I can not even begin to describe how amazing this place is. We worked with Nikki to design my engagement ring, and she exceeded every expectation. My ring is unique, beautiful, and she worked relentlessly to ensure I loved it while being practical with the design. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to work with. I’ll be going to Nikki for every piece of jewelry from now on, and recommend her and this shop in general to everyone.
Im a long-time Jewelry Doc customer. I am fond of my trendy costume jewelry - and unlike a jewelry shop, the Jewelry Doc doesnt shame you by talking about cheap costume jewelry and why it cant be fixed. They can usually fix it. And quickly and cost effectively. Watch batteries usually while I wait; they still carry watch bands, I think. Today they re-linked my necklace with a smile in a couple of minutes - and didnt charge me!
Ive brought several watches here for repair or battery replacement, and once even brought in a computer with an extremely unusual type of screw that had to be removed. Every time, they are highly professional, very good, prompt and their prices are surprisingly low. I highly recommend them.
I worked with Nikki to create a new ring and pendant...and I love them both! She was so helpful with incorporating her own ideas with my wishes. Nikki is a professional jewelry designer, with access to amazing jewelry design software. The time of service was faster than promised, and for a reasonable price.I really enjoyed my experience with Jewelry Doctor, and namely Nikki!
I have been going to the Jewelry Doctor for over 10 years. Every time they are professional polite and the quality of the work is next to none. They are always done in a timely matter. I will not allow anyone else work on my jewelry. ☺️☺️☺️
Great customer service. I needed a watch bracelet removed which I can normally do my self but the spring bar was stuck. They removed it for me in just a few minutes. Very professional and great service. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Absolutely wonderful. I had a ring repaired, including new diamond, prongs and the ring part that came apart. I had a week deadline during a holiday and the employee had a day off that week to boot. He said he would do his best, and did.I had the ring back just in time. Appreciated them going the extra mile, and their courteousness as well. On top of all that, it would have been a lot more expensive at the larger jewelry stores. Well done! Highly recommended.
Ive been going to Jewelry Doctor for years and they always give me great service! I have used them for many jewelry needs including: Hard-to-find watch battery replacement, jewelry cleaning (very affordable), cheap jewelry repair (like a stone or pearl pops out of a $30 necklace for example), and ring sizing - I have even purchased estate jewelry as well as had pieces made. Gees, pretty much all of my jewelry needs I guess! My family also went there when they were looking to upgrade from their original wedding ring to something a bit more updated - they also loved it!
I wouldnt go anywhere else to get my jewelry fixed. This place is very professional and you can tell they are passionate about what they do. They replaced my watch battery on the spot that included a 3-year warranty on the battery for a very affordable price! I also had the post on one of my earings replaced/fixed and all was done in a timely manner.
Went in to have a watch looked and repaired, they got it fixed while we waited. They are always so friendly and helpful. We received great service, highly recommended them for any jewelry repair or purchase.
They are affordable and fast! My gold necklace snapped in half. They fixed in within an hour for a great price. When I walked in I was greeted right away, both when I dropped off the necklace and when I picked it up. When I picked up my necklace, I was greeted by name. Very professional customer service and quality work. Definitely recommend!
Ive been very pleased with their work now for over a decade. Ive had watches and jewelry repaired. I had a pair of earrings that no other jewelry stores would touch. Yeah, the Jewelry Doctor repaired and made them just like new. I find that its so much easier for me to have them replace my car fobs and my watch batteries. Super service from the moment you walk in. Great Place!
Seems you cant give 0 stars...Basically they stole a chain I had in for repair! Yep, I paid about $20 for a repair and I now have no chain at all!I used to think a lot of them and told all my friends...Now I would make sure you take a photo of whatever you leave with them and document *exactly* what you are leaving (assuming you cant find somewhere else!).Here is my story:My lady friends necklace broke so I of course took it to the Jewelry Dr for repair. They recommended replacement instead so we went back to look at the other chains they got in (didnt have them when I was in initially). We didnt like any they offered so decided to get the original repaired. I went back when it was done, paid for it and took it home. Guess what - it was not only not the same chain, it was about 5 inches longer! I called and they asked me to come in. When I was there they looked at the order slip and measured the chain and told me that the chain was exactly the same length as *the store sales person had written on the slip* of paper. Wouldnt even listen to me that it was a different style of link and length! Didnt offer to give me my money back for the chain they gave me in place of the one I took in. So now I have no chain and have to figure out where I got the original so I can purchase another.
My first experience with the Jewelry Doctor was to get a new battery for my watch since then l discovered that they could mend my glasses frame. I also have my eye on one of the many MSU watches that they have on display. Great people, reasonably price one of Lansings gems.
Yesterday I brought several fashion watches for battery changes and one with a slow minute change. Anyway, I was offered a free cleaning for my rings (wedding). I browsed around and saw this very, very cool silver cuff bracelet. I asked to look at it and the price. To my delight I was negotiated a very significant price adjustment! These people are very pleasant, professional and flexible on prices. I like that they are local and independent. Check them out.....
I live in Grand Rapids and I still make the drive to the Lansing Jewelry Doctor for all of my Jewelry needs! They provide a 3 year warranty on their watch batteries and because they track it, I dont even have to keep my receipt. The staff is always so friendly and helpful as well. I highly recommend Jewelry Doctor! I love this place and I know you will also have the same experience! :)
I had two wedding bands that I wanted made into a guard and I was hesitant to trust anybody with my rings. This place had awesome reviews, so I went with them and they blew me away!! They are so fast and affordable and do beautiful work. I would 100% trust them with anything I need in the future and will be telling all of my friends.
I tried Jewelry Doctor for a ring repair and was so happy with the prices! Very reasonable! I worked with Cheryl, she was so friendly and helpful! I’ve been to a few other jewelers in town and felt I was over charged and not happy with the work that was done. I got my ring back from repair from Jewlery Doctor and was very impressed! Took my engagement ring here to be resized and cleaned. They did both in under an hour with the express service (totally worth it). Multiple employees helped me and each encounter was pleasant, they were all knowledgeable and very friendly. I will bring jewelry back in the future.
We went here to have the wifes rings that are pokey by nature to see if they could be dulled a little and the prongs on the stone to be shaped or polished to reduce its natural tendencies to grab at clothing, hair, skin, etc. The lady at the front desk greeted us warmly, she explaineds with the rings and how little she would actually be able to accomplish but would have her higher up take a look at it to see if they could help. We walked around the show room and everything looked amazing, rare gems, beautiful opal pieces (my favorite), a taste for just about everyone in as few cases as they had. Loved it. She come back out after a couple minutes with the rings, explains that he was only able to remove a little of the edges but that was more than we could have asked. They didnt charge us for the quick simple service and we walked out with a great experience. Had to leave a review of such a great experience of a small business post covid.
My experience with the jewelry doctor is on a whole other level. And Im only posting because Kelly Ann would have the most reasonable point about why I should. If your a customer, I apologize, all the other reviews tell it like it is.I havent been inside JD in years. I miss you guys. I have been being pushed toward the store so many times. Nikki, arson Rick everyone who is new and all who are elsewhere. I have a hug from Kelly Ann. Ill be there on Tuesday. Im gonna cry until then. Held it in far too long......No one compares to Jewel Doctors skill, value, honesty and realness.
Great and fast service. Ive had a number of small repairs done here (clasps, watch batteries) and everyone has always been very kind, patient and helpful. I really dont go anywhere else when I need something done to my jewelry. I know The Jewelry Doctor can handle it and they wont charge me an arm and a leg.
Great job setting my engagement diamond into a vintage style ring! I almost cried when I saw it because it came out so beautiful. They did a beautiful job resizing my grandmothers wedding ring. They also polished it so well I couldnt believe how shiny it was! And the price was so reasonable and they got it done quickly!

