Typical Holiday Inn so youd think 4 stars...well the staff lets their friends and family stay during the weekend with a special rate...so the pool is always full of kids and all the breakfast is gone because the towns people come stay for the weekend. Stay at your own risk, lots of foot traffic in and out all night and loss of the use of amenities.
Nice hotel up to HI quality standards. Clean. Friendly and helpful staff and manager. Nice lobby and breakfast area. Had a suite and it was spacious for family gathering with full-size table, 4 comfortable rolling desk chairs, kitchenette with full-size refrigerator, and living room area with full-size sofa. Had issue with room booking - hotel had wrong room on record. Manager Christine made best efforts possible to address the problem, going above and beyond to make things work. I recommend making reservation directly with hotel (I booked on HI website) or at minimum call hotel ahead to confirm right room is on record to help prevent any mix-ups. Definitely will stay at hotel again and recommend to others.
This was a great place to choose as a hotel for a short weekend with long days! I was in town for Adrian College homecoming so I didnt actually spend too much time at the hotel besides for sleeping and taking a break from homecoming activities. There was hot and continental breakfast in the morning which was great! I love having that at a hotel, always makes things easier. They had a decent variety for the breakfast too.The beds were cozy in my room, the pillows were crazy soft and nice but if you want more support definitely bring your own pillow or ask if they have firm pillows. I did not use the pool but it looked like it provides a nice, quick cool off in water. The room itself was nice and simple, clean. There was a mini keurig in the room and they actually have the shampoo and conditioner hanging in the shower already which was cool. A/C worked great for the hot days I was there, and wasnt too loud either!
Positive: The breakfast was the best part of this hotel. Hot and fresh items, wide variety, nice breakfast area. Negative: The pool was very cold and had algae growth. The water was murky. Common areas upstairs were dirty. The bathroom and microwave counter were dirty. Mold in a few spots in the bathroom; hair, dirt. Phone, USBs broken. Sink backed up. Toilet hard to flush.
We stayed at this HI Express, we are Gold Members since the early 1980s and always use HI Express! However, this location, when we checked into the room, there was a Beer Bottle and Paper Products on the floor. Room was not quite up to HI standards by any means. The Breakfast was very poor, cold and rolls were dried out, hard and burned on the bottom. When checking out, I waited roughly an hour for a baggage cart to be returned to the lobby. Finally I asked about one but the person I asked was the front desk person who was busy putting up Christmas Decoration while using one of those baggage carts and would not share. I have pictures if interested.
We needed a place to stay while we were having work done at our house. My husband is handicapped and on oxygen. The Holiday day Inn in Adrian was an excellent choice for us and when we needed to extend our stay there was no problem and best of all we didn’t have to change rooms for the 1 day extension. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Thank you for everything and Thank you to all the staff.
Dirty...smelly...breakfast tastes like chlorine and funk. Did not feel comfortable with touching anything in my room. Jacuzzi was very dirty and spitting out scum and crud. We didnt even use it. Bathroom was so disgusting I didnt even shower before leaving. We will NEVER stay at this hotel again! Go anywhere else...youve been warned
Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is hot and tasty, though coffee this trip was way too strong. Staff helped with various requests we had, much appreciated. Remodeled room VERY functional. Bed/linen/pillows very soft and comfortable. Room had slight must/damp feel and smell. Also, plenty of TV channels. However, when flipping, no visible display of channel, channel name or TV show currently airing. That was inconvenient.
We stayed at this hotel for one night it was terrible, the rooms are clean and have decent amenities. The major complaint my partner and I have for this place was the noise. You can hear everything from neighboring rooms, especially the room above you. It honestly sounded like people were stomping and jumping on their beds until 3am. We assumed the hotel had quiet hours, so when we asked the front desk to deal with it they said they would, but the noise was constant even after two complaints. We are aware that people out there are also just rude and don’t care about being quiet or the well-being of others, so maybe that had more to do with it. Long story short, bring ear plugs and also a white noise maker.
Upon arrival I was treated with respect and given useful information to maximize my experience with the staff and hotel policy. This is not always the case at other facilities ie your competitors. In addition the receptionist made a conscious effort once I settled in my room to ensure everything was acceptable and let me know to let her know if I needed anything else. I would definitely recommend this particular hotel to friends.
We arrived right at 3 pm and were able to check-in immediately. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and had clearly just been sanitized. This property is doing everything right to keep guests safe and comfortable during these crazy times. The bed was comfortable and the in-shower bath products were a welcome treat. All-in-all a perfect stay!!
I honestly cant say anything wrong about this hotel. Although they were not perfect, if I am in the area again, I would happily use this hotel. My kids also enjoyed their stay, breakfast was incomplete due to a broken pancake maker, but Im sure that was a single event that would be easily fixed.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff are great and they all work very hard to keep this hotel on top top shape. It’s clean and sanitary and I love how they still serve a hot breakfast. That makes a big difference. My stay has been extended and the women there were great about giving the best rate possible. Thank you so much
We enjoyed our stay however there were maintenance issues with the room. We had quite a difficult time getting our room keys to work. The electronic device worked sometimes and other times did not. We had a light in our room that would shut off and come back on randomly. The bathroom door handle needed repaired but still worked. Something fell off the wall in the hallway during the night. The downstairs ice machine was not in working order. The conditioner bottle was empty in the shower. HOWEVER, the staff was VERY helpful and took the time to bring me items needed and showed me how to use the door key. I will stay again because I feel my concerns were quickly and kindly addressed by the wonderful staff. We chose to stay at this particular hotel because they had use of the pool. We had to make a reservation to use the pool but were the only ones able to use it which really made it enjoyable!
The hotel is conveniently located by the major roads. The staff was friendly. The hotel has decent amenities. BUT, the rooms are pretty small and you can hear your neighbors very easily. If you have neighbors above you, good luck, the hotel has terrible sound proofing so bring head phones or ear plugs for sleeping.
Manager and staff were friendly and accommodating. Manager recommended a great place to get pizza. She did not disappoint, the place had amazing pizza! Bathroom shower walls were not cleaned or wiped down before we checked in and the trash can outside was overloaded and needed dumped. Other than that, it was great. The bed was so comfortable and I loved the pillows. One more thing, I wish we could have had a channel guide for the tv but we were told they had to remove them from the rooms because of Covid.I will stay there, again!
I was 100% completely satisfied with my stay. All staff members were very attentive to my needs but more importantly they were amazing with my kids! My kids and I absolutely love Rachel who was working the front desk the evening of our stay. She treats every guest very with kindness.
Rented a room for my daughter it was an unfortunate emergency situation, upon calling to book the room I had explained my daughter had a dog was told they normally charge $50 for the dog but since it was a situation they would waive the $50 fee the room would be $129. I gave my information over the phone my daughters information and I thought it was all done. Then I called to get a copy of the receipt upon opening my email I seen I was charged for the dog immediately I called find out why three more calls later I still have not gotten any further no management has returned my call and I can pretty much say goodbye to the $50. What irritates me the most is when you tell somebody you will not charge them and then you do along with not returning the call thats pretty sad when a person Pastor leave a review to grab the attention of persons.
We tried and tried to use the pool and were unsuccessful due to birthday parties being held and outside people coming in and using it. Front desk definitely seen it happen I did not have to let them know. I was not the only guest that was upset about this. Also we would love to have had biscuits and gravy at your breakfast bar other than that your breakfast bar was great especially the cinnamon rolls
The only fault I could find (and only when asked here) would be that the clientele seemed to be young partyers , making a lot of noise at night and leaving garbage outside their rooms. I am not sure that the staff could do much about the clientele, although picking up the garbage in the halls and elevator quicker might have been better. I left a tip for the housekeeping staff because I felt bad for what I could see were inconsiderate clients in other rooms.
