Holiday Inn Detroit Northwest - Livonia, an IHG Hotel in Livonia

Everything about this property screams that we are going out of business. Theres a complete lack of reinvestment on the part of leadership. Every touch point of the guest experience is subpar and met with indifference. The team that is left to address guests are overwhelmed, under trained, and clearly hostile after what I can only assume to be leadership leaving them to the sharks.
When we check in there was only one person working it took about an hour to check everyone in. Then when we got our roo. It was not clean there was stains on the sheets, curbside on the floor, no toliet paper. The tolliet didnt work, the phone didnt work. So we had to go back down stairs and stand the line again. The bar was closed. Would not recommend staying here.
The rooms overall appearance was nice and clean. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom could use updating on the plumbing. The water dripped all the time on the metal plate at the bottom and there wasn’t very good water pressure for those that like that. The ac unit although kept the room cool was very loud every time it came on. I am not sure if there is a peak season for the area but there was never more than 30 cars in the parking lot our entire stay. So if you don’t like over crowded places this was great.
The facility is clean and comfortable, a great place to unwind after a busy day. It is quiet, has ample parking and is conveniently located to restaurants, shopping and the locations I needed to access during my stay. Staff was helpful. I enjoyed my stay very much and would recommend it to other travelers. I will certainly stay there again.
This is one of the nicest holiday ends that I have stayed in. Probably one of the nicest holiday ends in the metro Detroit area. It is very clean and the manager, Randy was exceptional. As a rule I do not stay at franchisee owned hotels. This appears to be a company owned location and it is very well Ron.
The staff was very friendly, and the hotel overall was very clean. Overall though, I have no real complaints with the stay. When I arrived, there was several pieces of hair in the shower, but not enough that I complained, I just washed it all away. Breakfast was really just a nutri-grain bar or danish, so I wish there had been a few more options. I am sure I will stay here again in the future.
The staff was rude and not helpful. I was told the day prior that the hot tub was working as this was really the main reason why we wanted to stay.. We get to the hotel and the hot tub was out for maintenance. We asked the front desk and the lady said yeah it’s been down for week.. I told her my issue with calling the day prior and her response was well, call corporate if your not happy.. Then for their “breakfast” it was all out as they serve them in bags, there was no coffee and all the bags were gone.. I asked the front desk if they can bring out more bags and more coffee and she looked at me and sucked in her teeth and was like do you need them now? I looked at her and said really? Yeah, there is 7 of us, 2 adults and 5 kids and there are 5 other people behind us so yes now would be great.. She said well give me a minute and walks away..
We had a family wedding that brought a lot of people to town. I had four rooms and I think together, we had roughly 15 rooms. Hotel was very nice and clean. The patio was a perfect spot for us all to hang out when we werent at the wedding. We had dinner and drinks out there multiple nights. Monique was incredible to work with. I had to come in late on our first night, so she worked so well with me to get everyones names on the other 3 reservations that I made so they could check in without me. I know big groups of people can be overwhelming (or maybe even annoying), but she was so nice. I was so happy to be able to meet her in person while I was there too. Thank you, Monique, for making my trip even better!
No restaurant in hotel as had been expected. Shower did not drain. Called the front desk, no maintenance person on property. Bag breakfast was not edible and is NOT breakfast. Unlabeled ingredient muffin and a nutrigrain bar, orange drink (not orange juice) and sugar cereal with no spoon and no milk in my bag. Room should be highly discounted but was not. I wont stay at a Holiday Inn again. Big mistake
Employees are super helpful. Room are comfy, clean and quiet. Only complaints are: no hand sanitizer at elevators and breakfast in a bag... water, stale prepackaged donut and a nutrigrain bar. Dont count on IHG best price guarantee. Was still over charged for room and still havent received bonus points or refund 2 weeks later.
The rooms were nice and clean. However, I paid extra for a King suite with an additional living area and sofa bed. When I got there, I was told they dont have those rooms. Even though I booked directly on their website. Then they did not correct the price. So I was charged $40 extra for a basic room. Then, in the evening my 2 year old was sleeping. I went across the hall to say good night to our family staying right next to us. Went back to my room and the key wouldnt work. Went to the front desk, the lady there was very rude. She kept telling us we were not in room 414, we were in room 518. But we absolutely were in 414. She argued with us, was very rude, and did not have an urgency given there was a child in the room alone. It took over 15 minutes to get a new key. Very disappointed by the deceiving room pricing and the unkind, insensitive lady at the front desk.
Very clean , quiet and accommodating. Although the pool is a great way to entertain, those looking for a get away may want to use the jacuzzi as well. Unfortunately the jacuzzi has been broken for months even after the pool reopened due to Covid. Fixing this small problem would’ve definitely made my stay more enjoyable.
Cons:The breakfast was horrible. They had a brown paper bag in their refrigerated snack area that you could take containing two muffins, a granola bar, and a water. No coffee/beverages other than what you can make in your room. The Holiday Inn I was at last week still served a warm breakfast. Pros:The room was nice and was clean. Staff was very friendly. The gym was decent and I was able to make an appointment to use it in the morning.
The hotel is in a good location with easy access to the highway. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was not clean - we found a random take out container of sauce on the floor and the bathroom was not very clean. For a new hotel the bathroom is not well designed. The sink faucet is set too far back from the sink so water splashes all over, the toilet paper holder is in an awkward location and the shower drain was clogged - yuck.
Stay was pleasant despite Covid restrictions. Breakfast was a bag with items for pick up, no hot breakfast. Wish we were notified upon check in. Hotel was clean. Beds are small. The reservation stated they were queen size beds, I beg to differ. They were like double/full size beds.
It was a nice room. Very clean but the bathroom shower was a little dirty. The shower also didnt drain properly so it overflowed onto the bathroom floor. It was pretty bad but it was right before it was time for us to check out and there was no one at the front desk so we just left an hour early.
