IHOP in other cities:
Server wasnt friendly half of my husband breakfast took forever to come out, item I asked for was missing from my order (had to ask for it) and to top it off the high chair that I was given was disgusting!!! Its obvious they dont clean their high chairs. Second visit cause my niece wanted to go there. This time the sever was friendly. However, Way too much cheese on the pablo omelette, presentation was sloppy and my niece omelette was loaded with salt.
I tired for 20 mins to order online it kept saying that ihop was either closed or was not taking orders (10am in the morning) so I called the store and asked them if I could place an order she told me to do it online I told her I did and was trying to do that for 20 mins I tried placing it online 3 times. I asked her if she could just take the order over the phone she said nope we are receiving order online so you can either do it online or come to the store. I asked again can you just take the order she said no you can do it online or come in store. Well I will just take my money elsewhere.
We stopped here traveling back from up north. The fact that they were short staffed (very commen issue for restaurants) did not stop the two servers from making sure everyone in there was taken care of. We had a Wonderful Dinner & met two great people who worked there. Everyone in our party got breakfast items off the menu. Everything was made to order & tasted great.
Experiences vary from time to time. I had one of my best meals ever there once. When I went back with hoping to get the same type of service, on the same dish I was pretty disappointed. However I understand you cant always get the best---find out times youre just going to have exceptional service... But other times maybe its too busy for them to give that to everyone.
Is the dining room here ever open? The sign says 24 hours but Ive been here at least half a dozen times in the last 3 months and the doors are always locked. This morning I figured it was the best chance since it was 8an on Sunday morning. Doors were locked. What a joke. If youre not going to be open 24 hours at least post your open hours.
Went to the IHOP Comstock Park location and got A1 service, the place was clean and welcoming. I was helped by a young woman named Joy, who made sure my experience was pleasant and as comfortable as possible . Thanks guys I needed that it’s been a long few months. Peace oh and whoever made that cheeseburger deserves a raise that sandwich was delicious omg
The service was great but when it came to the food less than desirable, I ordered the big steak omelet it came with 3 pancakes there was barely any steak on it let alone in it matter of fact none in it at all and maybe a full table spoon full across the top plus they used ground steak looked more like ground beef the pancakes were cold and tough, the coffee was good though but for $13.not so much a good deal...my son ordered a bacon cheese burger which was super dry with burnt bacon and over cooked fries he needed a couple of sodas to get through his meal....I dont think we will be going back.
This restaurant is by far the least professional food establishment Ive ever had the displeasure of interacting with. After setting up an account online and downloading the app I noticed that this specific store had turned off its online ordering. Upon noticing this I decided to call the store and ask for a pickup order. The lady rudely stated that it should be working fine and that if I go back and check again I would notice that it was working. Not only did the online order still not work but the lady then started ignoring all of my calls for the past two days and I havent been able to get ahold of a soul. You may be a breakfast diner but neglecting your takeout customers only will result in loss of business. I just hope the owner of this establishment is aware of what has been transpiring at his restaurant. Being the only recognizable breakfast chain restaurant on Alpine I would hope that either your performance will improve, or your business be replaced.
Waitress obviously was having a rough day and was very short with us. My 2nd refill i asked for on my coffee she just slammed the carafe on the table. Food was cold by time she got around to getting it to. Table across from us was sat 10 mins after and was already eating.
Everything was closed or done serving breakfast at 10:45 today! First time going to IHOP, they were open and serving take out. Ordered there and 15 minutes later, had our food. It was fantastic! We ordered quite a bit... All was good, but I have to say the biscuits and gravy were my favorite!
DO NOT GO TO IHOP ITS A WASTE OF TIME! Went and stood in the waiting area for 10 minutes before someone got to us then told it would be a 10 minute wait we waited in our car and left after 30 minutes and at 40 minutes we got a notification that it was ready. As it was looked like some very unsatisfied customers inside and heard alot of grumbling about the service and shaking heads
I ordered an omelet only made with shelled eggs instead of their egg product that contains pancake batter. Not only was I charged the price of if my omelet came with pancakes and hash browns but it was so undercooked that I layer of egg white slime ran the length of the omelet. Completely disgusting!! When I told the server about it, they only took $2 off the price and no offer to recook the omelet correctly.
I usually love IHOP but I went to this location with my family for the first time and all of it was disappointing. The service was extremely slow and poor even though the place was dead and over packed with servers. It was not clean. The waiter spilled hot coffee all over the table in front of my father-in-law and baby. I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich with bacon and received a lukewarm sandwich with no bacon and hard cheese, I had maybe 10 fries on my plate but half were burnt and stale. My husbands lemonade was watered down to basically water with lemon in it. And everyone working the front of the house was filthy, their clothes and aprons were covered in food and crusty nastiness and they were serving people that way. Overall bad experience, especially after not being able to eat out for such a long time due to covid, would definitely never recommend this IHOP location.
I dont normally leave reviews for places like this, unless it was a really good or really bad experience, but, dont worry, this was good. But Ill keep it short and sweet.Dropped in the other day with my fiance and my friend, since this was one of the few restaurants open in the early hours. Establishment seemed very clean, which is surprising for a 24hr place. We were seated right away, our waitress was efficient, fast, and caring. She checked up on us, made sure our food was good, drinks were topped off, all in great timing. Also, the food was great. Fiance had Monte Cristo, I had the Chorizo Omelette. Thumbs up to the kitchen.Overall, a great experience.I might come back when rolling through for breakfast. Thank You!
Went here for lunch with idea of getting breakfast food. I was enticed enough by the crispy chicken sandwich too order that as it looked really good! When the waitress brought the food to my table it was a burger instead of the crispy chicken that I originally wanted. She apologized and had them remake it. After about 10 minutes of waiting she brought me what she thought was the right thing that I ordered, but It ended up being a grilled chicken sandwich instead of a crispy chicken. I told her that was fine and ate it anyway. The grilled chicken ended being extremely slimy, gross and chewy. I felt sick after I ate it. Should of just ordered breakfast.
