The manager was very friendly and easy to deal with. The sign up process was fast. I have an indoor unit which was very clean. Getting into the complex was very easy too; using an app on my phone to open the gate so I didn’t have to touch the keypad. The price was right too
We just rented a 10x10 unit. The unit was very clean. The man in the office who’s name was Mark was very polite. He even spoke a little to my father in polish which made my dad feel comfortable. He helped my father open his unit and helped him with the lock. My father was very against putting his stuff in storage and the man at iStorage really made his day and made him feel comfortable.
My girlfriend and I needed a place to store our stuff between houses. We put a reservation in on the Istorage website. Within 5 minutes the manager of the property we reserved at had called us to welcome us and answer our questions. Mark was very kind and did all our paperwork on the first call. He made it quick and easy and we felt safe because we didn’t have to go into a store. He even set us up an App on her phone so we didn’t have to touch the number of on the gate. We moved in yesterday and by 10am today Mark had called us to make sure the move in went smooth since he was off on Sunday. I would highly recommend any of you looking for a storage locker call the Sterling Heights istorage.
My fiancé and I rented a unit with the Manager Mark over the phone. The process was quick and easy. He made it painless for us during the Covid pandemic. When we dropped our stuff yesterday he drove out to us. He stayed 10 plus feet away and had a mask on. He made sure our gate code worked and that we were happy with our storage locker. I’d highly recommend using the iStorage on 16 mile in Sterling Heights.
Today my husband and myself went to our storage locker. While we moved our stuff around in our locker a young man came and started talking to my husband. He addressed him by name and they spoke like old friends. He introduced himself to me as Mark. When he left I told my husband he was a nice man. William told me that Mark had been here a few years and had become a friend and they always talked football and coaching when he was at our locker or in the office paying our bill. You really don’t find that level of customer service anymore. I feel safer knowing my husband who’s going on 80 has someone watching him when he’s at the storage locker.
Spoke with the manager Mark last week and set up our appointment for earlier today. My girlfriend rented us a unit today and it was very easy. While we were there the person in the next locker told us the manager is always out and about helping guests and upgrading the property. Seems like a good place to rent.
We moved our stuff into this facility today. We had just left Public Storage because the unit the showed us was filthy and the ceiling was all torn up. When we arrived at iStorage we found the manager hand washing unit doors. I knew at that second this was the place for our stuff. He heard our story about our last encounter and didn’t talk down about the competition. He calmly took us to see a locker that was very clean and the ceiling was perfect. This is the place I will recommend to anyone looking for a storage locker. Go see the manager Mark for not only a great deal but a friendly conversation.
We rented here a few years ago for about a year. Last week we got a new locker with iStorage in Sterling Heights. The first thing we noticed when we pulled up was how nice the landscaping looked. A man was outside cutting bushes. He stopped and came over and opened the car door for my girlfriend and greeted us. They had painted since the last time we had rented and it looked very nice. The manager told us of all the improvements the new company had sunk into the place and you could really tell this man was proud of his work and enjoyed it.We found out the mans name was Mark and we had a really long talk with him about what we needed. He listened and recommended a bigger unit then we wanted to get. He could tell we were hesitating on getting the bigger unit so he took us to what we thought we needed and had us tell him where we were going to put everything. He was right. Most people I just assume are trying to up sell you. This man actually cared and explained how we might have to unload everything twice and he was trying to save us the hassle. It just made so much sense to do the bigger unit and the bigger unit had a month free.If anyone reading this is on the fence about where to rent a unit then please do yourself a favor and go see Mark at the iStorage on 16 mile in Sterling Heights. My wife rented us a unit then we had her sister come in and rent one 2 days later.
Today I paid off my very past due bill. The whole time we went through the process the man I was dealing Mark was very nice and helpful and never made me feel shameful for getting behind. He understood occasionally life might kick you. People like him are the reason companies build loyalty from their tenants.
What an easy experience. I had just come from another local self storage company because my rates had been raised 3 times in 1 year. The manager Mark seemed trustworthy and gave me prices upfront with no hidden costs or fees. When we went to look at my locker he stopped his car to pick up a piece of trash on the grass. That seems like a silly thing to post about but it made me feel this man cared.
What a great, pleasant, fast, and easy experience. We are going through a very stressful divorce and move currently. I was so stressed about moving my stuff into a storage place. Mark made it simple. He called us and answered all our questions over the phone. Then when we were there he went over the paperwork with us and showed us the locker. The locker was clean and even had lighting in it and outside of it. We got a month free with our locker so that was a huge bonus. If you need a place is ask for Mark at the Sterling Heights iStorage.
My wife and I came into the location and when we got there the manager was dealing with a tense situation and we watched him handle it with respect and compassion. When it was over he stood and apologized we had to hear that. He said his name was Mark and told us about the company. He showed us a unit and we agreed to sign up. He even gave us a free month. He did a great job explaining the deatails to us. This man seemed sincere and professional mixed with the right amount of humor. When we went to the unit to take the lock off and start unpacking the light string was to short for my wife but it was fine for me. I told Mark it was no big deal but he would not hear it. He went and got a ladder and put a brand new longer cord on the light and explained I might not always be there with my wife and he wanted her to feel safe. This is the kind of employee other companies should want to steal.
The manager there took the time to explain the unit I had in mind wasn’t big enough for me to put my stuff into. He showed me both the unit I thought I needed and the unit he thought I needed. He was right. I appreciated not having to put my stuff in twice. I will recommend to everyone that needs a storage place to go see him. The office was clean and so was my locker.
Today we signed a lease with Mark at iStorage on 16 mile. Mark was so patient with us. He called us after we made the reservation and then called us the day before we were to come and get our locker. He had most of the work done when we got there. It was quick easy and painless. There are 2 other storage places closer to us and we chose IStorage because the manager made us feel like we were welcome there.
Renting a storage unit is so easy at iStorage. The office staff was incrediblynice and helpful. Explained everything in detail. Even showed me my unit in person and offered any assistance. I would recommend them to anyone looking to store items at a self storage facility.
Getting a storage unit at istorage is super easy and quick, the prices are fair, the space is nice and customer service is excellent. The location off 16 mile between mound and van dyke is easy to get in and out of because it is on the service drive, and I usually have the place to myself when I drop off items to my unit.
We have been renting here for awhile. Today I was having trouble opening my unit because I had my arm in a cast. I called up to the office and the manager Mark came out in less then 1 minute and opened my door for me. He helped me grab the box I needed loaded it and shut my locker. He even opened and closed my car door for me. That’s the kind of service you just don’t see anymore.
We came here earlier this week and my boyfriend rented us a storage unit at IStorage. We had just come from another local store where we left because it was dirty and the lady behind the counter just didn’t seem to want to help because it was 100 degrees out. When we got to the IStorage the manager came out and shook our hands. He took us out and showed us 5 different units in the almost 100 degree heat. He never complained and offered to show us more. He got us the locker we needed and sold us a very nice lock for it. Our locker is right under a big light box so I will feel more safe at night if we go there. Thank you Mark for caring about us even when it was so hot out.
There was a system error when I started to use this storage. But very supported Staff; Patricia helped me to get resolved it even after the office hour. Furthermore, the manager of storage restored a system error to help the customer immediately. Very supporting and nice facility staffs and clean facility.Strongly recommending this store.It is required to adjust the time stamping on their surveillance system. slightly behind the accurate time.For future customer1. $20 admin fee. when you move in2. They allow a prorated monthly fee for the move in after the 1st of every month but they dont have this system, when you move out.
I found this place after my other place sold the unit I reserved. I can’t remember his name and I’m truly sorry for that. Thank you for being so kind to us and treating us like people vs a $$$. You explained everything to us and went above and beyond! Even my 11 year old was highly impressed! Keep up the hard work!!!
The manager Mark called me to introduce himself and welcome me to the property. He made sure I knew exactly how to get there. I got there at 5 mins until close on a Sunday. He didn’t rush me, he didn’t act annoyed. He just took care of me and got me into my storage locker.
We rented a unit for my mother, who’s a senior citizen this past winter. She raves to us about how the man who works there. He is so helpful my mother always tells us. He shoveled out the front of her unit for her. She said he gets up to open the door for her when she arrives and when she leaves. I will rent a unit here in the future.
This location is Simply the Best.... Patty and Danielle are very knowledgeable, and accommodating to suit your needs. They are very welcoming and went above and beyond the call of duty to help me... If youre looking for storage, this is the place you want . I could not be any more or satisfied with my experience at this Simply location .Eric....
I work for one of the commercial contractors that stores trucks here. The manager has always been firm and fair with us. Mark is always cleaning up around the property. Since he came aboard the gate got fixed and he got new lights for the property. Safety is not a concern for us.
If you are looking for a storage facility that looks out for you, treats you with respect and calls you right away if there is anything wrong with your unit then Simply Self Storage is the place. When there was a problem with my unit the office called me for 3 straight days until I was able to call them back. I dont need a storage unit anymore but if that should ever change I will definitely be using SSS in Sterling Heights. They are the only place I trusted with my property for the last 4 years.
Very very poor management. They charge residents a mandatory fee for insurance even if you have your own insurance and you are not allowed to pick your coverages or carrier. They dont shovel quickly in the winter and theres always someone stuck in the parking lot. Prices are really high and go up once or twice a year. So even if you rent space on a move-in low-rate special youll end up paying full price within a year.
Im reasonable and patient, but this was not a good experience. I made three phone calls, left a message and waited over an hour for a return phone call. The manager status was on site and the store was listed as open. It was during hours of operation and the manager couldnt be bothered to answer the phone. To not be contactable during store hours is absolutely unprofessional. Taking my business somewhere else.
Called and asked for prices and size suggestion. The woman on the phone was very helpful and knowledgeable. She took the extra few minutes to help me with all of my questions and concerns. I am moving to the area from out of state and will defiantly be storing here. THANK YOU!!

