Comment: Just finished up my move about an hour ago and it was such a fantastic and seamless experience! We reached out to Jay’s about two weeks out and fortunately our preferred date/time was available. They were in constant communication with us and even went out of their way to sort out a last-minute SNAFU. On moving day, a team of three (Omar, Francisco V., and Jose F.) came to pack up our apartment and move us from SF to San Jose. They were super quick and careful, and even offered to take stuff we hadn’t put in boxes. Once we arrived at the new apartment, they were patient as we figured out the elevator and unloaded everything very quickly. This is my fourth move using movers and I was honestly stressed at first from some awful experiences but Jay’s has been without a doubt the best mover by far and we will be using them if we ever move again and recommending them to everyone we know!

Comment: We had two crews on different days: Darwin, Luis, and José packed all of our things one day, then Santos, Antonio, and Francisco bundled up the furniture and moved everything to our new place.They were worth every single penny (and their rate was totally reasonable). Both crews did a fantastic job considering how much stuff we’ve collected over the years. The packing team dealt with my agonizing over what needed to be boxed and worked so fast. They had all the supplies to package 50 boxes and were so careful wrapping fragile pieces. The movers dealt with me changing my mind over the placement of a ridiculously heavy cabinet…twice. They blanketed the TV and other big furniture perfectly and disassembled/reassembled everything faster than I could blink.I really hope this is our forever home and we never move again, but I’d call Jay’s again without a doubt. Especially with these crews!

Comment: Fantastic service from Jay’s Small Moves. Moved our one bedroom apartment in Berkeley into some U-Haul boxes to move across state. The entire move was done in 3 hours. Movers were on sight promptly when they said they would be. They were very friendly and professional and even saved us $1000 on an extra U-Haul box with their mastery of packing (and probably Tetris).Francisco, Jonathan and Larry were our movers and they were the best crew I’ve ever worked with. Would definitely use Jay’s Small Moves again.

You can only book via phone call but they are very prompt in following up and scheduling your move. They were also honest about us needing more manpower and gave us a new estimate. I got a confirmation call about our move the day before too!Be prepared to give an itemized list of everything that needs to be moved or at least an estimate of furniture and number of boxes. Today is moving day and they were early and are moving are stuff efficiently. Support local businesses!

Comment: Five stars for Jays and would give more if I could. I had a cross-country move with Upack, which drops off the back half of a semi that you load. A week before the move, my apartment manager said I could not have the semi dropped off in our small parking lot. So I called Jays to help me move my apartment with their truck into the truck at the Upack facility. It was stressful !!!!! But I was able to schedule Jays with only two phone calls. On moving day, my 3 movers were so nice. They worked VERY hard and were VERY fast with many VERY heavy items including a small piano. Boxes were stacked all the way to the top of the semi, and it was a full 3-bedroom (plus garage) move. Today I unpacked the truck and the movers here at the destination all complimented their truck loading. They had done a lot of extra work to secure loose items and had wrapped many pieces in plastic to protect and secure them. Because of them, this move went much much better than I expected. Thank you very much to everyone at Jays! I would not hesitate one second to hire them again, except that now Im on the East Coast!

Comment: All I can say is WOW! Moving with Jay’s Small Moves was phenomenal. It all started with requesting a quote, which was super easy. From there, I worked with George in the back office to make sure everything was ready for a moving day 10 days away (I was in a hurry and reached out late, but they were able to squeeze me in). George was very communicative over phone and email. He made sure all of my moving needs were met including some specifics around my certificate of insurance. Then came move day, and I got to work with Santos, José, and Izzy. All three of them were so nice, fast, and communicative. They took great care of all our items from heavy to delicate. I can’t emphasize enough how great these three were. They worked so hard and fast and with plenty of laughs and smiles going around. Loved Jay’s and would highly recommend!

I had friends who had used other movers warn me that they all will do last minute upselling for packing materials etc, but I did not experience this AT ALL with Jays. (I did read and follow their instructions for packing, of course.) I would normally move it all myself but SO GLAD these strong professional guys did it! Quickly, punctually, and at a great price. A friend talked me into using movers because, as a nurse, if I injure myself stubbornly moving heavy furniture, I could be out of work for quite a while. So worth it!!! Moving is stressful enough!