This is a newer Holiday Inn, and the staff is well trained and very accommodating to your needs. When I got there I didnt know how to operating the electronic blinds, and the front desk person came to my room and showed me. That is great customer service! She also noticed a light bulb that was out in a lamp and replaced it. The room was very clean, and the coffee was delicious.
Where to begin...we were there for a funeral. Drove 5 hours to find out our room was not ready at 4 when check in was at 3. The man told me to come to the hotel and line up because they were going in line with who was there to check in. We checked in at 6. There were 2 sets of towels for 4 people. At 11:30 we return back to find that our air conditioner was not working. We called the front desk. A girl came up who literally though that farenheight and celcius meant hot and cold. She resolved the issue by saying she thought 76 was cool enough and there wasn’t a problem. She also said she would find some fans and bring them back. She never came back or called.
I have stayed at Holiday Inn hotels for decades and have been an IHG Rewards member since 1999. My stay recently, especially the shower which backed up (as others have noted) and hairs from previous guests on the shower wall, was unacceptable. I spoke to the person at the front desk before leaving regarding my concerns and that I was requesting a full refund of my points to my rewards account and a refund to my credit card. The front desk manager later called and left a voicemail to tell me that everything that I had asked for (points and cash refunded to me) would be done immediately. When it didnt happen, I spoke with her the next day and she said that IHG had to refund everything. After NINE phone calls (and counting), I find out that the HOTEL is responsible for refunding my points to my IHG account as well as refunding my money to my credit card. After over THREE hours on the phone over three different days and after I was promised during one call that everything would be taken care of, I was disconnected today after an hour, with what would have been the NINTH person at IHG that I had spoken with. I was transferred back and forth between guest relations and IHG rewards each time. What a cluster! I WILL NEVER STAY AT AN IHG HOTEL AGAIN!
From beggining to end the stay was amazing. The staff was nice. Now although I came in the middle of the pandemic it was still so much to do in this location. This location is perfect its across from a little plaza, a slew of restaurants (eat in) ,about 10 mins away were more restaurants, Walmart, Target and any and everything you could want is near this Hotel. The hotel is very clean, up to date and gorgeous for it to be a Holiday Inn. I had a double queen room which was a perfect size for a family of 3 or 4. Bathroom was a nice size along with the closet and fridge. Our beds were very comfortable and towels were clean. I would have loved to try the attached restaurant but it was closed so maybe next time. The only eye sore was the open mud lot next to the hotel that I could see out my window, it was farely built about 2 years ago so its probably adding more stores/hotel etc. But overall I will definitely stay here again . This is my new hotel away from home.Con: Water pressure was VERY LOW.I updated this from 4 stars to 5 Stars since Travis was actually the person who greeted me once I arrived and he was so nice and engaged in a little conversation about where I was from and pointed me to the different places surrounding the Hotel. Thanks again Travis
We stayed at this hotel for the weekend for a tournament. It was very clean and quiet. The pool was open but limited capacity and had to make an appointment to use. Hot tub wasnt running which was disappointing but we didnt have much free time anyway. The staff were very friendly also.
We arrived at 8pm and received a room that was filthy and not turned. Had to wait for over two hours for a new room after traveling all day. Got up to the new room at 1030 or so and the door was ajar. Asked for a discount and the front desk was rude. The hotel had trash in the hallway, the elevator was a greasy mess and there was no coffee. Literally no caffeinated coffee to be had in room. Front deskhad a duct taped Jak-o-lantern. Seriously.
New hotel that is so poorly maintained it’s embarrassing. Staff is borderline rude and doesn’t even acknowledge guests. None of the staff were masks including the managers or follow any covid protocols. There is no restaurant in the hotel. You are given a disguising continental bag breakfast at the front desk. I am a spiral elite and received nothing. In fact they gave me a room on the second floor looking at the roof. Would never stay here again.
Didn’t have the best experience.Negatives: I was told to call back 4 times just to see if I could get an hour earlier check in. Called a few days before- was told to call morning of. Called morning of- told to call back at 1230. Called at 1230- was told to call at 130. Called at 130 and was told they can’t guarantee anything but to come up and wait in the lobby and they could see if something was available. The AC in my room wasn’t working half the time. It was set to 68 but wouldn’t get below 74. TP holder falling off wall.Positives: Room/hotel was clean
Poor breakfast at the Livonia location. It was not worth the money. It was a bag with a nutra-grain bar, a TINY muffin and a tiny carton of orange juice. Front staff stated several restaurants in the area. I stayed at other Holiday Inns that same week, the Farmington Hills location, and they had a great breakfast.
I am a IHG member so I stay at a lot of HI hotels. This has been an especially nice stay. First the front desk staff were professional and yet very friendly and helpful. The building itself was clean and inviting. The breakfast was delivered in a brown bag (thanks Covid-19) but enough to get me going in the morning. I loved the Christmas tree in the lobby. The room was very comfortable and big enough to allow me to serve the homecooked meal I brought to my daughter, her gf, and my sister. Thanks for making my stay much more pleasant than I imagined it would be.
Mother and adult daughter traveling, We did not receive the room I reserved, double with queen beds. I received a phone call prior to arrival stating all they have is a king room, due to a lack of workers. The shower was not clean. Grab and go breakfast is a joke, restaurant restrictions have been lifted. This is an example of a company taking advantage of the situation since this is a cost reduction for them, however no cost reduction is applied to the reservation. We only received two coffee pods for our three night stay. The hallway and elevator smelled of weed on a couple of occasions.
We brought my two boys to get away and swim before our am fishing trip. The web showed heated pool, hot tub, bar and restaurant which was all untrue. The bed was comfortable but after stepping on the floor and bringing bacon pieces from someone’s pizza on the bed, was gross. Then of coarse, you start looking. There was bacon pieces all over and 5 pieces of hair in the tub. Then, pool was closed for chemicals to be put in at 4:15 pm. I looked for a restaurant. Then asked and was told that it closed a year ago. We were told 1 hour until pool open, then they told us 6 after my boys changed for the second time. They let us in, not sure if it was quite safe with the chemicals but I had mentioned getting my money back due to the whole thing being a disappointment. She unlocked the pool door. There was no breakfast like it said was included in the price. When we can went down to ask what time breakfast was after we realize our phone didn’t work, we changed yet again to find out that you get a bag breakfast but there’s only two per room when we had a room for four. We made the best of it, but I tried not to let my kids know how dissatisfied that I was. They pointed out how dirty the pool was. We travel often and always use holiday inn’s but I guarantee where I would not going back to this one. I wish I could say differently!!!
