We will not be staying in the hotel again. Booked a king room. Checked in, went to our room and found it was a double. Nothing said to us upon check in. Hauled our luggage back to the lobby to tell them about the mistake in room assignment. Told they gave our king room to a wedding party and this was all they had left. Why were we not informed that our reservation changed? Why was that reservation more important than ours?Front desk receptionist said it wasnt her problem. No manager on duty at that time. She really didnt seem like she wanted to be bothered since she kept her ear buds in the entire time she was helping us.Poor customer service.Still charged us for the king even though we were given a double. Will not be staying here again and will definitely be posting on other sites to warn others.
Room was nice and clean, however the breakfast was ok, except for the breakfast sandwiches were completely terrible, and they ran out of them 2 days in a row! (And what appeared to be a full hotel?) I stayed at a Drury Inn the previous week in Indiana, and they have one of the best Breakfasts Ive ever had! Maybe they need to take note from them? At $175 per night I guess I expected better...
The desk clerk was very friendly and made sure we had extra sheets for the hide-a-bed when I mentioned I would need to use. He had them sent up right away! The staff were all very helpful, our breakfast in the morning was on the go and they did a great job with that. But, the hide-a-bed had stains and food all over it. And the carpet was nasty with spots and sticky food all over as well. The road outside and parking lot were not kept up, had a lot of pot holes. Those are the only things I didnt find satisfactory about staying at this hotel.
This was ok. Nothing special and nothing terrible. They are trying to manage as best they can at this time but had to ask for coffee 3 times before receiving it, pull out sofa had no bedding in room and just a huge nasty stain on the mattress, got the bedding and had to go back down to get a pillow as they won’t come to the rooms. Pool was nice. Pretty dated hotel. So noisy whole place smelt like pot. Not the worst I have stayed at but we do not have any plans to return.
The website didnt say we had to schedule housekeeping a day in advance if you expect your bed to be made, fresh towels, in-room coffee service to be refreshed. Instead, you have to get your supplies at the front desk. Even after scheduling housekeeping, they did not come. Your website says there is onsite dining, but there was not. The Starbucks espresso machine was not working. A disappointing stay to say the least. We could have paid less for more at the hotel sharing the same driveway.
We got a room with 1 king bed an pull out couch. The pullout bed didnt fit in the room. We had to mess with the furniture to get it to fit. An when the bed is out you have to climb over the bed to get out of the room. An the bathroom was very small. You had to wedge ureself in the corner to close tho door. Room was clean tho
We had stayed here before, excellent service, huge breakfast and clean. Well on Expedia it said they still offered breakfast. They had nothing. You have to be let in the pool and then locked in. There were no sheets for the pull out bed. Then when we pulled out the bed this is what we saw..A picture says a thousand words.Gross🤮
Positive: Location was ideal for my visit. Other than that it was an utter disappointment in comparison to my previous stay. Negative: Reserved a suite on a high floor w/a microwave. Room was neither. Staff stated they had cleaned the carpet on the high floor & was still drying. Brought microwave to room. Room permeated w/the rancid stench of marijuana coming through the air vents.
I would say compared to other Hyatt places this one is a little more dated and worn down, but still a great option for a quick trip. The room was clean just had lots of signs of wear and tear. They allow pets and you could definitely see evidence in this by the scratches and chips at the bottom of the doors and floor. Nothing that will bother your stay just an eye sore. The breakfast currently is a standard Covid issued bag with an apple, cup of cereal, granola bar, milk and juice. Obviously not nearly as good as their normal buffet breakfast but it gets the job done. The coffee was really good compared to other hyatts Ive stayed at lately. The location was great being close to lots of dining options, and theres a great outlet mall about ten minutes away. There was noise outside my room that was really loud but it was from guests in the parking lot. Im pretty sure they were a work crew hanging out before or after a shift. It was terribly loud at 11pm but only lasted for an hour and then was quiet. I would highly guess this isnt the norm, so you should have a peaceful stay. The real gem at this hotel is the staff. The man who helped me at both check in and checkout (male, 40s, short black hair, African American, always had a lions mask on) was everything youd expect from the Hyatt brand. A true gem who was very knowledgeable and kind.
Our stay was delightful! Thank you Lacrecia, Meagan and staff! Our room was cozy, the surroundings were clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was hearty enough, (Bkft sandwiches, fruit, yogurt, fresh fruit, fruit cups, cereal, beverages, muffins, Kind bars , or boiled eggs, et al). A brief walk to fooderies, Quik Mart and quick ride to retail stores/ malls. THE BEDS ARE SUPER NICE. We loved our room set up with the L-shape lounge sofa/bed and the wet bar! This is really where you want to be. its a friendly, affordable, and cozy ... not to forget convenient--- for fun, shopping and resting!
Stayed here with a few friends. The first room we had didnt have a latch on the door and the handle on the bathroom sink fell off, they did move us rooms. Second rooms bathroom door handle was broken on the outside (pulled off when we tried to close the doors)and the door handle on the outside was very loose. Got asked where we were going and what room we were staying in multiple times by guest staying at the hotel between the hours of 12am and 6am, including a group of people standing by infront of the elevator on the 6th floor. The bathroom was extremely tight too. If I was a woman i wouldnt feel safe staying here, I didnt feelbsafe staying as man with multiple people. (The room wasnt under my name)Upon reading the response from the *front desk supervisor*, its obvious they dont take the time to respond to concerns their customers have, and only respond with a copy/paste message
The sign says Hyatt Place but youll be treated like youre at a $30 a night roach motel. Check in people are rude, they dont want to be bothered. My remote didnt have batteries, I didnt get a new remote until over 24 hours later. I checked in a on Tuesday... the check in girl said, all the rooms were full so she couldnt get a new remote, it was 2 am and there were 12 cars in the parking lot. I asked for a do not disturb sign 5 different times in a 3 day span, I never got a do not disturb sign. All of the people working the front desk had a complete miserable attitude except one. They flipped out when i asked if i could use the pool, the weird guy said you have to sign up for it days a ahead a time. Really? I get it, its not the greatest job, but dont act like you own the hotel and then not a guest a simple do not disturb sign. Hyatt sucks elephant balls.
The hotel itself was a good experience. Our room was clean. Did not realize we would not have a microwave, small issue there. The other guests were the issue. Regularly had a smell of weed in our room/hall/elevator on our floor. When we had pool time some of the kids were inconsiderate, splashing my young kids in their faces and jumping in a no jump/dive pool.