Would give zero stars if possible this is the second random Sunday I confirmed in advance the place would be open at 7am yet isnt when we arrive.Literally checked yesterday and confirmed yes - 6am. We get here and its closed...again. Even this Google page says hours were updated 5 days ago by the business but here we are.
This was horrible. We had the chef taking our order for us. I ordered a milkshake when we first got there and never got it. We were ignored the whole time. I asked for ketchup and never got it. The people behind us asked for creamer and never got it. So we just added up our total, left it on the table, and left. Yes, it was that bad. There was one chef, and one waitress.
Horrible service. They really deserve 0 stars. Not busy at all yet we waIted 40 minutes for our food to only get part of our order. The waitress said she would bring the rest out but she never came back to our table, she only had 2 tables. We finished eating and continued to sit there for 10 minutes when she finally brought the bill. In the meantime we overheard another waitress tell her table the cooks were fast tonight so I cant figure out why our food took so long yet our plates were burning hot so that tells me the plates sat under the lights too long. We never did get the rest of our food and she never even asked how our meal was. This is not the first time I have had poor service at the alpine location and I will not go be going back there.
Usually IHOP isnt too bad, but this last time we visited it was awful. The food was over done, like itd been left under the heating lamps too long, the server forgot half the side dishes and they werent even that busy. Ive worked as a server before, so Im usually very patent because I understand what its like during busy times and to be in the weeds, but this visit wasnt like that. The server had about six tables max, and three either already had their food or were just finishing eating, waiting on their check. The other two tables had been sat after ours. I felt like because wed come in with a group of kids that she really didnt want to serve us. Im also in the service industry, and I tip amazingly well, usually 25-30% or more if the service is excellent, but today she got the bare minimum of 10%, because the service was that bad. Im not expecting to be exclusively catered to, but our table was ignored most of our visit. She only came back to our table to give us the check, never once asking how the food was or offering to refill our drinks. Im glad I had the foresight to ask for water in advance.
My mom and I walked in and waited to be sat, there wasn’t a sign saying to wait to be seated or to seat yourself so we patiently waited to be sat. We waited for a decent amount of time, one waitress in particular made eye contact with us 3 times while she bussed and wiped a table but said nothing. Two other groups of people came in behind us and were also waiting. The server kept wiping different tables, ignoring us. She could’ve come up and told us it was seat yourself, or said she would get someone else to seat us. But we waited, it was a good few minutes of servers just walking by us and doing nothing. We left and went to Russ’ instead for breakfast. Very disappointed.
Our food took an hour and 30 minutes to arrive. Our waitress took 30 minutes to take our order once we were seated. Once served, our food was good, but it was overshadowed by watching others who arrived after our 3 person party get their food a half an hour before we got ours. We wont eat here again.
Had a typical Ihop breakfast. Pancakes, eggs, bacon and hashbrowns. Yummy. But I have 2 complaints. The first being that the hostess had no idea really about the msg system they are using to seat people. The msg would be released to come in for your table and it wouldnt be ready. Happened to 2 other parties also. My othercomplaint was the bathroom. Come on people keep the rest rooms up and stocked. Its easy to put up a sanitation check list but can we actually be truthful with how its answered?Food and waiter were fine.
Came today and had to wait a bit to be seated. They were obviously understaffed so either wait or leave. 🤷♀️ My server was still friendly and accommodating and brought me my order and only a brief wait for refill. No complaints about my order. If you want someone to cook and cater to you, your group, or whatever then you have to be patient. Its not the servers fault they are understaffed.
The waitress wasnt good at her job. No eye contact, walked behind me to another table while asking me questions. Forgot to bring silverware for my husband and then she only brought him a fork and napkin. Never asked how is or was everything and another server had to take her my payment for us to get out of there. Just poor customer service skills. On plus the reason I gave 4 Stars the food was cooked right and tasted great. So the cook or cooks get my 4 Stars.
The food was good, but half of our group only got half of what we ordered. Our server wasnt very attentive, but she was kind. The table was sticky. We called ahead to make reservations for our group of ten, though it didnt seem necessary since the restaurant was completely empty at 6:30pm. The service would have been more understandable if had come when they were packed.
Long service time but the food is definitely worth the wait! As long as its still hot that is :/ they are always busy and the service takes a toll but we have never had a negative experience. Its been so so at times though. A variety of syrups make any trip, even if you just get pancakes, a new experience.
Weve been here before. Probably wont be going back. First thing after we got seated, our waitress asked if wed like coffee, but, added they were out of the flavored creamer we wanted. Which wasnt a big deal except the fact that when the table across from us got seated, they were offered the same thing and got the creamer we had requested. When we asked our waitress about it, she got short with us and said once again, they were out of it.When our food showed up, we asked for hot syrup like we always get at IHOP. It came out in two tiny souffle cups it was really thick, like it got burnt, and tasted terrible. When we asked to speak to the manager about things, he/she never came by, our waitress came over and offered a new pancake and a new cup of hot syrup. She did a good job. I just think its the store itself, meaning poor leadership. The bathrooms were a mess and we heard one employee say something about doing really good job of cleaning because they were going to have an inspection in the morning! REALLY!? The store should ALWAYS be cleaned like you are going to have an inspection the next day!
The waitress was very nice and did what she could, I was told the cook was having a bad day, food was 45 minutes coming out (another table left) part was cold, some was burnt. We just ate and headed out, took to long to consider complaining and we were concerned with an unhappy cook remaking our food.
Havent been here in a while. The place was slow but customer still seemed to not get seated right away. The waitress was new which she made sure to mention and then proceeded to tell us more than a fair share of personal information. Not to sound like a Seinfeld episode but how much information should a waitress tell their table before its like slightly uncomfortable. Although I would go back to follow up on career growth.
