Independent Carpet One was an absolute joy to work with! Cathy was so knowledgeable and helpful in helping me pick the perfect floors and made sure the whole process went smoothly. Our installers Mike and Hassan were excellent. They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy! Cannot recommend this company enough!
We ordered our carpet from Bob. He was great at the beginning of the process. We were on the books and everything seemed wonderful. The first installation date, the carpet was cut wrong from the mill so we had one room installed and our bedroom was not. They said it would be one more week. It came as promised, only this time it was the wrong color!! I talked to Independent Carpet One and they apologized. Because it was close to July 4, it was going to take a bit longer this time for the carpet to come in. Now, this whole time our bedroom is unusable. My wife and I both had surgery and were unable to sleep in our bedroom. We each took turns on the couch/floor. Talking to Bob was like we were bothering him. We finally got the correct carpet and the right size one month from the time we originally ordered it (2 more weeks) and were without our bedroom for 3 of those weeks!! We really try and support the smaller companies in Wayne/Westland but this really was a bad experience.
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff who took their time with us going over different brands and colors and actually listening to what we wanted. Also very kid friendly environment. Our son was treated wonderful and they helped keep him entertained while we were making our choices. Our carpet looks beautiful and would recommend Independent carpet one to everyone!
I had a flood in my condo back in August, and it damaged my carpet and vinyl. I worked with my insurance company regarding replacement of my carpet and vinyl. I decided to try Independent Carpet since it was close to home. I was treated with kindness and understanding during the process.Their workers did a great job, and cleaned up before they left.I would highly recommend Carpet One if you are considering new carpet or vinyl for your home.
With the exception of one minor delay, Independent Carpet did an outstanding job with the purchase and installation of our entire house of carpeting. Jeannie is an excellent sales person as well as designer who truly cared about this job. The crew of Joe, Eli and Mike were professional, timely, considerate and there is not a seam to be found. The inside staff of Barb and Jim were also especially helpful and valuable to the success of this project. I would highly recommend this company.
From the time you step into the store everyone is willing to help and is very friendly. Their expertise in guiding you to the best carpet or flooring for you is great! They have samples for you to view in your own home. Ordering and scheduling instillation is easy. We’ve had flooring and carpeting installed in the past 2 years and would not go anywhere else!!

It was a great experience. Been buying carpet from Independent Carpet for about 40 years. It was worth driving all the way to Westland to buy my carpet from a great company. Our salesperson was Jeane Salter and I highly recommend her. She was very helpful. The installers were very efficient and did a great job. If you need flooring just go there and forget the big box stores
The whole process went extremely well. Our salesman Bob, the young man who came to the house to measure, and the installers (Mike Ahmad and Hassan) were very professional, helpful and accommodating. In the end, we are happy with our product, and appreciated the quick turnaround for measurements with a very friendly young man! Our installation was less pleasant. The carpet installers were really unfriendly, late, knocked things over and scratched up our trim and wall paint. The quote detailed a hepa vacuum of the floor prior to the pad being laid, which didnt happen; Healthin-Ex spray, which I am not aware happened; and a final vacuum, which did occur very briefly but was not at all done effectively. This was apparently part of the installation process and costs $1.11 per square foot (for our small room, that was $186 total). Unfortunately, the cost for the value was just not there.
Jason was a very knowledgeable and patient salesperson. I would definitely seek him when I need flooring for another part of my house. Joe the installer was fabulous. He was highly recommended and I could see why! I will be back!
Jason was very helpful from the moment we walked in the door. He asked us what we were looking for and any concerns we had before he started telling us about the various products they have. Everything happened in a timely manner from the moment someone came to measure to the end of install and cleanup. We will definitely keep them in mind for future projects.

Had a very good experience with Independent Carpet One. Purchased hardwood flooring and carpeting for nearly my entire house and had them install. Cathy is great with a keen eye for color, design and knowing the composition of each carpet as I was interested in as natural a carpet as possible. She also helped me get a sample of the hardwood I was interested in. I am very pleased with both the hardwood and carpet.Hardwood installer, Joe, was awesome. We did all removal of old carpeting, flooring, screwing down of subfloors, but we still had some quick fixes to do at start of installation. I would make sure your floors are in best shape possible prior to installation to avoid any additional or unexpected work. Carpet installation was quick and easy as we also prepped the rooms by moving out all the furniture.

