If I could give them zero stars, I would!!!! This place has THE MOST HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!!! With this location being less then 15 minutes away, I try to go to this location for items. But I rather travel to Novi for services! The Jewelry department workers are rude ( she spent her time helping someone else for 30 minutes who didnt even make a purchase... I left the store and went to Novi for the 400 dollar purchase); the Sephora MUAs/workers are horrible (literally I waited at the counter so long to get rang out, I left everything there and left); and the best part of everything was customer pick up (I waited in line so long just to be told sorry its an error on our behalf your items havent arrived yet). I called the store just to let the manager, Eric, know how horrible services were.... after waiting for 10 minutes the operator took my info and said she would have him get in touch with me...... I still have not heard from him! Go to another location!!! PLEASE DO NOT GO TO FAIRLANE!
Absolutely worst experience ever!! I had a cashier actually scream at me when I tried to return something. She was on the phone when I came to the desk and three of us stood there for 10 minutes. Then she wouldn’t return a pair of pants because she said they were worn…they still had the pins in so I’m not sure how she came to that conclusion. This place is disgusting.
Bad service. Cashier name Linda was really rude and unprofessional. Tag on my item said 1.35 clearance and she scanned and said 4.99. I told her sticker said 1.35 but she didnt want to give it at that price. I told her I want a refund she said no and to go to customer service. Her attitude was what made me upset. Really bad cashier. Jcpenney on Fairlane Mall is not like before service is horrible. Well the whole mall is not the same.
Had a good selection of clothing I was looking for. Reasonable prices too. The downside was at checkout. Every time Ive been there, checkout moves at a snails pace. Never experienced that slow of checkout service at any other store where I shop. Hoping its improved since my last visit.
I love shopping at this store! I always find what I’m looking for. It is a good and convenient place for shopping. The store has a great deals on furniture, bedding, electronics, and home decor. Also, it has a lot of variety of collections of favorite brands including: shoes, purses, and clothing. In addition, personal care items including makeup, perfumes, hair products, skin care products, and more are available in the store. Good quality items and good prices. It is neat, and organized. The employees are very helpful and the waiting time is approximately 10 to 15 minutes. A place for the whole family.
It was nice, my old stomping ground I use to go to back sometime ago. I brought some shampoo it was nice to see the salon open. It was so dead no body was there, no money and covid is keeping the people away. I was sad but it was a week day so that could have been a factor too. I missed the people but it will probably get busy around the hoilday.
They have lots of variety of everything you can think of in clothing. It is neat, well organized and very clean! Smells clean and new. The quality of the clothing is Good! They do have dressing rooms so that you can make sure you buy the perfect size for you. I love shopping at this store!
Im going to stop shopping at this location I was there me and my 2 little boys and they was trying the hats and the worker she comes over and snatched the hats from my little boys heads I go tell the supervisor she tells me she will find out how was that. I dont like that.
The manger was not helpful. We were returning a defective valet bag. We did not have a receipt and she stated since she didnt have the product in her store she couldnt help even though she looked up the receipt on line. We found the tags and took the item back only to find the exact item on the store. No reason to lie.
Went for lunch to Mexicantown and decided to check the mall for some dress shoes for my 6 year old since Canada doesn’t believe in them! First the price advertised was 29.99 i grabbed the shoes but trying to pay was ridiculous. Went to 3 different cash out places all closed didn’t see one employee the whole time. When I finally got to a place with cashiers they charge me more for the shoes because i did not sign up for their credit card! I took an hour to pay! Ridiculous
The store is not staffed properly, and because of that I get frustrated. I was able to finally locate a gentleman for assistance only to find out in order for me to get the other 2 curtains, I would either need to order them on line or go into another JC Penneys. I chose the latter.
This location has a really good selection and reasonable prices. When you can find them, the staff is friendly and helpful.The only challenge is that they tend to be short-staffed. Therefore, finding someone can be a challenge, which is the only reason why this place doesnt get 5 stars.
We used them for a family photo shoot. Only one of the photographers has a gift of capturing the moment.... The others are clearly amateurs... However, theyre trying and i love their attitude :) Theyre all professional, nice, and kind.... And where stuff doesnt come out the way it should be, theyll make up for it ;)
JCPenney has always been and probably will always be, one of the all-time greats, when it comes to shopping. Went into JCPenney yesterday, to do some quick shopping. Everything went smoothly. I found exactly what I was looking for. We Will Always Love You JC Penny. Thank you for caring about the community, with your reasonable prices and great quality merchandise.
I went there to return a swimsuit I had bought a few days prior. I had the receipt and the tags for the swimsuit, but the cashier refused to refund me. The reason she was refusing, was because the tags were not attached to the swimsuit. Tags get ripped off of clothes very easily. Shoot! half the time when you buy clothes at the store usually the tags are missing and that deos not seem to hinder them from selling it to you at all. If the manager had not overheard the conversation, I would not have gotten refund.
Enjoyed shopping at J C Pennys.had a good sale and a good selection of school uniforms pants for junior girls. Wish they had more skirts. Nice sale on shoes as well a good selection of large sizes as well as wide.Will definitely shop their again. Customer service I would rate about a 8 had to locate sale rep were not available. There were 2 to 3 cashiers at each register available in each department i went to.
Im was disappointed with my shopping experience. The store merchandise was junkie and difficult to sort through. And there was no staff available to help me find what I was searching for. I was so frustrated I let the store without purchase despite the fact that they had the best price for the items I wanted. I spend almost twice as much buying from a competitor. I want to shop with you JCP but you have to do much better. Hire some help and tidy up