My stay at the Holiday Inn was very enjoyable. The room and bath was very clean. The customer service was friendly. Check in and check out was a snap. Parking was very accommodating and security was sufficient (We had use our key to enter after hours). The hotel was located very close to dining facilities, gas stations, a grocery store and pharmacy.
We chose this hotel after having a bad experience at another and it was amazing. The room was spotless, bed was clean. The employees are nice and respectful. Our lights went out in our room randomly but when I called the front desk they wasted no time coming up and fixing the issue for us which took all over a minute or less. I loved it and will be back.
The hotel was nice but it could be a little cleaner. More attention to detail. The pool time thing is dumb 45 minutes per day is a waste. Especially when nobody else is trying to use the pool. The staff could be a little more friendly, they act like you are bothering them and they should be trying to help.
I couldnt figure out why the heat wasnt working in my room it is because the wall thermostat didnt work. The only one that did work was thermostat that was attached to the floor unit. No one informed me of this. I ended up calling down hours later after checkin because my room was freezing. Also my bed linen had a stain on it at checkin. House keeping came in and changed it out immediately. I also had hair on 2 of the bathroom towels. Housekeeping also changed those out immediately too. Other than that. The bed was comfy and the rest of the room was clean. The night before checkout and the morning of checkout I smelled skunk smoke in the elevator and down the hall.
I was very much put off by the 4 levels of isolation between me and the front desk clerk! This is dramatic over-kill.And a paper bag with milk, a muffin, a granola bar, and a bottle of water, was NOT breakfast! If I knew there would not be a hot breakfast I would have stayed elsewhere!!!One if the reasons I stay at Holiday Inn Express is for the good breakfast. This was NOT!I give this Holiday Inn a 3, and I give the State of Michigan a 1! Michigans Covid-19 restrictions are ridiculous, and this hotel just made it worse!
My room was comfortable. While my room appeared clean I did wipe down the table and desk area as I found a few spots. I worry that HI will keep staff numbers low in an effort to save on costs. When this happens - very often the property pays the price by not being as well maintained. When you walk into a place and there is dirt on the floor or in the common areas and it remains for more than 24 hours - it makes the place seem run down and uninviting.
We were there for a volleyball tournament and the overall hotel was really nice but the shower in our room had a very slow drain and to avoid the shower from flooding, we would have to turn the shower off, while still in it and then back on to rinse. Besides that, it was a nice stay.
Helpful and friendly staff. Very helpful and very friendly. Hotel was super clean. Need to make an appointment to use the pool and gym but it was worth it to have them open and available! The breakfast grab bags were a life saver and the perfect touch. Highly recommend!
I have stayed at this particular hotel a few times previously and have always enjoyed my stay. This time I was a little surprised to find that the degree of cleanliness was not what it was in the past and the water pressure in the shower was really bad. I will still stay here in the future but just not as thrilled as before.
My fiance and I have stayed in a few hotels during this pandemic and I can honestly say for the cost that this hotel was amazing! It was extremely clean from the lobby to the room. The staff was amazing as well. The room was very comfortable and I really just want to go back! I definitely advise anyone who is looking for even a local getaway to stay here! I can only imagine what it would be like if everything was up and running.
We stayed here every time we came up to the area but after a few things changed or noticed I’m rethinking if I want to.The deposit went up to a minimum of $100 per room (was more than the cost of the room itself!) and you can smell the gas fumes in the lobby and in the elevators.I’ve never had any issues otherwise. Everything has always been clean, nothing broken in the rooms we have gotten, no loud neighbors during our stays either.
Stayed here 2 separate times for a week each while on business. The facility is nice and new. The housekeeping only visited every other day which was a bit odd. The restaurant was decent for breakfast if not a bit high priced. The bar did close a bit early at 10pm. The dinner menu was pretty good and it had a nice atmosphere. Some rooms on the top floor had roof air conditioners which were very loud through the night. The second stay i had a top floor room but on the other side of the hall and it was nice and quiet.
My stay here was great! The room was beautiful, the building stayed quiet and even though we had one minor problem, the front desk made sure to fix the problem as quickly as possible and made sure to check in afterwards to see if everything was okay! I’d recommend anybody to stay here!!
The staff was nice. Did NOT like how i was not aware that breakfast was NOT free until i already was making a plate, to only find out it is $13! (and it was the same as all the other free breakfast out there). The hotel should post a sign or at least inform people at check-in of the breakfast prices. Other then that, its a nice, clean hotel, nice pool. I also didnt like how this lady down the hall was screaming down the hall for another room to shut their kids up even though it was 10:30am and she was causing more noise then those kids were. Other then that, it was a good stay and was nice having the pool to ourselves.
We enjoyed are stay from the moment we were greeted at the front desk. The kids loved the pool, I loved the outdoor seating. This hotel has a wonderful outdoors area were you can just relax and unwind. Our room was comfortable and had plenty of pillows and towels. The only thing that could have been better would have been space to put your phone and drink next to the bed.
Super nice brand new hotel. Rooms have strong European influence. Meaning they are slightly smaller, and funky decoration. The shower is sweet. Overall, very comfortable room. The restaurant looks amazing, sadly doesn’t deliver. Training is really the issue - steak came out seriously over cooked twice and the waitress was too busy talking to other people to bring my bill. They really should revisit the cocktail menu and use better garnishes - radioactive cherries artificially flavored and colored, not a good choice when the genuine article is marginally more money. A Manhattan with cherry juice isn’t a Manhattan. The good news, the restaurant stood behind the mistakes and made the evening right.
