Kroger in other cities:
Not good. I have come in the store and see “self checkout” lines going around to the end of store. Sometimes, no attendant is available to reset the self checkout terminals (which occur at least 30% of the time). Pharmacy is even worse, almost as bad as the design of their website. I understand that many organizations have labor/covid issues. The lack of inventory is mostly out of their control, but I have been frequenting the Kroger stores in this area for literally 30 + years and very disappointed.
Surprised and very disappointed. The service and products are not acceptable. To be specific, at eleven am on a week day only a few self service check outs were available and even customers with less than 10 items had about a 15 minute wait in line. In addition, all items were not fresh and employees were unable to answer simple questions.
Only 2 lights on for lanes open, though the self checkouts were open.An item was incorrectly charged and for the 5th visit in a row(over 2 months time) the office was closed yet again! The staff that was there was very nice though. Otherwise they would have gotten just one star.
I am a person who like shopping in Kroger for its fresh fruits & vegetables and good deal but not this branch...the efficiency for check out is relatively lower when compared to other locations and guess what? after 30mins waiting in line to be checked out the cashier asked me to stand in another line to wait again!! staff there are not helpful and friendly like other locations do, would never go there in future...
I wish there was another Kroger closer because whenever I shop here, I am left feeling frustrated. Items on sale either never ring up correctly or signs are incorrect. Checkouts are horrible, long lines and workers just wander off if you need help without communicating what theyre doing or where theyre going. I loved the prices at Kroger but dread the experience.
Having been employed by this store and company, I can say they are primarily concerned with what you, the customers or potential employees, can do for THEM. They are one of the lowest paying employers in Ann Arbor, not to mention how poorly they treat new employees. In one instance, an employee decided they had had enough abuse from a fellow employee and stood up to them (using harsh words and statements the cowardly Kroger elite did not like) earning a permanent suspension because firing them would allow for unemployment to be filed. This is just one example of the cowardice and despicable attitude they have adopted. They get one star because I couldnt choose 1/2 or less.
I am never able to complete my shopping list because shelves are not stocked promptly. In addition the layout is confusing with dry pasta and refrigerated pasta on opposite sides of the store. Also typically forced to self checkout and line is always slow and multiple people long.
I dont shop here as much as I used too. I go to Arbor Farms, Plum Market or Whole Foods, I dont care to shop somewhere, when the Company has little or no Integrity. Additionally, it is unfortunate that this location has gone down hill. Its not the lower level employees, its Corporate, that has allowed the service provided to digress. Its not that people dont want to work, but by Coporate refusing to increase the wages, nobody wants the jobs. How would they like to live pay check, to pay check and still barely make ends meet? In other words, over worked and under paid. Really, this Billion Dollar Corporation cant afford to pay a decent livable wage? Perhaps, at some point Corporate will come to the Realization, you have to Spend Money in order to Make Money. Until then, they will continue to experience a Worker Shortage. Wake Up Corporate and Smell the Coffee! How about you can Afford it! Therefore, you can Wake Up to a Nice Hot Cup of Coffee and then Some, Every Morning!
All throughout the pandemic I felt like this was the last Kroger to not take a major downward turn in their customer service and overall store appearance. However that seems to not be the case anymore. Went in nice and early this morning assuming everything would be restocked, found out it was the exact opposite. Half the deli was empty. Instead of being asked if I needed any help employees just glared at me. My chicken tenders were so chewy my jaw hurt after I was finished eating them. Im going to repeat that my chicken TENDERS were chewy. And now Im left with the realization that my favorite grocery store doesnt have a location within 20 miles of me that hasnt just let themselves go. But I mean what do you expect from a corporation that would rather close stores down than pay their employees a livable wage
The employees here are extremely rude and always in a bad mood. I understand it is busy here and it can be stressful but you cant take it out on the customers. After being a Kroger shopper for over 10 years, this last shopping experience was THE LAST. I will happily drive down the road to Meijer where the employees are friendly.