Went here at 4am to be greeted by the only waitress working who was smoking right next to the entrance with a friend. Walked in to wait 5 to 8 minutes for her to finish her cigarette and seat us. She apologized saying that she has to get her breaks when she can. Inside there were many tables left dirty with dishes stacked up. We sat down and got our order in. The waitress then sat down with the same guy from outside while waiting for our order to cook not bothering to clean up anything in the restaurant. Once our food came she went to one table and stacked the dirty dishes from one of the tables but then went and aat back down with her friend. In the 45 50 minutes we spent there she literally bussed one table and basically spent the rest of the time sitting at the same table with her friend. Once our food was nearly gone she brought our bill and we waited another 5 to 10 minutes for her to come get our payment. It seems that being we were the only people there she would utilize that time to clean up the rest of the restaurant and get caught up but that did not seem to be important. Very poor service and little concern for the only table dining at the time. Definitely not how i would expect to see an establishment at 4am.
Candy, the waitress was outstanding! Always smiling. Excellent customer service despite being the only waitress with the restaurant extremely busy. Cook was outstanding as well! After we received our great meals, he came out and asked customers how everything was. Also, excellent customer service.
When ordering, it wasn’t until finished ordering that it was brought to our attention that they were out of hash browns (12pm on a Tuesday). The table next to us was then told a few minutes later that they didn’t have a product that goes with their meal either. Food that was then ordered was good, but we had to ask for water glass to get filled when emptied and when it was filled there was a floaty in the glass. Good food, mediocre service and preparation for expected service.
I have wanted to come to Ihop for so long and finally we had a little extra money so we decided to treat ourselves. The TV commercials are enticing.I have to say the person who greeted us and seated us lacked quite a bit of Welcome. I dont think she wanted to be there. After being seated we had a very nice, attentive waitress. Wish I could remember her name, she was great. She brought coffee and cream to us,my husband and me, immediately. We ordered and we knew what the prices were but as a treat we didnt mind as long as we enjoyed. My husband ordered the pancakes, eggs. Hash browns and three meats platter. He was hungry. We had an appt that took longer than expected so we missed breakfast and lunch. I ordered eggs, 2 pancakes and bacon with a side of a biscuit and gravy. Well the food was sub par. My husbands hash browns had no flavor but the oil or grease they were fried in. The eggs were ok and my bacon was good. The pancakes were kind of tough and could not cut with just a fork. But the biscuit and gravy was not edible. The gravy was tasteless and had the consistency of wallpaper paste. This made me sad because that would have been quite a treat for me.But what made me even sadder is that we paid $27 and a $5 tip and it is just a joke now. So disappointed and we paid for it. Like I said our waitress gets a star but the food needs a lot to be desired. Sorry!!!
Was supposed to be a 25 minute wait turned to be over an hour long wait. Finally got seated. Waitress was sweet and handled our big group well and was great with the kids. Had our orders right as well. But our food took almost an hour to come out. So mind you we have been in ihop for 2 hours waiting to be seated as well as our food to come out. Then it took way too long just to get a check. They didnt split it up and we decided to go up front and split it up so we can pay and get out quicker. My brother and his girlfriend paid but when it came to ours their computers kept crashing. A lot of time has passed until my brother and I spoke up about how long this was taking and we have been in there for 3 hours. Manager came across very rude. I get that its been a hectic day and things arent going well but for speaking to me and my family the way she did is very unacceptable. I suggest more staff and to reevaluate how you come across to your paying, respectful customers. And become better at organizing. Thanks for the free food.
We went there on July 29th which was a Wednesday. The service was great, the restaurant was clean, and we got our food in a timely manner. Our server was Bobbi and she was very polite. At this time everything is so crazy with all the Covid-19 it was nice to go somewhere that was doing a good job. Huge shout out to this Ihop and their server Bobbi!
Sitting here waiting for our food for over 30 minutes. There are maybe 10 tables full right now. The satff is bickering and being completely unprofessional. Our waitress hasnt come back once to check on our drinks or explain the wait. And Im sitting here watching her hand write our order for the cook like theres a malfunction with the computer but she took our order 30 minutes ago..... Now shes going to sing Happy birthday to another customer rather than explain to us why our order just reached the cook.
Went this morning, both my husband and I ordered pancakes. My pancakes were not even done all the way. The waitress we had was standing around talking with her friends the whole time, our bill came to $30 and some change and when we got home I looked on my card and she took more then my bill was, decided to give herself a tip I went to talk to the manager who basically told me they cant do anything. I definitely wont be going back.
Normally when you think of a highly successful food chain such as IHOP , you would suggest that they are amazing, but the last 4 or 5 times we have been here to the one in Comstock Park . It had taken 40 minutes to get our food on a Saturday early morning and this most recent time we waited 34 minutes for our food and didn’t receive it. After talking to the manager Jadea , she told us she was going to check for our food, nothing more and we asked politely “well if we wait for our food, will you discount or comp our food and she said I will not be doing either” therefore we left. What a terrible experience.
Went to IHOP for a late night treat, and it quickly turned into something really awkward. When i walked no one was there to greet the two people ahead of me and my friend. They were already looking around for a server or a manager to come seat us properly. Still, we waited for at least 6 minutes to be sat. This should’ve been the time i turned around. The cook comes out the back to seat us and very shortly the waiter comes out of the men’s bathroom. Confused, i still sat down. Needless to say the food wasn’t appetizing at all. Everything was drowned in grease. I couldn’t stand to finish my meal. I began to pay more attention to the decor in the building and i started to notice dirty walls and other tables were covered in caked up, & old syrup This will definitely change my whole view on IHOP as a whole! Truly disappointed and you’ve lost a guest forever.
My wife and I ordered take out yesterday. My wife went to pick up the food for us and it was not ready for a half an hour until after we were told to arrive. It was a slower morning and not that many people there. Completely unacceptable for a pick up order to be a half an hour late. When my wife brought the food back to our place, we opened up and realized that literally everything was wrong with our food. I had ordered an omelet with cheese, bacon, and ham. There was literally nothing in the omelet. It was just a bunch of egg. I dont mean there was hardly any bacon, ham, or cheese. I mean there was nothing in the omelet. I ordered hash browns as a side. Did not receive the hash browns. My wife ordered four pieces of bacon as her side of meat and instead received ham and sausage. When we called back to talk to the manager, Danielle, she told us there was nothing she could do except drive back up to get food back. She said that she did not have permission to give us a refund for the food. This is an absolutely TERRIBLE way to treat customers. Not only was the food a half an hour late, it was completely not what we ordered and were not given a refund. We wasted $20 and an hour of our life. Ended up throwing the food away and making our own food. Worst customer service experience I have ever had in my entire life.