As I stated before, the bathroom was disgusting. pub hairs left on spout and around drain. A fresh stain on the shower curtain... The following morning, the fire alarm went off at around 7 am. we woke up our 3, 4, and 10 month old. The fire alarm shut off, which we were relieved of. After we calmed the room down, we noticed that our smoke alarm was missing from our room, we notified the front desk and nothing was done during our stay.
Stayed here and had an amazing experience! Rooms were really clean and the staff was really professional. Especially the manager on shift she was absolutely very professional and amazing and attentive to any of my questions or concerns that I had. she was very helpful and knowledgeable on where I could grab a good bite to eat in town . Based on my stay here I would 100% stay here again! Thank you again to the manager and the staff of this hotel!
Tried other hotels in the area , nothing was more comfortable ,clean, or with better staffing in the area. I tried multiple hotels during my stay but I should have just went with holiday inn IHG the first time . I felt like I was actually in a clean bed , clean and updated bathroom . The pool was clean as well. I felt they secured the building good to my satisfaction. I will recommend and rate my stay as 10/10.
We had to be helped into the room because the key card was not working properly. When we came back from dinner, we could not get in. Front desk worker tried cleaning it. Didnt work. Went to get electronic thing to reset code, did not work. Put us in another room while he called general manager. Called to say they needed to call a locksmith in - from Detroit - which was hours away!! Said should be there by 11pm. At 2am I walked to lobby to see what was going on. Couldnt find anyone. At 5am, after stressing and being uncomfortable the entire night - because we had no belongings! - found desk clerk who said it was open. Never called because they didnt want to wake us. WHAT!? I was waiting to get my things to change, to wash up, to brush my teeth. I was in the same clothes I had put on at 5am the day before!!!! Oh. And door was unlocked. He just opened it. With all of our things, including a laptop, IPad, camera . . . there for the taking. No apologies. No offer to help me as I was dragging everything down to the other room. Would never stay at this location ever again.
Had a 2 night stay booked in a suite with my wife. We arrived at the check in time that was listed on our booking and were told the room was not ready yet, we would need to wait another 30 minutes. We returned an hour later to the suite, to find that housekeeping was still not done with the room. We continued to wait in the hallway with all of our luggage until they finished so that we could go inside and set our bags down. The first night staying in the suite, we found that there were constant noises from above and beside our suite, young kids jumping up and down in their room above us, slamming furniture around in the room, causing an extreme disturbance. We were both unable to sleep for the entire evening. The staff was informed of the issues, and said they were getting multiple complaints about the noises, but could not determine what rooms they were coming from. The next day the sounds continued through the entire morning, and afternoon. The staff then came to our room and listened to the noise with us, and continued to go through the floors of the hotel looking for the source of the noise. They were never able to get control of the guests that were causing the disturbance, and myself and my wife were never able to get any sleep. We checked out that day from the hotel 1 day early, the staff didnt even bother to ask why we were leaving early or if there was a problem. They then charged me full price for 2 nights, when I only stayed for 1. So overall I would say this is one of the worse experiences I have had with any hotel, let alone a Holiday Inn.
Very nice hotel. Room was clean and large. Comfortable bed and pillows. Employees very polite and helpful.Breakfast was very good. Happy to have hot food, at other hotels its only grab n go cold food. Employee serving food polite and patient.I will be staying here again. Recommend you stay if your wanting a nice place to stay.
Very disappointed in our stay at Holiday Inn Express in Adrian, MI. I reserved a 2 Queen Bed room and was given 1 King Bed with no option of a roll away bed because those were all taken. Was informed by the front desk that their hotel was overbooked for some reason. While I was given a very small discount, I feel this is no exchange for the inconvenience. We were at the hotel for a baseball tournament, which meant my poor son had to sleep in a chair that was way too small and uncomfortable. He was compromised of good sleep and comfort before his very important games. Im very disappointed by IHG and their staff.
On arrival only one person was working desk(with large event in town) who was also responsible for helping with the many malfunctioning room keys. Manager came to assist and was very friendly, but their was only one working computer to check us in. Once in room theater was very noisy and tub looked very old. Everything else was great, I know they had construction going on and I would give them another chance in the future, just not anytime soon.
We were only there for a night but the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was super cozy. The pool was warm and just big enough for my nephew to enjoy. We didnt have time for breakfast but I grabbed coffee and took a peek. The food look good and there were quite a few people enjoying it.
The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful... from checking in, to requesting a roll away bed, to assisting in breakfast items and additional towels/pillows.very accommodating. the breakfast was limited due to covid restrictions, but they still served a made to order breakfast that was tasty and quick!rooms were clean and comfortable. there was ongoing construction, but it did not interfere with our stay.
The office clerk did not care about us coming in to stay here. He was more interested in looking at The computer then acknowledging our presence when we walked in. We were having issues with the discounted rate from a website and asked him to compass for the same cost, and he proceeded to check us out at the normal rate without asking or explaining why. We were finally able to get the website to work and was given the discounted rate in which it seemed we were wasting his time. Then once we did get the keys to the room, they did not work when we use them, I had to take them back and get them re-programmed in what she told me they were brand new and just were smudged a bit. We certainly did not feel like valued customers. This site is not at the standards of Holiday Inn that we are used to. The room was in disrepair, from stains in the bathtub to stains on the carpet and poor paint done to the walls. Even at the discounted rate, I will never stay here again and do not recommend this place.
I was most impressed by the hospitality provided by the Holiday Inn Express in Adrian. I was staying there on business and the lady at the front desk was very kind in providing me information of restaurants and places to check out around town. The rooms were very clean as always and I plan on staying here again for future business trips.
I have stayed at this property a number of times. The staff is accommodating and provides consistently excellent service. The rooms are clean and spacious. The breakfast buffet provides a number of options and the woman who works there is very nice to talk with. The staff keep the area CLEAN and will call out new items for you to try. This past weekend it was the french toast. Normally i am only there during the week. I have tried other hotels in Adrian but i find this to be the best.
On 3/15/21 I arrived at this location expecting a restful night before work in the morning. But unfortunately, the onsite manager for the night could not apologize enough for Albert lazy housekeeper that rushed out at 3pm that day. Left my room with no toilet tissue , some one shaved in the tub leaving hairs everywhere. This was room #1 then I went to room #2 after the manager on duty was so upset and apologize over and over same thing hair on the floor, tub, sink, around the toilet. I was so tired I refused to move to Room #3 so I cleaned the bathroom on my own. It would be greatly appreciated if all hotels had the same standard and stick to it. This is my first time ever having any issues with this hotel.
I wanted to re-cap on the review I placed a week ago. I love staying at all Holiday Inn Express no matter where I travel. This location by far Kristina Manager turned my stay today into a well rested, no complaint atmosphere. After long 3 hour drive from work I can say she really stepped up and made sure this stay was just like home. Not to mention this area just up the road has Walmart/Meijers many other nice areas to shop. Well just wanted to Thank her publicly.
Stay was fine however they keep charging both mine and my boyfriends cards over and over for nights we didn’t even stay. They keep stealing money from us everytime we get a refund they take it out twice again. So sick of dealing with this place I just want our cards off file and for them to leave us ALONE. We paid for our stay and keep paying for it over and over and over again.