The design service and excellent installation exceeded were spot on! Below is the basement carpet, what an upgrade. Also before and after pictures of the kitchen floor and basement stairs, which were a mess! Grey is the new off white is the old. I had to replace an 18 month floor and stairs because “I new a guy, who knew a guy”. That translates to bad job and no warranty. Don’t make that mistake, go with the Pros! Joe did a particularly impressive job on the kitchen luxury vinyl installation, he is truly a master and I thank him and Independent Carpet One!

The installation crew (Joe Bazzoun) was fantastic. I would give them an A plus. The seams are invisible. The quality of work was the best I have seen. They did a great cleanup as well
So disappointed. We had a few people recommend the company and we really liked their guarantee. We ordered carpet for the entire second floor of our home. An expensive purchase. We knew they were higher priced, but liked the The Beautiful Guarantee® - Our guarantee that if you dontlove your new floor, well replace it for free. (Be sure and read the fine print on that guarantee). We ordered a plush greige for the bedrooms and a coordinating sculptured for our hall and stairs. It was a beautiful match using the samples the store provided. We had the samples for about two weeks and moved them from place to place in our home, for different lighting , paint color, etc. Once the carpet was installed (the installers did a great job), we noticed the sculpted carpet was a different color. It was listed as the same color we had chosen, but we were later told it was a completely different dye lot. The Independent Carpet One sales representative NEVER mentioned the dye lots could be different. You can see from the photo below. We were supposed to get the one on the bottom, the sample we brought home. They are not even close in color. What we received was the carpet on the top in the photo.However, we were told because it was a a different manufacturer than the bedroom carpet, it was exempt from their guarantee. We ended up putting the same carpet from the bedrooms in the hall, but we were required to pay the installation cost. Again, great job by the installer, however, he showed up, without notice, on a Monday morning, while we were out of town. Fortunately, our son-in-law was at our home that day. He had to deal with the install and ended up spending the day at our home. We could have asked the installer to come back, but we were having an event at our home in a few weeks and needed the carpet done.After paying thousands of dollars for the carpet, we did NOT receive what we ordered. All the store manager could say was there was nothing they could do for us and we could take it up with Karastan. They did take a little off the cost of the second installation. At the end of the day, for what we paid, we are not satisfied customers. Independent Carpet One are the experts and we should have been informed of the possibility of different dye lots given that we were coordinating two different carpets. Should we have known this? Maybe. However, this is only the third time in my life I have purchased carpet and dye lots were never an issue before and I have never heard of this being an issue for anyone. Independent Carpet One are the experts and this is what they do. They should have been forthright regarding the limitations on the guarantee, as well as the risk of variable dye lots. As they werent, they should have paid the total reinstallation cost. Beware to the fine print. You may wish to go somewhere else.

Nightmare: House was tore up for a year and then they ghosted me. After almost a year my house is still tore up. They tried to install my bathroom floor 3 times and failed all 3. The first time was the wrong color grout. I ordered a grey and the layed down yellow. The second time no spacers were used so the floors gaps were alk off. The third time it did not adhere to the floor. Very displeased with their professionalism. So long story short I still have no bathroom floor. Update: Full Reno done in a month from someone else. Since last problem received zero phone calls from Independent Carpet One. Thanks for taking a year out of my life. Also game room was not comped in any way. Ended up just being refunded for the bathroom that was NEVER finished by them.