I called on a Friday and asked if I could get a ring rhodium plated. The gentleman was polite and said yes bring it in Monday morning and we can get it done the same day. I asked how much it would cost and he asked one ring? I said yes. He said 35 dollars. Great! I drove 25 miles and got there at 930am. I brought in the ring and they told me it would cost 70. I explained that I talked to somebody on Friday and was told 35 dollars. I was told that Express is double. Why wasnt I told that on Friday I asked. Were not sure they said. They would not try to resolve this situation. 70 or nothing he said. I mentioned that this would not be a good review and the old man told me to leave the store, he cant do the work now. What kind of place treats customers like that? Jewelry Doctor does! Bait and switch, thanks for wasting my time and gas.
I am always pleased at the high level of customer service, professionalism, and knowledgeable guidance I experience, with ALL the staff at the Jewelry Dr. Just today, I dropped off a ring. I needed the Jewelry Doctor to minimize my size 7, yellow gold and sapphire/diamond ring, my mom gave me for MY 18th birthday. My daughter is turning 18, next week; I wanted to present her legacy gift, in her perfect size, 5.5. The customer service person explained, it would cost $30, and I would receive the nugget piece (they cut out to create a smaller size), returned They buy back gold, as a part of their business: currently around $1100 an oz. So, my little speck, the jeweler cuts out, may be worth $3.00? $0.30? either way, it is an inherent pay-back, 1%-10%, toward my $30 balance. This is a bargain, and so worth the value.Thankful for The Jewelry Doctors business services in our community!