They have their doors locked as the dining room is closed (everywhere online says their dining room is open). I am unable to place an order online and it keeps rerouting me to Detroit?? Ive been calling their phone for 15 minutes with no answer. Very upset about the inconvenience and will not be coming back again. This is not the first time this has happened to me in the past few months in this location.
Absolutely amazing!!!! We had candy as our waitress and she was very polite yet funny really seemed like she knew what she was doing! The food was amazing considering it was my very first time ever at ihop! And the hot chocolate omg to dieeeee for 😍 I definitely recommend this place plus the decor is very inviting and the bathrooms were very clean!!!
We were there on Sat night 3/14/20, about 8:00. There was one cook and one waitress working. That was it for the whole restaurant. I want to let you know that they did an AWESOME job. I think they should be acknowledged for going above and beyond their duties. It took a little longer than usual, but because of their dedication we will be back. Thanks for listening.Elaine Bowen. This was at your Alpine Ave.store in Grand Rapids Michigan.
Was seated and no one ever showed up to take our drinks and orders. There were 2 other families seated next to us (only other patrons in the restaurant) who had service but the waitress never stopped at our table. Needless to say after waiting a half an hour, we went to Bob Evans, where we were seated and waited on almost instantly. I loved the service we recieved at Bob Evans.
The manager came out to my car to tell me my carry-out order was ready. When I told her I hadnt ordered yet...she took my order...right there through the car window. When I finally finished my phone call my food was ready. She was even appreciative regarding the tip.Hows that for good customer service?!?!
Worst experience by far. Went because my daughter likes the chocolate pancake. Waiter was unattentive. Screwed up the order, forgot the bacon, couldnt get his attention or anyone elses, no refills, no napkins, no service. He finally stopped by to drop the bill but left quickly and I was not able to ask for anything. When I went to pay I stood there for 15 minutes, told repeatedly someone would be with me soon. Im not one to dine and dash but I was staring to think they didnt want my money. Finally the waiter showed up, cashed me out and said, I understand if you dont leave a tip. I still did but will never go back. :(
Sat at a booth for 15 min with no waiter in sight, had to go back to the hostess to ask for someone to acknowledge us. When our order was finally taken, the food was brought quickly but only half of it, most of us had our food half gone before my son received his french toast. Food was good, but the service was completely awful.
November 15, 2019. 8:22 pm. I had a great experience. My server Alex was very sweet and nice. The African American woman (I assume the manager, also didn’t catch her name) was also very sweet I would invite both of them to my families thanksgiving if they weren’t busy. I got the churro pancakes, a bit too rich for me but that was my fault. If I could give 10 stars to this establishment I would. 10/5 would recommend.
They do nice breakfasts, especially basics like the pancakes and egg dishes. Lunch/dinner not so good. I ordered a pot roast that was literally just the fat off the beef paired with undercooked veg and cold gravy. Another time tried chicken fried steak and again it was horrible. My mum ordered avocado added to her hamburger, was charged $2.99 and received one slice of avocado the size of a lemon wedge. The waiters can be really rude and actually nasty to your face if you complain. However one lovely waitress gave us a free dessert and free IHOP mugs for the long wait. Hit and miss. Ill go back for breakfast but never after 11am.
We visited Thursday 2-28 at about noon. The waitress was very forgetful...coffee but no spoon or creamer. About half way through our lunch our waitress decided to clean the table right next to ours. She sprayed the table with cleaner that created a cloud of mist that landed on our table. I stopped eating and drinking my coffee. I did ask her to please quit spraying as it was being sprayed in our direction. She didnt charge for our drinks as an apology but at that point the food was tainted as well. I am only posting this as a learning tool...dont spray cleaners in the dining room when customers are eating close by. I have a serious intestinal issues and chose not to take a chance by eating or drinking anything I know has a mist of cleaner on/in it.
Waited over 45 minutes just to get just about all of our food messed up. The “manager” Camry was extremely rude and kept saying she was going to call the police because I was “being mean” when in reality was just trying to explain what was wrong. Our server seemed as if she had no experience whatsoever and couldn’t even do much as bring a refill when my cup was empty. VERY unsatisfied with this restaurant and more than likely will not be going EVER again. The only upside is that another waitress Eric was the only pleasant part of trip, he actually apologized for the other server and the manager after they must have felt they way they treat customers was acceptable
The food and service were excellent BUT, the womens bathroom was horrible. A woman came out of it and told a waitress something. She did not do or tell anyone about it. Because I have an hour drive home, I went in about 20 minutes after the waitress was alerted, expecting a small problem. It was so bad that I walked back out immediately. We informed our server that it needed immedate attention. We will not revisit this locaton. When we are in Grand Rapids, we often stopped there.
Do NOT go to this location on Alpine. You will get sat, place your order, and will wait more than 30 minutes for your food...for the managers (Jadea) solution to be Ill check on your food for you. No offer of a discount or comp. She made excuses for why the wait was long (which meant nothing due to others being sat after us and receiving their food before us...mind you...only a party of 2!!) We never got our food so we left without eating (& waitress never acknowledged our unreasonably LONG wait either!) Definitely not a good way to keep customers. And IHOP is NOT worth a 30 min wait for food. And definitely not worth a manager not caring about making it right for the customer. Manager did Not care that we walked out. They will definitely never get my business again and I will tell everyone I know to avoid the Alpine location at all costs!!
