Hong Kong Restaurant in other cities:
They messed up on order and wouldnt make a different order for me. My general Tso chicken wasnt spicy. They said I have to specify if I wanted spicy. OK thats fine I know better next time. But they wouldnt even remake the order. They said it was my fault. Really??? And what Chinese food store doesnt have duck sauce. The food may be good but customer service is horrible.
Went there tonight for the buffet. It was horrible. You could tell the food had been sitting there for hours and not even stirred. Crab Rangoon (there were 3 left, I took 2) both were cold. The rice was crunchy because it was old and cold. This used to be our go to Chinese buffet place. We will never return. We each ate about 3 bites of food and asked for the bill. They asked what was wrong and we told them but never once offered to even cut our bill in half. We were there less than 10 minutes and paid our $25.23 and left. We ended up going to Arby’s and getting a much better meal.
Dine-in service was great, me and a few buddies went there right at the end of the buffet time,9 pm I believe, and it was pretty barren, but they told us that they would cook whatever we like (for the same buffet price) and they did! For some poor college students that was awesome. Only complaint is that when you order the food the person is kind of short with you if youre not 100% ready, but other than than that its a great restraunt with great food.
This one star is for the waitress, a trooper working for a rude lady boss. Be forewarned that they charge a $3 fee per plate shared (no extra rice, no extra tea). Not sure what kids are supposed to do. We werent told about this and when we went to talk to the owner she pointed to a single line at the bottom of the last page of the menu and was increasingly rude about it (she did take the extra $6 off in the end). Oversalty food and not enough rice - we as a family of 4 couldnt finish two plates. Not coming back.
Shrimp on buffet was being kept at less than 100°F (145°F is safe for shrimp) which prompted me to check all of the other food temps. I was horrified to find that everything was barely warm.I am 8 months pregnant with a 3 year old, for our health we could not eat anything and management did not care. They were rude when I suggested there was something wrong. They spoke over us stating our food kept at 200°F which was clearly a lie and they would not walk the three feet over to the food and check for themselves. The waitress also lied about the food telling us everything had been put out fresh on the buffet at 5pm. We had arrived at 4.50pm to a full buffet and everything had a film on it from sitting out uncovered. The battered chicken was so tough I literally could not get my fork through it!This place is a food poisioning epidemic waiting to happen with unbelievably rude staff and management. I would advise giving it a miss and saving you stomach the pain.
My favorite Chinese restaurant! Only a handful of times have I got old food that wasnt hot and fresh. The times were late when we would order take out after 7pm, so that might be on my behalf of why it wasnt fresh. So i recommend going durning busy hours to avoid this happening to you.
We came in late, probably around 8:15 PM. I say that to convey that maybe the buffet was a bad choice an hour before closing. Items looked dried out and perhaps the appearance made them taste just ok. The staff was friendly. The facility itself needs some upgrades with broken panels in the lights and faded dingy looking tassels hanging from them. The picture next to our booth was cracked and pieces peeling off. The place was clean. It was very quiet and quaint. I would like to try them again sometime during normal dinner hours.
Best Chinese food in town. Dont go to the places known for the buffet to get your Chinese food. Tonys has a buffet, and compared to others its small, but if u want to feed a single person for two days on $14 worth of takeout, come here. I just did it for the hundredth time at least. Never disappointed. Staff is super friendly too. I have never had a complaint here. Check my reviews, pretty tough to accomplish cuz I tend to be picky. Or a jerk. Not sure which. But if I had bought my takeout by the pound, it would have been outrageous. China one knows what Im talking bout
I know Chinese food and this place was disgusting. You could tell a lot of it was previously frozen. I could have gone to the grocery store and bought better frozen food than that place. At one point, I kept thinking there was motor oil in some of the food. I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt, hoping something else was better...nothing was. The only decent thing was their sweet bread but the sugar on it was way too much. There is not supposed to be that much.
