If we could leave no stars and just post a review, we would! Over a month now and no answer or call back from anyone, no DC and to make matters worse our loved one has yet to be returned to us. Each time we call we get put on hold or no one knows what or why what happened. The service was cut short and the employees were subtly rude, considering the situation at the time. We are not the type to cause trouble or stir up a fuss but I would not recommend this place to a grieving pet owner. I hope this gives you a balanced perspective.

17 January 2022Hello Ms. Cole,The Family of Mr. Sam McCane (Funeral on 11 December 2021 at the West Grand Blvd Location) simply wanted to thank you for all that you’ve done for families but thank you specifically what you did for our family. We observed your staff display excellent customer service. In addition, we saw your staff take care of the deceased’s primary family member while accommodating other family members when it was appropriate. The drama that they faced made the small challenges in our family appear very minor in comparison. Blessings on you and your entire staff. Thank You. If there is anything that we can do for you, then don’t hesitate to ask.Very Respectfully,Lorenzo Ray Phillips(Mr. McCane’s Nephew)

James H. Cole Funeral Home is the best. The service was friendly, professional and efficient. Mr. Brice Green was caring and very transparent about the cost and everything. I would use this funeral home again…I hope not soon😊.

They are a very over priced funeral home on top off them lying about the cremation process!!! Then I asked how much 2 pick up my mothers body they said 200 not 1 but 2 employees stated the same price but since I chose clora funeral home over them which was a 2000 dollar difference they charged me 250 what a scam to put on someone that jus lost their mother 🤷‍♀️

After losing my grandmother and being the sole person to handle everything , I had no clue how I could get through it. Brice Green is truly an earth angel! He took his time to explain the process thoroughly, he is extremely professional and most of all he showed so much empathy. My grandmother was laid to rest like the queen she is and my family and I want to credit that to Brice. Thank you so much!

You are 100% correct i did ask u 2 pick up my mothers body HOWEVER before I asked u to do that I asked u how much would that cost mr.brown said 200 that was Thursday,... I met with Carmen Stewart on Saturday to discuss pricing for a funeral to be held at your firm AND AGAIN asked her is it 200 for picking up my mothers body in case I dont choose yo funeral home for services Carmen stated yes the price was very clear from 2 of your employees!!! I didnt choose your services so your firm price went up 50 dollars? And yes 50 dollars is a lot 2 an only child/single mother with 2 kids!! Hardship wasnt on a family! JUST ME!!! FYI...Carmen is who was DISHONEST WHEN SHE SAID THAT SHE DIDNT SAY THAT!!!!! WHEN IN FACTSHE DID, Then somehow u can up with a lie saying she didnt want to correct me at the time that we are discussing pricing for services 2 be held AT YOUR ESTABLISHMENT!! HUh 🤔 why not?? So basically u miss guide a customer on pricing then when its time to pay 200 u hold my mother HOSTAGE? Seemed as if that would have been the exact time and place for her to correct me RIGHT???SCAM!!! U SAY THEY MADE A MISTAKE? So I paid for both of your EMPLOYEES MISTAKE im sure u are OK with that!!!! MY MOTHER WILL BE properly laid 2 rest!!! THANKS 4 YO CONCERN🤦‍♀️!!! Your response to my first review shows the character of you and the representation of your funeral home!!! so thank for picking up my mother i paid for that and I paid 50 DOLLARS FOR NOT CHOOSING YOUR SERVICES AS WELL 🧏‍♀️ RETRAIN YOUR STAFF SO THIS TYPE OF SITUATION NEVER OCCURS AGAIN!! 50 MAYBE NOTHING 2 YOUR FUNERAL HOME AND MAYBE A WHOLE LOT 2 SOMEONE ELSE LIFE SO DONT BE SO QUICK 2 DOWN PLAY SOMEONE FINANCES especially at a time of grievance!!!!! Wish I could give no stars for your reply 2 my 1st review Yo Yo

I had two family members that passed away we used Cole both times. They are very professional and respectful at what they do. They made the planning process very easy. My loved ones looked peaceful and looked like their normal self. I really appreciate their professionalism and warm courtesy during such a difficult time.

If you are cremating your loved one, DO NOT USE JAMES H. COLE FUNERAL HOME.If you need full service, embalming, casket, service, limos, etc. this is probably your place. My family has used Coles for at least 6 family members’ funerals with no issues. I used them to cremate my Father in 2014. Mr. Green at the Northwest Chapel, was beyond nonchalant as he went through the paperwork formalities with my Mother and I. We were told that we would be contacted once a doctor had signed the death certificate, which is required before cremation can occur. Several days passed and no one from the funeral home called. My Mother was very distraught waiting for that call. I called approximately 3 days after we had made the arrangements and paid, in-full, for the cremation, only to be told by Mr. Green that the doctor still had not signed off on the death certificate and that we would basically just have to wait. I called back and received the same answer. That same day, I called the main office on the boulevard and spoke with Ms. Karla Cole. Ms. Cole immediately contacted “someone” and got my father’s death certificate right away. God only knows how long we would have been waiting if I had not initiated some action. As the “daughter” of the deceased and a paying client, I should not have had to take on this burden. My mother passed in late June of 2016. After 6 successful funerals and 1 lousy cremation process, I made the mistake of giving Cole’s another chance. As a previous reviewer experienced, I too had an incredibly long wait for my mother’s body to be picked up from the nursing home. I initially called the funeral home at approximately 1:40 a.m.. After numerous calls to the funeral home inquiring about the pick-up, my mother was not picked up until 5:30 a.m. I had to talk the driver in to the location, via cell phone, (he was lost) and I had to meet him at the driveway entrance in my car and guide him to the door. Again, more burden on the grieving family member.Once the paperwork had been processed and the services paid for, again, no one called to give me the date / time of the cremation. After several unreturned calls from the funeral home I was transferred to MR. GREEN!!! and AGAIN told that the death certificate had not been signed and that it was out of their control. Miraculously, during the same telephone conversation, after I went on a tirade about being treated poorly because we were not having a $10,000 dollar plus funeral, only a cremation, Mr. Green was able to give me an exact date and time for the cremation.DO NOT subject yourself and your family members to poor, POOR, customer service at a time of terrible heartbreak and loss. Ask around and find a funeral home with a better reputation.

Cole Funeral Home does not honor Veterans. We asked that our family member have an Honor Guard. We were told that only active soldiers killed in duty were allowed that benefit. All vets as long as they are honorably discharged are entitled to an Honor Guard. The family has to request it and the funeral home makes the arrangements. They said our loved one would have a 3 gun volley salute at the cemetery, well that didnt happen.Very sad, this man was a Korean War Vet and deserved to be honored by the country he served.Shame on you Cole Funeral home😔! You deserve 0 stars!!