Got curbside today. Called 3 times no answer. So I went inside the front door to get service. I got strawberry banana French toast, except there was no bananas. Also we got 2 tiny syrups for 2 pancakes and 3 pieces of French toast. Come on IHOP I know you can do better. 😔
Worst service ever. My friend had to go find someone to get us drinks after waiting for 10 minutes. We had 2 other servers before our actual server came over. My eggs were lukewarm, at best when I got them. I finished my eggs and bacon before my pancakes got there. They were almost cold. Then when paying our waiter short changed my friends.
Took forever to get our food and when it came out one of our meals was completely wrong. They did take that off our bill and offered to fix it but it would have taken too long to wait with two small children so one of us left hungry. Our waitor was total accommodating though.
Visiting from IL so we stopped to eat around noon (2 people) so it was BUSY. Didnt wait long to get a table but waited a while for food; Gomezs omelette and Italian cannolis. The pancakes were good but the omelette needed some seasoning. Our server, Jess, was great! Very nice and attentive inspite of the rush. Def a location we know we can to back to next time
Arrived to several wait staff looking at us at check in to be seated. Waited a few minutes before being seated. Very slow inside and had to stand next to a perfectly clean table to wait for one to be cleaned. To make it worse, we watched a waiter come and go and not even acknowledge us. Took 20 min before order could be placed. Terrible service.
It was really slow when my family and I went, so we figured with it being so dead our service would be awesome and quick. But, that wasnt the case. Not only that the area we were seated in felt as if the air was on, and it was quite chilly. Another couple also felt it was too cold in our area. Other than them it was just us in that area.
Id give this restaurant a zero if allowed. The facility was filthy.. everything from the floors, woodwork, syrup caddy, menus, tables. I ordered myself and my kiddos breakfast. My youngest (almost 2) was given extremely cold food, pancake had zero flavor and literally flaked apart. I finally got a hold of our server and the manager was called over. I dont normally complain (server through college at Applebees), but I couldnt even eat my food I was so disgusted. When I went to lift up the regular syrup for my daughters pancakes, I couldnt because it was literally stuck to the caddy. I had one bite of my food and I couldnt eat anymore. My daughter would not make it through a remake of food. So, I asked for the manager to just take off her food. The manager was very nice, but only took off my daughters iced food. I left and went to McDonalds for an oatmeal and burritos for my girls. Never again will I step foot in this disgustingly filthy establishment they claim to be a restaurant.
If I could give this place a negative star I would. I went there around 720 am the doors were locked. So I called asking when there were going to open the young lady over the phone I dont know i asked what did she mean she didnt know how do you not know your hours of operation she then said we just might mot open today who knows after hanging up and going to starbucks for food on the way back 10 mins later they were open. I called back asking what had changed she said yeah we decided to open now. I have gone to I hop many times great food but i will never go to this one again .
Just visit this location food was perfect no issues our waitress was the best she was real nice everything was amazing she did offer more drinks coffee she made us feel welcome so if you are thinking on going here ask for Rebecca you wont be disappointed she deserves 5 stars as well ✨
Where do I start. Staffing needs to address to this location big time. It wasnt even as busy as a sunday that its usually is. Told it will be 25 minutes to be seating. Turn to close to a hour. We get seated then a other hour for food to come out. The person that took the order was the only good about this place. She knew how to handle the kids orders and got our orders right. So we were close to the 3 hour mark due to the computer shutting down when it came to pay. We were getting mad.At this point the kids are done being good. We just want to leave like we should have. But knowing how sundays go when you have the group that we had it probably being a other issue. Please fix this place I use to love going to ihop years ago now it seems like no one wants to work or make sure the guests are being taken care of.Thanks for wasting my Sunday. Only day off and was spend in this place waiting.
Went to this restaurant and expected to enjoy some delicious pancakes. Was excited about being with the family. After 30 minutes we asked our waiter if our food was coming. He told us we were behind 3 other tickets. About an hour later we finally received our food except for mine and some one elses. After asking me multiple times what I have ordered he went back. After another 30 minutes I decided to get up and go to jimmy johns next door. The waiter Marshall was rude and rolled his eyes at us. Very bad experience.
I will never go back here! We waited at least 15 minutes for a waitress to come to our table. Then waited a good 30 minutes for the food to come out and we were the only ones in the restaurant. To top it off we sat there another 30 minutes or so waiting on the bill. What a joke!
This is a great place thats open 24 hours a day. If youre looking for a good place and youre hungry, recommend stopping here. The staff is very friendly, and the restaurant is very clean, however the prices are a touch high especially for a large family, I am giving it four stars because it is very clean and the staff is friendly however, twice now we have went there for the unlimited fries and every time they bring us out new fries its a very minimal amount which makes us ask for more and more instead of just bringing us out more than a handful at a time, especially when we said were going to be asking for more, this did not seem like the waitresses problem, the seem like more of a company policy.
I love IHOP. I go every Friday. This was my first time at this location. The food was terrible. My eggs were undercooked. The service was horrible. People at the front counter lined up to the door waiting to cash out. I will NEVER eat at this IHOP again. And I hope I dont get food poisoning for raw eggs.
Go to Beltline instead if you can. Horrible customer service here.. and they need to stop curbside pickup during this time. (Covid19)Wait was over the top. Waited over two hrs after order was placed never received order had to cancel in which I got hung up in my face. So rude!.... the girl working today need re training for her customer service. I will never return even after re-opening. People are losing jobs and yet she is VERY RUDE. Sunday afternoon shift. Mothers Day.
I went there today for some breakfast food. After walking behind the waitress aimlessly trying to find a table in an empty restaurant we sat down. My friend received some parts of the platter wrong and the waitress asked to have the ham back. Reusing food in a restaurant should never come across a coustmers mind, but it is now.
Bad service right from the start , brings out our food my boyfriends country fried steak had no gravy & was way over done. my pancakes were ok, I asked for loaded hash browns specifying that I only wanted bacon & cheese on them told the waitress twice. she still brings out plain hash browns. I told her again that I wanted loaded & she brings a new plate out & they were so hard & cheese was stuck to the plate. as if it was jus thrown in a microwave , & not one time did she ask how we were doing once we have gotten our food & it took 15 minutes if not linger for her to bring the check.