So I come in and order the buffet. It was at 1pm. The potatoes were old brown and crunchy, the mushrooms had been under the heat lamp for at least a day they tasted sour. Nothing was fresh and the price for lunch was insane $29 for two adults and a child. They have one buffet and salad. Horrible will not return ever!!
The selection is minimal but they have all of my favorite items and the food is fresh. I loved their lo mein noodles and crab meat rangoons. I did notice that the burbon chicken and pork steak was fatty and the beef with broccoli was a bit tough. Lunch cost $10.19 out the door with my buffet and soda. Not too bad.
I havent been to Hong Kong in quite awhile. They are located on W. Columbia Ave. Near Riverside Dr. We went there for the lunch buffet. It used to be great. It kinda went down a little, but its GREAT again. Wonderful selection of Asian and some American food. They have the best loe mein and tapioca. Our server was a real sweetie. I would recommend it for lunch any day.
The food was good, I can’t complain about that. But the blonde haired waitress had an attitude the whole time; I’m honestly still shocked about how poor of an experience I had. Her voice was laced with complete disrespect and sarcasm the entire time, she was impatient while I was looking over the menu, and had this defensive attitude over a simple mistake while trying to order a food item.I was quietly sitting at a table near the cash register, waiting for my carry out order to come out, and she was talking to another customer near the entry way to the kitchen (about 10 feet away). She was pretty loud and obnoxious, and she felt the need to have an inappropriate conversation with a man sitting in the booth for the entire resturant to hear...She started by motioning under her eyes, then quickly glanced in my direction, saying something along the lines of,”Her and I were talking about that kind of stuff earlier. She has circles under her eyes.” Then continued on to say,”Women find themselves in those type of relationships, and end up getting killed...” Ironically enough, I have two black eyes, and how I got them is none of her buisness. I’ve noticed plenty of other customers have left bad reviews about her too, so this is a fair warning that this isn’t anything new. Quite frankly, I’m rather disgusted that she felt no remorse in embarrassing a customer like that, and not having the decency to show any type of remorse when she realized I was listening to her talk about me. I’d recommend not wasting your time here with that high school drama, it’s not worth your time.
Ordered late, almost closing. lady ? owner and cashier had discussionfor almost 8 minutes regards to a male customer in to pick up order.. lady orders by phone, he later returns with food.. wrong order.I really dont think thats an issue to be discussing in front of another customer; my food bagged on counter...I paid for order, then remembered fried wonton with cream cheese ( I am only customer inside) Lady owner says oh no problem, and went to back kitchen. She came out with 2nd order, I was so anxious to leave, I could tell their discussion would continue after I left.I got home, opened bags of food ordered....The order of fried wontons was just that...crispy, like warmed 2nd ir 3rd time..No Cream Cheese .It will be a while before I return there.
Tonyy has fallen off. We have been ordering take out for as long as i can remember but the quality and service has taken a huge dive in the past couple years. Rude employees (lady at the front desk and answers phones) and cold, undercooked food ruined my families last couple experiences.
My family and I ate here today and we placed our drink order and told the waitress, Sam, that we were all getting the buffet. She said we could go ahead and get our food whenever. We got up once she walked away and as we were getting our food we heard her yell back to other workers in the back what the f***, the parents ordered water and ordered their kid a diet coke. My sister and I went and talked to the person working the counter..taking calls and doing take out orders and she said shell handle the situation after we leave. No idea if anything was done, but needless to say we will not be back and couldnt believe how judgemental the waitress was! She has no idea that our child only gets pop when we eat out and it honestly is none of her business. Instead of leaving her a monetary tip, we left her a little note with a tip telling her if shes going to judge, she might not want to do it where the people can hear it.