They Changed my battery and watch filled with condensation. When they put the cover back on it did not seal the o ring. Had to take it to real jewelry store to get it fixed. So much for paying them $16 to do the job right.
I just had my 3 watch batteries replace the service was fast and efficient. the employees were kind and helpful. they asked if i needed any jeweler cleaned said they would do 10 a time for free i thought that was awesome will recommend all my friends and family to go there.
Very friendly and quick service. I was really impressed they gave me a 3 year warranty on a $13 watch battery service. I plan on bringing in my wifes watch soon since she just informed me her battery is dead too.
Unprofessional work and customer service. I wanted the battery replaced in my Tissot wrist watch. i didnt think it would turn into this. Stopped in at my lunch hour and dropped it off as i went to do some banking. I returned just 15 minuets later and was happy to see it was finished. I was running late so I paid and was on my way back to work. When I returned one of my employees said I see your wearing your watch. He asked to see it and i removed it from my wrist and while he was looking at it asked what happened to the back case? I wasnt sure what he was talking about but sure enough there where two big scratches on it. I immediately called the Jewelry Doctor and was told occasional the tool used to remove the back cover sometimes slips and causes this to happen. I asked if I could bring it in and see if they could possibly buff them out. they said sure and sorry it had happened. I stopped in after work and a young lady went and retrieved the Manager. Rick was his name he went to the bench and inspected the damage and then came over and said it would probably be damaged even more because he would need to remove the watch band and remove the case to buff it. I then said I thought I brought it to a professional for the battery replacement and could have used a needle nose pliers to take the back off but I didnt want my 600.00 watch damaged. Rick said he wouldnt do anything else for me and I left. I have never seen such poor customer service.
I have taken in several pieces of jewelry to Jewelry Doctor in Lansing for repair, and I must say they do a grade A job and have excellent customer service. They take pride in their work and always use their professional judgment when dealing with your possessions. Sometimes this means telling you that a piece of jewelry cannot be repaired or replaced, but they also try to provide other alternatives when this rare occasion occurs. Their skill and customer service are some of the best in the mid-Michigan region. All the items (rings, watches, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, etc.) I have bought from them over the years has been quality and unique; I still wear them with pride to this day. It doesn’t matter if you need an item repaired or would like to find an exclusive piece to call your own, you can’t go wrong with the Jewelry Doctor in Frandor.
I just got new battery for my watch the people who work are nice
I took my ring in to have the rivets replaced, which was done and is great. However, I can no longer wear the ring. It had a coating that I was told by this place was chrome, but when I asked about the change in color on the inside of the ring I was told it had been coated in rhodium. The inside of the ring is now bare and cannot be worn. I paid $120.00 to have the rivets replaced, they made my ring unwearable for free. Thank you.I had been cautioned, no actually I had been warned about taking anything to this place and couldnt believe any place would be this shady and still be in business. Boy was I wrong!
Excellent work that was very quick! I needed three repairs done on a couple of watches and a necklace chain and they finished them up very fast. I was impressed. I take all my stuff there. They went out of their way to help me out!
Stopped in to get a link put back into my watch only thing I was charged was a handshake. Where do you find service like that nowadays ? Staff was great smiling laughing and they fixed my watch and under 5 minutes. I would recommend the jewelry doctor to everybody.
I send all my clients to the Jewelry Doctor, and we are located in Grand Rapids. Only place I trust, and it’s worth the drive. The staff is honest, knowledgeable, friendly and quick. They even have a guy on staff who is an expert in repairing clocks.
Scam artist over price you for work and ask for weeks to do it told me it would take a week for her to put a clasp back on my chain I had a jeweler do it for half the price and in 10 minutes. Also went there for a watch before that the charged me $185 for a battery and gages when they quoted me at $65. Never going back.