Room was outdated, dusty. Service okay although fridge didnt work and staff didnt bother to fix the problem. We stayed for two days and the fridge not working definitely was an issue. Room was not cleaned after first day and not refreshed. Cards didnt work second day. Pool closed Sunday although no real reason to be closed. Meh experience and will not stay again.
Following a horrible ordeal with Stays of America hotel, we drove around in search of safety, cleanliness, relaxed comfort, normalcy! Pulled up to Hyatt Place and Lequisha at the front desk was so wonderful to us. We checked into the perfect room, felt luxurious for less than “hotel hell” down the street. Three day perfect stay, bagged breakfast toooed off the hospitality!
This place was super clean and very updated! The staff was very nice and accommodating. They give you all that you need and if you forget anything you can buy or borrow what you need. The beds are super comfortable. I didnt like the pillows because they were too soft for me due to my neck issues. They also have couch beds, so you get three beds in one room if you need them. Ok so the drive was so worth it for the price and the accommodations that they provide. The best part is they have a Starbucks and bar inside. Check out times are at noon, but you have until 3pm before they charge you for a second night. If you have never stayed at this hotel before you are messing out!
My room was very spacious, very clean, and they even have a complimentary breakfast I was able to take mine back to my room. The lobby and eating area was also very nice, an indoor pool (although I didnt get to try it out due to my busy weekend) and a small fitness center. Every employee I met was actually extremely polite from the front desk to housekeeping. My only single gripe would be the number of pillows for a king bed were a bit sparce and they were honestly way too soft, but thats a personal preference. I asked the housekeeping lady (very cool lady who I found out also speaks Chinese) for extra pillows and she was very prompt in returning with more pillows and straightened my room so quickly she was in and out in the blink of an eye. I didnt book the room personally so I cant necessarily comment on exact price, but it was a great place to stay and if you need somewhere close to Pontiac or Detroit and dont mind hopping on the hwy, Id make it your preferred choice!
I used to be a huge Hyatt fan, advocate, always stay here. And now, my last 3 stays at a Hyatt in Louisiana, Texas and now Michigan have left a lot to be desired. Where to start…. Check in was fine. There, a positive! From there it absolutely went downhill: the pillows were half the size of a normal pillow, the a/c unit sounded like a plane taking off, I got one set of towels without a washcloth (they were out), no tissue box, I had to get my own, in order to receive breakfast you have to ask for each item…give me a break…we won’t catch COVID grabbing a container of oatmeal or cereal! All in all, I’m going to search for a new place to stay! I will be in Auburn Hills a lot over the next few months and I’m not going to settle. Thanks former Hyatt, it’s time to move on…
Everything is pretty good. I only have 1 complain that makes me drop 2 stars: customer service. And I have seen nearly all the staff. Only 1 person seems to not care about his job or the customer...or maybe he gets easily offended when asking him questions...he is a young black guy and man...Everytime I have to ask him a question I get on my nerves.
The lady at the front desk, Linda, was AMAZING. She was my favorite part of the hotel. The hotel has a front desk area that connects around a wall to a coffee/cocktail bar. Since it was late, she was both front desk associate and bartender. She made my stay AMAZING. She was very personable and professional as well as efficient. As far as the actual hotel - the breakfast was great and easily accessible. My room was clean-ish. My comforter had a large stain on it (smelled like coffee) and I dont believe my sheets were clean (spots and such). The downstairs bathroom had toilet paper everywhere. Really the only issue I had was my bed not being clean. Everything else was great, rooms are spacious and very comfortable.
We booked and checked in here after a last-minute change of plans (due to a horrible experience at the hotel we were currently booked across the parking lot). The front desk staff was great and very helpful. The rooms were clean, it was quiet, and the free breakfast was fantastic. Would absolutely recommend staying here.
I like this hotel but the last time I stayed I did notice it was going downhill. I have stayed at this hotel 4-5 times in the last 4 years. The rooms are very clean and the attendants are very helpful. The pool is a little too cold for my taste and TV channels are limited. The breakfast is fresh, plentiful, and a great bargain included in your rate. The only disappointing items on my last stay was the smell of marijuana smoke down the hallway of our floor and I noticed they were allowing non-service pets.
Rooms have a great resign to make a smaller room feel large. Plenty of accessible ports for your video and audio needs right on the wall. Hook up gaming system, computer, or even your phone.Very well kept and clean. The lobby feels very modern. Breakfast options were amazing.Nice size pool, snacks can be charged to your room. There is no hot tub though. There was a leak on the first floor with a sign off to the side. Should have had something catching the water. I almost fell and didnt see the sign. There was also no towels in the pool area. I did have to request some. There was a small fire during our stay because if a dryer. We were forced to evacuate. The hotel was very hospitable during this time.Overall the experience was great but there were some minor flaws that cost them a star. I would be willing to try it again.
Great location, nice large room. Comfortable beds. Good sheets, staff friendly. Decent price. Only things I would change would be to take the water- saver shower head off and have some water pressure in the shower. Also the TV was super but the remote only worked partially. Ice is only available on floors 1, 3 and 5. We were on 6. Our room attendants didnt show up until 5pm. That was too late so we declined her visit. Would for sure stay there again.
Nice modern hotel with nice amenities. Staff was super friendly and went out the way to provide great customer service. I enjoyed the separate sitting area and desk for work. Indoor pool and bar was a perk as well. The only problem I encountered with my 3 day stay is hearing guests in the hallway. If you are a light sleeper or easily get annoyed with noise I recommend ear plugs or headphones.I would return again.
Nice hotel. Rooms were very big. Pretty close to everything we were doing. They even have a shuttle that took us to the bar at night. Driver was a very nice guy. Only criticism is the breakfast but then again no hotel ever has real breakfast food. If it is real it doesnt look that way. They do have a small bar there too but we enjoyed going out. Great bars are Rochester Tap Room and Bar Louie. Both stay open till late.
Nice sized room, needs some upgrades and the floor plan is a little funny. Breakfast area is soooooo small and crazy busy. Food was pretty good though. Ran out of plates every morning. Pool was nice, goes to 6 feet. When I called to get more pool towels, I was hung up on. Only accessible microwave is in the lobby. Overall it was ok, I might stay there again but just know not expect an amazing experience.