I included breakfast with my room. It was not a good idea. The first day the sausage was burnt, the eggs were cold, there were no potatoes and no spoon in the fruit. The restaurant was not busy at all. I was very disappointed. I did bring this to the attention of the front desk and asked for my room to be put to the price without the breakfast and they were happy to do that. They mentioned that they are not really affiliated with the restaurant. The Hotel itself is amazing. A lot of room for large groups to be without being in the rooms. I did enjoy my stay.
While I lament being unable to take full advantage of the hotels amenities due to the pandemic, I will say that I felt very safe. The hotel was extremely clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The room was very comfortable and I certainly wouldnt hesitate to stay again or recommend others stay here as well.
Booked this through my IHG account and got a nice savings. The location was fantastic for us. We loved how new everything was, although there was already some minor wear and tear in our room which is kinda crazy since the hotel had barely been open 7 months. At any rate, the customer service was on point! The pool and jacuzzi were wonderful. We loved having a fridge in our room. We accidentally left some clothes hanging in the closet and went back two days later to retrieve them with no issue. We would definitely stay here next time were in town! Our only concern is that others may have as much trouble finding the lobby from the driveway as we did. You need to drive all the way around to the very back which is kind of odd. I recommend the hotel needs to put some better signage sending people around without having to try a bunch of doors that are locked first.
Everything about the stay was great except for a few items. Water pressure of shower was very low on all settings and ordering drinks at bar took awhile (though it was new years eve and restaurant/bar was very busy). Did not use pool or workout amenities, but both looked very nice. Had a fun low key new years celebration in lobby with family members.
First two nights were good! Third night was horrible! I got to the hotel that evening and nothing had been done to my room! Your website says there are daily cleanings, but apparently not at this hotel. I had no clean towels, trash cans were overflowing, I had no coffee, tea, or cups! Front desk clerk was extremely rude to me! I was incredibly disappointed and unhappy!!
The room was amazing. The overall experience was terrific. Had a small problem with the drain in the shower. Not a big deal. Other than that I would say perfect. Neat, clean, and welcoming. Spacious rooms and a comfortable bed. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. I would highly recommend the hotel!!
The beds and pillows were comfortable enough, but there is a loud generator on property that runs off and on all night that sounds like a street sweeper cruising the parking lot for hours. Apparently you need to call and request any kind of housekeeping service (including toilet paper replacement and emptying the trash) which is not posted except in the fine print behind the keys. There was a hair of unknown origin on the shower wall, but the bed linens were clean.
The decor and design was modern, and you could tell that either the hotel was new or had been updated recently which was nice. Staff was friendly. The only issue we had was the room cleanliness wasnt quite up to par for other Holiday Inn stays. Nothing terrible, just a few details that seemed to be missed. Our one night stay there was just fine though, overall would recommend this hotel.
So I made reservations for 12/31/2020 back in October. I stay 3 hours from the hotel, I made my reservation through the Booking App. I got to the hotel around 7:15 pm and I was on my way back home by 8:20pm. When I tried to check in I was told by (Don) the front desk clerk; that I would not be able to check in because my reservation was under my middle name instead of my first and last name. I assured (Don) that I had a reservation as well as tried to show him my confirmation email, confirmation number, transaction receipt and was still denied my room. Don also denied me from speaking with a Supervisor or his name (which I had to get from the booking app agent). Don also continued to put other customers in front of me as well as put his finger in my face while I was in the middle of speaking with him multiple times. I decided to leave and jut find a room elsewhere to just turn around and go 3 hours back home because of course on New Years Eve all the rooms were either booked up or overly charged (exactly) why I made my booking months ahead. I felt very mistreated and very low as if there was nothing that could be done. On top of that my Birthday is 1/1 so yeah terrible. I sure hope to hear back from someone about the mistreatment that I received from Don.
I loved this new hotel, well designed and set up. From the greet from the front desk to every member of the staff I encountered was amazing and friendly. The rooms are great, I liked the lay out and comfort bed and rooms. One amenity needed would be a safe in the room for multiple day stays. I plan to stay here whenever I am back near here.
The welcome I got from this hotel was awesome. When we first arrived you can tell that this wasn’t the typical holiday inn, it felt more luxury as well as they made you feel you were welcomed, everytime you left and came back. The rooms was wonderful including the plush beds and standing showers. I was able to use the swim pool or rather the spa that they had there and loved it. Definitely going back.
My father and I booked a room here because it was pet friendly and the pool was supposedly open. Upon arrival found out pool was closed bummer then found out pet fee was $75 one time charge fore whole stay (like that’s a deal or something). I have 2 dogs (one 65lb and one 4lb) pet policy clearly states you cannot have more than 2 pets (limited to dogs and cats). Well the pet fee is not a flat fee for pets it is per pet. The reason I am giving one star is because our pets cost us more to stay at the hotel then us! I find this absolutely ridiculous to be charging people this much for one night! Our room was $128 for my dad my daughter and myself to stay for our pets it was $150!!! They really need to charge a lower pet fee for those who only stay 1 night!! Never will I stay here again or recommend this place to any of my fellow fur baby lovers as a pet friendly hotel. It is not friendly to charge people $150 for one night on top of the room fee!
New building and spacious lobby. The experience of my 3-night stay with regard to communication with front desk during the day as well as room service with cleaning was poor. No response to a request X 2 by phone the first time then in person for room service the first day. Ironically, the day of my departure someone knocked at my door just as I exited the shower and I gathered myself to answer...she was standing with towels and apologized saying she had the wrong room. Lovely place and nice people, but the follow-through and outcomes regarding basics was very poor and for this I would not stay again.
As Senior Citizens..whom travel quite frequently..the two day stay at this Holiday Inn was Excellent. From the time we walked in the door..Mr. Fadi..Front Desk made us feel very welcomed. He asked if we were IHG members and I stated yes. He then carefully pointed out all the perks of being a IHG member. The hotel smelled fresh and clean and is beautifully decorated. Also..as an outdoor couple..we both enjoyed the double patios after breakfast and after exiting the wonderful Jacuzzi. Nothing against pets...but every THING smelled so clean and fresh...which is a huge plus in not only recommending this hotel to others..but we will stay again and again due to NO PETS ALLOWED. Also..a great location to stores and restaurants.