Absolutely horribleFood was under cooked and some not even cooked at all1.75 hrs to get a long Kong steak from the kitchenBuffet food was cold and dried outWaitress was to worried about taking selfies and texting. 45 min before our table was asked for drink ordersSad part there was only a few people dining in
I dont understand why this was voted Best Chinese Restaurant in town. It stated on their site they have a crab leg buffet. It was my reason I came here on Saturday and it wasnt one of the food on the buffet table. In fact, you had to order it as a side order and it is expensive. If you are thinking of coming here for the buffet, dont come here. Their selection is small and shouldnt be charge the same as other prices in town, food wasnt great, and I feel cramped in the buffet area. However, if you want to order from the menu and you are able to afford it, then this place is for you. The food from the menu is not the best nor is the worst. As for decorations, its a Chinese restaurant alright. Lots of red and lots of gold, good feng shui! People are friendly here and excellent service.
Been going here for more than 20 yrs and off the menu is just as good as buffet which is made in small batches to keep it fresh .The waitresses are right on the spot if not to buzy. Not a long wait and have made good friends over the years. And offers a ticket to be punched if you get enough punches you get free lunch or supper.
We went on Christmass day for lunch just because we needed to eat while on vacation and it was the only thing open. Walked in and saw the big dry erase board sitting in the welcome area by the register and it listed lunch and dinner buffets at a great price, $7-10. GREAT! Lets get the buffet! The food was not very good, mostly pre frozen and fried. But hey, at $8, Thats fine, we were hungry. The bill came, and was almost $100!!! What? I went to the register and pointed at the big sign right in front of it and said this bill is wrong. The waitress got mad at the Aisian woman manning the register whats this? Whats this? while erasing the board and then pointed to a hand written sign on the back of the door, behind me. $23.99 Christmass Day Special. I sent my wife and kids to the car and had them adjust the bill while arguing about the displayed prices. We put the price in the news paper, this is Christmas special If we wanted to spend $100 on lunch we could have gone to the casino and had quality food and a way bigger selection. Im actually surprised that the restaurant has 4 stars..
I use to love the place until my friend that use to work there saw someone in the kitchen drop an entire pan of chicken on the floor and then proceed to use the chicken. My take out orders have been incorrect and then i was treated poorly for asking for it to be corrected. Not planning on returning.
My wife and I called to place a pick up order at Old China Super Buffet. Were right down the street from them and the food is quite tasty. Unbeknownst to us, Tonys Hong Kong appears to have hijacked all of the online listings for Old China and replaced their phone number with Tonys. So naturally when we arrived to pick up our order, Old China had no idea what we were talking about. Pretty shady. Ill never eat at Tonys again. As a side note, I love that the owner has gone through blaming their customers for the issues raised. Stay classy Tony!
Ive been eating there for more than 20 years and watched the quality of food slowly decline through the years. Tonight I ordered 6 egg rolls with our food. When I got home we found 6 crab raccoons instead. I called and she told me to come back and get the egg rolls but then wanted to charge us for the crab rangoons that I never ordered. Im tired of lackluster service and sub par food from Tonys and after 20 plus years as a loyal customer Im done.
Cold chewy food even during dinner time . i think they reuse food from days before . can taste MSG real bad in most of there food would skip going there by all means hands down. they have a waitress named Tina that is a complete rude b**** avoid her at all costs shes been there since she was in high school and shes burned out very very rude. Your best bet is just to pick another restaurant and go there to eat avoid this place at all cost.
We didnt stay and finish the food even. Still paid, and when we go to the car we were chased down and accused of not paying. My grandson was served a grilled cheese sandwich with moldy bread. My fiance and I were served uncooked vegetables. I will never go here again.
I love the wait staff at Hong Kong Tony’s but ate there for the first time in about a year since I moved out of town and the food has really gone down hill. Chicken was way overcooked, the sesame chicken was more breading than chicken, even the steak had a funny taste to it.Kung pow chicken was good but didn’t have any peanuts in it.
Maybe instead of correcting someones spelling you should correct the issues with your restaurant. Namely, the owner. You come on these reviews mocking paying customers who have had a bad experience at your place of business. You display a level of foolishness and lack of candor that is paralleled only by the idiots on Kitchen Nightmares who run themselves out of business in five years time. I might be seeing you then—if youre still open, of course.