The Hyatt was very clean and modern. Check in was quick and I had no issues with the room or any amenities. The AC/heating system was very effective and I didnt have any need for additional service. Continental breakfast was good, and food aplenty, though plates and utensils were not stocked enough for a Sunday morning and they ran out. I think the hotel was a great value for the money overall. I wish I couldve tried the pool, which happened to be 20ft from my room, but I was not around during pool hours. I would recommend this Hyatt and definitely stay there again should the need arise.
This hotel is very clean, however I could not believe that there was not one microwave in the entire hotel. Friendly service, no matter what time of rhe day! The printer did not work for printing out maps or documents, either and the public browser was programmed to only use explorer. (Limited access).
The staff were very professional and friendly. They went above and beyond when they found out it was my sons birthday. The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast had a good variety and the hot food was delicious. The pool was clean but chilly water. We are glad we booked with Hyatt.
This place was great! I took my family here for the weekend to celebrate two birthdays, we had four kids with us and any parent knows how hard it is to find a hotel to accommodate that many. They were great. Both managers, I think both their names were Matt, were great hostesses. Anything we needed they were sure to help us with and they even let us stay a little longer in the pool which the kids loved and helped them sleep on the long road back up north. This hotel is very clean, housekeeping must be cleaning 24/7 because there was always one of them cleaning somewhere no matter what time it was. The room was nice and spacious which was great for family time. I would also recommend this to businessmen, its a very quiet and clean space and also has technology in the rooms that Ive never seen in any other hotel that allows you to hook up your computer or phone right to their tv from the wall. I would definitely stay at this hotel again if ever in the area. Prices were great, food was great, and plenty of hospitality from all the staff. Thank you so much for making our weekend great!
Im between 3 and 2 stars for a rating. Just because the first room I was in the shower had black stuff along the glass door edge and the tiles grout was yellowish and grimy looking. Unfortunately, I ment to take photos and forgot. Then one of the pillow cases looked yellowish and dirty compared to the rest. The others were white and crisp. My room was right next to the elevators ..so I heard everything going on outside. They should have built the rooms a little more sound proof. At least the ones immediately by the elevators. The staff are polite and friendly. I liked being on the higher floors nice to be able to open your window and leave it open. Beds are comfortable I like how theres a large couch and a small divider between rooms. The pillows need upgrading for sure. Theres a an indoor heated pool open til late by the lobby ..when I was walking towards the elevator the floors were all wet easy for a patron to slip and fall the elevator flooring was soaked as well. They need to monitor these types of things more efficiently someone can get hurt. Especially if your logging things and dont immediately notice it.
My family and I stayed here this weekend and everything was excellent! The room was very spacious, modern but cozy. Breakfast was delicious and the front desk service was very sweet. I wish I could remember the name of the gentleman that was working the breakfast area, so well call him Ashsing ( I know Im way off ) and the young lady at the desk, Younique, were very personable and so kind. Would highly recommend this place.
This hotel is a really nice hotel. My boyfriend and i came to town just for the night for a concert! We decided at the last minute to get a hotel. We booked a king room, We arrived about 4 o’clock and were asked if we could do two doubles instead because they were fully booked the night before and were still cleaning up. Not five minutes later we were offered our king room! It was clean, spacious, and had a great view! The people at the front desk apologized for the wait and checked us right in! We got settled in and left for our concert. We returned about 11 or so, got back up to our room and settled in for the night. The beds were firm but comfortable! The only issue we had through the night was hearing kids in the hallway returning to their rooms. The next morning we headed down to the lobby to get breakfast! It was very good considering it was a “free continental breakfast” eggs, sausage, pancakes, fresh fruit! All were just tasty! All in all we will definitely recommend this hotel to others!
Pet friendly. Place was updated and clean. The rooms were roomy for the price point. The staff and housekeeping was very friendly and helpful. Only 2 neg is no microwave in room. Got a mini fridge, but u must go use the microwave in lobby area. Not the greatest at night when u have alot of guys at the bar area. The pool is barely heated. My kids loved it, but Way to cold for my taste.
Its my second time staying at this establishment. I stayed once two years ago after a wedding and again for another wedding. The wait staff were very friendly, not getting frustrated with our large group and disorganization in the lobby as the bridal party and guests parted ways for the night. The room was clean and spacious with a setup that separates the toilet and shower from the sink. This is more common now, but its a great bonus since it doesnt prevent others from getting ready it using the bathroom. The continental breakfast had a fairly good variety of foods and was great for that part reception slump from dancing and drinking. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you have a need to stay in the area.
Rooms were nice, well styled, and clean. The beds were comfortable with nice pillows, and a good couch and TV area. The closet was oddly placed and was at an off angle so the door only allowed access to happiness of it. The bathroom was very small and tight to squeeze in, especially given the door position. You had to squeeze in next to the toilet, or all the way into the shower to shut the door. The bathroom was also not the best lit. With no natural lights and being so small, it felt a bit dingy. The breakfast was lackluster with tiny square plates that caused me to spill syrup everywhere. The coffee was super hot, to the point of burning your mouth, and the breakfast area was a bit of mess. Definitely the low point of the stay right at the end.
The hotel was beautiful, clean and modern as was the room. The room was also large with separate living and sleeping areas. The breakfast was also very good. The best part was their staff! They went out of their way to be friendly and engage us. We were very impressed with their people and how they treated us.
This is the second time i stay here for work. The rooms are big and nice, but it is wired that the sink is in the room instead of the restroom. The restroom for is really cold especially when it is cold outside. But the breakfast was really good. I love the bed. Comfortable mattress and love the pillows. Four pillows all for me. 😄
Recently stayed the week. Establishment well cared for and maintained. Tried the bar and found it way way over priced which was a shame. My company is not to large and runs on a tight budget. Would have been nice to use this area for a gathering spot for the crews staying here. Bathrooms are small compared to test of the room.
The two beds and pull out a couch was plenty of room for two adults and 4 big kids.Join the Hyatt Club, and enjoy the wonderful breakfast bar.Destiny at the desk was great! On the down side, the the pillows are too squishy/thin/flat. And our room temp was hard to regulate. Please fix.
A good hotel that seems to be kept up well. You can tell its an older building but theyve updated it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are large and comfortable. Some fixtures are dated and cheap but they all function fine. The beds are solid and comfortable. The breakfast was a standard hotel continental afair and I believe it will not be free for guests unless you sign up for a Hyatt membership starting November 2018. There isnt too much in the local area but it seems like more of a business hotel so it serves that crowd well.