2022-06-10I got this storage unit a few years ago for $225 and had no idea 2 years later they would keep raising the price so significantly that I’m now paying $430 a month for it.Update to my review: I spoke with the regional manager Adam who has helped with the ease of the increase and was beyond nice about it. He was more than helpful!

John at the Sterling Heights, MI location was very helpful in aiding me in my decision for what unit best met my needs. Excellent customer service is so rare these days, it was very refreshing to work with someone wanting to work with you.

2022-04-12Have used other istorage locations for winter vehicle storage without any issue. Changed to this location for winter 2021 due to unit availability.Location increased rate by 18% just 3 months after starting a new lease. Then they attempted to continue automated invoices after the unit was confirmed as vacated. Refund is in process, but the attempt is unacceptable.Location is nice and staff was friendly, but I have not had any similar business issues at other istorage locations and both issues combined did not make for a good impression.

2020-09-24My girlfriend rented us a storage locker this week. We spoke with a call center and then Mark called us from the property. He was very helpful in getting us the correct sized unit. Super easy and we did 99% of the work over the phone so it was safe for her.

2020-10-24We originally rented 1 unit here. The manager convinced me rent a parking spot also when he noticed we were leaving our car in the neighbors lot. Today we moved out of the parking spot we rented. Mark spoke to us in the office for 15 mins asking how he could earn back our business in the future and what make might make the property more desirable. You can tell he cares about his job and his customers. If we ever need a parking spot again we will go back and sign another lease with Mark.