The room had a seal on the door stating it was disinfected. What I found was a TV remote that was crusty and hairs in the sink and bathtub. Im left with opinion that the room may not have been cleaned properly and the efforts to disinfect the room may have been inadequate. Because of my concerns I was not able to use the TV and I had to clean the tub and vanity so I could use them.Other m than these issues I was pleased with the hotel. It is a typical Holiday Inn Express.
We arrived late for funeral purposes. The staff was helpful, caring, and attentive to our needs when we checked in. The beds were extremely comfortable. The entire hotel was very clean, and staff was seen cleaning a lot. At checkout, the same level of service was provided as when we arrived.
We were given rm 104 on first florr that was undergoing obvious remodel. Floors were dirty with construction debris. Our room was left ajar with no sticker to denote sterilization, IHGs pledge, but we were assured that the room was cleaned by the front desk when we brought to their attention. Still, we slept with some trepidation. Coffee in the morning in the breakfast area was luke warm. The attendant was very gracious and served us well. She gets a 10!All hotels need to disclose issues like renovation and service interruptions such as elevators being non-functional a time of booking. This is the second time in two years we have been surprised by IHG properties with such issues. We paid a premium for a bad experience each time.
This is the best hotel in Adrian, in my experience. The staff is super friendly, the food is delicious, and the service is excellent.Theres no hot tub, and the indoor pool is small, shallow, and a bit chilly. Its also closed now due to the pandemic. The place is older than some other spots, though theyre renovating it bit by bit.But these minor things did not detract from the positives for me. I enjoyed my stay, all things considered. HIE will be my first choice if I need a hotel again.
Was nice and clean and enjoyed some family time visiting in the lobby. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. We also enjoyed the workout room but is small. Would have liked the pool area to be a little bigger and hoped for a hot tub but there is not one.
The lady at the front desk was very helpful and friendly and hotel staff was courteous. Room was nice, bed was comfortable, and it was quiet (I dont think anyone was staying in the adjoining rooms). I definitely appreciated having a microwave and refrigerator in the room, as well as electrical outlets built into lamps so I could keep my phone charged. The complimentary hot breakfast bar was very impressive, lots of choices. Cinnamon rolls were outstanding and coffee was good. Wi-fi was easy to access and worked as I needed it. Overall I was very happy with this hotel as it was comfortable, convenient, and accessible, and had all the amenities that I prefer.
I paid for a 150$ a night for our jacuzzi room, every hour or so the two women would come knock on my door and accuse me and my wife of smoking then there was NO smoking. If they thought I was smoking why wouldnt they walk into my room and smell? At one point they were screaming at us (customer) I felt as if I was being harassed. I will never come here again and I dont recommend it. Unbelievably bad customer service. Wish I had taken my business elsewhere.
We arrived and checked in quickly. Rested for a hour or so and went back to rehearsal dinner. Enjoyed having the peace and quiet when we returned for the evening. Beds were very comfortable and so were the pillows. Clean bathroom facilities and enjoyed the breakfast in the morning before checkout. I would recommend this hotel.
I reviewed this for Holiday inn and the website refused to post it.Covid precautions were completely neglected by staff. The staff didnt wear masks and spoke negatively about precautions posted on signage, there was no enforcement of guests following posted protocols. This is the most unsafe Ive felt travelling this past year.It was also unclean, uncomfortable, and I needed to get a new room key everytime I left my room. The staff said I must not be using it right.
Employees did not wear masks. Advertises breakfast but not available on Sunday because cook is off - sign advises you to wait for Lola to assist you - Lola is off on Sunday too. Only two sets of towels per room regardless of number of people per room. Desk is signed clerk stepped away will be right back entire stay - truthful to a certain extent - but it is always there and you always have to wait. Clerk stays on personal cell phone when speaking with you. No confidentiality at all. With remodel had a great opportunity to be a great hotel. Ill stay elsewhere next time. Not a typical Holiday Inn experience.
I know that the hotel is in the process of remodel, but there were some issues that should have been addressed up front. Of all the rooms I have stayed in this year, this one is probably at the bottom of the list. It really is in need of repair and I have never stayed in a room without a place that you could hang your clothes. This room had no closet and the rack it did have was not usable at all. I hung my clothes on a door knob.
The woman who checked us in was very pleasant and helpful. Everything about our stay was nice. The room was comfortable and clean. When we went to breakfast, we chatted some with the man who was fixing breakfast. My friend has a lot of food allergies and there were even things on the menu that she could eat.
I requested adjoining rooms (10 days prior) for my daughters wedding - I was given rooms on opposite sides of the hallway, 2-3 doors away from each other....not a good way to try to spend the night before her wedding with my daughter! They wouldnt even begin to try to accommodate this request! Not my fault someone extended their stay, and I find it hard to believe that a hotel their size only has 1 or 2 adjoining rooms on the property! The TV, phone and outlets did not work in my daughters room so she couldnt even get a wake up call. I will NEVER step foot on this property again - their loss as I often visit family and friends in Adrian!
The room was immaculate, and the bathroom was big! Water pressure was PERFECT! The bed and pillows were so comfortable that I fell asleep and didnt wake up until breakfast time!Breakfast was great. Huge variety, but I really wanted eat a million cinnamon rolls! They are by far the best cinnamon rolls of all time!
This is a nice hotel, although probably too expensive for one night, but I dont think there are many options in this area. Everything was clean and comfortable. The sink didnt drain properly but it wasnt too big of a problem. The breakfast was exceptional with many choices of eggs, sausages, pancakes, oatmeal, cereals, fruit, yogurt, baked goods. Everything was well stocked the entire breakfast hours which was very impressive since the hotel was full with 4 college volleyball teams!
Overall great experience at this hotel. Mattress could use replacing, WiFi was slow, breakfast had a limited selection of great food. Hotel was clean, stylish, and staff were kind and professional. I wish they had a bar on site, but there are several good restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay again and recommend this hotel to others.
We were in town for a college visit/softball camp. The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful and even allowed us to check in a bit early. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great with lots of choices including biscuits and gravy, eggs and egg white omelettes, a variety of meats, cereal, yogurt, fruit, pastries and breads. My husband loved the pancake maker machine! Everything was kept very well stocked even though it was extremely busy throughout the entire morning. Business center worked well and Wi-Fi connection was fast. Conveniently located for our needs. Enjoyed the late check-out time of 12:00 PM. Will stay again, especially since we were told that they have a discounted rate for college parents! The only two flaws were the super slow elevator and the overwhelming smell of chlorine from the pool and cleaning products in the hallways, but at least you know the place is clean. Not a deal breaker for us! :)
This hotel served the basic needs of sleep and restroom... Would have been nice to be made aware of construction going on at the building and limited parking... Was in town visiting family and friends, didnt get back to the room until late. All parking was taken because of storage containers, I had to park in the grass by the highway... Servers breakfast, however I wasnt about to go walk around the stacked up furniture and construction materials for some steam table eggs and microwave bacon... As I said, it served basic needs, over priced for what was going on, hotel nextdoor was $30 cheaper a night but, I prefer this name over the other... It will not happen again, do I recommend it, yes, its still a hotel, and Im sure when construction is done it wont be so bad... Also, no towel bars or toilet paper holders in the restroom, sanitary...
