So dissatisfied. I bought a $180 family pass 3 weeks ago. I came back for the third time on the pass and they are implementing a new $2 per adult fee in addition to the “family pass” that I bought. I get that the pandemic has probably hurt their attendance, but it would be better practice to change the cost of the pass instead of nickel and dime your current guests.
Go to Canton! This one is a joke. I got there at 11 to find out that they close in an hour. Just a sign on the door. Dirty, spider webs in the corners of the toys in the toddler area, chipped toys in the toddler area, floors clearly not mopped. I get short staff in all but this is disgusting. Toddlers put there’s hands straight in there mouths. Also, canton DOES NOT charge for adults. It’s only two dollars but we stayed for 10 mins and are going to the other location. Waste of money if you ask me. Plus the toddler area is small with only 4 things in it!! The one in canton my son had a blast. This one wanted to get out of the area. Not coming here again.
Place was to expensive for the few things that they have. I was very disappointed by the lack of entertainment they had there. Manager was very nice and very helpful. The kids did have fun so that’s a good thing. The icing on the cake was they told us we couldn’t bring in outside food except cupcakes, cake and i ice cream. They ordered some Hungry Howie’s pizza. I was in awe. Personally I don’t recommend this place.
This place was gross. We were the only people there. The mats have rarely if ever been cleaned, my daughter spit up and when I wiped the mat with a wet wipe... it was almost black from the mat being nasty, dirty. The food and drinks are WAY over priced and do not taste good. Also, took 35 mins to get a sandwich.. mind you we are the only people there. There was no music playing either. The mats are falling apart, the nets have huge holes and I will never return to the place again. I purposely went to this location thinking, nice neighborhood must be a nice place.. absolutely not.. we left early and my 15 month old daughter is very sick now.
We brought our kids (age 2 and 4) and they had a blast! They have an area for kids 3 and under, but my 2 year old loved the bigger play area. Their seating area is a perfect view of the play area, and drinking coffee is the best thing to do while watching them play. We came a little late in the evening on a Tuesday( around 3pm) and it wasn’t crowded at all. Will definitely come back!
Hours change constantly and that’s not good.In response to the owner. When I called someone told me 5pm. It’s not what I like it what I was told! Maybe train your employees better next time. LOL very unprofessional business attitude to talk down to a parent (customer) that wants to come In To a family establishment. Good luck I’m sure your business won’t last that long with this type of response. Have a great day.
Me and my wife always went to Jungle Java with our daughter in Canton, but we have gone here a few times. I was not impressed by the staff or the owner. We got an attitude for asking for napkins and silverware from the only other person on staff at the time. The owner was also rude and it seemed like everyone there was a nuisance. I love the set-up here but I will always choose the Canton location over this location
A hidden gem for those what now days.I was looking for a place to go with my daughter that weve never been and an indoor playground is a great idea. The floors, table tops and bathrooms are clean. Theres plenty of adult seating including a small area with couches and the Jungle is big and diverse enough to present a challenge. So you cant bring food in because they want you to try their unique menu which includes a grilled cheese pretzel sandwich and a specialty drink called pure heaven mocha.$10 to get in(per adult), no obligation to spend anything after that. Great place if you ask me.
Love coming here with my son. Very reasonable price to play and unlimited time. Food is decently priced and structures were clean. Restrooms stocked and tables wiped up often. The only concern is there only ever seems to be one person working so it backs things up with food orders/check in and cleaning off tables.
We celebrated my sons birthday there this weekend and had a great time. The entire process was very easy - I did 99% of it online with one quick follow up call to finalize a few details the Monday before. They were flexible when we had two late RSVPs and even added extra menu items on the day of the party. The day of the everything was as expected. The staff there was on top of everything, very welcoming to our guests and made my son feel like a king for the day. You dont need to do anything - they provide everything including the cake, decor, balloons, plates etc. (this depends on what package you order.) Highly recommend!