Everyone at the jewelry doctor is so helpful. I had a new chain ordered for my favorite pendant and it was delivered quickly. I also requested to have a magnetic clasp put on and it was done in minutes. Before leaving they offered to clean my pendant for me as well. Lauren and her teammates were all terrific!

They are very nice there. A while ago I broke part of the nose piece on glasses. They fixed them expertly when I didnt think they were fixable. Unfortunately, I accidentally damaged them in the same place again. Even though it was completely my fault, they fixed them at no charge under warranty. Very rare service in this day and age.
Stopped in today to see if they could repair my wedding set. I figured I would have to leave it. But no they fixed it while I waited!! I was so pleased. I asked them how much I owed them and they said no charge!! Thank you Beth!!
I went in to the Jewelry Doctor a few days ago to get my claddagh ring rounded. It had gotten so bent out of shape that I hadnt been able to wear it in months. The gentleman that helped me was so nice. He got my ring back into shape and cleaned it in just a couple minutes. I will definitely be back for any other jewelry needs!

The staff is always so friendly and helpful. Just needed a watch battery switched from one watch to another and they did it at no charge. Doesn’t sound like a big deal but it’s something I couldn’t have done on my own.
Will never go here again...went in to get my ring resized everything seemed good. Until the woman at the counter took it to the master jeweler (who has 30+years experience)the employee (Lauren? I believe was her name) who then told me and I quote Dont shoot the messenger but after having the master jeweler look at your ring, it isnt worth our time because he doesnt believe its real gold. I was a bit deterred by the employees tone but left without further question due to how rude she was when she returned to inform me of my not real gold ring. I called back up to the store the following day to ask why they couldnt resize the ring, I was informed if it wasnt a precious metal it could damage the ring (which is totally understandable)... so thus far everything seems normal.I did speak with the manager, he did apologize for the employee I dealt with prior.BUT heres the kicker I took the ring to be tested because it is stamped 14K and believe or not its a 14K white gold ring so not only was my time wasted and i was treated rudely at the counter, I was also lied to about my ring and further more they showed no care or interested in seeing if I wanted it tested not that Id waste any more time or money at this place of business.I guess ultimately Im just sadden with this experience. The ring is my engagment ring and I dont care the cost of it (its more about what the ring means to me) but to have a company show so little care or interested says enough to me. And hopefully this review will help prevent this type of experience for anyone in the future.

I took a pair of Sterling silver earrings in and the repair person said they were fake and couldnt be fixed. Im sure Medawars would beg to differ
AWESOME, I TOOK AN OLD RING INTO THE PLACE TO GET CLEANED AND THEY NOT ONLY CLEANED IT, BUT THEY POLISHED THE OLD COATING OFF GOLD PLATING OFF AND REFINISHED THE ORIGINAL METAL UNDERNEATH AND NOW IT LOOKS LIKE A TOTALLY DIFFERENT RING!!! GREAT PLACE, GREAT PEOPLE.
I originally came in for a loose stone. When I got it back I noticed a couple days later the prong was still loose and snagging. But the owner reached out and rectified the problem and discussed concerns with my ring and options for now and the future.