Great, I feel like I hit the lotto. I got an extra 10.00 off for applying for the Jcpenny card, along with an extra 20% off for putting my purchase on my new jcpenney card. There were so many buy 1 get one 50% off sales that I had to go back and spend more money on other items I wasnt even looking to buy. The young gentleman that helped me was a pleasure.
Nice place. Features great brands (including thier own). Products are great. Their quality is good. Clean and organized environment. Great customer service. Good for quick shopping trips. Features a variety of products, from kitchen utensils to jewelry. Their return policy is great! I recommend JC Penney.
Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service except for one representative, unclean and disorganized store and no accountability when the associate processed my order incorrectly. I called the store with a question and was left on hold, without warning that I was being placed on hold, for over 15 minutes. When I called the 1-800 number, they stated that there was nothing they could do except for reorder the item and I would pay double. Not acceptable at all.My recommendation is to take your money elsewhere. Any company that treats customers as if they are an inconvenience is not a place that you should support with your hard earned money.I hope that they fix their organizational issues.
There seems to be a shortage of associates in lingerie and appliances and furniture. Literally, no one working theses areas. No on to answer the telephones either. I had to flag security to get someone to help me. However the frige I wanted could not be delivered until OCTOBER! They did direct me to another brand with the same features and I purchased it. Will be delivered August 7th. I give them 3 stars for lack of available accociates and long wait time to be serviced.
My experiences at JCPenney was a great experience they had about four or five clearance racks and I founded me some pretty spring and summer tops but when I got to the line it was a long wait that was the only problem but when I got up to the cashier he apologizes for the long wait and that was nice I really appreciate that.😊
Will not shop at this location again. After waiting 15 minutes for someone to assist in shoe department, she was there for 30 seconds then had to walk to mens department to get something. Since I was on lunch hour, dropped my shoes at the register and left. One star is too many.
Sophie is an absolutely horrible manager. First, she couldnt tell me anything about the appliances and help me find a good fit for me. Second, there was a Clear sign that said additional 30% on floor appliances while also being continuously reassured of the sale by Sophie then turned into a waste of time when at time of payment it was no longer valid. Then continued to tell me that I could come back the next day to speak to a supervisor but she knew she was right and I was wrong.I knew the sale was valid because I went to southland mall JCP the same day, who had the same exact sale, and bought a much nicer and better stove with the help of a sales associate by the name of James. It was his first day on the floor by himself and he made me feel confident and extremely happy with my purchase. Plus I GOT A GREAT DEAL AND THE SAVED AN ADDITIONAL $300 BUCKS WITH THAT SAME SALE! SHOUT OUT TO JAMES!
Everytime I go there, everything is disorganized. If you go into the fitting room, expect piles of unwanted items in the room. Long lines at the register because they only seem to have two open on the entire floor. Also, there always seems to be a weird smell. Kind of like B.O. The last time I was there, the mens shoe section had a smell worse than B.O.
Staff continually find excuses to pawn you off to the next associate. Store looks like a hurricane passed through there. Incredibly rude cashiers that are on their phones, never making eye contact when ringing you up. Stay away from JCPenney, better yet, stay away from Fairlane.
Horrible experience, they steal your money... . Will NEVER shop at jcpenney again. Ordered a toy from this location and when i sent a family member who lives by there to pick it up, they could not find the order and have not refunded me and its been a month. I have called store 4 times, emailed and called online department and each time i call im on the phone for over an hour and still no response and refund. That is horrible customer service to not even answer my calls or emails, and bounce me around.
I went to JCPenney to purchase some gym shoes that was advertised at 19.99 upon arriving to the store taking up to an hour looking for said gym I was told that they were sold out but the sign was still up I spoke with the store manager and he was NO help this is clearly false advertising. I was lured in buy the sale of 19.99. gym shoes only to have to purchase 44$ gym shoes ,I wouldve went somewhere else...af after purchasing the higher pair I tried calling the corporate office of JCPenney only to be told they dont have a corporate office. imI done with JCPENNEY slick azz
I go here for the Professional Photos....this is the 2nd set of pictures my family has taken...I love the photographer....they work with you if you dont have the total down payment and the work is wonderful havent been disappointed yet I will continue to use there studios
Horrible horrible!!!!! Customer service was awful. Never again will I spend money in there store. I live very close to Fairlane shopping center, but I will never spend a penny in the mall thanks to JCP. They need to do a secret shopper and weed out the bad employees. It unacceptable they way it seems as there customers are bothering them. Do uour job you applied for!
Had to make a return and the cashier said she had to get her manager due to the ticket wasnt on the dress but I had the receipt . The manager told me she couldnt return it due to the ticket wasnt on it and I asked to speak to her manager so she decided to return the dress anyway.
Im very unhappy with my experience with the furniture department today..i was waiting patiently for the sale lady to take care of the customer she was with.they walk away to do whatever....ok waited a good 5 or 10 mins for her to come back with a different customer saying shell be right with us......i hope the lady you were taking care of with a (cover) was worth it because i was going to get a living room set...i wont be in there again.
Ref-the Hair Salon. I was somewhat conflicted about leaving a one. Read on and you decide. I waited about 15 minutes to be seen because the stylist was on break. When she walked in with her pop and snacks, she approached me, looked down at my shoes and said she could not cut my hair. I asked why? She explained “I am Muslim and it is against our law for me to touch another man.” I walked out.
I was waiting in line to make a payment there was 2 cashiers helping customers one off the cashiers left in the middle of a line waiting and left just the other person to take care of a line, I don’t this should be acceptable by all means even without letting the other person know