Hyatt Place in Auburn Hills, badly managed. So check in and check out took a while and so did getting a beer ad the thee staff couldn’t seems to split themselves between the reception, bar and small eating area. It seems they were always together.Soon wasn’t too clean. Hairs in the shower. Bed wasn’t great either.Worst part of my one night stay was being woken up at 3am by the snow plow, see the pic. The noise went on for over an hour.Avoid this place. Try one of the many other great places in this area.
The suite we stayed in was very clean, had a modern feel and was spacious. The staff were all very friendly and helped us numerous times when we had questions. The free breakfast in the morning was great and the bar attached to the lobby was small but had enough choices for us to have a quick drink before bed. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would recommend it to our friends!
Layout of the room is weird. One 2 for two spaces. Hard to see from all angles... had their towels out hanging not in plastic bags... so assuming they had to wash them all... no ice bucket to use... (stupid covid rule) though another hotel we could use the ice bucket...
The room was - WOW!! Amazing. We stayed in Room 424 and it was incredible. Super clean. The bed was way too cozy, and the couch - even being firm - was still cozy. Small bathroom but big enough that you dont feel squished. The staff was super friendly and the waffles were top charts! My only real issue is that it costs $20 to rent a kids movie that you only get to watch once, and to watch a TV show for 25 minutes is $15. Kinda ridiculous considering the price you pay for the room. Gotta knock a star off for the TV prices since that is way too much. My son just wanted to watch Coco with dinner.
We stayed here on August 07, 2016. The hotel receptionist Mr. Blake welcomed us with a smile and whole booking process was less than 3 minutes. The room was spacious, clean, organized and kids enjoyed swimming pool. The morning breakfast was good and had ample choices. I have no hesitation to give FIVE star rating.
Nice place, clean and friendly staff members. But remember, its a very family friendly hotel, which means a lot rooms are full of families with kids. You can hear the kids playing all day long, even the midnight. It also means a long line during breakfast. If you like quiet place, this hotel is not for you.
Nice Hyatt Place, the breakfast was good and the lobby looked to have been redone. The room I had however had a broken heater/thermostat where I couldnt adjust the temperature at all. The rooms you can tell are older though have been slightly updated. Always very clean !!!
Staff was very friendly at check-in and very accommodating. Room was nicely appointed and clean. Very nice. Wanted to have World of Hyatt # appended to reservation at check out, but front desk was unable to locate my reservation. I had just spent the night in room ### - not the end of the world.
A very mixed experience. We stayed there for 7 nights. The positive: rooms were clean and quiet, there is wifi and a breakfast buffet. The negative: twice the room was not cleaned up, once everything was missing (toilet paper, coffee, kleenex, towels), after six nights none of the bed sheets had been changed and we had to ask for a change. The breakfast food quality is marginal. On the sixth night somebody in another room was smoking with smoke drifting into the room through the bathroom vent, even though it is a no smoking hotel. The front staff are friendly but somewhat incompetent except the assistant manager. We got a one night refund for the troubles, but you have to make up your mind if you want to stay there.
Very disappointed with this hotel. We cancelled one night of our two night stay and they cancelled the wrong night and only had one room available for four of us. Room was small and we were crammed in the room. No room to move. They didnt even apologize for messing up our reservation. I this was a new hotel, I was wrong. The furniture is all scratched up, house keeping does not do a very good job dusting the room. I will probably never be staying at a Hyatt Place again. Not pleased.
We were allowed to enjoy our 2 great grandchildrens birthday in the lobby of this hotel. The 5 employees working this evening were amazing and accommodating. We were able to enjoy our family and they seemed to enjoy our family also. Our Granddaughter was allowed to drop the birthday cake off early so it could stay cold and Damon brought it out when we arrived.
There were a lot of things I liked about this place but there were some things I wasnt crazy about. The staff is super friendly and helpful. My room was really nice and comfortable; it was so big that I actually wondered if they somehow accidentally put me in a suite! There was a sleeping area with very comfortable beds and a big flat screen tv, but there was also a living room type area with a couch and a desk and sort of a mini kitchen with a fridge, big counter, coffee maker (with real mugs and not paper cups!), and a sink. But nothing to wash your mug with in that sink, so bring your own sponge I guess (?) and no microwave. Theres only one communal microwave in the breakfast area on the first floor and you might have to wait to use it because everyone in the hotel is sharing it.They have a small fitness center. Its nothing fancy but it served my needs just fine. There were a few treadmills, an elliptical and a rowing machine (I think) as well as a yoga mat and a handful of weights. They also provide free earbuds that you can use to watch TV on the machines. The breakfast was really good, too! They had hot and cold offerings which I loved. Every day they had some variation of eggs, roasted potatoes, and bacon served out of fancy Le Creuset dutch ovens, lots of fresh fruit, a few types of cereals, a wide variety of Tazo teas, etc. Not much in the way of pastries or bagels but they had a few types of bread with natural peanut butter and jelly. The hotel has a bar/restaurant and the food is delicious! But unfortunately its not staffed and the people at the front desk have to run it while also running the front desk. So if youre hungry or in a hurry you should definitely go somewhere else to eat. Otherwise youll have to sit and wait for the front desk employees to not be busy doing front desk stuff so you can order food. Its a terrible setup and I dont know why anyone thought it was a good idea to run it that way.So overall this place is great but there are a few changes they could stand to make that would make it fantastic.
I would rate this a 6/10. The tv in our room didnt work it was really pixely and it would fade in and out of sound. The two full sized beds seemed a bit smaller than an actual full sized bed and I didnt want to sleep in it with someone else because it seemed a bit cramped. The breakfast was really great though and everyone was kind to us. The room itself was very nice but there was no view. In a great area, very close to the outlet mall.
The room and hotel was beautiful and clean. The staff were also allowed us to check in early at no additional charge. The continental breakfast was amazing. My one issue is with some of the staff. After being told by two different staff members prior to our visit that we could reserve a ride on their shuttle service, we were told when we arrived that the hotel did not offer a shuttle service. That night, we came back from the concert at The Palace only to see a shuttle service running from the hotel to The Palace. After talking to management, however, we were given a discount on the cost of our room to compensate us for the money we had to pay for parking.
