Called Friday afternoon to setup and appointment, was able to schedule them for the following day and they showed up when they said they would. Im a new homeowner, never had a sprinkler system before. Bob & Danny were great. Bob thoroughly explained how the system works. I had 4 heads that were leaking, they replaced those quickly. After everything was fixed, Bob looked at the coverage and decided he didnt like the placement of one of the heads and moved it at no charged.Top notch company, will be using them again.
I scheduled an appointment with some I believe by the name of Georgia. She was so nice to me and even went through pricing and gave me an estimate that was cheaper than competition in my area. I also used them for a quick repair which is how I found them. SATISFACTION
They came to blow out my system the morning when the temp went down to 15 degrees the night before. Said they were not getting much pressure through the lines probably because of ice in the lines (go figure). I asked what could be done and he said that the system needed to be run to get rid of the ice but it would cost me their hourly rate of $90 on top of the $45 I already paid for the blow out. Then he said or you could just leave it and keep your fingers crossed. How unprofessional! First of all, I have been told by several other sprinkler companies that they should have ran the system first knowing how cold it was to melt any ice in the lines, at no additional cost, and then blow out the lines. Instead they went ahead with the blowout, and I even had to instruct the guy on how to operate the control panel. Subsequently I had another company out to do another blow out and discovered that hardly any water was blown out the first time. Glad I did because Irrigation Dr probably would have caused several hundreds of dollars in needed repairs next spring because of their unprofessional procedures. And lets not forget that when you make out your check for payment, they ask you to use a persons name, not the company name... a bit fishy. I certainly wont be using them again.
I’ve had my sprinkler system serviced by this company over the years. They show up in the allotted timeframe, and take care of any issues in a timely manor. They cut an underground wire for my landscape lighting, I called and they came out and fixed it the next day.I would recommend them in the future.Nice people to work with.
I noticed that my outside drain tile was not flowing properly, this was due to poor material choice when the house was built. I called 3 different plumbers, one said they would machine snake it, but that could tear up the pipe and wed be back to square one. Another plumber came out and estimated a $3700 repair.I, by chance, saw these guys working on my neighbors yard and asked if they did these kinds of repairs, and they said Yes. They looked at what was going on and assessed that it would only cost about $800 to fix. When they came out, I asked them to look at my sprinkler system. They showed me where the leaks and problems were and repaired those.Overall, I had a positive experience and feel that I was being treated very fairly. I will definitely call them first for all my irrigation needs.
Exceptional customer service - we have a sprinkler system that we installed about 20 years ago that has been serviced by Irrigation Doctor for much of the last 10 years - winterizing, repairs, etc.. Never a complaint about their workmanship or service. We had a solenoid go bad last week - a solenoid that is no longer made and cannot simply be replaced. I called Irrigation Doctor to see about repair or sourcing replacement parts and they offered to look in their storage for the same solenoids that have been swapped out and offered them for free to see if that worked. Yesterday, following up to see if they had found any of them... there were two already hanging on my door from Irrigation Doctor... free of charge though I live in Ypsilanti Township. That is incredible customer service and they have a customer for life in me.
The service person we had was not professional. I requested a sprinkler blow out. During set-up he noticed just a little bit of ice on the top of my blow-off valve. After about 1-minute of debugging, he was convinced it was damaged wanted to charge me $200 to change the valve. The service persons logic and tenure was suspicious. I had to pay for a very short service visit. After he left, it took me 5min to confirm the valve was fully functional.
Had a very very bad experience with this company. They came out to review a sprinkler line issue two weeks ago and could not repair the issue at that time. They indicated that they would get back to me with a proposed solution and pricing. It has been two weeks and they have been completely unresponsive. Incredibly unprofessional and they truly left us in a terrible position. Several unreturned phone calls. Bad. Bad. Bad.