2022-07-10Its okay, the lines are shorter towards the mornings. Pros- Theres some good sales here and there. Never , absolutely never use the restrooms here. Cons -clothes usually everywhere , also pay close attention to price signage.

2022-06-22I was greeted by a wonderful cashier. But the shoe Dept was hit. Boxes and trash all over the floor. They had a great sales on shoes but they were all the shoes people had worn and returned. The soles were dirty. I brought a pair of sandals and when I got them to the car I looked at the souls they were extremely dirty.i took them back immediately..shame on you JCPenney Fairlane!!!!

2022-02-03Unfortunately, fitting rooms remain closed at this location. The website says fitting rooms are open and all stores. This is unfortunately not the case. Wasted a trip out here.I understand and respect if they are closed. But please make sure accurate information is on your website

2022-01-23I would give zero stars if I could. It should close immediately. The employees are worthless. I had to go to 3 different checkouts before someone would ring up my purchase. JCPenney used to be a decent store but those days are gone.

2022-06-11Today Saturday June 11th (03:30PM)at the Jewelry and watch Dept. we encountered the worse sales person ever( Renee) While requested to see a watch she refused to even let us hold to watch to make sure the wrist band wide enough and than she ignore us and walks away. I think the fact that my wife was wearing hijab and spoke broken English had a lot to do with it.I know they will use Covid restriction as an excuse but the fact that a sales person walks away from a customer while the customer still looking that just bad manners.If you hate your job and life that much please stay home and do not take it out on customers

2017-02-06I am a regular JCPenny shopper and cardholder and I came to the store today during my lunch break from work because it is my Mothers birthday and I wanted to get her a new jewelry piece that was within my price range today. I picked a piece, sterling silver earrings with blue diamond accent in the clearance area. The associate notified me that the color of the diamonds was a little off with the pair, but I reasoned that it should be fine since theyre stones. Theres always a bit of difference with stones. I know my gems, I know my color grades. However, I was not allowed to inspect the pair closer. Under the time constraints I purchased the pair, thinking that it would be a unique addition to my Moms jewelry collection. Not one hour later I got to my work desk to figure out how I would present the earrings. I held them in my hands and looked in the mirror holding them up near my face to see what theyd look like while I imagined them on my Mom. But something was off, something wasnt quite right. Not only was the color of the diamonds not quite matching, but the brilliance of the silver wasnt matching. I turned the pair around, inspecting more. Low and behold one earring of the pair was oxidized. The other brilliant pair was bent. Somebody had worn these earrings and returned them, well one of them anyway. Shame on you JCPenny for hiring associates with no knowledge of jewelry! Shame on you for trying to match a returned un-matched earring pair. Shame on your for not allowing your employees to allow customers to inspect their jewelry pieces thoroughly prior to purchase. Now I dont have a birthday gift for my Mom this evening and I have to waste gasoline traveling back to your store to exchange this item. Youre not my favorite store anymore. Youve lost my business, trust and good words. A true JC Faux Pas...