Most impressed by the responsiveness of ALL staff members, from the front desk, breakfast supervisor and the young ladies who serviced the room. Need something extra?... ready to help, to accommodate the guests... not just my group.Breakfast done very nicely, kept clean and varied over the days. Always a smile and a good morning or good evening. Never looking down or away. VIPBest rating that I have given... even over much more expensive hotels. Congratulations for a job done with excellence at your Adrian Hotel.
Overall good location on busy highway. Rooms on the front of the hotel need the blackout drapes because the hotel floodlights shine right in the window. Traffic noise didn’t keep me awake. The hotel seems to be getting some updates, and not a moment too soon. Stayed in two rooms, each had repairs in the walls and worn bathtub floors. This is also the first time I’ve ever seen a shelf built across the space where you hang clothing. Even my button down shorts were too long to hang properly. My dresses had to be turned sideways and hang over the front of the shelf. This made the closest bars virtually useless.
Was overcharged a few hundred bucks after we had 2 rooms for four nights. They couldn’t sort it out at checkout and we had to make it to the airport so I couldn’t wait around. Have called 5-10 times and left messages with management but have gotten nowhere. Was a pleasant stay otherwise...really just hoping this gets someone’s attention so I don’t have to charge back via my credit card. Do the right thing HIE...UPDATE: they still haven’t called or made it right. They owe me $300.
Very clean. Amazing friendly staff. Great breakfast with wonderful variety. Comfortable bed. Overall wonderful stay. Very nicely updated older hotel. Did I mention the super friendly staff! Not many choices in town, thankful this was standard Holiday Inn that I come to expect. Minus the walk in shower it was all I would expect.
I had one of the best stays at a hotel that I probably ever had. Staff at any time or shift were great. Breakfast was good and there were a lot of choices. I couldnt figure out the pancake maker so I stuck with the other option they had.. The Hotel was in the end stages of a remodel but everything looked nice and clean and up to date. The room was very nice. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. All the furniture was in good shape and also up to date/modern. Only issues I had were that the AC unit was a bit noisy but not unbearable and the exercise room was small. It had enough in it to get a good cardio workout in though. Mostly due to the fantastic staff, I would recommend to others as a place to stay.
With everything going on in all of our lives today Holiday Inn Express gave us a sense of normalcy. It was very obvious the professional caring staff followed all safety and health protocol but the HOT BREAKFAST is what really allowed us to reflect back to pre-pandemic life. They made adjustments to their hot breakfast service etc BUT they did not eliminate it!!! Thank you for a great stay!!!
We had a major booking error between the baseball team booking agency and the hotel where we were booked for more nights than the confirmation letters we received from the baseball booking agency. This cost the hotel quite a number of unused nights. The staff were kind, cheerful and accommodating in the face of a major problem. They worked hard to get us into our rooms early. i worked in the lobby for a couple of hours and saw that their interactions were always cheerful and accommodating. I interacted with 3 different people working different shifts and they were all very helpful and pleasant. In addition, the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was pretty good, for a continental breakfast, with more choice than the usual sweets and coffee. All in all a wonderful stay.
The location of the Holiday Inn Express was perfect for the baseball tournament we were there for. The tournament was at Adrian College and Siena Heights University. The Staff was really friendly and the room was large and very clean. Also, the bed was very comfortable. I thought the food for the continental breakfast was tasty and the food server was extremely friendly. I already recommended this hotel to one of my friends whose son will be attending Adrian College in the fall.
Our stay was bad. We arrived at 4:45 and were told that the king bedroom we had confirmed was not cleaned and there was nobody available to clean it. After searching for a good 10 minutes or so, she found my wife and I a 2 queen room. Meanwhile, a gentlemen checking in with the other clerk was being offered his choice of a king on different floors. I was told their king inventory showed negative 1 and you are the negative 1. The property is showing wear and tear and the the lobby smelled heavily of cleaning solution as if something were being covered up. In the morning I went to shower and found gobs of pink hair, 8 inches or so long in several spots in the bath tub. It was clear that this was not a minor oversight, but rather a complete miss on the housekeeping staff. I called the front desk to see if I could get a clean room t shower in, but the call bounced to voicemail. I got dressed and went to check out. I told the front desk clerk that I wanted to speak with a manager. He said that there was no manger present, but he offered to call her. I told her about my problem and she said: Im sorry you had a bad stay. Unfortunately, I responded with a four letter word expressing my frustration at not being able to shower before work. She then said: I will not listen to you curse. I apologize you had a bad stay. Have a nice day. and proceeded to hang up on me. Classic management technique of transferring responsibility. Apparently, you forfeit your right to the clean, sanitary room for which you have paid, if the manager doesnt like your verbiage. I waited a couple of days and emailed the manager with pictures of the hair and expressing regret for my choice of words. No reply. I waited 10 days and contacted customer care at IHG telling them the story and offering a copy of the email as well as the pictures. Two weeks later and no reply. Not only was it an awful stay, but I am shocked by the lack of concern and response by both local and corporate management.
In the area there is not much to choose from but I have always been happy to stay with a Holiday Inn. You consistently know what to expect. Layout is pretty similar, beds are comfortable, elevators are offered in all I have stayed in even if there are not many floors, Continental breakfast has always been offered at every HI I have stayed at with plenty of variety. The perks of being a repeat guest is nice and the additional points they also offer during your stay is a nice bonus.
Stayed for 1 night with significant other on a Friday night for leisure travel stop-over. Comfortable bed, very clean, modern decor, free wi-fi, friendly service, felt safe. The best option in the area. Hotel met my special room request (made at the time of reservation) and were welcoming and friendly. We stayed at the same time as 3 bus loads of college kids and there we no noise issues - they were on upper floors and we were on the first floor next to the lobby. No noise from lobby/dining area but walls were a bit thin with room next to us but noise wasnt a real bother. Slept great. Excellent hot breakfast. All great features that are expected with HI Express.
Arrived to hotel and had to wait for front desk to go upstairs and clean our room due to staffing issues. Was promised extra points and did not receive any. Hotel was expensive for just one night stay. Walls are very thin and you can hear everything going on around you during the night. Breakfast wasnt bad and the selections of food was good. Breakfast was probably the best part of the stay.
Our room was very clean, and we were welcomed with a wonderful blast of air conditioning when we entered our room. (We had been traveling, and it was 90* and humid outside). The staff was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. If we had any questions, they had a quick answer and were happy to help.
Excellent customer service so very friendly and thankful for all who went out of their way to accommodate our need to leave prior to normal breakfast service. Kind and encouraging greetings helped make the stay pleasant even as they are remodeling. Great job-shout out to Annabelle and the early morning staff too!
Overall a great experience. I came for a baseball tournament and the hotel and staff was very accommodating , friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend this location. The poolWas a bit small , and the fitness center needed upgrades. It was hard to get a good workout with more then two people because of limited space and equipment. The property itself was well kept and pleasant. The surrounding area had options for food and shopping.
Terrible customer service. Literally made me leave my room even though I had three more days to stay. Be forewarned they overbook the place to cater to sports teams. The teams are noisy and run up and down the halls all night. Manager does nothing cause she likes the $$$ they bring in. If you are a business traveler go elsewhere... like the Carleton Lodge. Much quieter and friendly.
I arrived to the Holiday Inn Express in Adrian, Michigan Tuesday night. I had a very important meeting the following day. Upon check in, the young attendant was very nice and professional. She acknowledged my Gold Elite status and offered me points or bottle water. I was given my room and keys and proceeded to my room. Upon entering the room, I immediately noticed that it appeared if both beds had been slept in. The beds were not made up. I pulled the comforter back and noticed that the linen had not been changed. The mattress pad was soaked with blood, resulting IMR the sheets being saturated with blood. We notified front desk and she immediately took actions to correct it. She apologized numerous times and thanked us for helping her to make up the beds.