Very friendly and very affordable!When the carpet was being installed, the installer took his time to make sure everything was perfect. He also went above and beyond to make the stairs looked better than they did!When it came to picking out the carpet, Cathy was so helpful! She made sure I was getting what I exactly wanted. She even took the time to disassemble the displays to have me feel the difference between different grades of carpet and padding.Highly recommend them over any big name carpet companies out there. Ive visited Independent Carpet One for the last 2 carpet purchases and installations. Cathy B. and their staff were great. I was able to take home samples to see how they looked in our rooms. The service and attention I received while shopping was second to none. The installation was performed a couple of weeks later by Joe and Ali. Both were friendly and professional and the installation for both rooms was excellent and completed in less than two hours.I would certainly recommend Independent Carpet One for anyone looking for new or replacement carpeting and if you want that soft plush feel, dont skimp on the cost of padding. From the time we first entered the store, we were treated like we were the only customers in the store. Not very happy with the whole experience. Not happy with how the repair came out. I expected better for the amount of money I paid. It’s now been 3 months and they still haven’t fixed my carpet. They are supposed to replace it all but they don’t seem to be in any hurry to fix the terrible job they did.
Fantastic experience with salesman Jason, getting measurements and choosing carpet. However, some small issues with failing to follow up on carpet arrival at the warehouse which delayed the install date, installers had to be provided masks (against their policy) and didnt fully clean up after install. Overall, happy with their product and the finished install, just need to go the extra mile to finish the job.
It has been 18 years since I purchased new carpet and Bob was extremely helpful in working with me to narrow down my selection based on my preferences, color and budget. I had the new carpet installed this week and Doug and Jason did a great job! They were courteous, professional, efficient. We are working on a complete home interior remodeling project. New windows, new paint and new flooring. I had a great experience with Independent Carpet One in August of 2020. This is the second time I have used them. I hired them this time to work on the foyer of my home and carpet the middle room of my house as well. From the beginning when I spoke with Bob, He did an excellent job helped me with finding a good carpet and a good price for the foyer which was alot smaller. Ive worked with Bob before and He is excellent to work with. Honest, upfront, genuine and great to work with. When the day came to install, Joe the installer called me up and came with his partner and they explained everything, and did a great job. I appreciate they cleaned up, did a fantastic job and did it professionally as well. I am pleased with everything in the whole process. I would like to thank Bob and Joe and Joes partner for an excellent job. I would recommend this company. I will be using them again.

Our experience with Carpet One Independent Carpet was great. We are happy with the results, carpeting looks good. I liked our installers, but they need a little talking to. They did a good job of installing and were done with 4 bedrooms and hallway in 6 hours. Glad we did it.

We have had several flooring projects done by other companies in the past, and this last project we called all the big commercial companies first. I am so glad that we ended up at Independent Carpet One in Westland! They had significantly better service, superior products, competitive pricing, low pressure sales, and outstanding installation guys. They make you feel like family, and that your getting special treatment at all phases . The highest praise I can give is to say we will use them for all our future projects, and you should too. But dont take my word for it, go and talk to them yourself. The difference is Outstanding, verse just OK with the other guys. Why settle for just OK.

We quickly placed the order and the carpet came exactly when we wanted it to ...it was installed perfectly! very unusual today for anyone to show up on time ready to work ! No excuses—they worked so hard - moved the remaining furniture disassembled and reassembled it they made our day wonderful!!! we will enjoy this carpet for many years to come —the price was comparable -the product excellent!!
I was just moving into a new home and ordered Karastan carpet for my Living Room, Hall & Stairs. Installers, Doug & Jaison called to advise eta morning of the install. In 1998 we purchased our carpet from Independent Carpet One for our new home. 22 years later, we are now replacing it. The carpet held up excellent for all those years which was a pleasant surprise. When the time came to replace our carpet, we shopped around, however Independent Carpet One offered the BEST deal as well as the professionalism in helping us choose our new carpet. From the moment we entered the showroom, we were greeted immediately by Bob. He helped direct us to the type of carpet we were looking for with absolutely no pressure. My fourth time purchasing flooring and carpeting from carpet one. Three times you had to come back for installation issues. Two issues out of the four installations in my opinion shouldn’t have occurred in the first place. . But all issues were addressed promptly and resolved. Jason is wonderful to work with and resolved all of the issues. I have recommended Carpet One to friends who have also purchased from you.