Two stars because the price is fair however on a SATURDAY afternoon there were like three parties going it was open to the public still and packed to the max and there were like 3 people working! They definitely overbooked the facility if I had payed that high price for a party I would have been pissed. You get no VIP access to the play structure and your long table is just out in the open your guest can barely hear there conversations with the amount of noise the kids are making. The facility was not only over crowded it was not very clean. I decided it was time to go when the larger structure became over run by much bigger kids probably 12 and 13 trampling over my smaller children and no one was regulating how rough these kids were being not even the parents and that is very dangerous the toddler section was okay but my kids dont stay interested in that area to long and want to go to the bigger structure. The Canton location is run much better
Does not look like they clean it very often and it honestly smelled like dirty socks in there. But we happened to catch a really quiet time and there was hardly anyone there so the kids loved it. It seemed waaayyy smaller than the Canton location though so that was a bummer too. Also sucks that you cant bring in your own food so you are stuck buying super unhealthy food like hot dogs
Great indoor jungle gym for small children. Staff is usually pleasant and place is about as clean as you can keep it with children running around everywhere. I do wish they had staff monitoring the bigger play area. A lot of the bigger kids are rough and trample over the little ones. It would be nice to have a staff mediator who monitors that area and enforces rules. It can be uncomfortable to have to check someones kid or seek their parent out to discuss their kids being rough.
Its a nice place as long as your child is age 4 or older. The toddler place is a joke and cant even really be used by toddlers. I feel like they need more climbing equipment like foam blocks and things to crawl over. Also the floor should be padded also like the play area for the kids. They charge $4 for kids over 1 but I cant see it worth $4 unless your child is old enough to go down slides unassisted. I thought the play area would have more things in it. Like foam play blocks and things kids could climb over or roll over or even I tree with a hole I. The trunk to climb through or even just some tunnels for crawling kids to crawl through. All there is is a slide and a 2 foam animals that make up the toddler play area.
My 3 yr old daughter loves this place, but it smells like a kennel and its very stuffy in there. Needs a/c and ventilation and a good vacuuming and scrubbing. How hard is it to wipe down equipment and vacuum?? the food is equivalent to what you would get at a movie theater and the same high prices of a movie theater. If they cleaned this place I would give it four stars. Great concept but super lazy owners and management. If they were clean and had nice employees I would give it 5 stars. Too bad.
The play structure is excellent for the little one (3 to 8), but over all the place is over priced, and is not monitored very well by the staff. When you have bigger kids (10 & up) knocking others over in the play structure playing tag and its only up to the other parents to say somthing to them... Not a place that I would visit on a busy day!
The only reason I gave it a three was because the small place area is too small and the large is too big for a 2 year old. They are not tall enough to climb up the levels. I had to get in there to help my grandson in many areas. I want to watch him from afar not have to climb in the play scape to him play.
Nice amusement park and children love this place. Seating was nice and food and drinks were good too. Overall it was a nice place to have fun with family and the best part is children enjoy a lot here and it was an amazing experience. I will surely be back to this place as my children like the place very much and same do I.
Wow, just wow! I have read some really bad reviews about this place but thought I would check it out for myself. Sometimes people over exaggerate or they get angry if they don’t get their way so they leave a bad review. That’s not the case here. Those reviewers were 100% truthful when they wrote about the cleanliness of the place, or should I say lack thereof. When I walked in and proceeded to pay the girl working behind the counter I told her what I had read online. She said I don’t know why we have such bad reviews because we clean the place every night. I said I figured they had some sort of system in place and that’s why I decided to see for myself. Keep in mind I’m behind a closed door and nowhere near the play structure area so I cannot see what people are talking about from where I’m standing. If I was able to see the area before hand, trust me I wouldn’t have paid a dime. I would have turned around and walked out. We lasted for about 30 minutes before I was completely disgusted and had seen enough. I really didn’t want my daughter getting sick two days before Thanksgiving. I’m not the type of person that expects a place to be as clean as an operating room or anything but this place was disgusting. I was astonished that the girl behind the counter just got done telling me how they clean the place every single night when obviously that was a lie. I walked in the door about five minutes after they opened this morning so it’s not like this mess was made from other kids earlier in the day or anything. The floors, both carpet and tile had tons of debris and smashed food all over it. It looked like the place hasn’t been dusted in months and there were dried food and beverage spills on the tables and chairs. Clearly nobody wiped down any of the tables, chairs, or vacuumed any of the floors and mopped the tile. After climbing around on the structures with my daughter a little bit my hands were so sticky and gross feeling. I knew that none of those areas had been wiped down in a long time either. That’s when I decided I would never come back to this place ever again. I would think a place this expensive would be clean and pristine every single day. Save your money and take your children elsewhere.