Hard to judge the hotel completely because renovation was going on. So the regular common room/dining room was draped in plastic, workers were pounding, etc.But the staff was very good, and I appreciated the heart healthy breakfast options. Not sure if a healthy margarine was offered, but that always helps. Also, Im still waiting for one of these breakfast buffets to offer scrambled egg whites or Eggbeaters! The remodeled room we had was very nice, and the hotel was blessedly quiet at night.
I reserved 2 queen beds and nothing was said until we got to room and saw we were given 1 bed and a sofa. I immediately called the front desk and was told there were no other rooms to switch us to. I then asked for fresh sheets for the couch. The clerk said she would send some up. Never received them. The clerk called over an hour later and said she forgot. My daughter was already asleep. The TV in the bedroom did not work and was not hooked up. The cable would not stay connected. We were exhausted from traveling due to a death emergency.
It was a good stay! Here 2 nights for our nieces wedding. Very nice accommodations. Quite comfortable bed, pillows, couch. Sports teams staying in hotel but they quieted down around 9:45 so sleep did not allude us. Only complaint was running out of key breakfast items on Sunday. Otherwise it would have been perfect.
I room was booked for me by my company with two queen beds. When I checked in, I was not recognized as an IHG member until I asked. The Welcome Bonus Points were not offered until I asked. My credit card was run and I asked if I could have a room upgrade without a charge since I am a Platinum elite member and they are normally free if available. The person checking me in was struggling and I told the person to not worry about it if I was going to be charged more. I was able to get the upgrade to a King bed.Well later after I got my electronic bill, I found out that I was charged extra for the room and was not told that I was paying extra and I did not get my Welcome Bonus Points.I really dont enjoy quizzing people how to do their job when they know more about it than I do. But I guess in the future, I will have to ask people if they charged me extra when I told them not to.
Stayed 1 night here during a work trip to the area, and Im glad it was only one night. Room cleanliness was an issue. Found a piece of broken glass on the floor of my room - could have easily cut my foot on it, but thankfully I didnt, so I just picked it up and threw it away. Then I found BED BUGS! Thankfully they had another room on a different floor I could move to that was much better, but now when I get home I will be doing some extensive laundry of all the clothes and luggage I had with me. The employee was apologetic about the issue, but never offered a refund. They said Id be getting some extra reward points, which ended up being 300 points (worth ~$1), which is a very petty amount.
The staff made our stay very comfortable; the excellent customer service will have us back to visit. The hotel was clean and well kept, The room was spacious and nicely decorated. The amenities were great.and all in good working order, The hotel overall was Fabulous and located perfect for us visiting family in a nearby city. The breakfast was really good and was ample to start the day, The late night pancakes was a nice touch; a perfect evening snack.Thank You Anton and to the Entire Staff for an Amazing Stay.
Stayed on 3rd floor during the final days of the floor remodel. Newly remodeled rooms are very nice, was nice to have a love seat with ottoman in the room to sit on to watch TV, and relax as an option. Would definitely recommend this hotel whether traveling for business or pleasure. Did not use the pool, but other guest seem to enjoy it. Morning continental breakfast / coffee was a plus .My only negative would be, the guests who didnt take into consideration of the other guest late evening and early morning who might be sleeping, when they were letting there doors slam shut many times, and talking very loud to each other down the hall.
I normally do not stay at a Holiday Inn as I am a member of another hotel groups program. This location offered few other hotel choices. What a surprise! This Holiday Inn Express was fantastic. It was beautifully furnished, very clean, and well maintained. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was actually pretty good too! I will definitely stay here again.
I have previously stayed at Holiday Inn Express and had a great experience. This location smells of smoke heavily in the rooms and hallways of the 2nd floor. The smell also lingers into the hallways on the other floors. Staff response was to spray the room with deodorizer and leave a can for us as a guest. The smell seems to be in the carpet and walls. Not an issue of one guest coming and smoking in the room.Breakfast and food staff were good!
Horrible experience during a bereavement stay. As a SPIRE ELITE member I would have expected that the staff would have gone well out of their way (especially as we were in no condition to deal with their ineptness and mistakes) to rectify the matter of having given us the WRONG room which could not accommodate all of us who would be dealing with the death of a beloved family member. Staff made us feel as though we were causing them undue stress by asking for two additional roll-away beds as they gave us the wrong room to begin with. On top of that, during check-out the staff member acted as though he had no idea that we were to get our 40,000 Reward Night points returned to us for their completely unacceptable mistake during one of the most difficult times of our lives. We finally had to leave for the funeral; asking them to please at least put the points back to make up for this horrid stay. Still no points . . .
We were in town for a concert so didnt spend much time at the hotel, but appreciated the warm welcome we got from the attendant at the front desk. She was pleasant and engaged us in conversation...why we were in town, what we would be doing, did we need anything. The room was large and updated, clean and the bathroom was very nice. It was exactly what we wanted for a quick getaway. It was our second time staying here and we will continue to choose this hotel when we are in town.
My parents come from Canada quartily and they are in their late eighties. With this hotel so close to our home, it is a special treat to share ajjoining rooms, go to the open areas to play cards or share updates. Then the next morning we enjoy a great breakfast without any of the work. This is our Christmas gift to them and boy do they love it. My Dad has always supported local business because if you dont, they wont be there when you need them.. This hotel is a nice addition to our community. Thanks to you from one happy family....
My son and daughter accompanied me on a road trip to visit nearby relatives and we were very surprised at the level of service we received at the Adrian Holiday Inn Express. The staff was very friendly and the service was wonderful. I travel quite a bit and it is a most welcome surprise when I feel as welcomed and appreciated as I did at this hotel. The staff was attentive and very helpful to me and my family. They were very friendly from check in through check out and I will definitely recommend this hotel to others. I think the renovation will likely boost the ratings for this hotel but the staff was definitely the highlight and will ensure my return.
This is what i expect from a Holiday Inn Express, no surprises and I did not get any. The hotel and my room was clean well maintained and very comfortable. WiFi is a must and the signal was strong and steady. The staff was quick to respond with extra towels and blankets for the grandkids sleepover on Thanksgiving. I will be staying here again when in town. The only con is they had the same breakfast selections two days in a row, while most similar hotels switch up the hot course every day.
The location is ideal seeing as how its close to the college as well as the mall, which happens to be walking distance from the hotel. Was however disappointed to find both the bathroom sink and shower were clogged, the sink worse than the shower. Would definitely recommend a checklist for housekeeping as the fridge in the room was not cleaned, there was food which let out a strong stench as soon I opened the fridge door.Apart from that minor mishap, the stay was decent not complaints.
Had a reservation for a wedding for WEEKS, called to confirm before we headed there to drop our bags and change... they CANCELED our reservation... without bothering to tell us (they claimed they left a voicemail, they didn’t..) Told us they were OVERBOOKED. How do you have a reservation (with a credit card) one minute and then get booted out on your a$$ the next? Hotel next door was full up too. All they could do was just say sorry, sounds like a personal problem. Luckily someone let us sleep on their couch, otherwise we would’ve had to sleep in our car. Thanks holiday inn, you ruined our weekend.