While shopping for my job, there was a problem with online pay. The manager, Steve, was very rude and no help. He was yelling at me and wasnt trying to help to rectify the issue. Once the problem was fixed he told me to bag your stuff and hurry up and get out the store. The cashier made the mistake and he was mad at me because he didnt know how fix it. The last few times I have been there, there has been rude associates talking crazy to guest.
Theyre grocery pick up service, click list is awful. Im sitting here at 6:51 still waiting for my 5-6 pm pick up order! I could have gotten my own groceries in this time! Last time I ordered they substituted a whole bunch of things that were pretty standard things that they shouldnt be out of. Made me wonder if they just didnt want to look for them? The people who bring the groceries to the car are very nice but I think Kroger needs to get it together with this service!
Very great selection of items, even with the pandemic, and staff really is doing their best. I see some of the employees (specifically at check-out) running around multi-tasking yet they still manage to be friendly and help even the more ornery shoppers with a smile*I recommend using the machines closest to the produce side of the store if you have a big order, because those machines have an extra shelf on top you can put stuff on. The machines can sometimes be a hassle, but the employee usually does their best to fix it. Any issues with coupons ive ever had were solved really quickly at the service desk. Kudos to them.*hard to tell if smiling due to masks LOL
Went to order delivery for my elderly mom only to find out no delivery is available... in this hard time with the nasty virus I dont think its a good idea for elderly to be taking the bus to the store.. please do better with this!!! Edit... they are not even doing pick up orders!! someone was going to go pick up for my mom but now we cant even do that. I am out of state so trying to find how she will get groceries has been hard. Pick up and deliveries should be reserved to those who really NEED it! please dont tie up these services. Senior citizens without cars are really screwed in this situation now.
Came shopping right before close, get in the only lane open at 8:52 (close at 9) and were told we have to go the self check out because the lane was closed because the store was closing. We had at least a cart full of item, way too much for self check out. When I pointed this out to the supervisor(?) And she said they close at 9 and the workers need to leave at 9. It took us 30 minutes to check out and did not get out until almost 9:30. Also after she made us go to self check out the lane stayed open for at least three people after us. I will be calling to speak with the store manager and I will not be returning to this kroger, maybe no kroger ever again.
Krogers employees are working overtime and are far an beyond amazing in their jobs. The store went through a major overhaul and that was not easy to all but they pulled it off an spaced EVERYTHING out! I have shopped with them for over 50 yrs. They continue to have the widest variety for the best prices And im a vegan,my mother(lives with me)a vegetarian an my son an keto! Now that covers alot with coupons tailored for us. 😘
Zero stars for this Kroger store! The store is always dirty, paper on the floor, shelves messy, produce dry and wilted lettuce/kale its a real shame. The management seems to be absent in every aspect at this location. They didnt even plow the parking lot after a recent snow storm. I absolutely think there mustnt be a manager because how could someone run a grocery store like this. At 5:00 a half hour wait to checkout. The slowest grocery checkers in the city. They really dont care about customer service! So sad!
Im annoyed that the bottle return is always dirty & half the machines are not working. One entrance open way at the other end so its VERY INCONVENIENT from the bottle return. Have that entrance open instead if you insist on one open entrance. Which that doesnt make sense either since the germs are still in the store no matter what door you come in. And same goes for one way aisles!! Im not walking down one aisle to get to a product that is within 2 feet of a aisle that runs the other way. Still walking along other germy people to get to the up aisle! So if I shop Im in there super early to avoid this nonsense.
10: 40 pmTypically, Kroger is a simple and convenient option for my grocery shopping needs. But I will be hard pressed to go there again. I bought just under $300 worth of groceries, and spent just as long in the check out as doing the shopping itself. Why? They had no personel run registers open, so I was forced to use the self checkout registers, which of course, way your items as you bag them. Though Kroger has the extended shelf, this wasnt even helpful with the amount of groceries i had, not was the employee who came over to -rather impolitely- inform me I had reached the weight limit and needed to move my items. With that encounter, along with the machine beeping at me the entire time, you could say my frustration levels were rather high. Not at all a pleasant experience. Plus. When I finally got most of the items scanned the employee came over to offer assistance. It was too late for that to do any good. To top everything, the doors closest to my car had been locked, but I was only notified of this when I had made it to them. Please work on creating a better customer service experience, Kroger.Sincerely,A previous customer and current retail employee who expects and knows better.