Our room was very noisy from the road (we were on the 5th floor) and did not stay warm on the side with the couch. The room was not very clean, there was cob webs and bugs by the heater. The shower did not have very good pressure and the shower head had black on it were the water comes out at like it hasnt been cleaned. The vents looked like they hadnt been cleaned in a month or two with all the dust clogged in them.
I love staying at this hotel because the staff is extremely friendly and the service is excellent. Not to mention I find myself traveling on business trips more and more with my wife and son and this hotel is very accommodating for that kind of situation, with large rooms and kitchenettes. They also serve Starbucks coffee and the breakfast is quite good in the morning. Theres also a small bar.
I stayed here for business travel on 9.12.17.The internet was down. My room smelled like smoke. Im an early riser and had questions about the gym. The front desk did not answer after repeated calls for half an hour. Toiletries were short. The carpet was dirty and sticky. Mold in the shower. Room 620.This Hyatt was twice the price of the Hilton property a 1/4 mile away.I would never ever stay here again.
Checked into our hotel room at 3, only to realize when we got in our room the electric was out.. was the front desk was well aware of this and told us it wouldnt be back until 5pm. We were never notified or given a discount option.Who wants to sit in a hotel with kids and no electricity.
They have great rooms, the service is splendid and the guest services is the best. The prices are great and there is a lot in walking distance. If you are staying in the Auburn Hills area in Michigan I highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are spotless and with tons of services including suggesting great restaurants (thanks Anthony for the great restaurant recommendation) and all the swimming and exercising I could ask for.
I choose to give Hyatt a One star rating for many reasons . Here is a list of just a few of my complaints and how they were poorly handled on my Two day stay during the Covid 19 Pandemic . Upon arrival I was not only left to wait 10 minutes for a representative, but only a handful of people were wearing masks . After checking in many minutes later I stumbled into my room first checking to see the cleanliness, then I find black debris in the bed , the carpet was dirty (clearly it wasn’t cleaned to covid standards ) , I then request a new room , they downgrade me and offer nothing . This hotel is a Joke . Not to mention I still haven’t received my deposit back that they decided to double upon arrival . STAY AWAY !!!
Half a star cant describe this. I had hair in my bed on my pillows! My bathroom floor was covered in long hairs. The carpet was old n stained. Motel 6 was probably in better shape and the one lady at the desk was just the rudest. I see why she works late nights. She is definitely not customer service material. No hi can I help you, welcome, nothing. Too busy on her phone.
Last week I had a brief stay here, and even in that short amount of time it has been the best hotel experience I have had. The desk manager that evening, Sharon, was incredibly friendly and went the extra mile and made me a grab bag when she heard I would miss the hot breakfast. Truly outstanding and friendly service all around.
Terrible room design...please know if you are coming with multiple people that the bathroom and sink area are right in front of the bed area. Sucks for the morning unless everyone plans to be up at once! This room would be fine for a single occupant, but if you are here with a spouse or family I would go somewhere else unless you all want to get up at the same time. The facility is fine...room is clean and modern. Staff was kind. The room design is just awful though. Awful!
Decided to try a nice hotel for a change just to see what is all about. Google maps showed me a price of about $160. Actual price was $189 plus taxes. Total $206. The place was nice and clean with modern furnishings and what not. But for the utility, I had hotels for $89 bucks that worked just as well
Our room was not very clean at all. The bathroom smelled like urine and the fan would whine really loudly. There was no hot water to take a shower. No towels at the pool - but we used the ones from our room since the shower was a no go! Food residue was on a number of places around the room and bits of leftover food on the floor. So disappointed because we had such a different experience than other reviews.
I can say that I have stayed at this hotel a few different times and up until this last trip, I have always enjoyed it. I will say that the pool closed down due to condoms floating in it. We didnt even get offered a discount like other area hotels provide. We traveled from a far distance and we had a ton of our Dance Company staying there. They ran out of food, juice, plates, forks in the morning. Almost like they didnt prepare for the amount of guest they scheduled. I accidentally left a very nice winter coat in the closet and upon calling they told me that the person who rented the room after me took it. I asked them if the room was cleaned before someone else came in and they stated well yeah I guess. I just feel as if it was very dishonest of them and makes me feel as if that location and hotel is untrustworthy. I tried calling the customer service number and all they would do was patch me back to the hotel and speak to the same girl I spoke to already, Rachelle! I get its my fault for leaving it, I really do but the effort to find it or figure out who cleaned my room was very slim
This is a great and a classic place to stay. The style in all ways remember me the late 70’s movies. The breakfast consist in a good variety of coffees, eggs, bacon, and fruits with yogurt and nice bread. It start at 6:30 AM.The people is nice and we had a great talking. It’s close to almost everything in the Auburn Hills near Rochester Hills area.
I would give this place 5 stars but their internet is abysmal. Visiting Amazon triggered a loading bar. I would suggest they skip on the cable channels and go with faster internet. Also there are a few things that have seen better days in the communal areas. The rooms themselves are great. Although I did have an extension cord under the night stand that didnt look too good. They could have used a multi plug adapter to achieve the same desired effect and keep things looking nice.
A bit hit or miss with the customer service and amenities. Ive stayed here for weeks at a time on business trips and sometimes its been good and other times not.Things I like:- The free breakfast is usually pretty good (same as all Hyatts)- The rooms are large and modern- The rooms all have a fridge and a couch , so its a genuinely nice place to hang out.Things they can improve on:- The WiFi is abysmal... forget streaming anything, its even difficult to check your email much of the time.- Breakfast frequently starts 10-15mins late, which is a problem when I need to get to work by 7AM.- Last week when I stayed here, Im pretty sure I got bedbugs - I woke up one morning completely covered in bites.- The staff is a mixed bag as well - some of the front desk staff work extremely hard and are very friendly and helpful (shoutout to Murph!), while others act like its an inconvenience to do the bare minimum like checking you in.- The room service is pretty subpar. I made the mistake of ordering a burger here once and it came both overcooked and cold (not sure how they managed that). Theres a McDonalds next door though :-/
My husband and I just stayed here for a friends wedding. We had such a positive experience I dont know where to begin. The hotel is very nicely decorated and extremely clean. Every staff member we encountered was out of this world friendly and polite! The rooms are nice and spacious and very comfortable. It was by far the best hotel weve ever stayed at.