I had to have the sprinkler overflow replaced outside. This guy who said hos name was Dan but call him Doc. Anyway they installed it really fast. That is not my problem with them. The problem came afterward with the cost and my paying them. Dan initially told me the cost would be 276 dollars. Once they finished they began to check the stations. They basically told me that my sprinkler system was damaged and leaking and that to replace them would cost me around 600 or 700 dollars. This was not bad because I refused. But the thing that bothered me enough to write this review is that upon leaving the initial 270 payment turned into 376 dollars. We paid by check. I was told to make the check out to Georgia Laduke. They claimed she is the owner of the irrigation doctor. I did so, but in the memo I wrote Irrigation Doctors. Upon cashing checking their deposit online I noticed that they scribbled out the Irrigation doctors memo. I think that is very shady. Be cautious before using them. Get an estimate preferably in writing but at least verbally firm with a witness. I dont know the reason for scribbling out the company name from the check, but for them to alter a check after the fact is probably illegal. Therefore be wary when hiring them.
They came out the day before the 4th of July to fix a cracked pipe. They immediately started digging up the ground around the pipe to replace it. They were fast talkers and quick to start repairing without giving a proper estimate. They quickly moved from the repaired pipe to fixing another part of the system which wasnt part of my initial call. I had done some yard work and buried a few heads when laying sod to increase the grade around my house. All the estimates they gave me failed to include the labor which ended up adding on another few hundred dollars. Seems like one person could have done the work in the same time these two did, yet they still charge you for the labor of two people. Anyways, the work had to be done and ultimately it was my fault for letting them move so quickly. All said and done the repairs were just shy of $400. I gave them a check and they were on their way. A few weeks go by and the check still hasnt cleared my bank. I have called multiple times and get the same response every time... We will cash it this week... Here we are a month later and they still havent cashed it. The last time i called the lady was very rude and said No the check isnt lost and no its not cashed. Why dont you spend less time responding to peoples reviews and more time taking care of your customers. Poorly run company. You may have good reviews online, but word of mouth is very powerful. You just lost a customer and I will not recommend you to anyone I speak with.
Had the Irrigation Doctor do both our Fall shut-down and Spring start-up for our sprinkler system and they did a very thorough and exceptional job. They also repaired a broken sprinkler just today and did a seamless and comprehensive job. At the same time, both Bob and Danny had expert recommendations for how to care for and replace certain sprinklers that werent as functional as it could be. Highly recommend this company.
Wish i could give them zero. Quoted $45 for startup, charged $83 and did not even start up system. Told us they cant until we spend another $400. Left marker flags in my garage and left both access panels in my yard open and uncovered. Did not even open the valves. When I called to complain, I got the lady that answers the phone. No help, no refund, just a lecture about why she cant help me and no transfer to someone who might. Avoid these bums at all costs!
I called multiple times in August and September of 2016 after receiving a mailer at my home. I never received a return call.Subsequently, my neighbors chose to use them for some repairs I agreed to pay for after we tore things up installing our pool.I was not home when they began work, wish I was. I arrived about 30 minutes after they began work. I informed him I was paying for repairs only.In the end, my neighbor was told it was necessary to replace a single zone that HAD 4 mist heads providing more than adequate coverage that happened to have 2 damaged heads and 20ft of damaged 1 inch poly pipe as feed. This was replaced with 70ft (beginning to end of driveway) with 10 new mist heads. I used to install sprinkler systems, but even if you knew nothing about them, do the math. 70ft and 10 sprinklers along their driveway on the narrow side (they own 3 to 4 feet of grass on that end). I suggested SST nozzles (side strip nozzels) and he felt he could adequately do the job with 8 heads. Still WAY overkill, may even cause drainage problems. We were clearly sold a bill of goods that was not needed or necessary. Because of the neighbor situation, I negotiated the bill and reluctantly paid it for my neighbor, who knew nothing about sprinklers and was clearly over sold during a fairly simple repair job. I should have fixed it myself.I asked for an itemized invoice. Unreal. Didnt realize crimp clamps (which should not be used) cost $1 each. I can buy a box of 100 at home depot for $15. Heads were over $35ea and sell retail for about $5ea. I still cant believe the sticker shock I had. $575 and I had other estimates for $275. Had the neighbor been more flexible and willing to wait until Dec 2 when I had the other company scheduled, this would never have been an issue. I learned a lesson.I was told by the repair guy the reason they never returned my calls in August/September was because their phones were damaged in a storm and out of service for a couple weeks. When I began asking about cost consideration, I was told coupons expired three weeks earlier. Come to find out, he is part of the family that owns the company, I asked if there was someone at the office I could talk to and suddenly a discount of $50 was offered.Incidentally, the costs above did not include the winterization that was billed seperately.I was told by the repair guy they rarely work in Plymouth or Canton. I think I now know why.
