with Enterprise we chose Hertz. I havent even left the parking lot and I already regret that decision. Its good to say Ill be with you in a minute etc we got a death stare look away then the first words said to us is the smallest we have. We came in with a 7 passenger suv keeps repeating the smallest I have so I say whats the biggest you have. So rude. She couldnt have been more rude if she tried. Our insurance reserved us a car for 20 days I hope this isnt how its going to be the whole time