Everything is new so overall perception is quite nice, however.... I had problem with the PTAC in the room so had to move to another room. Guest services disconnected the thermostat control in the second room which allowed me to control heat on the wall unit. Better but still not great. Ease of use, consistency of climate control in the room, and noise of PTAC unit can make make or break a stay but yet hotels never seem to comprehend that and continue to sacrifice guest comfort for cost savings....Restarant/bar is very nice. Food and service were spot on and nicer than almost every Holiday Inn that Ive ever stayed in - which is a LOT. Bar tender was also excellent!Rooms and bathrooms are extremely small, and while they make relatively good use of space, there is really no work area in the room other than a very small oval shaped table. Cute little table but totally worthless if you want to actually get some work done. Im really not sure how to classify the chair that they give you to use at the little table, but it definitely isnt a desk chair and is not at all comfortable to use for more than a very brief time.
Had to wait over 10 minutes just for someone to show up at the front desk. Once she arrived, she explained that she was the only person working at the hotel at the time. Seems thin for a 200 room hotel to only have 1 employee at the hotel at a time when people are arriving and settling into their rooms.
This is a new hotel, less than a year open. It still smells new in the rooms and hallways. Beds are nice and firm because they are not that much used. Bathrooms have more modern fixtures and I really like the walk in shower. I doubt many people use a bath tub for a bath. Otherwise everything else is just the norm, usual Holiday Inn stuff.
We had an excellent sleeping experience with room being dark, quiet and comfortable bed. Hotel was very new and we were surprised to find some fixtures on the bathroom were falling off. Shower was not clean when we arrived. Location is great and reasonably priced for the area.
Good hotel and would definitely stay here again in the future.Upon checking in, Don was a very hospitable and had a great personality. Checking in and out of hotels as often as I do, it must mean something that I remember his name and the fact that he had a good personality. The hotel, the room and everything about this day was fantastic. This will definitely be a go to hotel when Im in the area. The one downside, depending how you look at itt, is that this hotel has the attachment of a Johnnys Italian Steakhouse. What this means is, they do have a good restaurant attached to the hotel. The downside, however, is that you dont have your typical complimentary breakfast that you would normally get at a Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express. What you have is a breakfast, for around $14, that serves even less than I would get for the complimentary breakfast Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express locations. Thats a bit disappointing. $14 for Less options, and youre still serving yourself. Not a great value.Would I stay here again? Absolutely.
Good experience overall. Almost no noise from other rooms and in hallways. Staff friendly and helpful. Cable tv package not that good. Only one of two elevators appeared to be working although this did not present a problem for me. Very close to shopping. Received a very good group rate so price was right. Easy on/off of highway.
I used to stay at a different location every time I came into town. I travel to Michigan a decent amount for work and leisure. I tried the Holiday Inn Express a few months ago in Livonia, Michigan and have now stayed there 4 times. With another trip coming up on Oct. 10th. John at the front desk is amazing, great price, great location and very clean. I would highly recommend this location!
The Manager was cool and very nice..... The room was clean..... Just needed a get away. Really wish this COVID-19 stuff wasnt happening because we really wanted to sit in the water. Truly feel if all the activities cant be enjoyed they should discount the rooms a little.
My family was visiting family in Detroit when massive power outages had me, my three young children and elderly Aunt scrambling for new dwellings. Hot from no air conditioning, we were blindly chose your hotel. Immediately, after booking, thanks to Fadi, we knew we were in good hands. He helped us aquire a slightly earlier check-in, greeted us with a warm, professional demeanor and even went above and beyond locationg additional blankets and a quilt to pad the floor should my toddler roll out of bed. For the remainder of our trip, visiting relatives commented on his friendly greeting and his consistent inquiries to make sure we were comfortable. The rest of the staff was wonderful too. Its rare that I am overwhelmed by such positivity especially when peoples workloads are increased (in this case by the 100% full occupancy), but our experience was exceptional, and I will continue to highly recommend it to others. As a business owner myself, Fadis caring and professional attitude is the type of employee that I would reward and could see handling more responsibility and professional growth. Please do keep your eye on him and reward his effort.
This is a brand new hotel. There’s nothing to complain about. It is clean, modern and well appointed. The staff is personable and approachable. Brandon was pleasant and attentive. I felt valued as a guest and welcomed as a rewards member. I’d gladly come back and recommend this place to others.
The woman up at the front desk was super sweet, kind and patient. It was late at night during our check-in and she was super accommodating and was able to get me a great deal. Room service for breakfast, woman was very sweet as well. Very friendly staff. I was super pleased with my say and would defiantly go back there.
I enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn because it was clean, hardly any other visitors and the staff was great. We stayed during the Covid-19 pandemic so we were not able to use the amenities such as pool, gym or even receive our complimentary breakfast... So I feel the rooms could have been discounted for that weekend stay.
The stay was great just wish I couldve received more assistance from the lady at the front desk however she stated she was new and could not help booking my room because she did not know how to enter the discount... Overall didnt have any issues during my stay besides that. I had to book on the website while in the lobby...
Stayed just one night for a business conference the next day. Hotel appears to be very new with other construction going on nearby. I liked how the entrance to the room was laminate instead of carpet. Sometimes a yucky feeling exiting the bathroom onto carpet. Room was appointed nicely including outlets and plenty of USB chargers built in. No problems with WiFi access. Nice front desk area. Comfortable bed and pillows as usual at Holiday Inns.
Me and my fiancé visited the previous week just to get away and get out the house due to covid-19. The cleanliness and over all services were phenomenal we ended up staying an extra day and came back the following week. The guy at the front desk is super nice and friendly, and we can’t wait for Johnnys to reopen so when can enjoy dinner and cocktails during our stay!