On time, Organized and diligent. Arthur, Dominick started the work and laid the plan insuring the max efficiency and coverage of the lawn. Professional, did the work as promised. They kept me informed of the changes as they went along. I highly recommend them!. Talk about the rest of the team Danny, Katie, Bob and Robin insured strong finish. I like how efficient my sprinkler system has become and how clean the work. Thank you for a job well done!
I called the company after previous homeowner left their number in my house. I made an appointment, but they failed to show up. When I called the next day, the lady on the other end told me that their team showed up but did not see my car in drive way so they choae to leave! In fact I was at home waiting for them the whole afternoon and they never came close to my house!I had to set up another quick appointment and they showed up this time on time. They started turning on my sprinklers before knocking on my door. Because that was my first time starting up a sprinkler I had lots of questions to ask, but the guy in charge seemed values his time too much to answering my concerns. After he finshed he told me that the two flags he planted on my yard marked two bad heads that needed replacement. He came short off offering to do the job. I wondered why? The team left promptly without letting me know that one of two valve boxes was flooded! I came to notice that days later when I was walking on my yard . The whole area area around that valve box was dumped on a bright sunny day! I called them and the same lady answered and promised she will call me right back because she needed to look into the chart. She didnt call back. I called her back next day and she said she said shes not in the office and yhat she will call me back within an hour and half. Again, she failed to call back! I called back for the third time and spoke to the same person. Not only she had not offer any explanation why she didnt call me back, but all she seemed worried about is not taking any blame for what happened. Moreover, she stated that I had to pay $35 if I needed them to show up ti fix the problem.
I had a sprinkler zone that would not stop running so and I called Irrigation Doctor. They came out quickly and diagnosed the issue. I want to thank Arthur and Dominic for coming out, doing a great job, and fixing my system, so it is running top notch again!Anytime I need to get something done on my sprinkler system I call Irrigation Doctor. I highly recommend them for any job. They also winterize my system each year and do a fantastic job! Thanks again guys!
Called then out 6-12-2015 to startup my system. My wife was home when they came out. Had several calls from my wife they were digging a hole in my yard. They told me i had several head which were bad. (I agreed that a few head may be old and not properly working as the system was installed by the previous owner). They replaced 7 gear heads, added a valve box, start up cost, 4 wire nuts, 7 clamps, 4 nozzles and 1 mister. the cost was $488. I got home to review the system improvements as they left the house before i got home and my wife doesnt understand what they did.I called them back as the system was leaking at the new head and had them explain what they did. The crew reviewed the updates and informed me that the system was just turned on and the leaks should stop after water ram through the system a few time to expand the seals after a long winter.Ive been checking the system for 7 day and the head still leak the timer is set for 4 pm not 4am and the main line for water supply has leak to.Call the company three time (once to Dan and Robbin crew and Georgia office call taker. Waiting for response. After paying almost $500 for repairs i should have no LEAKS and they should be out to fix the issues soon. Im waiting to see what they do as i may need to take the next step a call a news station and report them for poor service.Im going to give than a chance to fix my issues. I will let everyone know what happens.6-20-2015 Dan returned and fixed the leaks and found a valve that had gone bad and replaced it.Not sure what happened when they first came out to start up the system or why i had a leaky valve after they left the first time. However, with two phone call to the main office they sent out a crew and fixed the issue and it still cost me $81 dollars.Despite the issues with the leaks im happy my system is working properly. The previous home owner did as little maintenance as needed and i was stuck fixing his neglect.Service was good overall and would call the service provider back in the fall for turn off/ winterization.DID NOT DO WHAT THEY SAID. I HAD TO FIX THE ISSUE MY SELF. DO NOT RECOMMEND!.