They were very professional and courteous and efficient, and took great care of my things, wrapping them well to avoid damage. They called ahead to let me know they would be 15 minutes late for the pickup, which I appreciated. After I set up the initial contract, I submitted my replies and inventory lists that they requested. I got no acknowledgement. So, my one suggestion would be to acknowledge receipt of e-mails that lock in the contract and at least of the initial inventory information provided to them. Thank you Jays!

Comment: I used Jays for a move in Berkeley in June. I was moving to a different unit in the same complex (in the building across the street from the old unit). I have used Jays before and the experience was great again. In all cases, they have been reliable, punctual, and got the job done within the minimum time so that the cost was what they had quoted.Chris was in charge of his team (three people total) and did a really amazing job leading the move. They were quick, organized, careful, and all really nice and professional. Chris was really thorough too in making sure furniture items were wrapped as needed and took apart/put back together my bed frame.My move was a bit complicated because I had a senior kitty who had a stroke a couple of months prior and lost his sight and hearing. I couldnt move my kitty until the bedroom was fully set up in the new unit. Chris was extremely compassionate and helped plan the move/setup so that we could all move my kitty and his stuff all at once at the end. They were all really understanding and kind.A family member is moving in with me soon from San Jose to Berkeley and Ive booked Jays again for the upcoming move. Highly recommend.

Comment: The team from Jays Small Moves was great!My move (1 bedroom) was on Fri, June 2 and the team, Chris, Ru, and Dante, were super - very communicative (Chris called to give me an ETA), fast and efficient! It took them just under four hours to get every thing out of my old place (two flights of stairs and no elevator) and into my new place (elevator building but they did have to carry the sofa up three flights of stairs since it didnt fit in the elevator). They were very careful (including taking the kegs off of the sofa and wrapping/unwrapping my glass tables and taking the shelves out of the cabinet) but they were also hustling and not wasting time. Nothing broke. These guys deserve a raise!Also, I found the communication with the company to be stellar - I got multiple emails asking for specific information about my move, if I needed an insurance certificate for my new building, and confirmation emails, all of which I appreciated.Ill definitely recommend Jays Small Moves (and especially the team of Chris, Ru, and Dante) to anyone who needs movers in the Bay Area.

They end up charged me almost twice as much. There are three men crew and they moved very slowly so they can charge me more than three hours. JAY’s SMALL Move but they CHARGE YOU TWICE the QUOTE! Jay’s Small Move but they OVER CHARGE YOU!!! They are NOT HONEST!!! DON’T USE THEM. I don’t know where they get the reviews from!!! Each move had a different crew. Comment: I hired Jay’s for a very small move of a family member’s furniture. The crew showed up on time and were very efficient, completing the job ahead of schedule. The cost was considerable but “you get what you pay for” as they say. I would have given more than 4 stars except for the fact that Jay’s did not know if the crew was vaccinated. I was moving furniture out of and then back into a senior living facility where vaccination status was important as well as a necessary requirement. Jay’s did not want to step up and insist that all employees be vaccinated to protect other people. Luckily, the two facilities dealt with this deficiency with rapid testing at the intake facility and we got the job done. This was a chicken approach by an otherwise good outfit.

Started with the online form submission and was contacted via email from the company within 24 hours initiating the process of figuring out what services we needed and the forms/etc needed to be done.Company was very helpful along the process, especially during parts that I forgot to do.Was able to schedule a move 1 week out without scheduling issues.The movers on the day of move were also responsive. They let us know when they finished the previous job and were planning to head over to us, and kept us updated along the way.The movers were incredibly quick but complete on the packing/moving out process. I really appreciated how they simplified the moving of items process but bunching as much together and being able to wrap them all up to several major batches.The movers were also very helpful in being able to help dismantle my mothers bedframe and helpfully reassembled the bedframe at the new location.Overall, would utilize again. Cost was about $600 for a one bedroom type of move.