I didn’t actually stay, I booked a room for a business partner. I emailed payment earlier that day so the guest would have no issues checking in. Upon check in, the front desk manager emailed me stating there was no form of payment. Figured that issue out. After check out, my card was charged double, almost a $500 bill, because the front desk manager neglected to give me all information regarding incidentals. I called about a week later and spoke with the General Manager. Kudos to him as I was irate and he kept a calm and pleasant demeanor. A few hours later the front office manager must have gotten word of the mess and made it a point to call me and tell me I threw him under the bus. Excuse me, what? Extremely unprofessional. In regards to the hotel itself, I heard it was a clean and pleasant stay- kudos to the back of the house that seemingly rocks it!!
I can’t say enough good things about this hotel. Very new and clean. Plush bedding. Great smelling toiletries. And most importantly the hotel staff are genuinely kind and accommodating. It was POURING rain this morning, and Nevar generously gave me an umbrella to use for the day. 11/10 would stay at this hotel again.
Really rude staff. Assistant Manager literally ignored me to help a business guest that came in after me. The business guys that were there got excellent service, but the tune changed when they got around to helping me. They acted like they didn’t want to give me my breakfast vouchers. When we came down for breakfast, there was no one to be found. When someone did get around to helping us, they acted like they couldn’t be bothered. I guess this location is only for business and not leisure now. They made me and my kids feel uncomfortable the entire time we were there. It was humiliating.
When we first got to the hotel everything was great, they greeted us, and we got our room. Our room was in great condition and you have everything you need, except a safe, seriously a safe should be standard in any hotel so I dont have to carry around my valuables while Im visiting family. My second night at the hotel was a complete disaster, housekeeping didnt clean my room, even though I left early. I could still see the housekeepers cleaning rooms, so I dont understand why they didnt clean my room. I complain to the front desk, but they said there was no one there to clean the room. They offered me a bag of chips and a faygo for my inconvenience. My only complaint with the room, besides not getting cleaned, is that the faucet is way too close to the edge, check out my photo. Every time I try to wash my hands, water seeps up onto the counter. I will update my review when I leave the hotel to see if they compensate me for not cleaning the room in a real way and not a bag of chips and soda. On top of that please include a bathroom fan that actually works, not some ventilation system! The internet password they gave me didnt work, so Im on T-Mobile. I get great speeds through T-Mobile around 97 mbps download and 60 mbps upload. Unlike other hotels in the area there is no casting to the TV. They dont have sound proofing for their windows.Update - The only thing they gave us was a few extra points for Holiday Inn hotels, they didnt reimburse us like they would at Disney. It was their problem they didnt service our room, but they really didnt care. Even the front desk manager said theres nothing we can do. They threw us some points, but we dont keep up with the points. This hotel has terrible customer service and I will never stay with them again. If you cant fix a problem, reimburse me for it.I saw the comment they left under my review, but that doesnt change the facts that happened.
Very nice decor in this new, modernly decorated Holiday Inn. Great staff!! Friendly and helpful. Disappointed that there was a used and dirty washcloth hanging over the shower curtain rod...thats the reason we paid a few dollars more and went to the competition. Does this only happen to us?!?
The service and quality of my stay was Great. I had hotel staff help me with some issues and they were quite helpful. The restaurant attached to the property was superb. Breakfast were tasty and large quantity. I ate 3 times for dinner and the steaks were outstanding. For convenience and location this hotel was ideal!
The few employees working were killing themselves trying to keep up. The things that were indicated in the advertisements as available to the guests were not correct, I am assuming for lack of employees. I came here to relax from a stressful situation and found myself unable to unwind and relax. I was very disappointed.
Hotel was nice, clean and brand new. However, at the price of my stay, the last thing I want to do is sit at a table in the restaurant within the hotel and wait to order/pay additional for breakfast the next morning. At what point did this become acceptable? Not to mention the amount of time wasted! Just put some scrambled eggs out like most do!
The location worked well for us to get to the airport the next morning. The hotel is brand new and really nice and clean. The room was nice and the layout worked really well for me. The bathroom was big and everything worked well. I definitely recommend staying here if you can. This is a top choice.
This hotel is very clean and new. The pool is too small with only 4 chairs in the pool area. There was no garbage can in the bathroom not a towel rack near the sink. There were no linens on the pull out couch or even for it in the room. The plastic was still on the pull out couch and when I pointed this out I was told that it was kind of late and would I mind if we just left the plastic on?? The maid was rude in the lobby and seemed to know nothing about the hotel. There are many other hotels in this area. Next time I’ll stay elsewhere.
We stayed a few nights at this hotel last weekend and also used the banquet room for a business expo. I have to say that our experience with the staff and the ambience of the rooms were way above expectations!Kind and accommodating. Not only executed our plans but helped with ideas to make entrance and lasting impressions memorable. We will be back to host another expo!I would absolutely recommend this hotel!
I am a long time ISG member..and have stayed at this property multiple times. It is nice that the hotel is relatively new and there is an on site restaurant but I have had issues with the air conditioning in various rooms..seems there is a programming issue with the thermostat..the air shuts off if no movement in the room...like while you are sleeping or watching TV. On my last visit on 7/9 ..Room #627 had very little water pressure in the shower..always nice to wake up in the morn to take a shower and dribble dribble dribble ...I mentioned on check out and wasnt offered anything for my inconvenience and I followed up with an email to hotel General Manager on 7/12 and here we are 7/15 and no response to my email but I did get this nice automated email from them thanking me for my stay and asking me to write a review...so here it is..I dont think I would recommend this hotel to anyone unless I didnt like them .
We had a pleasant stay. The only drawback was the heat in the room did not work properly. The staff moved us to another room when the heat could not be fixed. We had an issue with the heat in that room but it finally worked and it stayed at a comfortable temperature. There were some small pieces of trim detail in both (room) bathrooms that were missing, but that did not affect our stay.