Unfortunately, the stay was not up to my expectations. Upon check-in at 4 PM they were unsure if they had a clean room for us. We have to wait in the lobby with our one-year-old while they searched for a room. Evidently, not an easy process. That was fairly minor compared to the rest. Throughout the stay we are unable to get our room cleaned. After two days we reminded them and they attempted to but said because an iPad was on the bed they were not allowed to. This was three days in without anything being done to our room. We still have four days remaining and you would think that after bringing it to their attention once they would make sure our room was done. Unfortunately, even after reminding them a second time this was not done. In total, they clean our room once during our seven day stay. We would remind The housekeepers and the front desk when we left and they just skipped our room. We know that housekeepers were their because every morning on our end of the second floor they all lineup with their equipment to get ready for their day. We would be leaving the room as they would be arriving and it would not get done. I think this goes without saying but no, we did not have our do not disturb sign on the door. .
The staff was the best. They offered us an upgraded room. They also offered to postpone the 24 hour pool treatment so we could use the pool if we wanted to use it. One morning we were 20 minutes late for breakfast so the staff insisted we choose whatever we wanted and offered to heat it up if needed. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.
Recently stayed at this hotel the night before an obstacle race. The hotel staff is friendly and provides recommendations for food in the area. The room was clean and comfortable. The only thing I wish it had that it doesnt was a hot tub; but the pool was heated. The breakfast options were good and included some healthy hot food choices along with the typical continental breakfast fair. I would happily stay here again.
Location was very clean.. staff was wonderful! Check in was a breeze.. and after about 10 minutes in my room, the front desk clerk called my room making sure everything was good.. and if I needed anything else. Hotel was under renovation during my stay, but it did not effect my stay.. if I wouldnt have seen the workers moving stuff up, I would have not known they were there.. there was very little noise from the floor below me they were working on. My room appeared to be renovated already.. bed was super comfortable.. room was very stylish.. and having the mini fridge and microwave hidden in the TV stand was nice. Breakfast was hot and good.. employee working in the breakfast room was very friendly. Overall I would highly recommend this location.. and I will choose it again if I am on business in Adrian again.
The room and hotel are okay. There arent a lot of options in this area. The first night in the room the sink did not drain well at all. Then the shower head was partially plugged from the poor water quality causing part of the water to run down the wall and eventually out onto the floor of the bathroom leaving a big puddle after 2 showers. We brought both issues to the attention of the front desk staff. The sink did drain better when returned for the second night. No change in the shower. The room was very clean and bed was nice but I think well look for another hotel in other cities close by for our next visit.
The staff was very friendly. The room was very clean and fresh. The choice of pillows was very good. However, the heating unit was very noisy and hard to control the heat. It was very warm in the room. You had to shut the heat off entirely. I had difficulty sleeping; I was very unrested. We had a room at the front, so you could hear traffic from the street. The breakfast was very nice with lots of selections. Excellent breakfast staff.
Recently stayed on a business trip. Hotels was clean and staff were very friendly. The breakfast was great with many choices including awesome cinnamon rolls. Room was clean and spacious. My only complaint is that the HVAC unit would not let me cool the room to my preferences which made it a little difficult to sleep. Also there were some noises through out the night from the ice maker, elevator or something mechanical. Overall a good stay.
Very clean and updated. Very nice check in staff day and night shift. Easy access to room. Clean. Comfortable bed with ample pillows. Bathroom nice and new and clean. Air unit was great for the air conditioning at the end of September was great. Breakfast was not the hotels fault but the chains fault. The simple breakfast options are just always the same. Always. Would like to see the HIE mix it up some. Thanks. Great location to Adrian College as well
When I booked this reservation September 3, 2018 I requested a handicapped room. My husband and I both need rails in the bathroom. I made this rservation through the 800 number. The room given to us was NOT equipped with rails in the bathroom. We were not pleased! We did stay the night in that room but moved the next morning to a first floor room that had rails in the bathroom. The hostess in the food area was wonderful! Gwen waited on us as though we were family! She was extremely helpful and kind!!!
My husband and I reserved a block of rooms at this hotel for our wedding. We had many guests coming in from out of town. Check in was supposed to be at 3 however MULTIPLE of our guests were told their rooms were not ready at this time due to housekeeping not having them clean. Many of our guests barely made it to the wedding as they were sitting around waiting for their rooms. One of our guests was given keys to a room where someone else was booked and was in the room sleeping when my guest opened the door. When asked for the manager my guests were told the manager was not there. In the morning when I spoke with the person at the desk about our issues, they stated “housekeeping is all I can say.” This is no excuse for the PATHETIC service my guests received. Had I known this would occur I would have selected another hotel for our wedding and I WILL NOT be recommending this hotel. I understand that things happen however the response can not be to play the blame game, someone has to step up and handle it.
The front desk is open 24/7 and the lady working it was extremely helpful and kind. The room was clean and the maids were polite. They provide any essential bathroom necessity and have a wide variety of foods at breakfast, including a pancake grill conveyor belt and cinnabon rolls.
We try to always stay at hotels with an indoor pool for our 3 year old. Sad to stay we didn’t even rally use the pool because it was dirty and the chemical smell was so strong. The ground of the floor was dirty and you could feel it with your feet. The water was cloudy and their was wet towels all over. Very disappointing for an IHG hotel. Went to the front desk and no one was there. When we left for the evening no one still at the desk. Beds were comfortable Hotel needs repairs and cleaned up. Sink and tub were cracked When we checked out I took the key to the front desk and no one even said anything to us. They took the keys and looked at me awkwardly. We will not be staying here again for sure.
This property was typical Holiday Inn. Except for the front desk staff at check-in. The woman was rude and disrespectful. When I asked about the Adrian College discount she said none were available, which was fine. However, she then proceeded to tell me You should have booked sooner. And continued to rant on about all the tournaments and camps going on in the area and that there arent any rooms in a 50 mile radius. When I made my reservation directly with the hotel, the staff helping me put down one of the other hotels in the area stating that no-one stays there. I have stayed at that hotel many times and it is a very nice and reasonably priced. They even gave me a discount as a repeat customer without me asking. As for the price we paid for our room I have paid less for a better larger room at other hotels.
This hotel needs to be closed. The hotel was horribly dirty both in the common areas (elevator/halls) and the rooms. Notified the front desk that my toilet wasnt working and that I was unable to deadbolt the door. No repairs were made and staff seemed wholly unconcerned. Often a sign was at the front desk stating the clerk was away and would return shortly. In the COVID-19 environment, this hotel is a SUPER SPREADER - Disgusting!
The facility is clean, staff is friendly, and breakfast was awesome both days. We stay here when we come to Adrian. Great location if you need to access shops and restaurants. My wife and I appreciated the staff that worked the holiday shift. They made our visit enjoyable. Thank you too all.
We travel a lot to different places and expect conveniences to accommodate a busy baseball team and family. We were all very pleased with every aspect of our stay. The only thing that would have service our boys would have been an onsite washer/dryer to have clean clothes but we did find a local laundromat in the area. We were pleased that the tournament was located within a 10 minute radius of the hotel and there were also so many places to each and shop.
Clean rooms no issues from what I saw, very comfortable bed, friendly service at the front desk, a little above average free complimentary breakfast. We did not use the pool or exercise room. Location to Adrian college was ideal.Price was a little high for this type of hotel.