When it came time for the carpet install, Eli and his partner were very efficient and thorough. They took care to ensure we were more than satisfied after the install was completed. Absolutely no regrets! We will certainly be back for more projects very, very soon!

My family has been using Independent Carpet One for close to 20 years. They’ve done everything from window testaments down to the floors and each project has turned out phenomenal.The most recent project was putting in a new laminate flooring throughout my entire house and the entire experience from start to finish was as positive an experience as one could hope. Their customer service is exemplary and they really make you feel like part of the family which you will never get at a big box store. I worked with Cathy who took the time to explain all the different styles of floors and to made sure that I got the right flooring for my house and lifestyle, she even came out to do the measurements herself. Will, who dropped off the materials, was also extremely friendly and great to work with. I happened to be visiting my mom while Will was dropping off a carpet for her and he recognized me and asked how the floors were coming along in my place. Again, you just feel like part of the family when working with them. Joe who did the install was simply the best. I can’t imagine anyone being more thorough and meticulous when installing the floors. There were parts of my subfloor that were uneven that were discovered after carpet and a wall came down and Joe came up with multiple solutions on the spot to keep the project going. In my experience many contractors might have said the job couldn’t be done or would have said nothing at all and carelessly continued on with the job. You can really tell Joe takes pride in work and does not cut corners. In the end the floors came out perfect and really makes it feel like a brand new home.If you’re looking for new carpets, floors, or rugs you’d be doing yourself a disservice by not going to Independent Carpet One and letting Cathy and Co. take care of you. I truly can’t recommend or thank them enough for the job that they did.
Having shopped at various flooring stores through the years, we found Independent Carpet One Floor & Home to be the BEST! They have a great variety of carpet/flooring. They are both professional and personal. A few years ago, Bob helped us pick out our kitchen floor, which we are very happy with. Just recently we needed carpet for our stairs. Once again, Bob took the time along with his expertise to help us with our carpet choice. We also felt safe with their installation process, knowing the company takes safety precautions during the pandemic.
Everything went smoothly, thanks to Jeane, from beginning to end. Only down part was when for the first 2 days, the installer had to work alone. However he was outstanding. The 3rd day another installer showed up and he also was very professional and the job was completed on schedule.Love the luxury vinyl.
Our salesman was very professional and helped us pick out the right carpet - we love it! The carpet came in very quickly, they notified us and offered to install it the next day -- during Thanksgiving week! The installer was on time, pleasant, and installed our carpet in a timely manner -- it looks fabulous! We bought our first carpet at Carpet One 20 years ago and we will continue coming back for quality service and products!
Ive had a nearly 30-year relationship with this company buying carpet from them as well as working for them at one time. Thats why it was very upsetting when one of the owners insinuated I wasnt being honest about damage that was done to my kitchen floor. I paid the installers to move furniture in order for my house to be carpeted and when they did so, the kitchen floor got gouged. Now, why would I lie about something like that. There were other gouges in the floor that happened outside of this that I would have never expected the company to pay for. My integrity is very important to me and Im heartbroken that as they said, I said supposedly the damage was done by the installers. They were othert things that were said this time as well as in the past that for me, were not very customer friendly. Unfortunately, I have to move on to using another company in the future..
I want to personally thank Cathy for the excellent service and also sending us great installers Joe and and his partner. We visited the store multiple times with questions about different carpet ideas. Cathy was more than patient, personable and just a joy to be around. She always made us feel welcome and that we werent a bother. We carpeted our entire house, which turned out beautifully. We were allowed to take samples home and we never felt rushed to do anything. We also are having leftover pieces of carpet bound to use in walkways. We had such a wonderful experience with this company, we decided to re-carpet our basement next. She took her time with us picking out each carpet. Many thanks to Cathy, her staff, the installers and her fur baby (Lowkie) not sure of that spelling, that welcomed us each time we visited the store.