This was my home Kroger for a few years and I always enjoyed how friendly the staff always was, and how hard working they always seemed to be in terms of keeping the store in excellent condition. I saw many management staff always walking around seeming to check customer experiences or inspecting for improvements. Ive never had an issue here and its one of those stores where you can feel that they care.
Wont be going back to this store. A cart full of groceries and not a single manned check out lane. In addition, I dont like the rearrangement of the store. Ill shop at Arbor Farms or Aldi, thank you. Was going to leave a review from my receipt, but no feedback code. Guess it doesnt matter!!!
This Kroger location is a pretty good one. It’s been one of my go to’s when I’m on this side of Ann Arbor. The layout of the store is pretty good and the staff is relatively friendly. You’re gonna be able to find pretty much whatever type of grocery need you’re gonna find here.
What happened??? This place used to be so nice! I expect grocery stores to be cleaner. I kept waiting for the dust bunnies to hop in my cart. Ive waited half an hour to check even when visiting on a weekday afternoon. Seems like this place needs more staff more regular cleaning.
The lady at the meat counter was wearing a face shield but not a mask, which made me leary of getting anything there. The food selection and pricing is alright, service is okay. Reading the stories about the company opting to close stores instead of giving workers hazard pay during the pandemic made me less inclined to shop here.
Checkers and stockers are generally very helpful, friendly, and competent. Pharmacy staff good, too. However, Kroger appears to be driving shoppers to self-checkout by having fewer staffed lanes open, leading to longer waits overall. Staffed check-out lanes tend to go slowly, of course, with the larger orders, but the alternative isnt great. Self-checkout often requires staff intervention for various reasons (ID check, coupons, device hangup of some sort), and seems understaffed, so you wind up waiting there, too. In COVID world especially, I want to get in and out of a store full of folks outside my bubble ASAP--please add more staff to checkout functions!
Good produce selection and a growing organic and natural foods section. Great deals on seasonal stuff (think all holidays, summer grilling stuff) - always something new to browse through! Check-out lines skew toward the self-serve, but I prefer to wait and keep my neighbors employed.
This Kroger has a good selection. Only missing a couple of items for which I have to go to another grocery store. The produce is usually in good condition, and they have all the staple fruits. I only wish they had Fuji apples every week, but they probably cant help that. Staff here is average with a few standouts who will really make you smile. The butchers Ive talked to here are knowledgeable.
Krogers is well organized and staffed with great people. Their products are generally mainstream but they do stock a few items that are hard to find. The prices are good. My only complaints are that they are short of staff and their bottle return facility is often overtaxed and under maintained. The reason theyre understaffed is that they dont pay very well. Some might say that you cant have low prices and pay your staff a living wage but if you look at the Costco model it seems that you can. I do feel that the staff at the Kroger location that I shop at do a great job.
I used to love Kroger but my god has it fallen! The latest fiasco was putting in an online order for 7-8pm pickup, showing up at 7:40pm and its not ready...not even close. They said come back in an hour. This is after the last time they forgot my fridge/frozen stuff so I had to come back...then they forgot the fridge stuff *again*. A call placed to customer service HQ said due to heave call volume we cant take your call, goodbye. Goodbye is right Kroger....
Excellent Kroger in town. Superb wine section. Wonderful produce, deli, meat and seafood counters. It is immensely popular so it can get very crowded around expected peak times and items and selections do run out, this would be expected of anywhere carrying fresh items in my opinion. They do a really fine job of managing long lines almost always and Ive never had a grumpy cashier in twenty years. I just cant find a reason to go to the other so called upscale markets in town when I have this Kroger right here.
