A very limited store. I have shopped here most of my life. A low key clothing store. In saying that I mean the limits of types & brands & availability. Employees care always nice & helpful. I cancelled my credit card as the card company tried to charge me a few after I mailed my payment in 2-weeks early, which they neglected to correct. Ive been using credit cards for quite a while now & noone has ever done that to me. I always write in ink on the back of each payment I mail. I actually had to argue with that person on the phone, but finally agreed to cancel the $28 dollar late fee. I couldnt believe it. Well now no worries about that happening again. She actually said it was my fault. I still cant believe what happened. Oh well. Hopefully that store will remain there as Pennys Original?
The sales staff where very helpful & courteous. The store did not have the size I needed. So she went to the computer and brought up what I needed and we ordered it right then and there paid for it and free shipping right to the store. They had a good selection still of summer clothing 80% off awesome deals I need it out two extra tall for my husband and they had a really nice selection and a very nice set of tennis shoes I bought for him like the store. 👍😀
Sadly, JC Penny has really diminished in recent years. As a plus sized woman it is VERY frustrating to have to order all of my clothes online because the in store selection is horrible! I do love the fact that they now carry extended sizes, up to a 30w I believe, but it is still a pain in the behind to have to order online all the time. Also, this store used to have a dedicated online pick up area where people would go to get their orders, but for some reason they decided to close that area and force us to go to the registers and wait in line forever to get our stuff. This is not only frustrating for us, but also for other customers who have to wait for the cashier to run back to wherever to get my stuff and then finish my checkout before they can make their purchases. Not an ideal situation if you ask me.
Terrible customer service. Was looking for some pillows in the bedding department. No one to be found. Finally someone came in the department with some packages and mail. She started opening it up, seemed to be oblivious to me. I greeted her with a how are you today, she said ok, and went right back to her important mail. I probably should have pressed with my question, but honestly, I was shocked. I have over 50 years in customer service, and would have been let go if I did not make contact, or at least refer a customer to another non-busy employee. Sorry JCPenney, you have lost a longtime customer.
Amazing store with great prices. I personally shop for t-shirts and the Arizona section for guys has amazing deals, quality shirts for 7-10 dollars! I highly recommend this store and would advise you to look in the clearance section, you might find something you love.
I came into JC Penny to last-minute shop for a dress shirt for my sons band concert and was assisted by the nicest, most helpful lady I have ever encountered in retail. Her name was Judy and has been with the company for over 30 years. She went above and beyond and even searched in the back for the exact color and size that I needed for my son. Thank you Judy!
JC Penny has gone downhill. Selection is limited, not sure if that is just this location. Also, prices are inflated to make sales look more impressive. I can find similar items for much less elsewhere. I was barely shopping here to begin with and this makes me not want to return.
JCPenney like all mall stores is under immense pressure from online retailers. This store is trying to do upgrades and other improvements to make their stores more appealing to consumers. Only time will tell if these investments will actually pay off.One thing that would be nice is if they would invest in making their checkout process more efficient and faster overall. Stop telling me about my fake saving. Put it on the top of the receipt. Find ways to lower the number of coupons that force people to search their phones. Find a way to speed up the time it takes to remove security tags. Improve the speed of your technology. Reinvent the hangar to make it easier to remove and make it faster to fold garments.I go to JCPenney when I need dress clothes or have to find sizes for my growing family. I already avoid the competition because of their long lines. JCP is close to losing my business as well because of their long lines.The dressing rooms in this store could also use updating.The staff was courteous and helpful but they were few and hard to find. A reasonably decent shopping experience given the decline of the mall.
Prices are good on there clothes. When I was there they were remodeling so the store wasnt as tidy as normal. However the worker I had felt with this time was very unfriendly not even saying hi or asking if I found everything. Just said how are you paying today. Not even a total I had to ask for that. And no I dont know the name. So I will be back just hope she was having a bad day.
We went to EVERY womens clothing store in the mall, looking for a nice dress, for my daughters Senior Prom. We should have known better and started at JCPennys! Within minutes, my husband and I were debating over which dress was best! 😊 Not to mention, everything we looked at was 60% OR MORE, off! We wound up buying a beautiful dress, two very nice sweater shalls and two incredible jackets! We couldnt be happier, with our purchases!!!
Our go to spot when cross border shopping. Loads of deals to be had. Especially in the kids clothing section.Usually I find department stores to be a bit of everything but not enough of anything. Don’t m is if this JC Penny is unique, but they definitely excel in their clothing department.