Highly recommend Jays Small Moves.I had made a reservation a couple weeks out and needed to change the date a week prior, they were super accommodating and managed to give us a large truck too. They followed up with emails and the day before called and emailed to confirm again. Morning of they had some truck issue and called to give us a heads up -- no big deal; appreciated the communication. 15 mins later than planned, they arrived, we did a walk through of what needed to be moved. An hour and half later they had packed their truck up and we were on our way to meet them at the next stop. Did another walkthrough of where things should go and an hour later they were done. I was impressed. The guys were great -- friendly and cautious. They were careful with our belongings. Both times, I found it easy to arrange the moves over the phone, and the men who moved my things showed up promptly, were very fast workers and got the job done to my satisfaction. There was only one very minor scrape to a large heavy cabinet in my living room, and this was, if not inevitable, understandable, I suppose. When Jays men moved me back into my apartment, I had just had it repainted, so I really wanted the movers to take every precaution to avoid scraping the walls, and they did. This was not easy, as there is a narrow hallway leading into my living room, but they didnt scrape a single bit of paint off the walls. Jays was recommended to me by a friend who had used them, and I would also recommend them to others.

First off, my initial phone call was SO helpful, and I was asked questions like how many boxes I had, large-size furniture to consider, appliances to move, any furniture to dissemble. I was given guidance on how many people in the crew were needed as well as a rough estimate of hours that my move would take, which was helpful in getting an estimate. Their prices are very fair and everything is clearly shared up front. I received multiple emails with helpful details leading up to the move. On move day, my driver was on time and called me in advance. My movers were Dylan, Curtis and Jaleen. Throughout the move, their professionalism was exemplary. Jay Small Moving has responsible office workers who would keep reminding you when the moving day is coming through the email and phone. When the worker started on their way, they would call you at once and tell you the estimated arrival time. The workers worked effectively and nice! We have local moving in the same city, two large furniture, one coach and one queen bed, around 25 medium size boxes from Home Depot. Furniture was padded and packed with care and then set up in the new location with the same care. Final bill was a little higher than the estimate but it was big move (filled two trucks), so OK.An excellent experience and well be calling them back in less than a year for another move. They knocked out a huge move efficiently, anticipated where some big furniture went in the new place before I even had to tell them, and even moved a 40 gallon fish tank that had water and fish in it still because I hadnt finished prepping it for the move. That thing weighed a ton with all the rocks and water I hadnt removed, and the fish had to survive the trip-- which they did. Not a word of complaint or a sideways glance, and the team was soaked in sweat at the end of the move with big smiles and lively banter throughout. I hired them to move my mom after my dads passing and she had the same experience. She told me at one point she was overwhelmed and sat on the bed a started crying, when one of the movers came to check on her and offer her some kind words. The human touch makes a difference and shell never forget the genuine empathy of that moment. Shes moving again soon and is going to use them. If I ever move again I will look no further than Jays Moves.

Comment: I was in a panic - neither of the first 2 moving companies answered their phones or returned my messages 2 weeks out from when I was supposed to move. I wasnt able to take much time off from work so packing was going slowly as well... 11-14hr work days and trying to pack as many boxes as I could for 2-3 hours when I got home. Who knew how much one person could accumulate in 11 years in a one bedroom apartment? A week out, I saw a listing for Jays Small Moves. I called and thankfully I got an answer. It was my first time using movers since, 11 years ago, the only furniture I had was a dresser, a chair bed, and a custom built mahogany entertainment cabinet. Making the appointment was easy... much easier than packing! Due to highly underestimating how many boxes were needed and not having enough hands to fill boxes, I ended up needing a second appointment 2 days after the crew came out. Both crews were amazing - polite, efficient, and careful. I only had two pieces that I really wanted taken care of, the dresser and the entertainment cabinet and they did an amazing job in wrapping and handling both items. So they moved all my stuff into a storage unit while I save up for a condo or townhome. When the time comes for moving into my permanent home, I will definitely be calling Jay!