Accommodations were excellent and clean with available and prompt services. Food was great and reasonable along with the very good complimentary breakfast menu that changed daily and the indoor pool was a great time saver for giving the children something to do and have fun.
This was a great choice for a quick getaway. The service was as good as Ive ever received at a Hyatt Place, the pool a refreshing dip with enough room to swim, and the room very spacious. The pizza I had was okay given hotel pricing, but since there was a big snowstorm, I was not going to venture out. The breakfast was very good, with a plethora of both hot and cold options. Its close enough to the main hotspots in Auburn Hills to be worth consideration for any trip there.
Room was pretty nice, clean.Fitness center is shown with dumbbells in the pics online, but does not have any. Treadmill is broken. As someone who try to stay in shape this was important to me, and I feel deceived by the online pics.I travel frequently for work and this is the first time I have encountered this
My parents stayed here but I went along before heading to my final destination; the room was quite nice and we had a good time visiting with friends in it for a couple of hours. The staff was very kind and accommodating; my sister was graduating and they happily stored her party balloons in an empty meeting room overnight.
Ordered the Romance package, promised champagne, cheesecake, cookies and Rose petals on the bed. I received none, but a bottle of Moscato and a small box of chocolates. The staff was very nice and refunded the Romance fee. Bedding and room were very clean and comfortable.
My wife and I were very pleased with the services the Auburn Hills Hyatt offered us for our wedding, especially the willingness to go the extra mile! We booked a block of rooms for the weekend and loved just about everything they offered. Guests appreciated the free shuttle service to our reception hall in Pontiac. The breakfast was clutch the next day. They included a nice honeymoon gift package for us in our room, and my wife loved the size of the adjoining rooms which she used for her and her girls to get ready the day of. On top of everything, they worked overtime the day before in order to get a wicked iced tea stain out of my dads clothes. From the accommodations to the personnel, we would highly recommend the Hyatt!!!
Rooms are clean and well kept plus the staff is friendly. The breakfast is the standard type with eggs, bacon or pancakes plus normal cereal options and fruit. It was fine. Nothing great but nothing bad. As for the wifi, it could be better. At 10:15 pm est, its 0.32 Mbps down and 1.91 Mbps up
Our room smelled like cigarette smoke and the rooms do not block out any sound screaming baby down the hall means being woken up all night only reason its getting two stars is the employees were super nice especially adam who greeted us every morning and genuinely cared about how we were doing. Other then that worst hotel ive ever stayed at. Adam and some of the other staff are the only reason it gets 3 stars.
Nice hotel perfect for our family 2 adults 2 kids. Spacious room nice pool there was only one downside and i dont think its anyones fault but there was only one elevator working so it felt like you had to wait FOREVER for the elevator abd then when it did come there was a chance you had to wait for the next time cause there was alot of families there. But what can you do on a weekend. And taking the stairs up to the 5th floor is difficult with small children but other then that it was great best hotel breakfast ive ever seen
My husband and I stayed in this hotel for a wedding. The hotel itself was nice and clean but the service and staff was subpar. At check in (I also did the online check in which was pointless) there was so much confusion because there was someone else staying in the hotel with the same last name as me. They front desk employees kept trying to give me two rooms for me and the other person with the same last name. That went on for about 15 minutes. Wasting my time and taking away my time to get to my room and get ready for the shuttle that was leaving promptly at 4:30.We made the shuttle to the venue, which was great. The shuttle to pick us up from the venue had two pick up times. 10:30pm and 11:30pm. We decided the 11:30 would work. At 11:30pm the wedding was over and the venue was closing. No shuttle arrived. The bride, groom, and a group of us were stuck outside in the rai waiting for the van to arrive. At 11:45 I called the hotel wondering where the driver was. They rudely told me they didnt know but I can call him if you want. 12am, still no shuttle. We called the hotel 2 more times and still got no help. Finally, after waiting for an hour, at 12:30am the shuttle showed up. Then the driver told us traffic was bad on the freeway so he had to take side streets back. So our 15 minute drive turned into a 25 minute drive. I decided to look at a traffic map to see what was going on and guess what!? No traffic on the freeway. So the drive wasted more of our time.We finally made it back to the hotel at 1am. At checkout in the morning, there was more confusion with the front desk. It took them another 15 minutes to figure out how to check me out because they double charged me.In the 18 hours we were at this hotel they wasted so much of our time due to poor communication and confusion. This hotel is too expensive to pay for failure on the employees end. I am disappointed in this place and will not be coming back.
Incredibly rude service desk. Moldy shower curtain, stained walls & couch, torn carpet, super loud a/c. We came in for a wedding and needed to check in slightly early (2pm instead of 3) and the girl at the desk first told us no way, then that there were no rooms available (the parking lot was nearly empty), then that it was because it was a king room & she couldnt change the reservation, then finally let us up to a double bed suite. Of course did not know that it was a suite or that there would be an upcharge, which we would have paid just to get into a room so we could get ready for this wedding. So basically, she could have said up front I dont have a king room available, but if youd like to upgrade to a double suite I will be happy to check you in right now and we would have had the exact same result. Instead she gave us endless attitude & made it unpleasant for no reason. We had to stay here because thats where the wedding shuttle was picking us up. If I had known we could have walked across the parking lot to Comfort Suites or across the street to a Crowne Plaza, I would have instantly done either. Anything would be better than this trash Hyatt.
We arrived at the hotel on 4/28/2018 around 5 p.m. for a one night stay, because my daughter had a dance competition the next day. Our dance team blocked rooms back in January & I booked a room with 2 double beds & a sleeper sofa on January 27th. On Sunday April 22nd I called to cancel Friday nights stay, I was told that it was no problem & they would see me on Saturday. Upon arrival after a 5 hour drive I was told that they cancelled the wrong night & gave my room away!! I was furious, especially when I was informed that they could only give me a king bed with sleeper sofa & it was plenty big enough for my family of 4. Im sorry but an 18 year old boy does not want to sleep on a sleeper sofa with his 12 year old sister!! The lady working the desk acted like it was no big deal & informed me that she couldnt just kick someone out of their room. But it was ok to give my room away!!! So needless to say we took the room (never offered us anything for their negligence & our inconvienence), we were not with our friends like we were suppose to be, & when we pulled the sleeper out we couldnt get over to the door! (Huge safety issue if there was an emergency) The picture shows an L shaped couch, it was not, our room was to have a tub & only had a shower. Pictures on the website must have been taken when the hotel was first built because the furniture is so worn out the finish is wearing off. Had to search for an ice machine because our floor did not have one! My daughter & her friends all went swimming & ended up with chemical burns!!! After the front desk asked for proof they shut the pool down, but offered nothing for our kids that are now in pain & have to perform with red marks all over them!!! The iciing on top of the cake was when I went to check out & found out that I was going to be charged for not showing up Friday night!!!! So to sum it up my families first trip to Michigan was a short miserable trip all because of a hotel that doesnt know what they are doing. Over the years my family & I have stayed many places in many different states & this was by far the worse. If we are ever back in Michigan I will definitely not stay here. Should have walked over to Comfort Suites.