Allison was our waiter, no straws, dirty cups and when ordering our food she ask if we want this on our eggs and didnt say it was an extra charge. The rest of our meal she never checked on us, we didnt get anymore drink to finish our meals. She came by with the check half way through our meal and didnt even ask if we wanted more unlimited pancakes. With the check on our table she kept coming.back to pause.and look if we were ready to pay causing us to rush and feeling as if we were a burden.
Terrible experience! Eggs were undercooked and it took a long time for our food. Then only half of our meals came out, meaning some of us had to wait 10 minutes for our sides that went with the meal. By the time we got our complete meal, it was cold. The waiter or manager did not even apologize when I brought it to their attention.
They seem to mess up our order every single time. We had to have our order redone 3 times in order to finally get the right food. I called to check on a different order recently and the lady I spoke to said it would be ready in 10 minutes and when I confirmed that with her she said well I dont really know when it will be ready. Terrible customer service and you cant even order off the website because it messes up every time. Please address your issues.
I came here with my family right before the peak time. We waited 45 minutes for our food which came out one meal at a time. The first person was finished with their meal before the last person received theirs. 5 out of the 6 meals were incorrect and /or missing the sides. There was no manager in site the entire meal. The server was friendly but I am pretty sure she forgot to put our order in. Some of the surrounding tables , who were sat after us, were funished before we had our meals. My first and last time going to IHOP.
I don’t know why I ever return to this location. The service is always garbage, both food and hospitality!!! Very rude people and severely over AND under cooked EGGS. One set of scrambled is leaking white goo and the other fried is brown. The server stopped by 3x in the hour and a half we were there. We were made to wait for almost 20 minutes when 3/4 of the tables were empty, should’ve known to leave then.
This IHOP (on Alpine Street) sucks. Very slow service. It takes a long time to get a table. Once you have a table then you wait a long time for someone to take your order. Then you wait on your order. Then you wait for the bill. I spent 1 1/2 hours there total. This is ridiculous for one person. I also felt that their pancakes were nowhere near as big as they should have been or nowhere near as good as I expected them to be.
Worst IHOP ever. Order is never right, food has been cold or simply just not cooked to order. Not to mention some of the waitresses are unaware that part of their job is to check on the customer even AFTER youve delivered them their food. I avoid this location at all cost. In fact, I stopped going to ALL IHOP locations because of how terrible my experiences continued to be at this one.
Im new to 3rd shift, so Im looking for a place I can eat dinner food at 7 AM. I went to Steak n Shake yesterday. There is no comparison as to who has the better burger. SnS dry burger and melted shake and service was a guy sitting with his phone. IHOP juicy big burger you have to cut to eat. Servers doing their jobs taking care of their customers. Ill be back.
We ordered rise and shine for seniors.the hash browns were over done, and the toast had hardly no butter on it. My husband and I both have about 5 teeth and we were barely able to chew what we got. The bathroom ( womans) was dirty. We were in GR. Mi. Wouldnt go there again.
If you want to eat here you are better off eating in or you win NOT GET ANYTHING YOU ORDER! Their solution is waste more of your gas to correct what should have been right the first time.. From now on, Ill drive a little longer to get better food from somewhere else.
My fiance and I went in at about 11. We gave the host our name and sat down. He said it would be about 15 minutes before we were sat, which was no problem. Except I think he mustve skipped over us, because 3 people who were behind us got sat before us. After the 4th person behind us was called before us, we walked out. We spent a total amount of 30 minutes there. Would consider going again, but not if its like that all the time.
It was horrible, we waited almost an hour for our food which was wrong when it finally came out. The toast was still soft like it had only sat under a warming light instead of put in a toaster. The scrambled eggs didnt taste like eggs and was told by our server they actually mix in pancake batter with them!! You have to ask for REAL EGGS otherwise you get pancake eggs!! The bacon was hard and had poor flavor, the red potatoes were deep fried so they tasted like hot oil puffs. Instead of comping anything they gave a 20% coupon on our total bill. We have stopped here for breakfast many times over the last 10 years or so but this is by far the worst visit and will most likely be our last.
The last two times weve been there we had to wait 10 min before anyone took our drink order and forever for our meals . Yesterday we sat there for 50 minutes before our food came. It wasnt even busy and they had plenty of staff standing around. This will be my last visit.
My family had a BAD experience here today. Most of the restaraunt was empty. We waited more than 25 minutes while 4 other parties were seated ahead of us. When we questioned the hostess she was very rude. We left and went to Dennys. Dennys was great! IHOP YOU REALLY LET US DOWN!
Absolutely horrible. I had ordered online for curbside pick up. My order went thru and my pick up time was at 620 pm. So i waited untill 630 pm . I get an email saying my order was canceled and i would be refunded . Never got refunded. Would be nice to know why my ordered got canceled before i drove all the way their.
I had never called in an order to IHOP until the other day when I was craving an omelette but didnt really have time to sit down and wait for it. The food was ready when we got there and delicious. Now that I know you can order like this from IHOP, I may get delicious omelettes more often.
Understaffed. We waited 15 mins nefore we were even offered a beverage. Another 10 mins before a waitress came over and asked if we had been waited on. As other servers were walked by us etc... I guess the looks on our faces grabbed this waitress that finally did stop to ask. I told her we were thinking of leaving if this is what we had to look forward to; as far as service.
Food is great!!!! But i mean when i put in a order for fries please stop giving me a baby amount, i know when i dine in i dont get a baby amount but for sum reason every time i do pick up you guys only give like a little and i mean a LITTLE amount of fries.... I dont get it....
We waited 45 minutes for food for four people. The bathrooms were disgusting (poop on the floor AND they were notified TWO times before they cleaned it) and were out of toilet paper and paper towel. It was very disappointing, and we werent the only unhappy customers (the tables around us were complaining about the wait and dirty bathrooms).