They winterized my sprinkler system last October. I opened it this year and after few weeks I noticed water in the basement. I hired a specialist to diagnose the issue. He confirmed that a busted pipe was the reason, he also confirmed that the pipe was busted due to a poor winterization. When I called them to tell them what happened and to ask for the warranty to fix the pipe only, they declined and acted foolishly. Dont trust them with your system, theyre very bad, unprofessional, disrespectful, and dishonest.
Would have gave them 4 stars but... I had them winterize my sprinklers and found one of the sprinkler heads broken on the ground a few feet away from where it should be. I sent them pictures and called about the incident and heard nothing after, its been over two weeks now. Would not recommend.
I wouldnt let these cons blow out your system unless you wanna pay 3 or 4 times more than the initial blowout , either that or they let your system freeze and still charge you a service fee, they scam you into changing parts that never needed to be replaced to begin with! All of the neighbors had had the same issue with them over the years! Buyer beware do your research before you let clowns on your property!
Just called to replace a sprinkler head that Ive already purchased from the manufacturer ($4.90). They told me $15 for the sprinkler head plus $76/hr billed at 15 min increments plus $35 for showing up. Ummm I think Ill ask ANY other company to repair. Kind of funny seeing as how the repair is less than 5 miles from their office. No hard feelings, just my opinion.
I had an outrageous water bill. So I called these guys out (because they had a coupon for repairs) to take a look at my sprinklers. They came out and told me I had 12 leaking heads(i was expecting a broken pipe or something). At first i was in disbelief because I had another company turn my system on and they told me I was good. Apperently the kind of sprinkler i had commonly has this problem. Anyways they had shown me the leaking heads and i was expecting a bill that was larger than my water bill. The bill wasnt that bad I had my coupon i believe it was around 400. My next water bill was great well as great as a bill can be. They also gave me a heads up that some more of sprinklers were probably going to go bad.I had a great experience with them the workers were very nice an they knew there stuff, and the lady got me in the day I called. I recommend calling these guys, if you have a problem they will sniff it out. Oh also the following year i had two more that were bad, just like they said.
I was foolish to be attracted by their $35 deal. What they did is that they didnt do a good job on closing the system, so a pipe bursts. I called them because I thought it was under warranty, they said no youre not because you opened it. I said ok but come please to fix it. They came and started with $350 price, then kept adding stuff and the final bill was $650. They had a new guy with them, the new guy felt sorry for me and said that this is what they do, they get customers with $35 and then hit them with a huge bill. I asked the new guy, did they break my system intentionally? He kept quiet and didnt say anything. I truly believe they did that intentionally. Very bad people, if I were you, I would avoid.
Not be mislead by the sign $35 SPRINKLER START-UPS ...... They charged much much more than other companies I worked with before. The worst part is: They would not come back to finish their incompletely job. Call their company N times, after my explanation, what I can hear ishold on, then no sound from the line. My $377 was paid, but I did not get the service I am supposed to have! Terrible, Terrible !!!
I got irrigation doctor for my sprinkler repair. What would have costed me $100 to fix the leak in my system, the guys told me that i had to replace the entire system that and gave an estimate of $800. I got another sprinkler company who came in and just fixed the leak , charged me $100 and also changed few sprinkler heads. Meanwhile the guys from irrigation doctor charged me the service fee and also 1/2 hour labor for just showing up. They told i dont have any alternative apart from changing the entire system and pressurized me to get it done. As far as i am concerned , this is an unfair practice to a customer who trust a company to deliver the service. I would no longer get any service from these guys...