Husband bought wedding ring and band couple years ago. This Christmas he decided to buy me a band to go with it. It took several months of them having my ring to solder them together. Then after receiving ring back couple days later my finger turned green on inside. I called and got no return call regarding this.
We really like shopping at Penneys. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, store is neat and organized, and it helps boost our local economy. With the way these stores are dropping from Birchwood mall it would b re a shame to see this one go, too. Hold your chin up and keep delivering the top notch service you always do and you may weather the storm. We can only hope.
Not Happy.So the shopping experience and store selections, itself, is wonderful. Great in store sales. The staff were even quite friendly. Hence why Im giving the store more than 1 star.Now for the deal breaker.My cashier was so distracted checking out my order because I had an item that wasnt in the computer system yet, and she was setting up a credit account for me simultaneously. Bagging happens behind the counter during this time. Long story short, gave me only 1 of my 2 bags. I did not realize this until I returned home.So, when I realize the cashier mistakenly did not give me one of my bags, I promptly called the store to advise. I was eventually forwarded to a manager to discuss. I was told there is nothing they can do after they checked behind each of the counters. It took a bit of questioning for the manager to eventually say she can have the Loss prevention cameras reviewed (but never did bother asking details re: time of check out, so Im less than confident that she actually will follow up).If I took the bag from the store with me and misplaced it, well, the loss is on me. I left the cash register having paid for merchandise that was not given to me, but am led to believe its my loss.Very poor customer service. JC Penny, I WILL NOT be a return customer.
I have to write this review!!!!As I checking out today I asked the cashier (Carole) if they honored Military Discount pulling out my military ID, she replied No we do Not... hummmmm.I was just there last month and spent a lot less and was given a military Discount! Not only did she give me a military discount she was a very polite young lady cant say for every employee I encounter today!!I will NOT be spending anymore military $$$ or my business again.. I will be giving my future business to Chesterfield JC PENNY where they not only honor our military but are very friendly!!! Very disappointed
So I typically dont have a problem at this location but today the woman I was dealing with pissed me off so bad im actually writing a review (which I never do). I had ordered 2 coats online to decide which one i liked better and instead of returning it via mail I just took it to the store. Coat still had all tags and I had my receipt and jcp card it was bought with, BUT I did not have the bag it came in. This woman was so annoyed that I didnt have that bag, was very rude and made me feel like a total inconvenience. I explained I had returned things before without that bag (specifically a pair of slippers) and she just continued with this snarkey attitude saying well its been that way for 30 years. First of all when I got home I checked the online return policy and NOWHERE does it say anything about a stupid bag and second of all online ordering wasnt even a thing 30 years ago! She did finally refund me but if I see her at desk I will definitely be finding someone else to help me
Store is ok kind of stinks and I did have a bad experience with Ally the cashier and her bad attitude towards me as a customer overall. I think that if the store wants to stay in business the staff whose job is customer service should be more friendly and I shouldnt have to write a review like this
I bought a new winter coat 1 month ago and the zipper comes apart already . Total junk ill have to throw it out after this winter is over. So much for that 165 dollars as i normally dont keep receipts for clothes.Plus its a levi strauss name on it . You would think that a metal zipper would last more than 30 days . Buyer beware.
Its time to retire the old mean and rude lady in your customer service department. I needed to return an item that I no longer had the packing slip to and she told me I couldnt which was false I called JC Penney head quarters to make sure. Then my daughter picked up a candy and shook it (like a 4 year old would) the package broke and it went all over the floor. She told her she needed to pick it up and told me I needed to pay for that. I understand you break it you bought it but this was something that could have been sent back to the distributor for defective packaging. So not only did I get denied a return that she could of easily looked up I had to pay for candy that went in the trash. I will make the trip to Chesterfield today to return my item and will never shop at P.H. JC Penney again until that old woman no longer works there.
I like JCP and shop there a lot, but the buy online pick up at the store is not as convenient as it used to be. Theres a sign on the north entrance indicating package pickup and once up a time you could run in and get your package in minutes - not anymore. Now you have to go to a register and wait in line with all the store shoppers - then when its your turn - you have to wait for the cashier to go get your package from the secret package pick ( which is still where it always was, but hidden by luggage). You cant call ahead and have your package waiting at the check-out either. In this day and age of convenience, its hard to believe that JCP came up with this as an acceptable method. It makes me re-think my loyalty to JCP.

2021-12-30All the fitting rooms are closed. Not able to try on clothes. But you can use the bathroom. What is the difference? Will be spending my money elsewhere. Very disappointed.