Dont waste your time. Walked in and stood waiting to be seated for 15 minutes when there wasnt even a wait list. There were 4 servers/waitresses standing around looking at all the parties standing at the door with no effort made to seat us. Needless to say, my family and I and at least two other parties walked out. We went across the street to Applebees and got seated immediately after stepping foot in the restaurant and had excellent service. I guess Applebees doesnt like seeing money walk out their door like IHOP.
The establishment is fairly clean and well kept up. The staff are really friendly and the best part is being able to eat at any time you want. I went here with a small group of people late at night and the service was great and so was the food. Only bad thing Id say is the food is a bit expensive for what it is.
Had a 20 minute wait @ midnight when there were at minimum 10 tables open (only a party of 2), then we were given a broken coffee pitcher that leaked all over the table (which we were overcharged for). Following that, we were served pancakes that were not fully cooked. Both me & my friend had an excessive amount of uncooked batter in our pancakes to the point where it was sickening. Then, to top it all off - the employee checking us out didnt know how to operate the register to split the check. Fabulous evening. 10/10 would NOT recommend. Try one of the other IHOPs in the area.
Since the recent Grand Re-Opening everything about my experiences here have left a lot to be desired. Not only did the remodel make tbe atmosphere here much darker but the service, the speed and thr quality of food have all seemingly been compromised in the time since the remodel.
Waitress is polite, childs food came back quick (grilled cheese) then ours came minutes after and I had to wait for sausage links. Bacon omelette came with small amount of bacon. Some creme filling was only on one side. Fiancés eggs werent cooked as asked, the chicken with gravy she ordered tastes horrible. And instead of jam or jelly its just flavored liquid that tasted processed.
Came in 9p with 3 people that was part of our party. The store was not busy, there were about 4 total customers in the building. The manager brought us to our table and told us that our server would be with us soon. We sat there for about 5 minutes before she and I mean the same lady that brought us to our table took our drink order. She was very nice and polite bringing us our drinks until, all we heard was her cussing and storming into the kitchen. Mind you, we could hear everything that she was upset about: no third shift server was coming in and she needed to get home to her kids. Alright, yes, understandable, however you are the manager. Call your store manager or other servers to cover. Doing so that may require you to stay until your relief gets there or not. What really put me off was she was complaining to every person on the staff about it loudly. Everyone in the building knew what was happening. As a manager, you cant do that. You need to make sure your staff is doing what they are supposed to do and your customers are taken care of. On top of that there was also a single hair in my husbands food, which she apologized for and comped his meal for that. Candee was the name on my receipt, which I believe was the manager. You cant act like that in front of your customers. They do not care about your personal life. They come into an establishment to enjoy their food and service to keep them coming back. I get she was having a terrible night, but now all of those customers also had a terrible night due to how you acted. I have worked in the customer service industry for 15 years, I understand that it can be very difficult, but be proactive instead of reactive.
Wow! Went in at 6:30pm on a Saturday evening, and there was a family of 5 waiting ahead of us. They said they had been waiting without even being greeted for 25 minutes!? My husband approached the kitchen area and spoke to an employee that said yeah were short staffed so its going to be a while before we even get to you there were 2 tables that had guests there. Walked out and went somewhere else for dinner. Saturday night an nobody can help customers during dinner rush??
Challenge seekers look no further! Test your parenting skills to the limit as you wait 15 minutes for water and chocolate milk for your 2 year old. Thrill as your server returns 10 minutes after you place your order to ask you questions about it - which means your order has not been placed. Test the limits of your endurance to keep your 10 month old happy while you wait 45 minutes for your food. DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO SURVIVE?
My family and I ate at IHOP on Alpine Ave in Grand Rapids MI today. We have never eaten at this Restaurant before. We ended up getting the manager or assistant manager as our waitress. We sat down at 11:45am. Ordered our food and asked for water and coffee. We received our coffee but no water. We also didnt have silverwear to stir our cream for the coffee. After waiting for 20 minutes and not seeing our waitress we asked another server if we could get our water. 10 minutes later our waitress came with 1 water. Her fingers were wrapped around the rim of the glass where you put your lips.Gross! After waiting another 15 minutes we asked another server if we can pay for our coffee and cancel our order. Here comes our waitress again. She assured us that our food will be out in just a second! By this time we have waited 45 minutes for 3 breakfasts! The place was not busy with many empty tables. We get our food and Holy Moly......my eggs were slimmy that actually looked like someones snot. My Grand daughter had raw hash browns. My husbands eggs also were runny but not slimmy. We had all three ordered over-MEDIUM eggs. I dont think they knew what that meant! We will NEVER eat at this establishment again. We paid full price for our meal after we told the manager/waitress about our eggs and hash browns. We paid it because we couldnt get out of there fast enough. It is pretty bad.
They wont use your birthday coupon for free pancakes unless you PRINT it due to abuse. Thats dumb. No serial number on the coupon means I can print it 10 times and get 10 stacks! Hey IHOP, this is 2018! We had to talk to the manager to get them to take it. Great place to go for sticky tables and eye-rolling servers with so-so pancakes. (Incidentally IHOPpers, it wasnt customers abusing the unprinted coupons since I can still print as many as I want, it was probably staff using it to give friend discounts.)
Horrible waitress, food wasent that good, went to pay my bill and the waitress didnt even have change to give me back. Called the store to talk to manager. Alls he said was oh Im Sorry that shouldnt have happened. But never offered me to come back and get my change. Also when the waitress was waiting on the U.S. me behind us she told them well I dont know when your food will be out, but it will be here sometime. They werent even that busy! Maybe a whole 15 people in the place! As a manager in a restaurant, and a manager of a truck stop thats not how a business should be ran. I will NEVER BE back.
I have been to ihop four times in the past and have never had any of the problems stated in the other reviews. quite the opposite in fact. the servers and staff were all very polite. I had brandi on the night shift; she was very nice to us. the food was fast, the food was delicious, and we got two meals and a shake for thirty dollars, including tip. I will definitely be coming back to ihop in the near future.
When i first got there I was greeted I said i had 3 adults and 2 kids. they tried to put us in a 4 person MAX table. I kindly asked for something bigger knowing we would not fit. I then had to wait for clean even though they werent buay and 5 big tabels were open. then it took 45 min for our order. our jasbroens came out burnt and service was rude.