Danny did a good job repairing the problems I had with my sprinkler system. Hes helpful, patient and willing to explain to me what he was doing when asked. After he realized that Im meticulous, he made effort to not mess up the flower bed edging and mulch and tidied up before he left. He would be the reason I use this company.
I just had Irrigation Doctor out to my house and my rental property. The technician, Bob, was GREAT! I needed some heads replaced in my backyard, he showed me why and then showed me the difference after the work was completed. Very pleased! I would highly recommend Irrigation Doctor and they have a customer for life!
Horrible! Not to be trusted. There are lots of options, be safe and pick another compay. Called for a blow out. The tech said my check valve was broken but when I asked to see it they could not show me it being broken. Technican defensively called called me stupid for not seeing anything wrong. I explained I am not dumb and do know how a check valve works then he called me lazy for not doing it myself and left without reassembling the system. Called office and they apologized but would not send a replacement tech to reassemble the system the first tech disassembled before walking out after getting caught trying to charge for un-needed repairs.I used black diamond the past three years, I suggest you do the same.
This company is garbage. I used them in the past and had mixed results. I decided to give the another try thinking it was just a bad individual. This time they didnt bother to show up at all for an appointment. It was raining so my wife called them to see if that was going to be a problem. The woman on phone said that it shouldnt be and that she would contact them and call us back with update. Never received that call. My wife called the next day and the woman made some lame excuse that she thought they called us and we didnt answer . My wife explained that did not happened and asked why were we not 1st on the schedule for the next day and the woman said she couldnt do that and that she would move us to another week. We just said no and decided to get someone else to do winterization. I do not recommend using them for sprinkler services.
They fixed 4 months ago changing 8 or more sprinkler heads. When, I called them for winterization this year, they said that they need to fix the two sprinkler head again.During winterization , they have taken one white cap that is used to cover the pipe end. I called them to return it. They have not done yet. I will not call this company for the future service.
Recently, my Zone Clock stop working. Bob and Robin came out to service the unit. Unfortunately, it had to be replaced. They were very friendly and professional. But most importantly, they are Michigan State fans! lol!Overall, I have been very satisfied with the services the Irrigation Doctor has provided our family. Please keep up the good work and your referrals will continue to grow.T.C.
We called on the 22nd and got taken care of the next day. They were prompt, courteous, quick to access the problem; and fixed all of the issues in a very short time.I would recommend this service highly. Thanks to Aurthur, Bob, and Robin my sprinker system is working better than it has ever done.
Sounds simple to me you pay 35 dollars to have your sprinkles started up. You drove over Three of them and your snow blower broke two of them i dont really think their warranty for sprinkler winterized covers you running them over with a car or a misuse of a snow blower.
Do not stand behind their (shoddy) work; always find questionable excuses not to honor warranty or return to fix blatantly screwed up jobs; use cheap teaser rates to get in on the property only to bill up hundreds of dollars for repairs that require repeat visits and more charges. I was a fool to have experienced this not once but twice. Never again.
We had an aweful experience with this company. The person who came was rude and was yelling at me across my yard. It got to the point where I had to ask him to leave without completing the service. We live in a great, quiet neighborhood and he was causing a scene. I would not recommend them.
I just had the Irrigation Doctor to my house and they not only got my sprinkler heads up and running they fixed the pipe that someone tried to steal! This is the 3rd but not last time they have been here. They are cheaper than the last people I had and they are professionals to boot.
I will never attempt to use this company again. I had an appointment set up in a 4 hour window, and they decided not to show up. They called an hour and a half after the 4 hour window to tell me they were running late, and since I missed the call they decided not to show up at all.Even though this was clearly THEIR mistake, they have not way to fit me into their schedule until a few weeks from now.Very unprofessional, terrible customer service.
I highly recommend the work of the irrigation doctor staff and crew. I have a very old system and they came out and gave the system a brand new face. I and my wife cant thank them enough for the service the rendered to us. Will call them again if we have problems with the system.