Looking at past reviews I can say they have changed for the better. Customer Service ROCKS! Price is high like all other stores but when they have a sale and when I use the digital coupons, I come out with SAVINGS. I love the quality of their food (Kroger brand). The experiences I have had keeps me coming back weekly.
On the whole, definitely an above-average grocery store. Generally pleasant ambience. Good bakery section. BUT. The negatives are: small parking lot where somehow most spots feel far away; strangely organized produce section that always seems to have a poor fruit selection; prices on the expensive side with bad deals.
There are people dying everywhere on the planet. Of all the unnecessary stores that have been closed, this of all stores would be irresponsible to not clean the touch screens at the u-scan in between the customers using them. I was told, we dont clean them every time anymore. People should be able to come get and pay for bare necessities without dying because of unsanitary touchscreens that you absolutely have to touch with direct contact.
Drive thru pharmacy. Sometimes you just don’t want to have to go inside for yourprescriptions. Here you don’t have to. I shop the ads for Kroger. I find the prices are often cheaper than Meijer. Nice clean store....terrible parking, terrible entrances and exits. I have used their home delivery service and I highly recommend it.I have also used the curb pickup service and would like to suggest you hire shoppers that are particular about your produce....your shoppers are NOT. Becauseof this I don’t buy produce this way anymore. LOVE that your ad sales also areavailable with curbside purchases.
Self check out lady was very worried about me paying for my water and was asking if I paid for it as I was leaving. Then was chased out of the store by that lady that was accusing me of stealing again. When she realized She was wrong she didn’t apologize she just walked back in.
I love the Murrays cheese department here!!! Autumn is amazing love the service she provided me when I need cheese! I also seen a good friend who works in the deli here Lucy is always Soo nice Im glad she is here! Will be shopping here for awhile. Thanks Autumn for everything and you shop is beautiful and you have a awesome team of mongers who helped me as well.
Its not a bad grocery store if you go at the right times...Id avoid anytime after 7pm, as that is when they stop restocking stuff (in my experience). From what I am told, it is best to go early on weekdays, but I have been able to go on Saturday mornings/early afternoons without it being an issue.
There was a spill on the floor and it was coming from the roof. And the night manager walked up did not acknowledge the spill and pretty much made it into my boyfriends fault for a spill leaking from the roof. And asked if it was raining outside. There was product not stocked on the shelf. And the employees looked miserable. Meijer is a better alternative. I do not like to shop at Kroger because it is never a pleasant experience. Doesnt matter where it is Kroger is always the same.
I was hoping I could give this Kroger zero stars.I used to be a regular customer at this local Kroger store on (S. Maple Rd). Today, when I was checking out using their automatic scanning machine, the machine kept malfunctioning. After I repeatedly requested for assistance, one of their employees whose name was April reluctantly came over to the machine. Instead of helping me solve the problem, she directly accused me of trying to steal their milk because she said she didnt see the correct number of milk cartons on the screen. I was left at the machine waiting for more than 30 minutes until their manager came to fix the machine and confirmed that NOBODY WAS TRYING TO STEAL THEIR ANYTHING.Overall, this was the worst shopping experience so far in my whole life. What a terrible grocery store and poorly trained, incompetent employees!
Best kroger in town my one stop shop it is always clean and the staff is always helpful and friendly with great prices and a discount section which is always stocked can be pretty busy at times (typically between 3:30pm-6pm) but check out moves pretty quick and they offer delivery and pick up for your shopping needs
This Kroger discontinued its use of handled paper bags. Not only does this discourage an average shopper from choosing paper over plastic but it HIGHLY DISADVANTAGES the elderly, the disabled, and those with small children. Bringing back paper bags WITH HANDLES not only benefits the environment and the community but also Krogers IMAGE. This is why it is NECESSARY to produce them again.
