I really cannot say enough positive things about my experience with Hoover and Sons Auto Repair. My husband and I have used the repair service twice now, once for my daughter’s vehicle and recently for my own vehicle. Each time we received excellent service. They will have our business for as long as they are in business.
I have never thought about leaving a review until my experience I had with Hoover and sons Auto. Not only was he honest and try to educate me, so if I decided to go anywhere else I could ask the proper questions. His price was far better than anyone else I talked to. I will be recommending this shop to everyone I know or come across. I can honestly say I have never received better service.
Took my daughters car in for a coolant leak that we have been dealing with for a month. They had it diagnosed and fixed in a day. Professional service. These guys are worth their weight in gold. I trust this place with my automobiles! They were very friendly and knowledgeable. I had taken my car five times in one month to get it fixed at another place. After $650 it still wasn’t right! The light was still on on my dashboard. I want to Huber’s and he said I think I know exactly what it is and it was an easy simple fix. Hoover repair shop knows what they’re doing!
Took our car to Midas and they quoted us 4000 dollars, took our car here for a second opinion and we didnt even spend 1000. Save your money and come to Hoover and sons for your car issues. Truthful, good people. Thank you for your help and awesome service.
Yesterday was not the first time I took my 09 Ford Escape in to have repairs done at Hoover & Sons. The reasons I keep going back are not only their fair prices, but also their honesty, integrity, and friendliness to everyone. It feels great to know that when I drive away, I know the repairs are done right and also dont have to worry about the quality of the parts or the work. We’ve been there for work on my car two or three times so far, and it has been more than excellent! They’re very friendly, and their work has always been great! My son went with me last time to pick up my car, and after watching how I was treated and how good their work was, he plans to start taking his cars there as well. I can’t say enough good things about them! I’m so glad we found them!
Had a timing chain issue in a 2009 Chevy Malibu been dealing with it for over 6 months now. Every time Ive taken the vehicle back in they have taken care of it with warranty work at no cost to me. Finally the last time i took it in he replaced the engine at no cost to me because of all the issues. He bit the bullet to make a customer happy i would recommend his work as he stands behind all repairs done at his shop. Hoover and Sons i would recommend for quality workmanship.
I got in a minor accident and they fixed my car up in no time (two days to be exact)! My repairs werent costly which is a plus! When I go somewhere to get anything fixed I appreciate being talked to like a person, not an idiot or fool for a lack of knowledge, which is what Chuck did. I know nothing about cars and I always hear about places that take advantage of that, but here he was straight foward and honest and treated me and my car with respect. Love this place. Very nice people walked in there today my tire went flat down the Rd. And, I didnt have the money to pay to have them go to my car and put my spare on so I walked out walking back down the Rd 9 months pregnant and a gentleman ran out and asked me to come back and he would do it free . Him and the guy at the front desk drove to my car and put it on then brought it back to me at the shop. They made my day ! Will always suggest them ! They are awesome!
I would like to give a recommendation out to Hoover & Sons Auto Repair on Fenton Rd in Flint. We took our truck there because we suspected the antenna was broke (the radio didn’t work). Not only did they fix it in a timely manner for a reasonable price...they also found some cash that we had left in the truck and they returned it without hesitation. This shop is owned by a Christian man named Chuck...and I have to say I was impressed. Give em a try!
Chuck was a great guy. Unlike other places that rip you off with nonexistent problems, this is a place you should go to if you want your vehicles to work longer and your pockets not being emptied for it. I definitely recommend Hoover and Sons.
Chuck Hoover is a THIEF!! He told me my car needed a new engine. He charged me over $500.00 to tell me this. I declined the repairs and had my vehicle towed to a different garage. They told me all I needed was an A/C compressor. The compressor seized up and the starter would not turn the motor over. They charged me for a starter I didnt need and MISDIAGNOSED the car completely. Tried to rip me off over three thousand dollars for a new motor. The other shop fixed my car for $347.00. Customers beware!!!! Get another opinion!
Chuck was awesome. I had all around great service here. They are honest and dependable. I live in South Carolina and my starter went out up in Flint Michigan and I was stranded. First things first I thought it was my battery so I took it into advanced auto where they told me my battery was no good after I told chuck about this he called them and literally demanded that they bring him the battery so he could test it personally and what do you know I ended up taking my new battery back and right away saving $110 from doing something he didnt have to do. I had to sit there for a few hours and he repeatedly came out and talked to me and made sure I was comfortable. They didnt try to sell me on a bunch of things I didnt need they got to the point and fixed my problem in a timely fashion. This is my first review Ive ever wrote and they deserve it, he helped me out a lot and I would recommend Hoover and Sons to anyone!
These guys do great work 3rd time Ive been there with one of our vehicles and problem fixed every time. Excellent mechanic s will not go anywhere else. They will continue to service our fleet every time we need them. Great guys
My girlfriend has taken her car to Hoover & Sons several times in the last year. Every time she has taken it there they have done a great job at a fair price and on time. Once she had to take it back and the owner took care of it himself. Mr Hoover is a hard working local business owner who deserves our business and works for it!
Took my van to a shop and was chargedtons of money and never got it fixed. Took it to the guys at Hoover and sons and boom they fixed the problem on the first try. These guys really know what theyre doing, I trust them with all of my repairs and my vehicle always gets fixed right. They are friendly, honest and fair, and thats not easy to find anymore. I recommend them to my friends and family because of the quality of their work.
The place is a disaster Only 1 person working the other hanging out in the corner by his toolbox. Dropped off a short shaft for new u joints from my 76 vette at 945am said no problem to pick it up by 2 pm. Came back at 2pm not done. Was then told by 330 it would be done NOT DONE! Mechanic on duty said the u joints was out needed to be put in. I stood around and watched him press them out. Not very honest. Now its 5:00 pm still waiting.....well after all that waiting NOT DONE. I took my half shaft home to do myself. NEVER WILL I BE BACK

I was excited to be there it was nice to feel like I was talking to a human and not someone that only wanted my money and they also do great work and are honest and got my truck done in a respectful time. They also called me with updates! I recommend them
The staff of very knowledgeable and nice. I was anticipating having a large expensive repair done. They checked my vehicle and assured me that what I thought needed replacement was totally unnecessary.
Had the shop do headers and exhaust on my old school galaxie. Sounds good. After a couple tweaks here and there. Ill be back. They did everything the could given the parts i provided. Very polite people.