I made it a point to call the day of my reservation to see if we could change our room from a handicap accessible room to a standard room. I was told that our room was upgraded and we were good to go. My husband was apparently the last to check in and was given, not the room that was reserved for him, but the last room that reeked of cigarette smoke. He did not sleep all night. He complained in the morning and was told we would be given extra points on the account to make up for the awful stay. I just checked and we did not receive any additional points for the poor experience. I hate leaving a bad review as this hotel has always met our expectations. but this was bad. And sadly, my husband said the normally good breakfast was not good. very disappointed in the experience and the failure to make good on promise to add extra points to my account.
I got the last available room for the night of my stay; it was a jucuzzi suite so I was charged a higher rate than I had planned to spend, but it was a great room. There was a high school sport team at the hotel so there was a bit of noise, but the room was great, I enjoyed the breakfast, and I appreciated the noon vheckout time. The staff was friendly and I had a good stay.
My daughter attended college the last four years in Adrian so I have stayed in this hotel many, many time. Until the last two weeks, the hotel was always a pleasant experience. The manager Lindsey always went out of her way to get to know you, and make you feel at home and well taken care of. This manager has now been reassigned to manage other hotels while still maintaining manager relationship with the Adrian location, however, since she has been away the hotel cleanliness and customer service has sorely deteriorated. Over the last two weeks, they had a computer glitche that kept rejecting my totally good credit card and once the bank stated they were not even receiving the information, they somehow managed to get the card through....the toilets were backing up....the sinks were clogged, there were what appeared to be blood stains and dark dirt marks on the curtains and the hand towels - these had to be sent back and replaced. Furniture was torn and frayed. There was dirt and dust in the room. and bad smells. A faucet fell off in one of the room my family was staying in for graduation. The rooms (we had three) were not all cleaned every day. The staff was rude about what they were told. They had trouble with what they mistakenly thought was an online cancellation and other credit card processing issues. It was just one thing after another. Housekeeping staff was loitering and talking rather than cleaning. The general manager Jamie and the day manager were rude and not friendly or accommodating once there was an issue raised. The hotel offers a discounted rate to parents of Adrian college students and references were made that people that were there under that rate were not given the best rooms or service. I will never stay at this hotel again. Im sorry Lindsey was not there because she would have addressed the problem and not say that they didnt care if I filed a complaint. This is the second time I have tried to file this complaint. the first time it was rejected - I am assuming it wont be rejected again.
Stayed for one night on leisure. Stayed as hotel previously and had great customer service as usual. Nice room. Decent cable TV channels. Comfortable bed. Slept great. Usual great hot breakfast variety although I did not eat breakfast this time other than a banana to go. Love the express check-out option.
Staff and hotel accommodations were excellent. Our reservations were made well in advance and not affected by the severe weather and power outage affecting many areas within Michigan (for several days). The hotel was booked and had to turn people away but at not time did anything unexpected on their part impact our stay in any negative manner.Tyler was the person who booked my reservation on the phone the week prior and he was the person that checked us in. We interacted with him throughout our stay and he was always professional, personable, hustling and even ran and made an a fresh pot of decaf so we could sit and play cards in the common area. The breakfast had far more options than we are used to and was constantly restocked and looked after (clean)! The lady who managed all of this was very pleasant, attentive and personable as well. I regret that I do not remember her name. This is an extremely well kept and managed hotel. You wont regret staying here!
A couple months back i stayed here, and it was amazing! they offered gluten free breakfast choices and so many more options which really showed us that they care about their costumers, I really want to thank Diamond for all the work she put in on making sure our stay was nothing but the best its refreshing to see someone who actually takes guests serious, nothing but a smile everytime i asked her for something! i will definitely be booking here with future reservations.
I was unable to sleep because of a large security light shining straight into our room and I did inform the staff and he was very nice an apologetic. The next morning when I checked out I let that staff know as well, I’m disappointed I didn’t get some kind of discount or a free stay, turns out there were darker curtains missing that should not have been and thus the brightness keeping me awake, not happy.
Tyler at the front desk when we checked in, was Awesome. It’s nice to be greeted by smiling face after a long drive. And he made sure we had everything we needed when we checked in. Also the day staff was very nice. The only thing I didn’t like about the stay is the price. I travel a lot and I feel price for this location is way overpriced. It’s Adrian Michigan Not Chicago Illinois.
I travel the country for business and normally use another vendor for company hotel stays. My recent leisure trip I booked the Holiday Inn Express for convenience, thinking I would experience a difference with customer service and/or bed quality. I was pleasantly surprised that the customer service was exceptional and quality of the bed exceeded my expectations. I most definitely will book this hotel again when visiting family in the area.
Stay met expectations for Holiday Inn Express experience. Great room for average price and friendly staff. Easy, quick check-in and check-out. Extremely reasonable prices for food and drinks in little store area by front desk - tons better than the standard vending machines in other hotels. Great stay.
I dont know if they were short-staffed or what.....the hotel keeps fresh fruit out for guests to enjoy but there were fruit flies throughout the area. The main floor bathroom was absolutely gross with massive orange stains from not scrubbing the bowl. The pool clearly had something wrong with it as there were strange bubbles all over. Our room bathroom had mildew around the edge and then toilet bowl had a clear film that was evident when flushing. We were just at this probably two weeks before without issue.Just an awful experience.
Overall, good hotel. Breakfast hot and fresh, staff is great at keeping quantity prepared for guests. Good location, easy access to main roads. Only complaint is rooms have thin walls that allow voices to carry and if next to stairwell, doors shutting are noisy. Staff is very accommodating. Rooms are adequate with ample amenities. TV clear, many channel choices.
We arrived in town early around 1pm and the staff were able to check us into a room . The hotel is very clean, the pool was very cold and they said the heater may not be on because it was summer, I have yet to have my 500 welcome points credited to my IHG rewards account, I called and spoke to someone and they said it would be taken care of but still hasnt, I have never had this happen before, also no recognition for being a Platinum member during check in.
Our stay here was great. Staff, facility, breakfast were all terrific. I did drive past their entrance, I think there could be a little better signage however that is the only real issue I can highlight. I will stay there again without hesitation if I am back in the area.
I only saw one employee wearing a mask, I saw 4 others not. My room wasnt ready for me 40 mins after check in time at 3pm. I had to wait about 20 more minutes for them to clean. I doubt that was enough time to do a proper cleaning. There was no toilet paper, or even a spool for me to put it on in my bathroom, I just put it on my sink.
The staff at the hotel were great. The beds are old and uncomfortable. There was a canyon in the middle of the bed and we both rolled downhill each night. The mattress was just uncomfortable. It would have been an acceptable value for half the price but at over $100 a night we felt taken advantage of. The breakfast was fine, plenty of choices and decent quality.
We had already unpacked and prepared to go to bed when we turned down the sheets in one of the beds we noticed they were dirty. We also noticed the room had not been cleaned (dusted or vacuumed) but we were ready to go to bed. The manager on duty offered us a new room but we asked if we could just have clean sheets. He was very pleasant and changed the dirty bed sheets for us.He also went out of his way for us when the vending machine ate our money. I would probably try another hotel if I happened to stay in the area again just because the quality and the price were not that great.
Tyler was great with his recommendations and very helpful. We were disappointed because the pool was not in use due to renovations. We weren’t told that when we reserved the room We inquired about it and were told we’d get a discount, but have yet to receive a refund off the total cost. We will now be calling to correct an issue that should’ve been resolved by the staff.
Weve been to Adrian many times over the years and can always count on this property to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel staff is awesome, very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. They do a good job of keeping the property updated, fresh and clean.
Great service every time. Tyler at the front desk on the afternoon shift. Is very professional, kind, and gets the job done. Which is very nice. After working all day i dont want any hastles or to wait for service. I never encountered this problem there. Coffee is on early in the morning. And rooms are real clean and updated. I have no real issues at all. I stay there a out 3 times per week.