If I could give 0 stars I would!!! Had a birthday party here and I would NOT recommend this location! Super small almost everything is decor not much to play on. It was filthy! Horrible service! On a Saturday there was only one worker and a manager (who was rude) and they did not help the party run smoothly wouldve been better off at my place. The food was gross Stale chips Soggy fries that took forever to get to me! Was not given the jungle mask or balloons til the very end. The Clinton township location is 1000% better!
I was shocked by the way the Manager, as she claimed, treated me today. She was literally yelling at me in front of my kids. I always love to follow rules and policies, but the way she was talking to me was totally unacceptable. I would recommend from the owners to review the camera records and see if that how you would like your customers to be treated. I decided to head to the Canton location, which were so welcoming, smiling, greeting and really so good.Though I live in Troy, I’m never visiting jungle java in its Farmingtion Hills location again.
Cool playscape. I liked the other customers and kids there. I didnt try the food but had a $5 mocha with extra esspresso. It was ok. I put a $1 in the front and center glass tip jar. They dont allow in and out. If you leave, you must pay to get back in. No outside food. Once the kids get hungry, its eat there or leave. Other places like Fort Clarkston give you all day access regardless if you leave. We packed a healthy lunch and were disappointed when we could not eat at our planned Midway point. The seating here is not plush like other playacapes we have been too. Remember to bring cooler clothes if coming in the winter. It gets quite warm inside.
While the cleanliness and service suck, my son had tons of fun both times weve gone.I agree that the trash cans are disgusting, tables seem to have never been wiped down, getting a coffee drink takes 10-15 minutes and yes, an employee needs to monitor the older kids play area. Big kids plow the younger ones down and parents dont even watch over their kids. Of course youve signed a liability waiver when you came in...
Expensive. Food and drinks are not that great and very expensive. My sister had her kids party there once very expensive doesnt provide you with very much food for what you pay for. We were also there for a fun time before with our kids and found pee in the play set , vomit and poop smashed into to the carpet. All within a matter of minutes from each finding. Not a very clean place. Kids love it but are unaware. Of how gross it is. Haha
This was our first time there and we had a nice experience. It was empty, likely because it was an early Sunday afternoon. Our little one was not big enough for the main play area, but he had a great time in the toddler area. We did not try any coffee or food, but we did get a couple of cookies and water, all of which were overpriced, but what can you expect? We left before at least 4 birthday parties were scheduled to begin at 3pm.
Another Edit: My daughter is now nearly 3 1/2. I cant help that she loves coming here. Its now $10 to get in to this glorified McDonald play place that has not been updated as long as Weve been cpming here. Chipped paint on everything. Not that clean, carpet is horriblly disgusting. Staff is as rude as ever. Cost for lattes went up. Ahhhhh, I feel like lying to my daughter and telling they closed.Edit: Im sick of having to find staff for service. Why cant they have a bell or something. Nearly every time I have to poke my head in the kitchen and ask if someone is there. I never see anyone cleaning. And as of late there has been NO music at all. The lattes are wonderful and worth the $4 -$5. The food quality has gone down AND NO refills on drink, even soda, they charge for water. BUT my 2 1/2 year old really enjoys it. But they need to get some client centered training and or staff.Older post: Kids love it. Good coffee. A bit over priced, never too many updates and not the cleanest, but pretty clean Im very picky. And the music isnt kid music; its like a regular station with pg-13 music. Maybe thats better for some parents but if rather not my 2 year old listen to certain content.
I had my 1 year old son birthday party at the Farmington Hills location yesterday. I was very disappointed with my party package. I paid $241 for the party and it seem like it was ONLY 2 staffs working during the time. The decorations were very well put up. I did not like how it was unorganized. I paid for a hostess but I was running around like a goose. The package is for giving the parents a break from having to do anything but I should have been the one getting paid for working there! I did not have straws and napkins. The hostess was not very attentive. I served majority of my guests cake and ice cream. I was looking for the hostess a few times and she was either in the back or on the register. After the party was over the staff DID NOT clean up afterwards. The garbage was overrunning. As a parent thats paying for a service, I would had like top-notch service! The staff was very nice but it just seem like the hostess was new or had inadequate training. Idk? My son and the other kids enjoyed themselves. I would NOT book another party at Jungle Java.