Took my truck in for a wiper motor and they broke my windshield. The mechanic admitted it wasnt broken but the owner still wouldnt take responsibility. STAY AWAY. The owner stepped up to the plate and took care of the windshield and apologized for any inconvenience that was caused.
They did 3500$ in damage on my 2005 GTO because some smart kid cant install a drive shaft the right way and it was only 3 bolts! Dont take nothing to them unless you want it broke!! I now need a new transmission and that one was brand new still! A new yoke and a new drive shaft when that was a brand new 1000hp one! If your car is your pride and joy DONT TAKE IT THERE!
I hear that they are going to close. I went over there from tires kingdom as a refferal but Hoover sons auto , he couldnt get my A/C to stop blowing warm. I am taking my car somewhere else because I am embarrassed to say how much the rude guy chuck or chip I forget charged me. He gauged me and my poor daughter. Also I had to sit on the dirty floor with roaches. While I waited. I rate them a ZERO NEGATIVE ZERO. I AM GOING

Fuel line was shot. Called. Had it towed and picked it up the next day all patched up and good to go. Slightly pricey but worth it. Appreciate the good work. Please continue doing excellent work and God Bless.
I took my 1997 LeSabre in to have an oil leak repaired. Chuck diagnosed the trouble as front and rear seals leaking. They fixed it and I have been very happy to no longer see oil leaking in my driveway and garage! They found out the real problem after several other shops told me it was an oil pan leak. I would highly reccommend them with any problems you have with your car. I have taken my car back today for a rear brake job that is needed and will continue to go to them with any problems I have in the future!
This business is the BEST. They know how to treat you with respect and dignity and will do what it takes to make sure there customers are happy. They understand that times are tuff on everyone and will try there best to make sure they can try to help you the best way they can. I will be coming here for any vehicle service that I need done. I am a handicap senior. On the way 2 the dentist. In the rain. Windshield wipers STOPPED working. They R kind , helpful, trying 2 squeeze me in as I am STRANDED.😯❗GOD BLESS THEM.

Had glow plugs replaced, they went bad in about 45 days, but owner stood by his work and replaced them under the one year warranty with no hassle. Honest diesel mechanic

I would like to recommend that you get in writing the cost of repairs. Our cost went from 140. -160. dollars to 246. They didnt even call to ok this, they just did it. Very bad business. We will NOT be going back.

2022-02-05I had to get my alternator replaced. The vehicle was towed to the shop because of this. They called me and told me that the only alternator they had that could be obtained was 400 dollars. So I called around after asking who they had accounts with and found one in five minutes for 237 dollars. After calling back and telling them they told me if I went that route its be more expensive and that the man was trying to help me out. All together it was 741 dollars to replace an alternator. If you have any other mechanic go to them because these guys are out for your money or at least with my experience they were.This second part is in response to what you replied. I did authorize the job to be done yes because I wasnt going to get it towed elsewhere. Your employee never mentioned anything about the quality of part, he straight up told me that I couldnt have that one because you guys didnt accept customer parts. Your a liar and if you want to make things right refund me partial on this because it never should have been this costly .

2022-04-17My review keeps being blocked. So Ill try again. Hoovers is the worst mechanic I have ever been to. I went up there 3 times to get my car after that called and told me to come get it and each time something was wrong and it wasnt able to drive away. Then I was charged another $300 or $400 for the repairs that should have been done already.Edit:You think my review is fake? My car was a 2002 jeep liberty that I took to you for an engine swap. Back in December. My review was taken down for some unknown reason so I hade to make a short one.. if you call me a liar chuck I will post all the receipts I have of yall ripping me off.

2021-10-11I have been going to hoover and sons for the last 10 years and they have done work that covers everything from simple oil changes to actually replacing the sub frame on my suv. Chuck, the owner is always willing to go the Xtra mile to solve whatever issues I have. Tyler is one of the mechanics that I often deal with and he does excellent work and has been able to handle any problems that I have incurred. Definitely would recommend hoover & sons for any automotive needs

2018-12-02The owner is a very knowledgeable man. Many people I tried explaining my car issue to just jumped to the easy conclusion that it was just a fuse or a wiring issue. But, when I called this shop the owner was up front and honest. It seemed like he knew almost right away what the issue truly was with my car. I came and they fixed it right up for me in a very timely manner. I will recommend Hoover & Sons auto repair to anyone looking to get their car fixed. The owner is also a very nice Godly man, he made me feel so much better in a not so good time in my life. Thank you so much ❤️

2020-07-04I highly recommend Hoover and son’s. Recently we brought our van to them after going to a few other shops because our the engine in our van was very loud. They took a look and quickly found the problem and fixed it and now my van is back to normal. The price was fair and cheaper than what we were quoted before. We truly appreciate them and whenever we need auto work done again we will make sure to use them again.