We booked a 6 night stay here. It was me, my husband, and our 18 month old. All of the google reviews that i had read said that this place was great.. super clean.. and the staff was awesome. I GOT THE OPPOSITE EXPERIENCE! We were put on the first floor in the last room and after getting all settled i quickly realized that we had a problem. While getting unpacked i notice cob webs all over... i over looked that. I went to poor myself a drink in the mugs provided and realized they were both dirty.... i overlooked that. I went to give my son a shower and while washing him i noticed there were a bunch of long hairs laying on the other end of the shower floor that were not from us ... against my judgement i overlooked it. AND THEN we got into bed only to be greeted by a nasty brown toe nail from what im assuming belonged to the previous guest. Yeah that happened. the front desk switched our room (which was a huge hassle having an 18 month old and having packed and put away enough stuff to stay for a weeks stay) and offered us enough reward points for a free night stay. I am not a reward member so that was pointless and i did not want to stay any longer than was necessary. I declined. The second room was probably as good as it gets for this place. Looked clean but was actually dirty when you moved anything. They were out of coffee for most of our stay there and failed to accommodate me. So i had to buy myself a 4 dollar coffee everyday because the entire hotel was out of coffee lol. They claim to have a bar/ restaurant. That is a very long stretch. The morning breakfast selection was nice. For the most part the staff was rude and seriously creepy. My husband was actually creeped out by two of the men at the front desk too. That says a lot. So if the staff wasnt creepy they were rude. I am giving the hyatt place of auburn hills MI two stars and i think that is being very generous.
Omg!!! AMAZING!!! Our family stay at this location every Thanksgiving holiday. Mike, Damon (coach), Unique, and Rasheed and the rest of the staff were great okay all the staff here are awesome no problems or complaints about anything keep up the great work and we will see you all next year.
A group of girls stayed at Hiatt in Auburn hills on sat August 12. It was a very busy night and the staff was still happy and ready help any way they could from the people at the desk and the people doing breakfast. It was a very nice room and accommodated us 6 girls great. Thank you for a great stay! We will stay again!!
We had a wedding to attend and decided to stay at the hotel for the night. We requested early check in months ago and called days before our reservation to confirm the early check in. We were told early check in couldnt be confirmed but we would have no problem if we came early the day of our reservation. We go to check in early the day of our reservation. I was ok with the fact that the room was not ready, albeit dissapointed. However, I was not ok with how the woman working the front desk treated us. She essentially called us liars regarding our previous calls about early check in, and spoke to us like children, essentially telling us that we would likely be unable to check in before the wedding but too bad so sad. Not even an hour later, we called to check on our room and we were told a room had been held for us based upon our early check in requests and that it was ready. Incredible disconnect with the employees and incredibly rude first impression. Beyond our experience, we overheard the same woman speaking disrespectfully to other guests about other hotel ammenities. Hyatt may want to look in to retraining some of their staff in customer service.
One of my kids had to sleep on a pull out couch and the sheets were filthy and had holes in them. We called the front desk but had to wait 30 minutes for the lady at the front desk to take us off hold. It was very noisy my first night which made my family very hard to sleep. Even at 1 in the morning we had trouble sleeping because of all of the noisiness of the hotel. Our first morning here there was noisy staff at around 9 am which woke everyone up after not going to bed untill late. The hotel smelled like someone was doing marajuana which is very unhealthy for kids to breathe in. Walls are very thin which helps you hear everything going on outside your door. I did not like this hotel and will be looking for other hotels to stay at next time comming to Michigan.
Loved this hotel, will definitely stay here again if Im in the area.Everything was very clean, room rates were decent, hotel staff was very friendly, bar was open late, food service 24/7, great breakfast options, good amenities, and very quiet. Couldnt ask for much more for the price.
I had to travel to Troy with my four children - and without my husband - for some medical testing for my daughter. I can say that I was nervous - since I am from Northern Michigan and - to me - everything Flint and south is Detroit in my mind. I ended up booking a room here through Hotwire for an amazing price. The room was AMAZING. It was rated a 2 1/2 star by hotwire - but I can say the only hotel I visited that was nicer was the Drake in Chicago. We had a room with a double bed. There was a large sitting room with a massive L shaped sofa - that was very comfortable and soft. There was a desk in that area - a little bar area with a refrigerator and a coffee pot. There was a half wall between the sitting area and the bed room - where there were two very comfortable double beds. The sink was in the double bed area - the counter top was granite. The bathroom was a little small and the only real complaint I had about the room was that you couldnt turn the light on in the bathroom without turning the vent fan on - which was loud enough to scare my three year old twins. The staff was VERY friendly. They had a full breakfast - which we didnt take part in since we had to leave right when the breakfast was opening up (and one of my children was fasting for a test). It smelled wonderful though. We didnt swim in the pool - but we looked at it and it was crystal clear.I would happily stay there again.
The worse experience at a hotel on every level this past weekend. Hotel is worn. large stains throughout room. AC never worked., room never cleaned. Transportation through hotel was late and shuttle service for our daughters wedding was a bust. Was escorted out of hotel by police for noise violation as our guests said there goodbyes
It was a beautiful room good staff and the problem is because it didnt shiw on booking.com the pool was closed..it wasnmy freinds daughters 5th birthday and that was are selling point..yes corona is unfortunate..but some heads up would have not brought us here now we have a sad 5 year old
We stopped in the bar area for a drink. The bartenders were very polite but honestly shouldnt have been behind the bar. There was no knowledge on how to make any drinks and had to refer to a binder with instructions to mix a rum and coke. It took so long for us to get our drinks that a couple people in our group actually gave up on getting anything. We had one drink and left.