Staff very helpful with directions to required article. The self-checkout is an excellent substitude to human counter. Service in this compartment shoud not leave it to be a mere self-run rather than also assited checkout. With little exceptions, assistants are not prompt in the self-check out. I often find that selection has a good real meaning in this store. Fruits, proccessed meats, meats, dairy, alcoholics are often good selectes, and prices continuously matched and kept lower that the competition. It seems that management here takes good care of disability hiring, keeping a respectable balance. It gives a powerful message of inclusion given the apparent high number of customers visiting here.
Its a grocery store. How great can it be, right? Layout is the same as every other Kroger, staff are standard, products are mass produced and identical to those found in every other grocery store, and the prices are fair. Biggest annoyance is the requirement of a Kroger Card for discounts.
First they sell me chicken that is so dry it almost causes one of my family members to choke, and when I call to ask about why that was, no one even answers the phone. I called customer service, I called the deli, I even called the bakery!the bakery answered but just put me on hold where I stayed for over 15 minutes. And after 15 minutes of being put on hold, I was told to bring back the chicken with a receipt. It took 15 minutes for them to tell me to just bring it back!all Im saying, is if youre going to buy the chicken you might want to test it first because they have no problem selling you food that is inedible. And if you do make the mistake of buying it, dont expect to get any customer service or over it! Make sure to cancel any meetings or plans you have that day cuz youre going to be waiting a while
The self checkout lane is very frustrating, and now they have a video camera that says RECORDING. I would love to go to a normal cashier lane, but the lines are always way too long! Hire more cashiers.Kroger brands are not of the same quality as Meijers. And the produce section is lacking.
The location isnt too bad to get to if youre coming from the North but coming from the South is a little more difficult. The store is clean but the staff isnt always the friendliest. The store is usually well stocked but the way that the aisles are organized can be a little disorienting. Wish I would get a bit more service for the location and prices.
Store was gorgeous, helpful staff, amazing prices ... then I went to Starbucks. Carlita was rude, obstreperous and slower than molasses in July. it was freaking torture and when I asked her for a bag for my Starbucks merchandise, she looked at me like I had twelve heads. GET A REAL BARISTA.
Convenient; a nice touch to have a cooler near the front with the essentials- I wish Meijer did that. Decent cheese selection, as well as sushi. Prices and overall selection, however, dont compare to Meijer, but then its a smaller store in a more convenient location, so you pay 10-15% more on average, even with the Kroger card.
I used to work at a kroger store in Colorado, so I know when a kroger is poorly managed and the staff is miserable. The only redeeming quality of this store is the pharmacy. Otherwise, people hate their life here and make it abundantly clear. Management and service desk is especially stiff and unfriendly.
The management must get their staffing sorted out. 9:30am today - one self service check line open and only one cash register. open. The lines to pay were very long and people were getting angry. there appeared to be no management to talk to. I, and a few other people, just dumped their carts without paying as we had no idea how long it would take to get out of the store.
Not friendly for Senior citizens because there are no benches or seating outside so I can wait to be picked up with my purchases. There are also just a few places to sit inside and they are usually occupied.Too few working Amigos and all at one end of the store. This is disheartening, as I enjoy your produce, dairy and other sections.
Kroger provides full groceries, household items, paper products, toiletries, magazines, Western Union, check cashing, money orders, lottery, dairy, flowers, bakery, deli, cooked foods, sushi, wine, beer, butcher, pharmacy and much more.Parking is free. Parking is wheelchair accessible. The entrances are wheelchair accessible. The aisles are wheelchair accessible. The checkout lanes are wheelchair accessible. Power scooters are available. They offer self-checkout. They offer Coinstar machines that will count your change and give you a slip that can be used like cash or bottle deposit slips, for a fee. They accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, gift cards, electronic welfare benefits, insurance benefits, checks, coins, bottle slips, coupons, electronic chip cards, Coinstar slips, organs, tissues, children, adults, a pound of flesh, skin, bones and blood. They even accept HELOC funds in case you need to mortgage your house.Sleep tight kids.