Our entire floor smelled of smoke, when we reported it we were told the 2nd floor does, too. Also multiple times the elevator reeked of smoke.Laundry was being folded in a public area and the emplyee waws eating food while folding it.Food service has been handled at other Holiday Inns in a way to follow guidelines during the pandemic, but no options were available at this hotel
This hotel looks fairly new. Very clean and modern. Hotel staff was very professional and personable. We enjoyed having the restaurant/bar on site. The food was excellent at the steakhouse. Pricing fits the quality of food that was served. Bartender was very nice and provided good service.
Nice clean room and beds comfy food great prices reasonable. However when someone orders room service (to go) please contact room that the order is ready to be picked up. When I was there I waited for almost an hour for my food. Please b clear about the time etc. but overall I had a nice overnight stay!
Newly renovated and worth the two year wait! The lobby is spacious and conducive to meeting and working. Another pleasant surprise-an outstanding hotel restaurant. Johnny s Italian Grill is a elegant and minimalist space that is warm and invites you to linger. The veal was as good as any Family run Italian eatery and the lunch menu is outstanding; Try the stuffed meatloaf. Skip the chain restaurants in the area and enjoy this gem!
Well, earlier i described our disappointment stay. There were no extra blankets. We had to ask for more hangers. It was just one thing after another. Our final night stay was a disappointment. We had been out all day a d came back to find the bed not made becausr we had left two pj tops on the bed and all the towels on the floor. When there rules like that, there shud b notification. Just ridiculous!!! We were well known.Any other stay at H.I. has complimentary breakfast.
After calling the Livonia hotel for a room with a jacuzzi tub- we were told that there was not one available. She mentioned she could check other locations to find us a room with a jacuzzi tub . She booked a hotel for a king size bed with a jacuzzi Tub that was several cities away and repeated it several times before taking the credit card info. Arriving at the hotel we were told there were no rooms available and although she gave us a $50 discount- we had been working all day and wanted the jacuzzi- hence booking in advance. I called the Livonia location and the representative was less than helpful and said she’d forward it to corporate- that’s of no help and sadly disappointed in how this was handled 😡
This was a new hotel that had recently been built. It was very nice and the staff was friendly. The only downside is the hot tub and the pool are connected to each other. There were kids in the hot tub that would swim over the side and go into the pool. It was a disruption when you are trying to relax
The hotel is ultra modern which has its perks, but almost too modern. It was difficult trying to figure out how to work the lights, shades, etc. The main parts of the room were clean but there was old candy and candles left in the drawers in the kitchen, the rolling table and mirror had what appeared to be hand print smears, and there was only a half roll of tissue in the room, which normally would have a full roll left just in case. We had a late check out but left early because we asked for tissue because it ran out but didnt get it. The one time in my life I forgot toothpaste I called the front desk and they had none that seemed weird to me, and it was a snow storm so we didnt move. I will go back and stay but I will probably wait till they have everything together, we stay at Holiday Inns all the time. The greatest perk is the bed was very comfortable so that made the stay worth it.
I picked this hotel for its location on the map. It was great!!! Far enough from the airport, but not too far. Close to route 275, but not noisy. Close enough to attractions and restaurants. Brandon at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. He always had a smile. The bartender was pleasant and efficient. We didn’t like the breakfast buffet. Panera was next door. We will definitely stay here the next time we are in the area.
We stayed overnight because my husband’s work invited us for a company sponsored safety banquet. We were very impressed with the layout and decor. The room was beautifully appointed and looked like it came out of an interior design magazine. The bed was extremely comfortable and all the appliances/fixtures worked perfectly. We used the pool, jacuzzi and weight room during our stay-all very clean and appropriate in size. We needed some more towels, shampoo and lotion because we used a lot and the front desk happily gave us whatever we wanted and needed without charge. We also had breakfast which was included with our reservation. At check-in, we were given a free drink voucher. The 2 other people in our party who did not attend the banquet had dinner in the restaurant-which they said was delicious. Then menu included a good variety of meals. I want to give a shout out to: Richard, Casey and Octavia at the Laurel Park Drive location in Livonia, Michigan. They went above and beyond to accommodate us. They said it’s their goal to give us the best hotel experience and customer service. They certainly achieved that. They are professional and courteous. I hope they all get a raise because they truly deserve it. I really mean that. I wish I could’ve mentioned the night managers as well, but I can’t remember their names. Highly recommend this hotel!
Very well presented conditions during this difficult time.Special call out to Brandon at front desk, great service.I extended my stay over the internet and the property handled it all remotely by text allowing me to keep my upgraded room.Appreciate the extra work to make the property ready for even the small amount of guests.
Didnt give me the adjoining rooms I asked for even though I secured my stay with a credit card days before. My room did not get cleaned 2 days in a row. I had to ask for clean towels. They wouldnt give me the senior discount for both rooms I reserved even though I was paying for both rooms and had my grandchildren with me. The restaurant on site was the only place to eat and it was very expensive when youre feeding 4 people.
I came into town for a 2 day visit and told the front desk when I checked in (12:30 am) that I may not stay the second night. I asked when they needed to know and he told me by 6pm that night. When I found out I made sure that I notified them and they told me I could not cancel that late in the day. So I would have had to pay whether I had stayed or not. The restaurant on property is usually the only way for guests to eat, drink, etc. The hours the weekend I stayed were limited. Would have been nice to be more flexible.
The Staff went over and above for you to make you feel very comfortable and had everything you needed. The Manager of the Restaurant was so personable and made you feel very welcome. The Bartender was amazing - the Happy Hour was excellent - price point was great as well as the food.
We stayed there for 3 nights recently. Everyone was very friendly and helpful at all times. If we had to select one outstanding employee, it would be Carl in the restaurant. He smiled and was so calm, even when very busy. He invited us back next year, and we know he will still be there. The rooms were clean, and well cared for. The housekeeping staff and receptionist, welcome desk were also wonderful people.
Superior hotel, staff is so friendly and helpful, Monique is a gem, love the decor very welcoming and relaxing. Extremely clean and just a fresh hotel, need to come here during the winter and sit at the beautiful fireplace in the lobby. Plenty of space for parking, great location.