I would like to let you know that the service I received at this location during this stay was incredible. I make IHG brands my primary choice of stay, and am sometimes dissappointed that the Front desk employee does not recognize my loyalty to your chain, meaning no offer to upgrade my room if available, no welcome gift, etc. This has happened to me a number of times in the recent past. Not at this facility, the young lady was very very friendly, thanked me for being a loyal customer, offered to upgrade my room as well as offered me a bottle of water and snacks.Great great employee.
Quiet, comfortable stay. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was better than the one we had at a Holiday Inn that charges for their buffet. Breakfast staff was very attentive and helpful, too. Only negative was that the keys took numerous tries to open the door. We had to have help from the front desk at first and then we realized that we could get in if we kept trying over and over and over. Making new keys didnt help. We survived, but it was a little annoying.
My stay was to accompany my daughter to a campus visit at Adrian College. The facility was very well suited to the trip. Clean room, free breakfast, very close to campus and plenty of places to dine and pickup forgotten items. The staff is just lovely. They were all friendly and pleasant.
This hotel was a dream come true for one night stay while traveling - easy to find, easy to check-in, small enough to avoid walking through an endless lobby and football field length hallways. Breakfast is dependable at the stated time and consistent with menu offerings each day (and at each HI Express). The facility appears new and finely appointed with easy to click internet access as well as cable television. Discounts are offered, as well.
The front desk attendant was very rude upon check in. Our room was located in between young adults who were clearly there to party. They were screaming, running down the hall, and slamming doors until after 2 am. Our room key stopped working several different times throughout our stay and we had to go down to the front desk to have it reprogrammed. The heater in our room would run fine for awhile and then start making a clunking noise all night long. The breakfast choices were better than I expected and the attendant kept everything stocked. Very nice variety there.
This hotel has excellent customer service! Our family needed a block of rooms and Lindsey expertly arranged this for us. She went above and beyond to get rooms cleaned and ready to enable us to check in promptly. All of the front desk and breakfast staff were very courteous and accommodating.
The room was well appointed. Bathroom layout and vanity were excellent with a lot of counter space. Bath towels were large and soft. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Internet access was quick and easy. We would definitely try other Holiday Inn Express locations based on this experience.
The room overall was pretty good. Price was a little bit much and my biggest complaint would be the bathroom. I noticed damage to the walls, floors. There was not enough complimentary products (lotion, etc). When we think of Holiday Inns, we think quality and clean. I have stayed in enough hotels to know when we book a room at the Holiday Inns, we expect more than what we received. Still overall a fair stay just need to pay attention to the details of the rooms.Breakfast was provided, but just average at best.

2021-12-26The staff at this location was phenomenal and the reason I didnt give you 3 stars! I stayed in the suite the 24-26th to celebrate Christmas with my daughter and her family. Our first Christmas without my husband, since we lost my husband unexpectedly in March. I wasnt expecting perfection, but I also wasnt expecting to be this disappointed! There are many good things about this hotel! First and foremost, the amazing staff! So polite and helpful, they represent your company in a wonderful manner, and I hope that you know what an exceptional asset they are to your business! Second, your breakfast is by far one of the best ones I have ever personally experienced! Third, the overall cleanliness of the property was fantastic! As for the disappointing things, Ill start with the main reason we booked our stay with you specifically.... the pool! I wanted a pool to be able to splash and have fun with my grandchildren, it was my only must! And while I did get a nice and clean pool, I wasnt happy to find out that it was ice cold. I never asked for the specific reason why, it honestly didnt matter! Our suite was beautiful! We were pleasantly surprised to find 2 queen beds! The bathroom was big and bright and the in room amenities were nice. Im very familiar with the 2 step temperature safety controls that this shower faucet featured. But never was able to achieve the level of hot water that I was looking forward to. The super industrial fan in the bathroom prevents the ability for a steamy shower as well! The kitchenette area could use some attention! The refrigerator is extremely loud and in need of repair. The microwave was missing the entire piece that goes below the glass tray making it rotate, and the faucet at the sink had a significant calcium type build up which caused water to spray everything nearby. Also, the dispenser in the shower of personal hygiene products had the same product filled in both the shampoo and body wash.I realize that my complaints are mostly trivial things, but when added up and compared to the cost, it just felt frustrating! And as much as I want to be upset, we were able to do the biggest thing we wanted to, which was be together to celebrate our first Christmas without our beloved patriarch!

2022-01-30I stay in hotels three days a week so I consider myself somewhat of an expert. They property far exceeded my expectations. My room and the hotel amenities were first rate. The employees were all wonderful but I have to give an extra mention to Emma at the front desk. She made my check in quick and efficient and she showed genuine concern for my wellbeing during my stay.

2022-04-19Positive: The breakfast is was nice. The room was super clean. Negative: The staff was crazy. There was also a foreign guy pacing up and down the hall for a few hours scream on his phone. The pool is right next to the front desk and door, the whole place smells like bleach. For the price, we should¿ve gotten a different hot

2022-06-27We were very impressed with the Holiday Inn Express in Adrian. Rooms were clean and well attended to during our stay. Breakfast every morning was great. Each member of the staff made sure to ask how our stay was going. If I return to the area, this will be the hotel I choose!

2022-05-01Staff was phenomenal and very helpful. Pool was very clean and so was the room. We didn’t get to utilize the continental breakfast. Elevator was clean and didn’t make any weird noises. WiFi could have been a little better but overall a VERY nice stay.

2022-04-06Stayed four nights at this hotel. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Had a King Room with extra floor space. Room is as pictured on the web site and very clean. The included breakfast was the best we have had at a Holiday Inn Express.

2022-01-27Could have been a little nicer, Ive stayed in a lot of Holiday Inn Express, and feel this location could use an update to match the level of the newer locations I see popping up on my travels. Staff was very nice!! Other guests were also friendly....which is rare lol.

2022-05-12Well I decided to move, an didnt understand how itd be to do when I lived alone. So I ended up having a friend drive the U-Haul, we stopped at holiday inn express in Adrian Michigan, I had 2 hours asleep in 4 days. We got a room, an I went to get some ice an forgot my key. So a holiday inn clerk let me in the wrong room which was next to mine. No big deal. I went down the next morning an ck out. Then I realized I left my phone on the bed, by the time I got back up there, the maid rolled up the bedding an threw it in the laundry 🧺. I went up to this clerk to c about my phone. She started yelling at said I was smoking pot in the room. I was so tried tho, I said its not true, she was so rude I left. After moving 412 miles, I could get my phone back. No way to contact my new manger or none of the numbers I needed when I got to my new town. Ive still not gotten it back.

2021-11-21Breakfast was superb. Great selection of food and the hot food was delicious. Hotel staff wonderful. Selection of frozen meals and snacks in lobby was so nice. Cleanliness of pool was subpar. Cold water, no heat / lots of algae and murky. Pool area needed some definite help. Hotel room had some small problems. It just looked like some preventative maintenance had been missed and that is understandable with everything happening in the world right now. Non-working phone, USB port broken, sink and toilet hard to drain, some grubby areas in bathroom and near coffee maker. Bedroom area was clean and beds were comfortable, but for after a 3.5 hour drive, we really wanted a dip in a warm, clean pool. I think things wouldnt have been such a downer had the pool been great. That was really the focal point of why we booked this hotel.