If you want to see where onions WERE sold, or some nice space where canned tomatoes COULD be sold, go here. Everyday it looks like a hurricane is coming. Dont shop here for items for a specific recipe, you will need to visit another store to finish it out. Try Buschs.
Didnt really interact with any workers here because I didnt need any help. I was able to find what I was looking for with no help. No bad experiences here for me so Im a happy customer 😊 Ohh wait, its was hard to find a parking spot close to the door because they were all taken, NOT COOL!👿
I love this Krogers they have really great deals in the meat department and it always seems like when youre shopping around each aisle people are socializing a smile on their face and very very happy not like some other grocery stores where people look like theyre depressed frustrated and full of angst thanks again Kroger I appreciate you

2022-05-12Would like to give this store a 4 star review because it is clean and they offer good products but am giving it 2 stars because they have NO STAFF. Line was so long for self checkout that I had to leave for work before buying my groceries. See the picture and you will know what I mean. And that isnt even the whole line.

2022-06-04Got severely ill after having fried chicken from the deli. Decided that I would shop there, but just avoid the deli products on future visits. Then on a subsequent visit, after doing self-checkout, I thanked self checkout clerk as I was walking out. She stopped me and demanded that I show my receipt to prove I wasnt stealing. Annoying, but gave store another chance. Final straw was when I tried to use a coupon for health & beauty products, and then the same clerk who had accused me of stealing before then called over a manager to patronizingly attempt to explain why my sanitary pads didnt qualify. He said the coupon was for other health & beauty products-like perhaps cosmetics. I then pointed out that the coupon specifically excluded cosmetics. Still they denied my store coupon. I spent nearly a hundred dollars here, but you wont honor my coupon? Penny wise and pound foolish. Never going to this pricey and rude grocery store again.

2022-06-28What a store, no one who seems to work the floor, registers and the service desk. If you need help it is easier to ask other customers or decide to find the items yourself. I see they put a new security system in but not sure how it meets the fire code since it is a one way system...you can go in but can not go out unless you go through the checkout lanes, which are usually closed. Once again I had to deal with people bring their pets in the store, not a service animal approved by ADA.

2022-04-14Mixed feelings. I am happy with the order ahead service and staff who bring groceries to my car. Please close the Starbucks since you don’t have the staff to keep it open. Better to use that staff for other purposes. Today again nobody working in customer service but two workers at the Starbucks counter not taking orders. This store has major staffing issues. You can’t run a Starbucks kiosk at this time. Let those workers help check people out or staff your customer service desk.

2019-01-31This Kroger has the best flower shop I have ever seen! The gentleman that runs it is one of the best people I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. He truly cares about what he does and the people he helps. If I lived here I would never go to another flower shop again!!

2022-04-07This is the worst run grocery store I’ve ever seen. There are barely enough employees to keep the shelves stocked and run one self-checkout lane. I’ve walked out without shopping at least half the time in the last year because there are 30+ people waiting to pay. It’s funny that none of the other grocery stores in town seem to have trouble manning registers. I’m done wasting my time at this place.

2022-04-17The customer service at this location is very bad. I have been doing customer service for over 10 years and the way that I have always been treated at this specific location has been horrible. I have tried over and over again to see if the service would get batter over the years and it honestly seems like it is getting worse. It is NOT hard to be polite and respectful. WE MUST AS PEOPLE DO BETTER!!! If you know Better, Do Better.

2022-06-07Went to this Kroger today and it’s getting even worse. No frozen seafood section because their freezers are broken. And, the fresh seafood counter is totally shut down indefinitely. Save yourself the grief by avoiding this store, it’s long lines and poor service!!!

2022-06-03Store is clean and well stocked, but stuffers from a lack of staff. ZERO registers were open while a line of 10+ grew for the self-checkout - unacceptable.

2022-07-01Waited in long lines for self checkouts while zero normal lanes are open. Managers and employees walking around looking like they have nothing to do while customers wait. Will not be back to this location and will recommend to all friends and family to stay away. There is no excuse to make paying customers wait while employees that are on the clock stand around.....