My necklace chain was broke and they fixed it in minutes at no charge. Super nice. Even got out a small knot I didn’t know was there. Will be coming back!
Waited on immediately on entering. Put a battery in my watch while I waited and indicated that .it was warrenty. Also shortened a necklace while I waited which I thought I would have to leave. Very polite.

This place is a complete rip off went in to get my ring sized they wanted to charge me $100 to size my ring I only paid $125 when I had it made there’s three other places in town that are willing to size my ring for 35 dollars this place is a rip off So be aware if you need your ring size and you’ll get a quote from these guys please do yourself a favor and get other quotes you’ll save yourself a whole Lotta money not to mention when I called He said no problem ring sizes are $35 and I said so I can come have it sized for $35 and he says yes as soon as I got there he raised his prices on me after I drove over 40 miles one way just to come see him and then when I brought up that he said that the $35 I had to wait 3 to 4 weeks to get it done but the express was 100 to 125

2022-05-03Very professional and friendly staff. Very good prices for jewelry and repairs. It was my first time there and they exceeded my expectations. The picture doesnt do this pendant I got from them any justice but they put it on for me for free. Thanks guys!

2022-08-18This is a great business that has people who are honest and professional. No matter how long you return for a second service for an item you got from them, they will fix it without charging, even if you don’t remember. I wish I was able to give more than 5 stars!

2022-07-09Beware!! They charged me $50 to fix my late Dad’s ring. They did such a horrible job. You could still see the crack in the band. I wore it for 20 mins & it broke again. Took it to Sundance in Okemos & they fixed it correctly for only $20.

2020-11-25I have always gone to JD for my watch batteries and watch repairs and have been extremely satisfied with the staff and the prices. But this last experience was by far SECOND TO NONE!!!! I brought in a broken music box that had many memories for me. They asked me to bring back the batteries that would n=be needed for it to work and they would see what they could do. I received a phone call a week later that it was ready for pick up. I stopped in with excitement to find that they fixed it, and took amazing care of me in the end! This place is the real deal for ALL your needs. From jewelry, to repairs, to watch batteries, to just great customer service, they meet every need and go above and beyond!Keep the small businesses in business and SHOP LOCAL at the JEWELRY DOCTOR!!!!!!!

2021-12-14I went to get my necklaces untangled and my anklet clasps repaired and they did not charge me. They are very friendly, professional and very helpful. I always come in to get my jewelry repaired, and purchase jewelry pieces from the jewelry doctor. They have very Beautiful pieces of jewelry and at very reasonable prices. They are the best and very knowledgeable at what they do.

2021-07-31Walked in with an hour left in the day. Promptly greeted and was quickly addressed. Smiling and friendly staff in the whole store. I was willing to leave a watch for a battery replacement. No rush on my end. They requested just a few minutes and about $13.00. And sure enough, they got it accomplished in that time frame and the same price quote was what we paid. Even set my date and time on this watch. Thank you all very much!

2021-03-17I have a 9yr old who had his favorite gold necklace break and was looking to have it fixed. I called Jewelry Doctor and I was in luck! The doctor was in! The lady I spoke with was very helpful and gave me great information about a repair job. I drove there right away and was told it could be fixed, immediately! What an awesome business! It took less than an hour! (3 other jewelers said, nonplussed, a week to 14 days, no leeway!) I will bring any Jewelry I have to repair here and you absolutely should too. Lil man was soo happy! Thanks, Jewelry Doctor! And I will be back to see what new pieces I can gift myself and my family!

2021-05-07They were so helpful!!! My son bought an iPad and had a piece of the charger break off inside of it. The jeweler removed the piece and did it free of charge. My son was so thrilled because he saved for years to make that purchase. Thank you so much!! We will remember your kindness and will return when have jewelry repairs/needs. 😊

I shared my ring idea with Nikki and she went above and beyond to not only custom design it, but to exceed all my expectations!
