Ive never lived in a house with a well before, and I just purchased a home with a well that had the water turned off. When the plumber came to dewinterize and get everything going, the well was not working correctly. I called Katz and the woman I talked to was helpful, reassuring, and was able to get someone out the next day to look at the well. The man who came out was fast, professional, and went out of his way to make sure I understood the basics of having a well and how to take care of it and how to recognize if there is a problem in the future. The issue was taken care of quickly, and at what seems like a very reasonable cost. I was very pleased with the whole experience!
Katz rep spent 10 minutes at my place. I told him the well point could no longer keep up with the demand. He insisted we needed a new well at the tune of $5600. I said I would get back to him later. Then I get hit with a $115 bill for his visit. Their web site made no mention of a consult fee nor did the woman over the phone when I first called. Im not calling Them back!
If I could give them a 0 I would. I called on an issue I was having with what I thought might be a pump problem. I was not instructed that the cost for consultation would be $100.00. A young man came out, looked at the pressure gauge and said it wasnt a pump problem. He was here all of 5 minutes then left. I received a service fee bill of $100.00 and when I called to talk to Kelly at their office, I informed her I was not told of the service fee before hand and did not see the 5 minutes to tell me call a plumber visit was worth paying $100.00. I informed her I didnt mind paying a service fee but not $100.00 for standing in my doorway for 5 minutes. Kelly informed me, thats OK, well just turn it into collections. DONT USE THESE PEOPLE! Go with someone else who will be upfront with you about the $100.00 charge BEFORE they come to my door. Again, I would have paid something if they were upfront. I would have had the option of going elsewhere if I didnt want the $100.00 charge. I live less than 10 minutes way from their office in Battle Creek. Terrible, terrible customer service for being a home based business! I will also be letting my neighbors and friends know. Facebook, Instagram and any social media way that I can suggest people stay clear from this company I will.
My Nephews Sump pump, quit on him on Sunday night, he was out trying to get a new one everything was closed. He called me to see what I could do, I knew right then who I could count on, I called Mike Katz, he said yes he has them, you need it tonight, I said yes. He goes out to the business, remember this is Sunday Evening, gets the sump pump and my Nephew was good to go. That’s what I call going the extra mile. Thanks Katz Well Drilling
We called to get a well yesterday and Ryans wife took our information and said not a problem just get a permit and 1/2 down and ill send the quote.Today we followed up because the quote was not sent over and the President Ryan refused to do the job and used profane language and hung up the phone. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL NOT KEEP THEIR WORD AND TREAT CUSTOMERS POORLY.

While out of town for the weekend for a phone call saying we had no water. So after calling and leaving a message. Their call back was less than an hour. They got the problem fixed quickly.
I called katz this morning and they came out within the hour. Chuck did an amazing job and was very friendly. I would highly recommend this company.
Terrible - showed up day 1 without a plan after I asked them to come out twice before to look at our property. Once they drilled the well, water was yellow and cloudy and kept failing the inspections. Couldnt drink our water for over 2 months, which didnt seem to concern them. But they did seem concerned about getting paid on time. Terrible company, will never use them again and do not recommend.

Another well company had us severely discouraged when they basically told us we wouldnt be able to build..and, there was no way wed get water! Katz didnt make any promise of water. However, they promised to try! And, try with determination they did! It was a glorious moment when they hit water!! 👏Also, they were very professional combined with kind and personable! They also involved my 6 year old and explained the process to her. She was ecstatic to feel like she was helping! ❤Id recommend Katz to anyone!! It is very refreshing to find such great business people! Thank you Katz!!