Went to a holiday party for work and made sure that colleagues got back to the hotel. I needed a ride back to the venue and my Lyft app said it would be 45-hour for a pickup (it was late). The desk manager, Terrell pulled up his Lyft and was able to get me a ride in 10. He even paid the fare since the driver struggled switching accounts. Its not every day that someone goes out of their way to make a travelers life a bit easier. The next time Im in town, I know where Im staying!
After nearly a decade of corporate training overseas at the highest levels of various international industries, my 5 night stay at the Hyatt Auburn Hills proved they are not.*My room key was given to an individual, no questions asked, who provided no name or no ID. Twice. I have a beautiful wife and a 2 year old daughter that Hyatt willingly put in danger due to their lack of security protocol or concern for their guests safety.*Due to various billing issues and a lack of staff knowledge on their various systems, Hyatt effectively froze $2,467.35 of my financial assets for a week (for a $900 bill) while they tried futilely to figure out what was going on.*Hyatt posted gains in 2016. Theyve earned these in part by cutting staff to a skeleton crew at unprofitable times of the day. Look forward to 30 minute waits (yes, I timed it) for drinks at the bar, as only 1-2 staff members are available to service the front desk, run the bar, handle calls down from occupied rooms, and cook the food as well. I saw individuals go behind the bar themselves to refresh their drinks and help themselves to food products for their trouble. New customers waiting for service at the desk were walking right out the front door in frustration.*Pete Sears, Group President of the Americas, sent me an email personally inviting me to share my concerns with him. Ive contacted Hyatt twice, and they are unwilling and unable to provide a response to the serious doubts raised regarding the safety, security and service their hotel provided me during my stay. Hyatt staff at Auburn Hills and Hyatt Corporate have not provided one apology, either in person or electronically, for the true danger they placed me and my family in that dreadful week. With a solid reputation in the hotel industry, Hyatt proves themselves undeserving of both it and your patronage. They do not grasp the balance between cutting costs and generating repeat business, and are willing to place you and your family in true danger to generate short term income. There are plenty of other hotels nearby; stay safe, and select one of them.
2nd night was worse than the 1st but because we booked through Hotwire we couldnt get comped our night or change hotels without losing money. Other guests were partying all night until 7am on two floors. Because the beds are right next to the door we got no sleep even after calling the front desk several times. This was my 1st stay at a Hyatt but i will never stay at one again.

2022-06-08Stayed for 5 nights with our robotics team to compete in a competition happening at Oakland university. Great service, very friendly employees. We used the meeting room a few times and it was nice. The pool is great but closes at 9pm which seems early. It appeared they had an air conditioning issue of the lobby while we were there but that really had no affect on our stay.

2021-12-20The staff here was excellent. When we arrived at the hotel the elevator were not working. We were supposed to be on the second floor, but the clerk saw I was with my older Aunties said there is a room on the first floor. She then showed it to us and we agreed it is just fine. The room had two Queen sizes beds and a sleeper sofa small sitting area refrigerator and a bathroom with a tub. There was a hot breakfast with your stay ever morning from 6am to 9am. With hot waffles scrambled eggs boiled eggs bacon fresh fruit beagles toast muffins yogurt cereal orange juice apple juice coffee and tea(of course that was a plus for us) For our stay it was great for us just only minutes from our relatives house and the mall as well. You know we always have to find a mall.

2022-05-07The stay was good but not the best. However, the key was not working and it gave us a hard time opening the door up. The breakfast options were good but when were coming down for breakfast, lots of people were coughing in the kitchen. In the rooms, there was no microwave (which was very inconvenient) the bathrooms were VERY small and the sink was outside the bathroom, the bedding was very hard and uncomfortable, and the bathroom shower also had bugs inside of it. Another downside of the hotel, is that the snacks were overpriced. The pool seemed outdated and there was not a hot tub or sauna.

2022-06-07Rooms were clean and comfortable. Front staff was extremely friendly and welcome. Came for a school trip with a lot of awkwardly large packages and they even let us use their meeting room to organize things.

2022-01-09The staff is phenomenal! Lakresha, Megan and Shuran are doing great work. I really feel bad for them though. Just being in the hotel you can tell that corporate is not giving them what they need to run the hotel efficiently. The 3 of them never stopped. Handling customer efficiently. Truly doing the best they could. Corporate really needs to step it up. They deserve to work for a company that takes care of its employees!

2022-03-20Charged 75.00 fee after lady said she wouldnt charge pet fee since we decided it was to much left the lobby took dog home . Never used any Door other then the front door . Manager wouldnt remove fee . Room was ok , breakfast was not the greatest . Pool was warm today people very loud to enjoy. Then pool broke in middle of stay . Also why on earth would you Install a furnace thats Designed for Florida and not for Michigan weather . Cold lobby not comfortable. They wanted to follow all kinds or procedures when asked about my refund , but they ran my card and told they arent suppose to because name wasnt impressed on the card . I was waiting for a temporary. Rules are rules if your not gonna follow them but when you want tooNever going back to Hyatt ever again

2021-11-20Customer service was fine. Everyone was friendly. The hotel is super old. From what the locals told me, it’s been here for many years. Apparently it has reputation for parties (and other rumors) since it is one of the cheaper hotels. I wish I would’ve known that ahead of time.Quiet hours are at 10pm, but even after calling in noise complaints I was told “I already spoke to a group” or “I understand the people are being loud but there are many parties today”. Then, they would reluctantly speak to the loud parties without issuing any warnings. I’m sure they were happy that they were getting business from such a large party. As someone who travels for business and needs to wake up early for flights, I just want to sleep to keep my sanity.I would not recommend coming here. Avoid it if you can. Since there is no bar or restaurant in the hotel, people with resort to partying in the halls. Also, i was told housekeeping would show up every 4 days. I was there for a month meaning housekeeping should have showed up at least 6-7 times. They only showed up two times; once because I asked for it and the second time because of pure luck.My coworkers all told me the Hilton was amazing. I’ll be making my reservations there from now on.

2021-12-28Positive: The manage, was amazing and did her very best to make this pit of a hotel more tolerable. Negative: No breakfast left an hour before close, no television, cable out our entire stay, no microwave, no hair dryer, filthy rooms, disgusting shower, unsafe grounds-approached by a drug addict, ppl slamming doors & running in halls screaming all night

2022-02-14Bathroom very small and room stayed cold throughout the day. But, clean and plenty of space. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff.