They didn’t even ask for a deposit and I could cancel at the last minute. That all made me feel so comfortable given the stress of my move.Darwin, Jose, and Cody made my move smooth and efficient. Comment: We had to move quickly last summer and Jays Small Moves made the process really easy and stress-free ! Eli, Franchesco, and Abel were outstanding. They had to carry many heavy boxes of records and move some very heavy sofa beds as well as many other items. They did it all with a high degree of professionalism and with great good humor. We were so impressed with their friendly dispositions and efficiency. Comment: Fantastic move experience. We had an odd situation, moving our stuff into storage, then will do a cross country move next year. Not only did Jays team get our stuff quickly into storage, but they took the time to protect everything potentially breakable for the long distance move (which theyre not doing) with packing materials and cardboard, charging very little for the materials. They managed to get the all the stuff Tetrised into a tiny storage space, too, and even left the house spotless. I wish we could hire them for our long move!

Comment: We had an absolutely stellar experience with Jays. The crew of Joel, Darwin, Sebastian, Humberto, Ira and Miguel are the guys you want to request. These gentlemen were extremely hard working, quick, careful, organized, neat, professional and friendly. With the addition of our attic, our move was larger than expected and they arranged for a 4th truck and extra hands immediately, so as not to slow down the process. They worked with my husband and me as a team as we cleared out one home and moved to the next. They accommodated all our needs, moving furniture, assembling furniture, and were very helpful with any on the fly requests. At the end of the move-in they walk with us through the house and asked if we were happy with everything. They made minor adjustments we need (ie moving a piece of furniture, carrying out unwanted furniture to our garage, etc.). We would highly recommend this group and company. We have 3 small children and A LOT of things and Jays team made our move feel easy and our new house was left very organized for us to unpack. Overall it was a great experience.

Comment: We moved in November 2017 within the city of San Francisco. I asked 5 different moving companies for a quote. While many of them were quite similar in price this one was the only company which would bill in smaller increments than one hour: If the move would take 3h 15min they would not bill for 4h.We only communicated by email and text; in both cases they responded quickly. The contract was signed on the day of the move. Before that I asked the company for a proof of insurance which they sent me.The estimated arrival time was 9am but the truck only showed up at 10am. Considering that this is San Francisco this is not too bad. We moved a 2 bedroom apartment from the 3rd floor to a 2 bedroom apartment on the first floor. We asked for 3 movers. They did not have to pack anything, all things had already been boxed by us. However, we asked them to disassemble and assemble a bed and a sofa. During the move we (2 adults) helped carrying boxes.The move took almost exactly 3h 30m, not including their 20m lunchbreak. Nothing was broken and the team was quick and efficient.I have no complaints and would use them again for any other move.

The movers were friendly and professional and worth every penny-- and they were a very reasonable amount of pennies. Comment: I moved into a 3rd floor walk-up and was worried about how we would get all of the stuff upstairs. Because I had some heavier items, I ended up requesting 3 guys for the minimum two hour window because it was less expensive than 2 guys for 3 hours. I anticipated that due to the stairs and heavier items that it would still take over 2 hours. Their arrival was prompt and everything they did was so fast. The guys were very nice and efficient and did a great job moving all of my items in. There were a few items that had to be moved from room to room (because I didnt say where to put them) and they had no problem with that and were quick. They brought materials to wrap up items. I think I paid a little bit extra for the mattress wrapping, but they saved me a lot of money by finishing in exactly the two hour window. Overall, it was a great experience and I will definitely use them again, but that hopefully wont be for a long time. Thanks Jays!

This last move, we only hired Jay’s to move the big items. The guys are courteous, efficient and professional.I particularly liked that they had provided us (at an additional charge, which is no problem) with additional wardrobe boxes. We were short on those and the ones they had provided were used until they were pretty much falling apart! Also, the information they give you in advance regarding preparing for the movers and moving insurance were also helpful. The guy who took my call as I secured the moving date was detailed and thorough, as well as polite.I would recommend their services to anyone finding a moving service. They have helped with everything from delivering Ikea furniture to taking furniture from storage to 3 whole house moves after my divorce.
