2021-10-01Ive frequented this park for 38 years, back into my youth. There have been significant changes over the years but it has never ceased to be a very serene place to visit. While I played on the wooden and metal playsets as a child, my son now enjoys the modern versions (though we do wish there were swings). The boardwalk along the river is an amazing addition, as I can remember back to before when one could not even see the river through the trees and brush.

2021-09-20Nice, smallish park with lots of shade. Theres a small playground area for the kiddos, and quite a few benches and picnic tables. The park is right next to the river, and the Riverwalk ends at the end of the park. The Soule Memorial Fountain is also at the other end of the park. Historical fact: The park is the oldest within the city (according to the city page).

2018-09-25Enjoy this stop on walks near downtown. Has a nice play area for children. Usually not very busy and quiet. There is a number of seating options with benches and picknic tables. There is also a boardwalk along the river here. They also have a water fountain at the one of the park and pet waste bags to keep the park clean.

2018-09-23Nice park. Right along the Kalamazoo River mill race right downtown, with one end of Plainwells river walking starting in Hicks Park. It has climbing playground equipment for children, and a cutie of picnic tables. The city keeps its kept up, and has lovely flowers and other greenery. My family and I like taking walks through that park.. and so does our dog, Louie.