Unbelievable waited two weeks for this guy to come out and blow up my pipes pressure to high. One day wasted he was supposed to come out the next day didnt show up in the morning then they wanted me to pay for parts told him to get lost worst company ever. Two days waiting. What is my time worth.
Not recommend. I had an appt for 3:30 to 6:30. The guy shows up and leaves immediately saying he is getting something to eat and never shows up. I call the office and they say they will call him and then call back. They never call back and when I call 2x, they dont answer. Very unprofessional.
Irrigation doctor associates are very knowlegable sprinkler technicians they came to my home to inspect my sprinklers (due to a high water bill) to found the problem in my main line and one of my valves they had all the parts they needed to fix my system right on the truck i have been using them for years for my winterization, this was my first repair they were very polite and friendly told me about possible upgrades to my system then gave me 15% off parts and labor these men are definately hard working profesional , with the utmost integrity i would recomend them to anyone
Hired them to winterize our sprinklers. Not only did they fail to winterize the pipes correctly, they left with the water turned off to the main house and this (see picture). When we called to have them come back and fix the problem, we were told it was our fault (after them telling many lies to try to cover themselves), were hung up one by the lady in the office, then the technician called to berate my wife with profanities. They were adamant to come back to the house, I had to threaten calling the police if they set foot on my property. They eventually tore up our check and placed it in our mailbox, with the technician yelling heres your check, F*** off as she drove away (have this on video). Incompetent, ignorant and just all around horrible people. Dont give them your business. They have a F rating on BBB for a reason.

2022-05-25Ive been using Irrigation Doctor for about 6 years now. Dennis (the service tech) and the woman working with him (unfortunately didnt catch her name) were extremely helpful and courteous. Greatly appreciate their professionalism and explanations about upkeep & care. I needed a couple repairs (due to well water causing rust and deterioration) and feel the cost was fair. I look forward to having them come out in the fall to handle the shut-off service

2021-07-03Prompt and courteous. The techs did a great job moving my sprinkler heads. They double checked all of my sprinklers and made adjustments as needed before leaving. They even came in under the initial estimate. Highly recommend!!

2020-09-29We have used them for sprinkler winterization for several years now, and have found them to be prompt and reasonably priced. I deducted a star, though, because the lady who answers the phones for them is less than pleasant. As in, every single time Ive called. You would think that you would want to have a good first impression. The service guys have been decent.

2019-07-02They work fast, which makes for a low labor cost BUT they triple the price of parts and they will not use parts purchased by the homeowner (they will tell you its because they have a 2 year warranty, but Im sure its because they cant over charge you if they use your parts). Their office quoted me a much cheaper price in parts (which led me to book the appointment), when they arrived, their quote for parts was twice as high. So just to be clear, a Hunter brand valve costs $17 at Home Depot, their office quoted me $30 and they wanted to charge me $65 for each valve they needed to replace. Look elsewhere. I wish I had.

2017-10-28We have used the Irrigation Doctors to blow out our sprinkler system and do minor repairs for at least ten years and we are happy with their service. They arrive during the time frame promised and are professional in their demeanor. They are about half the price of many of the lawn care businesses ($35.00 before Oct.31st for up to 8 zones, $40.00 after Oct.31st) . My only minor quibble is that somehow Ive been dropped off the mailing list so no longer receive reminder postcards. Overall, they do a great job and Im so surprised to see so many negative ratings! My neighbors and I have had good experiences with this company for over a decade.

2020-10-16Used Irrigation Doctor for 3 years now and they’re not only fast, but they’ve kept the same price all 3 years round. Even do fixes at the spot if needed. It’s been a different crew each time, and the service has been superb on each occasion.Kudos to the Doc ;)

2021-09-192 years in a row the didnt put a cap back on the outside valve after they took it off. They dont reply to calls unless theres an easy buck to be made. No longer using them to winterize. Terrible service.