First off soon after we checked in we went to the restaurant there. Restaurant food was not good. We ordered the sirloin steaks $15/ea. Steaks low grade, no seasoning, not cooked properly. Would not recommend the restaurant. We were in our room and the heater made loud noise every 20-40 seconds. I called front desk and they sent maintenance. Maintenance said it was the furnace coils when they get hot they do that and they would give me another room but they said most rooms have the same issue. So if the heat was turned down it was quite but room got cold and if I turned up heat furnace was loud. Furnace kept me away didnt get but a couple hours sleep here only when the furnace was turned down but got too cold so had to turn it back up. Indoor pool way too cold. It is November and guest want to swim in a indoor pool that isnt so cold. Shower in the morning took forever to get hot. Only thing I liked about hotel was the hot tub. Hotel parking lot was pretty empty when we got there at 5pm and was pretty empty when we left at 6:30am. I would recommend you check around for a different hotel in the area.
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. We came in for the UND vs UM game. Even though it poured the whole time we were there and back in 20 minutes each way. Made it super convenient. Staff was very friendly and accommodations were good also. Would stay here again for sure!
The hotel left a bit to be desired. It appeared as though it may have had a bit of remodeling going maybe? My TV didnt pick up stations wells and my phone was broken.... However the room was clean, the staff was incredibly friendly and responsive and over all, I had a good experience
As outlined before, the room lights did not work when I got there. The front of the sink fell off.The heat just blew cool air.The bathroom door doesn’t latch. And it creeps open while you’re in the shower.Employee at check out should require signature on charge.Receipt should be offered automatically.
Very nice hotel with the exception of only having 4 (four) chairs at the pool. Not very comfortable when another family uses all four chairs all day and we sit on towels on the floor for hours.Nice Hotel with the exception of the pool facilities, which is the main reason we got the room for our 7 year old granddaughter.Hope they fix the chair problem

2022-06-20Very nice decor and friendly service. Bed is comfortable with nice linens and pillows. The food at the restaurant was pretty good. And the shower is really nice too. The downsides were breakfast is only from 630 to 930 am. The ice machines are only on every other floor. And there are no vending machines. And no complimentary continental breakfast.

2022-06-19Decided to stay in town for my brothers funeral instead of having to travel back and forth. My room was on the 5th floor, as we all know heat rises right? The A/C worked intermittently and would cut out during the night making it very uncomfortable, I wasnt there much the 1st night and following day however it should work, bottom line. The room had a very weird smell, couldnt tell if it was musty or what but it wasnt very pleasant. My son said the pool looked like someone took a deuce in it and smeared it on the walls, I didnt investigate that one. The bathroom light was tricky to figure out, I had to have the switch outside the bathroom on in order for the switch inside the bathroom to work. There were staff members that would hang out and smoke right by the entrance doors on the backside of the building right underneath a sign saying the premises were smoke free and they werent very hospitable, not even a hello as you approached. They could definitely use Gordon Ramsey to come in and update their menu in their restaurant, the coffee was bitter and gross and the menu didnt offer much, I got up and decided to go to Big Boy for a good breakfast and coffee. I appreciated the fact that they offered bereavement rates but I still paid over $300 for 2 nights. The beds were comfortable too but that didnt make up for the A/C issues. I would have picked one of the other hotels in the vicinity had I known this hotel wasnt up to par, I guess the empty parking lot should have spoke for itself.

2022-04-06This was one of the cleanest hotels Ive stayed in. The room was spacious and had a nice bed. Chair was comfy to sit in and had a decent table for the 2 of us to eat our dinner. Nice restaurant attached to the hotel. The pool was a little on the chilly side, but we did enjoy the sauna. We went to Bobs Big Boy for breakfast. That was delicious. The staff at hotel was very helpful with our needs and very polite. Nice size parking lot. Wish there were more handicap spots closer to the front entrance. Definitely a must stay at hotel if youre in Livonia, Michigan. Thank you for a great stay.

2022-04-21Day 1 for SUE: Came in armed with experience and knowledge. Answering phones/questions professionally comparable to some of the veteran employees. When (rarely) uncertain/unsure respectfully deferred to her co-worker(s) and asked further questions to make her a more dynamic and stronger team member moving forward.Day 2 for SUE: I inquired about some room charges in which she very quickly addressed, explained and resolved. High quality customer service and positive demeanors seem to becontagious with this Holiday Inn crew from the bottom up! THANK YOU

2022-02-25Nice facilities, but they have been completely unhelpful in correcting the fact that I was double charged for my stay. I paid through priceline, but when they took my card for incidentals they ended up billing me for the stay again. I spoke with the front desk twice and they promised to correct it. After weeks with no resolution I had no choice but to dispute the charge with my CC.

2022-01-18Positive: Nothing at all I had a simple request and the front desk manager kept me on hold for 2 hours. Most unprofessional place I have ever stayed worse service then a 2 star motel. The staff acts like they dont want guests there I was super uncomfortable Negative: I didnt like anything about this hotel the staff literally made me cry for their own selfish reasons they felt the need to put me down to make their days better I tried to speak to someone for 2 hours but I was deliberately ignored. Worst experience

2022-05-02I was blessed during my stay. The staff was helpful, supportive and asked to assist me daily. Example: Instead of just giving directions to find the gym, a staff member/restaurant manager SHOWED me the gym location!

2022-05-02Positive: I had a horrible experience. It appears that I inadvertently booked for the day I needed a room and did not get to stay at the hotel. It was a less than pleasant experience. Negative: I hated that I paid for a hotel that I did not get to use.

2022-03-08We reserved a King Suite and was given a regular room. We called three times before arrival to verify the Suite room and was told that our room selection was all set. When we arrived we weee given a regular room and told that there was not a King Suite available. We were promised a compensation night, which did not happen and we were told that the owner would be sure to contact us with a compensation, which did not happen. There was no food service at all available and the staff was very inept and uneducated on customer satisfaction. We will never stay here again for our company employees or for personal needs.