After being told by a subcontractor from one of the big box stores that the installation date was 8 weeks out (late October), I called Steve to see if he knew of any crews that could do our install sooner. Steve called back a few days later with a date much, much sooner (09/14/21). The install went very well, professionally handled by all involved. The price of the carpet, installation and padding was excellent. The company was easy to work with for an installation date. The installers were polite and friendly. They did leave a bit of a mess on my front porch, I’m still finding bits of carpet and padding in my yard. The carpet was installed fast and correctly, making me very happy.
This is the 4th time we have used Independent Carpet One Floor & Home. We first used them in the 1970s for our first home. The store was just a modest little place on Wayne Road. It is now a beautiful store offering a multitude of floor coverings. It is easy to see why they have grown their business to such a success. The quality of their products is high and prices are easy to understand with no surprises. We dealt with the owner Cathy, who is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the business. The installers, Im sorry, I cant recall their names, did an excellent job. This is one of the best businesses around, customer service is outstanding! I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone, and I have!
This was my third time using Independent Carpet One. Why the multiple visits? They are fast. Whether they are carpeting the basement steps or three bedrooms and stairs, they are fast. In this last visit, there was a minor oversight. My salesman, Brian Elsner, was quick to address and resolve the issue. Brian spent a lot of time with me in choosing carpet and plank flooring. More time that I thought was needed initially, but there are so many choices. Its insane how many options are available in gray carpet. Im awaiting the arrival of my plank flooring and that will make four times that Ive used their services. I like to shop local and feel like a made a really good choice vs. using the outsourced services of one of the big box home improvement stores.
Great experience from start to finish! Bob, my salesman, was fantastic. I was interested in sheet vinyl flooring and he helped me pick out several possibilities. I was able to take large samples home to try them in my space to see which worked best. Install was about 2 - 3 weeks from order. Scheduling install was very easy and they worked with my schedule. Joe, the installer, was fantastic! My flooring had a pattern on it but my walls are not straight. Joe made sure that the pattern was visually straight with the center of the hallway, rather than having it match the walls and look crooked. Joe was careful, thorough, and professional. He was very concerned with my happiness with the product and installation. The new flooring looks great and feels good under foot. I am very happy and would highly recommend!
Our salesperson Jeane was great. She sent us home with a carpet sample and two different pads so we could see which padding fit best under our door. Jeane then sent out someone to explain the different transitions we could have between our carpet and hardwood floor. The installers were great too. Before leaving they made sure we inspected everything and were happy with the install.

Staff at the storefront were great, installers were okay.We had a great experience at the store. Employees were friendly and knowledgeable about products and guided us to suitable carpet.When the installers came to tear out the old carpet and put down the new stuff, things changed a bit. Any question or concern was taken by them seemingly as an insult to their competence. They also openly ridiculed the stairwell build, a lot of which was done by ourselves (our house was not built particularly square, so we had to work with what we have). Despite this, they did a good job with it. Carpet looks great.

Bob Francavilla is the best. 3 yrs ago, he helped my wife and I select wonderful carpet for our basement. This year he helped us carpet the main floor and I couldnt be happier. When we walked in, he remembered us from before, and treated us like we were old friends. Eveyone at the store is always pleasant, and friendly. I would recommend them to everyone with flooring needs. Nate and Curt installed my carpet, and were top notch. Nate even explained the finer points of carpet installation and things I can do to keep my carpet in good shape. The carpet is awesome, and I cant wait until I can do the rest of my house.

First had vinyl flooring put down. Looks really nice but the guys left without putting the threshold at the ends of the flooring. Had to wait 3 weeks to get it installed due to ordering carpet and waiting for both to be done. Carpet was installed really nice. Salesman wasnt as productive as I wish he would have been. Had to keep calling and waiting on answers
My wife and I just closed on a new house and walked in to inquire about carpet. We gave the time frame that wed need it to be installed and the employee told us that it wouldnt be possible because they would need at least 7-10 days from estimate to install. No big deal, although he made a few rude remarks while explaining it. He told us his employees dont just sit around waiting for work. Again, no big deal, so we said wed like to look around. He told us we could look but it wont do us any good. We felt extremely unwelcome. We obviously took our business elsewhere...