2020-07-06Long review! End of story Go with them!! We called because they were honestly the only company that seemed interested in us not having water . They came out the next day we called to assess the problem. We had replaced the well pump but unfortunately because it was a 60s well and a 60s style connection for the pump the newer versions were not compatible as well as they thought the well had probably developed a leak. We decided to go with them after trying to quote other companies and none of the other companies returned my calls or said they did not have time to come out!The only reason I gave them a 4/5 is because they dont work weeks and would be great if they could for emergency situations. Between the 1st wk my husband trying to fix the problem on his own and waiting for the pump to be delivered. The 2nd week trying to get ahold of the inspector and other companies for quotes too. And the 3rd wk waiting on the permit payment to be delivered due to covid 19 and offices being closed we were out of water for a total of 4wks! Luckily these two adults have family members near by to go shower and wash dishes and bring back water for toilets! Cant imagine having kids.I wish they would work weeks knowing this was an emergency that had lasted way too long! Kelly at the office was very helpful answering all our questions as this was our first time dealing with a well issue. The guys who arrived friendly to drill first day and second day friendly. But wished they would have tried to place the well just a bit closer to what we had discussed as they said they could. But I guess no biggie. Finished it in three days. 1st day arrived late due to truck problems. Dont blame them for that either. GO WITH THIS COMPANY. After comparing what my family member paid for his new well in Paw paw I can say their prices are pretty fair. Lots of people after the fact recommended them and so would I!.

2022-01-26Had water in the morning, then nothing. Called Kellogg who installed it, but hours went by and they never called me back. Called Katz and they answered right away and scheduled me in for the next day! Serviceman was friendly and on time. Diagnosed the issue we had quickly. Installed a new control box and pressure tank and we had water again! Totally recommend this place!

2021-09-09We had a massive leak from a pipe coming out of our well pressure tank and our basement was totally flooded. I managed to cut the water off and the next day I was referred to Katz by Rhinos Plumbing. Initially they were going to send a drill truck but a gentleman called and asked me to describe the problem and he said he could probably be over in 20 minutes! Originally we were told Friday but they worked us in. The guy that came out was very kind, professional and he knew what he was doing and he diagnosed and fixed the problem in no time at all. The people on the phone were very polite and professional and their technicians are top notch! We will be using these guys in the future!

2021-06-07NEED A NEW WELL, LOOK NO FURTHER; Our old well failed and we needed to get replace it. Spent two weeks on the phone calling everyone in the area and ended up calling seven companies before I landed with Katz. All other companies either did not return phone calls or simply did not appear to be interested in the business. This was the same for the only company in the area that was listed with the BBB. I recalled my realtor recommending Katz however when I saw they were an hour away, my heart sank as I was sure they would say no. Wendy answered the phone and spent the better part of an hour on the phone with me. She answered every question, and I am very inquisitive, and never showed a single concern that I was taking up so much of her time. Wendy is why I went with Katz. She is very knowledgeable, professional and made me feel like I was the only thing that mattered. You simply cannot find service like this. By the time I got off the phone with her I knew I found the right company. Day one of the drilling, Jason and Ryan (the owner) came out and we immediately ran into a snag. The well was not going to be able to be drilled in the backyard as we stated with the county when we pulled the permit. Ryan jumped on the phone and called the county dept. and had it all worked out in short order. He knew everyone there. Now that is what I call extra special service. Jason and Ryan worked all day long and did an incredible job keeping the yard tidy and took every precaution to prevent any issues. Jason and Mike S came on day two of the drilling and also ran into a few snags. They worked quickly to identify solutions and their solutions were perfectly executed and saved much time and potential cost. Creative thinking is another skill set hard to find and their experience is priceless. You cant get better than this team. I could go on and on about how satisfied I am with Katz. So very happy that I did not make the mistake to go with anyone else. Look no further and feel very comfortable that hiring Katz to dig your well it a decision well made.

2020-08-19We called at 2:15 saying that we did not have water. They said they would have someone out first thing in the morning. We agreed, then they called back 10 minutes later saying they could have someone out today. Tech arrived, was very processional and personable. Went right to work, had all parts needed on this truck. He had water flowing before 4:15, less than two hours. Availability may very on when they can do service, but we were impressed with their sense of urgency to our problem. They could have just come out the next day. The bill also came back UNDER the ballpark figure I asked the Tech for. I see no need to call any other well companies in the future, we will just call Katz.