Some of these reviews lead you to believe that this place was filthy. I found it to be a relatively clean and a decent time for a small entry fee. However the food seem to be more pricey than I would have expected. My wife thought it was a little dirtier than I did . However neither of us would hesitate to take the kids back for another party. There better and worse places
This location is not well maintained. It is flat-out dirty. The carpet doesnt just need to be cleaned, it needs to be replaced. Everything is very much overpriced from admission to food. The overabundance of signs everywhere stating that no outside food or drink is allowed is bad enough, but signs stating that if you have a food allergy requiring special foods (besides what is available for purchase) you must eat before entering is just discriminatory! How terrible would it be for a child to have to not only not be able to eat what their friends are eating, but to have to remove themself and eat separately. It is absolutely unacceptable.I am giving 2 stars however, because children dont notice how unclean anything is or the appalling discrimination against persons with special (dietary) needs and do enjoy themselves.Personally, Id rather make the drive to Canton which is a much better experience.
A very cool place for kids to run around. The toddler area is where i was with my 1 year olds and they loved it. Everything was clean enough that i didnt worry about my kids running around too much. The one issue i had is that there was little enforcement of the age limit in the toddler zone, aside from parents policing themselves. Several times groups of 4 and 5 year olds would come running through. Kids playing dont pay much attention, certainly to 1 year olds walking and crawling, so i wish either the kids parents or the staff would have helped keep the big kids in the appropriate area.
It is what it claims to be. Clean enough and drinks are ok (not the worst and not the best, also a little overpriced). But the point of the thing is for kids to play while you work or relax, right? For that purpose this place works well. Play structure was clean, well maintained, and big enough that I could follow my kiddos around. It was surprisingly pretty open so that you can keep an eye on the little ones while sitting, too.
The place is nice for kids and sitting with coffee. The food is ok, $5 kids meal. Im giving 1 star because I ordered a traverse city salad and the menu listed dried cherries chicken and feta. It arrived with breaded chicken which the menu did not state so never thought to ask. Normally chicken on a salad is grilled. So I asked for grilled chicken instead and I was told Id have to pay for another piece of chicken since they already made it. I already paid over $6 for it. Total b.s., i cant eat gluten. Oh well, wasted food but this gets a low relating from me because of it. Poor customer satisfaction and I spent over $40 here. Wont come back now because of this. Hope the extra $2 they wanted to suck out of me was worth it for them to lose the $40 I spend every time I wouldve come back with my young kids.
I had my son party May 20th 2017, i paid for the party a week in advance, and requested pizza for the kids. The day of the party, i get there and the table had been Preset, against my request of leaving the tables bare. I received cold, old hotdogs. A child vomited on the slide, it took the staff 30 minutes to clean up the vomit,by then two kids had already slid down the slide. The bathrooms were a mess. I will not be a returning customer
Went there today with my daughter and a friend. Decided to try this location since it was half way for both of us and that was a mistake. I was very disappointed in how dirty it was. Looks like it hasnt been cleaned in weeks. Their were random dirty socks laying around and used bandaids....we were one of the first customers there and it looked as if they didnt bother to clean up the night before or that morning. The employee who was working there looked miserable and acted as if she didnt want to be there. Barely said anything to us as we were paying for our admission or food. Was not nice and not helpful. Most of the time she was in the back and wasnt even aware of her customers. When the food I had ordered was ready she set it on the counter and walked away....didnt even tell me my food was ready. There was only 2 families in the building so she could have just called out to me that my food was ready.Next time we decide to go we will drice the extra miles to go to the one in Canton or Clinton Township where its much cleaner and nicer, more helpful staff.
The play structure itself is definitely showing its age. We were there over spring break (I should have known better 😬) there were lots of pushy unsupervised kids and the staff seemed overwhelmed. Another issue I had was that you arent aloud to bring outside food or drinks, which is fine, except that the options for purchase are on par with gas station food (nachos, frozen pizza, chips and cookies displayed at childrens eye level).Unless its for a birthday party - we will not be back.