They installed our carpet. Vacuumed and cleaned up and left. You couldnt even tell they had worked there except for the great carpet.

This is the third time we’ve used ICO, in two different home. Sales staff was amazing. Installers were great. Carpet is beautiful. We will definitely use them again.
Disappointed - Negative experience overall. They refused to correct things & denied responsibility. Independent Carpet One Westland, Mich. dismissed several concerns. They failed to deliver products & services on my carpet & wood floor installations.The carpets weren’t installed well & there are too many seams, which continue to lift. A bottle of Rx medicine is missing that was there when they arrived. The carpet installers did not spray the Healthier Living Antimicrobial Spray on the sub-floors as contracted and paid for.When I advised them multiple times they denied responsibility & refused to fix some things. I paid for their, “Healthier Living” service that they make you get in the package & charge you for, BUT the carpet installer didn’t spray large portions of my sub-floors as guaranteed, which I witnessed. He just poured it in some spots and left large portions of rooms/-sub-floors untreated. Now one of my rooms smells like chemicals where he just poured it. I asked them to lift the carpet & respray it, but they refused multiple times and never did, which is a violation of the contract for products and services agreed upon. A carpet installer broke my marble floor threshold and initially denied it then later admitted to it. They did reimburse me for my replacement. One of the two carpet installers was very rude, which was uncomfortable.The wood floor installers were decent, but lifted my new Maytag refrigerator by the freezer door handle and damaged it & Independent Carpet One refused to even acknowledge it or apologize. They also lifted my new Maytag oven by the handles and damaged it. The wood floor installers bent spokes on every heater vent cover the floors where the wood was installed. I think they used the grate spokes to pull them up and bent every one of them so now they all look damaged.After a few emails that went unanswered the owner emailed me and dismissed all but one of my concerns in an unprofessional tone and refused to lift and respray under the carpets. However, she did call me promptly when she wanted to collect the final payment. They were nice when they wanted the sale & got my deposit and when they wanted final payment, but when I needed help they were absent and dismissive.I mistakenly thought that Independent Carpet One’s showroom in Westland, Mich. and business seemed professional & someone I knew had a good experience with them back in the late 80s or 90s so I went with them even though they were more expensive than the other company I was considering, BUT I should’ve used the other company that was less expensive and had a shabbier showroom because I probably would have received better services in the end: Lessons Learned the hard way.
Just had bedroom carpet installed yesterday. From Barb welcoming us, to Bob helping us find the right carpet to Dominic measuring and John and Jack installing led to a great experience. Everyone so very helpful and all covid rules followed!
Great experience - They recommended and installed flooring. I love it! They recommenced Hunter Douglas window treatments - I love them! They recommended some custom rugs that they designed and I love them. I highly recommend this company. Installation was great. Price was way better than empire and carpet guys.

I have been going to Independent Carpet One for years, and honestly, I wouldnt shop anywhere else for carpet and flooring. Their sales staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable, their selection and pricing is top notch, and their installation service is fast and reliable. I just had about 1000 sqft of carpet installed in a new home and my wife and I are thrilled with how it turned out.
If youre looking for a remnant, this is the best place. The staff îs great and helpful and they dont try to sell you something that you dont need or want.