First time eating at IHOP and it was okay, our waitress was really nice and it was quiet and peaceful because its Christmas night but the food wasnt the greatest. But there is a lot to choose from, I would say try It if you havent. For the price you pay you dont get a lot of food at all.
Horrible experience. Waited 45 mins for food while there was only 8 people in the restaurant. Waiter never came back to let us know what was going on. We have found that ihops just suck. We have gone to 5 of them around Michigan and we had a bad experience with them all but 1...
Slow. Many people tables open but not seating people. Pancakes kinda dry. Everything else just so so. The table was dirty and had somebody elses coffee still on it. The syrup was spilt all over in the holder and sticky stuff every place. Just wont go to this IHOP again!
My bestfriend and I are over worked college students. We went to this Ihop to use the wifi and for a quiet study place. We got there around 10pm and for a few hours. Our waitress, Candee, was hands down amazing. She made sure we had everything we needed and allowed us to be in a secluded area to help us study. We really appreciated everything she did for us. We are definitely going to come back in the future.

2022-04-11My family and I were very excited to finally live in a city with a IHOP!! Unfortunately we were absolutely disgusted and let down. Lets start off with the fact THERE WAS A BUG IN OUR SALAD!!! We Didnt even notice until my fiance had taken a bite. 🤢The portions are so incredibly small. The crepes and pancakes were actually good... Until we added the side of strawberries that came with the strawberry banana crepes and it tasted like sour wine if that makes sense. I ordered the turkey dinner.. I received a tiny cup of potatoes ( one used for a side of dressing). The turkey was not even a piece of turkey, it seemed as if I got the scrapings from the bottom of the pan (fatty and slimy). theres no flavor to the food. My mashed potatoes were super runny as if it was just mixed in the cup with a bunch of water and into my order. My biggest thing was the bug. I understand bugs (fruit flies, nats) can happen, especially with produce. But this was neither of those bugs and it was on top dead. Completely grossed out. Unfortunately I did not get pictures of the portions because I can get passed that.. But a bug in my food?!? Absolutely not!

2022-05-22What can you say. Its IHOP!!! Everytime we come here to eat everything we order is cooked to perfection and tastes great. The newest menu selection is great and the triple cheese and bacon omelet is second to none. My son ordered the chocolate chocolate pancakes and take note theyre chocolate pancake, with chocolate chips topped with chocolate syrup so if youre looking for a rich chocolate dessert look no further. Stop in for some great food.

2022-06-21It was Fathers Day of course it was busy. So I walked into the store to a takeout order. I figured itd probably be a 30-minute wait but it was Fathers Day so that was okay. Finally about 20 minutes later, sooner than I thought. My order came out hot and ready. I was excited to bring it to my daughter because thats what she wanted for her birthday breakfast. I get to her house she opens her food she goes oh they didnt give me blueberry pancakes I said wait I bought something for your brother so she looks in the other one and theres her blueberry pancakes. I asked for all bacon we got all sausage. I asked and paid for extra syrup and did not get the blueberry syrup. The lady that took my order so Im sure she was under extreme pressure given that she was so busy was so caught up in her frustration that you could read all over her face, just give me your order and get out of my way attitude was coming out of her. I hope she had a better day.

2022-06-04Usually good food. I dont get servers these days though. They dont check to see how things are anymore and if you get more than one cup of coffee without hunting someone down and asking your very lucky. What ever happened to taking care of your customers.

2022-06-01This location should have stayed closed. Short-staffed. Food was not worth the money. You can tell it was frozen. Everything was moist especially the onion rings. Ordered shakes just to be told they are out of certain stuff then come to find out they had no ice cream at all. Over $40 for a family of three to eat. Do Not waste your time here

2022-03-27I only go here to door dash but they recently switched up the way dashers can pick up their orders and its super inconvenient now. Instead of being able to walk in the side door and just grab your orders from the shelf they make you go in through the main entrance with all of the regular customers and they placed the shelf behind a host stand so you cant grab them yourself. You have to stand there and wait for a waitress to notice you because if you sit they will never see you waiting. Then they hand you the order. Which just takes more time honestly and isnt very efficient anymore. The dashers shouldnt be stuck in a sea of customers at the entrance waiting for tables when all we want is to grab our food while its hot and go about our delivery. I have been declining IHOP order regularly now just because of the new way they are doing their pick ups for delivery partners.

2022-05-21Food is pretty good and I enjoy it. I have been there 3 times over the years. All 3 times I have gone there; IHOP still hasnt been able to get an order right. Either its the wrong pancakes or omlettes. Today is the last time I go there. Its like you need to keep the menu after you order so you can double check your order. I know the kitchen staff didnt screw up. The waitress put the orderin wrong in the system because the mistake was on the bill that I recieved.

2022-03-11My father with dementia accidently left his tablet behind. I called and spoke w/the manager she was very polite. She told me she served my father and had it in her office but they were getting ready to close soon so she would leave a note for the next manager. I made arrangements to pick it up the next afternoon. When I got there the manager at that time was very inconsiderate and never took the time to look it. I even asked if she mind calling/texting the manager I spoke with and she answered with I said one of us would call you if we find it. Craziest thing is we were the same race and she acted as if I was beneath her as if she was better than me. Good thing I know better. Worst customer service!

2019-04-28Best place for pancakes! Strawberry banana pancake was really good and for omelettes I would recommend the chicken fajita. The filling is good and as they say it’s not breakfast that they serve but it’s a break feast. The place is clean and location is well accessible. But, had to wait for almost 40 mins to get my order which is something they should improve. Although, I would really appreciate if they had a breakfast buffet.

2018-11-18Typical chain restaurant. Food is good, but not amazing. Our eggs were overcooked a bit. Bacon was undercooked. Service was great. Very pleasant and attentive. Prices are very reasonable. Good place to take the kids and family for a good meal at a good price.