Super dirty!!!! Doesnt take American Express. Its literally a free for all... there are tiny babies getting kicked in the face because parents let the babies climb on the slides older kids slit on the slides to make them go faster and nobody says a thing!!! The carpet needs to be replaced and some kid just peed on the foam climber as Im sitting here!!! His mom just walked him to the bathroom with wet pants and said nothing!!! We are outta here!!! There is also no staff at all!!! All the bathrooms have poop in them its a hot mess!
While the kids had fun here, our credit card number was stolen at this location. We know it was here since we were visiting relatives from Kansas City and this has been the only place in the Detroit area that my wife used her card. Within hours of visiting this location, our bank contacted us about usual purchases in VA and KY. Seems very suspicious if you ask me. Either way, be sure to pay with cash if you visit this place. It will be a much better experience both during and after!
Our family visited Jungle Java our first and last time in Clinton Township Jan 2016. My child had a blast, however that place is absolutely filthy, so filthy my child came down with a bacterial infection from that place. A family member took her daughter a few times andwarned me not to take ours because her childcame down with same type of infection. So yougo to Jungle Java website and read how cleanthere facility are, its a lie. Come on its ran byteens, you think there climbing in the playstructure sanitizing it to keep our kids safe.Please..Thank you for your ignorant response. Yes mychild is in school, yes my child goes to thestore and no my child has no siblings. You saythat your facility is cleaned at least once a day, well it shows its only once. And that you havemothers with children, teens and collegestudents running the place, You would think the moms would like to see the place clean as if their own kids were playing there. Its not justthe moms its failure from the whole crew.Hmm. And you say you have a professionalsanitizing company that cleans also.. I find thathard to believe because the childrens socksare so black. So is it sanitary to have the kids run in their socks and walk where the adults have their shoes on, also have their socks on inthe rest room were it is full of bacteria and thetake that back to the play structure where theother kids are playing? Pretty gross! When I took my child to the doctors, she had treated other patients that played at JJ and stated there must be a problem with sanitizing . Well the 2.8 ratings dont lie being the 1 star rating out weighs the rest. I guess the Health Department will be the deciding factor. Funny never had these problems at Chuck E Cheese.
Expensive for individual tickets. Not the cleanest. Neither enough or sufficiently maintained bathrooms. A lottle run down. Playscape design is nice. Aztec styling. Competitively priced birthday party rates. Cant bring in your own food except for cakes. Bad, but unlimited coffee and fixings.
The place was clean. The structure was safe and really cool on the inside. I dont know why the staff always hids in the back. Also, they claim to cater to everyones diet, but had ZERO alternative milk for lattes. How are you a Java place without soy or almond milk? Disappointed
Bath Night!Well, if it wasnt before, it sure is now! The tunnels are cramped, kids flying everywhere, and not a purell dispenser in sight. Im actually wanting to wash my hands just thinking about it.The two star rating is because my kids got to run around a little bit and exercise is good. Plus z-paks solve most everything they could potentially end up with, right?
I was VERY leary of coming after reading others reviews. Either alot has changed or you are all petty whiners. It is Sunday afternoon and crazy here BUT it is as clean as can be expected. Service was fast and friendly. COFFEE is a step below Starbucks but way better than Timmys or Dunkin. Didnt get any food. Why would you buy food at any of these places anyway? Maybe the owners took note of the reviews, maybe they thinned the heard, maybe this is how it has always been. Hell its better than Airtime and their booming pop music!
Ive come here alot over a long pieriod of time, and the quality of the place has gone down a ton. It is not clean. I went into the jungle for the first time in a while the other day, and it is getting really worn, with obviously no repairs. There are alot of rips in the upholstery, and it seemed very unclean even though we were there when they opened. It was holiday break, and they were jammin. They had 2 people working. Both girls looked super pissed to be there and the one was obviously intentionally moving extremely slowly even though the lines were huge. Huffing and puffing and dragging her feet as she walked around. I get it. Its a min wage job, but be plesent! Their coffee drinks, which they could easily make decent are horrrible. I ordered a plain latte. I could care less if they do the milk right, or even the temp. The girl put some squirts of some kind of flavor in it, then when i questioned it she was like this is what a plain latte is. Whatever, i drank it anyway. So overall, dirty, unorganized, and slow. Oh yeah, and a price increase !! $8,and they even made me pay $4 for my 10month old.My kids love it, but id love to find a better indoor playground.