Every time I come back to visit Michigan this is a MUST have! Nowhere else does their Hot and Sour Soup or Lo Mein the same, and I crave it! Even tried recreating it myself and I just cant do it. Buffet means I can get unlimited helpings, and these two addictive items always seems to be on when I stop!
I use to eat here but the staff there is very rude and unfriendly. With other great Chinese restaurants in town like Golden Dragon and New China Moon, its a waist of time going to Hong Kong. Here is the top Chinese restaurants in town. #1 Its a tie with Golden Dragon and New China Moon. #2 Old China Buffet. The rest of the Chinese restaurants in town are tied for last.
Baaad!Hardly any food to choose from, buffet pan wernt filled up with constant fresh foods. Half the buffet pan were empty. My first bite of white rice was way undercooked.I feel bad for my girlfriend mainly...Had to edit this after I left. the cashier aswerd her phone first instead of cashing myself out. phone calls are important...
New to Battle Creek I hoped for a better experience than others had posted, but that didnt happen. If anyone can contradict this review, please, show me where they have a menu online..We ordered a variety of food for take out (They do not deliver):Sweet and Sour Chicken- not bad hard to mess upCrab Rangoon- expensive for the quality received (imitation crab and raw onions?)Fried Chicken Wings- good, but these are hard to mess upBeef Lo Mein- I think I got angel hair pasta? (Lo Mein is supposed to be thick noodles)The interior looked nice, but Im not ordering from here again. Rule of thumb, if there are no asian people eating in an asian restaurant you are probably better off eating elsewhere.
Horrible place. Some of the most terrible service ive ever experenced from a server named Tina who works there. Extremely hostile is the words I would use to discribe the perfromance of her duties as a waitress at this establishment. Needless to say I will not be returning with good reason!
Being pregnant and craving Chinese is rough because of the MSG. I was asking for help ordering something that didn’t have MSG in it, as it’s bad for the baby, and the lady said “ummmm.” And then then line disconnected ! I guess it was too hard to help a pregnant lady fufill her craving! I was so so upset. That’s fine, Hong Kong. I’ll go somewhere else.
There is a lady named tina who works here. She is very disrespectful and insulting to disabled people. I wont come back here again and If you care about how other people are treated you should join me in boycotting this establishment based on intolerant additudes they project out in our community.
Well you see we order food they messed up on it we ask for Tell me noodles that are cooked And they give us fried noodles that are dry They messed up on their end and theyre making me pay a for it And I asked a lady can we just do an exchange no you have to pay I will be taking my business elsewhere in the Future

2022-02-10Prices have gone up 40% in the last year vut the foood is the same. Lots of mushroom stems, not the caps and broccoli stalk, not the top of the broccoli. This place has been on the decline for years. Had a cockroach in my food about ten years ago and didnt go there for a long time.

2021-05-20I really like the taste of the food here. Little bit different than other Chinese restaurants. For the most part I dont care for the woman thats usually at the front desk and God help you if youre trying to call to place an order because most of the time the phone is busy. They take their phone off the hook which cost them a fair amount of money from me since Chinese for the most part is my favorite type of food. As of this review theres still no dining in and has only take out. If you dont mind mind the inconvenience of going in to order your food and then waiting for it then this place would be my top choice in the local area. The all you can eat buffet isnt all that great with limited choices compared to most others.... For when youre able to go sit down and eat.

2021-08-05Great food but not so great customer service. Not a very welcoming/friendly person at the register. After my most recent experience, we won’t be back. Sorry - there are many other local restaurants that appreciate the business.

2021-09-29So I ordered food from here I have my receipt reflecting 36.57 and I have my bank account showing they took 43.88 I just called them just for the owner to tell me I’m lying but I have my bank statement. This is the second time this has happened and I figured the last time due to this pandemic that it was an automatic tip charge. SMH bad business and I didn’t approve the extra charge never going here again and I’m calling my bank to dispute the extra charge!!!!!