We have been buying carpet from Independent for over 40 years. They are family owned, friendly, efficient, and reliable. Definitely the store we go back to when we are in need of new flooring.
Update: I did receive a voicemail today from Carl. I appreciate that, but the call informed me he hadnt received the measurements yet. I am upping it one more star for the phone call. Thank you.Im sure Carl Francavilla will remember us. Our name is Joe and John. He treated us very nicely and gave us coffee while showing us around. We scheduled a measurement for 3/14, and informed them that this was an urgent job, however we did not give a date we had to have it done because we were willing to work and be flexible with them and this last minute request. The house is vacant and has a lock-box. The gentleman doing the measurement said that was not a problem, he would go and measure and get back with us. However, here we are two days after the scheduled time and I have not received a single call-back or any information. Its possible he went to the house and measured, but I guess I will never know? It is not up to me to chase down carpet after scheduling a measure. We have now gone with Home Depot contractors and our measure is this Saturday. I dont know if they will be any better, but at least I have received two calls from Home Depot since scheduling the measure. To me, this would have been an easy job. There is literally no furniture in the house. Its a large area too, it would have been between $5000 and $8000 dollars for this job even with the cheapest carpet and vinyl. I also contacted Lowes, who promptly called me back and at least had the courtesy to tell me they could never match Home Depots pricing. I give kudos to them for at least calling. No call, no show really hurts a reputation, whether youre a person or an organization. I wish Independent Carpet One well, and hope they can not make these mistakes in the future. I guess they are too busy to follow up after I have made repeated calls to the company. I have spoke with the Owner (Carl) and the Owners Son as well as one of the tile installers (Brian). No one has given me the courtesy of a follow up. I really wish that I could give the company a better score as there is a history between my father and the owners father. Customer service really isnt anywhere close to the way things were even 20 years ago. Seems like no one really cares for anything anymore. Totally disgusted. I dont know where to start! I have worked with Carl to re-floor 4 homes in the past year and a half and had the most exceptional service ever! He and the entire staff have treated me like family and go out of their way, regardless of how busy they are to make sure I find exactly what product I need! Barb at the front desk is always a gem to see and so helpful and friendly. They are a rare breed in todays world of retailers...the selection is truly amazing and if they do not have it, they will find it! Their installers are excellent and have actually fixed mistakes from another local retailer that I used before finding Independent ! The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the staff that works at the store was really nice and helpful. Now onto the bad, the installers were awful. When they were installing the vinyl floor in my laundry room it sounded like they were tearing down walls. Turns out they broke a water feed line pipe to my washer and laundry tub which ended up costing me 450 dollars to fix. They didnt bother to unscrew the tub from the wall they ripped the screws right out of the wall mangling them in the process. They broke the drain pipe which is completely normal because the pipe connection was old. It looked like they used dull butter knives to cut the edges of the flooring and I am not entirely sure I can cover up the edges with baseboard or not. They kept telling me that it wasnt their fault it was bad piping. If they had taken their time and been a little more careful they wouldnt have broken the water line. Like I said the staff in the store was really nice but watch out for the installers.

Purchased a vinyl floor. The installers were absolutely horrible. They failed to level it properly, got leveling cement all over my home, ruined freshly painted walls, and the floor looks horrible. Theres bubbles everywhere. Even went back to purchase the baseboards, ended up getting annoyed because they hadnt come to install. These were supposed to be stained and never were. We can not use half of them due to defects and the way that they cut them (cut from 16 feet down to 8, and shredded them doing so). I will never do business here again. We purchased this flooring 2 months ago and waited a month for them to install. I will never recommend these people to anyone!!! My grandmother has used them for 40+ years and now will never use them again. We already have to replace a floor that was put in just a month ago. We came here to save me time and a headache, but now I have a bigger headache than ever, and wasted over $1,500!

I worked at this company back in the 90s. I hope that the customer service had improved. I worked with Carl Francavilla Jr. In the warehouse and was told by him that if a former customer called for a research to charge them $65.00 even when the owners Fran and Carl Sr. guaranteed free lifetime restreach. I hope that the failfull customer I had found another store to buy their flooring. I was let go due to Carl Jr. stealing cash which they blamed on me. This place quoted us at 3500 installed with one their cheapest carpets.... menards we got better carpet and better pad for $1200 installed... home depot was 1500. Shop around folks.

HAD A NICE INSTALLER COME, DID A GOOD JOB INSTALLING MY TILE, HOWEVER, HE HAD TO TAKE UP MY TOILET AND REPLACE IT, AND AN HOUR LATER I HAD WATER ON MY NEW FLOOR. IT APPEARED THAT HE HAD NOT TIGHTENED THE WATER LINES GOOD ENOUGH. HE CAME BACK AND I SAW THAT HE DID NOT CAULK AROUND THE TOILET AFTER HE PUT IT BACK, BUT HE SAID IT WAS NOT IN HIS CONTRACT. HOWEVER, HE SAID HE WOULD, BUT HE ONLY SPOT CAULKED IT, SO SOME OF THE CAULKING LOOKED NEW WHILE THE ORIGINAL CAULKING THEN LOOKED DIRTY. NOT VERY SATISFIED WITH THE JOB IN GENERAL.