Came in to play at 6:30 yesterday. There was a big kid in the toddler area acting up, a spider & my 1 year old ended up putting some plastic wrapper in her mouth because the carpets were filthy. Only 2 slides for toddlers made it pretty boring - wont be returning til she can go on the big kid side. Waste of $4 for a 1 year old
Slow. Coffee stations were dirty. Pee in play area.un prepared for business this morning. We drive from auburn hills to get here. No impressed. Im glad its not always like this. The person working the counter was on the phone. Probably calling for assistance. But she was on her personal phone. Not on the business phone.
Very disappointed. the attendant kept saying its slow.. so we are cleaning up early, the owner said to. and they have not made any food today. but that didnt stop her from taking the money. we decided to eat some place else. we felt rushed and this place isnt all that.
I am sitting here watching the same employee sign people in and collect money, serve food and clean a very disgusting flood in the womens bathroom, which Im certain would fail any inspection. This employee is the only person here working and she just informed me that she quit today because she is tired of being overworked. The management here is horrible and the food is disgusting, processed and way overpriced. Huge disappointment.
I saw the news story about the little girl who got her face bitten (badly!) by another child and had to go to the hospital. Management did NOTHING about it until after the fact when they realized there was going to be a law suit. Indeed, I heard there is a major law suit. Look it up online. Just an example of the responsiveness that I and many others in these posts experienced there. I feel sorry for the little girl.
Do not be fooled. This business will TAKE YOUR MONEY and then shut the doors. They have done this twice now with the Ann Arbor store. They sell as many passes as they can - even promoting it in a sale - and then shut the doors WITHOUT REIMBURSING ANY CUSTOMERS! How can a business do this without repercussions? What a joke. Do not fall into the trap of giving them your money.

2022-02-10I take my 2 boys (5 and 10) here to let them unwind in the winter. Great place for kids to play and meet new friends. I havent tried the food, but the coffee is very good. Would be 5 stars with extended hours. A couple more hours of availability after school would be awesome.

2022-05-01This place is sooooo dirty! The direst indoor playground I have ever been to, months of caked on dust, food, and grime on the floor. How hard is it to hire a cleaning company or ask an employee to vacuum? Talking about employees: the entire 20 minutes we were in that place the woman at the front desk was on the phone and cared less about anything until my 3 year old got interested in a loose balloon floating around (one of 300 what looks like were prepared for b-day party later that day). I saw her giving me and him looks (still chatting on the phone) because he starting playing with a ballon, so I politely asked if its ok if he plays with it for a minute. Absolutely not, she said, I need that for a party.. I told her Ok, there are 300 other balloons and this one was in a play area, give us a minute and take it from him... all she yelled back was PUT IN BACK! (still holding a phone to her face)... I tore balloon out of the hands of my, now crying, 3 year old and we left right away. It was supposed to be fun afternoon that turned in to bitter crying kid and mom who should have told the employee to take a rug to clean the place instead of her phone and tell a woman to go work in correctional facility and not not a kids playground. Miserable place.

2022-05-01I asked them to book a spot for my daughter’s birthday. They emailed me and I replied to the email. When I asked them where/how to pay, I didn’t realize that they emailed me a booking cancellation right after they replied to my inquiry. Nobody reached out to me to check if I was able to receive their email, they just straight up cancelled it. Talk about customer service. Very unprofessional.

2021-05-08Happy birthday A.J.Jungle Java is the prefect pace for a kid party. We didnt have to do a thing. The decorations, food, and cake were included in the package. Kids walked in and played to their hearts content. Our host was the greatest. Will be going back again for play dates.

2022-01-05My daughter absolutely loves this place, we come here at least once a week to play. It’s especially great during winter and we can’t go to the park. The food is good and staff has always been nice.

2021-09-25Fun place for kids. They have a separate area for toddlers so they dont get trampled by the big kids. Coffee was yummy. The lady at the counter was super nice and friendly. Definitely would go back.

2021-11-06This place is fantastic!! My family and i were here for 2 hrs and will be coming back. Nice seating for parents to watch kids. The owner was very sweet. We bought food and drinks and they were well made.