2022-06-16I own a business in Westland MI and recently hired Independent Carpet One to re-carpet our sales offices. Cathy in sales is the absolute best with a wonderful personality. She assisted us in every aspect of planning. I will admit I picked a wild carpet tile. Wild just meaning very different. Once they were down I was not at all happy with the outcome/look it created, Although it was my selection. When Cathy wrote to ask if I was pleased I was just honest. While I didnt blame them at all, I didnt love it. To their credit, they stopped pretty much everything and asked what they could do to get it as best as possible. As promised they were out the very next morning with the install manager moving and replacing tiles to get it to a better place. While I still dont love what I picked, honestly it was a breath of fresh air to work with a company that still cares about their work and how their customers feel not only before the job but after. Sales and proposal process....GREAT. Professionalism, top notch. Install team, excellent. I wouldnt hesitate to not only use them again myself, but likewise confidently refer them to anyone needing flooring of any kind. A+++++++

2022-07-16Cameron was very very knowledgeable and helped us with our carpeting needs everyone in the store was wonderful Bobby helped me pick out carpet and they had the carpet and if just a few days and the installation just a few days after that. There was a slight problem with the installers but Cathy, the owner of carpet One and Gary one of the bosses over there came to my home to discuss what happened during the installation and they have been over backwards to make things right. Would highly recommend carpet One to my friends and family. Top shelf service top shelf business. I love that his family owned and run for 50 years now. Nobody stays in business for 50 years without doing things right. Definitely five stars for carpet one!

2022-02-12A big thumbs up to Carpet One for the beautiful job they did carpeting my whole house. Bob and Cathy helped me choose a carpet that best suited my needs. They were professional, knowledgeable and friendly, and I am very happy with my choice.A special thumbs up to my installation team, Mike (Ahmad) and Hessan. The job took three and a half days, so I got to know them a bit. They were friendly, polite, and very hard working, going above and beyond to make sure I was happy. When they were done, everything was cleaned up. They did a fantastic job!

2022-05-14Bought kitchen floor. Installers didnt do the transitions correctly but the project manager, Joe, came back and corrected them. I am very happy with his job and ecstatic about my flooring. It took awhile but they corrected the problem.

2022-03-05My experience with purchasing from Carpet One was fantastic. Jason is very knowledgeable and helpful with my purchases. My installers were excellent. Joe and his partner were always prompt and professional. He doesnt just lay the floor/carpet but also fixes any problems with the floor. I no longer have a squeaky hallway. I had a question about my flooring and he doesnt brush it off, HE CAME THAT DAY TO CHECK IT OUT and resolve it. I would highly recommend this company and the installers. 2022-01-18This is the second time we have used Independent One for our carpeting. They did our bedroom, family room and basement steps. We worked with Bob who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We told him what we wanted and he showed us samples. And we went from there.They were very flexible with their installation schedule. We told him a convenient date and they were here. Joe our installer was fabulous. Very conscientious in moving and putting back the furniture. Also a super cleanup and removal of the old pad and carpet.We’ve been very happy with Independent. If we need more flooring, this is the place we will return to. 😁

THANK YOU! Independent Carpet worked to meet our tight schedule...we were moving from Grand Rapids to Dearborn and they made it happen with time to spare. Installation was quick and professional. It looks great. We are calling for more work in the next couple of days.

2022-06-16My experience with all areas of Carpet One was excellent. Bob was a excellent and knowledgeable salesman, the installation team was great, and I love my floor. I didn’t realize how much I disliked my old floor. My new luxury vinyl flooring looks beautiful, easy to maintain, and holds up very well with my 65 pound grand dog. I recommend Carpet One highly.
